Lately I've been turning off my phone and when I turn it back on battery is drained. Yesterday I turned it off at 80% and when I turned it back on 3 hours later it was at 62%. Then today I turned it off at 50% and when I turned it back on it was at 32%! Does anyone know why my iPhone is losing battery even when it's completely powered off? I feel like it shouldn't be losing any battery at all
I have an iPhone 5 64 GB running iOS 6.1.4 on AT&T. Over the past ~ three days, have noted that the iPhone randomly "crashes". Could be when I am using an app. Could be when I am making a phone call. Could be when it is simply connected to the power cord and haven't touched it at all. The cycle is as follows: Screen suddenly goes blankThe white Apple logo (which typicaly appears during boot-up) appears for 3 - 5 secondsI hear the "chirp" that normally sounds at the end of boot-upThe iPhone lock lock screen then appears Sometimes, when the phone emerges from lock screen, the brightness is about half of what it was prior. I have not been able to isolate this behavior to a specific set of circumstances. When it occurs during a phone call, the call is interrupted / other party is silenced, but if I swipe at lock screen, the call resumes (the other party notes that I went silent during duration). I have re-started / re-booted the iPhone 15 times. I have cleared all apps from the cache. I have disabled all notifications and location services. I have done a Reset All Settings on iPhone and restored from iCloud. I have done a Restore from iTunes. The problem continues. I would say that this crash cycle occurs about every 30 - 60 minutes. As noted, many times when I'm not even touching / using the iPhone. Have also noted that when not connected to power supply, the iPhone is quite warm, and battery drain is at an accelerated rate of 3x to 4x of "normal", worse than prior iOS 6 related battery issues. Have also tried all the usual battery saving tricks - wifi is off, GPS is off, EQ is off, etc. Any thoughts before I head to the Genius Bar? Thanks! TCF
All of a sudden I lost my wifi signal....Checked out the settings and the WiFi is off and unable to turn it back on....i have powered down the phone...i have done a full restore and the wifi switched remains greyed out....any suggestions?
Well I tried turning off the Bluetooth, turning off WIFI, turning off location services, and all Push activity. After all of this my battery lasts about 8 hours. I guess I could keep the phone powered off but I think that kind of defeats the purpose of owning the phone. Any studies on the lifespan of an iPhone 4 battery? My applecare warranty runs out in a few months.
My mom passed me her phone as she couldn't get it to restart. I got it to charge and restart in recovery mode. However, I've tried all steps on this and many other forums and it is stuck in "trying to restore". On the phone, it will blink a white screen, show the apple logo and a progress bar then quickly disappear then on the computer give me error code 9. I have tried 3 different cords, on both my MacBook Air and my iMac. Same results on both computers. She purchased a new phone as she couldn't do without, but would love to fix this phone and give to one of my children. This phone has not been jailbroken. Any help would be sooooo appreciated! Not sure what will happen if I try to take this to Apple.
My Iphone 5 has been connected succesfully via bluetooth to my car for the past 5 months (Ford Fiesta). Yesterday I went to use it and it wont connect, I powered off the phone, turned bluetooth on/off still not working. I debonded all phones from the car and went to start afresh but that wont work either. When it is searching for devices it just seems to be stuck? I tried another Iphone 5 in my car and that connected no problems at all. Anyone have any ideas, it clearly must be the phone but wonder what on earth I have done.
Hi everyone, Ive noticed something interesting, for the past few weeks apps have begun installing very slowly in the past few week over wifi. And I still haven't figured out why. My wifi conntection via speedtest.net was measured at a download rate of 18.85 Mbps. They used to install fairly quickly but I have noticed that they install very sluggishly as of recent. any Ideas? Thank-you, Shawn
You're not addressing Apple here, just iPhone users, please don't provide your personal data like serial/imei numbers Have you tried this article? http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3424

My iPhone 4s is not charging. Last few days it was eating up the battery life quicker than usual. Tried doing all the power up deals, turning off then on, even a restore. It is now completely powered off and not turning on even when plugged in. I'm out of ideas. A little help please! Thanks
We have been having trouble with our iPhone 4. It will just die. I researched the web and was able to find the information to restart it by pushing both buttons. This resets it, but does not last. I did a complete reset on the phone then updated it, but it continues to turn off and has to be restarted. It is out of warranty, any help would be great.

