When a call or text is coming throug there is no sound. The settings seem fine. When I switch the side button to red nothing happens. What used to happen would be the bell sign would come up with a line through it indicating the ringer was switched off but now nothing happens whichever way I switch it. Vibrate is switched on in settings but it isn't vibrating either. Interestingly the alarm is working so the sounds are not completely gone. I have powered it off an back on etc., but it hasn't made any difference. Any advice. Thanks Paula
i recently dropped my iphone4s,screen didnt smash or marked but wouldn't light up,made all the right sounds.took it to be repaired at local mobile shop and they sent it away to have new lcd and digitizer replaced. I got it marked and noticed home button had dropped then 5/6 days later 3 black marks/spots appeared on the bottom right hand side of screen??? returned to shop and engineer is refusing to repair as saying i damaged phone......I havent done anything apart from use it as it should be.can anyone shed some light as to why this is happening? many thanks
Lately I've been turning off my phone and when I turn it back on battery is drained. Yesterday I turned it off at 80% and when I turned it back on 3 hours later it was at 62%. Then today I turned it off at 50% and when I turned it back on it was at 32%! Does anyone know why my iPhone is losing battery even when it's completely powered off? I feel like it shouldn't be losing any battery at all
All of a sudden I lost my wifi signal....Checked out the settings and the WiFi is off and unable to turn it back on....i have powered down the phone...i have done a full restore and the wifi switched remains greyed out....any suggestions?
Well I tried turning off the Bluetooth, turning off WIFI, turning off location services, and all Push activity. After all of this my battery lasts about 8 hours. I guess I could keep the phone powered off but I think that kind of defeats the purpose of owning the phone. Any studies on the lifespan of an iPhone 4 battery? My applecare warranty runs out in a few months.
My mom passed me her phone as she couldn't get it to restart. I got it to charge and restart in recovery mode. However, I've tried all steps on this and many other forums and it is stuck in "trying to restore". On the phone, it will blink a white screen, show the apple logo and a progress bar then quickly disappear then on the computer give me error code 9. I have tried 3 different cords, on both my MacBook Air and my iMac. Same results on both computers. She purchased a new phone as she couldn't do without, but would love to fix this phone and give to one of my children. This phone has not been jailbroken. Any help would be sooooo appreciated! Not sure what will happen if I try to take this to Apple.
My Iphone 5 has been connected succesfully via bluetooth to my car for the past 5 months (Ford Fiesta). Yesterday I went to use it and it wont connect, I powered off the phone, turned bluetooth on/off still not working. I debonded all phones from the car and went to start afresh but that wont work either. When it is searching for devices it just seems to be stuck? I tried another Iphone 5 in my car and that connected no problems at all. Anyone have any ideas, it clearly must be the phone but wonder what on earth I have done.
You're not addressing Apple here, just iPhone users, please don't provide your personal data like serial/imei numbers Have you tried this article? http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3424

My iPhone 4s is not charging. Last few days it was eating up the battery life quicker than usual. Tried doing all the power up deals, turning off then on, even a restore. It is now completely powered off and not turning on even when plugged in. I'm out of ideas. A little help please! Thanks
We have been having trouble with our iPhone 4. It will just die. I researched the web and was able to find the information to restart it by pushing both buttons. This resets it, but does not last. I did a complete reset on the phone then updated it, but it continues to turn off and has to be restarted. It is out of warranty, any help would be great.
