I put my pictures on a new Iphone. Then I restored my old info from my old phone on my new one. The pictures got deleted. Is there any way to get them back? These pics are so important to me. They are of my baby nephew who passed away and I am so sad. Thank you for any ideas. I feel like I may have to look into some kind of forensic restoration for the photos, but honestly, I would just do whatever it took to get them back for our family. I should add that technology is certainly not my forte.... Thank you to everyone for any ideas; I would really appreciate some help with this.
I am able to power down my iPhone 5, by sliding the red slider. But then about 30 seconds later, it powers back up by itself. I've already done the Sleep/Snooze button and the Home button together for 10 seconds, but to no avail. Any other suggestions?
When a call or text is coming throug there is no sound. The settings seem fine. When I switch the side button to red nothing happens. What used to happen would be the bell sign would come up with a line through it indicating the ringer was switched off but now nothing happens whichever way I switch it. Vibrate is switched on in settings but it isn't vibrating either. Interestingly the alarm is working so the sounds are not completely gone. I have powered it off an back on etc., but it hasn't made any difference. Any advice. Thanks Paula
After months and months of not being able to update my iPhone 4 to the new technology due to storage usage, i was finally able to. Now after two hours of waiting, my phone says it was verifying the update. My phone turned off and then turned back on and i got the plug into iTunes icon. After i plugged it in it says that the iPhone update server cannot be found.
Lately I've been turning off my phone and when I turn it back on battery is drained. Yesterday I turned it off at 80% and when I turned it back on 3 hours later it was at 62%. Then today I turned it off at 50% and when I turned it back on it was at 32%! Does anyone know why my iPhone is losing battery even when it's completely powered off? I feel like it shouldn't be losing any battery at all
All of a sudden I lost my wifi signal....Checked out the settings and the WiFi is off and unable to turn it back on....i have powered down the phone...i have done a full restore and the wifi switched remains greyed out....any suggestions?
Well I tried turning off the Bluetooth, turning off WIFI, turning off location services, and all Push activity. After all of this my battery lasts about 8 hours. I guess I could keep the phone powered off but I think that kind of defeats the purpose of owning the phone. Any studies on the lifespan of an iPhone 4 battery? My applecare warranty runs out in a few months.
My mom passed me her phone as she couldn't get it to restart. I got it to charge and restart in recovery mode. However, I've tried all steps on this and many other forums and it is stuck in "trying to restore". On the phone, it will blink a white screen, show the apple logo and a progress bar then quickly disappear then on the computer give me error code 9. I have tried 3 different cords, on both my MacBook Air and my iMac. Same results on both computers. She purchased a new phone as she couldn't do without, but would love to fix this phone and give to one of my children. This phone has not been jailbroken. Any help would be sooooo appreciated! Not sure what will happen if I try to take this to Apple.
My Iphone 5 has been connected succesfully via bluetooth to my car for the past 5 months (Ford Fiesta). Yesterday I went to use it and it wont connect, I powered off the phone, turned bluetooth on/off still not working. I debonded all phones from the car and went to start afresh but that wont work either. When it is searching for devices it just seems to be stuck? I tried another Iphone 5 in my car and that connected no problems at all. Anyone have any ideas, it clearly must be the phone but wonder what on earth I have done.
I purchased an I Phone 4 in Dec 2012. Since then the phone has been replaced 3 times due to variuos issues like screen flickering, applications crashing etc. However, the issue still remains. The said issue has been escalated by the concerned person at the Authorised Service Station of Apple to higher authorities. In a situation like this where an issue is not resolved even after replacing the device 3 times, whether Apple will refund the purchase price of the phone or will upgrade me to the latest technology available in the Market ie an I Phone 5?

Under an exemption in the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DCMA), jailbreaking the iPhone has been kept legal through 2015. Given the aforementioned, along with the indisputable fact that "tweaks" exist, allowing jailbroken devices to build upon Apple technology, thereby enhancing the users experience... Why does Apple continue to stand in the way by providing roadblocks to what has been deemed legal?
