how long should an I iphone battery last ? i just did a long bike ride with the gps on and it died in 6hours
Anyone? Seems like it doesn't stay charged as long as the iphone 4 did
I'm planning on buying the iphone 5 because I have an upgrade available. I have never owned an iphone before, but I do have an 2gn ipod which has 8 gbs and has 2 apps and have used 5.5 of my 6.84 gbs available with songs(1175 songs). I have also have 30 photos, and have 1.5 gbs left to fill. If I do get the iphone 5 I will not put music on it, because I have my ipod. I would like to have a lot of apps though, because I like to test them out, and give reviews on them. I have a fair amount of photos in my current phone(around 400), but the camera quality is not that good, and I think because the iphone 5 have a lot more gbs than my current one that I will want to take more than I usually do(although I would probably upload them onto my computer and delete the originals off my phone). I don't have that many contacts and I have a tablet where I play my games and movies on, so that is not an issue. I know this is a bit long but I really want to make the right choice because I plan on having this phone until my next upgrade which is in 2 years. I want to know if 16gbs should be enough or if should I go with the 32gbs? OR if I should just wait for the newer version to come out, and if this is worth to buy. I would also would like to know what the perks and downsides are too. Thank you for your patience and time.
I have been having issues with this button since I got my phone 6 months ago. Would it be quicker to send it pff, or make the long trip to my nearest store to get them to fix it?
I recently purchased an iPhone 5 (Monday, May 6th) and am convinced that the battery is defective. I attempted to get the phone replaced by AT&T since it is within their 14-day Return/Exchange policy, but of course they denied me based on it being a "technical" issue and therefore a problem I need to take up with Apple. Whatever that means. Background info: Left the house around 10:00 AM, battery fully charged at 100%Finished class at 12:00 PM, battery dropped to 53% (VERY minimal use, I was sitting through a lecture)Arrived at AT&T store at 12:15 PM, battery at 51%AT&T Rep turns off LTE, Wireless, Location Services, Bluetooth and Auto BrightnessThe only apps that were opened/used were Text, Mail (fetch set to Manual) and SafariAT&T Rep says there's nothing he can do, but these changes should "help"Left AT&T 12:25 PM, hopped on bus, got home at 12:45 PM, battery drops to 43% (ZERO use)Call nearby Apple store at 12:50 PM to set up an appointment (Call length: 11 minutes), battery drops to 41%Call Customer Support at 1:30 PM to run remote battery diagnostic (Call length: 16 minutes), battery drops to 32%Apple Rep says the diagnostics looks normal...... Battery life: 30%Usage: 2 hours 26 minsStand by: 6 hours and 3 minutes This can't be right. Is anyone experiencing similar issues with their battery? does the usage information above look normal? Any suggestions and/or tips on what I can do? I'm so upset with both Apple & AT&T right now. The AT&T rep even suggested that I "turn off cellular data" to save the battery life. REALLY? I feel like I basically just purchased an iPod touch for $240!
