iOS 6.1.4 Overheating High Battery Consumption iPhone 5

Having issues with iOS 6.1.4 heating up (in standby) and high battery consumption in standby. It's not consistant but I will, sporatically, notice my phone warming up, in my pocket, to pull it out, turn the screen on and then off again and it'll cool down.Battery consumption is also very high (worse than iOS 6.1 update issue) and is drained quickly. I've closed all active applications (but mail and calendar as I need for work) and still will occur.

iPhone 5 not ringing or alerting of texts calls going to voice mail

My iPhone 5 recently started having problems with the ringer.  The ringer will be turned all the way up, the mute button is NOT being used and the phone will not ring for calls or alert for texts.  It is not always happening, but more so than not.  I have tried rebooting the phone, the OIS is up to date and I do not have the "Do Not Disturb" set.  I can be in the same spot with LTE and full signal have a call/text that is missed then receive a call/text and it rings.  Does not seem to matter if the call is coming from a land line, same Verizon carrier cell or different carrier cell there is no noticable reason.  Any ideas???

built in speaker on my iPhone 5 sounding grainy and scratchy. have fix

So last night I was talking via speaker phone and suddenly noticed that the sound quality was horrible.  It was extremely grainy and scratchy sounding.  At first I thought it was just something with the call quality so I turned off the speaker and talked on the phone normally.  Later I got an e-mail and noticed that the tone that it made also sounded scratchy.  So I tried playing a song through the iPhone speaker and sure enough that was awful too.   I know it's the internal speaker because the music played fine through headphones.  Has anyone experienced this before?  If so, how did you go about fixing it? Thank you!

iPhone 4 battery drain when powered off

Lately I've been turning off my phone and when I turn it back on battery is drained. Yesterday I turned it off at 80% and when I turned it back on 3 hours later it was at 62%. Then today I turned it off at 50% and when I turned it back on it was at 32%! Does anyone know why my iPhone is losing battery even when it's completely powered off? I feel like it shouldn't be losing any battery at all

Brand New iPhone 5 Terrible Battery Life

I recently purchased an iPhone 5 (Monday, May 6th) and am convinced that the battery is defective. I attempted to get the phone replaced by AT&T since it is within their 14-day Return/Exchange policy, but of course they denied me based on it being a "technical" issue and therefore a problem I need to take up with Apple. Wifi greyed out on Iphone 4s

All of a sudden I lost my wifi signal....Checked out the settings and the WiFi is off and unable to turn it back on....i have powered down the phone...i have done a full restore and the wifi switched remains greyed out....any suggestions?

iPhone 4s mail App using Gmail-Username or password for account incorrect

I recently changed my Gmail password for my Gmail account while on my desktop pc. Then on my iPhone 4s, I configured the Google app (for the first time) for my Gmail account. This worked fine. I went back to the default iPhone mail app (in Settings) which was already configured with my Gmail account (and was previously working). I figured I would be prompted to change my password - which I was. But it wouldn't accept the change. So I then deleted the account and tried to set it up again. It still won't work. It continues to say the username or password for the account is incorrect.  Can you not have the same Gmail account configured in both places - the mail app and the Google app? Thoughts?Thanks!Lori

Bought mail+ from the store. It won't connect even though I have given it correct the Comcast email adddress, password and incoming domain at least 6 times. It tries to connect for 4-5 minutes and then times out and makes me reenter everything. Two requests for help from their customer service have not been answered in last 48 hours and I'm about to dump the app and move on but I paid for it so hate to give up. Any suggestions?

