Hello everyone! I've got a problem with my iPhone 4S and I hope someone here can give me a hint on how to fix this... Last year in March I was on vacation in Las Vegas (I live in Austria/Europe) and bought a new unlocked iPhone 4S GSM in the Apple Store in the Forum Shops in Las Vegas including AppleCare+ (I just learned that iPhones can only be serviced in the Country where they are bought - my bad). Lately I was browsing through my Apple support profile and noticed that my iPhone was not registered there. So I tried to enter the serial number of the device and got this message:We're sorry, but this is a serial number for a product that has been replaced. Please check your information and re-enter your serial number. If your information is correct, you may need to contact us. I knew this could not be true so I called Apple Care here in Austria and first I was told that - according to its serial number - my iPhone has been replaced, and that it never should have been sold. I also was told that I have no chance of getting any service for this device despite the Care Protection Plan because the device is invalid due to its status as "replaced". And last but not least I was told that I could never receive any service for this device because American devices cannot be repaired in Europe (I was not aware of this fact and would have expected the salesperson in the Apple Store to tell me because I definitely told him that I am from Austria). Meanwhile I wrote an email to the store where I bought the iPhone from but it's two days now and I have not received an answer (or any indication that my email was received) yet. Is there anything I can do? Yours,Michael
to cut a long story short. I was interested in an i-phone... got the details..checked them all.. on the phone and with the provider, VODAPHONE... told unlocked, not stolen etc etc. proceeded to buy the phone...new sim topped up £10 only to find it wouldn't work... Went into vodaphone store..been running around following thier advice..(they said I need a friend who is a customer on vodaphone to get passed the unlocking with a vodaphone code.. and they would do it for free given the circumstances...so i run errands go back and forth doing as they asked...got nowhere) SO IT IS NOW A MONTH LATER..and after complaining and complaining to thier email site and repeatedly asking for help in store..I am stumped as what to do and just have a glorified ipod. I WILL NOT BE FORCED TO REMAIN ON THE VODAPHONE NETWORK given the situation they have put me in and thier unwillingness to help so i refuse to use the phone with vodaphone... BUT WHAT can i do PLEASEEEEEEE? all they keep on suggesting is that I get the original owners details but he is not answering anything...and the phone is not registered as stolen etc so what is the problem!? As you can imagine I am really peeved by the whole thing as I actually carried out all the necessary checks, and whilst the phone was not bought directly from vodaphone, I went to them as the provider, to find otu about unlocking etc as it is always advised to do so..and it was them that gave me the wrong information but they still will not resolve the issue. I have even sent them phone records to confirm when I rung and the name of the invalid who told me the phone was unlocked in the first place. I really would much appreciate any help as they are ignoring my emails now.
hello everyone i just got my mothers old Iphone 4s(believe it is a 4s rather then just a 4) and i called into orange (UK carrier) and i got the sim i called an activated it all fine put sim in phone try to activate the phone, and it won't let me keeps telling me my sim is invalid anyone know how to fix this, they did say that i would get texts about the sim over the next 12 hours and it would take a little time for it change from my old phone but my old phone is already saying no service which means it's been transfered over
Hi All, My brother had gifted me an iphone 6 months back. He had bought this phone from Dubai. It was unlock phone when he bought it from shop.Recently there was some problem so i have asked my brother to show this phone in apple service center. They said there is some problem and they have replace it. My brother got a new replacement iphone 4s. However when he sent that phone to India and i tried activating it for 1st time, it's saying invalid sim data and itunes shows that this phone is unlock and can not be activated. IMEI no of my phone is 013180009926952, please can some one let me know what to do in this situation. Who will unlock it now. Thanks.

I updated my i phone and they ask 4 SIM and i lost mine and i'm not in USA so how can i get a new SMI ???OR is there any way to activiate it ?!?!?!