I just started to get a SIM Failure Pop up on my iphone 5on Thursday while traveling and using Maps fornavigation. I cannot seem to remove or repair this error.I have gone to yoru support page and followedinstructions on how to reset network.I first tried to send a text and failure came up. Then resetnetwork and text went through, but pop up still came upwith Sim Failure every time I turn my phone on.I also followed instructions to remove Sim Card whenturned off and Reinserted it and that did not work either. What do I do? I have powered off, updated phone andanything on yoru site I couldl handle myself to do.Can you fix this? Or is it a Verizon Wireless issue?
which profile allows communication between iOS 4/later and Bluetooth Health Monitor(such as Fetal Heart rate/Motion/respiration etc. )
Ultimately all i need is a basic phone. Plans now offer the iPhone for the same rate. I'm curious as to the music specs of the iPhone 4. Should I get it, replace my old iPod, and have the option for data later?
I dropped my iPhone from waist height flat onto the back (I have a zoogue case on it), and now grey vertical lines appear down the left side of the screen. I have powered off holding the home/power button, but nothing changed. I can't swipe to unlock it, so I can't type in my password in order to back it up over the cloud/my computer before resetting it. Has this happened to anyone? Suggestions? Home fixes? Or am I helpless?
Hello Apple Commuinty, Recently my partners iphone will not let her to connect to WiFi as On/Off selection under WiFi is greyed out. We have tried all info shown in article TS1559 and still no joy. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks,Mike
I have iPhone 4S it has a H2o SIM card that's worked for about 6 months no problem then one day it said SIM card failure I powered phone on/off once and started working again. Two weeks later it took 3-4 times of me cycling power on/off and removing SIM card and reinstalling it in order to get it to work. Then a week later it did same thing but took even longer. Now it won't read at all and I thought it was SIM card so I went and bought a new SIM card but no change, I looked online for help and even tried to put tape on tray/card like someone said but no change(if I even putting the tape in right place. I tried several different ways) Nothing seems to work. My phone was manufactured between 19-25 of March 2012 so hopefully I can get warranty but not original owner so not sure. Does anyone have any idea what can cause this? Why hasn't Apple fixed this problem since its been happening for a long time
There is an article today indicated that the Associated Press has discovered that the iPhone 5 from Verizon Wireless is unlocked and will work with an AT&T sim on the AT&T Network. The article did not state if the phone will also work on other networks. A Verizon spokesperson has verified that indeed their version of the iPhone 5 is unlocked.
I've had severe battery drain after updating to 6.1.1. After update to 6.1.2 there is no improvement. Perhaps its even worse! I am experiencing battery drain at a rate of 1% per 2 minutes! I can't even depend on the phone to last for a few hours. I need a fix soon.
FYI guys. I powered down my phone for a couple hours, then went back to the App Store. It had a fifth update, but this time it allowed me to complete my updates. Dunno if that helps you guys.
As stated, iphone4S is the smartest phone available. I lost my iphone4S recently and the person who took it, immediately powered it off. I signed in icloud and put my phone in stollen mode using Find My Phone utility which is still pending. I got the sim blocked and reported to police. They will deal it in their own way. My question is: are there other methods to trace my phone?
Im a iphone5 user, also I am using the IOS 6.1 system.but nowadays I am facing to a terrible problem. The phone suddenly powered off when I open a app on the phone, and the screen become black slowly, and then the white apple come here. after that, sometimes it may become good. but the problem is still exist.
A few days ago, the LED light came on and won't turn off - not even when powered down. I do not have any flashlight apps or anything that uses it other than the camera, what should I do?