We found that your app uses one or more non-public APIs, which is not in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines. The use of non-public APIs is not permissible because it can lead to a poor user experience should these APIs change. We found the following non-public API/s in your app:_terminateWithStatus:If you have defined methods in your source code with the same names as the above-mentioned APIs, we suggest altering your method names so that they no longer collide with Apple's private APIs to avoid your application being flagged in future submissions.Additionally, one or more of the above-mentioned APIs may reside in a static library included with your application. If you do not have access to the library's source, you may be able to search the compiled binary using "strings" or "otool" command line tools. The "strings" tool can output a list of the methods that the library calls and "otool -ov" will output the Objective-C class structures and their defined methods. These techniques can help you narrow down where the problematic code resides. We appreciate that you may have made the precautions in your code for using non-public APIs, however, there is no way to accurately or completely predict how an API may be modified and what effects those modifications may have. For this reason, we do not permit the use of non-public APIs in App Store apps.If there are no alternatives for providing the functionality your app requires, we encourage you to file anenhancement request. Or, try working with the Apple Developer Technical Support team to explore alternative solutions. On occasion, there may be apps on the App Store that don't appear to be in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines. We work hard to ensure that the apps on the App Store are in compliance and we try to identify any apps currently on the App Store that may not be. It takes time to identify these occurrences but another app being out of compliance is not a reason for your app to be.For discrete code-level questions, you may wish to consult with Apple Developer Technical Support. I just started to get a SIM Failure Pop up on my iphone 5on Thursday while traveling and using Maps fornavigation. I cannot seem to remove or repair this error.I have gone to yoru support page and followedinstructions on how to reset network.I first tried to send a text and failure came up. Then resetnetwork and text went through, but pop up still came upwith Sim Failure every time I turn my phone on.I also followed instructions to remove Sim Card whenturned off and Reinserted it and that did not work either. What do I do? I have powered off, updated phone andanything on yoru site I couldl handle myself to do.Can you fix this? Or is it a Verizon Wireless issue?
I dropped my iPhone from waist height flat onto the back (I have a zoogue case on it), and now grey vertical lines appear down the left side of the screen. I have powered off holding the home/power button, but nothing changed. I can't swipe to unlock it, so I can't type in my password in order to back it up over the cloud/my computer before resetting it. Has this happened to anyone? Suggestions? Home fixes? Or am I helpless?
Hello Apple Commuinty, Recently my partners iphone will not let her to connect to WiFi as On/Off selection under WiFi is greyed out. We have tried all info shown in article TS1559 and still no joy. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks,Mike
I have iPhone 4S it has a H2o SIM card that's worked for about 6 months no problem then one day it said SIM card failure I powered phone on/off once and started working again. Two weeks later it took 3-4 times of me cycling power on/off and removing SIM card and reinstalling it in order to get it to work. Then a week later it did same thing but took even longer. Now it won't read at all and I thought it was SIM card so I went and bought a new SIM card but no change, I looked online for help and even tried to put tape on tray/card like someone said but no change(if I even putting the tape in right place. I tried several different ways) Nothing seems to work. My phone was manufactured between 19-25 of March 2012 so hopefully I can get warranty but not original owner so not sure. Does anyone have any idea what can cause this? Why hasn't Apple fixed this problem since its been happening for a long time
There is an article today indicated that the Associated Press has discovered that the iPhone 5 from Verizon Wireless is unlocked and will work with an AT&T sim on the AT&T Network. The article did not state if the phone will also work on other networks. A Verizon spokesperson has verified that indeed their version of the iPhone 5 is unlocked.
hi I am a big apple fan in TAIWAN.recently I bought a iphone 5 from local telecom and I apply 7-mobile as my telecom.however recently 7-mobile is a small telecom company, it's fine to use 3G,the problem is 7-mobile required user to change APN from internet to opentalk to get 3G, therefore, it made personal hotspot can't be used to share, I had already called the 7-mobile customer service and they replied it's apple's problem only allowed three "big" telecom.(Chunghwa, Far Easone, and Taiwan mobile)whether apple's engineer can solve this problem for me and also every 7-mobile users with iphone?
FYI guys. I powered down my phone for a couple hours, then went back to the App Store. It had a fifth update, but this time it allowed me to complete my updates. Dunno if that helps you guys.
As stated, iphone4S is the smartest phone available. I lost my iphone4S recently and the person who took it, immediately powered it off. I signed in icloud and put my phone in stollen mode using Find My Phone utility which is still pending. I got the sim blocked and reported to police. They will deal it in their own way. My question is: are there other methods to trace my phone?
Im a iphone5 user, also I am using the IOS 6.1 system.but nowadays I am facing to a terrible problem. The phone suddenly powered off when I open a app on the phone, and the screen become black slowly, and then the white apple come here. after that, sometimes it may become good. but the problem is still exist.
A few days ago, the LED light came on and won't turn off - not even when powered down. I do not have any flashlight apps or anything that uses it other than the camera, what should I do?
