Viber Editing text hard to impossible-cursor jumps always to end iphone 3G

Hi all, everytime I want to edit text I'm entering into the message box, I'm not able to do it, since the cursor always jumps to the end of the text.This makes it impossible to mark & copy some or all text, as well as rephrasing or correcting typos. The only 'workaround' I found is to keep the finger on the target position (and having the looking glass active) and then type one character (or delete on). I'm a little bit curious since my friend and me are experiencing that issue for a long time now though I found no reference on the net for it yet (except one to a wordpress app). It happens on a 3GS as well as on a 4, at least all 6.* versions of iOS, with the previous (2.3.1) as well as with the current Viber version (3.0.0).Also experienced on iPad (3rd gen, cellular edition) with 6.1.3 / 3.0.0 Any hints or tipps are very welcome! Thanks in advance &cu,-udo

After iOS6 upgrade bluetooth function limited iphone 4S

Hi After upgrading to iOS6 my iphone 4S has problems with my car stereo.  Alpine CDE135BT Before upgrade (5.1.1) I could easily pair my phone with the car stereo. The stereo started playing music as soon as it was connected, and I could pause and change songs trough the car stereo. After update I can only send the sound to my car stereo trough bluetooth. But the ability to change songs and play/pause on the stereo has been lost. What gives? DoAe

iphone 4S-after 6.1.1 update cannot adjust ringer volume and odd music playback behaviour

This is a minor issue that'll probably end up in the hands of some apple tech, but I'm curious to see if anyone else is experiencing this. After updating my phone to 6.1.1, I noticed that occasionally I did not hear anything when playing music through earphones. An attmept to adjust the volume simply displayed the "ringer" icon and no volume meter. When I launch a new song from stopped (not paused), there was no sound or any ability to control it. I unplugged the earphones; the play icon remained, it normally disappears indicating a pause. Plugged back in and music started coming through. Text/Ring tones are still audible; good because I use it as an alarm clock. The phone is behaving as though it were "docked" though the music playback thing is just weird. I haven't tried playing music while it is actually docked yet. Will try a restore tonight after work.

Okay so I'm having problems with my iphone 5 (suprise, suprise). It does things on its own without me doing anything. e.g if I start playing a song of my music or watch a video on youtube, it will suddenly pause on its own then start playing again then pause again or it will rewind or fast forward what ever i'm watching/listening to on its own. it will randomly activate siri on its own without my even touching it. And this doesnt happen every now and then, it happens consistantly while it is on! in fact just now, I set my iphone down on my desk and it just started playing a song on my playlist! this is really frustatrating!!! whatt can I do to solve this? has anyone had any similar problems??

iphone 5 problems with LTE force closing apps siri and closing apps.

I got my iphone 5 about 3 weeks ago, and it ran really smoothly out of the box. I hooked it up to my computer and began to restore from my previous ipod touch backup when I stopped it from syncing. I saw that it completely copying my ipod settings (homescreen and all), so I then changed some of the sync settings (only sync checked items, don't sync movies, etc.) and let the iphone and computer do their thing. When it was done, I had to delete some bookmark apps on the homescreen and all of the pictures iTunes synced over from my old iPod. After I took everything off that I didn't want on the iphone, I redownloaded the apps I wanted, and everything went hunky dory.  Then, I experienced my first problem. The weather app had trouble getting the weather for my current location, and it had nothing to do with the LTE of wifi network. I was able to get the other cities on the app, but it just wouldn't get my current location. It then began to work after a day or so. Either way, it wasn't a big deal to me. Then, a couple of days later, I was trying to call my friend while listening to a song by holding the pause button on the earbuds chord and waking siri up. I heard the noise that siri makes when she wants to listen to you, but then it turned off without letting me talk. This happened 3 or 4 times until I manually turned the screen on and called my friend. I then began to experience apps closing out of nowhere, which is so unlike the iphone 5 because the chip is so fast. I was only running 2 apps in the background and was browsing on facebook when it happened. None of the apps were heavy on RAM, so it made absolutely no sense why it force closed. Apps tend to close about 3-4 times a week. Another problem I just faced today was with the music app. I was listening to a song when it began to skip and studder. When I restarted the song, it didn't happen again, but I noticed that the songs I was listening to were softer than I remembered and began to get louder and quieter without me doing anything. I soft restarted the iphone and they were back to normal. This had nothing to do with the volume, as it was all the way up on the phone. However, the most annoying problem out of all of the issues is with the LTE. The speed is phenominal on Verizon (even faster than my wifi at times), but it sometimes takes a while to turn on when I come from an area where there is no service (in the subway tunnel) into an area with service again. It will take a while to turn on, and sometimes only the 3g comes on, which I then solve by going into settings and toggling the 4g switch off and back on again. However, there will be times where I leave my phone alone on my table for an hour or so. When this happens, the LTE gets stuck in off mode and I will not be able to go on the internet or use siri. It will still say LTE in the status bar, but I will not be able to get any cell service. Siri will say "Siri is unavailable", and making phone calls is also delayed. There is no way to fix it but soft resetting the phone, and everything goes back to normal afterwards. This is a brand new phone with the most up to date ios software. Can this all be the result of me doing a "restore from backup" instead of selecting "set up as new iphone"? Do these problems seem to be problems with the phone itself, or just with the software? I'm thinking it is the software, but I could be wrong.  Are any of these things, or similiar issues, happening to anyone else and did those of you fix it somehow? year-old 4S freezes up--what to iphone

