I have an iPhone 5 64 GB running iOS 6.1.4 on AT&T. Over the past ~ three days, have noted that the iPhone randomly "crashes". Could be when I am using an app. Could be when I am making a phone call. Could be when it is simply connected to the power cord and haven't touched it at all. The cycle is as follows: Screen suddenly goes blankThe white Apple logo (which typicaly appears during boot-up) appears for 3 - 5 secondsI hear the "chirp" that normally sounds at the end of boot-upThe iPhone lock lock screen then appears Sometimes, when the phone emerges from lock screen, the brightness is about half of what it was prior. I have not been able to isolate this behavior to a specific set of circumstances. When it occurs during a phone call, the call is interrupted / other party is silenced, but if I swipe at lock screen, the call resumes (the other party notes that I went silent during duration). I have re-started / re-booted the iPhone 15 times. I have cleared all apps from the cache. I have disabled all notifications and location services. I have done a Reset All Settings on iPhone and restored from iCloud. I have done a Restore from iTunes. The problem continues. I would say that this crash cycle occurs about every 30 - 60 minutes. As noted, many times when I'm not even touching / using the iPhone. Have also noted that when not connected to power supply, the iPhone is quite warm, and battery drain is at an accelerated rate of 3x to 4x of "normal", worse than prior iOS 6 related battery issues. Have also tried all the usual battery saving tricks - wifi is off, GPS is off, EQ is off, etc. Any thoughts before I head to the Genius Bar? Thanks! TCF
In my notes, everytime I edit a note, this notification pops up as "Quota - Quota limit reached." and then deletes the current note I'm editing. This is rather frustrating, because I do have some important notes and everytime I go to use it they get deleted after this notification pops up. I did go through my notes and delete a bunch, but there are less that 15 notes and as you can see in the photo this account has 3 and I've definitely had way more in the past. Does the Quota extend to other applications as well?Thanks for the input!
hey there, so i bought my iphone on April 5th and it was working fine up until 2 days ago, my phone started glitching and shutting off by itself. Today it shows up with the input cord on the bottom of the screen and an arrow pointing to the itunes symbol at the top of the screen. When i plug my iphone into the computer it says it needs to be restored, i click "restore iphone", it then loads well but when it makes the final load to turn my phone on, it crashes and says "the iphone "iphone" could not be restored. An unknown error occured" what do i need to do to fix my iphone??????
Following the most recent ios version update, my iPhone 5 completely crapped out and had that little usb symbol on the screen. I called Apple...they walked me through transferring all my almost 3000 photos/videos to my computer (obviously not able to do through iTunes/iCloud when my phone wasn't functioning). I asked if everything else (about 250 apps...no music) would be in the most recent cloud backup which was only a couple hours before the phone crapped out. They said yes. I did the restore and only about 30 of my 250ish apps restored! I never saw all my apps in my iTunes for some reason and all the apps that I can see in my iTunes have been restored. I wasn't at capacity for iCloud storage either because it happened a couple months ago and I bought more storage space. I've only been an iPhone user since Dec 2012 so PLEASE HELP if you can and let me know if there is anymore inof you need from me to help me troubleshoot. PS=I use a good 30-40 of those apps while I'm running experiential marketing campaigns in the field...one of which is a HUGE campaign I'm managing starting tomorrow. I'm toally FREAKING out right now with my apps not all restored even though the restore is complete. PLEASE HELP -super grateful in advance Julia

