iPhone GPS programmed to stick to nearby roads iPhone 4S

I have been using this app called +3 to record my rides. Since about iOS 5, i noticed the GPS on the phone started to try to stick to roads when I was going offroad. When I get more than 300 feet away from the road, the GPS suddenly corrects its position and starts to show correctly where I am. When I ride parallel to the road about 200 feet away, the GSP shows me right on the road for the whole time. It seems to me that whoever introduced this "feature" decided to not trust the GPS and let the software decide where I am instead. It seems quite irritating to me as I can't quite tell my route once recorded inaccurately. I have observed the behavior with both my iPhone 4s and 5 with no difference. Has someone else experienced this with their phone?

iPhone 4 battery drain when powered off

Lately I've been turning off my phone and when I turn it back on battery is drained. Yesterday I turned it off at 80% and when I turned it back on 3 hours later it was at 62%. Then today I turned it off at 50% and when I turned it back on it was at 32%! Does anyone know why my iPhone is losing battery even when it's completely powered off? I feel like it shouldn't be losing any battery at all

iPhone 5 Frequently Crashes to Apple Logo and Screen Lock

I have an iPhone 5 64 GB running iOS 6.1.4 on AT&T. Over the past ~ three days, have noted that the iPhone randomly "crashes".  Could be when I am using an app.  Could be when I am making a phone call.  Could be when it is simply connected to the power cord and haven't touched it at all. The cycle is as follows: Screen suddenly goes blankThe white Apple logo (which typicaly appears during boot-up) appears for 3 - 5 secondsI hear the "chirp" that normally sounds at the end of boot-upThe iPhone lock lock screen then appears Sometimes, when the phone emerges from lock screen, the brightness is about half of what it was prior. I have not been able to isolate this behavior to a specific set of circumstances.  When it occurs during a phone call, the call is interrupted / other party is silenced, but if I swipe at lock screen, the call resumes (the other party notes that I went silent during duration). I have re-started / re-booted the iPhone 15 times.  I have cleared all apps from the cache.  I have disabled all notifications and location services.  I have done a Reset All Settings on iPhone and restored from iCloud.  I have done a Restore from iTunes.  The problem continues. I would say that this crash cycle occurs about every 30 - 60 minutes.  As noted, many times when I'm not even touching / using the iPhone. Have also noted that when not connected to power supply, the iPhone is quite warm, and battery drain is at an accelerated rate of 3x to 4x of "normal", worse than prior iOS 6 related battery issues.  Have also tried all the usual battery saving tricks - wifi is off, GPS is off, EQ is off, etc. Any thoughts before I head to the Genius Bar? Thanks! TCF

All of a sudden I lost my wifi signal....Checked out the settings and the WiFi is off and unable to turn it back on....i have powered down the phone...i have done a full restore and the wifi switched remains greyed out....any suggestions?

Battery life-iphone 4

Well I tried turning off the Bluetooth, turning off WIFI, turning off location services, and all Push activity.  After all of this my battery lasts about 8 hours.  I guess I could keep the phone powered off but I think that kind of defeats the purpose of owning the phone. Any studies on the lifespan of an iPhone 4 battery?  My applecare warranty runs out in a few months.

My mom passed me her phone as she couldn't get it to restart.  I got it to charge and restart in recovery mode.  However, I've tried all steps on this and many other forums and it is stuck in "trying to restore".  On the phone, it will blink a white screen, show the apple logo and a progress bar then quickly disappear then on the computer give me error code 9.  I have tried 3 different cords, on both my MacBook Air and my iMac.  Same results on both computers.  She purchased a new phone as she couldn't do without, but would love to fix this phone and give to one of my children.  This phone has not been jailbroken.  Any help would be sooooo appreciated!  Not sure what will happen if I try to take this to Apple.

