I'm restoring my iPhone 4S on iTunes 11.0 and it's stuck on restoring firmware

My phone won't send picture messages to any phone other than an iPhone and when I googled it, the solution was to restore it.So I did. Downloading the software itself took nearly 3 hours, but whatever. My phone restarted, but now the bar is stuck at ~3/4 done and it's on "restoring firmware". It's been this way for over 20min. I use iTunes 11.0 and Windows 7.Can anyone help me out? Would it be bad to reboot my computer at this stage?

Can I upgrade my iphone to an older or intermediate ios software iPhone 4S

I have an older iphone 4s in hand with iOS 5 on it.  I know that the current iOS is 6.1.4.  Still, on my laptop is an older 6.1.2 iOS in iTunes since my last download.  Is it possible for me to choose to upgrade to the older iOS, instead forcing to download the latest software?  It is true that Apple always forced us to be on the latest iOS software? Thank you in advance for any intelligent inputs and thoughts.

Iphone 4s turning off every minute

My Iphone is turning itself off every minute.  I've tried a reset while hooked to a computer and it doesnt even give it enough time to complete the reset before it shuts down again.  Keep getting error messages or looses the connection. Hard reboot doesnt work either.  Please help

Ringer not working iPhone 4S

When a call or text is coming throug there is no sound. The settings seem fine. When I switch the side button to red nothing happens. What used to happen would be the bell sign would come up with a line through it indicating the ringer was switched off but now nothing happens whichever way I switch it. Vibrate is switched on in settings but it isn't vibrating either. Interestingly the alarm is working so the sounds are not completely gone.  I have powered it off an back on etc., but it hasn't made any difference. Any advice. Thanks Paula

I had a story about not charging iPhone. PHcharge my iPhoneI insterday evening (Philippine Time). But it charged less than 1 second. It running out. I plug it anywhere but it not worked. I had to check the battery bar, i found that my iPhone is depleted fast. I checked the LCI but it white. I tried anything:A. Charged for at least 15 minutesB. Turn on and off the iPhone.C. Restart the iPhone.D. Plug it to the computer. But it failed. I will need to seek repair on repair shops? I don't attempt to repair this iPhone. I'm scared about this iPhone is not charging. Should I get iphone 5 containing 16gb or 32gb Or should I wait for newer version of iphone to come out

I'm planning on buying the iphone 5 because I have an upgrade available. I have never owned an iphone before, but I do have an 2gn ipod which has 8 gbs and has 2 apps and have used 5.5 of my 6.84 gbs available with songs(1175 songs). I have also have 30 photos, and have 1.5 gbs left to fill. If I do get the iphone 5 I will not put music on it, because I have my ipod. I would like to have a lot of apps though, because I like to test them out, and give reviews on them. I have a fair amount of photos in my current phone(around 400), but the camera quality is not that good, and I think because the iphone 5 have a lot more gbs than my current one that I will want to take more than I usually do(although I would probably upload them onto my computer and delete the originals off my phone). I don't have that many contacts and I have a tablet where I play my games and movies on, so that is not an issue. I know this is a bit long but I really want to make the right choice because I plan on having this phone until my next upgrade which is in 2 years. I want to know if 16gbs should be enough or if should I go with the 32gbs? OR if I should just wait for the newer version to come out, and if this is worth to buy. I would also would like to know what the perks and downsides are too. Thank you for your patience and time.

I have just started to update the latest iOS 6.1.3 and my wifi disconnected and all of my contacts have been deleted. My phone has not updated to ios 6.1.3 as wifi stopped working. I have never backed up on iTunes on a computer, I always download everything directly from wifi onto my iPhone. Can I get my contacts back? If I can, how? Please help!!

iPhone 4s stuck in recovery mode. Error code-1 .