It's annoying as every time I want to make urgent calls need to wait for a long time before I can use it again
Hi all, everytime I want to edit text I'm entering into the message box, I'm not able to do it, since the cursor always jumps to the end of the text. This makes it impossible to mark & copy some or all text, as well as rephrasing or correcting typos. The only 'workaround' I found is to keep the finger on the target position (and having the looking glass active) and then type one character (or delete on). I'm a little bit curious since my friend and me are experiencing that issue for a long time now though I found no reference on the net for it yet (except one to a wordpress app). It happens on a 3GS as well as on a 4, at least all 6.* versions of iOS, with the previous (2.3.1) as well as with the current Viber version (3.0.0).Also experienced on iPad (3rd gen, cellular edition) with 6.1.3 / 3.0.0 Any hints or tipps are very welcome! Thanks in advance &cu,-udo
I am not the most technically inclined, so please bear with me. About two months ago, lines began showing up in Safari every now and again. They would go away, so I didn't think too much of it. Then one night, while in a game app, the screen began "flashing" like a strobelight. It couldn't exit the app fully, was blinking half the screen in the app, part of the home screen, etc. You cannot see throught the commotion to use the phone, if the programs can even open. This happened all evening, through the night, and the entire following day. Then it stopped. It was fine when I took it to the AT&T store (the closest Apple store is 45 minutes away, so I wanted to be sure AT&T couldn't do anything for me) but by opening and closing programs and apps, I was able to force it to act up. Of course when I left the store, it worked fine again. It was fine for a few days, acting up only a time or two, but I drove 45 minutes to the Apple store. My Genius Bar member told me it was software based and that I should restore the phone, download the software again, and manually add my media back on. After the four+ hours of downloading and 2+ hours of adding media, it was fine again. That was about two weeks ago. Now it's back. I looked into the diagnostics (what I can see through the noise on the screen) and I have many different errors going on. Googling these errors codes is not providing much information, and again, I am not the best with this stuff. SO:-Is a latestcrash.plist or mediaserverd.plist the same as a panic.plist code? In turn, if they are, will Apple replace the phone as they supposedly do in the case of panic.plist crashes? -I've noticed a bunch of the issues seem related to audio and video functions on the phone. I have AudioToolbox, CoreFoundation, and CoreQuartz codes, for example. Are these things that would justify a replacement? I am sitting through another 4 hour software download right now in order to restore the phone again, but am afraid to lose that diagnostics info, but also cannot see the screen to send any diagnostics info to Apple. Is this something that is software based? does that mean I am going to be doing this every few weeks? The phone is only 6 months old, but I don't want to let it go and loet the one year manufacturer's warranty. I apologize for being so verbose but I really cannot find anything online that sounds similar to what my phone is doing. Any guidance would be much appreciated.
My 4S is on 6.1.3 is draining battery like crazy. I've turned Siri off and most location services and I close all my apps after I use them. I've done the Microsoft Exchange fix thing and nothing works. I'm a long iPhone user and this makes no sense to me. Help Please
Can I get my iPhone 5 coated by Liquipel? They claim that LCI will be intact in water exposure after their treatment. Is this true? As long as the LCI is intact, is my iPhone 5 still covered by the warranty?
I am tired of my iPhone 4S already after suffering through issues upon issues with the device. My screen is having issues now where at a moment's chance it goes dim. I have to reset the device to get the brightness back to normal. I've tried restoring without any luck of this resolving. Another gripe I have is that I'm continuing to have issues with apps like Mail, Safari, and other Apple installed apps just continuously force closing. I've been sending emails back and forth on my iPhone only to have Mail force close and I lose everything in my message. The phone acts sluggish and performs worse than previous 4S devices I've owned. I've had issues upon issues across multiple iPhone 4S devices. The device I have currently is my 5th iPhone 4S and even tho its less than a few months old after it was sent to me after multiple filler iPhones of refurb models from the store, I continue to experience issues that make me use my iPhone less and less as it becomes more unreliable with the crashes and multiple restores. My closest store is not within close distance so that's made owning an iPhone with issues difficult as not every thread on the communities forum touch on half the problems I continue to have. Thankfully at least Siri knows where I'm located compared to my other devices where she always thought I was in Pittsburgh where I picked the phone up at my nearest store over an hour and a half away. Now everything just seems to be more of a deficiency with iOS and the hardware than anything. Obviously there must be something wrong with the latest stocks of 4S devices if my issues are continuing. When I restore I'm always setting up as a new device. I'm never downloading or redownloading anything from my Mac or PC. Everything is just redownloading apps from iCloud within the App Store and having a ton of missing photos in my photo stream. I just don't understand what is wrong with my iPhone. I never experienced these kind of issues with my iPhone 3GS so its hard to swallow how terrible the 4S has performed with every single device I keep getting. I'm at a loss on what I can do. does anyone have any tips I should try that Apple hasn't provided me with to fix or at least band-aid the issue long enough till I can upgrade with my carrier?