Iphone 5 no longer connecting to bluetooth in car

My Iphone 5 has been connected succesfully via bluetooth to my car for the past 5 months (Ford Fiesta).  Yesterday I went to use it and it wont connect, I powered off the phone, turned bluetooth on/off still not working. I debonded all phones from the car and went to start afresh but that wont work either. When it is searching for devices it just seems to be stuck?  I tried another Iphone 5 in my car and that connected no problems at all. Anyone have any ideas, it clearly must be the phone but wonder what on earth I have done.

Pls have this to pay attention for. If this is a hardware problem, what must be done to repair it? If that's a bug, when shall A.guys have a fix for that.BTW, may that be a problem actually linked to Bluetooth connectivity in the first turn? Bluetooth connectivity option is constantly "trying to determine it's state" (BT option setting shows "busy" running circle instead of on/off state), and after it finally gets to off state there appears to happen some change to wifi option behavior. Once it had even started back for an hour, but fell back to disabled soon afterwards.At least both these problems appeared together at the same time.All possible resets, firmware restores and 6.0.1 did not fix that. Shall I need to jailbreak the OS to fix it? And btw, the whole situation already ran a lot of people into high spendings for their 2g/3G overwhelming cellular data traffic. Apple to apologize for that at least? Or shall there be iPhone 6 and the problem would remain unfixed and unnoticed?

it possible to sync My Stations of Podcasts application across devices iPhone 3G

The devices in question are an iPhone 5 and a 3rd generation iPad, both run the latest iOS bits available and I am signed in with my Apple Id on both devices.  The behavior I'd like to experience is:the settings (Stations and Podcasts within Stations and particular Podcast settings) set on one device just show up on the other device.both devices show the exact same played, partly-played and unplayed podcasts in their stations. Isn't this the way things should "just work" in the Apple world?  The reason for asking is that my two devices do not seem to talk to each other and cannot locate a way to get them to synchronize. Thank you,  eugen

My iPhone 4s is not charging.  Last few days it was eating up the battery life quicker than usual.  Tried doing all the power up deals, turning off then on, even a restore.  It is now completely powered off and not turning on even when plugged in.  I'm out of ideas.  A little help please!Thanks

We have been having trouble with our iPhone 4. It will just die. I researched the web and was able to find the information to restart it by pushing both buttons. This resets it, but does not last. I did a complete reset on the phone then updated it, but it continues to turn off and has to be restarted. It is out of warranty, any help would be great.

I just started to get a SIM Failure Pop up on my iphone 5on Thursday while traveling and using Maps fornavigation. I cannot seem to remove or repair this error.I have gone to yoru support page and followedinstructions on how to reset network.I first tried to send a text and failure came up. Vertical Grey lines iPhone 5

I dropped my iPhone from waist height flat onto the back (I have a zoogue case on it), and now grey vertical lines appear down the left side of the screen. I have powered off holding the home/power button, but nothing changed. I can't swipe to unlock it, so I can't type in my password in order to back it up over the cloud/my computer before resetting it. Has this happened to anyone? Suggestions? Home fixes? Or am I helpless?

IPhone 4S stopped reading S card after 6 months

I have iPhone 4S it has a H2o SIM card that's worked for about 6 months no problem then one day it said SIM card failure I powered phone on/off once and started working again. Two weeks later it took 3-4 times of me cycling power on/off and removing SIM card and reinstalling it in order to get it to work. Then a week later it did same thing but took even longer. Now it won't read at all and I thought it was SIM card so I went and bought a new SIM card but no change, I looked online for help and even tried to put tape on tray/card like someone said but no change(if I even putting the tape in right place. I tried several different ways) Nothing seems to work. My phone was manufactured between 19-25 of March 2012 so hopefully I can get warranty but not original owner so not sure. Does anyone have any idea what can cause this? Why hasn't Apple fixed this problem since its been happening for a long time

Verizon iPhone 5-UNLOCKED

There is an article today indicated that the Associated Press has discovered that the iPhone 5 from Verizon Wireless is unlocked and will work with an AT&T sim on the AT&T Network.  The article did not state if the phone will also work on other networks.  A Verizon spokesperson has verified that indeed their version of the iPhone 5 is unlocked.