I have an iPone 5 that I set on a sports bench while playing a sport out side. It was about 30 degrees out. After a half hour of play. I picked up the phone, touched the screen to see if there were any messages and crack, the screen shattered. Not only that but the phone battery was completely dead. Has anyone else had this problem? I have Apple Care Plus on the phone and was told the repair counted as one of the incidents covered by the plan. When I argued the point that it broke due to cold the representative said he understood and wished it could be covered but Apple's policy is to treat all glass breakage as an accident. I am an engineer, not a materials engineer but an engineer all the same. I suspect there is a design flaw with the screen due to its shape and the thinness of the device. It appears to me the case cooled at a quicker rate then the glass and stressed the screen. The screen was further stressed by the heat of the electronics inside. When I touched the cold screen with my worm finger, the added heat as a point source further stressed the screen to its yield point, causing it to shatter. I believe this is a product flaw that Apple should repair at no cost. Please let me know it you have had a similar issue. I did not have the third party screen proctor on the phone. Only the glass. If you have not had this issue, protect the phone from the cold. I had a iPone 4 for years that was left in much colder temperatures without issue. That is why I suspect the shape and thinness of the device can cause the screen to crack in cold temperatures.
updated to the 6.1 last week. I have a app for a local news paper that I pay a monthly fee to read on line and now since the update I have to sign in every time I read a diffrent article. What changed?
I'm trying to turn on my iPhone. It's powered off, and the lock button is broken. I think it turns itself back on when charged from 0%, but it was at 100% before this occurred, so it would take forever to drain the battery. Is there a way to kick the iPhone into being powered on?
I updated my iPhone 4s last night with iOS 6.1 update. This morning, the battery percentage has been falling at an alarming rate while in standby, and the phone seems to be heating up and staying at an elevated temperature while in standby. Has anyone else noticed this? This only started once I did the update. Any solutions?
I have an iphone 4 that is less than a year old that stopped taking a charge. So I let tje units battery die and one day decided to plug it in. It gav me the battery icon and indicated it was charging. As soon as it powered itself on it no longer showed the battery was charging and died a few minutes later. I'm really confuses by this. Any suggestions?
How to rate this article?
Hi all. I've already tried asking this elsewhere, but haven't really had much luck with help other than "it has to be a hardware issue". So, here goes. Note: it is far out of the warranty date, plus it's physically damaged. I have an iPhone 4 (16, I think) that was working aside from cracks in the screen. I saw it working a few months ago and it was given to me (it hasn't been used since). When I turned it on, it showed the iTunes and usb cable (indicating it needed restoring) so I tried restoring it (invalid build error I think). I kept trying again and again but got the 16xx error a few times. I have tried two different computers, different OSs, (one that didn't even ever have itunes installed) and I keep getting the same -1 error at the very very end of the restore. Early on, I was able to get it to boot and get to a passcode screen but then it said the iPhone needs to be restored after I unlocked it. It's almost like it's restoring fine and then suddenly it doesn't verify at the end with apple's servers or something. My apartment's wifi goes through an isp with security of some sort, I'm sure. Could that be an issue? I feel like it almost restores it but then it fails right at the end. Here is one of the logs--this one is the latest -1 error. It is abridged since most of it wouldn't fit. I don't know how to attach the full log. I just bought the Iphone 5 two days ago. I am having a lot of issues connecting to every other network but my own network at home At home I am using a N900 Cisco Router. The security settings on it are WPA2, My verizon carrier update is version 13.3 and I have updated to IO6.0.2. I have reset the phone to factory defualts, I have reset the network, I have powered off the phone and done everything I could to get them to work on this network. Personal. Now I have been to my girlfriends parents and many other places that are public and even after double checking the password. the Iphone 5 From Trouble shooting: I have noticed that the Iphone 5 doesn't seem to like many security options on the routers. Even on my new router I tried several different security options and it seemed to like WPA2 the best. Othrwise I was getting major issues. The iphone would connect sometimes only to be slow and not connect. The wifi signal would keep being scanned and would go out and come back in. The signal strength also qould keep fluctuation even when near the router. My brothers same andriod device was doing the same thing. My brothers Iphone 5 was doing the same thing when using the different networks. Apple there is a major problem here that needs to be addressed when refering to wifi. Considering most carriers now charge for data it is important that if I have access to all the wifi networks I can connect too. This is a major issue that needs to be resolved and looking at the forums it is not an isolated incident. Recomendations: People who call in with this issue, need to have phones replaced if not able to patch, Since no patch exists at the moment, it would be prudent to offer people who are having trouble a credit towards their wireless bill by working with cell providers and to have apple issue a version of an RMA number. Until the issue is resolved. I have 17 days to return my phone to verizon and I am going to wait to hear back. My girlfriend is in the market for a new phone and we can't have issues with a wifi connection especially when charges are going to ensue if we go over our data. Plus the unavailability of a network in areas my cell provider is not able to help with is important. We as apple users need immediate attention to this matter and it is not a matter of how the phone scans for networks. It is an issue with connectivity and how it is communicating with certain encryptions with the routers. Fix need asap. This issue is also not localized to the Iphone 5 as it is happening on the Ipad 4
