4S-No sound from speaker no mic no vibration doesn't detect headphones iPhone 4

Hello, I just replaced my 4S's display, and after reassembly the iPhone powered on as normal, but - there is no sound, mic or vibration what so ever. It doesn't detect a headphone jack either. The mute button and volume buttons work just fine, volume control shows up but there is no vibrate or sound at all.  So this basically makes it useless as a phone ... Anyone know what could be causing the issue? I tightened the screws, tried reconnecting the cables and the speakers. Hoping this is not an issue with the audio IC. Definately not software related, tried full DFU restore, tried cleaning the dock connector and jack, the iPhone is NOT stuck in dock connector mode. TL;DR: No sound from any speaker, no vibrate what so ever, no mic, doesn't detect headphone jack. Anyone know what's wrong? Could it be a damaged Audio IC (don't really see how this can happen)? Broken flex cable?

iPhone won't Charge iPhone 5

Okay so i had problems with my iPhone earlier. It would power off randomly when I was or wasnt using it. And i also charged it when I had 30% but on the top right corner for the battery icon, where its suppose to show ' charging ' it showed Fully charged. and after it died, I plugged it back in with it saying its charging. The symbol with a low red battery with a charging sign. It stayed on that symbol for more than 12 hours and never turned on to the lock screen. And if i take it out of charge, it completely shuts off.But when i plug it back in , it has the apple symbol from when you turn it back on after you powered it off. It did that symbol repeatedly. Please help. The problem: Won't charge or turn on to lock screen  Is there anyway I can do it besides taking it to Apple? Thanks (: I don't think I backed up anything, but I maybe did and I have lots of things on my phone. So is there any other solutions that I can use besides restoring it?

YouTube videos load slower on WiFi than LTE iPhone 3G

I have noticed that YouTube videos (using the Google app) have difficulty loading on my iPhone 5 when connected to WiFi.  They will load, but every 10-15 seconds it will stop and try to buffer more video, making the viewing experience entirely undesirable.  I've tried switching WiFi off and the videos load without issue.  I understand that having a WiFi connection enabled makes the video stream at a higher quality vs. LTE which may explain the difference in speed. My question is - does this happen for everyone or just me?  I've run a few speed tests on my WiFi and I am getting the speeds I would expect given the internet plan I have.  Web pages load fine, apps download quickly, etc.  The only issue is with YouTube.  Is this a limitation of YouTube bandwidth or an issue with the app or an issue with the phone?  I heard today that around 1.3 million YouTube videos are played every minute... so if it is just a limitation of YouTube then I guess there is nothing I can do about it... Any help/feedback is appreciated.  Thanks you reading.

Battery Drain issue while recording video Iphone 5

Iphone 5 that I've had for less than a year seems to have horrible battery life. I'm mainly on wifi all day long with very strong signal. Most of my 8-10 hr day is occassionally checking my hotmail or exchange email.  My Time since last charge currently at 43%: usage is 3hrs and 34 minutes, and standby time of 9 hours and 35 minutes.  The strangest issue I'm having is when I record video. I'll usually record 2-3GB worth of video (over 8-10 videos) in a day depending on what I'm uploading to youtube. I'll record a bunch of video, and look at the battery life. It will drop down to 2-3% after recording, and sometimes even shut the phone all the way off. Press the power button and it blinks at you to plug it in. I'll go plug it in, and when it powers back on, it will be anywhere from 20-50% power (1 minute after plugging it in).  Yesterday it was down to 3%, so I powered it off, then back on again, and it jumped back up to 54% I've done a wipe and reset to factory and restore from iCloud and that doesn't seem to have done much.  I've drained the battery all the way dead, and let it recharge fully mulitple times, no help their either. I'm using the factory Iphone charging cable and wall charger.  Has anyone seen this before? Do I have a faulty battery? I've recorded hundreds of videos with my iphone 4 and never had issues with excessive drain while recording, and the same on my wife's 4S..Thanks

My iphone 4 powered off by itself while i was using it. I know it didnt go dead, becuause it had 40% battery left, It will not charge, and my lock button is broken. It will not come on at all when i plug in the charger. Can someone please help and tell me if there is anyway i can power it back on myself?

