Music suddenly starts playing on its own iPhone 4

I have a iPhone 4 (32GB) running 4.0.2 and over the past week or two I have noticed that once in a while whatever music I have currently paused on my phone will just start to play. In fact it just happened again now. The iPhone was just sitting on my desk next to me in sleep mode and the music just suddenly started to play on it. It happened a few days ago as well when I was walking around a store with the phone in the side holster I have. I have tried rebooting the phone (even a hard reboot). Is there some app that might be causing this? Many times it has happened the iPhone is in sleep mode (screen locked) so it isnt as if me touching it in some way would do that. It happened again today when I ran the Weather Channel app on the iPhone the iPod started to play. Very strange. Intel Core i7 920 Windows 7 64bit Windows 7

My iphone 4G works perfectly

I just wanted to offset some of the complaints on this board so people who are nervous about the phone will know it is a good buy. I havent had any issues at all with my phone. No yellow screen, no reduced reception (i am using the black bumper) and no problems with the camera shutter or email operations. All my functions work perfectly, speakerphone is loud, headphones are clear, and the battery life is great. I guess my question would be am I the only person who has never had any problems with an iphone? Because this forum makes it seem like they are guaranteed to have issues when they usually dont. Netflix crashes after 3 seconds of play iPhone 3G

So lets add insult to injury, Not only am I having to deal with the Sluggish non Responsive at times paper weight POS I used to call a reliable Iphone 3G before the 4.0 software upgrade, but now after months of waiting for Netflix to release to Iphone yep Im meet with yet more disappointment. When I try to watch a Movie I get 3 seconds then the screen freezes and it crashes taking me back to the Netflix pick a movie screen. I have tried restoring my phone new, removing the app re adding it going into the settings and selecting reset all to no avail. This happens regardless of my connection full 3G signal or full WiFi signal. any one else having this issue or figured out a solution? I-Phone 3G iOS 4 P.O.S thanks to SW version 4.0

I just wanted to post this topic as Im curious if the Apple monster will even read this or address them. I hope I get surprised. Apple makes, hands down, the most high quality of devices, but they tend to have it there way more than ours. I guess thats what makes them Apple. Without further ado, here is my list of bugs Ive noticed and I hope youll add to it. I would just love to see Apple address these:1. Performance issues with Podcasts and multiple-tasking. Youll hear stuttering on occasion, sometimes often while playing a podcast or even music. Ive noticed this at random and also at times when the phone locks or when switching out of the iPod.2. I just noticed this one: if you take the time to write on this exact site, you will find yourself getting lost, as sometimes the text goes on, and the screen doesnt follow it. Suprising that even on the iPhones home site, it cant perform the way it ought to. Youll also notice that below here, its asking me what hardware Im using and what OS. It should be clear what hardware Im on and even what OS Im running. Brilliant, considering this is Apple.com, I selected the iPhone 4 section, and the browser can report the os version. Oh wow, I just lost my text again and had to press the expanding icon on the bottom right of this pane. Also, sometimes i lose my text permanently where I should be able to scroll down to find it but there arent scroll bars... The attention to detail of the aesthetics of the phone cant be matched on the outside, but again, leave a lot to be desired on the inside.3. Echo for the remote callers own voice when my phone is plugged into a stereo through the headphone jack. Even when my volume is so low, I cant hear it.4. While heavily texting, if I exit out to the home screen after/during the send of the text, my phone will freeze for a good 60-120 seconds. If I press too many buttons, trying to get it to respond, it will reboot itself instead of coming back to life. Again this only happens (very seldom) when Im sending texts to multiple random people and I abruptly go home while a message is being sent (or maybe received?).5. While playing music, the quality will often drop drastically when entering a game or application that has sounds. This has only happened in two places so far. While talking on the phone, if I go to play music on the iPod to hear in my headphones, and when entering Bejeweled 2 Blitz with the in-game music off and the sounds on, while iPod music is being played. I do not believe this is Bejeweled at fault. Try it, make a call and try and play some background music in your headphones. The quality drops to a very unacceptable level.Thats actually all I can think of for now! Please fix these issues Apple and I will gain a good bit of respect, knowing you heard and acknowledged this. Also, please, everyone post your findings as well, in addition to the Bluetooth, and proximity bugs that have seemingly been addressed but not resolved. iPhone 4 iOS 4 4.0.2, thanks for the option above, and for not already knowing that.

