Hello there, I live in Israel, the iPhone bought in the United States.Device Model: A1428 iPhone 5Two days ago, internal speaker suddenly stopped working. I can not hear music or hear ringing through it.When I turned to my carrier, in order that they will help me replace the malfunctioning speaker (device is still under the one year manufacturer's warranty) they told me that since this model is not sold in Israel, they can not fix it for me, and because we don't have an apple-store in Israel, I can't do nothing I'd be happy if you could advise me what to do ( I want to use the manufacturer warranty that I deserve) Thanks for the help Itay.s

Hello Dear Sir/Madam, I want to ask a question about my broken iphone 5 screen. Unfortunately, I could not find a discussion title about that topic. The subject is that I want to change my broken iphone 5 with a new one paying $220 and giving back to you mine. And my question is what am I required to do that in any apple store in US. Could you give me the details about like do I need to give back my iphone as the way I bought it I mean with all iphone stuff like charger and headphone.. etc. And the additional and important question is here, I need an official paper written by Apple, which says that the old iphone is changed with the new one (indicating the IMEI numbers of both) to use it in my country legally, because I have already payed tax amount for the old one and I registered with the old one so to make the new one active. In my country, then legislations say that each person has a right to register only one mobile phone in 2 years; so I need to prove that the old one is given to back to your side. Is that possible? If you can answer my all questions as soon as possible I will be glad becuase I will be in New York in a few weeks so I need to learn all details about the topic to be prepared. Thank you.
Whenever I use facetime, the other party wouldn't be able to hear me after a few seconds/minutes. However, if I use my headphones, they can hear me properly.I think there's a glitch on my mic. Please help me
Hi, I am new to this forum so i apologise in advance for not following any rules thats set. I have a Iphone 5, 16 GB for 6 months and for the past month or so i've been having issues with the microphone. 1. During a call if i want to use loudspeaker the mic cuts out so the person on the other end can not hear what i am saying, yet while during a call off loudspeaker they can hear me fine. 2. Siri can not detect anything i say or any noise what so ever when i try to use siri, but can when using a headset. 3. When trying to use voice to text in messages no speech is detected. When using a headset under all three of these, they work fine, calling someone works fine aslong as i don't use loudspeaker.i have tried to restore the phone to see if this corrects the problems but no luck. The firmware version is 6.1.4, on EE 4G. Any help with this is appriciated. Tyler.
I dropped my phone into the toilet. I got it out as quickly as possible, but it did get submerged. When I got it out, the screen turned on by itself, but I didn't think much of it, and I stuck it in rice for a few hours. When I went to check on it, it seemed fine, as the screen turned on and all the buttons seemed to be working, other than being slightly laggy. The volume buttons worked, but the didn't seem to do anything to the volume. The speakers worked as well, and even the vibrating part did. the lagging didn't get any better though, so I decided to see if reseting it would work. It turned off fine, and the apple symbol came up, but that was where it stopped, and it now will not turn on. I checked the LCI in the headphone jack and the charging slot, and the one in the headphone jack has a tiny pinkish-red dot, and the one in the charging slot doesn't look red at all. I stuck it back into the rice just in case. Can anybody help with my situation?Just some info, up until I put my phone into the rice the first time, I was mostly in full panic mode, and even after I put it in the rice, I kept checking to see if it worked by pressing the sleep button. I'm pretty sure I did everything I'm not supposed to do, but what can I say?
I purchased my Iphone 4 while living in Hong Kong. I am now back in the UK and the phone has deveoped a problem where the mic cuts out during calls and the person I'm on the phone to can't hear me. I took the phone to the apple shop here and the girl told me that she would have given me a replacement but she can't because the phone is slightly different than the UK (european) model of the Iphone 4. She then told me to call apple care and explain to them over the phone. I called apple care and an american woman said she can't give me support unless I pay £25 but will email me instructions on reseting the phone, I told her reseting won't make a difference as the mic problem is a common one with Iphone 4's and I've read it's a hardware problem. So anyways I reset my phone and nothing changed. I'm stuck in limbo right now and dunno what to do, does anyone have any suggestions? I think I'll get a galaxy when my contract is up this year.