My iPhone 5 won't stay powered down.

I am able to power down my iPhone 5, by sliding the red slider. But then about 30 seconds later, it powers back up by itself.  I've already done the Sleep/Snooze button and the Home button together for 10 seconds, but to no avail. Any other suggestions?

Ringer not working iPhone 4S

When a call or text is coming throug there is no sound. The settings seem fine. When I switch the side button to red nothing happens. What used to happen would be the bell sign would come up with a line through it indicating the ringer was switched off but now nothing happens whichever way I switch it. Vibrate is switched on in settings but it isn't vibrating either. Interestingly the alarm is working so the sounds are not completely gone.  I have powered it off an back on etc., but it hasn't made any difference. Any advice. Thanks Paula

iPhone 4 battery drain when powered off

Lately I've been turning off my phone and when I turn it back on battery is drained. Yesterday I turned it off at 80% and when I turned it back on 3 hours later it was at 62%. Then today I turned it off at 50% and when I turned it back on it was at 32%! Does anyone know why my iPhone is losing battery even when it's completely powered off? I feel like it shouldn't be losing any battery at all

Wifi greyed out on Iphone 4s

All of a sudden I lost my wifi signal....Checked out the settings and the WiFi is off and unable to turn it back on....i have powered down the phone...i have done a full restore and the wifi switched remains greyed out....any suggestions?

Battery life-iphone 4

Well I tried turning off the Bluetooth, turning off WIFI, turning off location services, and all Push activity.  After all of this my battery lasts about 8 hours.  I guess I could keep the phone powered off but I think that kind of defeats the purpose of owning the phone. Any studies on the lifespan of an iPhone 4 battery?  My applecare warranty runs out in a few months.

My mom passed me her phone as she couldn't get it to restart.  I got it to charge and restart in recovery mode.  However, I've tried all steps on this and many other forums and it is stuck in "trying to restore".  On the phone, it will blink a white screen, show the apple logo and a progress bar then quickly disappear then on the computer give me error code 9.  I have tried 3 different cords, on both my MacBook Air and my iMac.  Same results on both computers.  She purchased a new phone as she couldn't do without, but would love to fix this phone and give to one of my children.  This phone has not been jailbroken.  Any help would be sooooo appreciated!  Not sure what will happen if I try to take this to Apple.

Iphone 5 no longer connecting to bluetooth in car

My Iphone 5 has been connected succesfully via bluetooth to my car for the past 5 months (Ford Fiesta).  Yesterday I went to use it and it wont connect, I powered off the phone, turned bluetooth on/off still not working. I debonded all phones from the car and went to start afresh but that wont work either. When it is searching for devices it just seems to be stuck?  I tried another Iphone 5 in my car and that connected no problems at all. Anyone have any ideas, it clearly must be the phone but wonder what on earth I have done.

My iPhone 4S screen acting up

I'm experiencing the following symptoms:-my iPhone does not respond when I press the home button or the sleep/wake button-neither does it respond when I press the home button and the sleep/wake button at the same time-at times my iPhone does turn on, but it freezes up and the screen starts to go white or green and purple lines start forming-it seems to work normally despite my difficulties with the screen I have tried:-going to the apple store. The gentleman there ran some tests and they showed nothing wrong.-restoring my iPhone through iTunes -pressing the home button and sleep/wake button at the same time-updating my phone to the latest version of iOS  I would really appreciate it if someone could shed some light on my unfortunate iPhone problem. I'm at a loss of what to do especially since I went to the apple store and was told nothing was wrong with my phone. When I went there, I explained the problem and the gentleman pressed the home button and the sleep/wake button and it miraculously turned on! It was fine for the next three days, but it started acting up again.  Thanks

We have been having trouble with our iPhone 4. It will just die. I researched the web and was able to find the information to restart it by pushing both buttons. This resets it, but does not last. I did a complete reset on the phone then updated it, but it continues to turn off and has to be restarted. It is out of warranty, any help would be great.