You're not addressing Apple here, just iPhone users, please don't provide your personal data like serial/imei numbers Have you tried this article? http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3424

I appreciate the info however Verizon supports both CDMA technology and 4G LTE. LTE is a SIM based technology. All Verizon 4G LTE handsets use SIM Card technology...most of them use a Micro SIM. The iPhone 5 specifically uses a Nano LTE SIM
my Apple Iphone 5 charger is broken, I think its a fault with the technology because as far as I can think I've done nothing to mistreat or tamper with the item,I'm wondering if the 1year Apple guarantee would cover my charger and allow me to get a new one with no costs.
My iPhone 4s is not charging. Last few days it was eating up the battery life quicker than usual. Tried doing all the power up deals, turning off then on, even a restore. It is now completely powered off and not turning on even when plugged in. I'm out of ideas. A little help please! Thanks
With technology so advanced, can we not do something to protect the phone from rain. I had my Iphone4 in my purse rain from the store to my car in a down pour and Apple is telling me that it will cost $149 replacement cost from water damage... Seriously??? That seems a little extreme in this age that water damage damage would cause this problem..
We have been having trouble with our iPhone 4. It will just die. I researched the web and was able to find the information to restart it by pushing both buttons. This resets it, but does not last. I did a complete reset on the phone then updated it, but it continues to turn off and has to be restarted. It is out of warranty, any help would be great.
I just started to get a SIM Failure Pop up on my iphone 5on Thursday while traveling and using Maps fornavigation. I cannot seem to remove or repair this error.I have gone to yoru support page and followedinstructions on how to reset network.I first tried to send a text and failure came up. Then resetnetwork and text went through, but pop up still came upwith Sim Failure every time I turn my phone on.I also followed instructions to remove Sim Card whenturned off and Reinserted it and that did not work either. What do I do? I have powered off, updated phone andanything on yoru site I couldl handle myself to do.Can you fix this? Or is it a Verizon Wireless issue?
I dropped my iPhone from waist height flat onto the back (I have a zoogue case on it), and now grey vertical lines appear down the left side of the screen. I have powered off holding the home/power button, but nothing changed. I can't swipe to unlock it, so I can't type in my password in order to back it up over the cloud/my computer before resetting it. Has this happened to anyone? Suggestions? Home fixes? Or am I helpless?
I have recently purchased a new Lexus GS250 car which requires a phone that will connect to the internet using (DUN) dial up networking.Im lead to beleive that the Iphone has never had this technology as it is quite old. Im also lead to beleive that a Blackberry will connect tothis technology. My phone is an Iphone 5 can apple adjust the software to enable this function or not.
Hello Apple Commuinty, Recently my partners iphone will not let her to connect to WiFi as On/Off selection under WiFi is greyed out. We have tried all info shown in article TS1559 and still no joy. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks,Mike
I just downloaded a book from iTunes store called "iTec" which is apparently a free magazine of technology. I have it on iTunes but as I read in other discussions I can't open it from iTunes. So I synced my iPhone 4 which is still NOT with iOS 6. My iBooks is updated. Someone knows what's the reason for this book not to even appear in my iPhone (iBooks app)? I will thank you so much.
I have iPhone 4S it has a H2o SIM card that's worked for about 6 months no problem then one day it said SIM card failure I powered phone on/off once and started working again. Two weeks later it took 3-4 times of me cycling power on/off and removing SIM card and reinstalling it in order to get it to work. Then a week later it did same thing but took even longer. Now it won't read at all and I thought it was SIM card so I went and bought a new SIM card but no change, I looked online for help and even tried to put tape on tray/card like someone said but no change(if I even putting the tape in right place. I tried several different ways) Nothing seems to work. My phone was manufactured between 19-25 of March 2012 so hopefully I can get warranty but not original owner so not sure. Does anyone have any idea what can cause this? Why hasn't Apple fixed this problem since its been happening for a long time
There is an article today indicated that the Associated Press has discovered that the iPhone 5 from Verizon Wireless is unlocked and will work with an AT&T sim on the AT&T Network. The article did not state if the phone will also work on other networks. A Verizon spokesperson has verified that indeed their version of the iPhone 5 is unlocked.
FYI guys. I powered down my phone for a couple hours, then went back to the App Store. It had a fifth update, but this time it allowed me to complete my updates. Dunno if that helps you guys.
