Why are no apple stores in South West Sydney iPhone 5

I have a brand new iPhone 5 which cannot access the server without WiFi, I have restored the phone and network settings even replaced the nano sim but the optus Store states that I now need to replace the phone at an apple store but the nearest store is an hour drive is there another location where I can replace the phone around the Bankstown area?

international texting charges iPhone

My friend is on a class trip to Germany. He has been texting me on his ipod, through wifi, with a texting app called text free. I have an iPhone with unlimited texting. We have not been texting through iMessage, just SMS, but he is sending them from his ipod. Will I be charged gobs of money for "international texting" or is it part of my data plan since he is using wifi? HELP!

Receiving US number s imessages to international number iPhone

Hi all,  Haven't been able to find anything on this. I have an iPhone 4s which I had been using to iMessage over wifi with my friends while I'm in China (took out my Verizon sim card). I got an international (China Mobile) SIM card today after unlocking w/ verizon, etc. But now my old number is not "registered" with iMessage (I checked this in messages on my macbook) and changing my number in my phone isn't helping.  Is there a way that I can readd my US number so that when people iMessage my US phone number it goes to my iPhone which is now a different, international number?  My Apple ID still has my old number registered in it, but the Messages settings in my phone show the new international number without a means to add my old number. I'd rather use my US number over my Chinese phone number if theres a way that I can set it back to that number.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Why no international warranty option for iPhone 5

Why is there not an option available to extend the iPhone warranty to an international warranty? Especially with a phone that you tend to take with you whenever you travel having to go to the country you bought it originally is a pain and sometimes not feasible. In my case : when I travelled from Hong Kong to a business trip in the Netherlands and then on to the US my iPhone 5 got stolen at the airport in Hong Kong. luckily I only had a prepaid SIM for Hong Kong in the iPhone so I went online and ordered a new simlock free  iPhone 5 at the Dutch online Apple store to be delivered in Amsterdam a few days later. So far, so good. I am currently in China and my iPhone 5 sleep button broke down. As I had to be in Hong Kong last week I thought I would stop by the Causeway Bay Apple Store after making a genius bar appointment. They checked the iPhone 5 and confirmed the sleep button was broken and it would be swapped for a new one. However on checking my serial number they told me I had to go back to The Netherlands to get it fixed.... So here is a problem, I am not planning on being there any time soon. Why is it not possible in the global economy we live in to get an international warranty?  I called Apple Care and they suggested I could try in an Apple store in North Carolina where I am due in a few weeks, but they could not guarantee they would swap the phone. Now the end of July  I am due in the UK and from what I read now an iPhone bought in any EU country could be swapped in another EU country. so that would mean I could swap it in London?  Very odd.  Always travel with my MacBook Air and MacBook Pro and these do have international warranty.

Iphone 5 problem

On May 1, 2013 I received from my husband as a gift, an iPhone 5 16GB White (Model A1429) after his return from a trip to the African continent. I used the Iphone 5 for only 15 days, while the rear camera crashed. In an attempt to solve, restored the software and not solved. Then took the Iphone 5 Apple technical assistance in Recife / PE, called iTown where it was found that it was a hardware problem and Iphone 5 should be replaced. However when checking the model of Iphone 5 assistant coach said the serial number on my Iphone 5 (F1HK3LNGDTWF) was not authorized by Apple for replacement and that I should contact the Apple 0800. I made contact and technical support agent (# 451 886 701), Samir, informed me that the model of my iPhone 5 (A1429) is not warranted in Brazil and should submit to Apple in the country where it was purchased. Tell it had received a gift from my husband and had been acquired in a electronics store in Johannesburg international airport, not having expected to return to the country in the coming years. Requested that the equipment be sent through Apple Brazil, to the place where it was possible to repair or replace the Apple Iphone 5 Brazil defective by a new, but Samir informed me that he could not do anything for me and that very sorry. Well, I understand that Apple is a company present in several countries and that your warranty is worldwide. Still hopeful, I sent an email to Apple Feedback reporting the incident, but so far have not received any feedback. I'm very disappointed with Apple for this embarrassment and injury. The Iphone 5 cost USD 1,100.00 and in less than 15 days the camera stopped working.I await a return to Apple with the solution for the inconvenience caused.Sincerely,

Need help unlocking Sprint iPhone 5

I called Sprint and they agreed to unlock the SIM slot for international use but didn't have specific instructions on how to do it.  They told me to backup my phone, reset it, and reload from iTunes and I would get a message saying "Congratulations, your iPhone is now unlocked".  I did all this, but didn't get any message.  Does anyone have the specific instructions of how to do this?