iPhone 5 WiFi deadly slow

Hi, I have an iPhone 5 (iOS 6.1.2) and a new iPad (third generation), and both devices are connected to my WiFi network. My AirPort Express runs firmware 7.6.3 and its wireless security is set to WPA2 Personal with radio mode 802.11n (b/g compatible). I cannot precise when I first notice the problem. Not sure if was before the AirPort Express update or some iOS firmware update. The problem is that my iPhone 5 WiFi is deadly slow. It's virtually impossible to download an app from the AppStore or sync Rdio songs. My iPad's WiFi (and my wife's) is working as expected, though. Things I've tried so far: - I've changed my AirPort Express security to WEP- I've changed my AirPort Express to 802.11n- I've changed my AirPort Express to 802.11n 5GHz- I've reseted the Network Settings- I've tried to download apps using other 802.11n connection (at my parent's)- I've tried to download apps using a "unsecure" network- I've restored my iPhone 5 to 6.1.2 using iTunes (setting it as a new iPhone) I have no idea what to do next... EDIT: - I also did some tests with the Airplane mode ON, just to make sure the iPhone was connected to and using the wifi connection to download the apps and sync Rdio songs.

I just started to get a SIM Failure Pop up on my iphone 5on Thursday while traveling and using Maps fornavigation. I cannot seem to remove or repair this error.I have gone to yoru support page and followedinstructions on how to reset network.I first tried to send a text and failure came up. Then resetnetwork and text went through, but pop up still came upwith Sim Failure every time I turn my phone on.I also followed instructions to remove Sim Card whenturned off and Reinserted it and that did not work either.What do I do? iPhone 5 Wifi Issues

Hello, I recently upgraded from a iPhone 4 that worked flawlessly. Im currently experieincing dropped wifi connections or extremely low download speeds when on wifi at my house. I performed a speed test on my wifes iPhone 4s and omy iPhone 5 after verifying what was on the network. I have consistently been getting 0.20 Mbps down, and she was getting 20Mbps down. The other issue that i ran into is when i charge my phone, sometimes it does not detect that i have plugged it in. THen i have to unplugg it and reconnect it. It is not a major issue, but this could cause issues down the road if the connector is faulty. In order to troubleshoot this, i have wiped the phone and set it up as a new iphone to clear the possiblity of this being the issue. I have gone into the router and releases the DHCP lease on the iphones and then rejoined the network. I have also tried with a new router that has a longer range, but same thing.   During the tests, i had 3 bars on wifi as well.  Have any of you experienced these issues? Should i go to the apple store to see if they can offer a replacement/help?

Vertical Grey lines iPhone 5

I dropped my iPhone from waist height flat onto the back (I have a zoogue case on it), and now grey vertical lines appear down the left side of the screen. I have powered off holding the home/power button, but nothing changed. I can't swipe to unlock it, so I can't type in my password in order to back it up over the cloud/my computer before resetting it. Has this happened to anyone? Suggestions? Home fixes? Or am I helpless?

Getting error-1 while restoring to iOS 6.1.2. iPhone 5

I just want to make clear I did following, I follow all articles regarding error (-1) in apple support.Updated itunes, Turn off windows firewall, Paused my antivirus, Checked host file,itunes diagnostic test,LAN connections, andTried whole process in 2 different Windows 7 pc. Restore process:Before I update to the new iOS 6.1.2, I tried using my wifi connection and it's pretty slow and not able to do it, so I downloaded iOS 6.1.2.After connect my iphone 5 to my pc, I put it on DFU mode by pressing home and power button together and it appears in recovery mode. I already downloaded iOS 6.1.2, so just holding Shift key and Browse iOS 6.1.2 start restoring my iphone 5. But at the very end it shows error (-1) and interrupt and my iphone again shows iTunes logo. Now I can't go out of DFU mode or update to the latest iOS. It's a brand new phone. It just showing itunes logo. IPhone 4S stopped reading S card after 6 months