As stated, iphone4S is the smartest phone available. I lost my iphone4S recently and the person who took it, immediately powered it off. I signed in icloud and put my phone in stollen mode using Find My Phone utility which is still pending. I got the sim blocked and reported to police. They will deal it in their own way. My question is: are there other methods to trace my phone?
Im a iphone5 user, also I am using the IOS 6.1 system.but nowadays I am facing to a terrible problem. The phone suddenly powered off when I open a app on the phone, and the screen become black slowly, and then the white apple come here. after that, sometimes it may become good. but the problem is still exist.
A few days ago, the LED light came on and won't turn off - not even when powered down. I do not have any flashlight apps or anything that uses it other than the camera, what should I do?
Dear Contacts Journal Support Team, Each time i have been trying what you put up for me,i always delete The Application Completely, then go to iTune Apps Store to re-download it. I know the apps store will not give me an old version, that is why i do not use my Mac or iMac to replace the application however this has also been updated on my Macs. I reiterated in my message yesterday that,it is not that what you asked me to do is not working or i did not follow your instructions into details. I did follow every steps you stated. The end result is that, WHEN IT REACHES DATA MIGRATION,THE SCREEN WILL BE BLACK OR LIGHT BLUE BLACK,WITH A WHITE SCROLLING LINE THREAD ON THE DEVICE SCREEN,MEANING MIGRATION IS ABOUT TO TAKE PLACE. THIS WILL MOVE FOR ABOUT 2 or 3SECONDS,AND IT WILL CRASH. I have tried this several time,i do not mind starting all over again,i just want it to work with iCloud. We can give you feedback, and i praise your effort for not getting tired to respond. This is a good and real customer service assistance of which i really appreciate. My devices are up-to-date,and the application i download is the latest version. Please let's makes this application work, there is non like it on The Apps Store. So you should be proud of your work and your innovation which i see as very powerful as well as extremely useful. But when it becomes unworkable it render all my eulogies to your effort meaningless. Thanks for contacting me again and i hope you will make it work again. Please forget about my previous DATA,i want to start it NEW. But you can not turn ON & OFF even the iCloud on Contacts Journal. This is very important. If you are running the previous version of the app (3.2.1), then this crash will definitely happen on iOS6.1. You need to upgrade the CJournal app to the latest. After updating the app, you will have to follow the same steps as before, including cleaning up the iCloud database. Regards. This has happened at least more than 5 to 7 times on one device. I have got main 2 iPhone 5 main lines, the other lines are subsidiary to my European lines and Dublin. So,i do not on or try to set them at the same time. 2. We just sent you an email an hour before you sent this one!! It had instructions on how to overcome this particular problem "Cannot sync since another device is syncing at the same time". It doesn't look like you followed those instructions at all. This is our detailed feedback, so please read and follow them closely::- you can only get this message when you are trying to sync to iCloud with CJournal. It means that something else got stuck while syncing with iCloud before, and it needs you to clean up the iCloud database for CJournal (as previously instructed, and repeated below)- there is no hope for us to recover your previous data. The best we can do is to get the app working again with iCloud, by cleaning up your iCloud data for CJournal- your old data was previously wiped out when you cleaned up the iCloud database without backing it up. There isn't any chance that we can recover that. Maybe the Apple iCloud engineers can restore that for you (though I doubt it). If they do, then let us know and we can figure something out. Meanwhile, follow these instructions for resetting your iCloud data:- make sure all devices are updated to iOS6.1, and running the latest version of the app (3.3) [you can check if you have the latest version of the app by going to the App Store on your device, then checking the Updates section to see if you see any update for CJournal]- make sure to turn off iCloud sync option in CJournal, on all devices- To clean out your iCloud database, you have to go to the Settings app -> iCloud -> Storage and Backup -> Manage Storage -> Documents and Data -> Show All -> look for Contacts Journal. (if you don’t see it, then look for “icloud” with a blank white icon). Here, press the Edit button, then the Delete All button. This will clean out your iCloud database. Note that it will take a few minutes for your data to be deleted from your other devices, and you shouldn’t try syncing any of your devices to iCloud in the meantime. - Now restart all your devices by powering them down, then power them back up again.- Now, wait 5-10 minutes for the delete to go through- On one of your devices, with the latest data, turn on iCloud. If it gives an initial message saying "iCloud data already exists", then press Cancel. It means it hasn't updated from iCloud that you deleted the data. You'll have to open the Settings app and go to the same Show All page again, just so the device tries to connect to iCloud again. Wait a few minutes before trying to enable iCloud again.- After it's done transferring the information to iCloud, wait a few minutes, then connect your 2nd device to iCloud and let it connect with the existing iCloud data. If it gives a message saying "First Time iCloud Sync", then press Cancel. It means it hasn't detected the data you just uploaded from iCloud yet. Try again in a minute. Please follow these instructions closely. Let me know any instruction isn't clear to you.Regards. I'm trying to turn on my iPhone. It's powered off, and the lock button is broken. I think it turns itself back on when charged from 0%, but it was at 100% before this occurred, so it would take forever to drain the battery. Is there a way to kick the iPhone into being powered on?