Multiple iPhone 4S issues continuing

I am tired of my iPhone 4S already after suffering through issues upon issues with the device. My screen is having issues now where at a moment's chance it goes dim. I have to reset the device to get the brightness back to normal. I've tried restoring without any luck of this resolving. Another gripe I have is that I'm continuing to have issues with apps like mail, Safari, and other Apple installed apps just continuously force closing. I've been sending emails back and forth on my iPhone only to have mail force close and I lose everything in my message. The phone acts sluggish and performs worse than previous 4S devices I've owned. I've had issues upon issues across multiple iPhone 4S devices. The device I have currently is my 5th iPhone 4S and even tho its less than a few months old after it was sent to me after multiple filler iPhones of refurb models from the store, I continue to experience issues that make me use my iPhone less and less as it becomes more unreliable with the crashes and multiple restores. My closest store is not within close distance so that's made owning an iPhone with issues difficult as not every thread on the communities forum touch on half the problems I continue to have. Thankfully at least Siri knows where I'm located compared to my other devices where she always thought I was in Pittsburgh where I picked the phone up at my nearest store over an hour and a half away. Now everything just seems to be more of a deficiency with iOS and the hardware than anything. Obviously there must be something wrong with the latest stocks of 4S devices if my issues are continuing. When I restore I'm always setting up as a new device. I'm never downloading or redownloading anything from my Mac or PC. Everything is just redownloading apps from iCloud within the App Store and having a ton of missing photos in my photo stream. I just don't understand what is wrong with my iPhone. I never experienced these kind of issues with my iPhone 3GS so its hard to swallow how terrible the 4S has performed with every single device I keep getting. I'm at a loss on what I can do. Does anyone have any tips I should try that Apple hasn't provided me with to fix or at least band-aid the issue long enough till I can upgrade with my carrier?

Phone volume low. iPhone 4S

My phone volume is very low only for calls. I use the Voxer walkie talkie app and the ear piece volume is loud, but as soon as I make a call or listen to a voice mail, the volume is near mute as max volume. Any solutions?!

I have an Iphone 5... I cannot make calls or receive calls. I reset network settings and  I have reset the SIMS card and I am still having the same problem.  My husband is on the same cell service as I am and he is not having any problems.    When I try to make a call - it goes directly to call ended - when people try to call me it goes directly to my voice mail. on the left hand side at the top all it says is seraching - my wifi is connected... i also keep getting NO Service..  Can anyone help? Thanks

Battery life-iphone 4

Well I tried turning off the Bluetooth, turning off WIFI, turning off location services, and all Push activity.  After all of this my battery lasts about 8 hours.  I guess I could keep the phone powered off but I think that kind of defeats the purpose of owning the phone. Any studies on the lifespan of an iPhone 4 battery?  My applecare warranty runs out in a few months.

My mom passed me her phone as she couldn't get it to restart.  I got it to charge and restart in recovery mode.  However, I've tried all steps on this and many other forums and it is stuck in "trying to restore".  On the phone, it will blink a white screen, show the apple logo and a progress bar then quickly disappear then on the computer give me error code 9.  I have tried 3 different cords, on both my MacBook Air and my iMac.  Same results on both computers.  She purchased a new phone as she couldn't do without, but would love to fix this phone and give to one of my children.  This phone has not been jailbroken.  Any help would be sooooo appreciated!  Not sure what will happen if I try to take this to Apple.

Iphone 5 no longer connecting to bluetooth in car

My Iphone 5 has been connected succesfully via bluetooth to my car for the past 5 months (Ford Fiesta).  Yesterday I went to use it and it wont connect, I powered off the phone, turned bluetooth on/off still not working. I debonded all phones from the car and went to start afresh but that wont work either. When it is searching for devices it just seems to be stuck?  I tried another Iphone 5 in my car and that connected no problems at all. Anyone have any ideas, it clearly must be the phone but wonder what on earth I have done.

Dying iPhone 5

I have been having multiple problems with my iphone 5 and ive only had it for 6 months. I have been restoring it to factory settings on a regular basis however it still has been having problems (more and more frequent.      #1 Teathering. I have been having trouble teathering off of my phone. (i tried several devices to rule my macbook out of the troubleshooting, nothing works) No device picks up my wifi or bluetooth personal hotspot. My macbook does not even recognize my USB connection in network settings.      #2 My wifi on the phone is also a hassle. It has been becoming more and more intermittant, but rarely works. I have tried multiple networks with the same result.      #3 My phone has become generally slow especially for safari and mail. On wifi, they dont work at all. on 3G, and LTE, the phone has also become very slow and often won't load at all. As stated above, restoring used do fix everything but that fix has become very short term, and often hasn't been working at all. Can someone help me?