I have iPhone 4S it has a H2o SIM card that's worked for about 6 months no problem then one day it said SIM card failure I powered phone on/off once and started working again. Two weeks later it took 3-4 times of me cycling power on/off and removing SIM card and reinstalling it in order to get it to work. Then a week later it did same thing but took even longer. Now it won't read at all and I thought it was SIM card so I went and bought a new SIM card but no change, I looked online for help and even tried to put tape on tray/card like someone said but no change(if I even putting the tape in right place. I tried several different ways) Nothing seems to work. My phone was manufactured between 19-25 of March 2012 so hopefully I can get warranty but not original owner so not sure. Does anyone have any idea what can cause this? Why hasn't Apple fixed this problem since its been happening for a long time

Verizon iPhone 5-UNLOCKED

There is an article today indicated that the Associated Press has discovered that the iPhone 5 from Verizon Wireless is unlocked and will work with an AT&T sim on the AT&T Network.  The article did not state if the phone will also work on other networks.  A Verizon spokesperson has verified that indeed their version of the iPhone 5 is unlocked.

iPhone 5 App store Shows Updates 4 but won t show which apps to update

FYI guys. I powered down my phone for a couple hours, then went back to the App Store. It had a fifth update, but this time it allowed me to complete my updates. Dunno if that helps you guys.

As stated, iphone4S is the smartest phone available. I lost my iphone4S recently and the person who took it, immediately powered it off. I signed in icloud and put my phone in stollen mode using Find My Phone utility which is still pending. I got the sim blocked and reported to police. They will deal it in their own way. My question is: are there other methods to trace my phone?

How to turn on powered off iPhone without hardware buttons

I'm trying to turn on my iPhone.  It's powered off, and the lock button is broken.  I think it turns itself back on when charged from 0%, but it was at 100% before this occurred, so it would take forever to drain the battery. Is there a way to kick the iPhone into being powered on?

I have an iphone 4 that is less than a year old that stopped taking a charge. So I let tje units battery die and one day decided to plug it in. Unable to connect to wireless Network Iphone 5

I just bought the Iphone 5 two days ago. I am having a lot of issues connecting to every other network but my own network at home At home I am using a N900 Cisco Router. The security settings on it are WPA2, My verizon carrier update is version 13.3 and I have updated to IO6.0.2. I have reset the phone to factory defualts, I have reset the network, I have powered off the phone and done everything I could to get them to work on this network.   Personal. Now I have been to my girlfriends parents and many other places that are public and even after double checking the password. the Iphone 5  From Trouble shooting: I have noticed that the Iphone 5 doesn't seem to like many security options on the routers. Even on my new router I tried several different security options and it seemed to like WPA2 the best. Othrwise I was getting major issues. The iphone would connect sometimes only to be slow and not connect. The wifi signal would keep being scanned and would go out and come back in. The signal strength also qould keep fluctuation even when near the router. My brothers same andriod device was doing the same thing. My brothers Iphone 5 was doing the same thing when using the different networks.  Apple there is a major problem here that needs to be addressed when refering to wifi. Considering most carriers now charge for data it is important that if I have access to all the wifi networks I can connect too. This is a major issue that needs to be resolved and looking at the forums it is not an isolated incident.  Recomendations: People who call in with this issue, need to have phones replaced if not able to patch, Since no patch exists at the moment, it would be prudent to offer people who are having trouble a credit towards their wireless bill by working with cell providers and to have apple issue a version of an RMA number. Until the issue is resolved. I have 17 days to return my phone to verizon and I am going to wait to hear back. My girlfriend is in the market for a new phone and we can't have issues with a wifi connection especially when charges are going to ensue if we go over our data. Plus the unavailability of a network in areas my cell provider is not able to help with is important. We as apple users need immediate attention to this matter and it is not a matter of how the phone scans for networks. It is an issue with connectivity and how it is communicating with certain encryptions with the routers. Fix need asap.  This issue is also not localized to the Iphone 5 as it is happening on the Ipad 4

iPhone 5 Battery Drain LTE-good 4g-bad

I seem to having the opposite problem as most. AT&T LTE service is very good in my city.  However, in an attempt to curb my data usage, I want to switch LTE off and use 2g/3g/4g. I ran a few simple battery drain tests  by using a stopwatch to time how long it takes to for 1% of battery to drop then project the drain rate.  I varied combinations of wifi/LTE/4g.  surprisingly, with Wifi and/or LTE turned ON, I got really good drainage rates and the phone ran great.  But with Wifi and LTE turned OFF, and the network defaulting to 4g, the battery was draining at twice the rate and the phone ran hot.   Anyone else having this problem? Is it a hardware problem and a faulty cellular chip?  Or, maybe software problem that a future iOS upgrade may fix?  Thanks