FYI guys. I powered down my phone for a couple hours, then went back to the App Store. It had a fifth update, but this time it allowed me to complete my updates. Dunno if that helps you guys.

Why would Siri open and close randomly iPhone 5

My iPhone 5 displays the oddest and most erratic behavior and I cannot figure out why!  Hopefully someone here can head me in the right direction! A few times a week, Siri will pop up with her "What can I help you with" window.  I'll close it and it will reopen again.  Sometimes it even causes other apps to open.  Open and close.  Over and over.  It happens randomly or at least I cannot see the common denominator anyway.   I use a bumper with my phone but it does not cover or even touch the screen button.    Any ideas? Thanks for the help! Peter

As stated, iphone4S is the smartest phone available. I lost my iphone4S recently and the person who took it, immediately powered it off. I signed in icloud and put my phone in stollen mode using Find My Phone utility which is still pending. I got the sim blocked and reported to police. They will deal it in their own way. My question is: are there other methods to trace my phone?

How to turn on powered off iPhone without hardware buttons

I'm trying to turn on my iPhone.  It's powered off, and the lock button is broken.  I think it turns itself back on when charged from 0%, but it was at 100% before this occurred, so it would take forever to drain the battery. Is there a way to kick the iPhone into being powered on?

Unable to connect to wireless Network Iphone 5

I just bought the Iphone 5 two days ago. I am having a lot of issues connecting to every other network but my own network at home At home I am using a N900 Cisco Router. The security settings on it are WPA2, My verizon carrier update is version 13.3 and I have updated to IO6.0.2. I have reset the phone to factory defualts, I have reset the network, I have powered off the phone and done everything I could to get them to work on this network.   Personal. Now I have been to my girlfriends parents and many other places that are public and even after double checking the password. the Iphone 5  From Trouble shooting: I have noticed that the Iphone 5 doesn't seem to like many security options on the routers. Even on my new router I tried several different security options and it seemed to like WPA2 the best. Othrwise I was getting major issues. The iphone would connect sometimes only to be slow and not connect. The wifi signal would keep being scanned and would go out and come back in. The signal strength also qould keep fluctuation even when near the router. My brothers same andriod device was doing the same thing. My brothers Iphone 5 was doing the same thing when using the different networks.  Apple there is a major problem here that needs to be addressed when refering to wifi. Considering most carriers now charge for data it is important that if I have access to all the wifi networks I can connect too. This is a major issue that needs to be resolved and looking at the forums it is not an isolated incident.  Recomendations: People who call in with this issue, need to have phones replaced if not able to patch, Since no patch exists at the moment, it would be prudent to offer people who are having trouble a credit towards their wireless bill by working with cell providers and to have apple issue a version of an RMA number. Until the issue is resolved. I have 17 days to return my phone to verizon and I am going to wait to hear back. My girlfriend is in the market for a new phone and we can't have issues with a wifi connection especially when charges are going to ensue if we go over our data. Plus the unavailability of a network in areas my cell provider is not able to help with is important. We as apple users need immediate attention to this matter and it is not a matter of how the phone scans for networks. It is an issue with connectivity and how it is communicating with certain encryptions with the routers. Fix need asap.  This issue is also not localized to the Iphone 5 as it is happening on the Ipad 4

iPhone 5 S card modification

As I continue down the path of Appleization of my life (currently 2 macs, ipad, ipod touch and bunches of apps, books, movies and TV) it has become time for me to consider getting an iPhone.  My issue is related to the fact that I no longer allow myself to be exploited with "subsidized" phones from the service carriers but rather pay cash for every device and use a discount service.  My current provider costs me $45 with unlimited everything (except upgradable capped hi speed data that gets throttled over the limit).  Never a horrible surprise in my phone bill again!  I can add an additional line for just $10! So I want to add my iPhone as a second phone line.  The problem is my discount carrier only offers the mainstream sized SIM card.  I have read online that I can customize a regular sized SIM to mini and micro.  Can anyone verify if this is possible?  If its possible I will do it.  I'm even willing to go through a few SIM cards in the attempt ($25 a piece) if i'm sure success is reasonably possible. Would love to hear any bodies thoughts on this especially would love to hear if anyone has actually tried it. Thanks and kindest regards!

