Hi everyone! I have an Iphone 5 that was newly "remodeled" for tmobile. I was wondering if there was something wrong with my battery after a recent decline in performance. I am updated to the latest iOS and I recently restored all of my settings on my phone in an attempt to increase battery performance, leaving only wifi on location for weather. With my current usage and standby, do I have something to be concerned about? I know some individuals that have my usage and will have a standby time of over a day. Advice and opinions is very much appreciated.

Having Paid about £20 for an official unlocking, I am being told to insert a Non-Orange 3G Sim card into the phone that is to be unlocked (Orange is the network the iPhone iscurrently locked to).  Well I don't have a Non-Orange 3G Sim Card do I !! Unable to update iOS to more than 4.2.1 iPhone 3G

I have gone through all of the steps to try to upload my Iphone 3 to an iOS5 so that I can load google, facebook etc.  The phone says it is at 4.2.1 and that is the latest software available.  Before I did the original update the phone had all those apps.  HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

google maps App Issue Blue Tooth for GMC Acadia- iPhone 5

I'm having an issue with the our blue tooth which is paired with our GMC Acadia.  It's works fine with the exception of each time it gives directions vocally it repeats "Call Ended" through the stereo system.....   It does this every single time the App gives vocal instructions. Apple Maps - No problem although I need to be connected via USB which the vehicle has.  Apple Maps is fine so I'm not sure why all the Hype about google Maps for iOS. I am just courious if anyone has come across this issue with the google Maps for iOS in a vehicle.

iPhone 4s Mail App using Gmail-Username or password for account incorrect

I recently changed my Gmail password for my Gmail account while on my desktop pc. Then on my iPhone 4s, I configured the google app (for the first time) for my Gmail account. This worked fine. I went back to the default iPhone Mail app (in Settings) which was already configured with my Gmail account (and was previously working). I figured I would be prompted to change my password - which I was. But it wouldn't accept the change. So I then deleted the account and tried to set it up again. It still won't work. It continues to say the username or password for the account is incorrect.  Can you not have the same Gmail account configured in both places - the Mail app and the google app? Thoughts?Thanks!Lori

I have iPhone 4S and using chrome app. google recently give me a lot of problem, it redirect to me to some website I never heard before such as http://corp.kaltura.com/. It was different website couple days ago. I tried on Safari, both app will have problem at the same time. If I can use google, Safari and chrome will both work, if google has problem, both will have problem (google only). I tried on search box or type google.com, clear all the histories and cookies. Could not solve problem.  Sometimes turn off the iphone then turn it back on will temperately solve the problem, but it come back again. Yahoo search engine has no problem at all. Hello! I´m soo frustrated right now - it seems i can not get my new iphone 5 to work... I broke the screen my iphone 5 aproximatley 4 mounths ago, and bought a new screen on ebay. I bought this for over 300 dollars, and got a friend to fix it. (and paid him as well) He broke one of the thin wires when he was changing the screen, making the front camera and speaker useless. Except that, the phone worked just fine. Then he bought a new wire, installed that, and i got it back. But now, it wont work! When i start it just a picture of an USB cable towards an itunes brand appear... and i have litterally tried everything. No matter what I do, I can not fix it, or restore it - the error code 1611 or 1603 appears om my mac screen when I connect it to itunes, and I get no further than that. And Ive uptaded all the programs, tried holding in home and of/on-button, go into the "hosts" on my mac (if you dont understand what i ment by that, just ask) Can somebody please help me?  Im cryin here, Ive used so much money on this and it does not work. Whats wrong with it? Ive tried every possible solution that appears on google, NOTHING works. I didn't bought the phone from Apple, but maybe I can send it in to them and I can get a new one? I dont expect that, but Ive would be in heaven

My only concern about updating my iOS or Carrier Settings is that I don't want to loose google Maps until Apple has worked on their map app and fixed most of the bugs in it.  My daughter upgraded her iOS and we have taken trips together.  google is not as "pretty" but is much, much more accurate and easier to use (IMHO).

IOS 6.1.3 update and maps iPhone 3G

I have updated my Iphone 5 to IOS 6 latest version (6.1.3) last week. Since then, Apple Maps doesn't display maps anymore on screen. GPS position and directions appear but on a blank screen. 3G and LTE aren't teh problem, iut works well with other apps and google Maps. Is there anyone having the same issue ?

google Chrome app disappears iPhone 3G

Cannot install Chrome browser on iPhone 3GS, iOS version 6.1.2. I installed Adobe Edge Inspect which requires Chrome. App Store shows Chrome 'Free' button but it is greyed out and does not respond. When iPhone is connected to iMac to sync apps, iTunes says Chrome is installed but there is no Chrome icon on my iPhone. Rebooted iPhone, uninstalled Adobe Edge Inspect and google Chrome in iTunes, rebooted again, reinstalled google Chrome - can see installation progress bar on iPhone, but as soon as Chrome finishes installing, its icon disappears from iPhone. Chrome is still listed in iTunes as installed but not visible on iPhone. App Store will not let me re-download Chrome - says it is already downloaded. Going around in circles here! In desperation, also tapped Reset Home Screen in iPhone Settings, which did indeed move my icons around but still no Chrome. Any ideas please?

