After update to OS 4.0.1 GPS not working-only trinangulation iPhone 3G

I did update of my 3G to OS4.0.1 or 0.2, after that my GPS functione gone. This is second device what Ive got from my dealer. First was with the same problem and they changed to new one. New 3G with factory settings and 3.1. worked perfectly. GPS was very precise, but now after getting 4.0 works only trinangulation. I dont want to go again to the service center. Maybe somebody has the same problem. By the way Im very angree to Apple for this. Because its not normal situation. I always trusted to Apple quality but now it seems to me its gone. iPhone3G iOS 4

I tried to reset my iphone3g with the option which will delete all the datas and medias from the settings of iphone.It said it would take one hour or so to complete but its more than three hours and my iphone wont start.it gets stucked in the apple logo after restarting and the circle of working appears continuously.What should i do? iPhone 3G motherboard missing component after main antenna contact

Anyone knows what this component is on the iPhone 3G motherboard?I have an iPhone 3G motherboard I bought locally for $25. It had a broken #3 connector which I fixed successfully. By comparing to a working motherboard, I noticed that it is also missing a component connecting the contact to the main antenna on the bottom speaker module. Does anyone know what it is? It looks like a resistor, fuse, or capacitor. If I know what it is, I can probably install a new one there. Turn wiped of data iPhone3 without S into iTouch for son

I have a new iPhone 4G & have transferred all data from the old iPhone 3G. Wiped the iPhone 3G and want to rebuild it for my son from my own iTunes account. So he can use all the games I downloaded. He only is 9 so I dont want to give him a phone SIM yet. Now the 3G is wiped clean the message on the iPhone is Insert a valid SIM with no PIN lock to activate iPhone. iTunes says the SIM is locked.I dont want to put in SIM. My old SIM is no longer working. Ported mobile number from carrier.How do I tell iTunes to forget about asking for a SIM? MacBook Mac OS X (10.6.4)

HY!So since i have my new iphone 4 i have a problem with the itunes store app on the iphone.When i´m connected(doesn´t matter if 3G or wifi) i open the app store app and the phone connects me to the Top 25 page or search function or updates. Wont SYNC iPhone 3G

Im trying to sync my iPhone through iTunes but its not working. First it says something about a duplicate file. Then it says an internal device error has occured. It also sometimes says the required file cannot be found (Im trying to sync a new ringtone onto it and I have NOT moved any previously synced files).I have the latest iPhone update and the latest version of iTunes. iPhone 4-painfully slow wi-fi performance

Ive been experiencing painfully slow wifi performance (about 1/4 the speed of 3G performance) while connected to Wi-Fi.I tried following the advice given in an Apple Support article which suggested resetting network settings. I then had to re-enter the password for my wi-fi and it seemed better for a few minutes while after doing that. But then its back to snails pace again.Has anyone else see this? My Wi-Fi router is a Linksys WAG325N with firmware v1.00.12. Its working fine with several macs, an iPad, an iPod Touch and an iPhone 3GS. Its only the iPhone 4 which has this problem. I can load a given web page on both my iPhone 4 and 3GS and the 3GS normally finishes before the iPhone 4 has even loaded the page title. Intermittently stops receivingsending texts and calls iPhone 4

First of all, love the new phone. I have had a strange recurring problem, though. Every 3-4 days, my phone stops sending and receiving calls and txts, even though it has a full signal. I end up restarting the phone and it again begins working fine. Any ideas?

iPhone wont turn on

I think I am fuked. My iPhone was constantly freezing today. I did a reset (holding down home and power button) I did that twice. I wanted to sync my phone into iTunes so that I could have all of my photos on my computer before my phone stopped working. Well no point. Wont sync. I try turning it on and syncing and all it does is show the apple logo then it shuts down. I am about to cry right now because all my photos from my trip and my text messages are gone. Stuck in customer services returns iPhone 4

After waiting for the 3 week delivery for my iphone from the apple online store (singapore) it arrived with a damaged pixel.Customer services told me to send it back in via DHL and they would send out a replacement within 2 to 3 working days.One week later and still no replacement.To make matters worse, every time i call support it takes them about 20 minutes to actually find my case and figure out what is going on before they can even try to assist me.The latest i have heard is that i now have to wait another three weeks for a new one to be delivered for me!!!If i had known this i would have held onto the damaged unit until they sent me a replacement.Is this normal returns policy?Now i am over in Singapore for work reasons. My previous apple experience is with the UK store where you can usually just walk in and walk out with a replacement handset.I cannot believe how difference the customer experience is over here. Am i over-reacting in complaining about this? Should i just cancel my phone order - after all it will now turn out to be six weeks from initial order until i finally get to use one. Earpiece stopped working iPhone 4

