My iPhone 5 won't stay powered down.

I am able to power down my iPhone 5, by sliding the red slider. But then about 30 seconds later, it powers back up by itself.  I've already done the Sleep/Snooze button and the Home button together for 10 seconds, but to no avail. Any other suggestions?

Ringer not working iPhone 4S

When a call or text is coming throug there is no sound. The settings seem fine. When I switch the side button to red nothing happens. What used to happen would be the bell sign would come up with a line through it indicating the ringer was switched off but now nothing happens whichever way I switch it. Vibrate is switched on in settings but it isn't vibrating either. Interestingly the alarm is working so the sounds are not completely gone.  I have powered it off an back on etc., but it hasn't made any difference. Any advice. Thanks Paula

Should I get iphone 5 containing 16gb or 32gb Or should I wait for newer version of iphone to come out

I'm planning on buying the iphone 5 because I have an upgrade available. I have never owned an iphone before, but I do have an 2gn ipod which has 8 gbs and has 2 apps and have used 5.5 of my 6.84 gbs available with songs(1175 songs). I have also have 30 photos, and have 1.5 gbs left to fill. If I do get the iphone 5 I will not put music on it, because I have my ipod. I would like to have a lot of apps though, because I like to test them out, and give reviews on them. I have a fair amount of photos in my current phone(around 400), but the camera quality is not that good, and I think because the iphone 5 have a lot more gbs than my current one that I will want to take more than I usually do(although I would probably upload them onto my computer and delete the originals off my phone). I don't have that many contacts and I have a tablet where I play my games and movies on, so that is not an issue. I know this is a bit long but I really want to make the right choice because I plan on having this phone until my next upgrade which is in 2 years. I want to know if 16gbs should be enough or if should I go with the 32gbs? OR if I should just wait for the newer version to come out, and if this is worth to buy. I would also would like to know what the perks and downsides are too. Thank you for your patience and time.

iPhone 4 battery drain when powered off

Lately I've been turning off my phone and when I turn it back on battery is drained. Yesterday I turned it off at 80% and when I turned it back on 3 hours later it was at 62%. Then today I turned it off at 50% and when I turned it back on it was at 32%! Does anyone know why my iPhone is losing battery even when it's completely powered off? I feel like it shouldn't be losing any battery at all

Wifi greyed out on Iphone 4s

All of a sudden I lost my wifi signal....Checked out the settings and the WiFi is off and unable to turn it back on....i have powered down the phone...i have done a full restore and the wifi switched remains greyed out....any suggestions?

Battery life-iphone 4

Well I tried turning off the Bluetooth, turning off WIFI, turning off location services, and all Push activity.  After all of this my battery lasts about 8 hours.  I guess I could keep the phone powered off but I think that kind of defeats the purpose of owning the phone. Any studies on the lifespan of an iPhone 4 battery?  My applecare warranty runs out in a few months.

My mom passed me her phone as she couldn't get it to restart.  I got it to charge and restart in recovery mode.  However, I've tried all steps on this and many other forums and it is stuck in "trying to restore".  On the phone, it will blink a white screen, show the apple logo and a progress bar then quickly disappear then on the computer give me error code 9.  I have tried 3 different cords, on both my MacBook Air and my iMac.  Same results on both computers.  She purchased a new phone as she couldn't do without, but would love to fix this phone and give to one of my children.  This phone has not been jailbroken.  Any help would be sooooo appreciated!  Not sure what will happen if I try to take this to Apple.

Iphone 5 no longer connecting to bluetooth in car

My Iphone 5 has been connected succesfully via bluetooth to my car for the past 5 months (Ford Fiesta).  Yesterday I went to use it and it wont connect, I powered off the phone, turned bluetooth on/off still not working. I debonded all phones from the car and went to start afresh but that wont work either. When it is searching for devices it just seems to be stuck?  I tried another Iphone 5 in my car and that connected no problems at all. Anyone have any ideas, it clearly must be the phone but wonder what on earth I have done.

