Grey spot in iPhone 5 Camera

Hey guys, I recently noticed a grey spot in the lower left corner (portrait) in Camera app (see photos with the spot below). I don't know if I had this before, but haven't noticed it until now. The grey spot only appears in Camera, I cannot see any spots while using iPhone in other ways. Also, if I take a photo, the spot stays there. Most of the times it's not visible, however now that I've discovered, it kinda bothers me.I checked the leans, it's completely clean, unscratched and I do take a lot of care of my iPhone. I also have a case on at all times. Do you have any suggestion for solution or is that a know bug? Should I register a complaint at my carrier (I'm not in US, so warranty is covered by the carriers) or can that be solved by myself (no jailbreaking, please)? Thanks a lot!

So I got my iPhone 5 around Christmas time, and I feel as though I need to start fresh. I want everything to be as good as new. I am absolutely getting frusturated with iCloud right about now. I already put all my pictures on my computer (not connected to iCloud), and my contacts are in a vCard folder on my desktop. I don't have music on my iPhone, and my apps I'd like to keep. How do I back up my iPhone to ONLY my computer... When I tried deleting my iCloud account, it deleted everything (including the contacts that I backed up to ONLY my computer). Long story short... I hate iCloudI want my phone good as newI want my appsI want my contactsI want my text messages if possible.I don't mind resigning into all my email accounts and app accounts. When I do have my iPhone good as new as when I got it, then I will later on ask a question on how iCloud specifically works... with such a tight schedule like mine, it is hard to go to the genius bar and ask all of these questions... iPhone 4s drains fully charged battery within 1 hour after it accidentally plugged into an ipad 3 charger fix

My fully charged iPhone 4s used to last enough for 1 day. Today, I accidentally plugged iPhone into an ipad 3 charger for about 2 hours, then I noticed that it is getting abnormally hot. After this incident, the phone drains battery by decreasing 1% of the battery every minute. I went to see Apple technical support, who tested and said for certain that the problem was the battery (after assuring me that it should be fine to charge iPhone 4s with ipad 3 charger!). After charging me a hefty fee, I left the store, and iphone 4s still drains battery like before. Can my phone be fixed without requiring me to get a new phone? Can I get my money back from Apple techincal support, who gave me a wrong diagosis of my phone?

Hi, I held down the off and home button on my iPhone 4S 64GB and i thought it just turned off but it reset the apps and i still have photos and apps and everything but when i open any social aps it comes up with "connect to iTunes to use push notifications" and also before this event i was using iMessage all the time aswell as texting and now when i use iMessage it doesnt let me send or recieve messages anymore on my iPhone but it does on my ipad and it lets me recieve Texts. I recently got an iPhone 5. Downloaded iTunes 11 and tried to sync my new phone. Once done I looked at my phone to find that all new contacts since October 2012 had been deleted along with any texts I had received and all the photos I had taken on my new phone. Instead I now have all my old photos and apps from my old phone. But nothing newer than October 2012. How can I get the new stuff back on my phone?

iPhone charger won't charge phone but will charge ipad iPhone 4S

I have multiple chargers for both my iPhone and ipad. Every time I need to charge one of them I have to swap adapters AND cords until I find a pair that works.  For example;  my ipad was charging with regular adaptor and cord, but I needed to charge my iPhone.  When I hooked it up to the charger nothing happened. Samething with car chargers. I do see sometimes it will say accessory is not supportd with this device, but why wounldnt it be?  Thats what its made for!  I have like 10 different chargers so it's getting frustrating.  That's enough info, so if u know please help me

iPhone 5 Battery drain when not using Wifi also gets hot.

Recently I have been experiencing problems with my iPhone 5, if I am away from a wifi connection I experience high battery drain & the phone will sometimes get hot.Generally I am in the office or at home & the phone will be connected to a wifi hotspot, however yesterday I was out of the office in meetings etc, I didn’t have access to any wifi so used 3G data, I was in London in areas with generally good 3G coverage.  The battery went from 100% to 0% in 9 hours with what I would call minimal usage as follows.4 minutes worth of calls.25 received emails5 sent emails9 photos taken1 hour streaming music via Bluetooth20 minutes reading from news stand5 minutes in the facebook app5 minutes using the Maps app2 minutes viewing London Tube Map app  This appears to be a problem with the data receiving part of the phone as when I have access to wifi the battery life is generally fine.  I have had iPhones for about 3 years & never had issues like this. Has anyone else experienced similar problems?