Sadly my iPhone 4 earpiece no longer works. iTunes crashes when iPhone 3G connects HELP Tried everything

Hello all,Ive been having a problem with my iPhone 3G for a while now, where whenever I plug it in while iTunes is open, iTunes just crashes. No sounds iPhone 4

Hi allUpdated to 4.0.2 recently, although not sure if this is the problem or just coincidence.On settings, all my sounds are on (i.e. lock sounds, ringtone to loudest, keyboard clicks) and they have been working until today.Now the keyboard clicks dont work, nor do any other sounds other than the iPod. When I go into settings and confirm my ringtone, it does ring, but not when I get a call.This all worked previously but as I say, not sure whether just a conincidence with the update. Are there any other settings that I may have inadvertently changed.All the best

Problems syncing iPhone 4

Seems simple - to sync your phone, but I have had issues since purchase. After 3 hrs tech time and then time face to face in store, they gave me a new phone. It syncd right away, everything fine. Now having problem with the second phone.I did not sync the phone for a couple weeks, and went to sync it because my apps were not working (push the app on phone and nothing happens). When I tried to sync, I get errors again, some of which include:Internal device errorTiming outUnknown errorI have attempted to restore from back-up, and it errors out and wont let me do this. I have done the complete restore as well. Then when I attempt to sync, the errors are gone, but the sync does not occur. Itunes states it is syncing, and phone shows nothing. It never syncs.Also, anytime I connect the phone to computer itunes pops up with the set up your iphone page, which tells me it is never really recognizing the phone. Also note: I was told to take the time management off the USB hubs, as this might be creating a problem. This has not solved the problem.I am going back to the store today, but figured I would see what advice I could find here. HP dv6t 64 bit

I have to use the top button. Iphone 3g shows apple logo after restore

I replaced my screen because it was cracked. Phone still functioned fully. I updated to 4.02 or latest update with success so that I could restore to that point later. My problem is that I have success in getting the connect to itunes recovery screen and the computer has offered to restore and then begins its process. According to the Phone updater log, the restore succeeded. However as Itunes restores (or during the process), the phone returns to the apple logo screen and itunes no longer sees it. The phone will then endlessly loop to try and reboot every 5 mins or so with the apple logo until the battery goes dead. Two attempts thus far.I have a valid contract with AT&T and the phone is not jailbroken. Although yes, I replaced the screen myself. (A cost of $20 shipped to my house over $200+ with apple) The phone is a little more than 2 years old.The frustration is it seems that everything should be working but cant get past apple log screen. I believe since i took the phone to an itunes store to inquire about glass replacement, the tech would had noted the cracked screen, leading anyone to believe the possibility of the phone screen being replaced otherwise, in otherwords, I dont expect Apple to help at all despite the fact of having 2 phones now, but they could surprise me. Canceling call from Tom Tom doesnt always cancel call on iPhone 3G

Bad Experience with Apple iPhone 4

Hi all,I bought an iphone 4 from three mobile from their online site. Last Thursday I received the iphone, but it is faulty. No sound at all, no dial tone , no ring tone, etc.Then I went to 3 and they told me it is faulty , need 2 weeks to get new one for me, while I still need to pay for the plan even though I cannot make a call. The other solution is go to apple store, so they can give me a new phone faster. So I go to apple store, one of the guy check my phone and say it is faulty but I need to make appointment in order to get new phone. I make sure with him that I can get a new phone on next appointment, he say yes. So appointment on Monday (3 days later). Which I thought not too bad.Some important thing happen on Monday, I cannot go to apple. So I gave them a call to change my appointment. But they told me they cannot change my appointment online, ask me to make new appointment online. And the guy over the phone seem so busy that he does not bother to help me make reservation online while i in front of my computer.So I go to their site, next thing I found out is there are so many appointment type, so not sure which to book. I just book one of them at Wednesday. Then on Wednesday I go to apple again, this time they tell me I make wrong appointment so I cannot meet the person who need to check my phone(only need 5 mins). Ok seem that partly my fault this time, I accept it. So he make another appointment for me on Friday.Friday, go to apple store again. Finally they manage to check the phone and said it is faulty. Can replace new one for me. Guess what happen? No stock. Wow, and tell me I need to wait another week. What is the different with 3? You guys still need 2 weeks and wasting all my precious time for it. So I need to keep paying my bill for 2 weeks while I cannot make a phone call? 3 times went to apple and still cannot get a new phone? Travelling abroad with iPhone

