Static noise when recording video with iPhone 4S this normal

Hi, I bought an iPhone 4S at the end of May time and it was taken back due to dead pixels once, then the newer one had the same issue so was returned again. The third one which I had replaced last Thursday has a different problem. All is well with the phone is what I initially thought (no dead pixels at least...) I recorded a video earlier on and played it back and noticed it has a very loud hissing/static type sound to it. Even over the voices or any type of noise. I am not sure why this is happening, I removed the case and it still happened. I read online that people have used an app called Qik so I downloaded that and tried it - the same noise occurs. Is this normal for a 4S? Or should I take it back a third time?  Thanks in advance.

How to use iMessage for specific contacts iPhone 5

I'm thinking this is impossible, but I thought I'd post and see if I could get an answer. I am running short on data and have unlimited texts and therefore I turned iMessage off because I don't have access to WiFi anywhere. But I found out that it's the only way that I can contact some friends that are out of the country. Is there a way that I can enable iMessage only for those people and leave it disabled for everyone else? I've looked through the forums and searched for the answer, but I can't even find someone who has the same problem as me. Any help would be appreciated.

My sister and myself are getting each others text messages. Help Hard Question iPhone

This whole problem started when I first got my Iphone 5 around christmas time of last year. And i did the normal activation of my new Iphone and syncing my old iphone 4 with this new phone. I synced everything and it was all good, but i started to get these random text from people in my message log. I soon found out that i was recieving every text that was sent to my sister. And if i replied to someone who was texting my sister it would show up like she texted them, not me on a seperate number. Also when i text my sister she would get the text but immidiatly after i sent her it, i would also get a text from myself saying what i sent her. I will literally get a text message from my own number to myself, (Weird ****). So its like my sisters text messaging is fused with mine. Its only messages though, no images or anything else. In the beginging i didnt care about this becasue she wasnt recieving my text i was only getting hers. But now just today she tells me she is getting my text too. And thats a problem! This problem lasted all the way up to about 2 months ago and then i stopped getting her messages. But i gave one of my friends my old iphone 4 and once they activated it for there own use it started to happen again. They use a seperate plan then i do and there number on the phone is different. Before i gave them the phone i wiped everything off of it. i took off the contacts, messages, everything. They use a different apple account and icloud account now on the phone. So idk why it started up again i need help. Here is some background. My whole family shares the same apple account with everything. We have seperate phones, numbers and data for the most part. But with dealing with Icloud and itunes anything like that, we use the same account. My sister uses a Iphone 4s btw. With my old Iphone 4 i had no probelms with this, everything was normal. But once i switched to the new iphone 5 this problem has occured. Idk what this is about, i havent heard anyone else with this problem, but i need help! btw my other family members on their phones do not have this problem. So i think it has to do something with the icloud but im not sure! This is a serious problem and i need help! Goodluck!

Receiving US number s imessages to international number iPhone

Hi all,  Haven't been able to find anything on this. I have an iPhone 4s which I had been using to iMessage over wifi with my friends while I'm in China (took out my Verizon sim card). I got an international (China Mobile) SIM card today after unlocking w/ verizon, etc. But now my old number is not "registered" with iMessage (I checked this in messages on my macbook) and changing my number in my phone isn't helping.  Is there a way that I can readd my US number so that when people iMessage my US phone number it goes to my iPhone which is now a different, international number?  My Apple ID still has my old number registered in it, but the Messages settings in my phone show the new international number without a means to add my old number. I'd rather use my US number over my Chinese phone number if theres a way that I can set it back to that number.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Can t send emails on iPhone 4s. No error messages. App just quits.