Intermittent lockup when powered iPhone 5

My IP5 intermittently locks up (frozen screen) when the charger cord is plugged in and the battery is charged to 100%.  At least, that's the only time I've noticed it.  As soon as I remove the charger cord, it works normally again.  Anyone else have this problem?  I'm wondering if this is a bug that Apple will have to address?

Iphone 5 hacked-about 30 emails sent out to what looks to be phishing website-TELUS customer

Woke up to find out my iphone had sent out about 30 emails to contacts (not my full contact list - guessing maybe the last 30 contacts that have been either received/sent via email).  The web site isn't one I ever remember accessing (which in iteself is weird).  http://dcrconsultores.com.br/pbolqlx.pho This is a fairly new phone acquired from my provider TELUS sent directly from TELUS during the inital shipment of iphone 5's last year. I am on the latest IOS 6.0.2....model MD295C....... Any suggestions on how to fix the problem Yes I have a window's PC.....but it was powered off last night when the emails went out from my iphone....also when I checked this morning there were no outgoing emails in Outllook....... 

My iphone was stolen however its still saved as one of my devices on icloud but its name has changed. Can apple find it

I left my iphone sitting on the dashboard of a taxi and forgot to lift it. As soon as I got out of the taxi, I remembered so I rang the taxi company to get it for me. I also rang the phone and it was turned off, which is strange as two minutes earlier it was on and it had a 80% battery life so I knew something was strange. Suprise suprise the taxi company never found it. I went on to icloud and put the phone (the device was called jacks iphone) in lost mode and tried to track it but it was offline so I could never find it. Now several weeks down the line I went back on to icloud and this mysterious device TonkhawiPhone7_ was in my list of devices. Its an iphone 4 as well. So could this be my iphone and the person who now has it has changed the name of the device? It doesn't appear to allow me to put it in lost mode for some reason. Can apple help me get my iphone back?  Thanks for reading

Iphone 5 ios 6.0.1 No Sound on open apps after incoming call

Hopefull any easy question but i couldn't find an answer. Moments ago i received a call while i was playing an app.   I declined the call and the app i was in no longer had sound (external speaker) .   After i couldn't find a simple setting to fix I ran a few tests.  Summary of findings: 1)  All my apps that were open at the time of the call had no sound2)  Apps that I opened after the call had sound3)  Apps that were open during the call.. if I manually shut down the app and reopened, it now had sound... but ones that were not reopened still did not have sound. All theses tests are with the external speaker.    Any setting I'm missing or is this a IOS6 issue? Only had my iphone 5 for 1 day so might be a newbie question. Thanks for your help,Gene

Hello!May I ask a favor from people who have: - New iPhone 4S (bought after iPhone 5 launch day)- Old iPhone 4S (bought prior to iPhone 5 announcement)- iPhone 5 Please take pictures of direct sunlight/focused to the sun AND indoor lighting/focused to the lights in the ceiling, BECAUSE, here's my problem.  I've heard about the iPhone 5 purple flare issue. There were multiple guesses on why, it was either a camera software flaw, (as Apple said) the thin and sleek design of iPhones nowadays and, the sapphire lens cover.At first, I was like, it was both a camera software flaw and because of the sapphire crystal lens cover. Then, I didn't mind it at all until when I went outing with my family: I randomly took pictures with my iPad 2 (WiFi+3G, November of 2011, yes, last year) focused on the sun and found a purple color present and recently used the iPad as my camera for my school field trip, and it still had the purple on it. I started thinking the purple thing is from the software the camera is offering and using, but I also was considering that the purple color wasn't as wide, thick and large like the one in iPhone 5 compared to my iPad. When the iPad mini was released, there were vloggers in YouTube posting videos about the 5MP 1080p iSight camera tests of the iPad mini. There were still purple colors of the sun's corona in them. I went iPod touch 5MP iSight camera tests and still saw the same thing, the purple lining. In fact, there were pictures of the iPhone 4S suffering from the purple color, which I assume that the iPhone 4S is running iOS 6 that time, I'm not sure though, it may be iOS 5.  So after seeing all these, I've thought, there was one commonality, they were all iOS 6 devices (as I said, not sure with the case of the 4S) But I then considered the larger purple ones in iPhone 5. So I was analyzing, and I came up with this: — The purple color is produced by the camera software provided by iOS 6, a flaw or something.— A larger purple color is much more prominent in iPhone 5 because of it's sapphire lens cover.— The sapphire lens cover in iPhone 5 captures thicker flare than ones in iPhone 4S and iPads, iPod touches.— Meaning, the purple color is present in the thick and extra area of flare, whatever the iOS device is. Tell me what you think. Bricked iPhone 5 error code-1 My Story