Hello. Going to Japan in the fall for 3 weeks and am looking into to travel packs through Rogers (Canada). They seem expensive! May or may not not bother - not sure yet. Just wondering, if you turn off data roaming and disable 3g, you should be able to use WiFi still...I tried it out in my house and it worked. I notice however, when i disable 3G and data roaming the Rogers logo STILL shows. im thinking because it must be working on Edge. Sooooo, if you turned off roaming and disabled 3G, used wifi, would you STILL get roaming charges as it appears you cant turn off edge networks. iMac Mac OS X (10.6.4) iPhone 3G

Hello everyone, Wondering if anyone else is having issue installing iPhone config profiles. I have an iPhone 3G with iOS4. Also downloaded and installed the latest (2.2) iPhone config utility and created a new settings profile, and uploaded it to my server.when i hit the link and attempt to download/install the profile, Safari errors out with Safari Could not install a profle due to an unknown error.(tested with two different 3G phones running iOS 4.0. same issue) That same newly created profile, was installed/tested on a 3.1.3 3G phone and it works fine. Any help would be greatly apperciated, as this is our corporate profile, and we need to get it working before we can allow any upgrades. MBA rev1 Mac OS X (10.6.1)

4.0.2-wheres my camera gone iPhone 4

Loaded up 4.0.2 like a good boy. I was having mms issues where the phone wouldnt remember the settings. Still have the same problem now but my camera has stopped working. It initialise, but the shutter doesnt open so I can only guess at hardware/ firmware issue??I can access camera pictures from it within the app, and if I choose take picture from within contacts, it just gives me the closed shutter as well. Before you ask, a month old and always in a case, never dropped or left in direct sunlight in a car mount for long. Worked fine just before update as well?? My iPhone 4 with OS 4.0.1 was working great - I did the upgrade to 4.0.2 and now whenever Bluetooth is turned on it causes my My GiG car system to power cycle. It will then come on for a couple of minutes and then power off/on again. If I turn off Bluetooth on the iPhone - no problems.I have deleted Pairing - tried making a new Bluetooth connection - same thing. Home button stop working iPhone 3G

Hi, I know what happened to my iPhone 3G. Today, it was working perfectly but this night, the home button stop working. So I closed it with the top button, once restarted, the home button wasnt working. But then, it became really slow, everything had a delay of 6 seconds. I try to restart it but it got stuck the shutdown circle animation. And without the home button, I couldnt hard reset it. But suddenly, the screen goes black and now, nothing work. I cant put into words how frustrated I am with this. Ive been working on this for a few weeks now. I have gone through the painful process of performing a clean reinstall of iTunes on a cleanly reinstalled OS (Windows7).Everything appeared to have gone well until the time came to sync my apps/music/movies. At 99% of the entire sync progress, I get a message Attempting to copy to the disk xxxs iPhone failed. An internal device error has occurred.This is my second iPhone that Ive had to exchange. Bottom of touchscreen suddenly not working. Cant unlock. iPhone 3G

My iPhone 3G was working perfectly until a few hours ago when the bottom of the touchscreen suddenly went dead. I was playing games on it with absolutely no issues, then set it down and of course it locked. I went to unlock it a while later and nothing happened. The first thing I tried was rebooting it, which is how I found out the TOP of the screen works since the slide to power off is at the top, and worked fine, but I couldnt cancel since thats at the bottom. I have also already tried restoring it with no luck.I know this is a long shot because I have been all over the internet hoping for a fix but I figured it couldnt hurt to ask if anyone has any other ideas. This is my only phone and its completely useless. To top it off my warranty ended earlier this month. If it comes down to having to pay for a repair, it might just be cheaper for me to upgrade to a completely different phone. I love my iPhone though and it would really stink to have to do that! iPhone 3G iOS 4

Colour-Coded calendar iPhone 4

Hey, So I attended the iPhone 4 hands-on workshop yesterday and the specialist quickly mentioned that his calendar was colour coded so that he could identify what events were work what were social and so on. The problem is that there wasnt enough time for him to explain how he done this. I usually work by trial and error but I give up nothing seems to be working, my calendar is remaining exactly the same as it was before the session. Can anyone help me sort this out please? Problems with your iphone4 battery life READ

I will make this short and simple as I too have been experiencing battery problems with my iphone4 since I upgraded to 4.0.1Now here is what I THINK is going on, I believe there is a BUG in the wifi software in IOS that tends to drain the battery at a rate of 5% every 10 to 15 minutes or so if you are using the phone for surfing. And if you are not doing any internet surfing at all, it still drops the battery at a similar rate. Sadly what I have found out is that this doesnt stop even when the phone is on standby. Two hours of my phone just sitting there, I lose about 5% plus. So if I leave wifi on and go to bed, my phone will lose close to 25% of battery over night. However once wifi is OFF, the phone will only lose about 2 to 3% over night. Ill say thats a HUGE difference. What I also have noticed is that it doesnt matter if I have notifications & push ON or OFF, the battery still gets drained at the same rate as long as wifi is ON. Once I have realized the culprit, I went from getting a mere 4 to 5 hours of usage to 8 to 9 hours. So, I suggest that you all only turn wifi on when you NEED it. Once you no longer need it, just shut it off. This is what we have to do until apple fix this problem because it seems like having wifi ON is constantly working the wifi antenna even when the user is not using the wifi connection at all. Apple claims a whopping up to 10 hours of internet surfing over wifi. How can that be when my phone will lose over 30% of battery in 10 hours just on standby with wifi ON? By the way, all my tests were done with my phone on EDGE only. If you have done this and it worked for you, drop a line here cypher red pill