How I sync apps from same iTunes account to an iPhone 3G and an iPhone 4S and keep correct version for each iOS

I have an old 3G as well as a 4S. Initially I set up a separate iTunes account for the 4S as I was worried I'd lose my old apps for 3G (as older, compatible versions aren't kept in the iTunes store so once they're gone, they're gone...). 3G is set up to sync with iTunes, 4S is inly syncing mail and conatcts through Exchange but hasn't been synced with an iTunes library for the reason above. Is there a way to sync both phones off the same iTunes account, so I can set up each phone with some music, as well as apps, without iOS 5 versions overwriting the exisitng apps for the 3G? To complicate things further, I don't want to sync photos, contacts, messages, etc. I just want to avoid having to duplicate all my music and pay for all the apps all over again. I just purchased the iPhone 5 coming from a Samsung Galaxy S3. Where I work, I do not receive cell phone service so I rely heavily on the WiFi to receive emails and iMessages.  I've noticed that if the phone sits for a few minutes, the wireless will shut itself off and as soon as I press the home or power button, the wireless kicks in and I get a flood of iMessages and an e-mail chime.  On the Samsung, there was an option to keep the wireless on all the time and my question is: Is there a way to keep the phone connected to a WiFi connection all the time so I don't get a delay in messages and emails? I know battery life will suffer and that isn't an issue to me. I just need it to stay connected so I'm not replying to messages 2 hours later when I pick up the phone.  Thanks,

iPhone battery loses 15 overnight iPhone 5

I have the iPhone 5 that I got the day it came out last September. The battery has always been pretty bad, but lately overnight it loses about 10-15%. I have to charge my phone every night, and I go to bed with it at 100% when I wake up a few hours later (about 5 hours) it's down to about 85%. I always make sure that no apps are open, I turn off the wifi, data, location and I don't get push notifications for mail. I also have do not disturb on and don't get any texts. It's not only over night, when using my phone I lose about 5% within 5 minutes. Is there any way to fix this, I'm always having to charge my phone. I have done the calibration before, charging it to 100 then let it get to 0 then charge it to 100. Can I fix this at all?

Since the ios6.0 update, deleted contacts can't be deleted from the new message case. It is amazing that more people are not aware of the problem and are speaking out about it. As a professor, I have new students whose contacts I input into my iPhone each semester after sending a text mail the contact cannot be deleted from the "new message" cashe. It can be deleted from contacts but remains in the cashe. The only way to delete the cashe is a full restore. Resetting does not even work. Restoring is a horrible way to delete contacts permanently. I have contacted Apple repeatedly. They are aware of the problem but do not seem to be concerned. With each update, I expect the bug to be fixed. I hope to get the attention of Samsung with this. I know they could create another embarrassing ad campaign and Apple will resolve the issue in seconds. Apple is not the great company it used to be.

Hi all,  I bough an Iphone 5 in Boston last month in the way to use it in Spain. It worked propertly, but two days ago I realised that one of the volume buttons doesn't work. I have called to Spain apple support. There, they have told me that my warranty is OK, but as it seems to be a hardware problem I should go to a shop to obtain a "new" one but as Europe Iphones are not exactly equal to USA Iphones, I should go to a USA apple shop to change it. Does someone know if I could send my iphone by mail (or something like that) to USA and then, they could send me another oner or the same but repaired from there?. HELP Problem with iPhone 4 screen color Discoloration and Image Persistence

Hi guys! I had this problem about 3 months ago. I started having this when I took a screen shot of a game then suddenly after the flash, the colors changed.Yesterday it came back to normal for the first time but after several minutes, it went back to the distorted colos mode.  Here are some pictures of the actual screen condition. You can see the problem here. The icons have a bit of a dark shade in their middle parts, but when I touch and select an icon, it shows their normal colors.*Look at the VIDEO ICON, PHOTO ICON and PHONE ICON.As you can see in this image, it's like on a thermal camera mode. LOL! it also has a large amount of image persistence in it.  In this image, you can see that the lower part of the screen is missing (blackened) and has some image persistence too. You can also see the difference in color of the messages tab.Image color is different and has image persistence too. The colors are different and the screens bottom part is darkened.  One thing I noticed here is that when the accesive touch button menu is active, the icons behind it get their normal colors back.*take a look a the APP STORE ICON, mail ICON, SAFARI ICON, CONTACTS ICON and PASSBOOK ICON    Any help guys? Is there any software that can fix this or any method you know? If there's anyone who have the same problem and has encountered the same problem, kindly reply and post some solutions.Thanks in advanced for those who will read this post and give me some answers!

if T-MOBILE version of iPhone 5 will be sold in apple stores

I don't mean the factory unlocked a1428 version that'll be sold by apple at retail price. I mean the t-mobile version that'll be locked to t-mobile only as an you'll put down the $99 and pay the $20 EIP. Will apple sell the tmo iPhone 5 just like they do for Verizon AT&T and Sprint? The reason I ask is because it would be much more convenient for me to pick it up from Apple than to sign up with t-mobile and wait for it to arrive in the mail for god knows how long.