I seem to having the opposite problem as most. AT&T LTE service is very good in my city. However, in an attempt to curb my data usage, I want to switch LTE off and use 2g/3g/4g. I ran a few simple battery drain tests by using a stopwatch to time how long it takes to for 1% of battery to drop then project the drain rate. I varied combinations of wifi/LTE/4g. surprisingly, with Wifi and/or LTE turned ON, I got really good drainage rates and the phone ran great. But with Wifi and LTE turned OFF, and the network defaulting to 4g, the battery was draining at twice the rate and the phone ran hot. Anyone else having this problem? Is it a hardware problem and a faulty cellular chip? Or, maybe software problem that a future iOS upgrade may fix? Thanks
My IP5 intermittently locks up (frozen screen) when the charger cord is plugged in and the battery is charged to 100%. At least, that's the only time I've noticed it. As soon as I remove the charger cord, it works normally again. Anyone else have this problem? I'm wondering if this is a bug that Apple will have to address?
Woke up to find out my iphone had sent out about 30 emails to contacts (not my full contact list - guessing maybe the last 30 contacts that have been either received/sent via email). The web site isn't one I ever remember accessing (which in iteself is weird). http://dcrconsultores.com.br/pbolqlx.pho This is a fairly new phone acquired from my provider TELUS sent directly from TELUS during the inital shipment of iphone 5's last year. I am on the latest IOS 6.0.2....model MD295C....... Any suggestions on how to fix the problem Yes I have a window's PC.....but it was powered off last night when the emails went out from my iphone....also when I checked this morning there were no outgoing emails in Outllook.......
This is an iPhone 5 16GB and has been fine since I first bought it. From 2 days ago it has started losing power at a terrific rate, losing approx 1% of battery life every 2 mins. I did download the iOS update but that was several days beforehand and it all seemed fine, it is literally over the last 2 days. Tried all the usual hints and tips for preserving battery life but even if you don't use the device the battery drains from it. It looks like a full reset does not neccessarily fix the problem so I suspect the hardware is duff. It also seems to get very hot, which cannot be a coincidence. Any ideas if the full reset will work? and if so should I restore from iCloud or iTunes??
I left my iphone sitting on the dashboard of a taxi and forgot to lift it. As soon as I got out of the taxi, I remembered so I rang the taxi company to get it for me. I also rang the phone and it was turned off, which is strange as two minutes earlier it was on and it had a 80% battery life so I knew something was strange. Suprise suprise the taxi company never found it. I went on to icloud and put the phone (the device was called jacks iphone) in lost mode and tried to track it but it was offline so I could never find it. Now several weeks down the line I went back on to icloud and this mysterious device TonkhawiPhone7_ was in my list of devices. Its an iphone 4 as well. So could this be my iphone and the person who now has it has changed the name of the device? It doesn't appear to allow me to put it in lost mode for some reason. Can apple help me get my iphone back? Thanks for reading
I have a new iphone5. I have it poweredoff and plugged into the wall, but I am not getting any charging icon. Any ideas?.. Bill Steed
Around 5am this morning I picked up my phone to look at the time and noticed that it said 'searching.....' where my carrier name should be, normally I get great signal in my home. I didn't think much of it and went back to sleep. When I woke up two hours later it still said 'searching' so I toggled airplane mode with no change. I then powered the phone off with no change, next I did a hard reset by holding the power button and home button till it shut down. Same result. 'searching.......' forever. I then plugged my iPhone into my computer and loaded up itunes, it correctly identified my phone then asked me to backup and update it to 6.0.2 firmware. Thinking that this may clear whatever bug may be affecting the 3g radio I accepted and started the process. The phone backed up without issue (thank goodness) but then as it was about to complete the firmware update it threw a -1 error back. Multiple re-attempts at restoring did not work. The iPhone now just displays the 'connect to itunes' screen. A few minutes of searching revealed that it was most likely a hardware issue. This phone has been babied, kept in a simple, low profile case, never dropped, no moisture whatsoever has touched it. It really ***** that this would happen out of the blue like this. Apple is taking care of me though, with no Apple retail shop anywhere close to me, they offered to cross-ship a new phone to me. I don't mind the hold on my credit card. Should be here just after christmas.