Hi everyone.I bought my iPhone 5 from apple online store (US).Now I want to replace broken display. I have international warranty and it's still valid. I understand, that I should pay for it, but there is no any official support of apple in my country (Georgia).What can I do? Hi there, I've suffering from a call receving problem which is - Example -  I have a contact saved at my phone "Mr. A" - 01619001234 [country code not present]But when i got call then it comes for - +88 01619001234, so its not showing Mr. A is calling. There are some numbers on my contact which contains country code (+88) and some of them not. it possible to get replacement UK iPhone 5 while abroad

My iPhone 5 has a badly cracked display.  As I'm out of the UK at the moment, I took it for a Genius Bar appointment in the USA.  They told me it wasn't possible to get a replacement from them, and I would need to contact Apple in the UK to find out if I could get a replacement shipped to me. Before I spend money on expensive international phone calls, does anyone know if it's possible to do this?  Are there any other ways I can get my screen fixed or phone replaced while I'm out of the UK?

Incoming calls will show only number even though contact in address book iPhone 5

We have an unlocked Iphone 5, numbers were brought into the device from windows live. Incoming calls from international numbers will show only the incoming caller id, but not the name, even though they are in he address book. We tried to add the "+" to beginning of the number already.

Cracked screen on brand new iPhone 5

I bought my new iPhone 5 through optus and it was delivered Wednesday. I didn't get the extra Apple Care plan, and today, barely 3 days later there is a crack in the front glass!!!!! Can Apple fix this under the standard warranty or am I up for more money already??? It hasn't been dropped or bumped so not sure how the crack even got there? :(

What 3 conversations on iphone mean and Wombat Service mean iPhone 4S

I downloaded facebook to my iphone and lost all my data.  It then slowly came back except I lost all my phone/contacts.  Then my phone got disconnected.  My provider optus re-connected my phone and don't know who or why it was disconnected.  I still have lost my contacts.  Now when I use another phone I get the msg that there are 3 on the conversation and also with my mobile number not displayed I get the number showing "Wombat Service"  what does this mean?  Is my phone being used by another person? and have they taken my contacts?  Not sure what is happening but my phone is playing tricks on me.  Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not send or receive msgs?  Could you please explain.  Thank you. So many problems with my iPhone 5

I bought my i phone 5 in US and took it back home (outside India). My i phone gets too hot while speaking and some times when kept idle. Further, while charging the phone, the i phone body shoots electric currant. Third, despite switching off location services and using minimal apps, my phone battery gets drained in less then 3 hours. Fourth, when i make or receive a call, the other side cant hear me for a couple of initial seconds. Then it works. Its not even 4 months since i bought my i phone.   I dont know if my i phone has international warranty. I phone folks back home dont seem to have any clue. Please help.  Also, is it possible for apple US to instruct apple India to replace my phone.  this is really upsetting after spending so much.

There is an oficial re-seller of Apple company in my country (Kazakhstan). I called them and asked, they said the international warranty doesn't cover Kazakhstan. Hello how come? (.  I really disappointed of Apple company,  I thought Apple take care about its customers all over the world that's why people love Apple, but in my case I can't do anything. Apple is losing a market sense. What a shame!!!!

My iPhone 5's Data roaming is set to off but I am seeing on my bills that I am having some data roaming. Not much, 2000-4000 kb's per month. Can anyone tell me why this is happening?  Sprint can not answer my question, but I really didn't think they would since no one there can give a straight answer.

Faced issues with iPhone 5

Hi,  I bought my iPhone 5 from Germany just after the launch.However I live in Turkey and I didn't have chance to try my iPhone before I got back to Turkey.After I turned back to my country I have noticed that there are several dust on camera sensor as you can see below pictures. In additon after a while the lock/power button stop working as well. Apple claims that Apple products have 1 year international warranty but this doesn't work in Turkey. Nobady gets responsibility of any Apple product if the customer buys it from any foreign country.  I don't wanna go to Germany just to visit an Apple store to solve my problem and I couldn't find any email address to contact with email.I am a loyal customer and I almost have all Apple products.  Could please check and advice a solution to solve my problem ?  Best Regards, Tayfun Tarı.  

can you set specific contact to only send and receive imessage and never regular text message iPhone 4

I'm texting an international number and randomly it will send as a regular text instead of imessage even though I'm on wifi or 3G at all times. Is there a way to change it so that you are unable to send a message to them if imessage is unavailable. I don't want to keep getting charged.

