I contacted orange UK and they said that this iPhone4 is ready to be unlocked, but they can't unlock the phone because I am not the original contract owner. Why can't Apple unlock this phone, because the original owner doesn't care and has sold it? As far as I understand, I am one of at least 3 owners for this phone. I guess there could be more. I just wanted to have a normal iphone, why can't Apple help on this issue? I have previously had many apple products, this is the first one I bought used adn just wanted to restore it to normal. Another thing is that 3rd party services can unlock it for 200$. What is that they do to unlock it? Why can't apple make a small comission for unlcoking iPhones instead. People find ways to cheat and ripoff people who doesn't deserve to pay extra for the phone they bought. how can i unlock my iphone 5 from orange?
My iphone 5 which is running iOS 6.1.3 for the past few weeks has bee charging off and on. I have two cords one that came with my phone and one I ordered off amazon, neither of the two cords is functioning proerly which is leading me to believe it may be a phone issue rather than cord. I wil plus it in and often get a "charging is not supported with this device" message ragardless if I use he provided apple brick, my laptop, or car port. It will mainly then switch off and on between charging and then just being plugged in not charging!

Hi! I recently upgraded to iphone 5 with orange and had just got myself a 24month contract but after a couple of weeks, the worst happend - I managed to drop my lovely new phone down the toilet! Anyway long story short, I am going to order a new iphone 5 online with Apple and it will be unlocked. What I'd like to know is will there be any problem putting my orange contract sim in an unlocked iphone 5? I don't want to fork out for the phone and then find out my sim won't work. `My contract and sim is for iphone 5 so I'm guessing it won't be a problem, but thought i'd just check anyway. Thanks in advance for any answers!

iphone 5 - No Service & WIFI keeps dropping I recently upgraded from an iphone 4 to a 5 and since then I am having a nightmare with connectivity. My phone constantly says No Service or doesn’t pick up WIFI in places my old phone worked absolutely fine. I am with the same company, orange, so it isn’t a change to service provider. I know the phone is at fault as I commute the same way every day etc and never had this issue before. Any ideas? orange (bandits!) won’t speak to me as it is outwith the 14 days cooling off period!

Hello I recent recieved one iphone 4 from one friend in France, but was sim lock, so i tried to contact the company operator. I explain the situation that i didnt had the number, or the original name from the buyer. In reply from them:"Bonjour Monsieur Breda, Vous souhaitez déverrouiller un mobile orange d'occasion. What can i do to unlock?? since my network doesn't unlock the device...
Is anyone able to get LTE on an iphone 5 in orange County?

I bought my iphone 4 from UK, and it was originally from orange, Spain and, now I am in Pakistan and my iphone is not picking up the pakistan's carrier. Please help me in this regards, it would be highly appreciated.
leading up to the 5's launch, I was reading that the iphone 5 might be waterproof. I got my 5 on Friday and unfortunately dropped it into a tub of water yesterday. I'm talking full submersion. Thankfully, it is still working with 100% functionality. Did they end up making the 5 waterproof because I thought my phone had no chance of survival when it happened and am very surprised that it's alive.
i bought the iphone 5 on orange from the carphone warehouse in november 2012.i then had a call from orange asking if i would like to migrate to EE to have 4G services etc.i agreed and my new EE sim arrived in the post stating simply insert your new sim and well do the rest.when i put the new EE sim card in my phone it says sim not valid.iv rang orange and EE alot for the past 5 days now saying to wait up to 48 hours and restore iphone on itunes and it will say congratulations, iphone unlocked.its not working for me and my orange sim says no service and calls from this number are barred.any help is much appreciated as i have no idea what to do next.EE told me i need the iphone unlocking and that apple needs to update my itunes but iv waited alot of 48 hours. thanks for reading ,Ross

i have an iphone 5 locked on orange is there any way apple can change the network on it ???
I have been waiting for a code from orange since the 17th of Dec and after 2 seperate requests and £20 paid I was recommended to contact Apple direct to have the phone unlocked. After contacting apple i was advised to attend in store although all through out I have been told that the unlock would be made available through Itunes? Can any one assist?