Hello All, I'm holding a iPhone 4S White 64gb, recently i sent my phone for repair, and after repair my phone's battery tires out rapidly compared to before. I sent to another shop for check, they mentioned that my battery has a hole and my logicboard is sending flactuate frequency. They mentioned that this is also the cause why my battery has been consumed at such a fast rate. The problem is they do not know how to repair... Anyone can advice if it's really the logicboard issue? Or just the battery or??? And anyone knows how much is a 64gb logicboard, just in case i need to replace. Thank you.
Problem on getting wifi to switch on Cannot slide the icon across at all Have reset powered down and still not working
This just started happening a few hours ago when I just unlocked my phone. There are vertical lines all over the screen and it is flashing at a constant rate, I've tried restoring it, turning it off and on but no results. Has anyone run into the same problem? And if so can you help?
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2246056/Woman-takes-picture-mobile-phone -stolen-nightclub-unwittingly-sends-owner.html A woman has unwittingly taken a picture of herself on a stolen iPhone that has then been sent to its rightful owner. With a downloaded app, the owner was able to take a photo of the woman as she tried to unlock the +$400 (£319) mobile phone, as well as map the phone's location after it was stolen from the Coalition nightclub in Brighton, East Sussex earlier this month. The owner, armed with the information and the photo emailed to them by the app, called Sussex Police. The dark-haired woman appeared to be sitting in a car as she tried to access the white iPhone 4. Police said they do not know whether the woman pictured was responsible for the theft but they appealed for her or anyone who recognises her to contact them. Pc Gavin Crute, of Sussex Police, said: ‘The owner of the camera has a rather cool app that takes a picture of anyone who tries to unlock it, maps their current location and then sends all the info back to the owner in an email. ‘We know where and when the photo was taken and it appears to be in a vehicle with quite a large sunroof. ‘We don't know that the woman is the person who stole the camera, but she obviously has had some connection with it in the meantime and I'd like to speak to her about it.’ Anyone with information is asked to call Sussex Police on 101. There are various iPhone apps that track stolen iPhones. It is thought that the app used was iGotYa which is activated when a wrong passcode is entered into the phone keypad. iGotYa is a third-party app, made by Cyndia, which is not available in the official Apple store. It is an alternative to Apple's free Find My iPhone software, which shows a stolen phone's approximate location on a map but does not take a picture of its user. Device Locator costs $2.99 (£1.86) allows the phone owner to track the location of a misplaced iPhone and take a photo which is then sent to a website where the photo can be viewed. This app also allows the user to trigger an audible alarm on the phone. GadgetTrak costs $3.99 (£2.48) can generate location reports, send discreet messages to the device and also take a photo of the thief. The latest statistics reveal 170 iPhones are stolen every day in London, many of them from pedestrians targeted by muggers on bicycles. The wife of Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason recently said she is now too scared to use her phone in public after she was mugged while walking her dogs. Annette Mason had her iPhone snatched from her grasp by a bike-riding hoodie as she was trying to send a text. Okay just who do I gotta convince at Apple to get them to add this to the App Store? Or at least get the feature where a picture, location, date & time is sent back to my email whenever someone enters in the wrong password? I just heard about this story today & taught that's an incredibly beneficial feature to have. Now my iPhones not jailbroken and I really have no interest in jailbreaking so I can't get this app but I would vary much like to see this added to Find My iPhone.
