Lately I've been turning off my phone and when I turn it back on battery is drained. Yesterday I turned it off at 80% and when I turned it back on 3 hours later it was at 62%. Then today I turned it off at 50% and when I turned it back on it was at 32%! Does anyone know why my iPhone is losing battery even when it's completely powered off? I feel like it shouldn't be losing any battery at all
All of a sudden I lost my wifi signal....Checked out the settings and the WiFi is off and unable to turn it back on....i have powered down the phone...i have done a full restore and the wifi switched remains greyed out....any suggestions?
Hi, I have an iPhone 4S with wifi button grayed out similar to the case here http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1559andhttps://discussions.apple.com/thread/4638071?start=0&tstart=0 I already performed a network reset, reset to factory setting and updated eveything via itunes. I know that its most likely a hardward issue as stated in the forum. Now here is the problem. I bought the iphone from a local (philippines) online reseller http://lazada.com.ph. Lazada would only give the the apple 1-800-1441-0234 number and will not accept any repairs and service. I would never purchase anything from lazada specially electronics because of how they handled my case. Absolutely no support and repair /service channels for iphones bought from them. As per lazadas advice, I called the 1800 number and was again adviced to call the local carriers. I was adviced by the apple chat support to contact my local carriers. Local carriers like smart and globe would only accept repairs and service for iphones bought from them. I visited several local apple reseller stores and they decline to render service because the unit was not bought from them. I cant seem to get technical support and have the iphone checked by an authorized service center. What and where is the proper channel for me to get support and have the unit repaired or replaced? Thank you in advance.
Well I tried turning off the Bluetooth, turning off WIFI, turning off location services, and all Push activity. After all of this my battery lasts about 8 hours. I guess I could keep the phone powered off but I think that kind of defeats the purpose of owning the phone. Any studies on the lifespan of an iPhone 4 battery? My applecare warranty runs out in a few months.
My mom passed me her phone as she couldn't get it to restart. I got it to charge and restart in recovery mode. However, I've tried all steps on this and many other forums and it is stuck in "trying to restore". On the phone, it will blink a white screen, show the apple logo and a progress bar then quickly disappear then on the computer give me error code 9. I have tried 3 different cords, on both my MacBook Air and my iMac. Same results on both computers. She purchased a new phone as she couldn't do without, but would love to fix this phone and give to one of my children. This phone has not been jailbroken. Any help would be sooooo appreciated! Not sure what will happen if I try to take this to Apple.
Went to apple store last week with a cracked screen on my 4S. It was out-of-warranty so they provided me with a refurb unit. Did a restore on the refurbed unit from icloud (running ios 6.1.3) and ever since then I've been having problems. The phone feels like it is overheating, the 3G only works intermittently, apps keep crashing and freezing, and the phone turns itself off at random intervals. I read online about the potential issues with exchange calendars, so I've turned off any calendars on my phone. Other than that, does anyone know how I can fix this issue? Is it hardware related, or is there something else I can do to improve performance? Thanks in advanceDan
My Iphone 5 has been connected succesfully via bluetooth to my car for the past 5 months (Ford Fiesta). Yesterday I went to use it and it wont connect, I powered off the phone, turned bluetooth on/off still not working. I debonded all phones from the car and went to start afresh but that wont work either. When it is searching for devices it just seems to be stuck? I tried another Iphone 5 in my car and that connected no problems at all. Anyone have any ideas, it clearly must be the phone but wonder what on earth I have done.
needed help to maximize the use of the iphone unit if the problem could be solved thank you
You're not addressing Apple here, just iPhone users, please don't provide your personal data like serial/imei numbers Have you tried this article? http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3424

My iPhone 4s is not charging. Last few days it was eating up the battery life quicker than usual. Tried doing all the power up deals, turning off then on, even a restore. It is now completely powered off and not turning on even when plugged in. I'm out of ideas. A little help please! Thanks
Okay guys, Here is my issue with some backstory; Bought a black 64gb iPhone 5 new as soon as they first came out.No issue. I upgrade my iOS as soon as updates come out, and this issue has been present since I upgraded to iOS 6.1.And has not been fixed since then. I sent a feedback form to apple before 6.1.2 was released, now even at 6.1.3 the issue has not been fixed. It's difficult to describe, and very hard to find anyone else with the same issue online, as the keywords used are similar to many other issues. Basically, when my phone is locked and the screen is off, I press a button, no response, this can be any button, even trying to power down the unit, but nothing happens. I can plug in the charger, no sound, no vibration, but 30-60 seconds later, the screen will come on, the phone will vibrate, and it will make a sound. Everything is back to normal. I've tried restoring, but it doesn't fix the problem, I would think it's a software issue as it only became an issue after I upgraded to iOS 6.1. This isn't an isolated incident as my girlfriend who I also set up with a black 16gb iPhone 5 is also having the exact same issue. There doesn't appear to be any sort of trigger that causes it, it can happen once a day, or once every few days, or 10 times in 2 hours! It's not a huge issue I know, but it has led to missing calls, and even missing bids on eBay etc. I'm just here to see if anyone else is experiencing this issue, and to see if there's a proper way to describe this... freezing? unresponiveness? And perhaps this might help other people with the same issue if we find a way to resolve it. Thanks for reading!
