iPhone 5 Display Problem

Hello,Starting from a few weeks ago, my iPhone 5 has been functioning on its own accord. While swiping around the home screen or typing some things on the keyboard, the keys would magically press on its own. I had thought this was due to some hacking and turned off all forms of data, but the problem still persists. Is this a display issue?

Iphone 5 typing and touchscreen issue

Hi This week my iphone 5 have been presenting an issue that i have never seen in the past and is just driving me crazy, the keyboard is just working bad, everytime I type something it just write another letter or the same letter more that once, becoming very hard to tYpe somethung.. at the same time the screen moves a little bit when i write something.. and in general the phone have a bad funcionality.. its very weird, is the second timI in two days it happens... I have not make jailbreak or anything, so i dont know why it is happening. Someone knows how to fix this problem?? HELPPP

volume on my iPhone 4 only works when charger plugged in what's going on

My phone's volume stopped working today so I looked up the problem and all I saw was to use a Q-tip to clean out the port. I did this but now the volume only works when the charger is plugged in. No sounds play, the ringer, keyboard clicks, music and videos don't work. Please help!

Problems with Siri iPhone 5

Problems with Siri on iPhone 5! I have just got my new iPhone 5 and i have seen others who can use Siri to write messages on Facebook and so on. But when i look at my keyboard ind messages, Facebook and so on, i can not find the little symbol with the microfone where i can say my message to Siri. What is wrong???

SOUND BAR SUDDENLY DISSAPEAR iPhone 4

It looks like a very common problem but I need a solution. I have an iPhone 4 GSM and some times the sound bar dissapear and the only sound I can hear is the ring tone. Non the messages tone, sound on videos, music, keyboard clicks or the block/unblock sounds are available. I been told that the porblem is caused by an error on a file named:  com.apple.iapd.plist  is there a way to fix or repair this file? I will appreciate any help you can provide.

Major iPhone 5 issues Help

I've had my iPhone since release date. Everything has been working great up until about a week ago. The phone has an amazing battery life, I guess an update fixed that for me. But now my iPhone will reset itself out of no where 3-4 times a day at random times. The keyboard will get stuck on the screen after entering something and clicking done. Also the iPhone will freeze (I've tried leaving it for as long as a half an hour) and be totally unresponsive. I usually have to use the sleep/wake button in combination with the home button just to reset the phone so it works. It also randomly drops and won't connect to my home wifi at all, I also have a iMac, MacBook Pro, iPad mini, iPad 3, iPhone 3, 3GS, 4, 4S and all of these work flawless with zero problems on my wifi network. My warranty is out in September, but I'm worried about going to an apple genius and having them ask me to re create the problem. What if it doesn't happen at that time? What can I do?

Non-responsive touch at far left of iPhone 5 screen

i just unboxed my new iphone 5 , when i tried to enter my wifi password o noticed some of the letters are not functional on the keyboard , after trying evey side of the screen ,i found that there is a blind (touch) spot all along the left side , i cant press shitft or the buttons upove , and not on the key board it goes up for the head of the screen .  is this a common problem ??what should i do ?

Software issues in 6.1 with iPhone 4S

Anyone else having these problems? Since the release of ios 6 I have had problems with the sound cutting out randomly for several minutes, or as long as 2 days. I really don't think this is a hardware issue because I do not use a dock and I can tell the speaker still works because it will play my ringtones but I am unable to hear keyboard clicks, txt's, and music, sound in apps, ect.  And the sound slider completely dissapears In all apps except for the "sounds" tab in settings. I know my volume buttons work because you can see that in the sound tab as well. I have tried backing up to an earlier point in time as well as completely restoring as a new phone and neither methods have worked. I have also cleaned my dock connector repeatedly. It will work for about a second, just long enough to hear the unlock click, after restarting the phone, the. Goes away again. Which brings me to my next point. My phone will not turn off unless it is plugged in. If it isn't plugged in and I try to turn it on. The screen goes black for a couple seconds and then It turns back on. Now I don't want to just automatically assume that is a software glitch by apple but I don't know what else it is. If it is a software glitch apple needs to figure this crap out because I know I'm not the only one having this problem, and if it is in fact a hardware issue tell me how to fix it. I am not able to take it in to apple store because the nearest one is 3 hours away. Thanks apple and I hope we can fix this because I don't know how much longer I can handle not having sound for my alarm clock before I switch to android.