Around 5am this morning I picked up my phone to look at the time and noticed that it said 'searching.....'  where my carrier name should be, normally I get great signal in my home.  I didn't think much of it and went back to sleep.  When I woke up two hours later it still said 'searching' so I toggled airplane mode with no change.  I then powered the phone off with no change, next I did a hard reset by holding the power button and home button till it shut down.  Same result.  'searching.......' forever.  I then plugged my iPhone into my computer and loaded up itunes, it correctly identified my phone then asked me to backup and update it to 6.0.2 firmware.  Thinking that this may clear whatever bug may be affecting the 3g radio I accepted and started the process.  The phone backed up without issue (thank goodness) but then as it was about to complete the firmware update it threw a -1 error back.  Multiple re-attempts at restoring did not work.  The iPhone now just displays the 'connect to itunes'  screen.  A few minutes of searching revealed that it was most likely a hardware issue.  This phone has been babied, kept in a simple, low profile case, never dropped, no moisture whatsoever has touched it.  It really ***** that this would happen out of the blue like this.  Apple is taking care of me though, with no Apple retail shop anywhere close to me, they offered to cross-ship a new phone to me. I don't mind the hold on my credit card.  Should be here just after christmas. 

iPhone 4S problem since iOS 6 help straight answer please

Hey guys I'm new to forums so sorry of this has been asked befor but I can't find it anywhere.Basically I had a little trouble before hand but since ios6 my wifi and 3G have turned to crap on my iPhone 4S.It now and again can't find my router or work router but more issues than that here goes. Can be connected to router but have no Internet (speed tests pickup nothing)  3G breaks on and off even when in a hot zone for 3G  Wifi even when connected has not got a stable connection and fluctuates a lot eg: on a 900KB/s goes between 10KB/s and 400KB/s randomly and usually the lower end of that scale, happens on 3G aswell but that's understandable Wifi is solid but sometimes breaks like 3G and causes a game or download to stop or crash. Now I've tried all things I have found in other posts, resetting network, full backup restore, hard reset, forgetting network ect but none work the or thing I have tried that worked was turning off mobile data whilst on wifi to stop it from the first issue in list where it is connected but not having  Internet but I shouldn't have to do that!  Unfortunately my warranty just ran out so failing a fix have I got a legal leg to stand on to get a replacement since it was apple that ****** this up? Keep checking for a update/fix to but don't know whereI would find that. Btw my phone isn't jail broken and never has been and I don't intend to either  rant over Thanks

My phone will not allow me to switch wifi on at all. I have tried to power on and off but still will not switch on. iPhone 4S

It is thought that the app used was iGotYa which is activated when a wrong passcode is entered into the phone keypad. iGotYa is a third-party app, made by Cyndia, which is not available in the official Apple store. Or at least get the feature where a picture, location, date & time is sent back to my email whenever someone enters in the wrong password?  I just heard about this story today & taught that's an incredibly beneficial feature to have. Now my iPhones not jailbroken and I really have no interest in jailbreaking so I can't get this app but I would vary much like to see this added to Find My iPhone.

So only water sensor can be checked on iPhone 5 on S tray

So according to this article the only sensor is on the SIM tray but shouldnt it be one in the headphone jack or on the lightning connector?