Hey,I tried updating my 4s today and my phone got stuck in recovery mode. I have nothing backed up and over a years worth of data on my aps aswell as very important baby photos that I was hoping I wouldnt lose. I have tried holding lock/home a few times and does not work, also I have tried RecBoot with the same outcome. I am getting very worried and cant access my phone. B-Mobile Network Issue iPhone 5

Hello I have done a little research and this appears to be a network wide issue with Data sims on the B-Mobile network. The iPhone does not correctly calculate the strength of the network and thinks it has no signal (even if you really have full signal)  and powers the radios up to max impacting the battery life of the iPhone greatly. I believe this to be because the SIM cannot work as a phone at all the iPhone does not realise this even though the data connection is perfect. Iphone 5 wifi drops every time I stream BT Home Hub router

Ok this is the second iPhone 5  I've had and I'm having the same issue as the one I've just replaced, the phone is dropping the wifi connection whenever anything is streaming, i.e. YouTube, NetFllix, Podcsts etc... Apple support said it may be my router but every other device in the house is fine, ipad 2, iPod Touch my wifes iPhone 4 and my Macbook. My question is could it be an incopatability issue with my BT Home  Hub 2 router and iPhone 5? I've tried all of the troubleshooting suggested by apple support but the issue continues. I've also tried other possibilities from this and other forums and nothing seems to fix the issue. I'm opening a new thread because of the significance of the router which I think my be the problem but have no idea to be honest. I wished I'd kept my old iphone 4 it was solid and the battery life on this new phone is just shocking! Any help or ideas would be appreciated cheers

Hi everyone, I have an interesting situation going on here.  Today, I had my iPhone replaced due to an issue at the Apple store in Las Vegas. I have an ipad in addition to my iPhone. Prior to the replacement, my ipad and iPhone were fully synced in iMessage. Now, however, after setting this up again, I have lost all of my messages on my iPhone. They are still, however, in my ipad. How can I get them to sync back with my iPhone? I also had my iPhone replaced once before, and I believe it synced right back and I didn't have this problem then (although I didn't have the ipad with me at the time, so that is weird); I don't remember how I did it though.  Hoping to get some help with this, thanks in advance!

Full correct steps should be like this : 1) Select a favourite song in iTunes program to be made into Ringtone...-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------2) "Get Info" on that song name and make any 0:30 seconds portion of that song.... (specify "Start" & "Stop" time - under "Options" – to any 30-seconds duration and click OK)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------3) Right-click or Ctrl-Click again on same song name and select "Create AAC Version" to create an .m4a file...(when done iTunes will create a Chime)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------4) to locate the created .m4a file easily, Ctrl-Click again on same song name and select "Show in Finder" from the pop-up list...(iTunes will automatically point the folder location of the original .mp3 & the newly created .m4a files... keep this window open for later...)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------5) change the .m4a file to .m4r as suggested... (rename to whatever you like but you must change the extension to .m4r)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------6) At this point, the m4r(original) file isn't a "Ringtone" file yet... which we'll need to change now...) (check under "Get Info" > "Kind" :  it's still "Apple MPEG-4 Audio")...1st by dragging that newly changed .m4r(ori) file to somewhere out of that same default folder it was created by iTunes... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------{ this is where most confusions occur, take note here, it gets rather complicated }-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------7) Once it's outside of that folder, Double Click the m4r(ori) file and iTunes will play...(u can stop it immediately...) this is just to let iTunes automatically convert that m4r(ori) file into a new duplicate & places it inside the initial default folder where the original .mp3 file is kept... we kept the window open previously, remember? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------8) Locate that duplicate .m4r(new & true) file, in that same .mp3 folder and now DUPLICATE-Drag (press Option while dragging to get the "+" sign) it to the "TONES" folder in your default apple folder structure. (check under "Get Info", this .m4r(new) File's "Kind" should be "Ringtone")//to get to that "TONES" folder : First Locate your iTunes default Music folder in your Mac --> usually it's in your Default "MUSIC" folder --> Navigate to "iTunes Media"  --> Navigate to "Tones". !! Keep this window open to make the transfer manually !!-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------9) Once your duplicate is placed inside the "Tones" folder, double-click on that duplicate .m4r(true) file and let iTunes play, it should automatically place that ringtone file into the "Ringtone" sidebar List in the iTunes program... (check program to see) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------Somehow u needed both duplicates : 1 – inside the default initial .mp3 folder & 1 – inside the Tones folder which we Duplicate+Drag into... and both must be "Ringtone" – Kind... for this to work.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------10) There you go. Now you can Sync / Delete / Add the whole Ringtone contents to your iPhone as you wish. //Don't forget to set SYNC ON under the iphone  "Tones" tab in your iTunes - iPhone screen... and click big SYNC button at the bottom of iTunes program & wait for the magic.( Finally you can check inside your iPhone "Sounds" settings and hopefully if all steps done correctly, the bloodycomplicatedringtone selection will be there. iphone 5 doesnt accept ID password facetime and imessage not working

