When a call or text is coming throug there is no sound. The settings seem fine. When I switch the side button to red nothing happens. What used to happen would be the bell sign would come up with a line through it indicating the ringer was switched off but now nothing happens whichever way I switch it. Vibrate is switched on in settings but it isn't vibrating either. Interestingly the alarm is working so the sounds are not completely gone. I have powered it off an back on etc., but it hasn't made any difference. Any advice. Thanks Paula
Lately I've been turning off my phone and when I turn it back on battery is drained. Yesterday I turned it off at 80% and when I turned it back on 3 hours later it was at 62%. Then today I turned it off at 50% and when I turned it back on it was at 32%! Does anyone know why my iPhone is losing battery even when it's completely powered off? I feel like it shouldn't be losing any battery at all
I have an iPhone 5 16GB for AT&T and I've had problems with the phone's home button (not recognizing my click) and issues with wifi connections on multiple networks. The phone is obviously still under warranty, but I have a dilemma. The iPhone has a small crack in the upper right hand corner of the phone. This happened a few months ago, it doesn't come close to the screen or anything, but I'm wondering if Apple will refuse to swap my phone because of this. Does anyone have any experience with this?
All of a sudden I lost my wifi signal....Checked out the settings and the WiFi is off and unable to turn it back on....i have powered down the phone...i have done a full restore and the wifi switched remains greyed out....any suggestions?
Well I tried turning off the Bluetooth, turning off WIFI, turning off location services, and all Push activity. After all of this my battery lasts about 8 hours. I guess I could keep the phone powered off but I think that kind of defeats the purpose of owning the phone. Any studies on the lifespan of an iPhone 4 battery? My applecare warranty runs out in a few months.
Hi Brydi, Click on Settings>iTunes & App Store and click on your AppleID. Click on View Account and sign in. Click on Country/Region, and follow the onscreen prompts to change your Country/Region back to Australia.Click Done when finished. Cheers, GB
My mom passed me her phone as she couldn't get it to restart. I got it to charge and restart in recovery mode. However, I've tried all steps on this and many other forums and it is stuck in "trying to restore". On the phone, it will blink a white screen, show the apple logo and a progress bar then quickly disappear then on the computer give me error code 9. I have tried 3 different cords, on both my MacBook Air and my iMac. Same results on both computers. She purchased a new phone as she couldn't do without, but would love to fix this phone and give to one of my children. This phone has not been jailbroken. Any help would be sooooo appreciated! Not sure what will happen if I try to take this to Apple.
Hi Guys, I have an Iphone 4s and a yellow mark appears on my screen whereas my warrantly is expire since February. I go to a Genius Bar and the refuse to take care of my problem. As I saw on Internet it's a latent defect (glue problem) but Apple refuse to recognize it. I live in France and the European Union rules said that warrantly should be ended 2 years after the purchase date for latent defect. I'm very disapointed, Iphone was pretty expensive and they refuse to recognize their problem. Do you know how can I force Apple to solved my problem ?Thanks for your help,Regards
My Iphone 5 has been connected succesfully via bluetooth to my car for the past 5 months (Ford Fiesta). Yesterday I went to use it and it wont connect, I powered off the phone, turned bluetooth on/off still not working. I debonded all phones from the car and went to start afresh but that wont work either. When it is searching for devices it just seems to be stuck? I tried another Iphone 5 in my car and that connected no problems at all. Anyone have any ideas, it clearly must be the phone but wonder what on earth I have done.

Problem with Volume:What happens is that sometimes I have is that when playing music / videos suddenly going to the iPhone and the audio volume control disappears, and it takes to bring up again, do not know what's going on or why do that, if someone happens something similar and could arrange, please can tell me what are the steps to follow to remove this annoyance. Problem with the Player / Music:The song is already finished and not changed the cover art and the other begins to ring, or the song is playing and the bar of the song (not the volume) does not advance stays at 0:00 and the song is playing and even just the song begins and the other that originally put this on the main screen. Do not know if this problem comes associated with volume control. Actually if anyone knows how to solve these two drawbacks agradecere it much.
