iphone 5 issues hopefully have an easy solution. advice would be greatly appreciated.
I got the iphone 5 about 6 months ago and have had wifi reception problems the entire time. I spend most of my time in my entertainment room (studio) which is on the opposite end of the house from the router. I have an imac, an apple tv2, an ipad, and (2) iphone 4 all using the same wifi and housed in this same room. They all have no problem picking up the signal and staying connected. My wife and her son both have iphone 4S and never lose connection when they are in my room. It's very frustrating because I was so excited about being able to mirror my phone through the apple tv and hd tv. I own an AT&T iphone 4 and a Verizon iphone 4 that aren't capable of mirroring. I have the original ipad which isn't capable of mirroring. My wife's 4S and her son's 4S are both capable and do it with ease but it's their phones, not mine. So I stayed patient knowing I would get the next upgrade and it was just a matter of time. Wrong. Between 5 phones, a desktop, a tablet, apple tv, PS3......My iphone 5 was the only one that won't connect. I am not talking about it loses the signal or cuts in and out, I am saying you have to walk halfway down the hall to even get it to detect the signal in the first place. Not a chance in **** of it actually staying connected to it. I talked to Apple Support about the problem and asked if the iphone 5 had a weaker antenna or if there was a setting that needed to be adjusted. They were polite to me but in so many words let me know that my assessment was ridiculous and news to them. Well okay, no big deal, I just chalked it up as that maybe I got a dud this time as far as the antenna goes. Then, about a week ago, I dropped the phone and shattered the front glass and lcd. Luckily I had insurance and was able to get a brand new replacement. The problem is the antenna reception is exactly the same. So this was not an isolated incident and I wasn't crazy for asking about it. I don't see how they haven't received tons of complaints about this issue. I love Apple products and probably just expect perfection because I have never had any major problems with any of my Apple devices. But it is an unpleasant surprise that the newer model takes several steps back on such an important feature. Sorry for the rant and I remain positive that this issue can be addressed, if it hasn't already. P.S.....The iphone 5 that I got two days ago has an awesome new feature. If you are using the phone for an actual phone call, the person you are talking to can't be heard whatsoever. If you can get them to talk really loudly and repeat themselves at least three times, you will have a greater chance of comprehending the purpose of the call.

Whenever I try to sync my iPhone 4S, iOS 6.1.3, to my new Asus computer with Windows 8, I get a message saying "iTunes cannot read the contents of this iPhone. Go to the Summary tab and restore." So I go to Summary and hit restore, and it doesn't seem do anything, other than want to download new iPhone software, which always takes about 4 hours, and I inevitably end up with some sort of error that prevents it from loading. I've removed and reinstalled iTunes, and restarted my phone, but it doesn't seem to work. I would like to be able to sync to my computer, but it doesn't seem to work. Before I was on an Asus computer with Windows 7 and it worked fine, and now I can't get it to work at all. I have the same Internet security provider as before, so I don't think that's it. Can anyone figure out what I should do? Thanks

4S-No sound from speaker no mic no vibration doesn't detect headphones iPhone 4
Hello, I just replaced my 4S's display, and after reassembly the iPhone powered on as normal, but - there is no sound, mic or vibration what so ever. It doesn't detect a headphone jack either. The mute button and volume buttons work just fine, volume control shows up but there is no vibrate or sound at all. So this basically makes it useless as a phone ... Anyone know what could be causing the issue? I tightened the screws, tried reconnecting the cables and the speakers. Hoping this is not an issue with the audio IC. Definately not software related, tried full DFU restore, tried cleaning the dock connector and jack, the iPhone is NOT stuck in dock connector mode. TL;DR: No sound from any speaker, no vibrate what so ever, no mic, doesn't detect headphone jack. Anyone know what's wrong? Could it be a damaged Audio IC (don't really see how this can happen)? Broken flex cable?
iPhone won't Charge iPhone 5
Okay so i had problems with my iPhone earlier. It would power off randomly when I was or wasnt using it. And i also charged it when I had 30% but on the top right corner for the battery icon, where its suppose to show ' charging ' it showed Fully charged. and after it died, I plugged it back in with it saying its charging. The symbol with a low red battery with a charging sign. It stayed on that symbol for more than 12 hours and never turned on to the lock screen. And if i take it out of charge, it completely shuts off.But when i plug it back in , it has the apple symbol from when you turn it back on after you powered it off. It did that symbol repeatedly. Please help. The problem: Won't charge or turn on to lock screen Is there anyway I can do it besides taking it to Apple? Thanks (: I don't think I backed up anything, but I maybe did and I have lots of things on my phone. So is there any other solutions that I can use besides restoring it?

