hi guyz i just brought an unlocked verizon iphone 4s and i wanna know is it safe to sync iphone to my pcwithout losing my unlock? idk kno if itz factory or not but i dont have cydia.one thing that scares me tho is that, i know when i sync I'll lose all apps, and it came with an app called APN (unlockit.co.nz)which states when i open it:                      iphone APN changer   this website will set mobile carrier info for dat access when you cannot editor do not kno settings. it dose not jailbreak or carrier unlock iphones click on the icon below to choose what you wish to do. i dont really know if i need this or not but itz another reason i been hesitantto sync my iphone. sorry for sounding like such a noob but i could use somehelp. Thanks

Ok I first noticed this last night when I left my apartments Wi-Fi area, my phone was jailbroken on 6.1 so I thought it might have been a recent update in cydia that caused it, but to make sure, I first tried rebooting my phone, nothing, reset the network settings, nada, then I pulled the sim card and reinstalled it, still nothing, even restoring as a new phone, but still not data or 4G/LTE icon, anyone else have this issue?

i recently broke my iphone´s screen, i could`t use it, because every time i used it i cut myself on the shattered glass so i went to ebay and found one of the cheapest replacement screen i could find ( because i couldn´t afford having someone fixing it, or bying something of better quality). I replaced the screen, everything seemed to be going well, until i found out that the proximity sensor wasn´t working. It is really annoying when i am calling someone or answering a call, because i keep putting them on hold, deactivating the microphone or hanging up accidently. Is there any way to fix this, either actually replacing some hardware (if it doesn´t cost to much) or with a cydia tweak. i apologise for my any mispellings or mistakes, English is not my first language. thanks for your help

Hi guys, this is my first time posting and I am in desperate need of help!I have a jailbroken iphone 4 running 4.0.1 with baseband 1.59.00. It was all good until I had to reboot my iphone, which was where the trouble started. I havent had the chance to back up my shsh and I have just tried putting it in DFU/restore mode but Tinyumbrella wont recognize my iphone. I was wondering is there someway that I can back up my shsh onto my harddrive instead of cydia server and then do a restore in itunes? Is that method possible? Hi,I need to boost the volume of my key click sounds (Im using an iPhone 4 as part of a psychological experiment involving acoustic feedback).Its been no problem to replace the default key click sound (Tock.caf) with my own sounds (e.g. by using cydia and Winterboard in order to quickly load customized sound themes). However, the max volume for key clicks has been quite low since iOS 3.1: As soon as my sound is played back as a key click sound, it gets attenuated. If I play the same sound file over the built-in iPod, its much louder. Amplifying the volume of the sound file before uploading the file to the iPhone does not seem to change anything.Does anybody know where in the iPhone file structure the attenuation takes place? Help Boot Logo Loop Cant Turn Off iPhone 3G

Hi everyone,Ive got a huge problem with my iPhone 3G Im hoping someone here can help me with. I wouldnt say Im technically minded but Ill do my best to explain the problem.All it does is constantly show the apple boot logo, it never actually boots to the springboard. It isnt being recognized by iTunes or the computer. It wont go into DFU or recovery mode, it wont even restart using the power and home key. The only way to get rid of the boot logo is to let it run out of power. I cant SSH into it either, the iPhone doesnt respond to the SSH client.Everything seemed to be working fine. It was running jailbroken 3.1.2, I then upgraded to jailbroken 4.0 which seemed to work okay. I unlocked it successfully and restarted it and all still seemed okay. The problem I think was with an app called APT Backup, because I used it to make a backup list of my cydia apps in 3.1.2 then tried to restore them on firmware 4.0. They appeared to restore okay but after it asked me to restart, thats when the problem started happening.Ive spent hours searching the google for different solutions but Im getting nowhere. I really cant afford to get it fixed by a repair shop so Id REALLY appreciate it if someone could help.Thanks very much,Jason iPhone 3G iOS 4

I've been trying to change the color of the keyboard on my iPhone, however, when I install settings that are specifically designed for that the change never happens. Im using cydia and the changes dont take effect in the select themes tab in winterboard. I'm not using a specific theme, so it should be working. Please help.