My wife has a iPhone 4s 16 GB phone that she has had for about 16 months. It is out of warrantee now and go figure now it is having issues with the screen. On a daily basis, the screen shows strange colored lines. But they aren't straight across the screen, they seem to follow borders between different colors, like a contour line. And sometimes the entire image on the screen starts to jitter up and down. These can be temporarily fixed by pressing on the display, typically near the earpiece. I've opened it up and pressed on the display connector to make sure it is in tight, but the issue still shows up. I would think that being able to clear the issue by pressing on the display rules out any software issues, but the way the discoloration behaves is sure strange. Has anyone seen this issue before?
to cut a long story short. I was interested in an i-phone... got the details..checked them all.. on the phone and with the provider, VODAPHONE... told unlocked, not stolen etc etc. proceeded to buy the phone...new sim topped up £10 only to find it wouldn't work... Went into vodaphone store..been running around following thier advice..(they said I need a friend who is a customer on vodaphone to get passed the unlocking with a vodaphone code.. and they would do it for free given the circumstances...so i run errands go back and forth doing as they asked...got nowhere) SO IT IS NOW A MONTH LATER..and after complaining and complaining to thier email site and repeatedly asking for help in store..I am stumped as what to do and just have a glorified ipod. I WILL NOT BE FORCED TO REMAIN ON THE VODAPHONE NETWORK given the situation they have put me in and thier unwillingness to help so i refuse to use the phone with vodaphone... BUT WHAT can i do PLEASEEEEEEE? all they keep on suggesting is that I get the original owners details but he is not answering anything...and the phone is not registered as stolen etc so what is the problem!? As you can imagine I am really peeved by the whole thing as I actually carried out all the necessary checks, and whilst the phone was not bought directly from vodaphone, I went to them as the provider, to find otu about unlocking etc as it is always advised to do so..and it was them that gave me the wrong information but they still will not resolve the issue. I have even sent them phone records to confirm when I rung and the name of the invalid who told me the phone was unlocked in the first place. I really would much appreciate any help as they are ignoring my emails now.
If you got the confirmation message from the carrier that the unlock has been completed, follow the instructions in that email and restore the device.There is nothing to wait on Apple for. Let me be blunt, the carriers are full of manure and will use any excuse to blame others and try to avoid unlocking your device. If you have not received confirmation from the carrier that the device has been unlocked, call them and find out what their timeframe is one completing the process.

hello some help please! im trying to unlock my vodafone iphone 4.. they have been less than helpful. when i follow the online instructions i am told to sync phone to itunes, which i have done, it then tells me to select iphone in 'devices' and go to summary.. but my itunes does not have a 'devices' tab..? what am i missing?
I regret putting a passcode on my IPhone 4s. I can not unlock it. uggg. When I follow the directions to restore (which I am upset that I have to because I loose all my photos etc.) My phone was not connected to a computer before this. It gives me the message that it is ineligible for recovery. Please help. I am without my dear phone.

I just speak with one of you colleague, I buy a iPhone 5 from O2 and I give a present to my mum, she is leaving in Romania and she try to use in orange network in Romania, and is not working, you colleague sent me a mail how she need to do it on iTunes etc, she try to follow all the steps from e-mail but is coming a lock apple on iTunes , I don't know what to do, maybe you can help me
My iPhone 4s is not charging. Last few days it was eating up the battery life quicker than usual. Tried doing all the power up deals, turning off then on, even a restore. It is now completely powered off and not turning on even when plugged in. I'm out of ideas. A little help please!Thanks
We have been having trouble with our iPhone 4. It will just die. I researched the web and was able to find the information to restart it by pushing both buttons. This resets it, but does not last. I did a complete reset on the phone then updated it, but it continues to turn off and has to be restarted. It is out of warranty, any help would be great.

I just started to get a SIM Failure Pop up on my iphone 5on Thursday while traveling and using Maps fornavigation. I cannot seem to remove or repair this error.I have gone to yoru support page and followedinstructions on how to reset network.I first tried to send a text and failure came up. Then resetnetwork and text went through, but pop up still came upwith Sim Failure every time I turn my phone on.I also followed instructions to remove Sim Card whenturned off and Reinserted it and that did not work either.What do I do? I have powered off, updated phone andanything on yoru site I couldl handle myself to do.Can you fix this? Or is it a Verizon Wireless issue?
