iPhone 5 Rear Microphone

Hello, There appears to be an issue with my iPhone 5's rear camera microphone. When recording video it causes white noise and I can barely hear any audio at all. To diagnose the fault I phoned myself and put music on. I could hear the music fine without loudspeaker, I then switched on loudspeaker while the screen was facing upwards (to test the front facing mic) and it was fine, once I turned the phone upside down, the audio cut out. To ensure that my desk wasn't just blocking my front facing mic, I switched loudspeaker off and then turned it back to face up, then again to face down and then switched loudspeaker back on. Unfortunately it confirmed that was the fault. I have recorded voice memos and front facing videos with no issue, but when using the rear camera I still have the same fault. I have cleaned out the small opening for the mic and haven't caused my phone any damage, so I can't understand why this would happen? Has anyone else had this issue? Will I have to have my entire phone replaced, the whole rear camera or just the microphone? Are there any fixes I can perform myself? Thanks,Ross

My phone won't power on. I tried holding down the power & home button for minutes at a time.  Tried charging with multiple charges from multiple outlets and sources. The apple advice is telling me to upgrade the software on my phone.  How am I supposed to do this if the phone won't turn on?  Am I missing something here?

i dont know why my phone does this. it doesnt happen that frquently, i just had this phone like about a week ago. its like scan lines at the bottom of the screen.  it happens where the lock screen is, at the sliding unlock thingy. does anyone know how to fix this?? it happens when its cold.

I have an iPhone 5 still within the 1 year warranty. It has a small crack on the top right of the phone, which doesn't have any effect on the screen or touch capabilities. However, the phone also has a faulty camera and lock button. What I am wondering is, does the fact that the screen is cracked affect the ability to get a warranty replacement for the other two problems? Thanks!

Which uses most battery on standby 2G wifi or just wifi iPhone 5

Hello, Which mode uses most battery when the phone is on standby and on a wifi network and has 2G (EDGE) coverage.. 2G+wifi or just wifi? I believe it is 2G+wifi because when you put your phone to sleep, it turns off wifi leaving push connected through 2G which consumes very low power. If I have only wifi enabled, the phone can't turn off wifi otherwise it'd lose the push connection. Thanks.

Iphone 5 Screen Damage Replacement

Hi, I bought factory unlocked Iphone 5 from US in Dec 2012. I came back to India few days ago and accidently iphone's screen got damaged.The phone is under limited hardware warranty with no extra apple care plan. I talked to Apple care in India and they say they cannot replace my damaged phone even if I pay to them Can you please let me know the procedure as on how shall i get my damaged Iphone5 replaced , can i ship it to directly to Apple or do I need to ship it to some of my friend in US or do I have to follow some other procedure? Please suggest. Thanks,Rahul

My phone won't send picture messages to any phone other than an iPhone and when I googled it, the solution was to restore it.So I did. Downloading the software itself took nearly 3 hours, but whatever. My phone restarted, but now the bar is stuck at ~3/4 done and it's on "restoring firmware". It's been this way for over 20min. I use iTunes 11.0 and Windows 7.Can anyone help me out? Would it be bad to reboot my computer at this stage?

Hi there, I've suffering from a call receving problem which is - Example -  I have a contact saved at my phone "Mr. A" - 01619001234 [country code not present]But when i got call then it comes for - +88 01619001234, so its not showing Mr. A is calling. There are some numbers on my contact which contains country code (+88) and some of them not. So, how can i add country code number to each phone number while country code not present? Like -  Mr. A - 0161 900 1234Mr. B - +88 0161 900 4321Mr. C - +21 897 456 212Mr. D - 02 723456 91 I want those number like this -  Mr. A - +88 0161 900 1234 - will add country codeMr. B - +88 0161 900 4321 - will remain same as country code present and starts with + signMr. C - +21 897 456 212 - will remain same as country code present and starts with + signMr. D - +88 02 723456 91 - will add country code I hope i am clear to you. I'm planning on buying the iphone 5 because I have an upgrade available. I have never owned an iphone before, but I do have an 2gn ipod which has 8 gbs and has 2 apps and have used 5.5 of my 6.84 gbs available with songs(1175 songs). I have also have 30 photos, and have 1.5 gbs left to fill. If I do get the iphone 5 I will not put music on it, because I have my ipod. I would like to have a lot of apps though, because I like to test them out, and give reviews on them. I have a fair amount of photos in my current phone(around 400), but the camera quality is not that good, and I think because the iphone 5 have a lot more gbs than my current one that I will want to take more than I usually do(although I would probably upload them onto my computer and delete the originals off my phone). I don't have that many contacts and I have a tablet where I play my games and movies on, so that is not an issue. I know this is a bit long but I really want to make the right choice because I plan on having this phone until my next upgrade which is in 2 years. I want to know if 16gbs should be enough or if should I go with the 32gbs? OR if I should just wait for the newer version to come out, and if this is worth to buy. I would also would like to know what the perks and downsides are too. Thank you for your patience and time.