How to exit FaceTime iPhone

This may sound like a stupid question at first -- but how doI exit a FaceTime connection and revert back to the voice call…?!I mean, if I can go from voice to video I should be able to go back to voice again, right…?!So far I have tried all buttons and options, but I cant find anything that works…! I can mute the FT call and I can of course hang up and call again, but thats not really a solution…Closest thing I found is pressing the home button, but -- just as in a voice call -- that only takes you to the home screen and you are still on speaker, so thats not it either…Am I missing something here…?! ok, i need help. i bought an iphone 3g 8gb and replaced the battery with a new one. i plug in the usb cable and a battery shows up exactly as the one on the left from here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1476 , a minimum red power battery with one lightning bolt. then like 3 seconds later the apple logo appears, and another 3 seconds the screen goes blank. is my iphone charging? iphone 3g iOS 4

iphone 3g will not charge and buttons dont seem to work this normal

help please, i put in a new replacement battery in my iphone 3g 8gb. then i plug in the usb cable and for a few short seconds the battery shows with very little red power and also the lightning bolt below. then a few more seconds later the apple logo shows, and a few more seconds and the phone screen turns blank, no buttons do anything. is this normal? i once got it to the plug to itunes screen by holding the home and power button, just by luck. but besides that one time, the buttons are unresponsive, and i dont know if the **** thing is even charging the new battery at all. iphone 3g iOS 4

Had glass screen replaced now iPhone randomly shuts down

My wife very recently had her glass screen replaced after a nasty crack. Everything was fine for the first 24 hours or so; now the phone continues to randomly shut off. The screen was replaced (for free!) at an Apple Store Genius Bar, not a random cell phone store. Shes performed a couple hard resets, but no luck. At this point Im thinking she should take it back in and have it troubleshot by them, however her time is precious (busy business professional!) so I was curious if anyone on the boards had any ideas before making another appointment...Any input is much appreciated!! Glass Shattered iPhone 4

Ive got proof that the glass shattered and im not a happy camper. I was putting something in the trunk and the phone slipped out of my hand and on to the pavement. It was in a case that cost me $35.00 I was sick, had the phone only 2 weeks and the front glass cracked. I went to AT&T and explained what i had did. They were no help here, not covered even if you buy the warranty. So they told me of a phone repair close by. They told me that they could fix it by replacing the screen and it will cost me $179.00 dollars to get it fixed WHAT. Ouch just bought it two weeks prior for $299.00 . What a the huge expense . After hearing all the pros about how flexible the glass is , dont belief everything you read or hear. I still have the phone, tucked away in my purse cause i dont want anyone to see how ugly it looks with the glass cracked. It still works so unhappily im having to make due with what i have very very frustrated. Ive owned a ipod and a previous version iphone, cheaper products by apple that were more rugged and durable, so i am not new to apple products. Perhaps after my contract is up in two years i will not rough be returning to an apple product. What a money making opportunity for a repairman, mine was a simple thing falling out of my hand but what about others who can be tuff on phones because of job, ie contruction workers, cooks etc or how about a family with young children who play a game and start running with it in there hands because a parent is chasing after them to get it back, excited giggling and putting down the phone thinking of the consequences that lie ahead just saying it could happen. I can see this happening the glass shattering. What about people with medical conditions and the phone accidently dropping beyond there control, will it cost $179.00 everytime you do it to replace the screen because afterall we signed a 2 year contract to get it for $299.00. iphone 4 iOS 4

Bumper and Invisible shields iPhone 4

I was wondering if anyone here had tried using a bumper and a screen and back protector. I am currently using my Luxe original because I do not want to scratch my back. I would rather use the bumper for cosmetic reasons but do not want any scratches. iPhone 3G no longer recognized by iTunes

I dont know what happened. I havent changed any settings on my pc. I updated my phone software to 4.0.2 last week with no apparent problems. I think Ive charged on my pc since but cant remember for sure. Now when I hook to usb, it goes on and off. Like not the power, but it (the iphone) will connect and show charging and I get the windows message that the apple camera is connected and what do i want to do. then it blinks off, like shows my welcome screen, not charging. then a few seconds later it shows up again and shows to be charging. it goes through this over and over. And iTunes does not recognize the iphone, says an error occurred.Any thoughts or suggestions? Dell XPS 410 Windows XP