Hello, and thank you for reading. I have an iPhone 4s, and my primary email account is Gmail. I can receive emails, but I can't send them. When I try to click on the little pen icon to write an email, the app crashes/quits and I'm sent back to the homescreen. I saw that most people who can't send email receive an error message, but I've never received an error message, the app just stops. I checked in the Settings, and every thing seems to be in order (I'm not extremely tech savvy, so I could be wrong). I started to experience this problem maybe a week ago. Also, my Messages app can be a little sketchy sometimes too. When I'm connected to Wifi and trying to send an iMessage, the message won't send and there will be a little red exclamation point next to the message. My Messages app works sometimes, but do you all think that the problems are linked somehow? Any help is GREATLY appreciated. I'm out of the office a lot, and it's an inconvinecne that I can't send emails while I'm on the road. Iphone 4S Wifi slider not working

Hello everyone, I've recently got my WIFI slider greyed out. I was on a lower version than 6.1.3 before I got this issue, now after trying several resets and network resets and other stuff such as using the hair-dryer trick and freezer trick it didn't work. Now as I've seen in a tutorial on Apple it says you must go to Settings --> About --> Resets and then reset the network settings, but after doing that my Wifi-Adress stays with some numbers instead of N/A which other people gets, I still have a WIFI-Adress in it no matter if I reset my whole Iphone or not. Airpot has always been off, when I'm in the menu of setting Iphone up, it most likely skips the Find wifi part where you connects to your WIFI. The Iphone it self has not even a scratch, I've not really dropped it before or anything, I've had it for some time now but not really got it damaged. So people, any ideas? It's running on IOS 6 6.1.3 now.

I am planning on buying an unlocked iPhone 5 with T-Mobile Nano S . I have few questions.

I was planning on buying a 32GB unlocked iPhone 5 with the T-Mobile Nano Sim. I was going to activate the Sim with T-Mobile's prepaid $30 unltd text/data with 100 minutes plan. I've read some stories online where people were only able to use the Sim with T-Mobile's post-paid plans. Will the Sim that comes included work with prepaid and post-paid plans?  Also, assuming that it does work with prepaid, what steps would I need to go through to activate the iPhone? Assuming that it doesn't, would cutting down a prepaid Micro Sim from T-Mobile to Nano Sim size work normally? Thank you in advance!

4S-No sound from speaker no mic no vibration doesn't detect headphones iPhone 4

Hello, I just replaced my 4S's display, and after reassembly the iPhone powered on as normal, but - there is no sound, mic or vibration what so ever. It doesn't detect a headphone jack either. The mute button and volume buttons work just fine, volume control shows up but there is no vibrate or sound at all.  So this basically makes it useless as a phone ... Anyone know what could be causing the issue? I tightened the screws, tried reconnecting the cables and the speakers. Hoping this is not an issue with the audio IC. Definately not software related, tried full DFU restore, tried cleaning the dock connector and jack, the iPhone is NOT stuck in dock connector mode. TL;DR: No sound from any speaker, no vibrate what so ever, no mic, doesn't detect headphone jack. Anyone know what's wrong? Could it be a damaged Audio IC (don't really see how this can happen)? Broken flex cable?

iPhone won't Charge iPhone 5

Okay so i had problems with my iPhone earlier. It would power off randomly when I was or wasnt using it. And i also charged it when I had 30% but on the top right corner for the battery icon, where its suppose to show ' charging ' it showed Fully charged. and after it died, I plugged it back in with it saying its charging. The symbol with a low red battery with a charging sign. It stayed on that symbol for more than 12 hours and never turned on to the lock screen. And if i take it out of charge, it completely shuts off.But when i plug it back in , it has the apple symbol from when you turn it back on after you powered it off. It did that symbol repeatedly. Please help. The problem: Won't charge or turn on to lock screen  Is there anyway I can do it besides taking it to Apple? Thanks (: I don't think I backed up anything, but I maybe did and I have lots of things on my phone. So is there any other solutions that I can use besides restoring it?