Haven't had my iPhone for long (around November for my birthday) and for about the last couple of weeks recently I have had major trouble with the battery charge. At first I thought it was the cables, so I got new one after new one and they'd work but then stop working. Until the last one I just purchased, it pretty much stopped charging the phone straight away. No lightening or sound response, no connection via computer etc. So, when my charge ran out I still had it plugged into my computer and now my phone only chargers when it's off when it's plugged into a USB port (bear in mind, it doesn't connect to iTunes-it says USB is unrecognized although it still chargers the phone when off). However, it charges fairly quickly when off but when in use the charge diminishes just as quick as it takes to charge. Not only that but now whenever I wish to turn my iPhone off, it turns itself back on. I have recently sent off my phone to the Apple store to have it checked over and it came back to me saying they couldn't reproduce the symptons I had mentioned so there was me thinking everything was fine but nope, still faulty. So a bit disappointed with paying £7.00 for delivery to have nothing been done about it (not only that, but the phone as also out of charge when returned so it just seemed like my phone wasn't looked over one bit). Also a bit disappointed and annoyed at the fact I'm still paying for my monthly contract for the phone when I am unable to use it!!! I haven't damaged the phone (it basically looks brand new) and haven't exposed it to any liquids. The USB port on my phone where I charge it seems clear too. The annoyance of having to send it back to Apple costing me more money is offputting so does anyone have any other suggestions? I'm going to my local 3 store to see if they can help me out but I'm just a bit fed up now. Can see this is a popular problem amongst other iPhone users too. Many thanks! (Oh and need to add I HAVE updated everything on my phone, restored everything, restarted etc.)
I have an iPhone 4S. In January, I started to notice that it would die at 30-40%. Gradually, it started to stay stuck at 100% almost all day then die around 60-70%. Then it went completely bonkers. It would go from full charge to 15% to 0% in minutes. Plug it in and it would go from 0% to fully charged instantly. I took it to Genius Bar, diagnostics showed the battery was fine and they told me to restore it and set it up as a new phone. That didn't solve the problem. Went back that day and this time, the diagnostics showed the battery was bad so they replaced it. It worked normally for a little bit before it started doing the same thing again. So I took it back and they replaced the phone. After a few weeks, the same thing happened with the new phone... stuck at 100% for a long time, dies at ~70% (keep in mind I set it up as a new phone so rule out any software issues from a previous backup of the original phone). At this point, I'm thinking it's a faulty charger or something that's screwing up the hardware. So I was back in the Apple Store again. They replicated the problem and told me to restore the phone and set it up as a new device. Having been through this before, I asked them to restore it right then and there because I knew it wasn't going to fix it. Sure enough, it happened after the restore. So they replaced the phone again. That was three weeks ago. I started using a completely different charger (Apple charger, not third-party) and even changed outlets, but the new phone is doing the same thing again. Over the weekend it died at 48%, then 50%, now 56%. I don't know what to do anymore. I can probably go get the phone replaced again, but it probably won't make a difference. Any suggestions? I've done several hard resets, tried to calibrate the battery, let it run out completely and sit there for a couple hours before plugging it back in...nothing works.

Hey everyone I have been holding back from updating my iOS on my iphone 4s (I know - not a smart move) I am currently still on 5.1.1 and trying to update to 6.1.3 (finally) from the phone itself (not via iTunes) I am trying to downlaod and install the update using Wi-Fi connectivity, but it just wouldn't let me? Kept saying An Error occured while downloading... It didn't give me any error code or any other explanation. It just simply won't update I know it was silly of me to begin with for not updating for so long, but I don't understand why my phone is rejecting the update? If this is even what is happening.. Also I sent my iMac for repair recently, came back with a Lion (which was what I had on there previously anyway) but it wasn't updated? So I couldn't just open iTunes and restore all my contacts.. AND I am still currently in the process of downloading the updates - but something always happens as well, an error occured that I have to re-download the update, internet drops on and off, etc. -- The reason I wanted to update was (this is a whole separate problem) my 4s kept crashing the apps, not doing anything out of ordinary - it just crashes everytime i start or a open an app. So I would hard reset my phone (turning it off and on again) and then I would find all my contacts gone. No other entries are gone, just my contact names! All messages and calendar entries are all still there - just no contact names in my address book. ***? After sleuthing here and there, and found no real solution to this problem. I decided to update my iOS because one of the discussion thread I found told me to try that. Heck, why not. SO I tried uploading and this is where I end up.. does ANYONE have any idea what the **** is going on? does anyone else out tehre have the same problem? Surely this is not just me!!