3g data connection on iPhone 4s inconsistent

Sometime around the Feb 8, I suddenly lost capability to access the internet thru the Virgin/Sprint 3g network and Safari.  Wifi works fine, as well as phone and text.  Have contacted Virgin multiple times with no result.  Spent 3 hours in Apple store, who gave me a new 4s but it has the same problem.  Have tried every solution seen on the net, including soft & hard reboots, toggling Airplane mode, and network reset.  I have not yet done a factory reset, holding that as a last resort. Odd thing is that some apps do work on 3g: Phone, Messages, google Maps, Translator, Game Center, Skype, Clock, Xfinity TV, iCloud, and Opera Mini. What doesn't work are: Safari, Weather Channel, Xfinity Mobile, google, Chrome, Dictionary, Stocks, Apple App & iTunes Store, Movie Night, Gas Buddy, White Pages, Apple Maps, google Earth, and many more. The odd thing is that I can access google through Opera Mini, and that works fine. I left the Apple Store convinced that the problem lay with Virgin Wireless, but after a lot of online investigation, I am beginning to think that it may be an iPhone problem. Is there anybody out there who can make some sense of what works and what doesn't and diagnose this problem so I can get the phone working back to where it is supposed to?

GPS on iPhone 4S

Hello Everyone, I have a question in reference to the iPhone 4s GPS.  I'm going to use google maps to find directions between 2 locations (point A to point B) while I'm on Wi-Fi on my iPhone 4s. Neither of the locations that I'm finding directions between will be my current location.  When I get to point A I will not have any cellular or data service whatsoever.  My question is if I use google maps (keep it running in the background) when I get to point A will it be able to give me real time movement (the blue dot) when I get to point A so I can use google maps to find my way to point B.  Will the GPS be utilized at the point?  Also if I hit the button on google maps to display my current location will it do that. All help and knowledge will be greatly appreciated.

My iPhone 4s not making noise except for when someone calls me an alarm going off or unlocking it.

I have no sound except for my ringtone, alarm, and sometimes the unlocking noise. No text alerts, email alerts, media noise, Pandora noise, iTunes noise, anything. First on my own I restored it to factory settings, cleaned the dock and head jack, did the head phone trick in and out, and I have checked for water damage. I have searched the threads and google for solutions but none have worked. I talked to Apple today and they made me restore it again and it still doesn't work. ^Usually theres a volume bar on videos, none here. ^Theres no thing to slide the sound back and forth here. ^Also no sound bar here.

my home button will not work...however I have heard that there is suppose to be an appthat you can download that looks like a little red dot that you can move over where ever you want to go and click therefore to bypass the home button....does anyone know anything about this?If so would you please share the name of it? Map backgrounds are not displaying on my 4s iPhone 3G

Mail only working over Cellular no WiFi Networks. iPhone 3G

A couple of days ago my Mail service at home stopped working. I only can receive Emails when I switch off WiFi and use my AT&T 4G. At home I am using a whole Apple enviorment and all my devices (iPad mini (6.1.1), iPhone 4S (6.1.2), iPad (5.1.1), MacBook Pro (10.8.2)) can not receive Emails. When I am going to iCloud.com I can send and receive mails on my Mac, but over the OS X Mail.app and iOS Mail.app nor receiving nor sending works. I am using several Accounts on all deveices (iCloud, Yahoo!, google and AOL) most of them are not working, only AOL received one mail yesterday. My first thought was of course the WiFi network which might have problems with the Apple Mail program, but I already tried another network with my iPhone. In this other network I am getting an error on my iPhone which tells me "Cannot get Mail. Connection to server failed." On my Mac at home mail.app tells me that my account are offline and that there might be a problem with iCloud, for more information visit iCloud support etc. Yes I did restart my deveices, yes I tried deleting and adding the mail account, yes I tried restarting the WiFi and yes I did that with iOS and OS X.