Jailbroken 3GS running 3.1.2 freezes with "too much" tethering iPhone

A couple of months ago, I jailbroke my AT&T iPhone running 3.1.2 and activated tethering. Seemed to work great. But after maybe 10 hours of tethered usage, the phone OS locked up and rebooting it left me at a permanent Apple logo. By the time this happened, Apple had released 3.1.3. But I had let cydia store my hash codes, so with considerable effort, I was able to download and restore to 3.1.2, rejailbreak using blackra1n, and restore tethering from that peacefulinsanity site. Twice since then, the same lock up then freeze at the Apple logo has occurred. When I've gone a couple of months without needing to tether, it never fails, but it now "feels like" that after a few hours of tethered use (somewhere between 5-20), it's pretty much guaranteed to lock up and require a full restore (I haven't tried one of the auto-boot recovery fixes yet, but I'm sure that I will get that chance sometime soon if I continue tethering.) Has anyone else experienced this problem, and if so, do you know what's causing it and how to avoid it? Thanks.

How to use non-US iPhone in USA

Ill be traveling in the US for 3 months, but do not want to use my Austria-based Orange providers SIM card because of astronomical roaming charges, especially for data.I asked my provider Orange whether they would officially sim-unlock my iPhone if I prepaid the rest of my 2 years contract (5 months to go) plus the €40 unlock fee, but they declined, saying that Apple does not allow locked iPhones to be unlocked before the 2-year contract is over. ?!?I now have used cydia to jailbrake and and blackra1n to sim-unlock my iPhone (vers. 3.2) : another SIM card now works (although I also experience a sluggish iPhone, but that was even before the jailbrake!!!).My question: What plans (for voice AND data) are available in the USA that do NOT require a long-term contract, but say a monthly fee for as long as you use it? Ok, so Ive researched and asked around a bit and am having a difficult time trying to understand the GPS for the iPhone 3G. My concern is that since I have the unlimited data plan for att, I was told that i could you the GPS (Location Services) for free as long as I stayed away from things such as att navigator. So is this true that I can use location services on Google maps and for picture taking on the phone unlimited with no surprise bills coming my way? If thats the case then I saw a FREE app that is like a pedometer and also uses the phones gps to show how far youve jogged, as long as the app doesnt charge a monthly fee im in the clear to use it absolutely free?And my next question is, since I have a long day at school I use the phone for internet and texting alot which obviously drains the battery quickly so if I were to switch the phone to edge during lectures would this make any impact on the phones battery life? -Thanks for any help provided! iPhone 3G iPhone OS 3.1.2

I jailbroke my phone and installed Winteboard and a lockscreen called Opel OPC, not realizing I was making changes to my lockscreen. Now, my phone is locked and I have no clue how to unlock it. Contact name showing when receiving call but not in missed calls list iPhone

My friend is having a problem on her iPhone 3GS. Whenever she receives calls from people in the phonebook, their names appear with no problem. But if she doesnt answer the call, only the number appears in the missed calls list and not the name.This is occurring on her phone with contacts which are stored with the country code (e.g. +966XXXXXXXXX). In the missed call list, the number appears as 0XXXXXXXXX. I tried to replicate this problem on my phone but I didnt have a problem; names showed up properly on my iPhone when she called me, and even in the missed call list, and her number was also stored with the country code in my phonebook.Both our phones are officially unlocked. I bought mine from Mobily (official iPhone carrier in Saudi Arabia) and she bought hers from Etisalat (one of the official iPhone carriers in UAE, which is also Mobilys parent company) but both have the exact model number. We are both using the same carrier in Saudi Arabia; STC (we can do this because the phones are officially unlocked). We also both synced our contacts to our new iPhones via Google Sync (we both migrated from the Blackberry 8900 Curve).I checked the regional settings on both phones, and we are both using the US settings (since Saudi Arabia isnt one of the available options)The only difference that I found was that she had iPhone OS 3.1.2 and I have iPhone OS 3.1.First of all, how can she fix this issue?Second of all, will I have this problem if I upgraded to 3.1.2?I checked on-line, and it seems that most people install a region-fix via cydia to support their countrys phone number format.