I recently bought my iPhone 4s from a guy (who bought it from someone else). He sold it to me pretty cheap because when he bought it, one of his friends tried to restore it for him and it got stuck in recovery mode. I have no idea if the phone has ever been "tampered with" or not. He didn't seem to know much about it (said it was his first smartphone) and I thought I might have a chance of fixing it. I'm starting to lose faith in that...I've tried almost everything I can find. I know there are tricks for this all over the internet and I've tried almost all of them. TinyUmbrella does nothing, Redsn0w won't even install on my computer (frustrating!). Trying to restore from iTunes is useless. It gets to about 90% then comes up with error code (-1) and gives up. I've tried that route probably 20 times with no change. I know I could take it into Apple and they could look at it, but I have no information on the phone itself. I cannot get the serial number. Does anyone have any suggestions at all? I'll try anything that doesn't require me taking it to Apple and getting charged more than I paid for the phone to fix it....I run Windows 7. Thanks so much!

iPhone GPS programmed to stick to nearby roads iPhone 4S

I have been using this app called +3 to record my rides. Since about iOS 5, i noticed the GPS on the phone started to try to stick to roads when I was going offroad. When I get more than 300 feet away from the road, the GPS suddenly corrects its position and starts to show correctly where I am. When I ride parallel to the road about 200 feet away, the GSP shows me right on the road for the whole time. It seems to me that whoever introduced this "feature" decided to not trust the GPS and let the software decide where I am instead. It seems quite irritating to me as I can't quite tell my route once recorded inaccurately. I have observed the behavior with both my iPhone 4s and 5 with no difference. Has someone else experienced this with their phone?

Has had problem with Iphone 4s battery not holding charged status

My 4S Iphone would not sync although it would charge when i connected it to my computer. I  got help from an apple representative who walked me through syncing with icloud to get back my contacts.  My phone wil not hold a charge since then. Apple diagnostic said the battery was perfect??

My IPhone wont turn on after updating

My Iphone 4G was updating to the latest i.OS software on itunes (on my windows computer). As usual, my phone had to restart. It turned off, but as it was turning on (when the screen just shows that silver apple logo) an error message came up on itunes saying that it couldnt update the software (I forgot to get the error number). But my phone is stuck with that silver apple logo on it. My computer tells me to restore my phone, which I tried, but everytime I do that, itunes says "extracting software" and then it says "preparing to restore" then it comes up with an error message (number 2009). I have tried restarting my computer. My phone is stuck like this. What should I do? Please help!

Iphone 5 keeps turning itself off

Hi Ive had iphone 5 since it came out, and recently this year, its been turning itself off with plenty of battery life and wont allow me to turn it back on until I have plugged it into wall charger to 'charge' it back up.  When its plugged in, it returns to the battery level it was originaly at....30%, 50% for example. Has anyone else experienced this issue?  Im going to do a iCloud and computer back up and restore firmware see if that helps?Chris

iphone 5 suddenly no sound

I recently had a software update (6.1.4) on my Iphone 5.  I ran the update last week and everything seemed fine.  However, as of yesterday my phone no longer made sound, it just stopped making sounds to everything.  It makes no sound when it rings, when I receive a text/email or when I try to listen to music.  The sound is completely dead.  The little switch on the left of the phone is turned on for volume.  I did a reset and nothing seems to help.  Has anyone encountered this problem?  Does anyone have a solution?

Desperate- way to extract location history of my iphone where I have been

Please help- its my understanding that iphone stores where you have been (location history). When I was searching the Internet to see if I could access this info, I found Pete wardens iphone tracker download (I think it came out in April 2011), but then I read that apple fixed this problem of storing this info on your computer too, by releasing a software update shortly after. Is that correct? If I backup my iphone to computer will it have a file on there that stores the history of where I and my iphone have been? Or is this no longer the case? I desperately need a log with time stamps, I need to prove where I have been in the last week (marriage problems). If iphone only keeps this info on the phone now, can I access it somehow?Thanks for your help-Alisha

iPhone 4 battery drain when powered off

Lately I've been turning off my phone and when I turn it back on battery is drained. Yesterday I turned it off at 80% and when I turned it back on 3 hours later it was at 62%. Then today I turned it off at 50% and when I turned it back on it was at 32%! Does anyone know why my iPhone is losing battery even when it's completely powered off? I feel like it shouldn't be losing any battery at all