Here are the instructions they gave me:-------------------------------------------------------------------1)Insert a non-orange 3G SIM card. This must be a network provider who also supplies the iphone/ipad.2)Switch ON the handset.3)Connect to iTunes using USB cable4)Use the “restore” option within iTunes (located at the bottom of iTunes not the top) 5)The handset may then display: USB cable and iTunes icon.6)Disconnect from USB then re-connect7)Synchronise device with iTunes8)Once synchronised a message will appear on iTunes stating “Congratulations, your iphone has been unlocked” If using IOS5 this message will not show 9)Follow on screen set up instructions to enable new carrier settings--------------------------------------------------------------------To me they seem a little convoluted so I wanted some help/feedback before I start to do it.
This iphone5 has a bad battery life. Appalling reception quality, and I've checked with other owners across O2, orange, TMobile and Vodafone and the same problems exist. The phone just cuts out in the middle of a call even when showing full reception. Also the phone casing heats up very quickly. Are Apple actually going to do something about this iphone5 or have they given up? They are likely to take Microsoft's crown when it comes to releasing unprepared and not fully tested products to market! Very very very disappointed and frustrated!
The order you placed with ourselves has come back from our supplier as rejected, because you gave the incorrect network. We still had to pay the administration cost of this unlock however, so we are unable to refund you.Your handset is actually locked to Vodafone EgyptAs a goodwill gesture, we would be willing to unlock this for a low amount. Please see our pricelist page to see if we can unlock this network, and then get in touch, and we will inform you of the additional amount. what i do now ?
I bought 5 days ago my first iphone 5 brand new. It works fine, but i found, maybe, 6 or 7 black spots on the top of screen. This happens only in a red or orange colored screen, but i dont like it. im not sure if this could be dead pixels, but i guess they are... could somebody confirm? thanks.
I got an iphone 4 in the UK on an O2 contract a year ago, i used it for a year and some months and went back home . I unlocked it back home and came back to the UK and still used it with my O2 sim. I went back once again, used it, and this time when i came back andtried to use a different sim in it, even though the phone was unlocked, it said "invalid sim card". first i thought that maybe by restoring to factory settings might help but it didnt. My contract with O2 has been terminated, how can i use my iphone 4 (not iphone 4S, not iphone 5) with a different , say for instance, orange, sim card. Thank you
I m having iphone 4 T-mobile OS 4.2.1. It was tied with orange operator in UK. Did apple provide facility to unlock it for India and how much it cost. What the process?? After that OS updating is possible??

Hi, I have an iphone 5, about 2 and a half months old, white and 32gb on the orange network. The past week or so I've had really bad signal problems. 3g and signal goes in and out all of the time, never stays on. EVERY TIME I make a phonecall, I get about 30 seconds in and I lose my signal and have to restart my phone, which just makes the whole process start again, I'd instantly lose it if I made a phonecall(if I even regained signal after restarting). Text messages off people are coming through all over the place and I can very rarely send any messages myself. It's extremely frustrating to have a phone that I can't even used, I plan on visiting the EE store after work today but is there anything else I can do to fix? I'm fully updated to 6.0.2. Josh *Edit: My wifi is pretty unreliable as well, disconnects just as much as the network carrier settings, it's even more frustrating as I bought this phone as working away from home and wanted to utilise the factime option to contact home. Also when I do have signal, if I don't get the problem of calling and losing signal after 30 seconds, I can have signal but I just get a call failed message
I noticed that my "other" capacity (orange bar) was at 5.3 GB when looked at in iTunes. I cleaned off many of my apps and data, even going so far as to delete text messages and old voice mail. the "other" remained the same size. I read several blogs which mentioned this problems and said the only solution was to restore the phone. I have done that, and was surprised to find that when it was over the "other" capacity DOUBLED to over 10 GB.I have nothing on my phone at this point except 60 contacts and the basic apps that come with the phone. What is going on?