Iphone 4 locks up after phone call

Any time I make or receive a phone call, the Iphone is locked up for 5-10 minutes after hanging up. Just a black screen, home button totally unresponsive.Luckily, I dont actually use the phone as a phone very much, but its very annoying when I do, and then cant get back on the phone to do anything. 3G Hangs In App-Reboot To Get Out. iPhone 3G

Yesterday, my 3G on OS 4.02 started acting odd when pressing the Home button. It took a couple of trys and then it would start randomly starting and stopping apps. This morning, when I would go to an app such as Settings, Mail, or anything else, you could not get out. Only way back to home screen was a reboot. While in the app you could do all the functions, but could not get out.So, it was time to upgrade anyway, so I bought a new 4 today.Now my question. I would like to take my 3G and give to a friend, but obviously it needs repairing. I have taken VERY good care of the phone and it shows little wear. Who Has Had Perfect iPhone 4 Experience

My iPhone experience has been flawless! I ordered on 6/16 in the evening with no problem. Received a ship by 7/14 date and a deliver by 7/14-7/19 date. I received an email from Apple on Friday that the order had been released and tracked the package a couple of times over the holiday at my lakehouse for the holiday and received it today (7/6) in mid-afternoon. The sync process was seamless, everything came over. Using the phone around town today, taking photos, sending and receiving texts, and I have not had problem #1. No dropping calls, no damaged or colored screen, no missing iPhone when I opened the box. The process has been very well done and the iPhone is really outstanding. The screen presentation is amazing, the new form factor is much easier too handle than any of the previous versions. Given that I cant believe everyone writing in is hallucinating, or incompetent or worse, lying...I wonder how many have an excellent experience like I have? Moisture on screen iPhone 4

Hi,I bought the iphone on Saturday and I also installed the invisible shield by zagg.On Sunday i was made a call(about 1 hour and the phone was in my ear) and when i close it i saw something like water on the right up section of the screen.On Monday this thing has gone to all the right section of the screen but it somehow starting to disappear.Its not down of the screen protector because i took it off.Its inside the screen.I contact with Apple in Greece but because they dont have authority to fix it they just contact with Apple in UK to see if the problem exists.They told me that is somekind of common and ill have to wait for 7 days for the moisture to get away of the screen.Is this normal?Did you hear any similar cases?Best regards,Vasilis. Cant update iPhone 3G Unable to connect with iTunes

Last night I set up my iPhone 3G to upgrade to iOS4, when I wake up this morning it has the connect to iTunes screen. No problem I thought, can sort that out. Hi there,My 2 week old iPhone 4 OS 4.0.2 is acting up. Here is what often happen when I am typing a text message:Starts typing a lot of random letters... Hits the send button so it sends the random text to the recipient.. Then enters another conversation, typing more random text and sends.. And it all happens very fast. And sometimes when attempting to unlock the home screen, I try to hit 6, and it will enter 3333 - wrong code...What is the deal? Software upgrade or should I have it replaced? iPhone Slightly Messed Up-iphone softwae server could not be contacted

Okay so my iphone is kind of messed up. I have a music problem ( in that in speeds it up, even though i changed headphones and it randomly pauses music) i have a slowness issue like most people, but to get frm the lock screen to messages it takes a matter of minutes, it takes 1 minute to get to the screen for me to enter my password and a minute or two to type it in and load then another minute to get on messages! im really annoyed. apple are suppose to be the best company out but with so many problems with their iphones i am really not believing this!whenever i try to restore my iPhone 3G, i get the message the iphone softwae server could not be contacted. my network settings are FINE. as i am on the internet. what is going on!? it wouldnt work last night either. i want to get back to 3.0 without jailbreaking obviously.i hate apple at the moment ¬___¬ Mac & Pc iOS 4 I have iPhone 3G, iPod Touch, Mac Desktop

iPhone 4 all 3rd party apps including their data suddenly gone

There is a strange and very annoying bug in iOS 4 (4, 4.0.1 and 4.0.2); every once in while all third party apps including their data get deleted from the iPhone. This happens WITHOUT any user interaction, apparently random and not during sync. The iPhone just rests on the desk unused, then I pick it up again, unlock the screen and find out that all 3rd party apps are gone. The original Apple apps including their data are just fine. Very strange and very annoying. Did someone else suffer from this problem? I have noticed that after upgraded to 4.02, I now receive an error on the screen that reports that this accessory is not supported by Iphone, prior to the 4.02 update. Both my belkin and scosche power adapters worked fine. Did Apple re-enable (if not Apple cable or power adapter), display the error ? Iphone 4 iOS 4