Intermittent lockup when powered iPhone 5

My IP5 intermittently locks up (frozen screen) when the charger cord is plugged in and the battery is charged to 100%.  At least, that's the only time I've noticed it.  As soon as I remove the charger cord, it works normally again.  Anyone else have this problem?  I'm wondering if this is a bug that Apple will have to address?

Iphone 5 hacked-about 30 emails sent out to what looks to be phishing website-TELUS customer

Woke up to find out my iphone had sent out about 30 emails to contacts (not my full contact list - guessing maybe the last 30 contacts that have been either received/sent via email).  The web site isn't one I ever remember accessing (which in iteself is weird).  http://dcrconsultores.com.br/pbolqlx.pho This is a fairly new phone acquired from my provider TELUS sent directly from TELUS during the inital shipment of iphone 5's last year. I am on the latest IOS 6.0.2....model MD295C....... Any suggestions on how to fix the problem Yes I have a window's PC.....but it was powered off last night when the emails went out from my iphone....also when I checked this morning there were no outgoing emails in Outllook....... 

iphone 5 6.0.2 suddenly can't end calls

Just today this started: Initiated a call or received a call, removed from face, see screen, tap "end call" button 1 time, nothing happens. Button doesn't even register a tap.Tap button again, button registers tap, goes to black screen.  After a beat or so, screen comes back.  Call did NOT end.  End call button does not end the call, ever. Sometimes, tapping the 'end call' button will make the screen go black and it won't come back.  Call is still going.  Have to tap the home button to get the screen to come back. Reproduced in low light (thought it was the sensor) and full sunlight. (same behavior) Tapping the speaker icon, setting the phone to speaker phone THEN hitting 'end call' makes it work as usual.  So it's not that the touch screen doesn't work.   I've reset the phone many times. I've turned off alarms and push. Suggestions? Thank you!

My iphone was stolen however its still saved as one of my devices on icloud but its name has changed. Can apple find it

I left my iphone sitting on the dashboard of a taxi and forgot to lift it. As soon as I got out of the taxi, I remembered so I rang the taxi company to get it for me. I also rang the phone and it was turned off, which is strange as two minutes earlier it was on and it had a 80% battery life so I knew something was strange. Suprise suprise the taxi company never found it. I went on to icloud and put the phone (the device was called jacks iphone) in lost mode and tried to track it but it was offline so I could never find it. Now several weeks down the line I went back on to icloud and this mysterious device TonkhawiPhone7_ was in my list of devices. Its an iphone 4 as well. So could this be my iphone and the person who now has it has changed the name of the device? It doesn't appear to allow me to put it in lost mode for some reason. Can apple help me get my iphone back?  Thanks for reading

Since I've updated to 6.0.2 my gps appears to be active all of the time, even whenI don't have location oriented apps running. This is a marked change in behavior from previous iOS releases. Anybody know what's up?

Music app not function correctly iPhone 3G

The current iOS version is 6.0.2 (10A551) on my new iPhone 5, with firmware version 1.01.00.  The built in Music app is not functioning correctly.  When I select and try to play an audio file, the selected track will show for 2 seconds and jump directly to the next track then it would come back to the playlist.  No music is played, and I can't do anything to change this behavior.  Any help??  Thanks...