I have an iphone 4 that is less than a year old that stopped taking a charge. So I let tje units battery die and one day decided to plug it in. It gav me the battery icon and indicated it was charging. As soon as it powered itself on it no longer showed the battery was charging and died a few minutes later. I'm really confuses by this. Any suggestions?

I have reset the phone to factory defualts, I have reset the network, I have powered off the phone and done everything I could to get them to work on this network. Personal. Now I have been to my girlfriends parents and many other places that are public and even after double checking the password. the Iphone 5 From Trouble shooting: I have noticed that the Iphone 5 doesn't seem to like many security options on the routers. Even on my new router I tried several different security options and it seemed to like WPA2 the best. Othrwise I was getting major issues. The iphone would connect sometimes only to be slow and not connect. The wifi signal would keep being scanned and would go out and come back in. The signal strength also qould keep fluctuation even when near the router. My brothers same andriod device was doing the same thing. My brothers Iphone 5 was doing the same thing when using the different networks. Apple there is a major problem here that needs to be addressed when refering to wifi. Considering most carriers now charge for data it is important that if I have access to all the wifi networks I can connect too. This is a major issue that needs to be resolved and looking at the forums it is not an isolated incident. Recomendations: People who call in with this issue, need to have phones replaced if not able to patch, Since no patch exists at the moment, it would be prudent to offer people who are having trouble a credit towards their wireless bill by working with cell providers and to have apple issue a version of an RMA number. Until the issue is resolved. I have 17 days to return my phone to verizon and I am going to wait to hear back. My girlfriend is in the market for a new phone and we can't have issues with a wifi connection especially when charges are going to ensue if we go over our data. Plus the unavailability of a network in areas my cell provider is not able to help with is important. We as apple users need immediate attention to this matter and it is not a matter of how the phone scans for networks. It is an issue with connectivity and how it is communicating with certain encryptions with the routers. Fix need asap. This issue is also not localized to the Iphone 5 as it is happening on the Ipad 4
Is NFC technology going to be compatible with iPhone 4?
My IP5 intermittently locks up (frozen screen) when the charger cord is plugged in and the battery is charged to 100%. At least, that's the only time I've noticed it. As soon as I remove the charger cord, it works normally again. Anyone else have this problem? I'm wondering if this is a bug that Apple will have to address?
Woke up to find out my iphone had sent out about 30 emails to contacts (not my full contact list - guessing maybe the last 30 contacts that have been either received/sent via email). The web site isn't one I ever remember accessing (which in iteself is weird). http://dcrconsultores.com.br/pbolqlx.pho This is a fairly new phone acquired from my provider TELUS sent directly from TELUS during the inital shipment of iphone 5's last year. I am on the latest IOS 6.0.2....model MD295C....... Any suggestions on how to fix the problem Yes I have a window's PC.....but it was powered off last night when the emails went out from my iphone....also when I checked this morning there were no outgoing emails in Outllook.......