I have an iPone 5 that I set on a sports bench while playing a sport out side. It was about 30 degrees out. After a half hour of play. I picked up the phone, touched the screen to see if there were any messages and crack, the screen shattered. Not only that but the phone battery was completely dead. Has anyone else had this problem? I have Apple Care Plus on the phone and was told the repair counted as one of the incidents covered by the plan. When I argued the point that it broke due to cold the representative said he understood and wished it could be covered but Apple's policy is to treat all glass breakage as an accident. I am an engineer, not a materials engineer but an engineer all the same. I suspect there is a design flaw with the screen due to its shape and the thinness of the device. It appears to me the case cooled at a quicker rate then the glass and stressed the screen. The screen was further stressed by the heat of the electronics inside. When I touched the cold screen with my worm finger, the added heat as a point source further stressed the screen to its yield point, causing it to shatter. I believe this is a product flaw that Apple should repair at no cost. Please let me know it you have had a similar issue. I did not have the third party screen proctor on the phone. Only the glass. If you have not had this issue, protect the phone from the cold. I had a iPone 4 for years that was left in much colder temperatures without issue. That is why I suspect the shape and thinness of the device can cause the screen to crack in cold temperatures.
Dear Contacts Journal Support Team, Each time i have been trying what you put up for me,i always delete The Application Completely, then go to iTune Apps Store to re-download it. I know the apps store will not give me an old version, that is why i do not use my Mac or iMac to replace the application however this has also been updated on my Macs. I reiterated in my message yesterday that,it is not that what you asked me to do is not working or i did not follow your instructions into details. I did follow every steps you stated. The end result is that, WHEN IT REACHES DATA MIGRATION,THE SCREEN WILL BE BLACK OR LIGHT BLUE BLACK,WITH A WHITE SCROLLING LINE THREAD ON THE DEVICE SCREEN,MEANING MIGRATION IS ABOUT TO TAKE PLACE. THIS WILL MOVE FOR ABOUT 2 or 3SECONDS,AND IT WILL CRASH. I have tried this several time,i do not mind starting all over again,i just want it to work with iCloud. We can give you feedback, and i praise your effort for not getting tired to respond. This is a good and real customer service assistance of which i really appreciate. My devices are up-to-date,and the application i download is the latest version. Please let's makes this application work, there is non like it on The Apps Store. So you should be proud of your work and your innovation which i see as very powerful as well as extremely useful. But when it becomes unworkable it render all my eulogies to your effort meaningless. Thanks for contacting me again and i hope you will make it work again. Please forget about my previous DATA,i want to start it NEW. But you can not turn ON & OFF even the iCloud on Contacts Journal. This is very important. If you are running the previous version of the app (3.2.1), then this crash will definitely happen on iOS6.1. You need to upgrade the CJournal app to the latest. We just sent you an email an hour before you sent this one!! It had instructions on how to overcome this particular problem "Cannot sync since another device is syncing at the same time". It doesn't look like you followed those instructions at all. This is our detailed feedback, so please read and follow them closely::- you can only get this message when you are trying to sync to iCloud with CJournal. It means that something else got stuck while syncing with iCloud before, and it needs you to clean up the iCloud database for CJournal (as previously instructed, and repeated below)- there is no hope for us to recover your previous data. The best we can do is to get the app working again with iCloud, by cleaning up your iCloud data for CJournal- your old data was previously wiped out when you cleaned up the iCloud database without backing it up. There isn't any chance that we can recover that. Maybe the Apple iCloud engineers can restore that for you (though I doubt it). If they do, then let us know and we can figure something out. Meanwhile, follow these instructions for resetting your iCloud data:- make sure all devices are updated to iOS6.1, and running the latest version of the app (3.3) [you can check if you have the latest version of the app by going to the App Store on your device, then checking the Updates section to see if you see any update for CJournal]- make sure to turn off iCloud sync option in CJournal, on all devices- To clean out your iCloud database, you have to go to the Settings app -> iCloud -> Storage and Backup -> Manage Storage -> Documents and Data -> Show All -> look for Contacts Journal. (if you don’t see it, then look for “icloud” with a blank white icon). Here, press the Edit button, then the Delete All button. This will clean out your iCloud database. Note that it will take a few minutes for your data to be deleted from your other devices, and you shouldn’t try syncing any of your devices to iCloud in the meantime. - Now restart all your devices by powering them down, then power them back up again.- Now, wait 5-10 minutes for the delete to go through- On one of your devices, with the latest data, turn on iCloud. If it gives an initial message saying "iCloud data already exists", then press Cancel. It means it hasn't updated from iCloud that you deleted the data. You'll have to open the Settings app and go to the same Show All page again, just so the device tries to connect to iCloud again. Wait a few minutes before trying to enable iCloud again.- After it's done transferring the information to iCloud, wait a few minutes, then connect your 2nd device to iCloud and let it connect with the existing iCloud data. If it gives a message saying "First Time iCloud Sync", then press Cancel. It means it hasn't detected the data you just uploaded from iCloud yet. Try again in a minute. Please follow these instructions closely. Let me know any instruction isn't clear to you.Regards. We are waiting for someone to be responsive to our questions about 6.1.1 eating my battery. It appears to be related to exchange. My wife's phone works fine without exchange in the mix. So that being the case, why can we not get an Apple engineer to help us?