My year-old iphone 4S had given me no trouble until three weeks ago, when it suddenly froze in the Charlotte, NC airport. Didn't respond to screen touch, nor to the Home or top power button. Just as I was about to look for a safety pin or toothpick to do a hard reset, it went black and then rebooted; it behaved fine till today. Suddenly, it froze first when Bluetoothed to my Ford Fusion and it took several attempts to pick up an incomng call. Then a few minutes later during texting--three times. Then during e-mailing, sometimes after typing a character or two; eventually, even when swiping to unlock from the home screen.  It behaved again when I plugged it into the car to recharge.  But I am tired of not knowing whether I can depend on it. I am 11 months from being eligibile to upgrade to a 5. What do I do? What causes it?

Why note duplicate when its updated with information iphone 3G

I noticed this today and I thought it was a duplicate account issue. When I update a note on my Mac, it creates a duplicate entry on my phone. This issue gets worse if I pause and continue the note. For example, I will upated a note, think about additional information I would like to add, continue typing, by this time I now have 3 duplicate notes. Is there a setting Im missing. I should add that I'm syncing notes using ymail. I could switch to iCloud but would really like to know what is causing this issue. Regards.

iphone keeps automatically playing paused songs at end of calls.

I have an iphone 4, iOS 6. I often use it to listen to podcasts in the podcast app. I will pause these, then return to them later. Whenever I speak on the phone (this has happened both receiving and making calls), when I hang up it automatically unpauses the podcast and starts playing it. This occurs in situations where I hadn't been previously listening to the podcast so it's super annoying to hear a loud voice pop out of my iphone speakers for no reason, and a hassle to get over to the podcasts app to make it stop. I don't know whether this is an issue with the podcasts app or with my phone (maybe the new iOS?) Has anyone else had this problem?

Questions regarding bluetooth audio receiver iphone

iphone 5 dialer can not successfully dial numbers after a programmed pause.  The speed at which the dialer attempts to dial the remaining numbers is too slow to complete the sequence before the phone system kicks it out  Does anyone else have a similar problem?  Have never had a phone with this kind of problem, even the cheapest of phones.  Typical "storred" phone dialing sequence is 999 5551212,5555,6666.  Phone should dial the 5551212 number, wait for a tone, dial the "5555", wait for a tone, then dial the "6666".  My phone will dial the 5551212 number, pause, then start dialing the 5555 , but only 1 number about every 10-15 seconds.  The receiving device typicall kickes out long before the secondary strings are dialed

Same here. Brand new iphone.  Tried programing my work phone number with a wait, then playing out the rest of the sequence, including the voicemail password, automatically, with pauses between the needed steps.   Then I tried removing the pauses to speed it up; that might have helped some, but did not entirely solve the problem.   (This used to work seamlessly on my Palm device). The weird thing is that the iphone seems actually to be getting into my voicemail without its having completed the sequence (as if the voicemail system is hearing numbers from it that I have not yet; it seems even to have heard the password before I hear the numbers typed), but then it keeps slowly playing out the rest of the numbers I've programmed in over my efforts to listen to my messages and work the system using the appropriate keys for playing, saving, deleting.  The numbers seem to have a several-second pause between them, though no such pause is programmed. Argh.