iPhone 4 Wi-Fi stops working after period of time.

The setup:Airport Extreme Base Station w/latest firmware update (7.4.2) connected to the internet via AT&T DSL.iPhone 4 32GBThe problem:When at home, the iPhone is able to see and connect to the AEBS without any issues. When I leave for work, and later come home, the iPhone is not able to see the network on the AEBS. Ive tried manually connecting to the network without success. Its as if my wireless network does not exist, as far as the iPhone is concerned. As a matter of fact, the phone does not see ANY nearby wireless networks (there are several I can normally see from my house).Turning Wi-Fi on/off does not fix the problem, nor does turning airplane mode on/off. The only fix for the problem is to turn the phone completely off and then back on again. After doing so, the phone is able to see and connect to the wireless network.This behavior is not consistent from day to day... Some days the phone is able to re-connect and others it is not. I have not been able to identify any particular action that Ive taken during my day that is consistent with the Wi-Fi not working.Notes:I have a few other devices on my home network including 2 notebooks, an AppleTV, and a Linksys WRT54G router that is used in bridge mode to connect my Satellite TV DVR to the internet (running Tomato firmware). Hi Guys need some help.This week I got my iphone4 and its working absolutely fine apart from Genius for Applications. Everytime I tried to Turn on Genius for apps it asks me for my password and after this I get the same message The iTunes Store could not process your request, please try again later and the screen goes blank. 4 colleagues at my work are having the same problem with their iphone4 as well. We all have rebooted the phone and done the restore but no luck.Is it a know issue and if its not then can you advice on how to rectify this. iphone 4 iOS 4

iPhone 3G microphone stopped working

My wifes 2 year old iPhone 3Gs microphone suddenly stopped working. This means, that callers cant hear her speak at all, using the internal microphone. The microphone on her headset works fine, the internal however doesnt. It works from time to time using the speaker setting during a call, though only in a few seconds at a time.Since the phone is out of varanty now, we tried to replace the microphone with a brand new original apple spare part microphone. The result is the same though, callers cant hear her at all. Weird thing is, it came like out of the blue.Could this be a software error, because coming to think of it, it started around the time when iOS4 was loaded on her phone. On a sidenote, I also tried to clean the phones jack-connector, but nothing helps. iPhone 4 iOS 4

iPhone 4-No sound from ear piece when making or receiving call

I live in Sydney, Australia.Just received an iPhone 4 16GB on Friday by courier from Optus (Australia).Set it up earlier this evening, and started testing it. Have had some immediate problems, whether making or receiving a call, I am not able to hear the person at the other end. They can hear my voice clearly, but I can’t hear theirs. As if the ear piece is completely dead.This happened on about 5 test calls from my iPhone 4 to another iPhone 3G with Optus, and to a landline number.Suddenly, however the ear piece started working on the 6th test call, and I could hear the person on the other end - TOTALLY RANDOM!Can anyone please comment if they have had a similar experience.I will definitely return the phone if this problem continues and take up the 10 day cooling off period that Optus offers.So far I rate the iPhone 4 a ZERO… worst product Apple have ever released. Push Notifications not working iPhone 4

I recently upgraded to an iPhone 4 from a 3G and I noticed that push notifications arent working with some of my apps whereas they would work with the 3G. Facebook isnt pushing updates anymore, and with meebo I only receive push notifications if the message comes from a computer. Apps like Pingchat 2 and MSN messenger do work.Im wondering if anybody else has experienced this and if it is a bug withing the app itself, or if it is a bug withing ios 4.0.2. iPhone 4 iOS 4 4.0.2

iPhone4 Sync to Outlook 2010 not working

Anyone else having problems syncing the iPhone4 to Outlook 2010 Contacts? Worked fine with the 3GS, somehow it refuses to work with the iPhone4, none transfered.Tried http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1692 to no avail. Getting desperate now. I have zilch in my Address book, and would rather not export Outlook contacts into Apple Address Book to sync etc... Macbook Pro 15" Mac OS X (10.6.4)