Bricked iPhone 5 error code-1 My Story

Around 5am this morning I picked up my phone to look at the time and noticed that it said 'searching.....'  where my carrier name should be, normally I get great signal in my home.  I didn't think much of it and went back to sleep.  When I woke up two hours later it still said 'searching' so I toggled airplane mode with no change.  I then powered the phone off with no change, next I did a hard reset by holding the power button and home button till it shut down.  Same result.  'searching.......' forever.  I then plugged my iPhone into my computer and loaded up itunes, it correctly identified my phone then asked me to backup and update it to 6.0.2 firmware.  Thinking that this may clear whatever bug may be affecting the 3g radio I accepted and started the process.  The phone backed up without issue (thank goodness) but then as it was about to complete the firmware update it threw a -1 error back.  Multiple re-attempts at restoring did not work.  The iPhone now just displays the 'connect to itunes'  screen.  A few minutes of searching revealed that it was most likely a hardware issue.  This phone has been babied, kept in a simple, low profile case, never dropped, no moisture whatsoever has touched it.  It really ***** that this would happen out of the blue like this.  Apple is taking care of me though, with no Apple retail shop anywhere close to me, they offered to cross-ship a new phone to me. I don't mind the hold on my credit card.  Should be here just after christmas.

Need help pairing Jawbone Prime with iPhone 5

I've reset my Jawbone Prime. It goes into auto pairing mode. iPhone 5 sees "jawbone" but won't pair. Any advice? I've already tried the following protocols from online support communities. Thanks for your help, Janet  To reset your Jawbone Prime simply follow the steps listed below: 1. Press and hold down the Talk Button on the Jawbone Prime. (It does not matter whether the Prime is on or off.) 2. Connect the Jawbone Prime to the USB charger cable. (The cable needs to be plugged into an active USB port or to an electrical outlet via the Wall Charger unit.) 3. Release the Talk Button. 4. Disconnect the Jawbone Prime from the USB charger cable. Hello Developers, I have a big problem. I have bought an Iphone 4G from a girlfirend of mine. She said that the Iphone has to be send to the AppleService, because she could not turn it on. I tried to restore it via iTunes but with no success. At the middle (the end) it comes a notify (An unkown issue occurd. Iphone could not....ERROR -1. "Latest iTunes.C:WindowsSystem32driversetchost  - checked---Tried several times, also on other pc'sWin7USB-Cable works..."Brand" T-Mobile (Austria) So i came to the mind to make a cfw without Basebandupdate....; It worked but with no service; bluetooth and wifi are greyed. .Please help... "She said that it happend when she updated it from iOS 4.0.1 to iOS 6.0.1 ...I just want to use the Iphone..Please help... IShe also noticed that the Iphone 4 worked for three days with the iOS 6 . New iPhone 5 will not connect to WiFi

I finally upgraded to a iPhone 5 from my old 3G and I cannot get it to connect ot my home WiFi.  It can see the WiFi and I have WEP encription on the network using a Netgear WGT624v3 wireless router and 128bit encryption and when I enter the password, the iPhone gives me an "incorrect Password" warning.  I have tried several times to enter it and even texted it to the phone and copied and pasted it to avoid any typos to no avail.  I have powered down the router, removed the encryption, tried another encryption key, rebooted the iPhone but cannot get it to connect.  This is a router with a 802.11 g and b protocol working on channel 11 and I have not had issue with our iPad 2, my wife's iPhone 3GS, my old iPhone 3G or our Macbook Pro.  I also tried to enter the network manually and it just does not want to accept the password whether it needs one or not.  What am I not doing correctly?  I say that there were some issues when people upgraded from an earlier operating system to the current one but this is a new phone as of yesterday??

iPhone 5 bad voice quality

Since I have the new iPhone 5 I notice a bad calling voice quality. Especially at home were I had before never problems with my iPhone 3. The person on the other side understands my fine only I cannot understand the calling person. At the conversation parts are missing, that I even not understand what the other person means. Carrier is O2 in Germany, I already order a new SIM Card on the advice of the Apple Support, where I already open up a case.  What I am concerned about and is Apple already working on this, is that I already found a lot of forum article, about this issue and all didn’t had any solution, even after change the SIM card and replacement iPhone from Apple the bad calling voice quality stayed.