I'm at my grandparent's house, and I'm the only one that can't connect to their wifi. My brother and mom have both been successful with their laptops, but my phone and laptop refuse to join in. (My laptop isn't a Mac, so don't worry about that.) The access code is correct, but it always gives me the "failed to login" message.
I dropped my iPhone from waist height flat onto the back (I have a zoogue case on it), and now grey vertical lines appear down the left side of the screen. I have powered off holding the home/power button, but nothing changed. I can't swipe to unlock it, so I can't type in my password in order to back it up over the cloud/my computer before resetting it. Has this happened to anyone? Suggestions? Home fixes? Or am I helpless?
I just want to make clear I did following, I follow all articles regarding error (-1) in apple support.Updated itunes, Turn off windows firewall, Paused my antivirus, Checked host file,itunes diagnostic test,LAN connections, andTried whole process in 2 different Windows 7 pc. Restore process:Before I update to the new iOS 6.1.2, I tried using my wifi connection and it's pretty slow and not able to do it, so I downloaded iOS 6.1.2.After connect my iphone 5 to my pc, I put it on DFU mode by pressing home and power button together and it appears in recovery mode. I already downloaded iOS 6.1.2, so just holding Shift key and Browse iOS 6.1.2 start restoring my iphone 5. But at the very end it shows error (-1) and interrupt and my iphone again shows iTunes logo. Now I can't go out of DFU mode or update to the latest iOS. It's a brand new phone. It just showing itunes logo. Please help me to fix this issue.While I did the Network Connectivity Tests, I found:Secure link to iTunes Store failed. Summary:Windows Firewall is off.Connection attempt to Apple web site was successful.Connection attempt to browsing iTunes Store was successful.Connection attempt to purchasing from iTunes Store was successful.Connection attempt to iPhone activation server was successful.Connection attempt to firmware update server was unsuccessful.The network connection timed out.Connection attempt to Gracenote server was successful. I have iPhone 4S it has a H2o SIM card that's worked for about 6 months no problem then one day it said SIM card failure I powered phone on/off once and started working again. Two weeks later it took 3-4 times of me cycling power on/off and removing SIM card and reinstalling it in order to get it to work. Then a week later it did same thing but took even longer. Now it won't read at all and I thought it was SIM card so I went and bought a new SIM card but no change, I looked online for help and even tried to put tape on tray/card like someone said but no change(if I even putting the tape in right place. I tried several different ways) Nothing seems to work. My phone was manufactured between 19-25 of March 2012 so hopefully I can get warranty but not original owner so not sure. Does anyone have any idea what can cause this? Why hasn't Apple fixed this problem since its been happening for a long time
There is an article today indicated that the Associated Press has discovered that the iPhone 5 from Verizon Wireless is unlocked and will work with an AT&T sim on the AT&T Network. The article did not state if the phone will also work on other networks. A Verizon spokesperson has verified that indeed their version of the iPhone 5 is unlocked.
I have 6.1.2 installed on my Iphone 5. Basically here's whats going on. -LTE will randomly turn off and 4G will be enabled. Even when you go to Cellular, LTE is switched on... but it's not on. -Wifi is a disaster for me. The signal drops in the same room as the router. I don't know how to explain the problem other than a CRAZY WEAK WIFI signal. I don't really know what to do about this. I've literally had 6 iphone replacements with 6 different issues that came with them. They refuse to exchange anymore. I don't recall this wifi being an issue on any of them prior to this one. I'm hoping it's not hardware but, signs are pointing toward it being so. -Battery seems better than in September when it would just die in standby. While, I appreciate some things being fixed, I don't appreciate a company who basically gets fed up with helping somebody with their purchase. Why did I have to get 6 iphone replacements?? Oh, that's right - because they are making these phones like garbage! Scratches, Buttons improprly built that cause malfunction, wifi problems, camera problems, BAD BATTERIES. But when it's all said and done, they refused to just keep on exchanging until I got what I paid for. I think that's crazy. The fact that I was loyal enough to say, Okay, let's try it again - instead of saying THIS IS PEICE OF GARBAGE PRODUCT (Which, i'm sorry, it is) speaks levels of my loyality. I was dismissed from their care and I think that's ridiculous! Sept 21st purchase, it's now Feb 23. I STILL HAVEN'T GOTTEN WHAT I PAID FOR! Thats the truth.