I have an iphone 4s. The sound works perfect on calls but there are no lock sounds, keyboard sounds, and no notification sounds. I can't play music or watch videos. Every now and then I get an unlock sound but hardly ever. What can I do to fix this?

Static heard through headphones iPhone 5

On the iPhone 5, with headphones, you can hear a slight static click just before a sound it initiated-keyboard opens, music starts playing, etc. If you are on contacts and click the keypad tab(switch between keypad and contact tabs is very evident) it also happens. You can also hear it quite well from the going from the home screen to spotlight search and back-of course mute has to be off and keyboard clicks have to be enabled.    Tried 3 different iPhone 5s, all there. 6 different headphones, all there.  4S has it but much less pronounced. Seems to be the audio amplifier turning on/off. I would have thought they could have eliminated the static popping noise a bit better.

Weird stripes in applestore when entering password iPhone 5

Hello, I've just got an iPhone 5. It runs very well and stuff but when i enter my password when downloading a App, it sometimes gets a tiny (or multiple,like a pixel wide) horizontal stripes on the keyboard. Sometimes it is across the whole width sometimes just one letter, and when i push that letter it disappears  Does anyone has also had this problem and knows what it is ? It's not like it is troublesome because it only occurs when entering password (not when playing games, texting,.....) but i just wonder what it is ? iPhone 5 acting weird

i just got my new iPhone 5 16gb last week. updated to new 6.0.2 updates   i do not have installl any heavy application, only Facebook, yahoo and flickrs  i notice my phone is always lag, not responding to touch, and the most annoying part is it always ****** me up when i use the OSK (on screen keyboard). when i try to use the OSK, for example when i want to click BACKSPACE, it will randomly push  A, Q, T for many times. i cannot get my msg done.   i try to do the soft reboot, restart but it only good for half day before it start doing the problem again.   the most annoying part is when it did not respond to my touch.   what is the problem with this?  this explain my problem    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgnkWjGvkYo

Some apps such as "Emoji 2" can help users reveal them. Just curious about why Apple wants to hide them in the keyboard.

keyboard repeat problem ios 6-iphone 4

im using an iphone4 and updated it to ios6. i have no problems about wifi or sth else but from the first day i issuing a keyboard repeat problem.  for example, i would like to write "marmara" and it appears as "mmaaarrmmaarrraaa". and if i want to erase and tap, its starting to erase all of them in a second, like im repeating.*  i sometimes restart the phone and it fixes this for about 5-10 mins. then starting again. *it happens in all applications, not depending on a particular one.  a terrible thing that i cant even search things easily and write to anyone. 50% of the function of my phone is gone. i need your help about this one. regardsalper tokat

All of sudden no keyboard sounds nor game sounds and ring sounds works sometimes iPhone 4

If I put on the headphones all works fine, take out the headphones - no sounds.If I play movies, music speakers works, headphones or not.Rebooted several times no change.Damned inconvenient to have a phone that doesn't ring...I'm about to backup the phone and reset it, but from reading here don't think it'll work.Anybody here fix their phone with similar problem?

ok i was getting sick of the constand clicking when i was texting my people, so went to "settings" "sounds" "keyboard clicks" and turned it off. but for some reason, it stopped the text notifications too!! now my phone only vibrates when i get a new text. I went back and turned the keyboard clicks back on, and it still doesn't click when typing, and still doesn't give audible notification on new texts, what do i do??? ive synced it on itunes, and reset all settings, and it still is not responding, do i have to restore the *&$^!! thing again??