One app I use that connects to an online service requires me to re-enter my password every so often. The keyboard I'm presented with is not the standard virtual keyboard, it is a much smaller version with a limited character set. After upgrading to iOS6 this limited virtual keyboard has changed and no longer has a " (double quote), this is a problem for me as I had one in my password! I've tried changing keyboard profiles but nothing so far has made a difference. Anyone know how I can type a " into this limited keyboard?

This past week I just bought a pair of ibeats from Monster. So far I'm allowed to use the pause/play button, but not the volume buttons. As for making calls or using the mic I havent had the opportunity yet. I was really hoping to use these on my runs, but I''m very saddened that I'm not able to use all the functions on the headphones. So I was wondering if there will be any update for the iphone that will allow this? Maybe with the next OS (Currently running 5.1.1)

I have had this problem many times. My headset will get wet, and then it will start to bring up Siri, or play and pause sporadic music, basically not functional. It only happens with this one headset, I want a way to just be able to turn the control off manually. is there a way to disable the mic control switch without jailbreaking so that it is not there to the computer?  Other than that, the headphones work perfect. The only problem is with the control mic sporadically doing strange things. I want to just disable it. Is there a way to do that?

I've been having trouble sending photos through iMessage on my iphone 4S while wifi is enabled since yesterday, 24 August. Camera Plus on iphone 4

(i haven't got the camera plus pro, just the free version of camera plus) I haven't had any problem with the camera plus up until now... I've realised that all the videos i have taken i cannot delete.. move.. upload onto any social networking sites.. or even transfer onto my computer. I'm completely stuck! I have searched everywhere on the internet and all I can find is about camera plus pro, which isn't what ive got. I really want to upload and delete some of these videos, please please please can somebody help me! (There isn't any icons to press anything, the only thing you can do is watch and pause the video. iMessage on my iphone 4S only works when I am connected to WIFI

I can only use iMessage on my AT&T iphone 4S when I am connected to WIFI.  If I attempt to send when connected over cell (HSPA+/"4G") I get a long pause while the phone tries to send the message and eventually an error message saying that the message could not be sent.  At that point I can send as SMS.  Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks.

Touchscreen and Accelerometer Issues iphone 4S

Hi guys, Need your help and some thoughts around a couple of issues. I've got an iphone 4S which is still under warranty (through Vodafone contract). From Day 1 I've been facing these issues, but never really took it seriously (thinking Apple products can never be defective!!):a. While playing certain games, the touchscreen often goes unresponsive. Example Fifia Manager, Fifa 12, and Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Lite.b. The accelerometer also seems to be having some issues. When I play games like Lane Splitter or Temple Run and when I tilt the phone towards right to move the bike/character towards the right, it goes left and vice-versa. Have been through a couple of troublehshooting steps, but not sure if the above issues are hardware related or software related. Troubleshooting steps:a. Restarted the phone (all the above games work well for a couple of days and then the issue pops up again)b. Reset all settingsc. Uninstalled and re-installed the above gamesd. I have an iphone 4 16 gb black and since updating to ios 5.11 the phone has been running above normal temperature and has severe battery drain (10 mins - 1%) on standby mode. calendar app not launch safari or phone dialer iphone

hi allI am having a wierd problem with my iphone 4. I had to recently restore from my backup and ever since I am unable to click on any URL or Phone# within the notes section of the calendar entry! It would not launch Safari to open the URL or launch phone dialer to dial the number!The URL and number are formatted correctly. These appointments/calender entries are sent by other people to me which I had accepted earlier before the restore. It used to be running just fine and this anomaly started all of a sudden now. When I pause for 1-2 seconds on the hyperlink it does present me the option prompt to open the URL in Safari or to Copy the URL. Selecting the option to open in Safari does not do anything and the option prompt closes. When I pause for 1-2 seconds on the phone number, it does present me the option prompt to dial/copy/etc... and selecting "call xxx-xxx-xxxx' option actually flickers a bit, shows the prompt again and then switches to the phone dialer. But this is so annoying that it wouldn't recognize single short touch to open the phone dialer immediately!Anyone seen this behavior? any solution or workarounds?I have restored my phone twice now & synched it up many times but this issue still remains.Please help!!

