My iPhone 5 won't stay powered down.

I am able to power down my iPhone 5, by sliding the red slider. But then about 30 seconds later, it powers back up by itself.  I've already done the Sleep/Snooze button and the Home button together for 10 seconds, but to no avail. Any other suggestions?

Ringer not working iPhone 4S

When a call or text is coming throug there is no sound. The settings seem fine. When I switch the side button to red nothing happens. What used to happen would be the bell sign would come up with a line through it indicating the ringer was switched off but now nothing happens whichever way I switch it. Vibrate is switched on in settings but it isn't vibrating either. Interestingly the alarm is working so the sounds are not completely gone.  I have powered it off an back on etc., but it hasn't made any difference. Any advice. Thanks Paula

iOS 6.1.4 Overheating high Battery Consumption iPhone 5

Having issues with iOS 6.1.4 heating up (in standby) and high battery consumption in standby. It's not consistant but I will, sporatically, notice my phone warming up, in my pocket, to pull it out, turn the screen on and then off again and it'll cool down.Battery consumption is also very high (worse than iOS 6.1 update issue) and is drained quickly. I've closed all active applications (but mail and calendar as I need for work) and still will occur.

iPhone 4 battery drain when powered off

Lately I've been turning off my phone and when I turn it back on battery is drained. Yesterday I turned it off at 80% and when I turned it back on 3 hours later it was at 62%. Then today I turned it off at 50% and when I turned it back on it was at 32%! Does anyone know why my iPhone is losing battery even when it's completely powered off? I feel like it shouldn't be losing any battery at all

All of a sudden I lost my wifi signal....Checked out the settings and the WiFi is off and unable to turn it back on....i have powered down the phone...i have done a full restore and the wifi switched remains greyed out....any suggestions?

Power button stopped working on my 2 phones one else iPhone 4S

The power button on my daughters iPhone 4S started to work only intermittently, I thought it was her phone, I have the same phone and not my power button doesn't work at all.  The phone itself seems to work fine, just the button. Has anyone else had this happen? It's obviously defective if it happens to both phones. I've taken very good care of my phone, always in a protective case, screen protectors, etc. I have the warranty coverage that Verizon offers, but I don't think I should have to pay a high deductible for a new phone if the phone has a defect. Help please!

Battery life-iphone 4

Well I tried turning off the Bluetooth, turning off WIFI, turning off location services, and all Push activity.  After all of this my battery lasts about 8 hours.  I guess I could keep the phone powered off but I think that kind of defeats the purpose of owning the phone. Any studies on the lifespan of an iPhone 4 battery?  My applecare warranty runs out in a few months.

Poor battery life iPhone 5

My iphone 5 has the latest ios 6.1.3 and the battery life is hit and miss. The phone has been factory wiped in itunes and re set up. It sometimes will drop 50 percent on its own in a couple hours. If i do the home button and power reset on the phone the battery will report better. Maybe its a software glitch. I was also disappointed with the fact that i bought a high end home stereo and the iphone doesnt support the new apt-x codec yet their laptops do?  Why is this. Its no wonder apple stocks are falling. I have owned every iphone since the 3gs and really have not seen any real improvements other than processors and screens. Poor customizations, lack of ability to personalize the phone and really nothing to keep me with buying another apple. This is unfortunate as the hardware is great but the feature set just hasn't improved in 5 years. In fact i think it has gotten worse. Being a communications tech i used to use wifi apps for testing signal strength on installed accesspoints and those apps got stripped be ause of apples sdk or whatever it was. The slew of apps on the android market for this is staggering. Now i see that motorola, htc and samsungs are all supporting the apt-x codec but no apple. Gps apps are poor and apple maps for our area are black and whit and half are covered in clouds from the satellite view so you cant see the streets anyways. As a business phone the iphone is looking less imoressive day by day. As a music player its also now being outdone. I hope apple takes some of this to heart and really does something impressive to IOS 7 to restore faith in its fans. And maybe some day we will be able to use one of our songs for a ring tone instead of having to pay. My old cdma phone even had this ability.