i bought iphone 5 in new york. i live in south africa. i cannot hear caller on the other side of the call. no-one wants to repair my phone because its an "international" phone. Where do i send the phone to in new york to try and get the phone working again?
I have lost my built in apps and do not know how to reinstall them on my phone. The Safari and App Store icons are gone. I can no longer surf the net on my phone and the little "microphone" key has also disappeared when I send text messages etc. I now have to actually type the message instead of speaking into my phone. Siri has also vanished. Any advice?
I too have had the "flickering/flashing" screen problem...I received my first iPhone 4 on release day (6/24); had no display issues until 3 days later, on 6/27. First occurred while on call in car; phone continued to work but display was black; had to do the two-button "hard restart" method to reboot phone. I was away on vacation for a week (not near an Apple Store), and phone continued to have this issue at least once/day. It could be on any screen or app...had it occur on calendar, a game, the home screen, etc. It would begin flashing ~8 times, then go to a "lit up black" (not off but slightly and evenly lit up black). Sometimes it would be 75% black, w/ a whiter "band" across the top 25% of the display.I discovered that sometimes if I quickly hit the button on top while it was still flashing, I could "save it."I have videoed this (using my 3GS phone...now my wife's) a few times, and it also did it at the Genius Bar at my local Apple Store last Friday (7/9) when I returned it. They saw it in-person, and watched one of my videos, and promptly gave me a replacement phone. However, the NEXT day, 7/10, my replacement iPhone 4 has started to do a similar thing...no "flashing/flickering", just goes to the "lighter black" screen. First occurred when trying to open the calendar. I contacted Tech support and spoke to someone at Apple for ~1 hour, who said there have been NO reported display issues from others, and thought it perhaps was due to a corrupt "Restore from backup" file. She suggested that I do a regular restore (not from backup), but I have hesitated to do so yet, instead looking/waiting to see if others have had this issue, as I don't want to lose contact, texting & calendar info. She also said it was not good to perform the "hard restart" (two button) function very much... I eventually have tried the "slide to power off" across the top of the black screen, and phone turned off and could restart with just the single (upper) button. So the phone is ON...just display isn't...I am an AVID iPhone user (have had the 2G, 3GS and now 4 model) for 2 1/2 years, and this won't make me "switch"...I just want it FIXED..!
Hello, There appears to be an issue with my iPhone 5's rear camera microphone. When recording video it causes white noise and I can barely hear any audio at all. To diagnose the fault I phoned myself and put music on. I could hear the music fine without loudspeaker, I then switched on loudspeaker while the screen was facing upwards (to test the front facing mic) and it was fine, once I turned the phone upside down, the audio cut out. To ensure that my desk wasn't just blocking my front facing mic, I switched loudspeaker off and then turned it back to face up, then again to face down and then switched loudspeaker back on. Unfortunately it confirmed that was the fault. I have recorded voice memos and front facing videos with no issue, but when using the rear camera I still have the same fault. I have cleaned out the small opening for the mic and haven't caused my phone any damage, so I can't understand why this would happen? Has anyone else had this issue? Will I have to have my entire phone replaced, the whole rear camera or just the microphone? Are there any fixes I can perform myself? Thanks,Ross
suddenly there is no sound. Not a problem before now cannot hear call, music, game etc
I can not hear calls through earpiece but is working on loud speaker, any ideas?
Dear sir I am Apple supporter since 3G. And currently I am holding iPhone 5 for less than 6 months. Recently I found that when I shake the phone, i can hear there are particle inside my phone. I went to Digi (mobile service provider). They can replace me a re-conditioned unit which I think it is not right. It will be an repaired item which is not mine. I would like to seek for your advise
My FT shortcut was accidentally deleted from my iPhone, how do I get it back?