I have dropped my iphone 4s and the camera lens has been shattered, I think there may be possible damage to the actual camera unit itself, I was wondering how much it would be to replace it ? I am still within my two year apple care period.
I have an iphone 4s boxed, brandnew and unopened for a year not until March 2013, for a couple of days i have used it, worked excellent but after i have unlocked it through at&t and updated it to IOS 6.1.3 it went to re-activation mode again. Tried several times to activate it but no succeess. I went to an apple store to discuss the problem of the update and consequently the result it brought to my iphone4s but denied a replacement because it was passed the warranty period. I was offered a replacement (for a fee) of $200 but i refused since i believe i havent enjoyed the iphone for years, has not even dropped, water-damaged nor scratched. The manager on duty (Mary, Fairview Mall, Ontario) insisted that my iphone 4s has a growing software problem already and i just dont know of... I reiterated to her that the unit was working as brandnew just like many of my apple products i have. I havent called the apple support telephone support though. What should i do now? Please help guys. I cannot take it paying another $200 for an iphone that was practically brandnew and went useless after the update. I have a record of the at&t authorized unlocking request. Should i escalate the appeal to where? Please help.. Thanks a lot guys.
We have been having trouble with our iPhone 4. It will just die. I researched the web and was able to find the information to restart it by pushing both buttons. This resets it, but does not last. I did a complete reset on the phone then updated it, but it continues to turn off and has to be restarted. It is out of warranty, any help would be great.
I got some Trader Joes peanut butter in the ear slit at top of the unit and now it sounds really funny.. I am not sure what is going on in there. It's an IPHONE 5 and under warranty..
Iphone 4S. The lock symbol appeared and we could not get the slide function to work after pressing the home key.Tried a soft reboot (lock and home key), then a hard reboot. Neither fixed it.linked into Itunes and updated the OS to latest after backing up the unit.the slide function will dither but not move across to unlock the phone. the good news is the lock symbol is gone. the conclusion is the touchscreen has gone bad? any other suggestions. Is there a touchscreen recalibrate function? Thanks
I just started to get a SIM Failure Pop up on my iphone 5on Thursday while traveling and using Maps fornavigation. I cannot seem to remove or repair this error.I have gone to yoru support page and followedinstructions on how to reset network.I first tried to send a text and failure came up. Then resetnetwork and text went through, but pop up still came upwith Sim Failure every time I turn my phone on.I also followed instructions to remove Sim Card whenturned off and Reinserted it and that did not work either. What do I do? I have powered off, updated phone andanything on yoru site I couldl handle myself to do.Can you fix this? Or is it a Verizon Wireless issue?
After a series of complaints and refurbished replacements of my iphone 4 for its home button issue, apple agreed upon giving me an iphone 5 - box packed and brand new. I was super excited that apple finally took responsibility and just then i had 2 bad experiences with my iphone 5 in less than 48 hours of use! 1st - the music volume on the ear pods is extremely low even on full volume. Have checked the volume limit, have verified there is no EU limit, have restored the phone as new! 2nd - the battery life *****! Like i said i have restored the phone a new. There have already been 3 updates to ios 6 and its high time this got solved. In less than 2 days i have charged my phone 3 times. I have listened to music on it for less than an hour so far, about 2 hours of calls on 3g, there is no LTE over here, and finally about 3 hours of facebook and whats app in past two days. Offcourse about 5 or so pictures i took to test the camera. Today i unplugged the phone at about 8 am. Its 3:25 and the battery is dead!!! Can u believe it, they shipped this unit from singapore and i waited for it for nearly 20 days. And in less than 2 days i hate it! I am gonna re calibrate the battery this time and come back here and post what happens. Till then, can someone tell me how can i make this thing sound the way it should. Cause right now the volume is just low. Neerav Kothari I have checked it on the bundles earpods, the ones i purchased separately and the iphone 4 bundles earphone.