So according to this article the only sensor is on the SIM tray but shouldnt it be one in the headphone jack or on the lightning connector?
I've reset my Jawbone Prime. It goes into auto pairing mode. iPhone 5 sees "jawbone" but won't pair. Any advice? I've already tried the following protocols from online support communities. Thanks for your help, Janet To reset your Jawbone Prime simply follow the steps listed below: 1. Press and hold down the Talk Button on the Jawbone Prime. (It does not matter whether the Prime is on or off.) 2. Connect the Jawbone Prime to the USB charger cable. (The cable needs to be plugged into an active USB port or to an electrical outlet via the Wall Charger unit.) 3. Release the Talk Button. 4. Disconnect the Jawbone Prime from the USB charger cable. Turn on the Jawbone. It should begin to flash red every six seconds when it is turned on. While it is flashing red press the following sequence of buttons. NoiseAssassin Button, Talk Button, Talk Button, NoiseAssassin Button, Talk Button, Talk Button The Jawbone should flash red/white/red/white showing that it is in a manual pairing mode. Pairing mode will last for three minutes or until pairing is complete. THIRD : powered up iphone 4 while Jawbone flashing red/white. Turned on Bluetooth ( Settings / General /Bluetooth ON ). Jawbone PAIRED with iphone4 AUTOMATICALLY ( no request for 0000 code ) and Jawbone flashes WHITE when paired and on. I tried this too:i was having problems with pairing my "JAWBONE" bluetooth device. i followed the directions and still nothing. i turned on the bluetooth on my iphone the auto search kept searching for devices but nothing would show up. i called tech support and was told to go to "settings" then switch the "airplane mode" on and off several times then turn the bluetooth on and off and then back on. it started worked instantly!

I updated to iTunes 11 today and was promptly asked to update my iPhone Remote app as well. I didn't see any reason not to do so so I did. I noticed very quickly after playing around with the new app that there doesn't appear to be a way to rate songs in my iTunes library from the app anymore. It may sound silly but this was a very important feature of the old app to me. I like to listen to music and play PC games at the same time and I would rate songs using the app since it was too cumbersome to minimize my games and rate them on iTunes directly. When I click on the icon on the top corner of the app it takes to me to the current playlist instead of the album/song info it used to before. Is there no new way to rate songs? This *****.
I finally upgraded to a iPhone 5 from my old 3G and I cannot get it to connect ot my home WiFi. It can see the WiFi and I have WEP encription on the network using a Netgear WGT624v3 wireless router and 128bit encryption and when I enter the password, the iPhone gives me an "incorrect Password" warning. I have tried several times to enter it and even texted it to the phone and copied and pasted it to avoid any typos to no avail. I have powered down the router, removed the encryption, tried another encryption key, rebooted the iPhone but cannot get it to connect. This is a router with a 802.11 g and b protocol working on channel 11 and I have not had issue with our iPad 2, my wife's iPhone 3GS, my old iPhone 3G or our Macbook Pro. I also tried to enter the network manually and it just does not want to accept the password whether it needs one or not. What am I not doing correctly? I say that there were some issues when people upgraded from an earlier operating system to the current one but this is a new phone as of yesterday??
Since I have the new iPhone 5 I notice a bad calling voice quality. Especially at home were I had before never problems with my iPhone 3. The person on the other side understands my fine only I cannot understand the calling person. At the conversation parts are missing, that I even not understand what the other person means. Carrier is O2 in Germany, I already order a new SIM Card on the advice of the Apple Support, where I already open up a case. What I am concerned about and is Apple already working on this, is that I already found a lot of forum article, about this issue and all didn’t had any solution, even after change the SIM card and replacement iPhone from Apple the bad calling voice quality stayed.
I have to double click my buttons before it accepts my inputs (i.e. passcode numbers). Just started today. Have powered it down severla times. The screen seems to be locked also, will not let me navagate up or down with finger. Help!