I have an iPhone 4S that seems to work fine until the battery runs flat to the point there is no response when I press the sleep or home butons, the screen is just blank... When I plug into a charge point it will not take a charge. I have taken it to be repaired a couple of time and the guy a he mall fixes it in just a few mins and charges me 40 bucks. So long as I charge it before it goes dead flat I have no problem recharging or recognizing the phone on iTunes.Any help would be greatly appreciated...
I have that router and it's working great with my iPhone 4.The security I use on both the 2.4ghz and 5ghz is "WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES]" mainly for compatibility with older devices. You may also want to try and set the 2.4ghz wireless speed to "Up to 130Mbps" instead of "Up to 300Mbps" via the router settings > Wireless Settings on the top left, because I found some devices have connectivity problems or do connect and then run incredibly slowly on the "Up to 300Mbps" for some reason.
Hi guys, I've used apple for 5 years now. Started with an Iphone 3GS and since then I could not use any other brand as a Cel Phone, and I tried, believe me I tried. I used an Iphone 4 for 3 years without having any problem, without having to even call Apple. Then, by the end of the last year I went to London for a trip. I bought an Iphone 5 and came back to my home country, that is Brazil...Used it for 4 months or so and it started having problems with the wake and sleep button, then I thought, "ok, apple is a worldwide company, they are reliable, that's the main reason for me to have bought it for so long and the phone still in warranty, they will trade it for me" so I called apple...For the first time in 5 years...And I did not get answered properly. Apple states that since I bought the Iphone in london, they warranty can only be used for trading the phone in london...I have no intentions of going to london this year, what meand I will lose my warranty and the money I spent with my Iphone. To clarify, I did go to Washington for a better support, but they stated the same...I called apple and they stated that the Iphone is broken and needs to be traded but it can only be done in london. An analyst called James Downs told me to call apple regent street that's the one where I bought the Iphone and when I called there for getting my money back because they are not providing the proper support for my iphone they state that I need to take the Iphone to the store... End of the story, I have a broken Iphone, I am frustrated with apple, because they are acting as they do not care for the costumer at all. In my point of view, they should escalate the problem, call the brazilian store and trade my phone or ship me a brand new one. I took the iphone to different stores in different countries that I have access and so far nothing. Apple does not care, my iphone is 4 months old and is already broken...If nothing is done I'll be very frustrated, I'll be at least ****** because it seems I'll not have my money back because the store states they will not do that even though an apple consultant says it and I have no way of taking the phone to the store. Please, can anybody from apple help me with that? I really want my phone or my money...If you can just ship me a new one I'll be ok with that..But you should do something, you are apple, not some other ****** company around the world, will you not honor your brand?
Hello! I have had issues with my iPhone 4S since the day I got it. I have been to the apple store more times than I can count and every time it's some stupid excuse or half assed attempt to fix my phone. Well now I am out of warranty and they told me there is nothing they can do. I have all kinds of problems, from battery issues to apps not working to the screen freezing on me, etc. Every time I go they tell me it's an issue with the software and reset my phone to factory settings. I set up the phone as new and then bring over a small amount of pics, music files and apps. I never restore from back up. The most current issue is the phone drains to 1% battery and when I plug it in to charge, it acknowledges the charger but won't charge. The phone then dies and I am unable to turn it on for at least 48 hours. This has happened twice now. Apple ran diagnostics and said everything was fine and it was probably a corrupt file. We again reset it to factory settings and I was instructed to not bring over any files. I then used the phone for one day and it happened again. I also have not been able to back up to iCloud since I got the phone. The backup always fails. I am desperate at this point and apple will not replace the phone because it is out of warranty. I never had issues backing up to iCloud or with my files on my iPhone 4. My husband plugs his phone into the same computer and has no issues with a corrupt file. Any thoughts or suggestions on what I should do?