iPhone 5 lock screen sounds have stopped

The Lock Sounds and keyboard Clicks have stopped working on my iPhone 5. I've tried going into Settings Sounds and turning off Change with Buttons, keyboard Clicks and Lock Sounds then turning them back on and that didn't work. Other sounds such as Alarms and Music are still working, it seems that just the keyboard Clicks and Lock Sounds have stopped. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Okay -- so yesterday I was listening to music through headphones and it would go in and out. Someone said to blow on them and that worked for a little while. Now, I want to listen to them on my speakers. (My mute button isn't on btw) anyways, I can't hear it. I can't even hear it on my keyboard. When I hold the home button for Siri, however, I hear her perfectly. What's going on?

iPhone 4S Phone Constantly Freezing After Upgrade

Ever since I have upgraded my iPhone 4S I have had NOTHING but problem after problem after problem.  - My phone turns on and off by itself- The backlight dims and brightens when it feels- My messages say (1) at least 4 seconds before any name ever shows up- The maps barely work (although I know this is a problem Apple has addressed already) The biggest issue I'm having is my phone freezing AT LEAST half the time, if not more, that I try to use the phone. Either the whole entire screen freezes and I can't touch anything, lock or unlock the phone, so basically I just have to sit there and wait for it to fix itself because I cannot even get the phone to power down. If it isn't the whole entire phone freezing it's the keyboard. The left and right side will just randomly stop working mid text and the other thing I can use are keys in the middle and the space bar if I'm lucky - at which point I have to lock and unlock the phone to regain use of the keyboard (that is IF the phone doesn't freeze during that part leaving me unable to lock and unlock the phone). I also have one of those $50 cases that are "indestructible" so I know it's not a user issue with me dropping it etc.  Is anyone else having these problems? I'm VERY disappointed in this new IOS 6 software, I'd love to uninstall it but from reading past questions I don't believe that is an option with Apple products.  I just want to see if there's any way to fix these errors before taking the time to completely erase and reset my iPhone (especially if I do all that and I still have the same problems) THANK YOU for any help

Multiple problems but now iPhone 5 screen constantly freezing and acting possessed

I got my first ever iPhone on 9/21/12.  Immediately, when I opened the package, I noticed a scratch in the aluminum side.  I read a lot of posts on this forum about scratches, but I decided I would let it go since my scratch wasn't that big.  Two days later, I realized that the battery life was terrible and only lasts me about a day and a half before I have to recharge again.  I also noticed that whenever I had to type in my password for the App Store to buy an app, the screen would flicker on the second row of keys on the keyboard when I switched to the numbers (9/23).  That problem seems to have disappeared for now ever since I updated the software.  The voicemail doesn't seem to work unless I turn the cellular data off (I think that's just because I don't know how it works) and I receive voicemails LATE.   Lately, this month, I have noticed that my iPhone 5 screen freezes midway whenever I try to swipe to the next pages.  It also freezes every half second when I am trying to type anything.  The "send" button also doesn't respond to me when I press it.  The home screen button is the only thing that I can press to unfreeze everything, but it's getting really frustrating to do that every other second.  Since two days ago, whenever I am repeatedly trying to press an app or swipe, random apps start to open up even though my finger is no where near it.  Lately, it has also been unresponsive to any touch (like sliding to unlock), but I wonder if it's because my hands are too cold... Just a few minutes ago, my iPhone was acting possessed and started opening up a text conversation and switching to another text BY ITSELF.  I wasn't even touching it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What can I do? Is it too late to bring it to the Apple Store to get a new one? It's been two months since I opened it and I have never dropped it and I kept the original screen protectors on it for a month until my actual screen protectors arrived. 

No results with Google Maps on iOS6 6.01 iPhone 3G

I know this isn't an apple software problem per-se, I will be asking the question over at some Google forums (wherever they are) in due course, but I wanted to know if other iPhone 5 users were having the same problem. Basically when using the Google Maps web app, when I click search.. nothing happens. (well, if we pick hairs, something does happen: the keyboard slides down and the little 3G data spinning wheel appears for about half a second, but no results are displayed). I've tried reloading the page and restarting the phone - but I never get any search results (which is still better than the iphone maps, because I almost always get incorrect and misleading search results when using that, which means I end up going to the wrong place and missing appointments... not that I'm bitter.) The same search in Google Maps on a desktop PC will get results (correct ones). I don't know if it is just limited to 6.01 as I've only just started using the Google Maps web app. Can someone help me find my way?

