Push no longer working iPhone 3G

Guys, my Push seems to have stopped working. If I enter something on my calendar on my computer it doesnt automatically get Pushed to my iPhone. I have mobileme setup and have refreshed everything and still no luck. The same seems to be happening with my emails. In order for me to have updated emails on the phone I need to open up the Mail application and only then do I get recent emails. iPhone just stopped working 3G

I was on hold on the iphone and while waiting the screen blacked out and the spin icon appeared, when it finished its cycle I was left with an icon of a battery with a single red stripe on the left side ... below the battery image is a lighting icon.Any ideas what went wrong?!? This is my business line and when its down ... Im down : (Thanks for any suggestions ...Edit ...After sitting for a while the Apple icon appeared, iPhoto launched and now Im getting the message: Low Battery 20% of battery remaining ... so Im assuming the phone is recharging ... the little power icon on the upper right of the screen is white with a black lightning icon in the middle. Ringtone for individual contacts not working help iPhone

I have had my Iphone for a week or so and I can not get individual ringtones for each contact to work. The guy at the ATT store was kind enough to transfer my contacts from my old Razr. ALL my calls are reverting to the default tone. This is very irritating. I can not find any duplicate entries in my contact list. I am on the verge of wiping all my contacts and starting over. When prompted through i tunes that there was an updated software for my iphone I started that process. About two thirds of way way through an error notice appeared saying the up date had an unexpected error. my iphone now only shows a usb cable an an arrow pointing to an itunes icon and nothing else works. Increasing Issues With iPhone-Broken Vibrate Toggle Key Battery Charge 3G

Good morning,Im wondering if anyone has any good advice for my specific issue. First, let me start off by saying a few things:1 - I never use Apple products other than this phone, so I have no idea what to expect for support2 - my phone is about three months past the warranty end date, which probably means Im wasting my timeSo, a condensed version of this is that I received the iPhone as a gift from my wife for Christmas roughly 14 months ago. For the first 3/4 of a year or so it worked pretty well and I do enjoy using it; however, then the battery started lasting for less then a day if I used any apps (or watched any videos)for any amount of time and over the weekend my vibrate toggle button broke clean off. I have the phone in a protective case and its not like I drop it much anyways, but it seems a little ironic that now that the phone is over a year old and my warranty is gone the battery is getting useless and a button has broken off. If you throw in the wifi not working two or three times a week (until I reboot the phone) and the awesome high priced plan I pay every month to use it, I cant help but wonder if I should bother to get it replaced, or upgrade to a new one.my question is this: is there anything I can do to have this fixed without having to purchase a new/refurbished phone or since Im almost three months over my warranty am I out of luck? Please keep in mind Im about 5 hours away from any Apple store.

Yesterday, I was using my phone, when it went blank and just the apple logo would show. my home button isnt working, just the top button (cant remember what its called), but it just brings up the apple logo. Dropped calls can not find server wont connect to email iPhone 3G

This is my 3rd iphone, and honestly i swore by it when i first got it. Now after all the trouble i dont even know if it worth the trouble anymore. I have spent hours on the phone with At&T and they can not fix it. I have spent hours on the phone with apple and they cant fix it. Considering they just sent me one in the mail, he was hesitant to send me a new one, plus i could not afford another 400.00 hold on my credit card. The gentleman who assisted me assured me that my phone is not working correctly because my itunes is outdated. I tried to install the new version but it stalls and gets stuck at 75% of the way. And if i have had this version and the phone has worked why all of a sudden does the phone not work. Plus as if all this was not enough the new phone still drops calls. What the bleep man!! i payed a lot of money for this phone and i pay a lot of money a month for it. This is really aggravating that it still does not work. pc Windows XP

New Keyboard iPhone

Im expecting a little bit of hostility from those hardcore Apple users. But I shall continue.Im trying to get the Dvorak keyboard onto my iPhone. I dont want to hack my phone because then it will void the warranty and so therefore I have no interest of doing so. If anything, Im looking to suggest that Apple should add keyboard layouts for its various users. I want to use the Dvorak keyboard on my iPhone so that I will be constantly honing my skills and it will be easier for when I sit down on a computer. Im sure other iPhone users want the Dvorak keyboard.Now for all of those looking to discuss this in a civilized manner, please feel free to do so. For those that wish to argue that it would cost Apple millions or it would be too hard you would only solidify your lack of knowledge. Im a programmer focused on video game development and adding another keyboard layout would be incredibly easy. keyboard not working on portraitnormal mode iPhone 3G

ive only had my iphone 3g for about 4 months....it worked flawlessly at first but then the keyboard started acting up. the letters E, S, D, Z, X wont work when typing on portrait mode...i mean i can just switch to landscape and it will work but its quite annoying and inconvenient! i paid for my iphone so i would like for it to wrk perfectly. anyway, i dont know if its a hardware issue or software, because that area of the screen works every where else, but when using the keyboard thats when it gets unresponsive.id heard about the dead strip but dont think thats the case since the unresponsiveness isnt actually a strip its just those LETTERS on the keyboard. everything else works fine. please can someone shed some light onto why this is happening? Inactive iPhone not syncing 3G