I've had my iPhone since release date. Everything has been working great up until about a week ago. The phone has an amazing battery life, I guess an update fixed that for me. But now my iPhone will reset itself out of no where 3-4 times a day at random times. The keyboard will get stuck on the screen after entering something and clicking done. Also the iPhone will freeze (I've tried leaving it for as long as a half an hour) and be totally unresponsive. I usually have to use the sleep/wake button in combination with the home button just to reset the phone so it works. It also randomly drops and won't connect to my home wifi at all, I also have a iMac, MacBook Pro, iPad mini, iPad 3, iPhone 3, 3GS, 4, 4S and all of these work flawless with zero problems on my wifi network. My warranty is out in September, but I'm worried about going to an apple genius and having them ask me to re create the problem. What if it doesn't happen at that time? What can I do?
Hello every body, When I go to Bouygues Telecom's TV, it makes a very long time. Five minutes after, I switch off because it's too long. I am Bouygues Telecom's customer. Why ? Thanks a lot.
the man on the phone told me to jailbreak my iphone so i could get iOS 5 back.. but by jailbreaking a phone you lose the warranty anyway... considering this is apple's fault (iOS 6 has ruined my 4s capability to connect to wifi) ( and my girlfriend has as 4s on iOS 5 and that still connects fine ) i think they should be doing more i am a long time apple customer but i think this has made me want to swap back to being a windows user and maybe getting the samsung or HTC
I recently noticed I have a small crack at the top of my iPhone 4 screen. The crack is about 1 cm long and is curved. I'm worried the crack will start to spread if I drop it again! Is there anyway I can get the crack fixed asap? Or for a cheap cost? I don't exactly want to replace the whole screen but if that's necessary then I guess I'd have to. I'm only 13 so I can't drive to the Apple Store whenever. Thanks guys!
I have an Iphone 5 with the 6.1.3 software. This week about 5 of my apps had an update. Since the update i noticed that my iphone's battery life has been horrible. It takes twice as long to charge and it drains twice as fast. I have my setting for brightness turned all the way down, push notifications turned off, and pretty much i have to manually update everything on my iphone. I had these setting for a while now and all of a sudden my battery life stinks. Any ideas?
My @me.com account was compromised this morning and im trying to reset my password. Ive been trying the link on this site and entering my apple id but keeps telling me the session has timed out. Dont understand as im not taking long and dont know why else the session would end? Pls help me find an alternative way to reset :)
I noticed a long time ago that when you search in appstore app, if you download app and go to homescreen and try the app, and then go back to app store app, it switches from like 50th app to first all the time. Imagine there are 400 pages, and every time trying to get to 200th page. it's just terrible. Why does apple do that?
to cut a long story short. I was interested in an i-phone... got the details..checked them all.. on the phone and with the provider, VODAPHONE... told unlocked, not stolen etc etc. proceeded to buy the phone...new sim topped up £10 only to find it wouldn't work... Went into vodaphone store..been running around following thier advice..(they said I need a friend who is a customer on vodaphone to get passed the unlocking with a vodaphone code.. and they would do it for free given the circumstances...so i run errands go back and forth doing as they asked...got nowhere) SO IT IS NOW A MONTH LATER..and after complaining and complaining to thier email site and repeatedly asking for help in store..I am stumped as what to do and just have a glorified ipod. I WILL NOT BE FORCED TO REMAIN ON THE VODAPHONE NETWORK given the situation they have put me in and thier unwillingness to help so i refuse to use the phone with vodaphone... BUT WHAT can i do PLEASEEEEEEE? all they keep on suggesting is that I get the original owners details but he is not answering anything...and the phone is not registered as stolen etc so what is the problem!? As you can imagine I am really peeved by the whole thing as I actually carried out all the necessary checks, and whilst the phone was not bought directly from vodaphone, I went to them as the provider, to find otu about unlocking etc as it is always advised to do so..and it was them that gave me the wrong information but they still will not resolve the issue. I have even sent them phone records to confirm when I rung and the name of the invalid who told me the phone was unlocked in the first place. I really would much appreciate any help as they are ignoring my emails now.
