Locking and Unlocking iPhone using Bluetooth headset 3G

Hi,I am working on this project and needs some help relevant to iPhone passcode mechanism. is it possible to replace the iPhone local authentication mechanism (i.e passcode Lock) with the one that we can lock using bluetooth headset?I need some help regarding this moreover, if anyone knows is there any API available in iPhone for bluetooth which we can use for our own locking mechanism? SMSDatacalls dropping out fixed after airplane mode iPhone

Anyone having this issue? I had a 2G unlocked for almost a year on tmobile and never had one issue aside from loss of service. I upgraded to the 3G 3 days ago and switched to at&t and this problem persists on my second phone now. I can send/recieve texts as normal. Use the 3g data as normal. make calls as normal. But unexpectedly without warning, it will just stop working completely. I cant send texts, cant use the internet, cant make calls. And the only remedy is either turning on and off airplane mode, or restarting the phone. This happened with the first iphone i got when i started the contract, so i exchanged it for another one today, and its the same issue. So its obviously not hardware. This was happening on 3.0 with the first phone, as well as 2.2.1 on this phone (havent upgraded to 3.0 yet).Short of a sim card issue, which i highly doubt is the problem, im out of ideas. Called AT&T today and they told me to exchange the phone, they said its not a network issue, so thats why im on phone #2. Tried resetting and verifying the SMS call center number, to no avail. Its correct. Turned off location services, no change. etc Iphone 3G 8g

All buttons (Home, sleep-wake, volume control) are not responding. The screen is blank (in sleep mode).Phone rings when called but can not recieve because the screen still remains blank. iPhone still pairs with GPS (via blue tooth) and able to make calls indirectly with GPS.Message and e-mail tones sound when received but also can not access them. Monster FM Transmitter not working OS3.0 iPhone 3G

Last week I bought the Monster iCarPlay Wireless Plus. It was working perfectly fine when I was 2.2.1 but since I upgraded to 3.0 It stopped working. When I connect it the transmitter the charge screen flashes on and off, almost as if Im unplugging/plugging the power cord rapidly. is it possible that its broken or did the new update just rendered it useless? iPhone OS 3.0

Hi All!This would be addressed to the canadian Rogers subscribers... Just got my iPhone 3Gs yesterday. So far, Im totally floored, and dont know what i did before i had one! LOL! The only mystery i have yet to crack, is this: I was under the understanding that whenever someone called that was in your contacts, their name would appear, regardless if whether or not you had subscribed to the caller id function with your service provider. is this true? Does anyone know of any reason why it would not be working for me right now? Ive tried re-typing the phone numbers of contacts that were syncd from my iMac to iPhone, to make sure they match exactly, and nada! All i ever get is UNKNOWN when anybody calls.Any ideas? I have had this issue since I got my new 32GB, 3GS. The auto-lock function is not working at all. Its set to lock at 1 minutes but it never does. The only way is to hit the sleep button.is anyone else having or had this problem? MacBook Mac OS X (10.5.7)

Ok, so my phone froze on me while i was trying to unlock it. And when it would like slide to unlock, i rebooted my phone. So im waiting for it to reboot then i see the circle loaders and then i just leave it thinking it would restart, then i keep an eye on it and then i notice that it reboots again. and right now im freakin out because im like real mad and it isnt connecting to iTunes. Auto correct not working properly iPhone

One of my biggest raves about this phone, was the super smart auto correct feature when typing, after the 3.0 upgrad...its not working nearly as well. Typing in atrong will not change to strong. Im supremely dissappointed and hope this is fixed. Anyone else having this issue? iPhone OS 3.0

wireless still not working. heard other people having the same issues with the new 3.0 update but still no update with bug fixes. wondering if I should take in the phone to get it checked out and possibly replaced, or just wade it out. iPhone 3G when turning it on says Searching for full minute

I recently got a new iPhone 3G from AT&T, everything is working great however there is one thing that is annoying me whenever I turn the phone on it says Searching... for about one full minute before displaying full bars and carrier AT&T sign. I had my brother do the same with his 3G and his boots up shows full bars and AT&T almost immediately. I have restored my phone twice. my phone isnt jailbroken or anything like that either.is there something wrong with it, is there some sort of restore I am not doing? VOICE MAIL not working AFTER 3.0 UPGRADE iPhone 3G