Hey everyone...Im sure this question has probably been posted 100 times, but Im new, and this is the first i product Ive ever owned....anyways, a friend of mine knew I was about to purchase an iPod touch, but he had an iPhone 3G that hes no longer using, so he gave it to me and said it would work just like the Touch. I am able to get the WiFi on it, and everything seems to be working, except that I cant get my iTunes to transfer to it. When I connect it to my computer it recognizes that there is an iPhone present, and it gives me the option to sync. When I do, the phone says its syncing, but it only does so for a minute or so, and then there is no content in the iTunes...?? Can anyone help m with this? Thanks so much!! Windows XP

iPhone 3GS Black Screen

This past Tuesday I was finally able to get something Ive wanted for a very very long time: an iPhone 3GS. Its been working great since I got it, but I had an issue today that made me a bit worried. I hit the sleep button at the top to lock the phone before I put it in my pocket as I usually do, but the next time I pulled it out of my pocket the screen was black and wouldnt respond to any button presses. I tried for a while to get it to come back on, but the only thing that seemed to work was the hard reset or whatever its called, where you hold down the home button and the hold button at the same time for 10 seconds. However, even after doing this, the phone took an unusually long time to turn on, and when it did, the order of all my apps was reset to alphabetical after the default first screen, rather than the specific ordering I had them in before.Even though my phone seems to be working fine now, Im worried that this may be a sign of bad things to come. my phone is only a few days old and Im already having problems with it. is this something I should be concerned about and potentially take it in to have them look at it, or is just a weird quick that is bound to happen every once in a while when you have a phone that is essentially just a small computer?Any help would be greatly appreciated. I upgraded my iphone last november to a 3Gs, and ever since then, whenever I connect my phone i get this device can perform faster message. I have a sony VAIO with Windows XP Home (SP3).I am unequivocal that my PC is working fine and that all my ports are USB 2.0 as all my other USB 2.0 devices work perfectly, as have my previous iphones.This is becoming a real pain now as the simple task of adding a couple of songs takes ages! iPhone wont charge via USB

I have a brand new iPhone (2 days old). I also have a PC running Windows XP with the latest version of iTunes installed. Yesterday, when I received my phone I was able to connect to my PC successfully and Sync and charge my phone via a standard USB port.As part of this process my phone was upgraded to the latest version of iPhone O/sToday, for some inexplicable reason, I can sync but I cannot recharge my phone. Whenever I connect I get a message along the lines Charging is not supported with this accessory.FYI: (1) I am using a brand new Apple supplied USB cable. (2) I was using the same USB port as I did yesterday. (3) my phone wont recharge on any of the other 6 USB ports on my PC either.(4) All these USB ports are working correctly with other USB devices.(5) I have done a hard reboot of my iPhone(6) I have done a backup/reset/restore using iTunes and still no joy.The only idea I have is that I was using a slightly older version of the iPhone O/s when I first connected and now I am running a later version which, maybe, has some software glitch in relation to recharging ???Any help resolving this problem would be appreciated. iPhone iPhone OS 3.1.3

3G network Issues in Washington DC iPhone

FYI - my iphone is repeatedly giving the Call Failed notification when i am calling in 3G mode, so i called the mother ship. AT&T is working on their 3G network here until this afternoon (Wed, 02/17/10), so its not the phone. Switching off 3G is the easy work around (settings/general/network). MMS going to my email instead of Messages app iPhone

my MMS has been working fine since AT&T started offering it (except for getting pics from Verizon customers, but that is what it is). my wife and I have identical iPhones and theyve both been sending and receiving MMS messages normally. Then all of a sudden in the last two weeks, whenever my wife sends me an MMS message it goes to my email instead and shows up with a subject heading of Multimedia Message listed as being from an email address of (her mobile number)@mms.att.net. She is doing nothing differently than she ever did before when sending them. She still receives them correctly from me, and all others who send me MMS messages still go into my Messages app. Only the MMS from her are going to my email.Anyone else encounter this? AT&T support said they saw nothing odd with our settings on their end and cant figure out why its happening. Still having trouble since attempting 3.1.3 Update iPhone 3G