Airplay. iPhone 5

I have had my Apple Tv since August of last year. My family and I have been able to connect our iPhones, iPads, etc. to the Apple Tv using "Airplay" (Mirroring). As of recently, it will not connect anymore. The Airplay icon in the most recents bar has dissappeared. I have updated my Apple Tv and still no luck. I have rebooted my router/ modem and still no luck. We use our Apple Tv for movies and shared games, kids are disappointed that it no longer works. Can someone please help me fix it. Thanks.

iPhone 4s not charging

We have been having trouble with our iPhone 4. It will just die. I researched the web and was able to find the information to restart it by pushing both buttons. This resets it, but does not last. Why my iphone low on storage

So I have nothing on my iphone 4. I have no pictures, no videos, no music, no apps, no movies and Icloud is turned off. I have reset my phone many time and the storage is still saying 6.3GB used and 40.1MB available. I am trying to get the new update but I need 983MB to get it. If someone will help I will be very greatful. I have nothing on my phone and still confused to why it won't let do the software update.

Vertical Grey lines iPhone 5

I dropped my iPhone from waist height flat onto the back (I have a zoogue case on it), and now grey vertical lines appear down the left side of the screen. I have powered off holding the home/power button, but nothing changed. I can't swipe to unlock it, so I can't type in my password in order to back it up over the cloud/my computer before resetting it. Has this happened to anyone? Suggestions? IPhone 4S stopped reading S card after 6 months

I have iPhone 4S it has a H2o SIM card that's worked for about 6 months no problem then one day it said SIM card failure I powered phone on/off once and started working again. Two weeks later it took 3-4 times of me cycling power on/off and removing SIM card and reinstalling it in order to get it to work. Then a week later it did same thing but took even longer. Now it won't read at all and I thought it was SIM card so I went and bought a new SIM card but no change, I looked online for help and even tried to put tape on tray/card like someone said but no change(if I even putting the tape in right place. I tried several different ways) Nothing seems to work. My phone was manufactured between 19-25 of March 2012 so hopefully I can get warranty but not original owner so not sure. Does anyone have any idea what can cause this? Why hasn't Apple fixed this problem since its been happening for a long time

Verizon iPhone 5-UNLOCKED

There is an article today indicated that the Associated Press has discovered that the iPhone 5 from Verizon Wireless is unlocked and will work with an AT&T sim on the AT&T Network.  The article did not state if the phone will also work on other networks.  A Verizon spokesperson has verified that indeed their version of the iPhone 5 is unlocked.

I signed in icloud and put my phone in stollen mode using Find My Phone utility which is still pending. I got the sim blocked and reported to police. They will deal it in their own way. My question is: are there other methods to trace my phone?

i have a iphone 4, which over time has bent due to its battery heating up like crazy causing the metal bezel to bend over time, the front and back is shattered becouse of this, it didnt really bother to much until last week it kept saying "no sim"?? so i restored it to ios 6.1 from itunes. now its stuck on the activation screen.  i called up apple care and they made me do a full restore again while on the phone to them but still no luck stuck on the sim activation. the women from apple care told me i had 2 months warranty left and my iphone had a hardware issue and booked me a appointment with the genius bar. i wanted to know if the iphone being bent will affect my warranty? as it was not my fault????? thanks