I have been trying to update my iPhone's software for the past few weeks due to my current provider not being found. (A bar that says "Searching" is always at the top where my 3G should be.) Yet whenever I try directly from my iPhone, it always end with an error message. So, yesterday I tried updating directly from itunes and I let it download the new update and all that. However, after it finished trying to update my iPhone, it put my iPhone in a recovery mode and I've been trying to fix it eversince. I can not access my iPhone, all it has is an icon saying to connect to itunes. I've tried troubleshooting, checking my software, updating my computer etc. yet it still leaves me with this message: "The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (-1)." I've looked on the apple site and I've made sure my security is up to date, my computer is up to date, my itunes is up to date and that I have restarted my computer. I am very irritated and I don't know what to do. I don't know what to do because my warranty is over with apple and I still have a few years on my contract. Hi, I purchased an iPhone 5 back in February from an Apple store. Worked absolutely fine until now, where some software issue are appearing; The battery drains ridiculously fast even when features are disabled (i.e. location services, 3G when not needed), and also the home button some time has a lag when exiting apps. This has been bothering me now, but there is a slight blemish on the phone near the earphone jack... would Apple dismiss a replacement and ask for a charge, even though it's 3 months old?

Right, my problem is that my iPhone is turned on BUT the screen is blank. How can I get this to turn off or reset and respond to my iTunes. I've tried the manual reset by pressing the the sleep/on/off button with the home button at the same time and I get nothing. I've even tried plugging it into my laptop to respond with iTunes but that doesn't work either. It will connect to a wall charger with the same wire as that I'm using to connect to the computer. All of a sudden I lost my wifi signal....Checked out the settings and the WiFi is off and unable to turn it back on....i have powered down the phone...i have done a full restore and the wifi switched remains greyed out....any suggestions?

Iphone 5 bluetooth issue

I recently upgraded from 4s to 5. I'm experiencing issues with the bluetooth transmission/receive range. When I'm running with the iphone on my arm my wireless headset quite often drops the connection. Same problem when I'm using bluetooth with My car. I can't have the phone in My pocket while driving, I must put it between My seats, otherwhise the connection drops.  Had no problem like this with My 4 or 4s, so I convinced it's something with iPhone 5. Anyone else? Is it a hardware or software issue?

Battery not charging iPhone 5

The iPhone5 is less than 6 months old. After I downloaded some photos to my computer through the USB, I then needed to recharge my iPhone5. So, I removed the cord from the USB port plugged it into the adapter and then plugged into a wall receptacle. After more than 8 hours it has not charged. The symbol shows it is charged but the battery icon shows only 29% and it continues to decline when used. Any ideas on what to do other than taking it to the store. Thank you for any assistance

how to import photos from computer to camera roll iPhone 3G

i have been using the same back up file for my phone's for the past four years and my iphone 5 started was all glitchy and i had over 10gb of other used up on phone so i restored it. before i restored it though i saved all of my pictures to a folder on my mac using image capture. now im wonder how to import the photos back into my camera roll, not another folder on my phone. so far i have tried using ieplorer and a couple of other programs like that but no luck. i have about 1,500 photos so i cant email all of them to myself and then save them all. all i want is all my photos back into my camera roll :/

Black screen iPhone 4

I have an iPhone 4. This morning I Fell and dropped it and the back cracked. Just about 45 minutes ago, my phone was knocked out of my hand and it fell on the floor. I picked it up and it would vibrate when i would get texts but the screen was black. I had heard somewhere that holding down the home and lock button down would fix the phone if it was frozen. it didn't seem to work. But when I got home I plugged my phone into the computer just to see what would happen. i thought i saw something faint light up on the screen. it looked like a usb cord. so i took the phone into a dark room but i let a little light hit it too. At just the right angle i could see the usb cord with an arrow pointing to an iTunes sign. so I connected it to iTunes on my computer. In just the right angle, I could see that i could unlock my phone. My phone screen was really dark so i tried turning up the brightness but it didnt work. So if just the right light hits the phone i can somewhat see the screen.Out of that light it just looks like the screen is black.  I'm thinking that the screen light went out when my phone was kncked out of my hand. any help or advice?