Further to my reply to cannot update iphone 3g with new os (which I have included below) I have found another post which showed me the difference between Recovery mode and DFU. Ive tried this but have no idea if I have been following the instructions correctly. I have no idea if the iPhone is on or off and the only time its icon disappears from iTunes is when I press both wake/sleep & Home together, but that doesnt really follow the instructions correctly.I just want the latest version, working. is there a way to try and download the latest version and try again? I cant seem to find that option in iTunes. As Im not sure if Im following the instructions for DFU and what to do afterwards, Im at a lost there as well.Help?Ive having the same problem here and await any help.I am running windows Vista, have the latest iTunes (9.0.3.15), and have just tried to upgrade. I did Sync before trying to upgrade so luckily I havent lost too much, what ever happens in the end.After my original attempt, I was told that there was an error 6 and that I needed to restore (I think, that was several hours ago and I have had further messages after) I pressed restore and a vicious cycle began. To explain, Ive re-started the computer and iTunes. I have plugged in the iPhone after the re-start and received a message from iTunes saying that it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode and that it needs to be restored. I press Ok and the only option presented by iTunes is Restore. I have clicked Ok and Restore several times now with the same result. ITunes talks to the iPhone, installs Software and Firmware, checks and confirms the installation, says it was successful and that the iPhone is shutting down and restarting and not to disconnect from the computer. This is where the iPhone shuts down for a little time and iTunes tells me it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode and that it will need to be restored, again. From here, the cycle starts again.In addition to this, I have tried manually restarting and resetting the iPhone by pressing the Sleep/wake button with no luck and I have attempted to reset by pressing the sleep/wake button and the Home button as per the instructions found here in the support area.Can anyone here help with any suggestions, or where else I can ask for help? iPhone

Personalized Ring Tones not working iPhone

I have several ringtones assigned to differing individuals. Recently two things have happened: 1) the picture associated with the person appears, but not on the whole screen like it used to; just in a small square at the top. and 2) the persons specific ringtone no longer rings...just the tone I have assigned to generic calls. The ring tones are honestly obtained and paid for. They are attached to the particular contacts and they work when attaching. But they arent working when the individual calls. Ideas? Voicemail setup strange iPhone

I purchased an iPhone a couple weeks ago, and due to dropped calls returned it. After a week with another carrier (and an inferior phone), I realized that I couldnt live without the iPhones many assets. I just got a new iPhone today, and the voicemail setup was different than what I remember from my first one. Both were 3g S phones.This time when I hit the voicemail button on the screen it called voicemail and made me go through the old school setup process with the automated voice. is this common? Phone Stuck on Connect with ITunes-Nothing works so far iPhone 3G

Everything was working fine until iTunes requested an update. Since then iTunes does not recognize the iPhone. The iPhone wont reset, restore just keeps the Connect to iTunes despite re-downloading the software, Checking my USB, changing plugs, profile, turn on and off computer. Frozen on apple logo iPhone 3G

I dont know if anyone else has this problem, but sometimes my battery wont show that its dying and then on a phone call it dies all the way. Well, when I turn it off and turn it back on again it starts working just fine and the battery shows me how much it has left. I did that today, and when I turned it back on it just stayed on the Apple logo. Its been like that for about an hour now. I plugged it into my computer, and nothing changed and iTunes didnt read it either.Does anyone know what to do? windows live SMS iPhone

I have an iPhone 3G, and it used to be able to send and receive SMS messages from windows live. So, if I wasnt on the computer, if someone needed to talk to me through messenger, they could just message my phone. And then for some reason, it stopped working. I dont know why, but I tried to fix it by re registering my phone at windows live and it took me to the Set up SMS for Windows Live section and I had to enter my number, and then it was supposed to send a verification code to my phone - but it didnt. Like I said, it used to work all the time up until a week ago and then it just stopped, so Im not sure why it isnt working anymore =/. I know it wasnt because I added anything new because it was working perfectly one day and then the next day it wasnt working at all. Apple mobile device service has stopped working-continues iPhone 3G

HiI have a 16GB iPhone with 02 in the UK.my first iPhone with 02 had trouble receiving calls with about 90% of incoming calls going straight to voice mail. I also couldnt backup that phone as every time I tried with iTunes, i got the message Apple mobile device service has stopped working about a minute into backup.This happened continually, I re-installed iTunes so many times, still with little luck. I tried a different cable too. All on a brand new Dell Vostro desktop PC.So, I took the phone back to 02 with these problems. 02 promptly replaced my iPhone.Now, I have exactly the same problem. I obviously have nothing to restore on the iPhone as I was never able to back it up in the first place.Every time I try and backup the iPhone I get the error Apple mobile device service has stopped working. Pairing iPhone with Windows Laptop stopped working 3G