After your latest update my battery drains faster that flash going around the world 8k times. I refuse to change my settings because this expensive telephone is supposed to be the best telephone in the market. I didn't buy an expensive device to keep its functionality at its 50% by disabling everything where the purpose of a smartphone is to be useful and smart. I bought this phone expecting to have a good experience and exploit every aspect of this to its fullest. On the other hand, Samsung seems to treat their costumers as deserved ( friends are really happy with their Galaxy). I know there are a lot of individuals dealing with this issue and if you are like me you spend hours searching "how to delete messages in spotlight search history" and it seems like every post either says to reset your phone or sync it! I'm sorry but I did not want to go through the hassle of resetting my phone but I did try to sync it which did nothing so I decided to just mess around with my settings and I believe to have found the answer to everyone's question!! This worked for me so I really hope this works for you! Just follow the steps below: 1. Go to <settings><general><spotlight search><uncheck messages> 2. Then turn your phone off and wait a minute! Turn your phone back on and off again 2 or 3 more times while waiting a minute in between turning it off! 3. After you are done doing that go back to step 1 and <check messages>! 4. Now go to your spotlight search and those messages should be deleted! If they are deleted I would recommend going back to step 1 and <uncheck messages> so you do not have the same problem with messages showing up again in the spotlight search! It works for Mail too! Just follow the same steps listed above but uncheck mail instead of messages or do both at the same time!!*Here is an extra tip which will remove deleted Mail Messages, just follow the steps below:1. Go to <settings><mail, contacts, calendars><your mail account> scroll down and click <advanced> Now click <remove> under the title Deleted Messages and you can choose to have your mail removed After One Day, After One Week, After One Month or Never. I hope this post was detailed enough and easy to understand!I really hope it works for you like it did for me! Good Luck!!!
Since I've updated my iPhone 4S to iOS 6.1.1, I can't use my phone to play music or follow directions through my car audio system via USB. The phone recognizes that it is plugged in and charges, but will not play music through the speakers and directions from Maps are not read through the speakers like in previous iOS versions. The way I know it is the iOS instead of the connector is because I tried my sister's 4S on iOS 6.1 and it worked. Her iPod on iOS 6.1 also worked. Please send a fix for this.
FYI guys. I powered down my phone for a couple hours, then went back to the App Store. It had a fifth update, but this time it allowed me to complete my updates. Dunno if that helps you guys.
As stated, iphone4S is the smartest phone available. I lost my iphone4S recently and the person who took it, immediately powered it off. I signed in icloud and put my phone in stollen mode using Find My Phone utility which is still pending. I got the sim blocked and reported to police. They will deal it in their own way. My question is: are there other methods to trace my phone?
I have the approval message from my carrier to follow the steps to unlocking my iPhone. However I do not plan (to as of right now) to switch carriers. If I proceed with the restore, will my iphone still be unlocked? Or, do I have to switch sim cards with another carrier for my iphone to be unlocked?