Hi! I recently upgraded to iphone 5 with Orange and had just got myself a 24month contract but after a couple of weeks, the worst happend - I managed to drop my lovely new phone down the toilet! Anyway long story short, I am going to order a new iphone 5 online with Apple and it will be unlocked. What I'd like to know is will there be any problem putting my orange contract sim in an unlocked iphone 5? I don't want to fork out for the phone and then find out my sim won't work. `My contract and sim is for iphone 5 so I'm guessing it won't be a problem, but thought i'd just check anyway. Thanks in advance for any answers!
Yesterday I was texting one of my friends when we got into a text bomb match thing when I sent a really long message like 100,000 characters my phone foreclosed the messaging app and everytime I have tried to foreclose it after hitting the home button twice it pops up with a blank little preview of what the messaging app would look like without any messages or options. Recently my iPhone 5 (which is less than six months old) has started having problems. When I plug it in to charge (via the iPhone 5 cord into a wall charger) the plug symbol appears on the battery rather than the lightning bolt charge symbol, and the percentage remains at a fixed percentage no matter how long I charge it for. When I unplug the phone the percentage may read, for example, 37%, within half an hour that may change to 83% and minutes later it will read 2%. Also, the screen has once turned blue with black stripes, a fully blue screen for about half an hour, and once when composing a message, white and black stripes. My phone will also repeatedly turn on and off. Is this a problem that can be isolated to the battery? Is it a more extensive hardware problem? My phone has not been dropped or wet or had anything physically untoward happen to it.
The button on my iPhone 4 is stuck and does not work so i can not press and hold the home button and the power button to reboot it. I tried to reset my iPhone throught the Settings in General. Once I did that the screen went black with the little loading circle in the middle like if I turned it off and stayed like that for the past 2 hours and it won't stop. it's not frozen because the circle is moving (loading) but it's been over 2 hours and I've tried everything. I'm not sure if it takes that long.
I have 5.77 GB in "other" used on my iPhone 4S memory. I can notFigure out what other is. I have seen in diagnostic and usage ( in general-usage ) there is a bunch of diagnostics files to be sent to Apple thatI have turned off and is still sitting there. Might be 10 files in lengthof text but I can't see it being over 5 gb. does anybody have ideas what other could be and how to figure it out.
Have to wait for iPhone to be dead or off to see that it has a connector plugged in. When dead it charges until it turns on then stops charging. Have had this problem on and off for a year, never got it fixed or seen as it costs more than I can afford. The following has been tried and did not work : -apple power adapter w/apple connector-3rd party power adapter-apple and 3rd party connectors-plugging into laptop/computer/docking station Have tried multiple cables, chargers and computers. The phones never really liked charging properly. Im surprised its lasted this long. running ios 6.1 (10B142) Any help would be awesome.