I recently bought an iphone 4 from a polish guy and he told me he had bought it for his mum in Poland but because it was too complicated for her to use so decided to sell.I checked it out and it was working normal except I couldn't make any calls in the UK obviously as it was locked to a Polish carrier. On phone details I noticed it said Telenor, but after research I understand there is no Telenor in Poland, rather orange, T.Mobile are the main carriers.Telenor cover Norway, Sweden and Pakistan.I then decided to restore(stupidly) using a T.Mobile SIM card but unfortunately on the 3rd screen of set up it said SIM card inserted not supported. I then bought a factory restore off eBay where I supplied the phone's IMEI number and then was told this would permanently unlock the phone to any network in the world. however, this hasn't worked even by attempting to restore via iTunes.I am beginning to think I need a remote unlock and restore from apple or find out the original sim that it was locked on to as I can no longer locate the chap I bought the phone from. any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.ta
Basically, i bought an second hand iphone 4s for £325, saw the ad on gumtree. anyway, met the guy who was selling it at a place where i knew there would be plenty of CCTV cameras to catch his number plate and the sale should anything go wrong. anyway, bought the phone, took it home and tried to activate it with my orange sim. the phone kept showing 1/2 bars of signal with 3G then saying please insert a compatible sim. so i phoned up apple and they told me that the phone was locked to o2 depite saying on the phone under about in settings "orange UK 11.0". anyway, i phoned o2 and they told me that it was IMEI blocked. they told me that it was either lost/stolen. i imagine it was insurance job as they sold it in the correct box with matching imei number and serial number. I was really annoyed as you could imagine, tried contacting the seller, no response. I informed the police, giving the car reg and a description of the seller. they said they'd investigate etc. also reported the ad to gumtree. I was told my a family member, who works for the police that normally, the insurance company or the rightful owner would try to claim it as theirs and that i will lose both my £325 and my phone. What can i do? I read that apple replace imei blocked phones if they are faulty? but would the new one also be blocked? PLEASE HELP!!!!
How Do I Help Apple US & Apple Europe Stop Warring With Each Other And Fix The Problem They Created? PROBLEMApple will not replace, as promised, the iphone 5 (A1429 GSM model) that they gave me in London, UK, with an iphone 5 (A1429 CDMA model). BACKGROUNDMy iphone 5 (A1429 CDMA model) was purchased this year in September on an existing Verizon Wireless (VZW) line using an upgrade. The purchase took place in California and the product was picked up using Apple Personal Pickup through the Cerritos Apple Retail Store. I will refer to this phone at my "original" phone. The original phone was taken into the Apple Store Regent Street in London, England, UK on November 15, 2012. The reason for this visit was that my original phone's camera would not focus. The Apple Store Regent Street verified there was a hardware problem but was unable to replace the part. The Apple Store Regent Street had me call the US AppleCare. At first they denied support, but then a supervisor, name can be provided upon request, approved the replacement of my original phone with an iphone 5 (A1429 GSM model) as a temporary solution until I got back in the US. And approved that the GSM model would be replaced with a CDMA model when I came back to the US. I will refer to the GSM model as the "replacement". They gave me the case number --------.The Apple Store Regent Street gave me the replacement and took the original. The first replacement did not work for reasons I do not understand. They switched out the replacement several times until they got one that worked on the T-Mobile nano SIM card that I had purchased in England, UK. Please refer to the repair IDs below to track the progression of phones given to me at the Apple Store Regent Street:Repair ID ----------- (Nov 15)Repair ID ----------- (Nov 16)Repair ID ----------- (Nov 16)The following case number was either created in the UK or France between November 15 to November 24. Case number -----------On November 19, 2012, I went to France and purchased an orange nano SIM card. The phone would not activate like the first two repair IDs above. On November 24, 2012, I went to the Apple Store Les Quatre Temps. The Genius told me that my CDMA phone should not have been replaced with a GSM model in the UK and that this was clearly Apple's fault. They had me call the AppleCare UK.My issue was escalated to a tier 2 UK AppleCare agent. His contact information can be provided upon request. He gave me the case number -----------.The UK tier 2 agent became upset when he heard that I was calling from France and that the France Apple Store or France AppleCare were not helping me. He told me that my CDMA phone should not have been replaced with a GSM model in the UK and that this was clearly Apple's fault. The UK tier 2 agent said he was working with engineers to resolve my problem and would call me back the next day on November 25, 2012.While at the Apple Store Les Quatre Temps, a Genius switched the phone given to from repair ID ----------- with a new one that worked with the French nano SIM card. Also, while at the Apple Store Les Quatre Temps, I initiated a call with AppleCare US to get assistance because it seems that AppleCare UK was more upset that France was not addressing the issue rather than helping me. I have email correspondance with the AppleCare US representative.A Genius at the Apple Store Les Quatre Temps switched the replacement with a new GSM model that worked on the French SIM card but would not work if restored, received a software update, or had the SIM card changed. This is the same temporary solution I received from the Apple Store Regent Street in the UK.By this point, I had spent between 12-14 hours in Apple Store or on the phone with an AppleCare representative.Upon arriving in the US, I went to my local Apple Store Brea Mall to have the replacement switched with a CDMA