I know the apps store will not give me an old version,that is why i do not use my Mac or iMac to replace the application however this has also been updated on my Macs. My wife went into the Chadstone (Victoria - Australia) shop today due to her iPhone's (4) touch screen playing up. The phone was still quite functionable, in regards to expectations of a smartphone but became frustrating when the touch screen stopped working. There was a workaround for this (locking the screen then unlocking the screen) but was not an ideal fix, considering we were paying for a fully functional phone.Prior to going in, last night I ensured that all here apps and iOS were up to date, to ensure there wasn't and easily fixed software problem causing the issue. She was served by a staff member, who after examined the phone advised that there didn't appear to be a hardware issue so she would need to take it out the back to get the software checked. This was all that was explained to my wife, so she let the staff member take the phone to be checked.My wife had no issue handing the phone over as about 8 to 10 months ago she experienced an issue with her original iPhone 4 and after a check (at the same store, again out the back) she was given a new phone a few minutes later due to the phone still being under warranty. My wife returned to the store about 30 minutes later after being told to wait 15 to 20 minutes, to verify what the problem was. Aft waiting 20 minutes she approached a staff member because no one had followed up with her regarding the phone. The staff member sought the initial staff member who had helped her and the staff member went out the back to check. The staff member returned and advised her that they had attempted to check the phone but for a reason (not explained) the phone and gone into panic mode and was unserviceable.My wife was offered a new phone for $150, as the warranty had expired or to come back another day to follow up on possible solutions. Having to pick up my son and due to not being that tech savvy, my wife opted to come back on a later day. After explaining the situation to me, I called the Chadstone store later that night to follow up on the situation due to the poor customer service.I was able to speak to the manager at the time, Joe, and after explaining the situation, I outlined my issues: 1. As my wife previously had a defective product, at no fault of her own, that was within warranty and it was replaced, why didn't the warranty begin again when she was given a new phone? Which later turned out to be defective as well. 2. Before handing over the phone, no attempt was made by the staff member to warn my wife that the phone was not covered by the original warranty, even though it was a replacement phone for a defective phone. 3. Before handing over the phone, no attempt was made by the staff member to to warn my wife that the phone could possibly be made unserviceable. If this was the case, I had pre- warned my wife that if there were any technical issues to contact me and I would advise her on what to do. 4. As the phone was functionable prior to the staff member taking responsibility for it and upon return was not functional AT ALL (read bricked), this was completely inappropriate. I explained that my wife relied on her phone for advice on our baby son. Joe acknowledged the issue but advised that they could not be accountable for the issue because if we were running old software and they had to restore it and run new software, then this was a possible outcome. I confirmed with Joe that the night before I had ensured I had updated all the apps and iOS, to ensure that these were not the causes of the issue. I also confirmed that my wife had not been advised of any possible issues prior to handing over the phone. If she had, she would have called me to confirm and I would have told her not too as it was not a serious issue.I advised Joe that this was not really appropriate customer service and I would jot be looking to pay $150 to resolve the issue and we were not at fault. Joe advised that he could not guarantee that we would not have to pay something but confirmed to come in and I confirmed he would be working the day I would be coming in. Surely based on the history of the issue, Apple are at fault here.
I recently called Apple and asked if an iPhone 5 purchased in the US is covered by International warranty for service in country like Singapore. The Apple rep said yes it would be covered, however he said it would be at the discression of the apple shop in Singapore if they wanted to service the phone or not. After reading the US warranty, I see it says: Apple may restrict warranty service for iPhone and iPad to the country where Apple or its Authorized Distributors originally sold the device. This seems that Apple only may restrict warranty to country of purchase... meaning it is not definitive. If the warranty was restricted to the US, wouldn't it say "Apple restricts warranty service ... "? It also says in the US warranty: You may be responsible for shipping and handling charges if the Apple Product cannot be serviced in the country it is in. Notice the last part "if the Apple Product cannot be serviced in the country it is in", seems to mean I could try to get a iPhone serviced in Singapore at the apple store, but maybe they will refuse and I must send it back to the US. If the US iPhone warranty was really only limited to the US, why not just say that in the warranty, why include that sentance above? Can anyone clarify the warranty policy for a US iphone purchased in the US and needs service in Singapore? Can anyone point to the sentance/section in the US warranty that states the warranty is only good for service in the US?

i have already solve the problem..follow the step.1- lock skrin with power button2-wait for a minute3- double click home button..4- if u see the music sound slider hold it quickly (only if u see the slider, please be quick before the slider hide again)if u dont see the slider or it has been hide again, repeat step 15- use other finger to touch play button.. then slide the sound left and right6- done your sound will be enable back..7- restart your phone to make sure the problem not coming back it work for my iphone 4s..tq
I'm trying to turn on my iPhone. It's powered off, and the lock button is broken. I think it turns itself back on when charged from 0%, but it was at 100% before this occurred, so it would take forever to drain the battery. Is there a way to kick the iPhone into being powered on?

I have an iphone 4 that is less than a year old that stopped taking a charge. So I let tje units battery die and one day decided to plug it in. It gav me the battery icon and indicated it was charging. As soon as it powered itself on it no longer showed the battery was charging and died a few minutes later. I'm really confuses by this. Any suggestions?