Scratched iphone4

Has anyone else scratched the front of there iphone4 yet? I have and I dont know how as it only ever goes in my pocket on its ownsome,so much for the glass being super strong. iTunes crashes when iPhone 3G connects HELP Tried everything

Hello all,Ive been having a problem with my iPhone 3G for a while now, where whenever I plug it in while iTunes is open, iTunes just crashes. Ive tried reinstalling iTunes completely (following these instructions http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923) as well as restarting computer, updating all apple software, deleting iTunes preferences, re-installing the iTunes USB driver...Nothing seems to work! Before, if I was lucky, I was given the opportunity to restore my iPhone to factory settings (set up a new iPhone...the backups stopped working ages ago). Burnt out screen iPhone 3G

Just took my sim card out of my iPhone last night and now the screen is all burnt out and blurry. Theres a big grey spot in the middle of the phone and it wont go away. Does anyone know if this is fixable? Or do I throw the phone at the next brick wall I see? Mac iOS 4

My face touches MUTEHOLDEND iPhone

While Im on a phone call, the screen will wake (I guess due to the natural minor adjustments I make in the way I hold the phone) and when I put the phone back against my face, the key for MUTE, or HOLD, or END is getting pressed. random clicks and moving dead spots iPhone 3G

Anyone know why my iphone 3 would have dead spots that appear sometimes, appear in different sections of the screen, and sometimes are not there? Also, there are times when my phone just clicks on stuff by itself. Ive tried cleaning the screen, not using a screen protector and even getting a new digitizer, but no luck. Any ideas? iPhone 4 Problem With Email and Spotlight

I have a problem... When i try to delete a discussion on Mail the application just quits and i have to hard reset to get it to work. And that is not all when i try to search in spotlight iphone for the weather a weird application called Web shows up as the top hit, and i have never used it so i try it immedietly after i do the iphone 4 shows the apple screen and restarts. So what do i do? How hot should phone be iPhone 4

So I bought the iphone 4 a couple weeks ago, and this being my first apple product i was kinda shocked to feel the kind of heat coming out of it. Ive read the forums, and people are saying, yes, the phone will heat up after use. But how hot exactly should it be before its considered unacceptable? The heat usually starts to get unbearable in my hands after about 5 min of usage (gaming, youtube) and it originates from somewhere on the right side of the phone, screen facing me. Iphone 4 calling issues. screen wont blank out when on call

I am hoping someone can help me. I have just upgraded from iphone 3G to an Iphone 4. When I am on a phone call my face will touch the screen and activate other calls or actions on my phone such as facebook and text messaging. My old 3G phone screen used to black out when on a call so this problem didnt happen. 3rd iPhone 4 screen malfunctioning

Swapped out the first because of another issue. Got a second, the screen started getting lines 1 day after I got it, small fine lines running across the screen, makes the screen look like ****! Went back a day later, they swapped it out no problem, SAME issue with the screen, and its super yellow. What in the world do I do now? I am not going to go back in there and demand for a new one again--Apple on the phone wants $30 bucks to ship another one out, what does anyone recommend? screen Scratching iPhone 4