updated to the 6.1 last week. I have a app for a local news paper that I pay a monthly fee to read on line and now since the update I have to sign in every time I read a diffrent article. What changed?
I'm trying to turn on my iPhone. It's powered off, and the lock button is broken. I think it turns itself back on when charged from 0%, but it was at 100% before this occurred, so it would take forever to drain the battery. Is there a way to kick the iPhone into being powered on?
I have an iphone 4 that is less than a year old that stopped taking a charge. So I let tje units battery die and one day decided to plug it in. It gav me the battery icon and indicated it was charging. As soon as it powered itself on it no longer showed the battery was charging and died a few minutes later. I'm really confuses by this. Any suggestions?

I just bought the Iphone 5 two days ago. I am having a lot of issues connecting to every other network but my own network at home At home I am using a N900 Cisco Router. The security settings on it are WPA2, My verizon carrier update is version 13.3 and I have updated to IO6.0.2. I have reset the phone to factory defualts, I have reset the network, I have powered off the phone and done everything I could to get them to work on this network. Personal. Now I have been to my girlfriends parents and many other places that are public and even after double checking the password. the Iphone 5 From Trouble shooting: I have noticed that the Iphone 5 doesn't seem to like many security options on the routers. Even on my new router I tried several different security options and it seemed to like WPA2 the best. Othrwise I was getting major issues. The iphone would connect sometimes only to be slow and not connect. The wifi signal would keep being scanned and would go out and come back in. The signal strength also qould keep fluctuation even when near the router. My brothers same andriod device was doing the same thing. My brothers Iphone 5 was doing the same thing when using the different networks. Apple there is a major problem here that needs to be addressed when refering to wifi. Considering most carriers now charge for data it is important that if I have access to all the wifi networks I can connect too. This is a major issue that needs to be resolved and looking at the forums it is not an isolated incident. Recomendations: People who call in with this issue, need to have phones replaced if not able to patch, Since no patch exists at the moment, it would be prudent to offer people who are having trouble a credit towards their wireless bill by working with cell providers and to have apple issue a version of an RMA number. Until the issue is resolved. I have 17 days to return my phone to verizon and I am going to wait to hear back. My girlfriend is in the market for a new phone and we can't have issues with a wifi connection especially when charges are going to ensue if we go over our data. Plus the unavailability of a network in areas my cell provider is not able to help with is important. We as apple users need immediate attention to this matter and it is not a matter of how the phone scans for networks. It is an issue with connectivity and how it is communicating with certain encryptions with the routers. Fix need asap. This issue is also not localized to the Iphone 5 as it is happening on the Ipad 4
My IP5 intermittently locks up (frozen screen) when the charger cord is plugged in and the battery is charged to 100%. At least, that's the only time I've noticed it. As soon as I remove the charger cord, it works normally again. Anyone else have this problem? I'm wondering if this is a bug that Apple will have to address?
Woke up to find out my iphone had sent out about 30 emails to contacts (not my full contact list - guessing maybe the last 30 contacts that have been either received/sent via email). The web site isn't one I ever remember accessing (which in iteself is weird). http://dcrconsultores.com.br/pbolqlx.pho This is a fairly new phone acquired from my provider TELUS sent directly from TELUS during the inital shipment of iphone 5's last year. I am on the latest IOS 6.0.2....model MD295C....... Any suggestions on how to fix the problem Yes I have a window's PC.....but it was powered off last night when the emails went out from my iphone....also when I checked this morning there were no outgoing emails in Outllook.......