I left my iphone sitting on the dashboard of a taxi and forgot to lift it. As soon as I got out of the taxi, I remembered so I rang the taxi company to get it for me. I also rang the phone and it was turned off, which is strange as two minutes earlier it was on and it had a 80% battery life so I knew something was strange. Suprise suprise the taxi company never found it. I went on to icloud and put the phone (the device was called jacks iphone) in lost mode and tried to track it but it was offline so I could never find it. Now several weeks down the line I went back on to icloud and this mysterious device TonkhawiPhone7_ was in my list of devices. Its an iphone 4 as well. So could this be my iphone and the person who now has it has changed the name of the device? It doesn't appear to allow me to put it in lost mode for some reason. Can apple help me get my iphone back? Thanks for reading
I have a new iphone5. I have it poweredoff and plugged into the wall, but I am not getting any charging icon. Any ideas?.. Bill Steed
Well, apparently Apple doesn't want us to talk about this -- They locked the previous forum I had created after 217 posts and 16k views? I'll assume there is some other Apple Forums rule that I don't know about that would cause them to do that instead of trying to stifle the reporting of this problem? It was clearly generating many posts that show a correlation between IOS6.0.2 and battery issues. To summarize... I was having significant WiFi issues on all my apple products (several Iphone 4's and and Ipad2) with 6.0.1 - all the same issues that have been reported on these forums thousands of times. I was excited to see 6.0.2, hoping it would correct the wifi issues for my iPhone5, at least. Unfortunately, not only did it NOT correct my wifi issues, but now my battery is draining about 5x compared to before. I can barely get through a day of batterly life with minimal usage whereas before 6.0.2 I was easily able to go 2+ days. An apple representative called me today (actually he tried very hard to call me for several days.) I was appreciative of the reachout (saw my other post) and was hopeful they would be willing to help me. The guys was very nice, but it truly felt like he was reading a script and was more interested in getting information from me. The only advice he ad for me was to back up my phone and then reset it to factory settings (like new) without using any of my previous apps, mail, etc. He wanted me to do this "for a day or two" to test it and see if the problem persists. Then, if the problem is gone, we can work together to restore apps/settings one-by-one until we find why the problem is there. In other words, they have no idea what is causing this problem, and they want to use my time to help them figure it out. Ironically, I was able to watch my battery indicator drop several percentage points while I was on the phone with him for about 20 minutes. When he asked if I would do the restore and/or load profile software on my iphone to track my usage, I said no. I shared with him I'm simply out of time and energy -- I have logged over 40 hours trying to debug these wifi issues (I'm somewhat tech savvy and figured I could just plow my way through to a solution with my router/security settings.) When I realized that these issues are all IOS driven, and now the battery issues, I find I've had enough. Maybe I'll go return this Iphone5 and ask for a replacement. However, I'm also seeing other posts saying that did not solve their problems. We are talking about wifi and battery life. This is not new technology. If IOS 6.1 doesn't correct these issues, it's probably time to buy an Android. Please keep posting things directly relevant to BATTERY issues with iPhone5 so that this thread can stay on task and bring to light the correlation between 6.0.2 and the battery. Maybe Apple will care about their loyal customers, acknowledge the issue, and let us know how much longer we should wait for 6.1 to fix the issue before it's too late and they start losing their fan base. No information from Apple is only exasperating the problem.
Around 5am this morning I picked up my phone to look at the time and noticed that it said 'searching.....' where my carrier name should be, normally I get great signal in my home. I didn't think much of it and went back to sleep. When I woke up two hours later it still said 'searching' so I toggled airplane mode with no change. I then powered the phone off with no change, next I did a hard reset by holding the power button and home button till it shut down. Same result. 'searching.......' forever. I then plugged my iPhone into my computer and loaded up itunes, it correctly identified my phone then asked me to backup and update it to 6.0.2 firmware. Thinking that this may clear whatever bug may be affecting the 3g radio I accepted and started the process. The phone backed up without issue (thank goodness) but then as it was about to complete the firmware update it threw a -1 error back. Multiple re-attempts at restoring did not work. The iPhone now just displays the 'connect to itunes' screen. A few minutes of searching revealed that it was most likely a hardware issue. This phone has been babied, kept in a simple, low profile case, never dropped, no moisture whatsoever has touched it. It really ***** that this would happen out of the blue like this. Apple is taking care of me though, with no Apple retail shop anywhere close to me, they offered to cross-ship a new phone to me. I don't mind the hold on my credit card. Should be here just after christmas.