How to turn on powered off iPhone without hardware buttons

Unable to connect to wireless Network Iphone 5

I just bought the Iphone 5 two days ago. I am having a lot of issues connecting to every other network but my own network at home At home I am using a N900 Cisco Router. The security settings on it are WPA2, My verizon carrier update is version 13.3 and I have updated to IO6.0.2. I have reset the phone to factory defualts, I have reset the network, I have powered off the phone and done everything I could to get them to work on this network.   Personal. Now I have been to my girlfriends parents and many other places that are public and even after double checking the password. the Iphone 5  From Trouble shooting: I have noticed that the Iphone 5 doesn't seem to like many security options on the routers. Even on my new router I tried several different security options and it seemed to like WPA2 the best. Othrwise I was getting major issues. The iphone would connect sometimes only to be slow and not connect. The wifi signal would keep being scanned and would go out and come back in. The signal strength also qould keep fluctuation even when near the router. My brothers same andriod device was doing the same thing. My brothers Iphone 5 was doing the same thing when using the different networks.  Apple there is a major problem here that needs to be addressed when refering to wifi. Considering most carriers now charge for data it is important that if I have access to all the wifi networks I can connect too. This is a major issue that needs to be resolved and looking at the forums it is not an isolated incident.  Recomendations: People who call in with this issue, need to have phones replaced if not able to patch, Since no patch exists at the moment, it would be prudent to offer people who are having trouble a credit towards their wireless bill by working with cell providers and to have apple issue a version of an RMA number. Until the issue is resolved. I have 17 days to return my phone to verizon and I am going to wait to hear back. My girlfriend is in the market for a new phone and we can't have issues with a wifi connection especially when charges are going to ensue if we go over our data. Plus the unavailability of a network in areas my cell provider is not able to help with is important. We as apple users need immediate attention to this matter and it is not a matter of how the phone scans for networks. It is an issue with connectivity and how it is communicating with certain encryptions with the routers. Fix need asap.  This issue is also not localized to the Iphone 5 as it is happening on the Ipad 4

Greetings, Cyber friends! (lol K. That intro did not work >.< )Anywhoo, I'll be getting a new iPhone 5 this week or next week, and I'm torn between the 32 GB and the 64 GB. I signed up a 3 years contract with my local phone carrier, so I need a GB that will sustain my needs for three long years.... -.-I owned a 16GB iPhone 4s for about a month, and quickly filled that up, but I CAN make more space by deleting apps/photos, if I wanted to. But this time is different since I'll be using this phone for a while, and I really don't want to regret the decision of choosing the wrong size.I'll probably have all my favorite songs stored in there because I don't own an iPod and my iPhone will practically serve as one. My iPhone will also serve as my camera since I do not currently own one, and I like to take pictures and videos & just keep them there on my phone. I won't be downloading any movies or music videos (that's for sure) coz I would rather watch videos on my Macbook. Plus, there is also YouTube. ^^ As for games I will probably download a bunch, just the games that I really enjoy and play most of the time, but there are new games every year, and some with bigger sizes than others. Most of my apps will probably just be photo editing apps/video editing apps since I am really into that.Well, that's pretty much it. Money is kinda tight. I can afford a 32 GB, but another extra 100 for the 64 GB, i'll have to work extra hard for that, and I really wouldn't want to waste money if I pick the wrong size. If I end up taking the 32 GB, what happens if I fill that space up quickly and will start hating my phone (lol)?If I end up taking the 64 GB, what happens if I don't fill the space up, and end up regretting paying an extra hundred bucks for spaces I won't even use?Thanks in advance!!

iPhone 5 S card modification

As I continue down the path of Appleization of my life (currently 2 macs, ipad, ipod touch and bunches of apps, books, movies and TV) it has become time for me to consider getting an iPhone.  My issue is related to the fact that I no longer allow myself to be exploited with "subsidized" phones from the service carriers but rather pay cash for every device and use a discount service.  My current provider costs me $45 with unlimited everything (except upgradable capped hi speed data that gets throttled over the limit).  Never a horrible surprise in my phone bill again!  I can add an additional line for just $10! So I want to add my iPhone as a second phone line.  The problem is my discount carrier only offers the mainstream sized SIM card.  I have read online that I can customize a regular sized SIM to mini and micro.  Can anyone verify if this is possible?  If its possible I will do it.  I'm even willing to go through a few SIM cards in the attempt ($25 a piece) if i'm sure success is reasonably possible. Would love to hear any bodies thoughts on this especially would love to hear if anyone has actually tried it. Thanks and kindest regards!

Intermittent lockup when powered iPhone 5

My IP5 intermittently locks up (frozen screen) when the charger cord is plugged in and the battery is charged to 100%.  At least, that's the only time I've noticed it.  As soon as I remove the charger cord, it works normally again.  Anyone else have this problem?  I'm wondering if this is a bug that Apple will have to address?