I'm only recieving about 10% of the normal notifications from my favorite apps... Skype: never unless I'm using the phoneWhatsapp: only when the phone is idle for long periods of timeTwitter's notifications haven't worked until I set foot in Italy this past weekend. The moment I crossed the border, it all started working. Nothing has changed other than I am studying in Europe instead of the USA. Are there any things I can check in iOS before hunting down the developers of the apps? iOS 6.1.3 on an iPhone 4S
help!!! i have always been a fan of apple, had numerous iphones & ipods, at some point these have been broken and ive repaired cause apple take so long! my 4s was stolen so i bought a 16gb 4 GSM from a friend, i had it matter of 30mins max and dropped it, smashed front glass/digitizer! so i replaced it with oem parts, before the home button was fine! but now when i press the home button it sticks down and then voice control comes up if it dont stick down it doesnt work at all so i press it a few times to sorta force it to work and then multitasking comes up, i litterally cant get back to the springboard unless i turn phone off then on again! ive taken the phone appart clean the HB connections and clean the HB itself but problem still there!! can anyone help?? will i need a new home button or is there a way to fix this?
I purcahsed my iPhone not too long ago but a wire in my charging adapter has come loose and stops the iPhone from charging. does my warranty cover me to get a new one or do I have to go in store and pay for a new one?
Hi, we purchased a new iPhone 5 16 GB in balck through our business account with Vodafone. We’ve had this phone just under 2 month and it has had a battery issue that seemed to only get worse by time. We tried the usual fixes by applying the latest iOS and doing a complete restore to factory settings with no results. The battery would not hold charge for long and the user had to keep constantly charging it through the day. We’ve had similar issues in the past with iPhone 4 and the 4S to which the fix was always to take the iPhone back to the Apple store and get it replaced under warranty. When I went to the Apple store after inspecting the phone they told me that they can not service nor replace the phone as it had “Random Code Stickers” on the inside of the phone which are not consistent with any repair work done in any Apple repair store and that a “water sensor “ attached to the inside of the screen was missing as well as “Burn marks” to the back on the screen.Has anyone had a similar problem with their phone?
With iOS 6 if I long hold a photo from facebook or other app it asks to save photo but the photo does not show up on camera roll.
HiSent my IPhone 4S into service centre as it was not charging the battery anymore. They have told me that there is physical damage to the dock connector and that i have to pay a "Fee".I spent a long time on the phone with them explaining that this is rubbish, the phone is always in a full case and i've always used the original sync cable, never rammed it in, never even found it tight or anything, etc etc. There is no way that the dock has been damaged so i suggested that something may have failed in the connector itself and then when i have plugged the sync cable in it has caused the issue? They totally dismissed this and told me to make the choice - pay the fee or have a dead iphone back.I am not prepared to accept this, my iphone gets treated like the crown jewels and no way has it been subject to damage - i want to know if i received it back and took into a genius bar to explain would there be a chance they would repair or replace (The phone is still in the 1yr warranty)Any advice or assistance would really be appreciated - my long standing faith in APple is dimishing very fast!
hey guys i bought my iphone 4s about 4 months ago, and about month ago when i came back from camping i turned on my iphone wich was turned of for about 5 days (at home in my drawer). i had 9 updates listed on the app store and let them update all off them at the same time. meanwhile i was also on a Viber call.(using wifi) then after 10 minutes or so the call died.the wifi could not connect anymore and later the wifi option turned grey and could not be turned on or off.i reset the iphone , and also rebooted the device . still the wifi option remained grey.during this period after, the iphone also was turning very hot at times and the battery could not hold longer then 4 hours. about 2 weeks after the wifi option turned grey, one morning when i got up i realised that my battery percentage was still high(usually if i went to bed with 100% , it was about 50%or so when i got up.). then i went to the wifi option and realised that i could turn it on.it got connected to the wifi and check if it was working by opening facebook. i was functioning normally as if nothing had happened. i remember that night was really cold and i had my airconditioning on . that same day i realised the wifi could not stay connected for long to wifi . the battery issue remained normal when the wifi cant connect i put the iphone in the refrigarator for about ten minutes. and when i take it out the wifi works again after that the wifi can hold for about an 2 or more depending on what i do on my phone. i did no try to take it for repair , not yet i just want to know if im the only one with this problem and what the problem really is.and if putting youre iphone in the refrigarator can do damage. thanks in advance
Hi! I fell into a pond yesterday at around 10am with my iphone 5 in my shorts. I was in the water for about 3 seconds, got back up and turned off my phone. I wiped dry and let it air dry for about an hour. When i got home at night, 1030pm, i checked the forums, and found the keep it in rice fix. So, i took out the sim and placed it in a ziplock bag with rice. Then I found a link in apple support on how to check the wet indicator of my iphone. Checked it, and it was still white. How long do I have to keep it in rice? I have a 730am alarm set for every morning, but it did not go off this morning. Was that normal? I have my fingers and toes crossed while i am typing this. Hope everything will be fine.