HelloAfter upgrading to 3.0 y voice mail is not working well; I mean, I can´t see the list of unreaded/readed voicemails available; If I choose the option of voicemail it automatically dials *86 and there´s a constant red circle in this option.I´m from Mexico and called Telcel (the authorized carrierd) but only said that in order to obtain the option I´ve to be conected all the time to the 3G network (not so good if I want to have more battery life).Does anyone have this problem? oldschool Forwarding stopped working iPhone

Anyone else have this issue? Since they launched the 3.0 OS, AIM IM Forwarding has ceased to work. Its been set up the same for 2 years through the original and 3G phone with no changes and worked fine until now. I put the new AIM app on the phone but it will only let you stay signed in for 24 hours and you also have to manually sign in and out of it otherwise you get duplicate IMs to your desktop and phone. Having to remember to sign in every day to keep yourself alive on the AIM network is also a pain. The old solution was very seamless and I really, really want to get that functionality back. Ive tried all the usual things from toggling the IM Forwarding setting back and forth, to deleting and readding the device in AIM Mobile. Well title says it all, I can send messages no problem but Im not able to receive text messages. Fortunately i think my phone is working as it should aside from this problem. 3.0 killed my video-out iPhone 3G

my cable and everything worked fine in 2.2, upgraded to 3.0, and now I get the dreaded Unsupported Accessory message and it shuts down the video-out port! I even downgraded back down to 2.2 just to make sure thats what it was. Tested again on the downgraded 2.2, and sure enough, it worked fine!! No Unsupported errors, nothing, just video working the way it should. ***, Apple??!!!! Why cant Apple leave this stuff alone! I had to buy a new cable going to the 3G and it looks like Ill need to spend more $$ on an Apple cable! Need serious help from Windows person to install Sons iPhone with iTunes

I gave my Son my 2G iPhone which served me well for over two years. He has signed up with AT&T and has the phone working with his number. Now, my Son wants me to show him how to use the Phone and iTunes. my problem is my Son has a Dell desktop Windows computer and I know little or nothing about Windows. I need to go over tomorrow at noon and act like I can help. I need step-by-step help please with these questions:1.) How do I tell which system he has (about 1 year old) so I can download the correct version of iTunes for him? Where do I look on a Windows computer to find that information?2.) After downloading the right version of iTunes, how do I locate the file that iTunes downloads to his computer and then get that file to install?Whew, If I could just have instructions on how to accomplish just that much, just those two major questions, I think the iPhone will automatically hook up with iTunes when we plug it in and we will be 90% home free.The only other question I can think of is that the phone I gave him still has all of my address books and everything I had on it. Wifi grey iPhone 3G

I am on 3.0 and now my wifi is greyed out. It was working fine with 2.2.1 but ever since 3.0 it was giving me problems and now i cant access it completly. I am not able to sync my new iphone 3G S when I plug it into my computer. my old iphone that I did the latest update has the same problem. They will not even chirp or start charging when I plug them in. my shuffle will show up, sync and charge, no problem so I know that the USB ports are working properly. my phones will only charge on wall outlet adaptor. Cannot log into iTunes on iPhone

After upgrading to 3.0, I havent been able to log into iTunes to download application updates or applications through the iPhone. It keeps giving me the error that the password I entered was incorrect. When trying to use iforgot to reset it, it tells me my ID doesnt exist. I can log into iTunes fine on my mac. The funny thing is that when I plug my iPhone into my mac and log into iTunes on my iPhone when it is plugged in, it will work! But upon unplugging it, it goes back to not working on the iPhone. On a second note, I use my aol account for iTunes. I can log into iTunes on my iPhone fine with my apple ID, but that account is not used for purchasing things on iTunes.Any ideas? Bluetooth A2DP not working with Philips SHB6100 Headset iPhone 3G