iPhone 5 conversation delay

I recently got the iPhone 5 from Tmobile. It's my first iPhone and I've been enjoying the features very much. The only problem I've noticed, and it's rather annoying, is a 4-5 second speech delay. I called Tmobile and had them send me a new one, hoping this was simply a defect of the particular phone. But I've just set up my new iPhone  and it has the same problem. I've spoken to numerous people on Verizon, Tmobile, Sprint, AT&T, and landlines and have experienced this problem with each conversation. I have done this is different areas of my home as well as different areas around town with the same results.I've had many of them repeat words or phrases after I've finished speaking and the delay is always 4 or 5 seconds. Because of this, conversation is difficult. There is a lot of speaking at the same time due to this delay and I find it very frustrating. Before I call Tmobile about this phone, I wanted to ask if anyone else has experienced this issue. Is it a tmobile problem or an iPhone problem.

Battery losing it's mind iPhone 4S

Hello, my wife's iPhone 4S seems to be losing its mind.  It will show 60% battery then less than an hour later its down to 1%.  Now, ordinarily I would say this is just a battery incapable of holding a charge, but it seems like this might be something else.  When we plug the phone in, it almost instantly will jump to 20-30% charged.   We've tried doing a full wipe/restore through iTunes, but that resulted in no changes. I'd take it to the Apple Store and ask for a battery repair (really, just a swap for a different refurb I assume) and pay the $80.  However, looking online it sounds like Apple wont do this for any phones showing signs of damage.  This makes sense, since they dont want people just swapping out busted phones for pristine refurbs.  Well, the wife's phone has a single hairline crack in the front glass. It happened shortly after purchase and has never impacted performance.  We didnt have the foresight to purchase accidental damage protection coverage...   Its a small crack and my wife didnt want to hassle with trying to send it in for repair.  Sure wish we had now... Not sure what to do at this point.  Suggestions? Thanks Eric

How much will it cost to repair smashed back of my iPhone 4

Okay, so today I leant over to pick up my ruler which I'd dropped and my iPhone slipped out of my pocket. Ironically, I'd put it in the inside pocket so it wouldn't slip out, and I've had it for 6 months and have been very careful with it until today. Needless to say I am absolutely gutted about this, and am hoping to replace the back of it. Looking online, some people claim that if I took it to an Apple store, they would either replace it for free or I would have to pay £29, however I'm not sure whether Apple have changed their policy about free first time repairs since the release of the iPhone 5/4S. I'm willing to pay because it was my own fault, but I wanted to know how much it would be before waltzing into an Apple store.  One other thing, would I have to tell my Mum? Because she recently told off my younger sister for smashing the screen of her iPod and used me as an example of being careful, and I know she'd be devastated by this too. (Not to mention how much she'd freak out about it!)  I don't want to replace the back myself with cheaper parts from eBay because I know it'll damage my warranty if I do (I'm not sure whether smashing the screen comes under the warranty, I don't think it will.).

Phone turns off with lots of battery left iPhone 4S

My iPhone 4S has taken to turning off with as much as 30% power left. When I plug it in again and it comes back up, it will indicate the same power percentage. I have made it a habit of draining the battery at least once a month and then fully charging it (probably that happens more than once a month), so I feel like I've been properly maintaining the battery. I got this when the 4S came out, so it's as old as the 4S model is. Oddly, if I'm on the phone this does not happen. It will run down to 1%. Maybe that's coincedence, maybe not. It's quite irritating - isn't this supposed to be the software/hardware that "just works"? - when you're doing something important and this happens. Today two armadillos appeared in our back yard and I was shooting some video of them. I got a low battery warning - I'm not sure if it was the 10% or 20% warning - but then right after clearing it, the phone shut down. I had some good video, but instead of using the remaining power to save the video, the video was just lost. I had never seen armadillos up close like that and was wanting that video to show my son and some other people, but now due to this problem that video is gone. Thanks a lot, Apple!