I paired my phone with my Windows Vista x64 laptop and now it will see the phone but will not pair. iTunes wont recognize iPhone 3G

Recently iTunes stopped recognizing my iPhone. I am using a PC laptop, running XP SP2, iTunes v.9.0.3, iPhone v. 3.1.2 -- I have been through the Apple iPhone support pages help recommendations including 1. stopping and restarting apple services, 2. uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes, 3. turning off the iPhone, 4. Rebooting the PC, and the other command line programs from the run prompt and nothing has worked. I used to get a window asking me which software to use to view the photos after plugging in the iPhone, I dont get that anymore. The iPhone still charges through the laptop and cord though. Prior to completely stop working it would do this intermittently.At the suggestion of Apple support I plugged the iPhone into another PC using the same cord and it was recognized on the the iTunes on that PC. All,I have a iphone 3GS connected to Exchange 2010 with push working fine. I travel to work on the underground so for about 1hr I have no signal but still like to read my email. I have noticed a couple of issues and was hoping someone could help.1. After reading an email on the iphone if I try to delete it I cant I get a error message and the delete fails.2. After I have read a message if I decide not to delete it so it is marked as read when I get signal back and log into my exchange account via outlook that mail is marked as unread i.e. iphone did not sync.Any ideas how to overcome these issue? The deleting email is a real pain as i read about 30 emails and cant delete them Windows 7

Iphone 3G dosnt work after software update

Hi i updated my Iphone this arvothe mobile turned off through the preccess then started back up with a picture indicating i should hook my mobile back up to itunes?as it was, it was still hooked then a notice poped up on my computer saying there was a problem with theupdate..i have been working on trying to fix it for the last past hour and nothing is happening just the same icons on my mobile saying to hook it up to itunes which i continually do and leave the untill the phone then turns off again...please someone help as i have no idea what to do and need my mobile for work... iphone not working after update to 3.1.3 firmware 3G

Can someone help?I purchased iphone in USA (I live in U.K.)Got it to work in U.K. on O2 using correct sim, etc. Updated to firmware 3.1.3 now all I get when I enter iTunes is a message The sim card inserted in this iphone does not appear to be supported Can anyone help resolve this issue so I can use my beloved iphone again? AppleCare Protection Plan registration hassle iPhone 3G

I bought my iPhone 3G from an AT&T store on Sept. 25 2008 (according to my credit card records). On July 7, 2009 I bought the AppleCare Protection Plan. Kept it in the box as the phone was working fine. Still is. Today I open the box and see the information to register, and decide to finally do it. I enter the AppleCare registration number found on the card in the box. I enter the iPhone serial number from the iPhone box. I get the following message:Were sorry, but this product does not appear to be eligible for coverage. If you believe that your product should be covered, you can submit your Proof of Purchase. If your product is eligible, it will be added to your agreement later.I am also told this:Gather your sales receipt (with the receipt number, product description, original date of purchase, and reseller details). We may also be able to accept other forms of proof of purchase. Gather the documentation that includes the agreement number for your AppleCare product, if applicable. Tell us how you want to send your proof of purchase.First, I dont want to gather anything. Dont AT&T and Apple talk back and forth, such that Apple can dip into a database and find the date? Why sell me the plan unless I am eligible?Second, I dont have my purchase receipt from AT&T. WIFI broken in 3.1.3 iPhone 3G

Ive been helped by roaminggnome, a top user in this forum - perhaps an Apple employee? Roaminggnome led me to believe this is a known issue with the iPhone firmware breaking the device. he led me to believe that if you don’t want to suffer from Apple breaking your hardware you should buy the extended warrantee (super lame!) http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2311414&tstart=0I’m hoping someone has figured a solution, here are the facts1. wifi used to work great, pre 3.12. after upgrading to 3.1 wifi stopped working (cant find access points)3. found on the internet that many others have had the same problem4. went to Apples support page, they suggest returning the device5. went to the Apple store, was told my phone is out of warrantee6. went back to the support pages, where it seems folks believe a) dont upgrade unless you have to, else hardware failure may occur & Apple will refuse to repair b) should Apple break your device in a software upgrade, it is an okay and accepted practice7. 3.1.3 does not fix the issueFWIW: I think its mondo lame here that Apple broke so many devices and wont fix all of them. item #6 on my list MUST be wrong, but some people (myself included) are thinking this now b/c of the quantity of broken wifis tied to the 3.1 upgrade out there.anyone found a solution?Message was edited by: chgray 3G iPhone OS 3.1.3