The speakers are too quiet, so i can't hear music as loud as i could before. I hope somebody can give me an answer, how i have to pass this problems. Hello, Does anyone know where I can find the complete description of all the individual data presented in field Test Mode on an iPhone (via dialing *3001#12345#*)? Yup, I know what the basic decible strength means, but looking to interpret all of the other details. My goal is to find the ideal configuration for a cellular frequency booster/repeater directional antenna and am getting some odd readings so far. The fact that I am in a mountain rural area and have scarce access to two competing cellular towers miles away complicates the task. The field Test Mode data would help refine the direction of the consitantly strongest signal. Peace,Dr. Z.
I ahave an Iphone 4 that belongs to my brother, he was involved in a crash a few days ago and lost his wife, They had just went and spent the day taking pictures with his iphone 4.. The phone worked when we got it but it doesnt now, wont turn on, wont register in itunes cant do anything.... I cant loose these pictures so if there is any advice please let me know. I heard of removing the memorey and frankinstien it to other iphone but as i only have a year of electronics engineering i am not sure of the process. In short please help... He really needs this,
Hi every body! Recently i have noticed that when i want to connect my iphone 5 personal hotspot to my laptop, the moment i plug in the USB cable while the Hotspot is already running on my phone, immidiatly windows crashes. with a bluescreen error. I switched off the hotspot and then connect to my laptop nothing happens and every thing seems normal, but turning on the hotspot is a problem. every time i need to use my personal hotspot i have to reboot my laptop and while its rebooting i connect the USB cable in order to use my personal Hotspot while its ON on the phone. Please Help!
My phone keeps crashing then goes to reboot and restarts, I check crash log and it has crashes called ResetCounter. I restored phone and the crashes happen randomily, nothing else is wrong with phone, have had about a year.
My phone wont vibrate or light up when I get text messages. It also doesn't show up that I have text messages until I unlock the phone. It freezes all the time and programs crash a lot too. Ive taken it to Apple but they didn't do anything ): help!
Hi,I have an iPhone 4 and an iPhone 5, when I did a field test the iPhone 4 shows -65 , and iPhone 5 shows -130 , both placed on a table 50 meters from the tower, both show full bars when converted to show bars and the signals are great , where as the iPhone 4 signal stregnth changes frequently , the ip5 shows -130 through out the day . Is there a problem in my ip5? Both are running iOS 6.1.3! Any ideas?
so it basically says it all up in the title, but my phone keeps freezing and whenever i open apps they freeze and then crash!i dont know if i should get a new phone like get it replaced or if i shoud reset it, or just try and get it fixed, someone help!!thanks! also, whether im connected to wifi or not, my phone is always so slow!! i dont have like any music or photos on it cause i thought that would make it work and it hasnt! i really dont wanna have to reset it!please help!!
Since the ios6.0 update, deleted contacts can't be deleted from the new message case. It is amazing that more people are not aware of the problem and are speaking out about it. As a professor, I have new students whose contacts I input into my iPhone each semester after sending a text mail the contact cannot be deleted from the "new message" cashe. It can be deleted from contacts but remains in the cashe. The only way to delete the cashe is a full restore. Resetting does not even work. Restoring is a horrible way to delete contacts permanently. I have contacted Apple repeatedly. They are aware of the problem but do not seem to be concerned. With each update, I expect the bug to be fixed. I hope to get the attention of Samsung with this. I know they could create another embarrassing ad campaign and Apple will resolve the issue in seconds. Apple is not the great company it used to be.
iphone 4s version 6.1.3 all apps crash. i tried resetting my phone but it does solve the problem. what the fcuk is going on? this has been happening way too often.

After the newest update my email app keeps crashing. When I deleted the account and tried to log back in it would crash and I couldn't log back in. So I tried to restore my Iphone and it fixed some of the other problems I was having however not the email problem. And now it has created a new one, my battery life is bing eaten away far too quickly! If anyone can help please try!!
I have recently jailbroken my ipod, i have installed the localiapstore source and now when i try to purchase some thing from inside the app, it loads then exits the game completely, i have double checked that its on in the settings, it's driving me crazy and i would absolutely love if someone could please help me with this issue, it's crashing everything:(

i use iphone many many years, but i cannot fit full keyboard yet. our chinese like inputting in number keyboard, so we urge to ask for a new input method in iphone! if apple cannot provide it, we all think that Mr.Tim donot understand our chinese and care us... when, when, when?
Hi, I clicked on "update all" apps on my iPhone and since then I am unable to access all the potentially "updated" ones.Normally I would do a restart and update them from my computer, but this time it doesn't help. Even if I delete the app and reinstall it from the computer or iphone it reapears as "installing" and it doesn't work. Restored backup didn't work either. Does anyone has a suggestion how to reset what ever is preventing the iPhone from reinstalling the apps from scratch? Thank you so much,Ludwig
I got an iPhone 5 for Christmas, so around 3 months of having it, my iPhone has recently been having major problems. My phone will randomly crash when doing normal things like on a phone call or on an app. The touching is really really slow and itll freeze for a couple seconds before finally realizing that I hit it. This problem was happening when I had 6.1.2 when this problem started, and now even updated with the most recent 6.1.3, its still happening. Any other 5 users expierencing this? Any ideas on what to do?