Iphone 5 hacked-about 30 emails sent out to what looks to be phishing website-TELUS customer

I left my iphone sitting on the dashboard of a taxi and forgot to lift it. As soon as I got out of the taxi, I remembered so I rang the taxi company to get it for me. I also rang the phone and it was turned off, which is strange as two minutes earlier it was on and it had a 80% battery life so I knew something was strange. Suprise suprise the taxi company never found it. I went on to icloud and put the phone (the device was called jacks iphone) in lost mode and tried to track it but it was offline so I could never find it. Now several weeks down the line I went back on to icloud and this mysterious device TonkhawiPhone7_ was in my list of devices. Its an iphone 4 as well. So could this be my iphone and the person who now has it has changed the name of the device? It doesn't appear to allow me to put it in lost mode for some reason. Can apple help me get my iphone back?  Thanks for reading

Bricked iPhone 5 error code-1 My Story

Around 5am this morning I picked up my phone to look at the time and noticed that it said 'searching.....'  where my carrier name should be, normally I get great signal in my home.  I didn't think much of it and went back to sleep.  When I woke up two hours later it still said 'searching' so I toggled airplane mode with no change.  I then powered the phone off with no change, next I did a hard reset by holding the power button and home button till it shut down.  Same result.  'searching.......' forever.  I then plugged my iPhone into my computer and loaded up itunes, it correctly identified my phone then asked me to backup and update it to 6.0.2 firmware.  Thinking that this may clear whatever bug may be affecting the 3g radio I accepted and started the process.  The phone backed up without issue (thank goodness) but then as it was about to complete the firmware update it threw a -1 error back.  Multiple re-attempts at restoring did not work.  The iPhone now just displays the 'connect to itunes'  screen.  A few minutes of searching revealed that it was most likely a hardware issue.  This phone has been babied, kept in a simple, low profile case, never dropped, no moisture whatsoever has touched it.  It really ***** that this would happen out of the blue like this.  Apple is taking care of me though, with no Apple retail shop anywhere close to me, they offered to cross-ship a new phone to me. I don't mind the hold on my credit card.  Should be here just after christmas.

iPhone 5 problems with LTE force closing apps siri and closing apps.

I got my iPhone 5 about 3 weeks ago, and it ran really smoothly out of the box. I hooked it up to my computer and began to restore from my previous ipod touch backup when I stopped it from syncing. I saw that it completely copying my ipod settings (homescreen and all), so I then changed some of the sync settings (only sync checked items, don't sync movies, etc.) and let the iPhone and computer do their thing. When it was done, I had to delete some bookmark apps on the homescreen and all of the pictures iTunes synced over from my old iPod. After I took everything off that I didn't want on the iPhone, I redownloaded the apps I wanted, and everything went hunky dory.  Then, I experienced my first problem. The weather app had trouble getting the weather for my current location, and it had nothing to do with the LTE of wifi network. I was able to get the other cities on the app, but it just wouldn't get my current location. It then began to work after a day or so. Either way, it wasn't a big deal to me. Then, a couple of days later, I was trying to call my friend while listening to a song by holding the pause button on the earbuds chord and waking siri up. I heard the noise that siri makes when she wants to listen to you, but then it turned off without letting me talk. This happened 3 or 4 times until I manually turned the screen on and called my friend. I then began to experience apps closing out of nowhere, which is so unlike the iPhone 5 because the chip is so fast. I was only running 2 apps in the background and was browsing on facebook when it happened. None of the apps were heavy on RAM, so it made absolutely no sense why it force closed. Apps tend to close about 3-4 times a week. Another problem I just faced today was with the music app. I was listening to a song when it began to skip and studder. When I restarted the song, it didn't happen again, but I noticed that the songs I was listening to were softer than I remembered and began to get louder and quieter without me doing anything. I soft restarted the iPhone and they were back to normal. This had nothing to do with the volume, as it was all the way up on the phone. However, the most annoying problem out of all of the issues is with the LTE. The speed is phenominal on Verizon (even faster than my wifi at times), but it sometimes takes a while to turn on when I come from an area where there is no service (in the subway tunnel) into an area with service again. It will take a while to turn on, and sometimes only the 3g comes on, which I then solve by going into settings and toggling the 4g switch off and back on again. However, there will be times where I leave my phone alone on my table for an hour or so. When this happens, the LTE gets stuck in off mode and I will not be able to go on the internet or use siri. It will still say LTE in the status bar, but I will not be able to get any cell service. Siri will say "Siri is unavailable", and making phone calls is also delayed. There is no way to fix it but soft resetting the phone, and everything goes back to normal afterwards. This is a brand new phone with the most up to date ios software. Can this all be the result of me doing a "restore from backup" instead of selecting "set up as new iphone"? Do these problems seem to be problems with the phone itself, or just with the software? I'm thinking it is the software, but I could be wrong.  Are any of these things, or similiar issues, happening to anyone else and did those of you fix it somehow? has else had problems with their phone over heating and shutting down iPhone 4