My mom passed me her phone as she couldn't get it to restart.  I got it to charge and restart in recovery mode.  However, I've tried all steps on this and many other forums and it is stuck in "trying to restore".  On the phone, it will blink a white screen, show the apple logo and a progress bar then quickly disappear then on the computer give me error code 9.  I have tried 3 different cords, on both my MacBook Air and my iMac.  Same results on both computers.  She purchased a new phone as she couldn't do without, but would love to fix this phone and give to one of my children.  This phone has not been jailbroken.  Any help would be sooooo appreciated!  Not sure what will happen if I try to take this to Apple.

Iphone 5 no longer connecting to bluetooth in car

My Iphone 5 has been connected succesfully via bluetooth to my car for the past 5 months (Ford Fiesta).  Yesterday I went to use it and it wont connect, I powered off the phone, turned bluetooth on/off still not working. I debonded all phones from the car and went to start afresh but that wont work either. When it is searching for devices it just seems to be stuck?  I tried another Iphone 5 in my car and that connected no problems at all. Anyone have any ideas, it clearly must be the phone but wonder what on earth I have done.

Pls have this to pay attention for. If this is a hardware problem, what must be done to repair it? If that's a bug, when shall A.guys have a fix for that.BTW, may that be a problem actually linked to Bluetooth connectivity in the first turn? Bluetooth connectivity option is constantly "trying to determine it's state" (BT option setting shows "busy" running circle instead of on/off state), and after it finally gets to off state there appears to happen some change to wifi option behavior. Once it had even started back for an hour, but fell back to disabled soon afterwards.At least both these problems appeared together at the same time.All possible resets, firmware restores and 6.0.1 did not fix that. Shall I need to jailbreak the OS to fix it? And btw, the whole situation already ran a lot of people into high spendings for their 2g/3G overwhelming cellular data traffic. Apple to apologize for that at least? Or shall there be iPhone 6 and the problem would remain unfixed and unnoticed?

iPhone 4 has very short WiFi range

I have an 8Gb iPhone 4 that I bought new in December.  Two days ago, it stopped connecting to my home WiFi network unless it is really close to my router, and it won't connect to my university's WiFi network either.  When I go to Settings -> WiFi, it shows that no networks are in range.  It connects to my home router when I take it within four feet of the router, but when I walk to a different room it disconnects and goes back to 3G; I haven't found a router at school to try this with yet.  My phone has auto-connected to both my home and school networks for months now.  I know the problem is with the phone, because my Macbook Pro connects to both networks without any trouble. I've tried turning my phone's WiFi off and on, turning my phone off and on, and turning the WiFi off, then turning the phone off, then turning both back on to no avail.  Any help is appreciated.

My iPhone 4 died and won't turn back on. It's been on charger for 17 hours.

Last night my phone went completely dead while I was doing something for school. I put it on the charger as soon as I got into the car, maybe 30 minutes after it went dead. It's been charging for 17 hours and still shows an empty battery with a flash underneath.  I've tried everything. I've attempted a hard reset multiple times, the screen goes black for maybe two seconds and then the empty battery comes back. Tried restarting my computer while my phone was plugged into it. Tried pressing the home button while plugging it into my computer. My computer isn't recognizing it when I plug the phone in.  I am desperate. I don't have the money to buy a new phone. Please help.  It hasn't been dropped. No water damage. I've never broken an iPhone before.

my wifi only works when i put my 4s in refrigarator

hey guys  i bought my iphone 4s about 4 months ago, and about  month ago when i came back from camping i turned on my iphone wich was turned of for about 5 days (at home in my drawer). i had  9 updates listed on the app store and let them update  all off them at the same time. meanwhile i was also on a Viber call.(using wifi) then after 10 minutes or so the call died.the wifi could not connect anymore and later the wifi option turned grey and could not be turned on or off.i reset the iphone , and also rebooted the device . still the wifi option remained grey.during this period after, the iphone also was turning very hot  at times and the battery could not hold longer then 4 hours. about 2 weeks after the wifi option turned grey, one morning when i got up i realised that my battery percentage was still high(usually if i went to bed with 100% , it was about 50%or so when i got up.). then i went to the wifi option and realised that i could turn it on.it got connected to the wifi and check if it was working by opening facebook. i was functioning normally as if nothing had happened. i remember that  night was really cold and  i had my airconditioning on . that same day  i realised the wifi could not stay connected for long  to wifi . the battery issue remained normal when the wifi cant connect i put the iphone in the refrigarator for about ten minutes. and when i take it out the wifi works again after that the wifi can hold for about an 2 or more depending on what i do on my phone.  i did no try to take it for repair , not yet i just want to know if im the only one with this problem and what the problem really is.and if putting youre iphone in the refrigarator can do damage. thanks in advance