I left my iphone sitting on the dashboard of a taxi and forgot to lift it. As soon as I got out of the taxi, I remembered so I rang the taxi company to get it for me. I also rang the phone and it was turned off, which is strange as two minutes earlier it was on and it had a 80% battery life so I knew something was strange. Suprise suprise the taxi company never found it. I went on to icloud and put the phone (the device was called jacks iphone) in lost mode and tried to track it but it was offline so I could never find it. Now several weeks down the line I went back on to icloud and this mysterious device TonkhawiPhone7_ was in my list of devices. Its an iphone 4 as well. So could this be my iphone and the person who now has it has changed the name of the device? It doesn't appear to allow me to put it in lost mode for some reason. Can apple help me get my iphone back? Thanks for reading
I have a new iphone5. I have it poweredoff and plugged into the wall, but I am not getting any charging icon. Any ideas?.. Bill Steed
Around 5am this morning I picked up my phone to look at the time and noticed that it said 'searching.....' where my carrier name should be, normally I get great signal in my home. I didn't think much of it and went back to sleep. When I woke up two hours later it still said 'searching' so I toggled airplane mode with no change. I then powered the phone off with no change, next I did a hard reset by holding the power button and home button till it shut down. Same result. 'searching.......' forever. I then plugged my iPhone into my computer and loaded up itunes, it correctly identified my phone then asked me to backup and update it to 6.0.2 firmware. Thinking that this may clear whatever bug may be affecting the 3g radio I accepted and started the process. The phone backed up without issue (thank goodness) but then as it was about to complete the firmware update it threw a -1 error back. Multiple re-attempts at restoring did not work. The iPhone now just displays the 'connect to itunes' screen. A few minutes of searching revealed that it was most likely a hardware issue. This phone has been babied, kept in a simple, low profile case, never dropped, no moisture whatsoever has touched it. It really ***** that this would happen out of the blue like this. Apple is taking care of me though, with no Apple retail shop anywhere close to me, they offered to cross-ship a new phone to me. I don't mind the hold on my credit card. Should be here just after christmas.
Problem on getting wifi to switch on Cannot slide the icon across at all Have reset powered down and still not working
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2246056/Woman-takes-picture-mobile-phone -stolen-nightclub-unwittingly-sends-owner.html A woman has unwittingly taken a picture of herself on a stolen iPhone that has then been sent to its rightful owner. With a downloaded app, the owner was able to take a photo of the woman as she tried to unlock the +$400 (£319) mobile phone, as well as map the phone's location after it was stolen from the Coalition nightclub in Brighton, East Sussex earlier this month. The owner, armed with the information and the photo emailed to them by the app, called Sussex Police. The dark-haired woman appeared to be sitting in a car as she tried to access the white iPhone 4. Police said they do not know whether the woman pictured was responsible for the theft but they appealed for her or anyone who recognises her to contact them. Pc Gavin Crute, of Sussex Police, said: ‘The owner of the camera has a rather cool app that takes a picture of anyone who tries to unlock it, maps their current location and then sends all the info back to the owner in an email. ‘We know where and when the photo was taken and it appears to be in a vehicle with quite a large sunroof. ‘We don't know that the woman is the person who stole the camera, but she obviously has had some connection with it in the meantime and I'd like to speak to her about it.’ Anyone with information is asked to call Sussex Police on 101. There are various iPhone apps that track stolen iPhones. It is thought that the app used was iGotYa which is activated when a wrong passcode is entered into the phone keypad. iGotYa is a third-party app, made by Cyndia, which is not available in the official Apple store. It is an alternative to Apple's free Find My iPhone software, which shows a stolen phone's approximate location on a map but does not take a picture of its user. Device Locator costs $2.99 (£1.86) allows the phone owner to track the location of a misplaced iPhone and take a photo which is then sent to a website where the photo can be viewed. This app also allows the user to trigger an audible alarm on the phone. GadgetTrak costs $3.99 (£2.48) can generate location reports, send discreet messages to the device and also take a photo of the thief. The latest statistics reveal 170 iPhones are stolen every day in London, many of them from pedestrians targeted by muggers on bicycles. The wife of Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason recently said she is now too scared to use her phone in public after she was mugged while walking her dogs. Annette Mason had her iPhone snatched from her grasp by a bike-riding hoodie as she was trying to send a text. Okay just who do I gotta convince at Apple to get them to add this to the App Store? Or at least get the feature where a picture, location, date & time is sent back to my email whenever someone enters in the wrong password? I just heard about this story today & taught that's an incredibly beneficial feature to have. Now my iPhones not jailbroken and I really have no interest in jailbreaking so I can't get this app but I would vary much like to see this added to Find My iPhone.