I dropped my iPhone from waist height flat onto the back (I have a zoogue case on it), and now grey vertical lines appear down the left side of the screen. I have powered off holding the home/power button, but nothing changed. I can't swipe to unlock it, so I can't type in my password in order to back it up over the cloud/my computer before resetting it. Has this happened to anyone? Suggestions? Home fixes? Or am I helpless?
When I thoch my device on backgroud, close to back camera, he reproduze a soud of a loose piece inside the unit, some one have this problem? Thanks
Hello Apple Commuinty, Recently my partners iphone will not let her to connect to WiFi as On/Off selection under WiFi is greyed out. We have tried all info shown in article TS1559 and still no joy. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks,Mike
I have iPhone 4S it has a H2o SIM card that's worked for about 6 months no problem then one day it said SIM card failure I powered phone on/off once and started working again. Two weeks later it took 3-4 times of me cycling power on/off and removing SIM card and reinstalling it in order to get it to work. Then a week later it did same thing but took even longer. Now it won't read at all and I thought it was SIM card so I went and bought a new SIM card but no change, I looked online for help and even tried to put tape on tray/card like someone said but no change(if I even putting the tape in right place. I tried several different ways) Nothing seems to work. My phone was manufactured between 19-25 of March 2012 so hopefully I can get warranty but not original owner so not sure. Does anyone have any idea what can cause this? Why hasn't Apple fixed this problem since its been happening for a long time
There is an article today indicated that the Associated Press has discovered that the iPhone 5 from Verizon Wireless is unlocked and will work with an AT&T sim on the AT&T Network. The article did not state if the phone will also work on other networks. A Verizon spokesperson has verified that indeed their version of the iPhone 5 is unlocked.
Hello! I want to thank you for opening my iPhone, everything would be fine, but there is one small disappointment, the unit of Internet phone will turn into a phone, it sees the network operator's 3g network, but when trying to connect to the Internet, says that the network is not , tried several sIM cards of different operators, but all the same. Wore to the repair shop of my carrier, but I was told that the machine is OK, but the problem in the software. Excuse me for disturbing you, but please understand me without internet iPhone does not mean anything, just ask to take part in my problemme. Thanks in advance for your help. Sincerely Igor.Serial Number: 5K*****A4TThank you for making my request <Edited by Host>
This is correct. This is how it works. Apple does not repair iphones at all. They replace it with a service unit - likely refurbed, but good as new. This is exactly how it works. You have no choice in the matter. The warranty is clear about this. Sorry
FYI guys. I powered down my phone for a couple hours, then went back to the App Store. It had a fifth update, but this time it allowed me to complete my updates. Dunno if that helps you guys.
Hi, Just sent my iphone 5 back to apple after poor battery life since did ios 6.1 update, has anybody else had this problem? Also Apple say they are sending me a replacement unit, is this new or refurb? Many thanks.
As stated, iphone4S is the smartest phone available. I lost my iphone4S recently and the person who took it, immediately powered it off. I signed in icloud and put my phone in stollen mode using Find My Phone utility which is still pending. I got the sim blocked and reported to police. They will deal it in their own way. My question is: are there other methods to trace my phone?
Im a iphone5 user, also I am using the IOS 6.1 system.but nowadays I am facing to a terrible problem. The phone suddenly powered off when I open a app on the phone, and the screen become black slowly, and then the white apple come here. after that, sometimes it may become good. but the problem is still exist.
A few days ago, the LED light came on and won't turn off - not even when powered down. I do not have any flashlight apps or anything that uses it other than the camera, what should I do?
updated to the 6.1 last week. I have a app for a local news paper that I pay a monthly fee to read on line and now since the update I have to sign in every time I read a diffrent article. What changed?
Today I dropped my iPhone 4S and the back glass has spider-webbed. The glass around the camera/flash cracked, but both the camera and flash are still functioning, and nothing else seems to have been affected on the phone. I do not have AppleCare, but have an appointment at the Apple Store for tomorrow. I've been reading online that people have been able to get the back glass replaced for around $30 at the Genius Bar, but is this with AppleCare coverage? Or for anyone?Or if I would end up having to replace my iPhone, does anyone have a clue as to how much a replacement 4S 16 GB unit is, again without AppleCare? Would love to hear from someone who's had a similar situation to mine. Thanks!