Since I have updated to ios 6 & 6.1 my keyboard shorts cuts stop working after a while (for example I press aaa to get a smiley face). I have to turn my phone off then on again to get them working again. I know this is not a major problem but its just annoying and not somthing I would expect from an iphone, so please has someone else got this problem since updating to ios 6 and does anyone know a solution to this.

My iPhone 5 keys sometimes blink spontaneously

I have a weird thing going on with my iPhone, and it happened twice that I noticed. With the keyboard open, all of a sudden several of the keys will start to act as if being pressed very quickly. It doesn't register a letter on the screen but it does flicker a letter or two very quickly as if being touched but it's not. It's is not the same thing I've seen in videos about the line flickering during App Store visit and password, but I'll try using the keyboard in the App Store  to try to isolate when it happens. Anyone else seen this or have a video of it? Thanks.

whole slew of glitches iPhone 5

Let me start by stating my background with the iPhone. I've had every iPhone apple has released. I had my own business repairing and customizing iPhones for years. I know them inside and out. I was as excited as anybody about the new iPhone 5. Unfortunately that was short lived. Here's a list of issues that I've experienced with the phone that should simply not exist. *my power button only works if I press it very firmly, and to the left of the button. This is obviously a hardware issue in the phone, but apparently it's a common one. Very disappointing to have this with a phone that's 2 months old.*the "static" keyboard when typing in your password in the App Store. Not a big deal, but why? *when you receive a message/call and you slide to unlock to answer/ respond with the screen still being lit up, the unlock simply bounces back and does not respond. I've missed a number of calls due to this issue.*when responding to a text, you type the letters to the word you want, and nothing appears. The large key will show up for each key you press, but nothing shows up on the text line. Awful.There are probably a number of other slight glitches, but they're not worth mentioning. These have been the biggest thorn in my side with the new iPhone. These issues simply shouldn't be. Especially with a "bug fix" software update from apple. I've never in my life been so disappointed by a product I've purchased. This phone retails for $600. That's not chump change. In fact, that's a crap ton of money for a phone. I understand its more then a phone, but if it can't do the simple tasks perfect, 100% of the time, I feel like it's a huge waste of money. There is no denying the beauty of the new iPhone. But damnet, I spent my hard earned money on more than a pretty paper weight. Apple screwed the pooch big time with this one. I'm sad to say, this will be my last iPhone I ever purchase. What apple once was, no longer exists. So long apple.

Several weird quirks all at same time. iPhone

My iPhone 4s just started doing several really weird things all at the same time. 1. I cannot open my email. I have tried turning off/on my phone several times to no avail. reinput all my info into the mail setup. nothing.2. My text messages come through, but my phone does not alert me. I suddenly see that I have a text, but not alert, no vibrate, no banner. then, several hours after I read my message, an alert may, or may not come through for that message.3. My phone is set to go into sleep mode after 1 minute, but it will not go into sleep mode unless I hit the sleep button on top. 4. My keyboard is not working properly, the letter pops up when I touch it, but doesn't actually input into my text unless I press it again several times. this does not happen with every letter everytime, but it does happen with all the letters/numbers/symbols some of the time. especially the space.5. The phone gets incredibly hot when in use for more than a few minutes, and while charging.  any ideas?????

iphone 5 screen flickerline

Intermittently I get a line just above the keyboard on my new iphone 5. It goes away after I return to the homescreen. I've gotten the flicker twice while Chrome browser but also on safari. Anyone else have this problem? No scuffs, just intermittent/slow wifi. When it's fast, it's fast, other times, it just holds for a long time. It's not my wifi since all my other devices are consistently fast.