So according to this article the only sensor is on the SIM tray but shouldnt it be one in the headphone jack or on the lightning connector?
I've reset my Jawbone Prime. It goes into auto pairing mode. iPhone 5 sees "jawbone" but won't pair. Any advice? I've already tried the following protocols from online support communities. Thanks for your help, Janet To reset your Jawbone Prime simply follow the steps listed below: 1. Press and hold down the Talk Button on the Jawbone Prime. (It does not matter whether the Prime is on or off.) 2. Connect the Jawbone Prime to the USB charger cable. (The cable needs to be plugged into an active USB port or to an electrical outlet via the Wall Charger unit.) 3. Release the Talk Button. 4. Disconnect the Jawbone Prime from the USB charger cable. Turn on the Jawbone. It should begin to flash red every six seconds when it is turned on. While it is flashing red press the following sequence of buttons. NoiseAssassin Button, Talk Button, Talk Button, NoiseAssassin Button, Talk Button, Talk Button The Jawbone should flash red/white/red/white showing that it is in a manual pairing mode. Pairing mode will last for three minutes or until pairing is complete. THIRD : powered up iphone 4 while Jawbone flashing red/white. Turned on Bluetooth ( Settings / General /Bluetooth ON ). Jawbone PAIRED with iphone4 AUTOMATICALLY ( no request for 0000 code ) and Jawbone flashes WHITE when paired and on. I tried this too:i was having problems with pairing my "JAWBONE" bluetooth device. i followed the directions and still nothing. i turned on the bluetooth on my iphone the auto search kept searching for devices but nothing would show up. i called tech support and was told to go to "settings" then switch the "airplane mode" on and off several times then turn the bluetooth on and off and then back on. it started worked instantly!

I finally upgraded to a iPhone 5 from my old 3G and I cannot get it to connect ot my home WiFi. It can see the WiFi and I have WEP encription on the network using a Netgear WGT624v3 wireless router and 128bit encryption and when I enter the password, the iPhone gives me an "incorrect Password" warning. I have tried several times to enter it and even texted it to the phone and copied and pasted it to avoid any typos to no avail. I have powered down the router, removed the encryption, tried another encryption key, rebooted the iPhone but cannot get it to connect. This is a router with a 802.11 g and b protocol working on channel 11 and I have not had issue with our iPad 2, my wife's iPhone 3GS, my old iPhone 3G or our Macbook Pro. I also tried to enter the network manually and it just does not want to accept the password whether it needs one or not. What am I not doing correctly? I say that there were some issues when people upgraded from an earlier operating system to the current one but this is a new phone as of yesterday??
Since I have the new iPhone 5 I notice a bad calling voice quality. Especially at home were I had before never problems with my iPhone 3. The person on the other side understands my fine only I cannot understand the calling person. At the conversation parts are missing, that I even not understand what the other person means. Carrier is O2 in Germany, I already order a new SIM Card on the advice of the Apple Support, where I already open up a case. What I am concerned about and is Apple already working on this, is that I already found a lot of forum article, about this issue and all didn’t had any solution, even after change the SIM card and replacement iPhone from Apple the bad calling voice quality stayed.
I have to double click my buttons before it accepts my inputs (i.e. passcode numbers). Just started today. Have powered it down severla times. The screen seems to be locked also, will not let me navagate up or down with finger. Help!