Would like to downgrade my IOS 6.0.1 Software to the IOS 5.1.1 Software. The new IOS for the Iphone is horrible. Too much lagging. Even after a complete restore, upgrade, no apps but the one the Iphone comes with, and just the basic things, my Iphone is horrible in speed, and loading. I have the Iphone 4 gsm model 8GB, and I have had many of them. New, and Refurbished. Performance is all the same. I am willing to pay Apple for a Downgrade in IOS versions, and I know shsh blobs are required, but I understand that Apple has technology that can do many things with their products. I am no fool, and am only requesting something so simple.
Hi- sorry I don't know if this new-ish phone to me is CDMA or GSM (carrier is Sprint/Nextel if that helps). I got this iPhone 4/8Gig "free" a few weeks ago but I'm finding that between the new, wonderous world of apps now open to me, and my existing music library, 8gigs is coming up short. I don't suppose there is any options increase the space in this device, without getting a whole new device? It sure would be great if it at least had a slot for a micro card for extra storage like on my old, crappy, dumb-phone (which I could use as an oversized mp3 player... if I could only find it.) I'm not a big fan of the new 'cloud' based solutions, as they depend on too many variables that are out of my controll, with the probablility of leaving me without my music. Plus, the delay is anoying. My area is lite on the available technology and cell service. Can an iPhone 4 accept additional memory space upgrades?
Problem on getting wifi to switch on Cannot slide the icon across at all Have reset powered down and still not working
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2246056/Woman-takes-picture-mobile-phone -stolen-nightclub-unwittingly-sends-owner.html A woman has unwittingly taken a picture of herself on a stolen iPhone that has then been sent to its rightful owner. With a downloaded app, the owner was able to take a photo of the woman as she tried to unlock the +$400 (£319) mobile phone, as well as map the phone's location after it was stolen from the Coalition nightclub in Brighton, East Sussex earlier this month. The owner, armed with the information and the photo emailed to them by the app, called Sussex Police. The dark-haired woman appeared to be sitting in a car as she tried to access the white iPhone 4. Police said they do not know whether the woman pictured was responsible for the theft but they appealed for her or anyone who recognises her to contact them. Pc Gavin Crute, of Sussex Police, said: ‘The owner of the camera has a rather cool app that takes a picture of anyone who tries to unlock it, maps their current location and then sends all the info back to the owner in an email. ‘We know where and when the photo was taken and it appears to be in a vehicle with quite a large sunroof. ‘We don't know that the woman is the person who stole the camera, but she obviously has had some connection with it in the meantime and I'd like to speak to her about it.’ Anyone with information is asked to call Sussex Police on 101. There are various iPhone apps that track stolen iPhones. It is thought that the app used was iGotYa which is activated when a wrong passcode is entered into the phone keypad. iGotYa is a third-party app, made by Cyndia, which is not available in the official Apple store. It is an alternative to Apple's free Find My iPhone software, which shows a stolen phone's approximate location on a map but does not take a picture of its user. Device Locator costs $2.99 (£1.86) allows the phone owner to track the location of a misplaced iPhone and take a photo which is then sent to a website where the photo can be viewed. This app also allows the user to trigger an audible alarm on the phone. GadgetTrak costs $3.99 (£2.48) can generate location reports, send discreet messages to the device and also take a photo of the thief. The latest statistics reveal 170 iPhones are stolen every day in London, many of them from pedestrians targeted by muggers on bicycles. The wife of Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason recently said she is now too scared to use her phone in public after she was mugged while walking her dogs. Annette Mason had her iPhone snatched from her grasp by a bike-riding hoodie as she was trying to send a text. Okay just who do I gotta convince at Apple to get them to add this to the App Store? Or at least get the feature where a picture, location, date & time is sent back to my email whenever someone enters in the wrong password? I just heard about this story today & taught that's an incredibly beneficial feature to have. Now my iPhones not jailbroken and I really have no interest in jailbreaking so I can't get this app but I would vary much like to see this added to Find My iPhone.
Cannot swipe new iPhone 5 after two days. Password protected so cannot open to sync phone to restore to factory settings, as cannot use touch technology... Any ideas .
So according to this article the only sensor is on the SIM tray but shouldnt it be one in the headphone jack or on the lightning connector?