Just got iPhone 4. There is the option to change the keyboard layout from the (software) standard QWERTY to AZERTY or QWERTZ, and (hardware) DVORAK and misc. others.I want to use the COLEMAK keyboard layout. How can this be done?

iPhone 5 Concerns-Long Post combined

I have had a few problems with my new AT&T iPhone 5 6gGB and I am continuing to experience abnormalties.  1.  The first iphone 5 I owned had a very serious rattle, the apple store keyboard login problem, and data leakage.  I had to keep it for a few weeks because they had no replacements at the time. So I was told. Employee who should not be named, dropped the box while I was watching and said it would be okay. This was not a loose battery rattle, but the Apple store employees breaking out in dance type of rattle when shaking my phone - seriously the used it as a Maracca. It was definately confirmed that it was not the battery, the camera lens suspended by magnets, or the power button. All issues were reproducible in the store.  I went through 5Gb of data in 2 weeks with this phone.  Thanks for the warnings AT&T,     2.  Got a new phone, had the camera issue (purple haze - didn't bother me that much since I don't take photos while staring into the sun or in direct light),  got no LTE/4G signal at all when I connected to wifi.  Phone would say "no signal" and there were zero bars. This is a problem. Funny thing is, when I turned off wifi; it would temporarily give me full bars and then drop back off. I could not make calls during this time. Reset, restored the phone as new, and after having no luck, returned the phone to the Apple store. I got a replacment phone after the genius bar ran diagnostics and apparently found what I found.    2.  Now with this being my 3rd Iphone 5.  I have done a little more research into my issues.  My iphone as well as everyone i've talked too have tried and tested a theory that the phone cannot connect to LTE while on a phone call.  This was also given to me in blunt language by AT&T.  I was told that I shouldn't expect the phone to stay connected to LTE while on a phone call because the network and phone will not allow it.   I must be mistaken, because the first iPhone I had did not take an excess of 40 seconds to perform a search for www.google.com. It was connected to LTE while using Apple maps and I was talking on the phone. Irony I know.  I sent them my speed test results and I was told 0.60 mbps was normal for 4g and there were no outages. It was a little low said the rep, but still within range. This was tested a few times, with AT&T having me reset connections, restore the phone, etc before I was told that this is normal for all phones on the network.  It takes me more than 30 seconds to load a map across town on LTE if i'm on the phone.  This is unacceptable in my opion.  I bought the phone for its capability to multitask, not be neutered by some unknown changes.    Below are my recent tests while testing this theory.  The results really go from bottom to top. The 22.84 mbps down is while not on a call.  All results up to the 10.13 mbps and 9.12. mpbs are after I got off the phone with AT&T and reset my network settings.  It took 3 resets to get LTE to reconnect in which I got the awesome, but temporary 54.61 mbps down. My average results are normally 20-30 mpbs down and around 20 mpbs up (attached below). This is all while sitting stationary in a parking lot in between 3 AT&T antenna's.  I checked because the rep originally told me that they had a tower down near me.   If you look closely, I got 0 upload several times and this is just "googling" google. Attempted to connect a few times to the app store and got "app store not available" message. I'm not sure what AT&T/Apple has done but I didn't really have a problem loading maps while on the phone on my iphone 4.  Nor on my first -broken iphone 5.  It was actually a bragging point for a while.  I'm saying Apple too because this could probably be fixed with a firmware update.  The results really go from bottom to top. I'm not sure what AT&T/Apple has done but I didn't really have a problem loading maps while on the phone on my iphone 4.  Nor on my first -broken iphone 5.  It was actually a bragging point for a while.  I'm saying Apple too because this could probably be fixed with a firmware update.     This is my average speed in North Atlanta, GA  on LTE  The other issue I noticed was the weight.  Although it's still light, it just "felt" different.  They gave me a replacement phone wrapped in paper or cardboard and I immediately felt something different about the phone. I asked the Apple store salesman if something was up or if they gave me a Verizon phone and he didn't know any difference.  I know the various websites lists the stats at 3.95 oz, but I got something different.  My phone weighs in at 3.81 oz.  I tested 4 other iphones and they were all 3.7oz. All AT&T with ghost armor and clearcoat and got that same weight.  I used stamps.com postal scale and a regular postal scale that was not usb with the same results.  I weighed each 3 times and didn't breathe during the test (I'm not a scientist). What is different about my phone than theirs?  My phone actually feels different, but I have no idea why. Do any of you? I noticed another issue when rubbing the phone along the bottom.  Where cell antenna 2 meets the unibody, there is a obvious detent in the surface.  If you ran your hand along this antenna it was obvious.  Even more obvious when I went to get my phone clear- coated.  I'm a little nervous about not having anything protecting the phone.   This made the detent more obvious because the coating guys could not fill this spot.  They immediately recommended I get it checked out before getting it coated, but I told them to do it anyway.  I just got the 3rd phone what else could be wrong with it I asked myself.  Images below.   you can stick your fingernail in this separation Sorry for the picture quality. I had to use the iPad 2 to take the pictures.  The other iphone has been erased.   Another issue i've noticed is that the home button seems to get stuck and makes an very audible click/crack noise when it's been sitting for a while. Other iphones make a normal clicking noise - I've also tested this with several of my friends phones. Once you've hit the button about 10 times the sound goes away, but if you let it sit for a while (few hours) the sounds and force it takes to press the button returns.  Are any of you experiencing the same problem? The other problem is the phone was given to me with a scratch. I was first snippy about people complaining about scratches, but once it is seen it can't be unseen. I noticed it, but initially thought it was some crap left over from the little package they gave the phone to me in.  At this point, I was getting tired and only looked for very obvious differences as I tried to restore my contacts before leaving the store.  I walked away from the Apple store directly to the clear-coat guys.  The clear-coat guys are good at pointing out problems, but it was 8:50 PM and the mall closed at 9PM. I was not in a mood at this point.  The issue isn't that I could take the phone back, but to see if anyone has the same issues. Scratches are not that bad, but they are in a spot where I can't cover them without a case. I also have some on the top right edge of the front of the phone. I have been and always have been very careful with my iPhones.  My other iphone is still coated and in a case from day one.  I haven't even had the chance to put this in a case yet, but I have had it coated which can not cover these scratches.  I'm trying to avoid the case right now as I like how thin the phone is without it.  I will probably take it back, but not going to be a happy camper.   I have tried several fixes for the "soft" issues I have.  I've reset, restored, reset again, set up as new iphone, etc.  Nothing really helps the problem.  A bug report has been filed- might need to file again.   Has anyone experienced any of these issues and what solutions have you had in regards to them?  I know there are normally bugs to work out on the first release of any product, but this is slightly exhausting. 