Having problems connecting to WiFi router at both home, work, and at public hotspots. I have the iPad from April 2012 which is also on iOS 6 and has no problems connecting. I cannot see nor connect to WiFi routers anywhere. If I turn my phone off at night, and turn it on in the morning, it works for around 30 minutes before the WiFi is lost. I can also put my phone in a ziploc bag and put it in the freezer for a few minutes (10 minutes or so) and it will work for about 30 minutes also. My guess is that the heat sensor or whatever type of sensor saves the iPhone from any type of thermal damage is malfunctioning following iOS 6. I'm wondering if the thermal disabling limit was programmed in Fahrenheit instead of Celsius, and maybe that's the mix-up. Prior to the iOS 6 upgrade, everything was fine with my phone, and I could connect to routers all over. As I'm able to connect with my wife's iPhone 4S to the same access points I can't even "see" on my iPhone, I believe it's a software issue. She's still running iOS 5.1.1 because I won't let her upgrade. Thoughts or advice? I do NOT want to return this to Apple to get a refurbished device in exchange for my new device. I truly believe this is a software based issue. If there was a way to go back to iOS 5.1.1 on my iPhone 4S I'd love to hear it. Thanks. (iPhone 4S, Black, 16GB, CDMA, powered by Sprint.... iPad April 2012, Black, 16GB, WiFi)
My new iPhone 5, and the other I tried when asked for a replacement at the AppleStore today, consider MY OWN VOICE as "noise" if I move the phone away from my ear to let it cool off, or read the agenda out loud. It's "cancelling" my own voice, when my voice enters as much through the top mic as through the lower mic.It seems smart, but THE PROXIMITY SENSOR should be telling the phone that THAT WON'T WORK. The proximity sensor works, turning off/on the screen, so it's not that "the phone doesn't know I moved the phone away" (to stop the noise cancelling system). It just ignores the fact I'm doing it. The system works by reducing the sound that is entering through the top mic but NOT through the lower one, considering it "noise". The problem is when you speak directly to the screen, like reading from the screen, both mics get the same audio, your voice, and it's all considered "noise". For everyone who notices this, here's my technical description. I know Apple will silence until thousands or complaints or next version gets it fixed. I think it's an issue with the software, since the other unit I tried did the same. The Customer rep recommended me NOT to wait for a replacement without that issue, but gave me no solution, so it was like "keep it or return it. It's either that or nothing" (based on the scarcity of new phones) It seems the "replacement" units are older and even probably refurbished. The first one she brought me had the frame nicked and the protective film with hand-palm and finger prints on it. The second one was cleaner, and had the same mutting mic issue. So I'll return this unit next week and I'll wait until they stop speculating with us losing the first month before they say anything officially about the issues we all read about (and could really tell what it is if we had the right screw-driver). No need for a engineer degree to see what's causing it. I can't believe Apple's silence about the rattling noise and this. I'd like an official answer for this and the rattling noise (tap it next to the camera with one finger while on your ear).
My iPhone 4 used to be able yo upload to youtube. Since I got iCloud I cannot anymore. I get the message: We see irregularities in the aspect ratio of your uploaded video file. If your upload does not fit well in the video player, read this article for tips. What's going on?
Recently I read some article or posts either in the forum or out this forum. basically, the lost iphones are turned off and later on they would sync the itune to swipe off the phone as new. Just from the processes of restoring the phone as new. I am kinda inspire that Apple allows people to set passcodes to turn on the phones, why doesn't Apple allows the iphone users to set passcodes to turn the phones off, or even passcodes to connect to itune and sync the phone as new?
So, I think I might have an idea as to what is causing my new iPhone to use battery like it is going out of fashion. There are lots of threads on here talking about battery life, trying to figure out if it is the iPhone 5 or ios 6 that is causing the problem. I have spent far too much time looking for answers online over the last few days. I am interested to know what network people who are having problems with short battery life are using in the UK? If my theory is correct I think you are on T mobile or Orange. The 2 things that make my battery percentage indicator act like a count down timer, are making calls, and using 3g. The closer I go to london the worse it gets. I have been using the speedtest app (free in the app store) to keep an eye on my data download speeds, I have been getting 15mbps on 3g and that just shouldnt be possible! My phone is now showing the EE network logo rather than the old T mobile one. Check out the link below, this is the most likely cause for my shocking battery life in my opinion.http://www.macobserver.com/tmo/article/iphone-5-battery-life-reduced-due-to-lte- signal-strengthSo if you battery is bonkers and you live in the UK, please let us all know which network your on so we can work out if apple are at fault, or if Everything Everywhere are pinching all my battery life.
I have a new problem with my Iphone 4 since last 3-4 days. It will only charge when switched off. Also, when connected to the PC, it says "Device not recognized".... Please help... anybody...
i am looking to find out how much /life/ is left on my battery as opposed to how to /save/ the battery from running out on a daily basis too fast. i mean, it seems to run down quicker now (before the day is out) whereas when i first bought it it seemed like i could run it for two days or a day and a half before having to plug in. i tried googling this and found an apple tech article and other links that did not seem to answer this issue. TIA i think i have gsm as opposed to cmda but in any event i am on at and t