iPhone 5 seizing randomly-unable to be used

I am not the most technically inclined, so please bear with me.  About two months ago, lines began showing up in Safari every now and again. They would go away, so I didn't think too much of it. Then one night, while in a game app, the screen began "flashing" like a strobelight. It couldn't exit the app fully, was blinking half the screen in the app, part of the home screen, etc. You cannot see throught the commotion to use the phone, if the programs can even open. This happened all evening, through the night, and the entire following day. Then it stopped.  It was fine when I took it to the AT&T store (the closest Apple store is 45 minutes away, so I wanted to be sure AT&T couldn't do anything for me) but by opening and closing programs and apps, I was able to force it to act up. Of course when I left the store, it worked fine again.  It was fine for a few days, acting up only a time or two, but I drove 45 minutes to the Apple store. My Genius Bar member told me it was software based and that I should restore the phone, download the software again, and manually add my media back on. After the four+ hours of downloading and 2+ hours of adding media, it was fine again. That was about two weeks ago. Now it's back.  I looked into the diagnostics (what I can see through the noise on the screen) and I have many different errors going on. Googling these errors codes is not providing much information, and again, I am not the best with this stuff.  SO:-Is a latestcrash.plist or mediaserverd.plist the same as a panic.plist code? In turn, if they are, will Apple replace the phone as they supposedly do in the case of panic.plist crashes? -I've noticed a bunch of the issues seem related to audio and video functions on the phone. I have AudioToolbox, CoreFoundation, and CoreQuartz codes, for example. Are these things that would justify a replacement? I am sitting through another 4 hour software download right now in order to restore the phone again, but am afraid to lose that diagnostics info, but also cannot see the screen to send any diagnostics info to Apple. Is this something that is software based? Does that mean I am going to be doing this every few weeks? The phone is only 6 months old, but I don't want to let it go and loet the one year manufacturer's warranty.  I apologize for being so verbose but I really cannot find anything online that sounds similar to what my phone is doing. Any guidance would be much appreciated.

Updating from iOS 6.0.1 to 6.1.4 battery life iPhone 5

Before I purchased my iPhone 5 on 12/31 I read a lot of reviews saying how updating the version of iOS from the original one that comes with the iPhone 5 has a bad effect on battery life. Because of the countless reviews featuring this complaint, I have never updatd my software from iOS 6.0.1 since I got my phone over 4 months ago in fear of experiencing future battery life problems. 6.1.4 came out a week or so ago and I'm wondering if the battery life issue has been addressed by now. If I choose to update, will my iPhone eat up battery life faster? I am very meticulous with closing apps and being able to go over 24 hours without having to charge my iPhone. Please advise. Thanks!

hey there, so i bought my iphone on April 5th and it was working fine up until 2 days ago, my phone started glitching and shutting off by itself. Today it shows up with the input cord on the bottom of the screen and an arrow pointing to the itunes symbol at the top of the screen. When i plug my iphone into the computer it says it needs to be restored, i click "restore iphone", it then loads well but when it makes the final load to turn my phone on, it crashes and says "the iphone "iphone" could not be restored. Following the most recent ios version update, my iPhone 5 completely crapped out and had that little usb symbol on the screen.  I called Apple...they walked me through transferring all my almost 3000 photos/videos to my computer (obviously not able to do through iTunes/iCloud when my phone wasn't functioning).  I asked if everything else (about 250 apps...no music) would be in the most recent cloud backup which was only a couple hours before the phone crapped out.  They said yes.  I did the restore and only about 30 of my 250ish apps restored!  I never saw all my apps in my iTunes for some reason and all the apps that I can see in my iTunes have been restored.  I wasn't at capacity for iCloud storage either because it happened a couple months ago and I bought more storage space.  I've only been an iPhone user since Dec 2012 so PLEASE HELP if you can and let me know if there is anymore inof you need from me to help me troubleshoot. PS=I use a good 30-40 of those apps while I'm running experiential marketing campaigns in the field...one of which is a HUGE campaign I'm managing starting tomorrow.  I'm toally FREAKING out right now with my apps not all restored even though the restore is complete. PLEASE HELP -super grateful in advance Julia