HI people, i have the following problem, i bought the iPhone 5 white 32 gb , 4 monts ago, the problem started this week, my touch screen dont respond somethimes, but everything else works, like the home button, volume keys, etc. the solution is lock and unlock to get it working again, but in question of minutes starts failing, i did a restore 3 times and a DFU restore just in case, im really worried because i live in argentina,i went to North America for the winter,and i cant go back to EE.UU to get a replacement, please help , for what i think its not a hardware problem, because it works really well, when it works,but i dont know.

I am pretty frustrated i bought a Iphone 4 from a friend for $50.00 USD. I'm very unhappy to say i wish i would of spent that $50.00 USD on a Htc or Galaxy i would like to have a disscussion or for apple to see that all apple devices should have speak to text or talk to text ( Microphone on imessage or the default green message app ) so that people can be hands free when they are texting . I tried to switch S card for my iphone 4 but now original S wont let me use number

Hello! So i have recently disconnected my att phone service and for a few weeks i have still been able to text and communicate using wifi which allowed me to use my old number. Today i was told about a phone service by the name of h2o which is ran through att but i was unsatisfied with not being able to use normal iphone functions so i replaced the new h2o sim card with my previous one. Upon doing so i was directed that iMessage was "waiting for activation" and no longer gave me the option to use my previous number like i had been doing before. All i want is to be able to communicate with people using my number like i was before, and i would like to know if there was a connection problem when i switched services or is this just no longer avaliable to me! iPhone 5 battery life and speaker issues

Hey guys. Not sure if anyone else is having this issue but firstly. The battery life *****. And really *****. I let phone completely drain at least twice a month. Then fully charge it. Not a huge user but data I know eats it. We are talking literally within two hours of not using it and it will be down to 59%. Didn't expect this off a phone like this. iPhone 4S beats it hands down. Considering going back to it tbh.  Speaker issues are terrible. Tried the music on full pause. Then exit. Then test but still nothing. Rang apple they say its not a fault but why would other people be reporting it.  iPad 4 users. Do you have issues with battery life too? And very slow charge and very quick drain. This is a joke. Nearly a Grands worth of kit and you feel like your using a Nokia 3310.  #annoyed!

Tons of problems with iPhone 5

Just bought a brand new iPhone 5 from Rogers (Canada) in December. For the month that I've had it I've had MAJOR problems with this device. I've had no major problems with my iPhone 3G and iPhone 4S, by the way.- Incoming calls get randomly dropped. No "busy signal", the line simply drops dead for whoever tries to call me. It doesn't even alert me that someone tried to call me. I'll only find out later if that person attempts to call again. But what if it's an important call and the person doesn't try calling again? Then I'm screwed. I've tested this by calling my iPhone 5 from another cellphone by holding each phone in one hand. Out of 20 calls, at least 4-5 calls are dropped- Touch screen irresponsive- Very weak signal (on my 3G and 4S the signal bar is usually completely full or one bar from full, on my iPhone 5 it's almost always only half full or less), the signal drops randomly outside (especially when I'm driving, the signal will just poof)I've already exchanged the phone TWICE. First time they exchanged it without question. Second time they told me it could be a carrier issue then told me to reset, restore, etc etc, then gave me a new one again. I'm on my third one, none of these problems are fixed.What are the chances I got 3 defective phones in a row? Seriously what is going on here? I've installed pretty much nothing on this phone except Facebook, Twitter, and Skype. Yes I've resetted and restore like N times, and I'm on latest firmware. What should I do? I don't even know if it's a Rogers problem or I've just had the worst luck in the world with 3 defective phones in a row, because none of the customer service people are able to tell me exactly what in the world is going on.