First, the warranty on an iPhone is not international, it is only valid in the country where the iPhone was purchased, and products cannot be mailed back must be returned in person. Second, the warranty does not cover accidental damage, that can only be covered under the AppleCare+ warranty by the out-of-warranty replacement cost reduction. So, to get service you will have to either pay the repair/replacement costs in India or send the iPhone to a friend in the US who can deal with the Apple store directly.

Warranty question iPhone 5

I recently called Apple and asked if an iPhone 5 purchased in the US is covered by international warranty for service in country like Singapore. The Apple rep said yes it would be covered, however he said it would be at the discression of the apple shop in Singapore if they wanted to service the phone or not. After reading the US warranty, I see it says: Apple may restrict warranty service for iPhone and iPad to the country where Apple or its Authorized Distributors originally sold the device. This seems that Apple only may restrict warranty to country of purchase... meaning it is not definitive.  If the warranty was restricted to the US, wouldn't it say "Apple restricts warranty service ... "? It also says in the US warranty: You may be responsible for shipping and handling charges if the Apple Product cannot be serviced in the country it is in. Notice the last part "if the Apple Product cannot be serviced in the country it is in", seems to mean I could try to get a iPhone serviced in Singapore at the apple store, but maybe they will refuse and I must send it back to the US.  If the US iPhone warranty was really only limited to the US, why not just say that in the warranty, why include that sentance above? Can anyone clarify the warranty policy for a US iphone purchased in the US and needs service in Singapore?  Can anyone point to the sentance/section in the US warranty that states the warranty is only good for service in the US?

How I avoid an automatic downloaded of IOS or app upgerades on an iPhone

Is there a possiblity to avoid, that the new ios (or any other app upgrade) is downloaded automatically? During a business tripp abroad (roaming), my international volume limit of 150 MB  was reached after 3 days. Seems as if the ios was downloaded. I did not install it but it seems, as if the software is already on the device I would like to avoid, that any app is really downloaded on my device automatically. Disabling data transfer during roaming is no option, since receiving emails and using the internet shall still be possible

iphone 4s having so many problems after upgraded to IOS 6.1

Hi! My husband's iphone 4s was in roaming configuration for 15 months.  He recently got home and he then upgraded his software to IOS 6.1, problems star to pile up!  His signal was becoming unstable, he cannot be contacted even there is a signal provided by his carrier.  Another is, whenever he makes a call, he can hear the other line but the one he's calling cannot hear him then the line will instantly cut.  Battery life also becomes a pest! Even if you don't use the mobile, the battery keeps on deteriorating on a high speed.  How can we fix it? thanks!

Extremely weak wifi on my iPhone 5

I bought my iphone 5 online through Singapore apple store.As soon as i openned the sealed package, 2 faults were found.1. There is an obvious dent on the right hand top corner of the phone.2. The wifi did not work. I tried to bring my iphone to different places and searched for available wifi and it just could notfind anything, tried to search with my blackberry, ipad and other devices and it was found. I reset the phone to its factory setting through itunes, but did not solve the problem.I updated to ios 6.02 which says will fix the wifi issue, still did not solve the problem. I discovered that if i bring the device very close to its source (a router) it will find a signal butonly receives an extremely low signal & even if it's connected, it will last only about 30 seconds andit died again. Do you think i can replace it with a brand new one? The thing is i live in other countryand the warranty is not international. Thanks

Hello!  January 8, 2013, I bought iPhone 5, being a tourist trip to the USA. Phone was bought without a contract with the operator for international use. Immediately after the purchase went to Russia. When you turn on the phone and activate it turned out that does not include no camera (either front or rear). When you contact an authorized service center for Apple (found via website Apple.com) I was denied warranty, based on the fact that Apple does not offer international warranty. Is this true? What to do and how to get a repair / replacement iPhone? By mail?