Please help me:( Iphone 5) I sometimes hear my own voice slightly while during a call. Do you have a problem like this? I am using Iphone 5 for 5 mounths but last 2 mounths I hear my own voice echo during the call? What is the problem? Is my phone tapped?
Sometimes, when i lend my iPhone away for a few hours, that person would have complete access to my messages, whatsapp and so on. Is there any way (or app) that can lock specific apps?
I can hear someone when I'm talking on the phone and if someone texts me while I'm talking on the phone I can hear it. Otherwise, my phone makes no sound unless earplugs are in. No ringer, no alarm, any video or audio....all silent. Even Siri is quiet!

I have an iPhone 5 64 GB running iOS 6.1.4 on AT&T. Over the past ~ three days, have noted that the iPhone randomly "crashes". Could be when I am using an app. Could be when I am making a phone call. Could be when it is simply connected to the power cord and haven't touched it at all. The cycle is as follows: Screen suddenly goes blankThe white Apple logo (which typicaly appears during boot-up) appears for 3 - 5 secondsI hear the "chirp" that normally sounds at the end of boot-upThe iPhone lock lock screen then appears Sometimes, when the phone emerges from lock screen, the brightness is about half of what it was prior. I have not been able to isolate this behavior to a specific set of circumstances. When it occurs during a phone call, the call is interrupted / other party is silenced, but if I swipe at lock screen, the call resumes (the other party notes that I went silent during duration). I have re-started / re-booted the iPhone 15 times. I have cleared all apps from the cache. I have disabled all notifications and location services. I have done a Reset All Settings on iPhone and restored from iCloud. I have done a Restore from iTunes. The problem continues. I would say that this crash cycle occurs about every 30 - 60 minutes. As noted, many times when I'm not even touching / using the iPhone. Have also noted that when not connected to power supply, the iPhone is quite warm, and battery drain is at an accelerated rate of 3x to 4x of "normal", worse than prior iOS 6 related battery issues. Have also tried all the usual battery saving tricks - wifi is off, GPS is off, EQ is off, etc. Any thoughts before I head to the Genius Bar? Thanks! TCF
Last night my iPhone 5 went black and won't respond to anything. I can still hear soundlike siri and when a text comes through but I can't see anything. I have tried to restart it by pressing the home button and power button but that hasn't worked and I've tried to restore it on iTunes but that hasn't done anything, can anyone help?
So, I was in my bathroom just about to get in the shower while listening to music, being the clumsy person I am, I ended up dropping my iPhone in the toilet. I quickly gathered the iPhone, and placed it in rice. I waited 3 days, and if I plug it into my laptop, it turns on for about 10 seconds (only logo appears) then it shuts off. I was wondering if I visited the Apple Store, would they replace this? I have an iPhone 4. Btw, I don't have a warranty.
My iPhone 5 stopped ringing and will only vibrate and the only way I can hear music is through the earphones. Any suggestions? Help?

So i have my brand new iphone 5, since out of the box (2 days ago) the camera is not working, the camera app launches when i hit the camera icon but the shutter wont open, now if hit home button and then open camera again the shutter opens but the screen is black and i can't use any button on the camera app (auto flash, switch to front camera, etc.). Last night i read somewhere in this forums to turn off "Cellular Data" on the facetime setting, and it started working, until today when i got the same problem. i already restored it as new and it did nothing. Please Help.

My iPhone 4S randomly turns itself off during a call on facetime. I have no idea why..?
Hello, I've had my iPhone 4S since July 2012 and am currently on a 2 year contract with EE in the UK. I've been having a problem for about a week now that came to my attention about last Friday. Basically whenever I dial a number and someone picks up the phone and I begin talking, nobody can hear me? They won't hear me say anything and will simply hang up, I've recalled this happening to several people but I wasn't sure if there was a genuine fix or whether it merited getting a new handset? I've considered taking to direct to EE because the nearest Apple Store is in Manchester, and I only want to travel there if I have good reason to. Is there any known fix for this? i have tried resetting my phone by holding both buttons but have yet to do a full restore (Last resort) Just wondering if anyone knows? -Matt

Basically my iPhone 5 power button has a rattling noise which is annoying cause you could hear a tick when it vibrates. Also the phone sometimes blacks out and doesn't come back on. I didn't expect these issues after paying £430 for a brand new device. Will I get a replacement.
Well, I'm trying to listen to Songza off my iPhone with no headphones, but its telling me I have headphones plugged in, so it won't play anything. Tried to make a phone call but can't hear anything unless I throw it on speakerphone.