Wifi on 4s greyed out need to back up

About 4 months ago, my Apple store kindly replaced my cracked iphone with a new one. the problem is, this new iphone has some issues. It worked fine until after about a month when the phone ran out of battery and when i charged it i discovered the wifi "on/off" button was "greyed out" as people refer to it as being. I serched for hours and tried many solutions to no luck. I then contacted Apple support and the person still didnt know how to fix it. this is a big issue because there are many things i need wifi for most importantly being the ICloud back up. Anyways, i accedentally let the battery drain and the wifi option was back! i quickly backed up my phone and i thought that was a one time thing. however, the phone wasnt picking up any signal from my home wifi  so i turned off the phone and turned it back on (seeing if it would hopefully come back on) only to find the wifi was "greyed out" again. this time i did everything and it didint work until about last week. last week the wifi lasted for one day and now it doesnt pick any wifi signal from anything or anywhere. tried connecting it to itunes to see if anything wuld happen and a pop-up told me that my iphone doesnt work on itunes.. it also told me to restore it but i dont want to restore it in case the wifi greys out again..... ...here is the main problem i guess haha... how can i back up my current phone if i cannot get wifi to pick up.I am going to go to the Apple store sometime soon and i should have my back up ready for when i get the newly working phone. but i cant back up without wifi and im hesitant to turn off the phone because i dont want it to grey out again becuase i wouldnt know how to get it working again. Or should i not worry about backing it up but just focus on getting the new phone and just use the last back up from about a month and a half ago. Replacement battery for iPhone 5 unstable phone crashing. Putting old battery in fixes everything. HELP

I got a new battery for my iPhone 5, after I suspected my old one was damaged when I encountered a software bug that caused high power drain, making the entire phone very hot. I installed the battery and the phone booted without problem. I noticed that the phone was hiccuping a bit - not responding to input, swipes, scrolling, etc as quickly as before. I then noticed the phone rebooting randomly. I thought the LCD cable wasn't plugged in all the way, so I messed with that for a couple of hours, but couldn't get the rebooting issue to go away. I then decided to swap my old battery in, and voila, it worked. I did some searching for others with the same problem, I found mainly cases with the 3G and 3GSs and a bit of hardware incompatibility between new batteries and the phone. Seemed the fix that most people did was to keep on buying batteries until they found a stable one. Is this a problem with the iPhone 5's as well? If so, is there a better fix?

Lost Iphone 5-Please help

Hi I bought iPhone 5 ,  3 weeks ago. Went to a party and by the time i come back to my car , i realized i lost my phone,i asked every one and searched every where,tried to locate through "Find my Phone" but no use. But same night one of the persons participated in the party flew to Mexico, I doubt he might have picked it from my table or pocket while i was not attentive and I also knew that he is of that "kind of person" but couldn`t dare to ask "his" people here as it may bounce back to me if "he" is not the actual thief. My question is : if some one steel it switched it off and took it to some other country , can it be traced by any chance and by any means ?  I have very important and personal/delicate information in it. Can some one please help me ?Thanks

lock button on my iPhone 5 not work anymore what I

I have had my iPhone 5 for 6 months and the lock button now does not work. I do not expect to pay this amount of money for the phone for the button not to work just months later (especially when I look after it) I have heard a lot of people have had the same problem. Iphone 5 that I've had for less than a year seems to have horrible battery life. I'm mainly on wifi all day long with very strong signal. Most of my 8-10 hr day is occassionally checking my hotmail or exchange email.  My Time since last charge currently at 43%: usage is 3hrs and 34 minutes, and standby time of 9 hours and 35 minutes.  The strangest issue I'm having is when I record video. I'll usually record 2-3GB worth of video (over 8-10 videos) in a day depending on what I'm uploading to youtube. I'll record a bunch of video, and look at the battery life. It will drop down to 2-3% after recording, and sometimes even shut the phone all the way off. Press the power button and it blinks at you to plug it in. I'll go plug it in, and when it powers back on, it will be anywhere from 20-50% power (1 minute after plugging it in).  Yesterday it was down to 3%, so I powered it off, then back on again, and it jumped back up to 54% I've done a wipe and reset to factory and restore from iCloud and that doesn't seem to have done much.  I've drained the battery all the way dead, and let it recharge fully mulitple times, no help their either. I'm using the factory Iphone charging cable and wall charger.  Has anyone seen this before? Do I have a faulty battery? I've recorded hundreds of videos with my iphone 4 and never had issues with excessive drain while recording, and the same on my wife's 4S..Thanks