Dear sir I am Apple supporter since 3G. And currently I am holding iPhone 5 for less than 6 months. Recently I found that when I shake the phone, i can hear there are particle inside my phone. I went to Digi (mobile service provider).  They can replace me a re-conditioned unit which I think it is not right. 299.00 damage fee b.s. iPhone 4

I received a refurbished iPhone 4 under the 1year apple warranty. My home/power button became stuck, so I went to the vzw store and was told that it was a manufacture defect. I received refurbished phone and sent other phone back. I got my bill and now they charging 299.00 for a damage fee, WHY???My phone has never been out of its case and I know it's not my fault that the button got stuck. I know I'm not paying for no damage fee when the damage had nothing to do with me! Guess ill find new phone carrier cause this is a big boat load of b.s,!!!!!

iPhone 5 home button issue.

Back in November, I got my iPhone 5, and the day got it without even touching the home button, it was slightly pushed in, and by that I mean the home button slightly sinks in & It really bothers me. It was new brand out of the package, do you think if I will to the Apple store they would be able to help me? My friend also has an iPhone 5 and hers is perfectly inline with the rest of the ahardware on the bottom of the phone. Hopefully this makes sence. Help please me!

I got Iphone5 to give gift to my mom on motherday i bought it from online i have also proof of purchase i go to apple store to book an oppoitment in regent street but i find the guy who treat me very badly first he too my phone go inside the lab after 20 minutes he com back and ask me proof of purchase i showed him after he told me can you come tomrrow we will fix it it will take time i said to him keep my phone for fixation and give me one paper as a receipt after he replied me we will fix it now please wait for 20minutes i said ok after 20 minutes he came back and said we can not fix this because you dont have proof of purchase i said i show you early but he said we dont accept that we cant deal with you.It seems may i criminal the way he treat me or something else i am shocked because next to me there is a lady and she is attractive as well one of apple employe treat such a nice way i feel happy the way he treats him she brings her sister phone the Apple employe change her phone straight way but in my case they ignore me.I dont know what is wrong with me because the way he treats me just ignoring me...i book oppoitment as name of(sazzad ahmed) at regent street time was 8.50 i cant remember the name of your employe because i was shocked the way of him to treat me such a worse thing for me in my life.Every time we preffer apple product because of his warranty services.please do something for me i am lso feeling ashamed this phone was a gift .

I have a problem with my iphone 5. The home button is not working and I don't have an insurance. I bought this iphone at the apple store. Are they gonna replace my phone?

iPhone 5 home button

A family member and I swapped iPhone 5's a few days ago, and even before we switched I noticed that their home button was creaking when you applied some pressure to it. Not necessarily pressing down on it to wake up the screen or anything like that. Also, when i do fully press down on it, it feels inconsistent and makes those creaking noises. The phone was purchased in January so it's well within the standard 1 year warranty. Is this a problem any of you have experienced? I would like to know if this is worth going to the apple store for or just learning to live with. Thank you!

HiI have an Iphone 5 and last night it just turned off while I was asleep so I charged and it turned and it worked but then turns off suddenly so i plugged it again for houers and it just got stuck on the silver apple so I pressed the button on the top right and the home button and it worked againbut while I was in a call it turned off and now it doesnt turn on so I tried to restore it and my itunes says there's a 2001 error and i already checked and my itunes and mac updetes are the latest ones what else can I do? Do I need a new phone?thanks

iPhone 5 camera problem

I just bought my iphone 5 one month ago then i realise my camera was not functioning, It always stuck in black screen when i try open the camera apps. I found out there are actually many people who bought iphone 5 suffered this problem when i try to look for resolution online. I want to go for warranty but my phone got dent on it's appearance. Therefore, apple told me that my phone was unable to warranty. However, my purpose to warranty is to fix the camera instead of the dent on my phone. Can apple fix my camera problem? I really feel sad and regret for purchase the phone now because of the problem i am facing now.  Hopefully apple can give me a satisfied answer. iPhone 4s Wifi problem, After using the device of 7 month. wifi is not working. BEFORE WAS WORKING FINE and now wifi is not able to identify. I tried all the possibilities to fix the wifi, such as resetting network, restart the phone, restore from iTune and setup as new phone, but the problem remain same. turning on the wifi can't recognise any network. any other idiea to fix the wifi of iPhone. LOST CONTACTS updated iOS 6.1.3. HELP iPhone 4S