Hi all. I've already tried asking this elsewhere, but haven't really had much luck with help other than "it has to be a hardware issue". So, here goes. Note: it is far out of the warranty date, plus it's physically damaged. I have an iPhone 4 (16, I think) that was working aside from cracks in the screen. I saw it working a few months ago and it was given to me (it hasn't been used since). When I turned it on, it showed the iTunes and usb cable (indicating it needed restoring) so I tried restoring it (invalid build error I think). I kept trying again and again but got the 16xx error a few times. I have tried two different computers, different OSs, (one that didn't even ever have itunes installed) and I keep getting the same -1 error at the very very end of the restore. Early on, I was able to get it to boot and get to a passcode screen but then it said the iPhone needs to be restored after I unlocked it. It's almost like it's restoring fine and then suddenly it doesn't verify at the end with apple's servers or something. My apartment's wifi goes through an isp with security of some sort, I'm sure. Could that be an issue? I feel like it almost restores it but then it fails right at the end. Here is one of the logs--this one is the latest -1 error. It is abridged since most of it wouldn't fit. I don't know how to attach the full log. I got an Iphone 4 in the UK on an O2 contract a year ago, i used it for a year and some months and went back home . I unlocked it back home and came back to the UK and still used it with my O2 sim. I went back once again, used it, and this time when i came back andtried to use a different sim in it, even though the phone was unlocked, it said "invalid sim card". first i thought that maybe by restoring to factory settings might help but it didnt. My contract with O2 has been terminated, how can i use my Iphone 4 (not iphone 4S, not iphone 5) with a different , say for instance, Orange, sim card. Thank you
itunes could not connect to my iphone because an invalid response from my device how can i fix that ?? shall i make a master reset or what any 1 can help ??
I have a 64 kb micro SIM card from my carrier, but my iPhone won't recognize it. However, it says No SIM instead of invalid SIM, although the card is inserted. I had trouble trying to activate my phone at home using this SIM, but when I took it to my carrier, they could do it for me without any problems. After the activation, the phone said invalid SIM (my service plan hadn't been activated back then), but having turned it off and on, it said No SIM Inserted.I have tried the troubleshooting steps, but nothing helped. The SIM card works with another phone (not an iPhone). I have heard that iPhone 4S has a hard time using 64 kb SIM cards, so I'd like to ask if this could be solved by asking for a 128 kb micro SIM from my carrier. I am starting to get desperate because I don't think my phone still has warranty, and right now I can only use it as an expensive iPod touch.
Hi I bought a factory unlocked 16GB iPhone 5 from USA. When I insert Airtel (india) nano sim, it says Sim not valid. I checked with an apple store, they say it's locked to AT&T. But it was supposed to be an unlocked phone (649$ + taxes). Though before the activation, an update came - 6.0.2. I did that. Does that remove the unlocking from the factory unlocked phone ? Model number : MD634LL/A
I have got an iPhone MC605J version 6.0 soft bank iphon 4 but unable to use it in India. I am trying to use Airtel sim but the phone is showing invalid sim. So please help me out to unlock it.
I have put my iphone in for repair and need to pay a fee for it to be fixed. I have clicked on pay for the repair and agreed to the terms and conditions yet when it asks me for the billing address, when I put my address in a message comes up in red saying 'The address contains invalid characters. Please make corrections and try again.' Can anybody tell me why it keeps saying this, no matter how I try and put my postcode in it still says this! All I want to do is pay for my phone to be repaired! Much appreciated.

Good afternoon, Kindly i am requesting an assistance to unlock my phone which my friend was trying to recover and I got the attached message, the card inserted is invalid. Some of my friends told me that i can purchase a license from Apple and unlock my iPhone directly from Applestore. I was searching for this but unfortunatly i could't find it. i got many websites requesting some information and credit cards to unlock my iPhone, but i prefer to buy and use my Credit Card only from apple store as i am buying many apps from my account which i logged in now. Appreciate your help to unlock my iphone. Kindly contact me back if i my problem can be solved. Thanks in advance for your collaboration. Thanks and Regards,Ihssan AwadaCountry: Angola

I updated to the iSO6 and my phone now keeps crashing while saying, "invalid SIM." What do I do?
I just recently bought the new iPhone 5 and it hasnt even been more than a month since I walked out of the Sprint store with it. Just yesterday it displayed a "Sim card failure" or/and a "Sim card invalid" message several times. I have tried restarting it and it solves the issue temporarily. I have also tried taking out the sim card using a paperclip then cleaning it then putting it back in. I've also tried the "Airplane Mode" solution and I've tried resetting the network settings. I have two questions, will sprint cover this and not charge me if i need to get a new sim card? Remember it hasn't even been a month since i've owned this phone. And yes I am running the latest software (6.0.1) And question number two: Is there any other methods to overcome this obstacle that I missed? It's pretty dissapionting to know that my entire family got 4s iPhones and my iPhone 5 is the one that goes bad. I do have a case on it but its an "incase" model and it seems to keep the phone rather cool compared to the fat, bulky, rubber cases. Please help, i'm planning on visiting a Sprint store after school but any feedback/experiences/recomendations would be great! Thank you!