I've had my iPhone since October 21st, 2012. This is a white, 16gb AT&T iPhone 5. The issue here is the ONLY way to get my iPhone to play sounds is to have headphones in. It plays no sounds whatsoever unless its using headphones or during a call on the speaker by the from facing camera. I've tried turning my phone on and off, updating it to iOS 6.1.3, restoring the settings to factory settings, restoring my phone, then using a backup. I've tried the q-tip in the headphone jack, and pushing on the bottom right side of the phone for 10 seconds. It's only had a very, very small amount of water in it maybe 3 weeks ago. I rarely drop it, and I do my best to keep it in great condition. The first time I noticed the issue with no sound is right after I tried to use FaceTime, using speaker phone. I'm hoping there is someway to fix this without having to drive all the way up to the nearest Apple store and hassle with them. Any more suggestions, I'd gladly appreciate it.
Hi, What problems are you facing? It does not take too long if the problem isn't too big. Hope this helps. Cheers!
I left the apple store fast due to the fact i was in a bad car accudent and i am in a wheelchair and cant stay seated like that long due to a broken leg. It randomly will pop up message saying something like it needs wifi but I have wifi at my house. It also pops up another message something like it needs to finish restoring it and asks if I want to download it all and I click on it it to but it goes away after that and nothing pops back up. I also can't install the new update it says I have I finish the retire then do it. My photo album is also stuck at whatever number of photos I have taken in the new phone that number of 300 something. It just says its downloading it. I have no clue what to do. Also my iCloud backup I looked and it says I have 2.2 gb left then that the backup is 2.7 gb. I'm very confused what options I have and can't find an answer anywhere please help me!
I have accidently erased my phone from 'find my iphone' app and my phone has completely gone! Everythings gone! My photos and my messages! I have backed it up but have not backed it up for a long time! And everythings is old and my new things have gone! How can I get my photos and messages back? PLEASE HELP!! IAM PROPER STRESSED NOW!!!
Noticed last night for the first time; as long as LS are turned on, the icon is apprearing in the corner -- even if no apps are running. Done multiple resets and memory cleaning, as well as turning off every app in the quick-start bar, but the arrow icon is stil there. No new apps. We're in the middle of moving, so until I get my computer set up in my new place I can't do an iTunes sync to see if that solves it. Anyone else ever have this? Any suggestions?
I was charging it and listening to pandora when my phone started to feel really hot! I couldn't really touch it. The USB port that plugs into the outlet was hot, along with the actual USB plug in. And then the plug that goes into the phone was very hot too, and the bottom of the phone where the charger goes in was hot. So, in long story short, everything was hot. That was the first time I experienced that, and it scared me so I quickly unplugged the cord and it started to cool down. Not it is completely cooled, the phone, and the cord, and when I try to plug it in again to charge it doesn't charge. I thought maybe it was just the cord. So I got a different one, and it still didn't work. I even tried plugging it into the computer, and still no luck. Some additional information, I was using an extension cord, and was laying in bed. I also have been experiencing issues where the phone would be plugged in, and say that 'it is not supported' or something like that, and would stop charging. And also earlier today I upgraded my phone system to the 6.1.3 Please help!!!!! Will I have to send it in? I hope my phone isn't completely dead! :(
Hello, Can any one tell me how long does Apple keep messages sent via iMessage in the iCloud (or anywhere else)? Thanks
My battery for my iPhone 5 is not lasting long any more. Is this a known problem?