I have just started to update the latest iOS 6.1.3 and my wifi disconnected and all of my contacts have been deleted. My phone has not updated to ios 6.1.3 as wifi stopped working. I have never backed up on iTunes on a computer, I always download everything directly from wifi onto my iPhone. Can I get my contacts back? If I can, how? Please help!!

iPhone 4s stuck in recovery mode. Error code-1 .

I recently bought my iPhone 4s from a guy (who bought it from someone else). He sold it to me pretty cheap because when he bought it, one of his friends tried to restore it for him and it got stuck in recovery mode. I have no idea if the phone has ever been "tampered with" or not. He didn't seem to know much about it (said it was his first smartphone) and I thought I might have a chance of fixing it. I'm starting to lose faith in that...I've tried almost everything I can find. I know there are tricks for this all over the internet and I've tried almost all of them. TinyUmbrella does nothing, Redsn0w won't even install on my computer (frustrating!). Trying to restore from iTunes is useless. It gets to about 90% then comes up with error code (-1) and gives up. I've tried that route probably 20 times with no change. I know I could take it into Apple and they could look at it, but I have no information on the phone itself. I cannot get the serial number. Does anyone have any suggestions at all? I'll try anything that doesn't require me taking it to Apple and getting charged more than I paid for the phone to fix it....I run Windows 7. Thanks so much!

I bought an iPhone 4 locked to Orange UK why can't it be unlocked

I contacted Orange UK and they said that this iPhone4 is ready to be unlocked, but they can't unlock the phone  because I am not the original contract owner. Why can't Apple unlock this phone, because the original owner doesn't care and has sold it? As far as I understand, I am one of at least 3 owners for this phone. I guess there could be more. I just wanted to have a normal iPhone, why can't Apple help on this issue?  I have previously had many apple products, this is the first one I bought used adn just wanted to restore it to normal. Another thing is that 3rd party services can unlock it for 200$. What is that they do to unlock it? Why can't apple make a small comission for unlcoking iPhones instead. hey! i upgraded to an iphone 5 in october 2012. ive always had the iphones and never had a problem with them before. however, this phone has decided it no longer wants to charge, at first i thought it was the usb so i brought a new one for it. but it didnt charge it either. i have tried using different sockets ive even used my dockinstation but nothing works. the phone is all up to date and shows a message stating 'this accessory is not meant for charging' , anyone else having the same problem?

Something inside my phone moves and it is loud. I was told it was something with the hardware and it could be a lose battery. Has anyone else had this problem. This phone was replaced a month ago for another type of problem so there should be nothing wrong with it since the new phone came from an apple store.

I have lost count of how many times I have been away from my office, looked down at my phone, saw anywhere between 10-30% battery life, and then a few minutes later have my phone go into shutdown mode.  This is absolutely RIDICULOUS and it needs to be fixed now!   Has anyone from Apple responded to this? Any kind of timeline in place for 6.1.5? Any help or information would be greatly appreciated. This is driving me crazy! I'm tethered to my charger!!!  Thanks!@dolfer

IPhone 5 Auto Brightness Switch Not Working

So I just upgraded my iPhone 4 to an iPhone 5 literally yesterday. Strange lil bugs I get, but... This is just freaking me out.  The phone had NO charge whatsoever when I opened it yesterday and tried to turn it on. Usually I get an iPhone and its at almost full charge. Then the Brightness was already dimmed to almost nothing rather than being in the middle. I adjust the slider to light it up more and then hit the switch for Auto-Adjust Brightness... Nothing changed. At all. There's no brightness difference whether I have Auto-Adjust set to On or Off, and it's kinda hurting my eyes. Pleeeease tell me I didn't get sold a Refurbished iPhone 5 as a New one at the Apple Store?!

I brought an iphone 5 as soon as they come out, realised yestoday  when I took it out the case to clean it that it's bent near the volume  buttons!!I rang local apple store and booked in to see a genius about this, just wondering if anybody else has had the same problem.. How do I change my app store from the US store to another country's store? I changed my app store to the US store quite easily. The phone showed a pop up window that made that simple to do. Now it seems I can't reverse it or I can't remember what I did the first time to change it. My apps are now not updating because it says I am in the wrong store. Does anyone know what to do?