Can t see Cellular Data Network menu iPhone
Hello, I recently bought a brand new unlocked iPhone 5 (iOS 6.1.4 10B350) in person at a Mac store. I have set up the phone & data service with AirVoice Wireless (an MVNO that uses the AT&T network). AV does not guarantee that MMS will work for iPhones on their service. That is fine -- I knew that going into this. However, when I tried to set up MMS anyway following AV's instructions, I couldn't do it because I cannot see the "Cellular Data Network" menu option under Settings-->general-->Cellular. The person at AV I spoke with said that I couldn't see the CDN option because my phone wasn't unlocked, which is difficult to believe seeing as I specifically bought an unlocked phone. So, why can't I see the CDN option if my phone is unlocked? And how can I gain access to it? Any help/advice would be much appreciated. Sincerely,Mike (an iPhone newbie)

On May 1, 2013 I received from my husband as a gift, an iPhone 5 16GB White (Model A1429) after his return from a trip to the African continent. I used the Iphone 5 for only 15 days, while the rear camera crashed. In an attempt to solve, restored the software and not solved. Then took the Iphone 5 Apple technical assistance in Recife / PE, called iTown where it was found that it was a hardware problem and Iphone 5 should be replaced. However when checking the model of Iphone 5 assistant coach said the serial number on my Iphone 5 (F1HK3LNGDTWF) was not authorized by Apple for replacement and that I should contact the Apple 0800. I made contact and technical support agent (# 451 886 701), Samir, informed me that the model of my iPhone 5 (A1429) is not warranted in Brazil and should submit to Apple in the country where it was purchased. Tell it had received a gift from my husband and had been acquired in a electronics store in Johannesburg international airport, not having expected to return to the country in the coming years. Requested that the equipment be sent through Apple Brazil, to the place where it was possible to repair or replace the Apple Iphone 5 Brazil defective by a new, but Samir informed me that he could not do anything for me and that very sorry. Well, I understand that Apple is a company present in several countries and that your warranty is worldwide. Still hopeful, I sent an email to Apple Feedback reporting the incident, but so far have not received any feedback. I'm very disappointed with Apple for this embarrassment and injury. The Iphone 5 cost USD 1,100.00 and in less than 15 days the camera stopped working.I await a return to Apple with the solution for the inconvenience caused.Sincerely,

Wifi grey dimmed out and wont turn on iPhone 4S
My iPhone 4s' wifi is grey and dimmed out and wont turn back on which is very frustrating, I've tried all the troubleshooting techniques such as full restore and nothing. My phone was sent away for repair with my bank using phone insurance and the problem was fixed but after a week it had gone dim again. Can anyone suggest the next step or quote how much apple will charge to repair? cheers

Iphone 5 water damage
Hello all. Quick question about Apple's warranty. Due to a major screw up on my part, my iphone 5 with through a wash cycle. Once I removed the phone from the washer, I immediately placed the phone in a bag of rice. Within 12 hours, the phone was in the hand's of an iphone repair tech. The phone is now being cleaned ultrasonically, however, according to the tech some corrosion was all ready starting. Back to my post, the phone is 5 months old and no insurance. Do I have any options under Apple's warranty if the cleaning doesn't work? Any input would be helpful, thanks.

Depending on what Operating system your computer runs you should follow on of the articles below to troubleshoot the issue with your phone not being recognised in itunes. If all issues remains then you should try a back up to icloud. Springboard Problem and Cannot Save SMS messages iPhone 5
My wife took her phone to the Apple store for a bad speaker and short battery life. They replaced the speaker and ran diagnostics and determined that Springboard was bad. They can reflash the phone, and she can restore content from the cloud, but will lose all her stored SMS messages. She can do a full backup to our computer, but Apple said if she restores from that, the problem will return to Springboard. This was incredulous to me that Apple would mix data with programs and have this issue. Another appointment at the Genius bar and I went with her. Same story from Apple. They even gave me an analogy that if you car has a problem caused by bad oil and you drain the oil and fix the problem, and then put the old oil back in, the problem returns. I thought a more apt analogy is having to remove the radiator to fix your air conditioner, and putting the antifreeze back in the radiator after reaasembly. It will NOT break the A/C again. I found some third party applications that may do what is needed for $20-$70. The Apple store had their canned spiel on third party applications. Has anyone else experienced this problem and is there a workaround? And is it believable that the world's largest technology company still writes their software this way?