My iPhone 5 wont connect to my itunes

Hi every one I posted this same problem up a few months ago and i have tried everything that people had posted and i havent managed to fix the problem. So im just going to run through it again and hope someone might come through with something new that i havent tried so here goes this is the story. My iPhone 5 or iPad Mini used to connect to itunes fine but now have suddenly stopped for some reason. Im sure that the problem is something thats changed on my computer because it connects to an other laptop no problem so something isnt right. Ive tried pretty much everything on the apple site that people have recomended but was just woundering weather anyone knew anything else. I also have an iPod Nano but this has the old 30pin connector lead and heres the weird thing it connects no problem so why does the iphone and ipad not connect ?????? I have tried differnt leads and a connector which connects to my iphone then connects with a 30 pin connector and no luck . Any help would be very grateful Thanks

Why Apple doesn't change my iphone in Argentina Why have I to go USA for change iPhone 4S

On febraury I bought an Iphone 4S but now the wifi doesn't work, this is a common problem in the Iphone, but now I am in Argentina and in my country there isn't any place where repair my telephone. I called to Apple to tech support and they told me they could not assist me because they only assist people from Mexico and Canada, and that I had to speak to an authorized service center in Argentina, so I went to the place they told me, in that place I say they can not sorting the problem, that the only solution is to travel to USA to change.Because they tell me that if in legal terms of the warranty states that if Apple so you can make changes determined through some mail? Why not give me that option? I have the right to use my iPhone in its 100%, the truth that without wifi and bluetooth is how to use it by 50%.Any recommendations?

My iphone 4 powered off by itself while i was using it. I know it didnt go dead, becuause it had 40% battery left, It will not charge, and my lock button is broken. It will not come on at all when i plug in the charger. Can someone please help and tell me if there is anyway i can power it back on myself?

Iphone 5 unlocked Amazon Very Problem

Good night;guys, I have a problem and would like some help:I bought it on Amazon, 1 Iphone 5 Unlocked, factory unlocked. The device functioned normally and after an update, it did not take over my chip and says the device is locked (is asking to put a valid chip). After several attempts, I got in touch with the Apple of my country (Brazil), and to my surprise, the search for the serial device, they reported that the device is locked by Sprint and manufactures do not accept support or exchange (The unit has 1 month bought with full price in amazon), telling me to settle with Amazon. I insisted informing them that the unit was purchased unlocked and they also reported that this device is aimed at the European market, it works with CDMA and GSM and Apple Brazil suporPelas just the research I have done and talking to some people, I passed the information that Sprint can easily inform this code (or Imei) not sure which unlocks the device again, but have no information on how to get or do that. I contacted Amazon stating what happened and I'm waiting for a position within it, is to send the code or return the handset. My model is the A1429. iPhone 4 upgrade iOS5 iOS6 yes or no

I've got an iPhone 4 running iOS5 and I was wondering if I should upgrade to iOS6? Quite a few people seem to have had issues with lagging apps and battery drain. Has this been fixed now in subsequent updates or should I stay well clear? Finally, is there anything else I need to be aware of? Cheers!

iPhone 5 battery phone suddelny switches of at 15

Hi people, I have an iPhone 5 64 GB and of course all the newest software. In the recent days, it happened twice to me that the phone would suddenly switch of at around 13-15% battery! When I try to turn it on immedietaley, i will get the "empty battery"-symbol. However, after waiting for some 20-30 minutes, when i turn it on again, it will just work and display a battery of around 13-15% again. Very strange. Never had this behaviour at iPhone 4 or 4s Any ideas? thanks