I hope this may help some peeps on here, it has worked for me,  we use a remote dialling code to divert our office landlines to mobiles, we have had awful trouble with the iphones in doing this with the number stored as a contact, We also have trouble dialling the number direct from the keypad it still comes up with error and says the number has not been recognised. I have managed to sort out how to remedy this for us on this end and i will give an example below, the 'p' represents a pause (numbers changed for security) original phonebook contact stored, please notice the pauses 'p' only the first single pause 01223495684p*65*4530*01223456456*07555456456# the new number now stored in the phonebook with the extra pauses 'p' 01223495684pp*65p*4530p*01223456456p*07555456456#  as you can see we dial a landline number and then give a pause for the next tone to cut in, then we enter the overall divert code, after this we enter the pin code followed by the landline number to divert and finally the mobile number that will be taking the calls and finishing off with hash. all our other phones except the iphone will dial this number and work correctly with one pause at the beginning, I have now tried thios with two pauses at the beginning and one pause between each section and it now works fine, This has cured our problem using the io5 iphones 4s. we could not dial these numbers with the iphones for nothing, all other phones work fine. When you have a bluetooth headset connected the problem is even worse. this has cured our problem and hope this helps you all also

I'm running across this issue which might be difficult to explain so bear with me. When I send text messages to people who don't have a smartphone/iphone, if the last word of the text appears on it's own line within my message box then it will send that last word to the recipeint as a separate text message. it does this even if the text is really short and definitely hasn't reached the 140/160 character count max. I'm not sure if this occurs with those that have smartphones. Does anyone know if there is a setting I'm missing/could change to get this to stop? My fiance is getting really annoyed with it.  Thanks!

My iphone 4S with the latest iOS 5.1.1 (and previous 5.1) will not properly type a "t" in portrait mode. All I can get are the neighboring "r" and " y" in either lowercase or uppercase. The only way I can get the "t" is to turn my finger to 90º and hit the field at the very top, which works only occasionally. I think it's a defect in the touch screen. Any app that allows landscape mode will permit "t" and any other character to be typed easily. Any suggestions?

Why can t iphone dial an extension from an email

If I receive an email or appointment with a phone number in the format of 123-456-7890 x123, it will allow me to click it to dial but then just dials all the numbers.  It should pause at the extension and wait to dial it until i click to do so.  My older Blackberry had no issue performing this task.  Seems like a major programming oversite on Apple's end.

iphone 4S 16GB on Sprint splitting SMS in two. I am not hitting 160 character limit.

When I send SMS to some people in my contacts, they report that they will recieve the main message, and one more message after that with the last word from the main message. Example: If I send the message: Hey how's it going dude? Wanna meet up for some some drinks and get crazy? The message will arrive like this: (Message 1) Hey how's it going dude? Wanna meet up for some some drinks and get (Message 2) crazy? The messages I send are usually well under the 160 character limit for CDMA networks. Has anyone else experienced this? I called Sprint and they said they know nothing of it, and that I should contact Apple about it. Possibly a phone reset might fix it I think, but just curious if anyone else has had this happen. Most people don't care, but a few of my friends don't have unlimited SMS or are on pre-paid plans. Thanks for any insight! /Tyler 

touchscreen response issues iphone 4S

Greetings and thanks in advance for any critical comments or suggestions.   My iphone 4S (AT&T) 16GB has a touchscreen issue where it will animate the selected character (or app icon or other button), but when I remove my finger, the selection is ignored. I have to exert a very focused and forceful tap in order to select characters to create notes or type phone numbers or switch screens. No particular region on the screen seems more or less sensitive than any other--it's homogeneously sluggish. Here's a strange analogy: it feels like the touchscreen is "too thick" or insensitive to complete the selection, even though it has enough sensitivity to perform the initial selection presentation. Restarting the phone has no effect. I can improve performance a little by resetting the phone [simultaneously pressing the home and top buttons for 10 seconds], but the improvement doesn't last very long--I don't have metrics on duration.  I was "learning to live with it" until we got our iPad (3rd Gen)--the touch screen is sensitive enough that I almost think its reacting write from my thoughts. My husband has an iphone 4 that is fine--initially he didn't believe me, but has recently used my phone enough to push me to get help.  Unfortunately, my Apple phone support has expired.   I've had this iphone since December 2011 and it's had this touchscreen issue right out of the box. The Apple Genius who completed the setup and purchase transaction said the device was operating normally when I questioned the sensitivity of the device he was selling me.  I should have been more assertive, but I believed it would get better--must have been the happy gas in the Apple Store...  ;-) I hate to make a trip to the closest Apple Store (~20 miles), if this issue is within "nominal operating characteristics".   Thoughts? ~Donna