Iphone 5 issues

I switched from an Iphone 4S to a 5 yesterday.  My contacts did not all switch.  The volume keeps resetting to the lowest amount.  When I set the volume to high, it does not set Siri's to high.  I can barely hear Siri.  I used ITUNES for a backup on my 4S.  Most of my apps wouldn't transfer, it said not enough room.  All my songs are greyed out and not playable.  I am using the same ITUNES account.  This is a NIGHTMARE.  All my email settings will not stay.  The programs keep asking for the passwords, even though they have been entered multiple times.  I read the email, then the next time I open the email account it prompts for a password.   I HATE THIS PHONE.

iPhone 4s not charging

My iPhone 4s is not charging.  Last few days it was eating up the battery life quicker than usual.  Tried doing all the power up deals, turning off then on, even a restore.  It is now completely powered off and not turning on even when plugged in.  I'm out of ideas.  A little help please!Thanks

We have been having trouble with our iPhone 4. It will just die. I researched the web and was able to find the information to restart it by pushing both buttons. This resets it, but does not last. I did a complete reset on the phone then updated it, but it continues to turn off and has to be restarted. It is out of warranty, any help would be great.

iPhone 4 question

Will apple replace an iPhone (out of warranty) with a broken glass panel in the back and possibly some water damage. I am positive that there is also hard rive and mother board, and battery problems it won't come on and the back glass is broke. Will apple be able to replace and how much would it cost. And when it did work the flashlight would flicker high and low and would be really hot and the screen would be blank or would have black or white lines through it.

iPhone 4 please help

My uncle gave me one of his "broken" iPhones. Well when I got home that day I tried to power it on and the battery to wall charger came on the screen so I plugged it in and it stated charging so I left and came back to get it to watch my brother play video games in his room and when I plugged it in nothing happened. I eventually got it to work and one night I fell asleep listening to music on it and when I woke up there was water or something wet on it. The flashlight was flickering high and low like the battery was dying it was hotter than **** and no music was playing. I got up and went to the bathroom, got something to eat and came back and the light was not flickering it was still VERY HOT literally I could not pick it up it was so hot. So I put it on the charger and held the home and power buttons down to try to hard boot it but nothing happened like all the other Times it froze. My sister was playing with it a couple of days ago and banged the back of it into a corner or something and broke the back glass and I would try the rice thing butt one screw is stripped and I can't get it out to take it apart. If you have read all of that and can giver any tips or tricks on how to fix it or if can be fixed. PLEASE!!

I just started to get a SIM Failure Pop up on my iphone 5on Thursday while traveling and using Maps fornavigation. I cannot seem to remove or repair this error.I have gone to yoru support page and followedinstructions on how to reset network.I first tried to send a text and failure came up. Then resetnetwork and text went through, but pop up still came upwith Sim Failure every time I turn my phone on.I also followed instructions to remove Sim Card whenturned off and Reinserted it and that did not work either.What do I do? I have powered off, updated phone andanything on yoru site I couldl handle myself to do.Can you fix this? Or is it a Verizon Wireless issue?

iPhone 5 white squares top of screen

Appered just from nowhere, small white squares on the top of a screen. Since then my iPhone isn't responding to touch on that area for ex. I can't pull notification bar down or click high put buttons. Is there any possible way to fix it or do i need to replace the whole phone?