iPhone 5 won t turn on
So i dropped my phone.. oops. I connected it to the charger because it said it was dead, when i connected it to the charger, the apple logo screen came on.So I had to put my phone in restore mode because I couldn't get past that screen.It finally connected to iTunes but right when it the bar fills for 'Preparing for restore.." my phone unconnects from the computer and dies again. Hi, I'm currently our of the USA. My phone was recently stolen. I use Sprint and called them to block and filed a claim (I was paying insurance)That's all done and I'm expecting another phone. Battery Drain issue while recording video Iphone 5
Iphone 5 that I've had for less than a year seems to have horrible battery life. I'm mainly on wifi all day long with very strong signal. Most of my 8-10 hr day is occassionally checking my hotmail or exchange email. My Time since last charge currently at 43%: usage is 3hrs and 34 minutes, and standby time of 9 hours and 35 minutes. The strangest issue I'm having is when I record video. I'll usually record 2-3GB worth of video (over 8-10 videos) in a day depending on what I'm uploading to youtube. I'll record a bunch of video, and look at the battery life. It will drop down to 2-3% after recording, and sometimes even shut the phone all the way off. Press the power button and it blinks at you to plug it in. I'll go plug it in, and when it powers back on, it will be anywhere from 20-50% power (1 minute after plugging it in). Yesterday it was down to 3%, so I powered it off, then back on again, and it jumped back up to 54% I've done a wipe and reset to factory and restore from iCloud and that doesn't seem to have done much. I've drained the battery all the way dead, and let it recharge fully mulitple times, no help their either. I'm using the factory Iphone charging cable and wall charger. Has anyone seen this before? Do I have a faulty battery? I've recorded hundreds of videos with my iphone 4 and never had issues with excessive drain while recording, and the same on my wife's 4S..Thanks

I do not know if this is the right area, but I will try. I went camping, got a canoe with my friend, took my phone with because it is my life, including my camera. And who doesn't want pictures of a gorgeous river/rock wall/ nature/wildlife! Anyway. We hit a rock and the canoe tipped. And there goes my phone. It was in a plastic bag, but the plastic bag was promptly filled with water. I am wondering if anyone knows if my insurance covers this damage, and if I can get a new phone at a discounted price. Hi, I tried to update 3 apps on iPhone 5 about a week ago. They got 'stuck' while updating, and now are permanently frozen showing a greyed out icon, and saying the status as 'installing.' I have tried everything and need more suggestions.This is what I have tried:Restoring - no changeLogging off iTunes account, pressing home and lock button til apple icon appears, then logging back in - this changes the status to 'waiting' but it's still frozenHolding down icon to delete - it doesn't have cross above these 3 affected appsGone into -> general -> Usage -> then selected each affected app and Deleted them - no changePlugged into PC and synced, then tried removing apps and installing again - the icons aren't removed when I remove, but when I install them again, it does kickstart the icon to change to 'loading', but then it returns to 'installing' and is still frozenAdding a new app/ installing updates for other apps to check to see if iTunes account works - yes they added/ updated fineCalling Apple tech support. The guy was really nice and helpful, but his advice didn't work (as above.) He told me to contact the iTunes account support, and ask them to delete the apps from my purchase history and then try re-installing themContacting the ITunes account support - they emailed me back, and advised me that they checked my download queue and "updates of these three apps are not there." (?) So they gave me the advice to do as above. He also sent me to this link: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1702 which at the last step says "If you continue to experience the issue, contact the developer of the application for further assistance." Now, my issue is: How the heck do I contact the developer, and will this help, when it seems to clearly be an iPhone problem? Should I give up and take the phone into an Apple store? My iphone was completely submerged in water last night. I put it in rice. Everything seems to work properly. But there is what appears to be water under the iphone screen.