Normal wear and tear my eye.I have had my iPhone4 less than a month and already there are scratches accumulating in one spot.The phone has always been in a case and has never been treated any differently than my 2 iPhone 2Gs and my 3Gs. In fact... my 2G was actually in my bunker gear when I was on the fire department quite frequently... Not one scratch. The 4 has never been in that sort of scenario... scratched up.I could see calling it normal wear and tear if this was on the BACK... but as the screen is both the visual and tactile interface to the device... This is NOT acceptable. There also seem to be a large number of folks having this same issue that are repeat iPhone customer.I took it to the Genius Bar where Cletus proceed to take his T-Shirt and attempt to rub off the scratches. Why didnt I think of that?!?!?! He took pictures and said I needed to call Apple Care. Called Apple Care.. no pictures or notes in the system at all... and... too bad... normal wear. I dont get that since the normal wear and tear on a 2-3 year old phone is less than on a month old phone. AND.. this is the phone that the Great Turtlenecked One said was sooo much stronger and invincible. I had an iPhone user discover a problem with certain 3rd party wall chargers for iPhones. When you plug your iPhone in to charge the screen starts jumping around if you try to type an email or text message. I thought I would throw this out here in case anyone else is having this issue. Iphone 3g shows apple logo after restore

I replaced my screen because it was cracked. Phone still functioned fully. I updated to 4.02 or latest update with success so that I could restore to that point later. My problem is that I have success in getting the connect to itunes recovery screen and the computer has offered to restore and then begins its process. According to the Phone updater log, the restore succeeded. However as Itunes restores (or during the process), the phone returns to the apple logo screen and itunes no longer sees it. The phone will then endlessly loop to try and reboot every 5 mins or so with the apple logo until the battery goes dead. Two attempts thus far.I have a valid contract with AT&T and the phone is not jailbroken. Although yes, I replaced the screen myself. (A cost of $20 shipped to my house over $200+ with apple) The phone is a little more than 2 years old.The frustration is it seems that everything should be working but cant get past apple log screen. I believe since i took the phone to an itunes store to inquire about glass replacement, the tech would had noted the cracked screen, leading anyone to believe the possibility of the phone screen being replaced otherwise, in otherwords, I dont expect Apple to help at all despite the fact of having 2 phones now, but they could surprise me. HiI have an iphone 3g and it wouldnt boot at all.. I would charge it and it would charge barely enough to boot up the phone. Then when it would get to the apple logo screen, the little loading circle would stop spinning a second after trying to load. I tried to do a firmware flash, but my computer wouldnt recognize the iphone. Any ideas on how to fix it? Custom build Windows 7

iPod Touch stuck in recovery mode iPhone 3G

I was trying to update my cousins iPod Touch, so I clicked restore since I was on a different computer. First, for a while, it just said Preparing iPod for restore..., and then it said that there was an error. Now my cousins iPod only shows the connect to iTunes screen. If I plug it in again, it says that I have to restore it. If I do, it will only do the same thing. I think the problem was that I was updating to iOS 4 from os 2. So, what can I do? Suddenly cant sync iPhone 3G

After getting home from a trip where I had been syncing with my MBP, I just tried synching with my iMac and cant. The backup seemed to work. Hi, my iPhone was working perfectly up until 3 weeks after ios 4 came out. My phone started acting up. The touch screen started controlling itself and the touch screen stopped working. white screen prob and beyond iPhone 3G

I have an Iphone 3G and I dont really know what happened. one day it just had a white screen and is not recognised by my computer. however I do get the beep from the computer to tell me that it has connected. what I have tried:1. i was going to restore it but its not recognized so cant do that2. tried to reset it with home and power buttons. all it does is give me the apple screen and then back to the white screen and off.3. tried a hard reset where i hold the home, power and up volume buttons. i get the same result as a normal reset.4. I have been told that the white screen is caused by internal hardware becoming disconnected. my warranty is up so i opened my iPhone and checked and everything is connected. hp Windows 7 iphone 3g 16g

Another weird touchscreen problem during phone call iPhone 4

Next to the problem that during a call, the phone starts to write an email message or switching to the speaker, now it jumps to the dial screen and (because of a little change against my cheek) it starts to dial a number or hanging up completely. Home button stop working iPhone 3G

Hi, I know what happened to my iPhone 3G. Today, it was working perfectly but this night, the home button stop working. So I closed it with the top button, once restarted, the home button wasnt working. But then, it became really slow, everything had a delay of 6 seconds. I try to restart it but it got stuck the shutdown circle animation. And without the home button, I couldnt hard reset it. But suddenly, the screen goes black and now, nothing work. But when I plug it on my mac, iTunes display an error 0xE8000065.Jeez, I totally lost. I was waiting for the iPhone 4 but I dont when it gonna release in Canada.