Hello,  Apple user's, I am a 15yr old with a passion for computers & design. Anyways I am interested in developing for the iPhone, as I'll be getting one in a few months. I've never really developed any type of games before, but am in a game design school magnet, and want to begin to learn how to program as I've been meaning to for a while now. I'm interested in developing for the iPhone, and know I need a Mac, Objective-c knowledge as well as XCode knowledge, and a $99 Subscription to be able to sell and test my apps. So here's some questions I've been wanting to ask for awhile...1. Would you recommend a Mac-Mini ? I see i5 Mac mini's on craigslist going for around $400-$450, and know I could afford that. I switch between my mom/dad's house weekly, and have a Windows based desktop that I built w/ monitor at each house, So I'm thinking i could just bring a small Mac-Mini back and forth with me, as they're pretty small.2. Could you guy's point me towards some nice Objective-C or XCode tutorials or books? I've just started spring break and want to take advantage of the time off.3. I'm only 15, so how would I go about selling apps, Ill probably have mostly free apps but would like to incorporate paid versions too, and I know i need to be 18 to sign a contract, would i just get my mom to sign the contract, and if she gets taxed extra I would just pay her the amount she was taxed ? (BTW, I'm in FL)4. How would I sell apps under a company name, I've heard of people trying to list apps and it saying they're real name instead of a company / made up name. There are obvious reasons I'd like to sell an app under a company name, no one wants to buy an app from a company named, for example "Steve". It pretty much set's your app up for failure. Would I have to register all kinds of legal crap just to make it say a developer name like, for example " FunTide Apps".5. iphone won't turn on iPhone 4S

During the last 6 day my iPhone 4s ios 6.1.2 has turned off 3 times. This is the third time it has done it I really don't know what is going on with my phone. The first time it shut off was last Wesnday evening I was using it all throughout the day and was wrking fine the I put the phone in my pocket and went to go check if I got notifications and it was completely off. I was unable to to boot it back up. I connected it to iTunes and it said it was in recovery mode and I had to restore it but whe I tried to restore it, it would not restore at all the bar was not loading. So I kept it on the charger overnight and the next morning I turned it on. The following day on Friday it did it again, same thing. but this time when I plugged it to iTunes It was able to recover so I was relieved.  And then today I was using it this morning and it was fine after school was over for me I get my iPhone out my pocket and it was off so I tried to hard reboot it and turn it on but it would not boot. So now I am here and I tried to plug it to the computer to restore it but iTunes is not detecting my iPhone being connected to iTunes.  Can someone help me I am getting mad and frustrated. 

Brand new iPhone 5 replacement to my old iphone 4 battery life sucks earpod volume too low during music

After a series of complaints and refurbished replacements of my iphone 4 for its home button issue, apple agreed upon giving me an iphone 5 - box packed and brand new. I was super excited that apple finally took responsibility and just then i had 2 bad experiences with my iphone 5 in less than 48 hours of use!  1st - the music volume on the ear pods is extremely low even on full volume. Have checked the volume limit, have verified there is no EU limit, have restored the phone as new! 2nd - the battery life *****! Like i said i have restored the phone a new. There have already been 3 updates to ios 6 and its high time this got solved. In less than 2 days i have charged my phone 3 times. I have listened to music on it for less than an hour so far, about 2 hours of calls on 3g, there is no LTE over here, and finally about 3 hours of facebook and whats app in past two days. Offcourse about 5  or so pictures i took to test the camera.  Today i unplugged the phone at about 8 am. Its 3:25 and the battery is dead!!! Can u believe it, they shipped this unit from singapore and i waited for it for nearly 20 days. And in less than 2 days i hate it! I am gonna re calibrate the battery this time and come back here and post what happens.  Till then, can someone tell me how can i make this thing sound the way it should. Vertical Grey lines iPhone 5

I dropped my iPhone from waist height flat onto the back (I have a zoogue case on it), and now grey vertical lines appear down the left side of the screen. I have powered off holding the home/power button, but nothing changed. I can't swipe to unlock it, so I can't type in my password in order to back it up over the cloud/my computer before resetting it. Has this happened to anyone? Suggestions? Home fixes? Or am I helpless?

iPhone 5 not connecting to Windows 7 laptop

IPhone 4S stopped reading S card after 6 months

I have iPhone 4S it has a H2o SIM card that's worked for about 6 months no problem then one day it said SIM card failure I powered phone on/off once and started working again. Two weeks later it took 3-4 times of me cycling power on/off and removing SIM card and reinstalling it in order to get it to work. Then a week later it did same thing but took even longer. Now it won't read at all and I thought it was SIM card so I went and bought a new SIM card but no change, I looked online for help and even tried to put tape on tray/card like someone said but no change(if I even putting the tape in right place. I tried several different ways) Nothing seems to work. My phone was manufactured between 19-25 of March 2012 so hopefully I can get warranty but not original owner so not sure. Does anyone have any idea what can cause this? Why hasn't Apple fixed this problem since its been happening for a long time