Less than two months ago, I purchased an iPhone 4S 16G, as well as a LifeProof case, which the dealer told me was superior to an Otterbox. It is touted to be waterproof, dirtproof, snow/iceproof, and shockproof. Up until today, I have been quite pleased with my case, though the screen protector does make it a bit harder to to tap the screen. Today, I had my phone in my pocket. When I bent over, it fell out and hit the ground from a height of two feet. It was completely in its case, and I had performed all the checks recommended before using the case. It fell on to carpet. When I picked it up, the case was undamaged, but the entire front of my phone was shattered. It look as though it had been hit by a bullet. The screen still worked, but it was covered with tiny shards of glass. The damage seemed focused around the ear speaker at the top of the phone. I have in the past dropped an iPod touch, sans case, face down onto tile, and the damage was about 4x less than the current damage on my phone. I immediately called Apple, who told me that the warranty did not apply to my situation (though this was not a surprise). I would have to replace my phone, refurbished for $150 or new for $200. I then called LifeProof, at which point I discovered that their warranty only covers the case. They will not refund your phone, though they offered to give me a new case. The person I spoke to told me that he used a LifeProof case, and that his screen had cracked several times while using it. He recommended going to an independent phone dealership who would repair my screen. In short, this overpriced case does almost nothing. To be fair, I have had no problems with the waterproof aspect of the case. However, it will not protect your phone from even the most minor drop that would normally not damage the phone at all. I have seen several accounts of LifeProof owners who put their phone in their pocket and pull it out cracked. This case is not worth $1, let alone $80. For emphasis, I have included some photos of what my phone looks like after the fall. Remember, this was only two feet and onto carpet while in the supposedly shock-proof case.
I just bought iphone5 here in Dubai & I noticed it don't have facetime even in the settings & restrictions,I tried to search for it but nothing is coming out,but my boyfriend's iphone5 got a facetime & my brothers iphone 4 got that also but I don't have.
My speakerphone and facetime aren't working I can hear the other person but they can't hear me what should I do??
I get a "waiting for activation" message when trying to turn on IMessage and facetime. I rebooted the phone and reset the network settings but it did not work. does anyone know how to resolve this issue?
My third attempt to fix my iPhone 4s. I've gone through two phones calls, three associates, and one Tech. support supervisor. The only thing said to me was "I cant do anything". I've explained my problem, as thorough as possible but the only option was to purchase a replacment for $200. I've restored my phone multiple times with zero effect, each with a clean restoration of iOS 6.1.3. If there is a solution to this problem I will greatly appreciate it. Okay, so lets see if this works. So I've had my iphone 4 for about a year and a half, I've never really had issues beside the normal glitching and having calls drop here and there. Recently I've had an issue with my iphone connecting with just one individual. Yes, I know it sounds weird but keep reading. I have been able to make calls and recieve phone calls fine, however I cannot with just one single individual. They to also only have the same problem with me, however the only difference is they can hear me but I cant hear them or anything. We're able to text and send picture messages without any issues. Now sometimes when I try to call them, itll ring twice and then the line just goes dead, but thats usually them picking it up. I cannnot hear them at all. I've already done the reset on my phone and I've already contacted apple about this issue and their about as lost as I am because it doesnt make sense that this is only happening with one individual. I've also blew out the speakers and such like people have suggested. I use my head phones that came with my speaker, and ive connected and reconnected them incase my iphone thought they were plugged in. Let me give you a little bit more info. They have an android phone, we have the same carrier which is verizon and they live in another state (not sure if thats helpful). I'm completely lost because this has been going on for about 4 days now and its driving me crazy. This happened a few weeks ago, however it magically fixed its self ( im thinking it was because I had bad service). If anyone has any solutions that might help, please, please let me know.
Purchased my 4S form from Dubai while on holidays and regretting it, as facetime was disbaled in it. Was not aware of this until i reached UK and tried using it.Last week took it to Apple store as the speakers started playing up. As it was within warranty period they replaced it with another 4S, said the speaker madule was fauly. Was over the moon as i thought the replacement phone would have facetime as i am in the UK, lone behold all my hopes were shattered when i switched it on! facetime is disbaled in it too. ***! Called up customer service and complained, their reply LIKE WILL BE REPLACED WITH LIKE Is it fair, please i need your opinion
I was given a iPhone 4s, my sister got another phone and I had an iPhone 3Gs. She failed to tell me the audio was giving her trouble... The phone rings and my alarms go off but when I'm on apps and playing music I can't hear anything... What can I do to fix it? I've tried restoring, restarting and resetting my phone and they haven't fixed the problem... This site I saw stated that when all else fails jailbreak your phone but I'm not sure what that will do to my phone. What else can I do?