After complete restore of iPhone 4 it still keeps turning off and has to be powered up again

We have been having trouble with our iPhone 4. It will just die. I researched the web and was able to find the information to restart it by pushing both buttons. This resets it, but does not last. I did a complete reset on the phone then updated it, but it continues to turn off and has to be restarted. It is out of warranty, any help would be great.

On day #3 the camera stopped working.The battery started over-heating.The battery won't charge or when charged it runs down in about 3 hours.In Hungary Apple Store would have nothing to do with it, because it was not bought there.I took it back to the shop in Oman, but the shop won't replace or refund.They are instead offering to change the motherboard, which is not acceptable to me. Details of the phone are below.Attched also is the shop's memo.  I don't know how to contact Apple by mail.Please, help. Kofi. Iphone 5 battery life great after ios 6.1.3 update

Hello Folks, Created this thread so that people know that not every iPhone 5 has a bad battery issue. I got the iPhone 5 32 GB Unlocked version last week and i was going through all the forums checking the battery issues people had since updating their iOS version. I saw that a lot of people have issues with their battery which put me on backfoot for upgrading the OS. Then too i took the leap of faith with the thought that it is "Apple!!" a premium brand.. And i am glad i did. Now i know a lot of people had issues with the ios 6.1.3 Upgrade. But for me it was smooth. When i got the phone i was by default on 6.0.2 and battery life was ok. It was les than ATT Galaxy S3 i had before as in they battery used to die in 14-16 hours which was not bad i would say.  Since i upgraded, it was on 100% in the night at 12:30 AM. I woke up, and it was still 100%. So stand by battery is super awesome after the upgrade. As for the usage now, it is 4:30 PM here in NY and the battery is about 55%. The stats that i see is 17 hours stand by time and 6 hours usage. So i beleive my battery life is improved. Also my LTE is off as we dont have it in Long Island. In the night I was on Wifi, I am in office now and wifi is disabled, listened to an hour of music on spotify, notifications are off for all the useless apps, mail frequency is 1 hour, use whatsapp a lot. Thats it. So atleast for me, the upgrade was a beneifit. And the battery life has difinitely improved.  PS: I have not created the thread to poke people with battery issues, just an FYI to people that not everyone is having battery issues. Peace....

Where can i express my disappointment for an apple authorised service iPhone 5

Is there any e-mail that i can contact with apple customer service directly ? Because here in greece cosmote is destroying apple's name . I went for a service there 1 and a half month ago and by that time i had my iphone 5 only for four days , and the problem was with the chipset . They didn't give me a new one and i waited for 3 weeks until it finally came back and they told me that they changed the whole chipset !!!! Now i have a big problem with crashes and tune on/off without touching it . As you can see i am very disappointed . So plz any help is welcome .  Thank you!! ( i have every single one of iphones .)

Verizon Iphone 4s 32GB alerts not working correctly

Hi, I have a Iphone 4s (32GB) that i got at a verizon store this past summer (May-Aug 2012). I'm currently only using 7.3GB of it (so i don't really have a ton of stuff on it), and i always close my apps after i use them.  I am having an issue with the alerts. In my settings i have the notifications for imessages/text messages, and mail to be 'on' with Alert as the Alert style, badge app icon on, show preview, view in lock screen, etc on. BUT whenever i will get emails it will viberate once, but the email wont pop up as an alert, i will manually have to go to my mail to see what it is. Also, with text messages i can get a text message and my phone wont even viberate or send me an alert for it, i will just randomly have a 1 on the messages icon. Is there a recall or something that would explain why my phone is doing this? I am puzzeled, because i take really good care of my phone and am confused why this would be happeneing- because i do all the right things to keep it working for as long as possible. Thank you!

iPhone mail Application Help

When I was searching through my iPhone today, I noticed that a lot of my old emails from my various accounts appeared. I tried deleting my email accounts and putting them back on to see if the old emails would disappear for good. Unfortunately, that did not happen. Is there a software glitch in the mail application? Will Apple fix this problem in another software update? Do I need to change some settings in my email accounts? This is driving me mad and it is so annoying to see old emails just lingering around.