I just updated my IPhone 5 to the iOS 6.0.1 and now I am getting invalid SIM and losing internet connection. Have used power + home button and done a reset network settings. It clears for a few minutes then starts again. Anyone else had this trouble and know what to do?
Hi, Hope someone has an answer to this . . . I just upgraded to an iPhone 4 yesterday at the AT&T store and had them transfer all my information from my 3GS to the new phone. Texted a couple people since then, no problem. Today, I tried texting again, and I get this error message: "+1 (1) (216) 116-11 Error invalid Number. Please re-send using a valid 10-digit mobile number or valid short code." I checked how the number was input into the phone - it only has the 3-digit area code and the 7-digit number. That is a10-digit number! I know the number is correct, because I called the person and the call went through. Anyone know how to fix this?
Well.....here we go again,To start off, Sprint says they're aware of the problem and they have rec'd a "workaround" to fix it. The good news is: it works if you're in a stable environment ( constant Sprint LTE or 3G signal)The bad news is: if you are in an area where the phone is searching alot (like ME in Atlanta), you will get this msg again. the Sprint Tech rep had me switch off the WiFi and verify through Safari that I was able to get cellular signal. She then sent an update to the phone, had me power it down and restart. I thought I was in the clear until the invalid SIM msg came up again. She said there was nothing else she could do about it on her end... Off to the Apple store I go.......
When I first got the iphone 5 the day it was sent out, I had a msg about an invalid sim car (Sprint) and they replaced the sim card and no problems until I upgraded to ios 6.0.1 yesterday, now the same msg again! Anyone else have this happen with upgrading to ios 6.0.1?
Can any one help me out ? Just downloaded the iOS 6.0.1 over the air and now I have invalid sim error and a significant battery drain on my iPhone 5. Thanks
I have about 4 email addresses synced to my iPhone. About a week or two ago one said randomly it had an invalid password (impossible). So I quickly went online to change everything. I've never had that as an issue before. I now get at least 10+ messages a day that are spam. I've started getting more spam linked to another email now as well. Reason I'm asking about it for the iPhone is because I've looked up things on Safari using my phone and some of the spam mail I get is related to some of my searches. So I'm kind of worried that there is some type of spyware/malware/virus? on my phone. Is this possible? And if so, how do I check it? I don't want to connect it to my computer because I don't want it spreading!
how come when i get an app they ask me for me to verify my banking info by putting in my security code in the back of the card. but when i do it says it is invalid? what do i do? do i go in or call to fix this problem?
I dropped my iphone4s in a cup of tea yesterday apple store replaced it & set everything up. Today I try to install all my apps that I had &already bought I tried to install facebook it ask for my apple id password i enter it everything is fine then it brings up my credit/bank card info up & asks for my security code. this is the 3numbers on the back of my card it keeps saying it's invalid! nothing has changed with my back account same as before. how can I either fix this or just enter a totally different card??? I need help!!
Hi, I have purchased a second hand iPhone 4 from the UK which was network locked to "3 Network". The original owner of the phone has requested the network to officially unlock the phone which has been done and confirmed. I brought the phone back home to South Africa and it didn't work with my home network SIM card (Vodacom). To activate the phone I had to get a prepaid 3 SIM card brought from the UK. What I have now is an iPhone with iOS 6 which can't make any calls or SMS's because my Vodacom SIM card still isn't working in the phone even after activation. The phone definitely works because I can pickup a signal with my 3 card, but I can't seem to unlock the phone and get it to accept my Vodacom SIM. It either says "No Service" or "invalid SIM". I have tried another SIM in the phone and I get the same problem and I have tried my Vodacom SIM in another phone and it works so there are no issues with the SIM card itself. At this point I am out of options so if anyone can help I'd much appreciate it. Thanks
Hi, I bought my Iphone via online. It doesn't have a free sim on it. I inserted microsim from my friend's iphone 4 but it always directs me to this "Only compatible sim cards from a supported carrier may be used to activate iphone...". How will I know its firmware and operating system if I cannot open my phone?. I am from Dubaiand when I read the forum here it says, I have to call the carrier/supplier of this phone. Please advise where i should addressthis issue given the following details of the phone: MC924LL/A Iphone 4s, White, 16gb.Carrier part No. 65491.Designed in California. Or should i only go to any Apple store and ask for that 128k microsim for Iphone 4s?