Im not sure if its to do with the new update 6.1.4 but my imessage suddenly stopped working. I checked my settings and saw that my email addresses associated with it were deleted. I would do hard resets but it wouldnt solve the problem. Then imessage was only partially working, sending imessages to certain individuals and text messages to the others. When i would try to add my email it would say that my password or ID is incorrect. I was thinking, no this could not be. I signed in and out of Itunes with no problem. I even signed on appleid.com and it worked. I tried it on my ipad which worked. I was scratching my brains. so I had an idea, I proceeded to reset network settings......BIG MISTAKE!!! Now, along with my imessage and facetime problems, I cannot connect to my wifi at home. when I enter the password it says it is incorrect. I have also tried entering the wifi manually but to no avail. I connected my iphone to itunes but it wont back up my data saying an error occured but it doesnt specify the error. Iv also noticed that if i press and hold an app, and it starts shaking, the crosses next to the apps that I hav purchased whether it is free or not does not show the 'x' next to them so I cant manually delete an app. What is going on? Is so frustrating because now I have to rely on my data and its depleting fast. Iv booked an appointment with the Genius bar for next week but I am hoping I can sort this out before hand. My first iphone and I was enjoying it up to now, not happy at all!

When I use the search box in the iPhone e-mail program my results are displayed for a few seconds, but then they disappear as if there are no results for my search. When I press the camera icon it shutters and brings me to the home screen! VERY FUSTRATING! Someone said to use iphoto but how does this app for the phone import to the computer? What do I do? Kind Attention Mr. Jonathan Ive and Team ,  I bought my Iphone 5 with mobile carrier in singapore last december .  Earlier I used Iphone 4/4s /ipad and now I phone 5 . I am big addict of apple products , so i went for Iphone 5  Iphone 4s design was amazing with a glassy feel and no chances of scratches on to its design . But I dont feel the same in iphone 5  I am a Mechancial Design Engineer - Design is basically to relate with Customer User Interface and easeness .  But day -day usage of my Iphone 5 is frustrating because the No of white scractches to its side is going on increasing .  Am i suppose to use case always ?  in that case I would have gone for some low end mobiles where nothing happen even i put it down many times . I keep it so safe and now I am in a big frustration on getting Iphone 5 . very bad feel like losing value of money  I kindly request Mr.Johnathan Ive and concern Manufacturing dept to revert me on my issue .  Is this the design and manufacturing capability of APPLE ?  Regardsprabakar

I lost all my pictures from Africa on my phone. It was the first time I plugged my iPhone into my laptop and iTunes was there. I did hit set up new phone but it said your phone has been restored for some reason. Lost all my contacts and photos as I didn't realize set up new phone meant it would do that. I thought it was just setting it up as a new file or whatever since it was new. Didn't know about iCloud at the time so no it wasn't turned on. Is there any way to get them back? Please help  The guy at apple store said to go do this and then if its on there from the date I lost them (6/2/2013 4pm) then the pictures should be there still. I just dont know how to see them or find out if they are still somewhere saved. They are not in my pictures folder or recycle bin.