I am trying to use a safe web browser on my iPhone without having access to unsafe browsers.I have disarmed safari and installed mcgruff (safe browser). The problem I am having is with blocking other apps from being downloaded. I understand the option exists to limit app access to an age level i.e. 4yrs. 7 yrs. 12 yrs. 17 yrs., however, no matter which way i set this I can always install the 'google' app? I would have thought browsers like google would fall into a category of apps people are trying to restrict. Why bother offering the function in the first place??I also realise there is the option to block all apps, however this leaves you with no browser at all... This will be the last resort I guess?

I am getting around 8mbps speeds on my (T-Mobile) 3G network on my iPhone 5 (A1429)  Browsing internet on safari is very fast as well.  Songs are streaming well on spotify. But the APPLE MAPS & google MAPS never load directions (cannot reach server ) they work perfectly fine when on Wi-Fi  I tried all the tweaks in the discussion  "https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1598582?start=30&tstart=0"    NO LUCK Anyone has the same issue or know the fix ?

google chrome missing and I can t reinstall it iPhone 3G

I have had google chrome installed on my iPhone 4S from the start (also installed on my iPad) but since the upgrade to ios6, my iPhone no longer shows the google chrome app although it still appears and can be used on my iPad. When I visit the App Store the google chrome app comes up to view in search but the "free" button is greyed out and I can't click on it. I have settings in my iPhone for chrome (like in the notifications) but its like it is no longer on my phone and I can't re-download it. Am I doing something wrong, or does anyone have any suggestions?

iPhone 5 synced up OK with Prius for phone. Phone works well over the sound system. Siri speaks over the sound system when in the car. Oddly enough, google Maps nav assistant speaks over the sound system. The question is:   How can I sync the music/multimedia on the iPhone with the bluetooth on my Prius. Or can I???

Planned to use these with an iPod Touch 4G and iPad 2, perhaps an iPhone 4S also. The earbuds (came in small generic clear plastic bag, still unopened; seller also mentioned UPC#331515811011) look identical to pics I've seen of the latest generation EarPods, but googling the 'DTX23670VXF2' stamped on the cable came up with NO google hits, making me a bit suspicious. eBay fraud or no? Calendar refresh in background iPhone 3G

I have my work google calendar showing on my iPhone on iS 5.01. Say its Monday, and I have an event on my calendar for Wednesday. But that event gets moved to say Friday by the organiser of the event a few hours later. Unless I go into the calendar app myself to refresh it, that event will stay as scheduled as Wednesday even though in reality it has changed. I will also get the false reminder on Wednesday still if I don't go into the calendar app before the event date because it still thinks its on Wednesday. Is there a way for your calendar to update automatically in the background, say periodically? I don't wish to have to open the calendar app regularly to catch any changed events.

Photos shared to Facebook don t appear on timeline iPhone 3G

I just discovered, as of yesterday, that anytime I share a photo to Facebook, it will appear in the "iOS Photos" album on Facebook, but will not appear on the Facebook timeline. This happens regardless of what app I use, with the exception of the Facebook app. E.G., if I use the iOS Photos app, or google+ Snapseed, or any other non-Facebook app, the photos are put in the iOS album, but don't appear on my timeline, and therefore aren't seen by my Facebook friends. Is this a Facebook issue, or an iOS issue? I've seen several others complaining of this same problem within the last day or so.

Hi, I installed iOS 6.1 yesterday morning and since then I have had real issues charging. I have and iPhone 4S and the update was done over the air while plugged in to the charger (wall socket). I noticed last night that despite plugging it in it would not charge, I tried different cables, different plugs and different sockets, but eventually I managed to get it to charge from on of my PC USB sockets (only one seemed to work, and that was on the second try, it only worked after turning the iPhone off then plugging it into the USB) and it charged very very slowly. Anywho, tried again this morning and no such luck, even plugging it in while the device was off. However when I plugged it in with the iPhone turned off, the wee apple logo comes up (like it used to when it was plugged into something) and it automatically turns the device on, but doesn't charge. This happens when plugging it in to a USB socket on my PC and when plugging it in to the wall charger. Also the device no longer appears in iTunes. It worked perfectly until I installed 6.1 and 6.1 installed and verified perfectly. Doing a quick google search I've noticed that this seems to be a relatively widespread problem for others who've installed 6.1. Screams to me that there is an issue with iOS 6.1, so hoping for a 6.1.1 soonish (phone now turned off, 30% battery).