Notifications for iPhone 4 not making sound

     I recieved my iPhone 4 in August of 2010 and have had the same one ever since. a few months ago, the ringer stopped working and I figured it was due to the outdated software. However, iTunes was working just fine in that I was able to hear it through the speakers and headphones when they were connected. Along with that, I noticed the button to increase the volume ceased to work. The vibrating still works, but only whenever it wants to; and when I toggle the side button that mutes the device, it will no longer show that a change has been made: ie, the bell-looking thing won't show up, nor will the muted one, and it doesn't vibrate in between switching. The clicking of the keyboard doesn't work, nor does the lock sound, nor the sending (and obviously receiving) of messages.     A few days ago, I upgraded to the new iOS 6 software in hopes that the situation would repair itself and I have had no such luck. I've tried to reset the phone many times, but I cannot seem to find the solution. I have already preordered the iPhone 5, so I shouldn't have this issue much longer, but my sister wants my iPhone 4 and I'd like to fix it for her.. I don't have any insurance and the manufacturer's warranty is up already, and I am aware that the side button to mute will probably cause these issues, but it's not on silent/vibrate. Any other ideas? Thanks.

Should i just take my Iphone into store iPhone 4S

Problem: No sound coming from the bottom speaker (No music, keyboard clicks, app sounds etc). Sound occasionally comes back for one or two days but this problem keeps happening  Solutions Tried: Turned off/on, Reset Iphone, Erased all content and settings and restored from backup, Erased all content and settings and restored from new Problem Still Occurring______________________________________________________________ Should i just take it into an apple store seen as the phone is only 2 months old? If so what do i need to take with me to the apple store? and can somebody else exhange my iphone for me if i give them all the details needed? Thanks