model. They could not support me. He told me that my CDMA phone should not have been replaced with a GSM model in the UK and that this was clearly Apple's fault. My instructions were to call AppleCare US again. My call with AppleCare US was escalated to a Senior Advisor, name can be provided upon request, and they gave me the case number -----------. After being on the phone with him for over an hour, his instructions were to call the Apple Store Regent Street and tell them to review my latest notes. They were to process a refund for a full retail priced iphone 5 64BG black onto my credit card so that I could use that money to buy a new iphone 5 64GB black at the Apple Store Brea Mall to reoslve the problem. The Apple Store Regent Street did not process my refund. He, name can be provided upon request, told me that the AppleCare US did not do a good job reviewing my case, that they were incapable of getting to the bottom of it like they were, and instructed me to call AppleCare US and tell them to review this case number and this repair id. I asked if he read the notes from the AppleCare US Senior Advisor and he would not confirm nor deny. When I offered to give him the case number he accepted but it seemed like would do no good. Our call was disconnected. When I tried calling back the stores automated system was turned on and I could not get back through. Now I have the full retail price of an iphone 5 64GB black CDMA on my credit card and Apple will not process the refund as they said they would.I've, at this point, spent between 14-16 hours at Apple Stores or on the phone with AppleCare representatives, and still do not have the problem resolved. SOLUTIONAppleCare US and AppleCare Europe need to resolve their internal family issues without further impacting their customers.Apple is to process a refund to my credit card for the cost of a full retail priced iphone 5 64GB black. DESIRED OUTCOMESI have an iphone 5 (A1429 CDMA model) that works in the US on VZW as it did before I received the replacement phone in the UK.Apple covers the cost of the solution because I did not create the problem.Apple resolves their internal issue without costing me more time, energy, or money. This becomes a case study for AppleCare so that future customers are not impacted like I have been by their support system. Does anyone have recommendations for me? Thank you! <Edited by Host>
I want to unlock my iphone 4 to use with a different country's sim on holiday for 3 weeks. In doing this is my phone then locked to the network of the sim I used to unlock it (which wouldn't be the right sim anyway!) Or is it open to any network sim? My carrier has just told me that it would be locked to O2 if that was what I used to unlock it. And then if I wanted to get it back to be able to use my orange sim I would have to get O2 to then unlock it.... This isn't a viable option and doesn't seem to make much sense! Any help would be gratefully received!! Thanks
Dear Sir, Mam I purchased i phone 4g 32 black from my friend he broght from spain with orange network. now i am in qatar not servicing with here's network. how can i it unlocked here and what is solution for this. please help me. your cooperation would be highly appreciated. thanks and regardsabdul sattar manthal
Watned to give my iphone to my sistser for christmas because my parents said they'd get me a different iphone 4s if i gave her my used one, but i dont want to give her a faulty phone so here's the whole story. HELP!Purachased a iphone 4s 16GB from orange in the U.K in January. Sometimes the back light goes and my screen goes dark as if it's on the lowest brightness setting! But when I go into the brightness & wallpaper tab it's on full so i just bring it down and up and its fine again for a week or so then does it again randomly! My back screen cracked due to me dropping it (still worked not the end of the world)? Then my lock button became jammed from time to time (not sure if before or after i cracked the back, pretty sure was before?) and now fully stops working so I have to use the assist feature to lock my phone and take screenshots. - Anyway, I left it as it was because I cracked the back screen I didn't think Apple would help to repair it for a good price. (First Apple product so newbie to their apparent good customer service)So thennnn the other week my friend dropped it and shattered the front screen! couldnt use the camera and it started to literally fall off Went into Kingston Upon Thames Apple Store and was told straight up by a member of staff standing there regardless it would cost £130 to replace the whole phone. Obviously they thought I smashed the whole thing and wanted a new one, but actually I just want it replaced on account of the lock button and brightness issue which is still an issue and happened BEFORE the smash but I was too stupid to ask for help. So today I got the front and back screen replaced on the high street for £60. Half the Apple price but it works.BUT I didn't pay the guy to fix the lock button and brightness issue as I'm short on cash atm and think he'd mess it up some how...So I'm guessing the third-party fix voids my warranty? Fair enough. But if I take it back to Apple on account of I want them to repair my lock button and brightness issue, will they just replace the whole thing? I've booked a appointment for December 4th (nearest app -_-) and in the description it asks for when booking I just said the lock button and back screen is not working. I won't mention the high street fix BUT If they notice I've replaced the front and back screen I'll confess and say yes" I want it to be a christmas present to my sister but couldn't afford to get it fixed with you." Do you think they'll just charge me to fix the lock button or do a goodwill gesture or something and do the whole thing like they would of before i shattered the front screen? even though i got third party screens on it?Really would prefer a whole new handset, this back light and lock button issue is really annoying and I know they won't believe that it happened before the phone shattered :(! They may be able to fix the lock button but the backlight? theyll probably think it happened because of the drop but it was before. Any help, advice, or previous experiences with this issue would be great! Thankyou.