I'm trying to turn on my iPhone. It's powered off, and the lock button is broken. I think it turns itself back on when charged from 0%, but it was at 100% before this occurred, so it would take forever to drain the battery. Is there a way to kick the iPhone into being powered on?
I have an iphone 4 that is less than a year old that stopped taking a charge. So I let tje units battery die and one day decided to plug it in. It gav me the battery icon and indicated it was charging. As soon as it powered itself on it no longer showed the battery was charging and died a few minutes later. I'm really confuses by this. Any suggestions?
I've recently bought an iPhone 4S 64 GBs (Purchase date: 29, October 2012) and few days ago, it was dropped of a 50 cm height and the front glass is broken. My question is: Can you provide me with information about replacement or repairs?Attached is a copy of a message sent on a thread of Apple discussionshttps://discussions.apple.com/thread/2606946"Dr_Pangloss USARe: iPhone 4 - Broken glassMar 14, 2011 7:19 AM (in response to verrucktftw)I broke the front glass on my iPhone 4 yesterday (March 12th, 2011) and took the phone back to the local Apple Store. The Apple Genius asked me how long I'd owned the phone and I told him I bought it on launch day. He then said that Apple would swap the unit immediately at no cost. Mind you, I didn't have Apple Care on my iPhone 4 either, they just immediately swapped the phone for me, no questions asked and at no cost. I didn't expect this treatment but needless to say, I was extremely pleased. When I broke the glass, I pulled out my old iPhone 3G and thought I'd swap the SIM card from my iPhone 4 over, use my 3G and send my iPhone 4 off to be repaired. The problem was, the iPhone 4's use the new micro-SIM cards and the 3G's use the older, larger SIMs. I went to the Apple store to find an adapter and instead, I got a new phone without even asking for it. The Apple Genius did tell me that this is a one-time replacement and if I broke the glass again, it would cost me.Hence, I'm not sure what to make of the varying experiences I'm reading about in this thread but I was extremely pleased with how Apple handled my cracked screen."Thanks a lot in advance... iPhone 4 - Broken glassiPhone 4 - Broken glass: Apple Support Communities discussions.apple.com
iPhone 4s display has an irregular curved pattern on it, like a faint contour map. This condition happened when the unit was safely tucked away in my brief case, not dropped or exposed to anything. It was preceeded, yesterday, by the iPhone acting really weird, not responding, etc. Then today the phone works fine, but the idsplay screen has this water-y pattern on it. Any ideas? Many thanks.

I just bought the Iphone 5 two days ago. I am having a lot of issues connecting to every other network but my own network at home At home I am using a N900 Cisco Router. The security settings on it are WPA2, My verizon carrier update is version 13.3 and I have updated to IO6.0.2. I have reset the phone to factory defualts, I have reset the network, I have powered off the phone and done everything I could to get them to work on this network. Personal. Now I have been to my girlfriends parents and many other places that are public and even after double checking the password. the Iphone 5 From Trouble shooting: I have noticed that the Iphone 5 doesn't seem to like many security options on the routers. Even on my new router I tried several different security options and it seemed to like WPA2 the best. Othrwise I was getting major issues. The iphone would connect sometimes only to be slow and not connect. The wifi signal would keep being scanned and would go out and come back in. The signal strength also qould keep fluctuation even when near the router. My brothers same andriod device was doing the same thing. My brothers Iphone 5 was doing the same thing when using the different networks. Apple there is a major problem here that needs to be addressed when refering to wifi. Considering most carriers now charge for data it is important that if I have access to all the wifi networks I can connect too. This is a major issue that needs to be resolved and looking at the forums it is not an isolated incident. Recomendations: People who call in with this issue, need to have phones replaced if not able to patch, Since no patch exists at the moment, it would be prudent to offer people who are having trouble a credit towards their wireless bill by working with cell providers and to have apple issue a version of an RMA number. Until the issue is resolved. I have 17 days to return my phone to verizon and I am going to wait to hear back. My girlfriend is in the market for a new phone and we can't have issues with a wifi connection especially when charges are going to ensue if we go over our data. Plus the unavailability of a network in areas my cell provider is not able to help with is important. We as apple users need immediate attention to this matter and it is not a matter of how the phone scans for networks. It is an issue with connectivity and how it is communicating with certain encryptions with the routers. Fix need asap. This issue is also not localized to the Iphone 5 as it is happening on the Ipad 4
I got a new iPhone 5 model A1428 from the Apple store on line. It is supposed to replace my stolen 4S. I live in Germany. Have had no problem with my Telekom.de service with the 4S. But with the 5, after I get the iPhone set up, and establish conectivity on the T Mobile cellular network (ie: I can use Safari to connect to the web through the cellular network) the device just loses the cellular connection. The local Apple retail store in Sindelfingen Germany said there's nothing they can do. Does anyone know a fix? Or must I return this unit (which Apple advertises as a "world phone") to apple and just give up using apple???