My IPhone 4S seems to have malfunction.

      I have to double click my buttons before it accepts my inputs (i.e. passcode numbers).  Just started today.  Have powered it down severla times.  The screen seems to be locked also, will not let me navagate up or down with finger.  Help!

WiFi not working on iPhone 4S iOS 6 and 6.0.1

Having problems connecting to WiFi router at both home, work, and at public hotspots.  I have the iPad from April 2012 which is also on iOS 6 and has no problems connecting. I cannot see nor connect to WiFi routers anywhere.  If I turn my phone off at night, and turn it on in the morning, it works for around 30 minutes before the WiFi is lost. I can also put my phone in a ziploc bag and put it in the freezer for a few minutes (10 minutes or so) and it will work for about 30 minutes also. My guess is that the heat sensor or whatever type of sensor saves the iPhone from any type of thermal damage is malfunctioning following iOS 6.  I'm wondering if the thermal disabling limit was programmed in Fahrenheit instead of Celsius, and maybe that's the mix-up. Prior to the iOS 6 upgrade, everything was fine with my phone, and I could connect to routers all over.   As I'm able to connect with my wife's iPhone 4S to the same access points I can't even "see" on my iPhone, I believe it's a software issue.  She's still running iOS 5.1.1 because I won't let her upgrade. Thoughts or advice? I do NOT want to return this to Apple to get a refurbished device in exchange for my new device. I truly believe this is a software based issue. If there was a way to go back to iOS 5.1.1 on my iPhone 4S I'd love to hear it. Thanks. (iPhone 4S, Black, 16GB, CDMA, powered by Sprint....  iPad April 2012, Black, 16GB, WiFi)

screen auto locks while using wiredbluetooth headset iPhone

I take a great number of conf calls and use either a wired headset or bluetooth headset.  On my iphone 4s and ios5 the screen would not lock while talking - so I could easily mute and unmute the phone.  Now on ios6 and iphone5 the phone locks and it takes a few seconds to get to be able to un-mute or do anything on the phone. Is there a method to stop this behavior?  I want the old normal back.

Upgrade to iOS6-Bluetooth now Flaky iPhone 4S

I have had the iPhone4s working forever with 2 different Cadillacs (2010 and then a new 2013) only to find once I upgraded to the latest iOS6 on the iPhone 4s the Bluetooth hands free for phone changed its behavior for the worst. Symptoms: Once the Phone is "paired" it works- someone can call me and I can answer it with the handsfree system in the Escalade. When making outbound calls is when it goes one of two ways listed below.      1. Phone dials and connects however the Audio "source" is the Handset in which case I have to click the Audio Source button on the handdset and select my Car handsfree for the call, which it then switches instantly to the car and everything proceeds fine. (The phone for some reason switches from the overhead audio source to handset by default)      2. Phone dials and connects and works perfectly over the Handsfree system  The phone ALWAYS connects as it should- it ALWAYS works flawlessly on incoming phone calls- its ONLY when I dial a call it goes to either the handset OR the Overhead system. There is NO pattern for the behavoir, it could work perfect for 3 straight calls then the 4 call it prefers the Handset. Or it could go to the handset on the FIRST call. I am on the phone constantly so this bug is very annoying. When I dial someone I have to wait to see if its going to randomly select the overhead sound system or the handset. This was not a problem in this vehicle when I was running IOS5- it literally started when I upgraded the Iphone 4s to IOS6. I figured (hoped) that when the iPhone5 arrived it would make the problem go away however its the exact same behavoir. Has anyone else experienced this awesomeness? (I have already deleted and re-paired it a few times to no avail)   Frank