Why won't MP4s play after iOS 5.1 update iphone 4

I updated my iphone to iOS 5.1 yesterday, and since then I haven't been able to listen to any MP4 files. It's bizarre and really frustrating, because this has never been an issue with any other iOS versions and about half of my music library is in this format.  Whenever I tap a song to play, it goes to the "Now Playing" screen, the play button flashes to a pause button (meaning it's playing), and then it immediately flashes back to a play button. It does this for all MP4 files.  Anyone experienced this? Have any idea how to fix it? I have deleted and then restored all the music on my phone, I have restored from backup twice, and then this morning I restored as new and individually placed each MP4 song onto the iphone. None of this has fixed anything.

I just updated my iphone 4s to iOS 5.1 yesterday, and now I noticed that the volume control buttons on the earphone are not working. I can still listen to music and the pause button is still working. Is it caused by the update? Anyone else has the same problem? Hope someone can help me out. Thanks

iOS 5.1 bugs iphone 4

Just downloaded and installed iOS 5.1 using the software update you get with ios 5.0.1 before I did looked to see what the updates are! The update I noticed from 5.0.1 was if you double tapped home botton when locked you could click into camera in the bottom right. Now in update 5.1 you can access camera with one click of home botton but there a problem every time I go to click this botton being if I double tapped or single tapped it fails to open it try's too then fails to open! Next bug before is I can no longer scan into podcasts I can only play/pause/skip and view song details I can't see anywhere I can scan into a song? Considering these are ment to be fixes they have Infact just made it worse!! Anyone else got these same bugs?

iphone Music Alphabetical Sorting Glitch

Hi,  I have an iphone 4S on Verizon running iOS 5.0.1. My problem is that my music does not match the assigned alphabetical listing which makes it very difficult to sort through 200 Artists when I cannot use the sidebar to skip to a specific character. It also becomes a problem because it does not list all of my artists at the end of the list. If I wanted to listen to ZZ Top who would be at the very end of the Artist List on my iphone, I can't without searching for him because the sorting ends at the T's. I have inserted some screen captures to help with any troubleshooting.  Obviously I know that the songs do exist in the library, if I were to search for ZZ Top it would successfully find him and I could play and song I wanted.  I have organized the iTunes Library by clicking on File - Library - Organize..., I have put the iphone into DFU mode and restored from an iCloud Backup then synced the music from my PC, and I have also put the iphone into DFU mode and setup as a new iphone - All to no avail, it still does the same thing.  It is not an issue with Sort by Album Artist as the library successfully syncs to my iPod Touch (4th Gen) which runs iOS 5.0 I use iTunes 10.5.2.11 on a Samsung Laptop running Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit. I have had the same issues with my old laptop which was recently replaced - it was running iTunes 10.5.x on an HP 64 Bit Windows 7 Home.

iMessage slow on WiFi-fast on 3G iphone

My wife's iphone 4S is having an odd issue.  Whenever she has WiFi on her iMessage is slow or fails on outbound messages and people sending to her also have problems.  If it is a picture it will often fail or take 5-10 minutes to send or receive.  If she turns WiFi off, it works fine.  I would blame the particular WiFi network but it is the same on 4 different WiFi networks she uses - home, 2 different work, and mothers.  At its best on WiFi I will send her an iMessage or she will send one and the send bar moves near the end and then pauses for 10 seconds.  On 3G there is no pause. I have tried:restartingairplane mode on and offNetwork Settings resetturning iMessage on and off My iphone does not have this issue on the same wifi network. Does anyone have any ideas before I try a full restore? thank you in advance