Verizon iPhone 5-UNLOCKED

There is an article today indicated that the Associated Press has discovered that the iPhone 5 from Verizon Wireless is unlocked and will work with an AT&T sim on the AT&T Network.  The article did not state if the phone will also work on other networks.  A Verizon spokesperson has verified that indeed their version of the iPhone 5 is unlocked.

Why my storage so low iPhone 3G

Okay, I have a iPhone4 8GB, and a little while ago my storage got full on my phone (no shocker as i had had about 700 pictures, a dozen apps, and about 200-300 songs) so i downloaded my current photos to my computer and deleted them from my phone. That was fine for a while, and then my phone was quickly full again. So this time, I deleted a few apps but it cleared up little space so then I deleted my now 200 pictures. eventually, I was down to 170 pictures, 4 apps, and 150 songs. Still full, i deleted a few albums and songs and i was down to 100 and my storage was still full, so i deleted all but 20 pictures (ones that I need/use on a daily basis) and it's still full. All of my apps are essential to my daily life (no I don't even have any social media apps or games) so I don't want to delete them as they hold storage from eight or more months ago. But i'm going on vacation next weekend and would like room on my phone to take pictures. I don't know what to do as I'm down to my minimum (what I use everyday) in pictures, apps, and music. So, if anyone has a diagnosis to this problem it would be much appreciates (I don't have time to make it to the apple store this week while I have school, work, and get ready to go away)

Awful Battery life on Iphone 5 with iOS 6.1.2

I bought a new Iphone 5 on Monday and the O.S. at the time was 6.0.2. the phone ran warm and battery life was bad, i installed and upgraded to iOS 6.1.2 and the issue still remains, very poor battery life I charged the phone all day and night, left to go to work and school, went from 100% at 8am and down too 48% at 12pm today with some light usage of spotify and one phone call..this is ridiculous don't tell me I have to keep charging my phone MIDDAY to make it last... Seriously apple very disappointed with the battery issue and I don't want to exchange to an android platform at this time but this may force my hand.

iPhone 5 App store Shows Updates 4 but won t show which apps to update

FYI guys. I powered down my phone for a couple hours, then went back to the App Store. It had a fifth update, but this time it allowed me to complete my updates. Dunno if that helps you guys.

As stated, iphone4S is the smartest phone available. I lost my iphone4S recently and the person who took it, immediately powered it off. I signed in icloud and put my phone in stollen mode using Find My Phone utility which is still pending. I got the sim blocked and reported to police. They will deal it in their own way. My question is: are there other methods to trace my phone?

iPhone 5 Taken Apart

My iphone 5 was stolen at school and I found it later in the bathroom. It had been taken apart and some cables were unattached. My screen is no longer cutting on, I don't know what to do because when the phone is taken apart it voids the warranty. Will apple do anything about it?

I have found several threads about the microphone not working right but none like as follows.  When i place or recieve a call on my iphone 4s in typical operation (no bluetooth / speakerphone etc) the other end of the call is treated to a large amount of high pitch noise and whistling sounds.  If I put it on speakerphone everything works correctly, or if i plug in a headset everything works correctly.  I saw a thread about blasting out the noise cancelling mic hole by the headphone jack and i blasted the bejezus out of it using compressed air for several minutes to no avail.  The phone has had no big drops or water damage and is usually chillin in its case.  The other thing i noticed is if i call my desk phone and i tap the top of the phone i can hear the tapping but if i tap the bottom of the phone i dont. So the noise cancelling mic is fucntional. It basically sounds like a screaching horrible sound when have it in normal mode on the other end. I can hear people fine.

How to turn on powered off iPhone without hardware buttons

I'm trying to turn on my iPhone.  It's powered off, and the lock button is broken.  I think it turns itself back on when charged from 0%, but it was at 100% before this occurred, so it would take forever to drain the battery. Is there a way to kick the iPhone into being powered on?