VNC from iphone to mac without wifi

Hello everyone, I'd like to know if it is possible to VNC from my iphone/ipad to my macbook without wifi? I use real VNC viewer to access my Macbook (which has Real VNC Enterprise Server installed) using my iphone/ipad and it works well when I have Internet. However, I'd also like to be able to control my mac from my iphone in the same fashion when I do not have access to WIFI or wired Internet. I have scoured the net for answers and while there are plenty of links for controlling your iDevice from your Mac, there is seemingly nothing out there that shows you how to do the reverse in the absence of Wifi. I have read about SSH tunneling via a tethered USB connection but have not found any comprehensive instructions as to whether such a method would work to control my Macbook with my iPhone/ipad. I was hoping there would be devices such as receivers plugged into the USB port that would allow this sort of interaction when no Internet is available but haven't come across any. Does anyone know if this can be done? Thanks.

iPhone 5 battery life and speaker issues

Hey guys. Not sure if anyone else is having this issue but firstly. The battery life *****. And really *****. I let phone completely drain at least twice a month. Then fully charge it. Not a huge user but data I know eats it. We are talking literally within two hours of not using it and it will be down to 59%. Didn't expect this off a phone like this. iPhone 4S beats it hands down. Considering going back to it tbh.  Speaker issues are terrible. Tried the music on full pause. Then exit. Then test but still nothing. Rang apple they say its not a fault but why would other people be reporting it.  ipad 4 users. Do you have issues with battery life too? And very slow charge and very quick drain. This is a joke. Nearly a Grands worth of kit and you feel like your using a Nokia 3310.  #annoyed!

I wanted to download pictures from phone to laptop and connected the devices together and it said i needed to upgrade to latest software... now its in recovery mode... would the back up happen without me knowing ? i dont want to loose 750 precious photos ..... anyone know any info ?

Dust under iphone 5 camera lens

Dust has been building up under the camera lens of my iphone 5.  Hasnt been an issue until i started noticing a large faint looking dot in my photos.  Does anyone know if a genius at apple can clean that out?  I want to avoid them just exchanging the device.  Everything else on the phone works fine.  Thanks.

I had recently changed my password on my iphone 5, next time I went to open my phone it wouldn't except the password I thought I had changed it to. Now I'm locked out of my phone and it just says connect to itunes. I connected to my itunes but it won't let me access anything from the phone since its locked and I need my password. Facebook Contact Sync Problem iPhone 3G

Hi, I never had the problem of syncing my Facebook contacts with my iPhone 5 and ipad 2 but recently I turned off my Facebook contact sync on my iphone 5 at Settings>Facebook>Contacts and turned it on later, and immediately I noticed only 41 out of 817 Facebook contacts were synced with my iPhone and I lost all the merge with my existing phone contacts. I tried this on my brother's iPhone 5 and hitted the same problem, he has 747 Facebook contacts synced to his device prior to turning off the sync, and after turning off the sync and turning it on later, only 75 out of 747 contacts were synced to his iPhone 5. I did not dare to further try this on my ipad 2 as I scare it will screw up the contacts I linked on my ipad.  Looks like there is a problem with Facebook contact sync on iOS. Has anyone encountered this problem?  

iPhone 5 won't take charge

So a couple of weeks ago my iphone started acting up. *First the screen froze with the iCloud window open and it wouldn't respond. I couldn't text, call, or pretty much do anything. I fixed that by rebooting my phone by holding the home and power button for 12 seconds. Thanks to this community. **Then, the touch screen began to lag. I would try to unlock my phone or text, and the screen would take a couple of seconds before it would respond. Still does that but not as much. ***Next, the battery icon would not respond. I would plug it in to charge and it would show as charging, but the percentage number was not changing. It doesn't show if it would complete the full charge so I had to estimate the avarage time it used to take before it began to mess up. After I would unplug it, it would take a couple of hours to actually show the correct percentage of the battery. ****NOW - it won't charge at all. I am getting very frustrated and don't know how to fix this. I tried the wall charger, the car charger, my macbook, and even my ipad charger plug and none of them worked. It shows that it is plugged in just not charging. I took advantage of that and backed up my phone to my computer but now what do I do. It's not charging at all.  My next problem is that I can't take it to an Apple Store cause the closest one is 4 hours away so I have to take it to the AT&T store.  Is there anything else I can try before I take it to AT&T. Or what can I expect AT&T to do about it?  Luckily, I bought my iphone less than a year ago so that would mean it's under warranty, correct?  HELP!