For almost two months now, I've had to charge my phone through my iMac only, and any computer I can find when I'm not home. Chargers plugged into outlets do not work at all, and I'm 100% sure that my cable, charging unit, and outlets are functioning correctly. I've reset multiple times and even restored my phone, and still nothing. It's very frustrating! Any suggestions?
My IP5 intermittently locks up (frozen screen) when the charger cord is plugged in and the battery is charged to 100%. At least, that's the only time I've noticed it. As soon as I remove the charger cord, it works normally again. Anyone else have this problem? I'm wondering if this is a bug that Apple will have to address?
Woke up to find out my iphone had sent out about 30 emails to contacts (not my full contact list - guessing maybe the last 30 contacts that have been either received/sent via email). The web site isn't one I ever remember accessing (which in iteself is weird). http://dcrconsultores.com.br/pbolqlx.pho This is a fairly new phone acquired from my provider TELUS sent directly from TELUS during the inital shipment of iphone 5's last year. I am on the latest IOS 6.0.2....model MD295C....... Any suggestions on how to fix the problem Yes I have a window's PC.....but it was powered off last night when the emails went out from my iphone....also when I checked this morning there were no outgoing emails in Outllook.......
I left my iphone sitting on the dashboard of a taxi and forgot to lift it. As soon as I got out of the taxi, I remembered so I rang the taxi company to get it for me. I also rang the phone and it was turned off, which is strange as two minutes earlier it was on and it had a 80% battery life so I knew something was strange. Suprise suprise the taxi company never found it. I went on to icloud and put the phone (the device was called jacks iphone) in lost mode and tried to track it but it was offline so I could never find it. Now several weeks down the line I went back on to icloud and this mysterious device TonkhawiPhone7_ was in my list of devices. Its an iphone 4 as well. So could this be my iphone and the person who now has it has changed the name of the device? It doesn't appear to allow me to put it in lost mode for some reason. Can apple help me get my iphone back? Thanks for reading
I have a new iphone5. I have it poweredoff and plugged into the wall, but I am not getting any charging icon. Any ideas?.. Bill Steed
Around 5am this morning I picked up my phone to look at the time and noticed that it said 'searching.....' where my carrier name should be, normally I get great signal in my home. I didn't think much of it and went back to sleep. When I woke up two hours later it still said 'searching' so I toggled airplane mode with no change. I then powered the phone off with no change, next I did a hard reset by holding the power button and home button till it shut down. Same result. 'searching.......' forever. I then plugged my iPhone into my computer and loaded up itunes, it correctly identified my phone then asked me to backup and update it to 6.0.2 firmware. Thinking that this may clear whatever bug may be affecting the 3g radio I accepted and started the process. The phone backed up without issue (thank goodness) but then as it was about to complete the firmware update it threw a -1 error back. Multiple re-attempts at restoring did not work. The iPhone now just displays the 'connect to itunes' screen. A few minutes of searching revealed that it was most likely a hardware issue. This phone has been babied, kept in a simple, low profile case, never dropped, no moisture whatsoever has touched it. It really ***** that this would happen out of the blue like this. Apple is taking care of me though, with no Apple retail shop anywhere close to me, they offered to cross-ship a new phone to me. I don't mind the hold on my credit card. Should be here just after christmas.
Problem on getting wifi to switch on Cannot slide the icon across at all Have reset powered down and still not working
I got the phone on wed, sep 26 and immediately noticed a little clicking noise in the rear of the phone. in order to reproduce it, i need only to tap very lightly on the back of the phone between the logo and the top edge. apple support sent me a new unit, and out of the box, the replacement is worse. i'm just trying to figure out if this is super-widespread or what. after the super-solid feeling of the 4, this is disconcerting. i don't want to go through this again with another unit.