This took me a month or two to spot and track down, so I am posting here for the benefit of others.There was nothing about this on google. I am an iPhone developer, and I eventually diagnosed this by setting "Find My Friends" to geofence my real location and send a message when it spotted me leave. The second I started running an app on Xcode (the Apple software used for developing iPhone and iPad apps) it pinged instantly. There is a setting in XCode that sets the GPS to a chosen dummy location whenever you run an app. It can be found by selecting Product>Scheme>Edit Scheme from the top menu, then select "Run appname" on the left and "Options" at the top. The one you want is "Core Location: Allow Location Simulation."  Just uncheck that box. Problem solved.

DEATH by iPhone iPhone 4S

Trying to reduce 'other' on i phone, have deleted all music files as suggested, but it shows I have 25 songs on i phone in i tunes, but nothing is on the i phone to delete' This problem is causing me hot sweats and high blood pressure - nothing works on my i phone 4s anymore, useless piece of kit. 'phone is 3 months' old, previoud 3s was great,  Have all the latest updates, have tried diskAid to remove '4 gb' of Other, followed their instructions to the letter, but 'other' keeps on increasing and I have NO music on my phone. Bottom of i tunes shows a small amount of 'blue' which when hovered over, says 25 songs!   Music is empty on my i phone!! Also getting 'storage almost full' every day I turn on i phone. I have spent the whole month of January trying to get my google Calendars to display after recent update removed them. Month previously, trying to get all my original Contacts when upgrated to 4s. Oh, and yes, made a 'phone call!!!!

I really hate the new Maps App.. how can I downgrade to iOS 5.1 ? I live in Madrid, Spain, and the previous google Maps App embeded with the previous operative system was SO MUCH BETTER than the new iOS,in this map it never shows anything, I used to search for business names, or street address and in this new version you got with tom tom is an absollutely a mess. Have you tryed to search Madrid's main street "Paseo de la Castellana" the app shows "no item found". New Apple Map is just disappointing! it is the WORST APPLICATION EVER. I used that App to orientate myself in the city.I' dont want to jailbreak my devices, but there's got to be an alternative to downgrade to iOS 5 anywhere. You just update to iOS 6 to start some app war with google affecting Mac users worldwide in your private battle.Please, HOW CAN I DOWNGRADE to iOS 5.1 ?? the best iOS built for mobile devices, and I remember the performance was better than the new one.

Chrome for iPhone

I have seen that the exact size image search is back on google Chrome for desktop. I wanted to know if there is a way to do the same using the Chrome for ios. I do not see that option on chrome on my iPhone 5. Also, I tried the 'google' search app and no luck. Search using keyword imagesize:bxh also does not seem to work for me. Any ideas?

Cellular network doesn't switch to proper signal iPhone 5

I have an iPhone 5 with iOS 6.0.2 (latest update) and AT&T as my carrier. I rarely get a signal while at home due to my house being a tri-level townhome, but I'm fine with that because I use google Voice. My issue just started happening very recently. When I leave the house and head to work, where my LTE signal is super strong, my phone doesn't automatically connect to LTE, but instead goes to Edge. At home, my status bar usually has a "No Service" or 1 bar LTE/4G message.  I have to reboot the phone in order to pick up the signal. I've done the typical software restore from backup and as a new phone, but the problem still persists. Again... This just started happening for the past two weeks, but was fine before. No software update coincided with my problem as it was updated long before my issue started happening. Is anyone having this issue?

Clearing Out Download Queue in iTunes iPhone 4S

Here's my situation:  You know how iTunes lets you scroll through songs you've purchased in iTunes? Great feature, except there's almost a self-destruct button in there. The "Download All" button in the upper right hand corner. If you accidentally hit that button, the last 250+ songs you've purchased from iTunes (assuming you've purchased that many since iTunes started in 2000-whatever) will get added to the download queue. But they won't download. The phone can't handle a queue that big (at least my iPhone 4S can't). They'll be stuck in a perpetual queue, and it won't let you download anything else. It also won't let you play any of the songs on the queue, even if you manually transfer them from your PC or Mac via iTunes.  Normally, you can tap a download and it'll let you swipe to erase it. But these seem to be frozen. I can scroll through the list, but there's no ability to swipe. Plugging this particular issue into google brings up some suggestions, such as "reset all settings", "reset settings", and doing a restore from backup. But if your backups contain the offending download queue, it's restored as well (and I don't have a backup from before that point, at least one that isn't very, very old).  So I made an appointment for the Genius Bar, and their solution (they seemed to recognize the issue immediately) was to wipe the phone and set it up as new. No problem, except there's no way to backup the SMS/MMS messages. The only method for backing up the SMS/MMS messages is the official backup method. There's no syncing or iCloud whatever for it.  So now, I'm stuck with losing all the SMS/MMS from my phone from the past 5 years, or have an iTunes app on my phone that won't work.  Has anyone else faced this and discovered a solution?