I Recently bought a iphone 5 on orange but it was pay as you go so I was wondering does the micro aim have to be on the orange network or can it be on any other network such as O2 or T-Mobile??
hi i got a iphone 4 on orange uk but would like to get it unlocked were do i get unlock from apple from can anyone please help methank youdaren
I bought from orange Romania an neverlocked iphone. Worked fine with Vodafone Romania SIM until now. Without any message I've got sim error message.SIM works fine in another phone. iphone works fine with orange SIM. It seems like is autolocked. Is this possible??
Hi I purchased a second hand iphone 3GS about a year ago for my girlfriend on the orange network from an ebay seller. She is moving network provider now and hence we need her phone unlocked from orange. I have contacted the ebay seller who has kindly requested orange to unlock the phone and he will message me back when orange confirm back to him the phone is unlocked. Apparently orange are quoting 30days just to send a message to the apple database. I understand that the process then would be to insert the non orange sim into the phone and then connect the phone up to a PC and log into itunes and a message should come up saying the phone is unlocked. However would you have to be logged into the itunes account of the seller for the phone to be successfully locked? Sorry if this is a stupid question but I am looking at buying an iphone 4 for myself on ebay. One seller has confirmed that they have just requested their phone be unlocked by their network provider and that the winning bidder will need their apple id to complete the unlock process which sounds strange. Hence my confusion. Many Thanks Jon
I got a black 64gb iphone 5 about a month ago (October 2012), and everything has been fine with it except today when suddenly, while using speaker phone during a phone call, I stopped hearing the other person. When I took speaker phone off, I could hear them. They could still hear me. So basically, my phone is always on silent mode now in a sense. I can't hear my ringtone, Siri, or music play or anything. However it still can record/pick up sound. Also when I shook my phone a little, and sort of flicked it, the speaker started working on and off while I played a song—leading me to believe it's a hardware issue and not the software. I'm really displeased. Any ideas as to how I should handle this?
Hi I've just upgraded to a new EE 4g tariff from my orange one. I bought my iphone 5 sim free from the Apple shop but I now can't seem to get LTE/4g to work on my phone. I live in Bristol so I'm in a 4g area. People have said on there iphone 5 there's a setting under mobile data to enable LTE but I just have the option to enable 3G.
Sorry if this question has already been asked and answered. I got an upgrade to iphone 4S on Vodafone UK and had it unlocked by them so that my son could use it on orange. He is now moving to O2 but keeping the same phone. Can anyone advise if the phone remains unlocked or do I need to get it unlocked from orange now? Many thanks
So, I think I might have an idea as to what is causing my new iphone to use battery like it is going out of fashion. There are lots of threads on here talking about battery life, trying to figure out if it is the iphone 5 or ios 6 that is causing the problem. I have spent far too much time looking for answers online over the last few days. I am interested to know what network people who are having problems with short battery life are using in the UK? If my theory is correct I think you are on T mobile or orange. The 2 things that make my battery percentage indicator act like a count down timer, are making calls, and using 3g. The closer I go to london the worse it gets. I have been using the speedtest app (free in the app store) to keep an eye on my data download speeds, I have been getting 15mbps on 3g and that just shouldnt be possible! My phone is now showing the EE network logo rather than the old T mobile one. Check out the link below, this is the most likely cause for my shocking battery life in my opinion.http://www.macobserver.com/tmo/article/iphone-5-battery-life-reduced-due-to-lte- signal-strengthSo if you battery is bonkers and you live in the UK, please let us all know which network your on so we can work out if apple are at fault, or if Everything Everywhere are pinching all my battery life.
Hi, I have a contract with orange on my iphone 4s and I have bought a sim free iphone 5, how do I transfer the sim accross? Will I need to ask orange to provide me with a free nano sim and then ask them to transfer the number to that new sim? Thanks!
Hi! A week ago I swap with some girl for the phones! But now I have a problem because no one can unlock my iphone :/ A girl who had this phone previously had him on contract in the orange. And now is the question.. can I unlock my iphone 4s somehow! Please help! Thanks