Hi,I have 2 iPhone 4s'One is a 32gig one is a 16gig. The 32 gig is on three uk. The 16 gig is on ee (used to be on t-mobile) uk. Both are on iOS 6.1.2 The three uk iPhone works fineThe 16 gig iPhone won't connect to my home wifi network. I restored the phone (discovering that restoring on a pc is a bit of a nightmare), it connected for a short period, then dropped off. Going to the wifi settings the phone is sat searching for a network. I have tried to input the network details manually but that didn't work the phone threw up the error "unable to search for networks" (I think that is what it was!!) I read on the discussions that rebooting the phone in airplane mode may fix it, however I am now unable to turn wifi on! Could it be a network profile that is causing the issues? (I haven't installed any) Not sure if it is the wifi chip, as Bluetooth seems to work. Any help would be much appreciated.
Anyone knows what LTE band is being used in Pullman, WA or Moscow, ID? I believe you can get into field Test Mode by entering *3001#12345#* in your keypad. For Downlink Frequency, it's under UMTS Cell Environment -> UMTS RR info. Not really sure how to convert 4385. Thanks
On an expensive and fancy gadget such as this, something so simple must be an option? I've found apps that I can faff around with for messaging, but not one to change the over all style on my entire phone. Thanks for any input!
i updated the operating system 3 days ago. Since the update the wifi does not work. when you try to turn it on , there is no possibility since the cursor is light grey. then 4 of my applications can no longer be opened , they crash.I called the apple service and i was told that sice my warrenty had expired by 20 days they could no longer help me.!!!!what the f...k.... i install your update and it sends my iphone haywire and now its my fault.The guy did agree with me so he told me to force a new installation and i installed the factory settings. Nothing has changed.... no wifi and the 4 apps crash.Can someone help me or at least give me an explication.My OS is 6.1.2Thanks
Hello, My new iphone 5 for verizon is having some issues. 1. App crash - Almost every app I open, excluding pre loaded will not function. I have to re open the app several times to get it up. after updating to the new IOS last night I have noticed the frequency increase2. Music will not play - for the last week or so, my music players will not function. Pandora or apple music specifically. I load the app, select music and it starts to play and immediatly pauses. I have done soft resets, turned phone on and off and reloaded pandora to test. I am wondering if this is a hardware or software related issue. Any advice on possible fixes would be appriciated. I am thinking I might need to go into apple, but would like to avoid this if possible.
Trouble with new IOS 6.2.1!!! HUGE crash with most of my apps but on top of this... No more music if i don't have head set on the iphone. The slide bar for volume is gone ???? How can i get back to IOS 6.1.1 or 6.0.1
Dear all, Ever since I upgraded my iphone 4s to iOS6 (which apparently in many aspects is a bad decision), I discover my contacts are emptied from time to time. It is apparent in occasions when there are apps needing to access the contact list (with instant messenging apps like Whatsapp, Line etc, or even the Contacts App itself), and once the disappearing happens, I need to wait the contact list updates (downloads) itself with the entries from iCloud. I also believe the same happened in the background when I do not notice it, because I usually set different ringtones for certain people in my contact list, when the list goes empty and is filled again back from icloud, I will lose all ringtone settings. So I believe this irritating bug must be happening few times everyday sometimes without me noticing. I wonder if anyone else is experiencing the same thing, and would like to see if Apple would be able to do something about it. This is annoying because if I input a new contact on my phone through the contact app, when this bug happens, I will definitely lose the newly added entries. So to be safe, now when I need to add a new contact, I have to do it on a computer, accessing icloud.com and add directly to the icloud records. It's the first problem I experienced with my iphone for the years I have used the iphone products, but is also a critically fatal one...
Whenever I try to buy stuff from apps or games, the application just completely crashes. I can't seem to find a reason why this is actually happening. I have been restarting it and still looking for an answer. My next thought is if I should restore the phone? I'm trying to lean away from this idea as I've heard there has been unfortunate consequences to it. If anyone can help, that would be great. Thanks.
Dear Contacts Journal Support Team, Each time i have been trying what you put up for me,i always delete The Application Completely,then go to iTune Apps Store to re-download it. I know the apps store will not give me an old version,that is why i do not use my Mac or iMac to replace the application however this has also been updated on my Macs. I reiterated in my message yesterday that,it is not that what you asked me to do is not working or i did not follow your instructions into details. I did follow every steps you stated. The end result is that, WHEN IT REACHES DATA MIGRATION,THE SCREEN WILL BE BLACK OR LIGHT BLUE BLACK,WITH A WHITE SCROLLING LINE THREAD ON THE DEVICE SCREEN,MEANING MIGRATION IS ABOUT TO TAKE PLACE. THIS WILL MOVE FOR ABOUT 2 or 3SECONDS,AND IT WILL crash. I have tried this several time,i do not mind starting all over again,i just want it to work with iCloud. Have you asked them about this?- your only hope is to restore your device using an iCloud backup, from before you did the Delete All. That might restore your data to a previous state. There is honestly nothing we can do at this point. There's no bug to fix. The problem is you did a Delete All of your iCloud data, without making a backup first. Hello All. Was wondering if anyone could help me with this When I sync my iphone with Itunes on my PC via the USB cable the backup runs first as expected. The sync completes fine and the last backup date is displayed all correctly. If I then leave my iphone connected to my PC via USB as I often do and then sync again it does not run the backup and skips this stage. Thing is I may use my ihpone while it is connected. Maybe recieve a txt or input a calendar event. There is then something to backup so I would therefore expect the iphone to backup again with a sync. So if i run a sync i want it to backup every time no matter what. Im sure it used to backup everytime I ran sync. But now it seems it only does the first time it is connected to my PC. Yes I can click on manual backup and it forces a backup fine but I want it to backup with every time I click sync. My aim here is to sync my phone when first connected then be able to sync at any further point such as when i am about to leave with my phone and know that further backups are all completed. Any help would be great and im sure someone will have a simple answer for me so thanks in advance. AutumnLights