I've had my phone for less a month and I've already had issues with my iphone 4. On several occassions it has overheated and shut down. On one occasion I put the phone in the side pocket of my purse where, I also had a charger for my camera. When I removed the phone, it was hot...not warm but hot! On another occasion I was at the movies and put the phone face down on my lap, at one point i touched the phone and again it was hot. When the movie was over, and I looked at the phone it had shut down....this has happened a few  times more since then. I've also had problems with the phone shutting down on it's own. I took it to my local apple store and the representative looked at my phone and ran a diagnostic check for me. He said the everything on my phone looked normal and that my phone probably needs a "breaking in" period...to give it a couple of months...He really didn't tell me much more...I don't use my phone for more than the basics...calling, texting, and some mild app use...I don't understand how I can be having these problems when I've had my phone for less than a month...The rep tried selling my the Apple insurance. He told me that through ATT I only have 30 days, and I would be better off getting this insurance. I feel very dissastisfied with the service I got. I was done with my appointment within 10 mins, I don't think the representative took the time to listen to my concerns.

Need help pairing Jawbone Prime with iPhone 5

I've reset my Jawbone Prime. It goes into auto pairing mode. iPhone 5 sees "jawbone" but won't pair. Any advice? I've already tried the following protocols from online support communities. Thanks for your help, Janet  To reset your Jawbone Prime simply follow the steps listed below: 1. Press and hold down the Talk Button on the Jawbone Prime. (It does not matter whether the Prime is on or off.) 2. Connect the Jawbone Prime to the USB charger cable. (The cable needs to be plugged into an active USB port or to an electrical outlet via the Wall Charger unit.) 3. Release the Talk Button. 4. Disconnect the Jawbone Prime from the USB charger cable. Turn on the Jawbone. It should begin to flash red every six seconds when it is turned on. While it is flashing red press the following sequence of buttons. NoiseAssassin Button, Talk Button, Talk Button, NoiseAssassin Button, Talk Button, Talk Button The Jawbone should flash red/white/red/white showing that it is in a manual pairing mode. Pairing mode will last for three minutes or until pairing is complete. THIRD : powered up iphone 4 while Jawbone flashing red/white. Turned on Bluetooth ( Settings / General /Bluetooth ON ). Jawbone PAIRED with iphone4 AUTOMATICALLY ( no request for 0000 code ) and Jawbone flashes WHITE when paired and on. I tried this too:i was having problems with pairing my "JAWBONE" bluetooth device. i followed the directions and still nothing. i turned on the bluetooth on my iphone the auto search kept searching for devices but nothing would show up. i called tech support and was told to go to "settings" then switch the "airplane mode" on and off several times then turn the bluetooth on and off and then back on. it started worked instantly!  

Iphone 4 can't restore

Hello Developers, I have a big problem. I have bought an Iphone 4G from a girlfirend of mine. She said that the Iphone has to be send to the AppleService, because she could not turn it on. I tried to restore it via iTunes but with no success. At the middle (the end) it comes a notify (An unkown issue occurd. Iphone could not....ERROR -1. "Latest iTunes.C:WindowsSystem32driversetchost  - checked---Tried several times, also on other pc'sWin7USB-Cable works..."Brand" T-Mobile (Austria) So i came to the mind to make a cfw without Basebandupdate....; It worked but with no service; bluetooth and wifi are greyed. .Please help... "She said that it happend when she updated it from iOS 4.0.1 to iOS 6.0.1 ...I just want to use the Iphone..Please help... IShe also noticed that the Iphone 4 worked for three days with the iOS 6 .