I'd like to investigate and get your comments about the battery life issues introduced with iOS 5, which iOS 6 failed to fix, only making it worse with even more services that potentially cause problems. It seems this doesn't affect everybody and always. For instance, Apple engineers using AT&T in cupertino do not seem very concerned by the issue, but if you are on Orange, Switzerland, it's another story. From my understanding, big battery drops (~10% / hour) are related to the way iOS handles bad cellular network conditions. Often, the iPhone will "think" it has cellular data available (o/E/3G icons next to the operator) where it actually won't be able to reach the operator and never receive a response. In this case, iOS will leave the 3G chip powered for several minutes until a timeout occurs, even having the phone locked. If mail is fetched every 30 minutes like me, it makes 5 minutes of usage per 30 minutes, and should easily drain your battery in one day.(Note that this will also happen every time you use the calendar for example, if it's synchronized with iCloud.) So first problem: a timeout way too long. It's an usual, but still annoying thing with OS X. Second thing, as long as iOS doesn't realize that the push connection is invalid (i.e. it thinks it has network but will actually not be able to receive anything) it's ok. If a small drop or change in connectivity happens though, the connection will be reinited, and that's where things get very bad. The connection may fail at that point: 5 minutes of battery usage (~2% battery), but iOS will try to reopen it right afterwards. If connectivity is not properly restored, 5 more minutes lost, and so on. This is shown as usage when you go to Settings > General > Usage.Yes, my mother did not use her iPhone 4S a single time after charging it yesterday, yet it was dead at the end of the day with 3 hours 30 minutes of usage. This do not happen on Android devices like my father's Galaxy S, who uses the same operator. For people who have battery life issues, have you observed something like this on your iPhone too?
My credit card is always coming up as invalid even though it is my correct details this is stopping me from downloading apps even free apps why is this?
What does invalid Sim mean? How do you fix it?
Hello,I need to delete my Apple ID and create a new one because recently I had to replace my card. I changed the number of the card in settings, but whenever I enter in the security code it tells me that it's invalid. I know that this is a common issue - I am entering in the information as exactly as possible (The only difference is, on my billing information, there is no title & I have a middle initial, other than this everything is exactly transcribed)But it keeps giving me the stupid error message so I want to delete my Apple ID and start a new one hopefully this will allow me to continue updating and purchasing new apps.
I activated my new iPhone 5 and in less than 36 hours it said "invalid SIM". I found on a support page to turn off and back on. Then it said "no SIM". Finally after removing and reinserting the SIM twice it started working again. I don't trust I not to happen again. Amy others having trouble? I want a new card.
I just got my phone yesterday, and when I went to make a call this morning, the iPhone had a "invalid SIM" issue. I rebooted the phone, and it worked directly after. I again went to use my phone, about 1 hour or so after the first incident, and again the same issue. Rebooted, and recovered. It now has happened 3 or 4 times, and am getting a little irraitated. It is just out of the box, and now already issue. Anyone have any insight?

I have had the iphone 4S since Feb 2012. I has been working fine until about 4 weeks ago when it started to do strange things like: 1. iphone would free to the on position. i could not turn it off. finally had to let the battery run down. when it was recharged it worked fine. it has done this several times over the last 4 weeks. does anyone know why this might be happening? 2 today there is a message in the top left hand corner of iphone which states: invalid sim. i am unable to text, phone out or receive emails nor send emails. the iphone has not dropped on the floor or been out of my possession. can anyone suggest a remedy to these problems? do i need to exchange for a new iphone? look forward to your comments. thank you.

I recently got my iphone4s jail broken, as I have moved abroad. Since putting in a new sim (vodaphone Egypt) the reception bars and 3g appears, but i am unable to connect to internet and has the waiting sign constantly running. The only way i seem to get onto internet and make call is if i make a call which it initialy fails.. then the reception bar goes to 'searching' then back on to full bars and 3g, but this only last for about 10mins or when i lock my phone, then i have to repeat the whole process again. also randomly ( not often) it goes to invalid sim. If i have a wifi connection the internet works fine everytime. Any ideas what it could be and how to fix it. could it be to do with the jail break? Thanks in advance
Who unlocked the iphone ,from new purchased from an Apple store or the carrierwho held the lock

I've been trying to get a free app but when I put in my password a pop will say "tap continue and sign in to view billing information" but when i press continue I have to reput my password and it asks for my security code and when I put it,it says invalid when I keep putting the correct code! I bought a refurbished iphone last weekend. I got my sim cut and it worked fine (I'm on o2 ireland). Then i took out the sim to transfer my contacts from my old phone and when i put it back in the iphone it says either "invalid sim" or "no service". The sim still works in my old phone and o2 said that its not locked and the fact that it worked once means it always should. They said something might be wrong with the aerial? Any ideas? should i just call apple support or is there anything else i can do?