WSJ app was migrated to Newsstand a month or two ago (I didn't do this... one day, like magic, my WSJ app was gone and the WSJ logo appeared in Newsstand). It's never worked for me since it was moved to Newsstand and I'm just getting around to dealing with this now. Some additional details:It is the only thing in my Newsstand app. If I click on Newsstand the phone displays the black screen with grey apple logo (like during start up) for a moment and then I need to enter my password to get back into the phone. Hello, Some background: iMessage and Facetime are not working. Both applications are saying that I am not typing in the correct password for my Apple ID. Needless to say, the applications are wrong and I am using the correct password. Some background: 1) This is an iPhone 5. 2) It is running iOS 6.0.2. 3) I am on Verizon. 4) I am located in the continental US. 5) I have a full e-mail address for my Apple ID username. 6) iMessage and Facetime are both working on my iPad, using the same login information. 7) All other applications that use Apple ID, such as the App Store, are not having this type of log in issue. 8) This issue occurs regardless of whether I am connected to wi-fi or just the mobile carrier, or both. Troubleshooting I have tried to fix this issue: 1) I have changed my Apple ID password. This did not work. 2) I have changed my Apple ID username/email. This did not work. 3) I have played around with Date/Time setting changes. This did not work. 4) I have reset all settings. This did not work. 5) I have tried hard restarts of the phone. This did not work. 6) I have performed a restore from backup of the phone. This did not work. 7) I have performed a full factory restore of the phone. This did not work. Apple Support is at a total loss on how to fix this. I have now had multiple frustrating phone support sessions with them with zero results. If you do some searching, it appears there is no way that anyone knows of to fix this issue once all the troubleshooting I have listed above has failed. People have had to acquire brand new phones in order for these applications to work again. Obviously this is unacceptable. There are a lot of smart people on these forums fixing tech issues like this. Anyone have any input?

iPhone 5 Will not start it just keeps rebooting over and over. Every single time, all it did was initialize and only one time it did display the "Connect to iTunes" screen; by that time, while connected to my macbook pro, an 'Error 9' came up; just after that one time another 'Error 1601' displayed as well. Please, throw in your input into solving this crazy brand new iPhone 5 hardware misbehaving.
Recently my phone started freezing, then it will occasionally crash. I am unable to connect it to my wifi and it will drop calls. I was wondering if I restore it will I oose all my phone numbers I have stored or do they get backed up to itunes?

Thanks for the input. I guess we can say for certain that the carrier is not the issue. I definitely think it's iOS6 or an API issue. Pandora definitely doesn't have the problem. I hope this can be resolved by Apple because waiting on a developer update could take much longer.