Im using an iPhone 3G with the 3.0 OS, and trying to get music over my bluetooth headphones. The phone connects to the headset fine (theyre paired, the icon flashes when the headset connects, etc), and the headset is reported as fully A2DP compliant.However, when I open the iPod app, the bluetooth icon does not show at the bottom like I expected from the various screenshots floating around... I simply get the old volume slider, and audio still comes only via the speakers or headphone jack.I have tried all the basic solutions - re-pairing the devices, turning things on and off, powering off the phone, etc. Nothing seems to happen.is anyone else having the same problem? is it specific to this headphone (the Philips SHB6100)?Does anyone have any advice on how I might get it to work?Thanks in advance for the help! Problem connecting bluetooth stereo headset to iPhone

I have an iPhone 3G and updated to OS 3.0 today. Everything is working fine so far, but I cant connect my Philips SHB6100 BT headset to my iPhone. iPhone wont turn on 3G

my iPhone 3G wont turn on at all. It had full battery just a few minutes before I noticed it wasnt on, and I cant get it to turn back on. I tried charging it, but that didnt work. I plugged it in to my computer and it synced my apps and calender and people can call it and it rings until it hits voicemail, but the phone doesnt respond. my iPhone 3G will not detect my Laptop properly

Hi all,I need some help. Im stuck Ive been working on this for days. Ive reloaded my bluetooth drivers and just dont know what to do. Ive got a Dell Studio 15 running Vista with SP2 installed. my iPhone is up to date and Im trying to hook up my iPhone via bluetooth to my computer.I am able to pair the two but Windows asks me for a Bluetooth Peripheral Device Driver when hooking up my iPhone. Nothing I do will make it work, Ive tried searching my computer, the internet, updating my bluetooth drivers from Dells site (for the record I have a Dell Wireless 370 mini card for my bluetooth connection.) If I ignore the request (which I could do in the past) my pc and my iphone see one another in their list of bluetooth devices but if I go to my iphone and tap my PC to connect I get the pinwheel for a minute or two and then it just goes back to unconnected.This all started after updating to SP2 and iPhones version 3 software. I did both around the same time so I dont know what caused it. Jut got the brand new phone.App store was working fine, but now when I click it, I get a screen that says Cannot Connect to Itunes Store.my internet is working beautifully...any thoughts for why my applicaiton store button is trying to go to the itunes store and if so why it wont connect? iPhone OS 3.0-no tethering in preferences 3G

I have an iPhone 3G that I had the 3.0 GM OS on and I cant find the tethering option where Apple says its supposed to be: in the General > Network preference pane. Ive reset, restored and re-reset to try to see this option, but its never there. Anyone have a similar problem? Unknown error iPhone 3G

I had to install iTunes before getting the 3.0 update for my iPhone. At some stage in the proceedings (I left the room to do other things) I got the error message (something like) iTunes cannot restart your phone due to unknown error 0xE8000013. Ive only got the error number, since I searched the Apple website for a solution and it told me to just dismiss the error message and everything should work fine. Well. Nothing is working fine. my phone will only allow emergency calls and still comes up as connected to iTunes, but iTunes doesnt recognise it.Please help! iPhone OS 3.0

Cannot receive PHONE calls and SMS iPhone

I have an iPhone 3G with the OS v3.0. Upgrade went great with no errors whatsoever. When I leave the phone alone idling for a while, if anyone calls me or sends me an SMS I do not receive it.As soon as I make a call or sent an SMS I immediately receive all the SMS’s I didn’t receive. It’s like they were all sitting in a queue somewhere. I can also receive calls.It’s like something is stuck, but as soon as I sent an SMS or make a call everything get’s back to working again. But if I leave the phone alone for a while and call it from my home phone the phone call cannot be completed. I have never had these problems with v2.2.1 before, and my SIM card works perfectly on my Palm Treo.Any idea what the problem could be?Thanks Ultra 24 Quad

Very Weird Problem plz help iPhone 3G

Heres what happened:Every night before I go to bed, I charge my iPhone 3g. Last night I plugged it in to charge it,and I made sure that it saidmitnwas charging before I went to sleep. When I went to unplug it this morning, it said that the battery was only at 20% left. I checked the plug ( where usbplug plugs into wall adapter), and it wasnt fully plugged in. This is where it gets weird. I pushed the USB ug fully into the wall adapter, it came up saying it was fully charged, and I unplugged it from the wall outlet. I keep the charger in a place where myself or nothing else would have been able to unplug it. It seems to be working fine now, but this was really weird. Drop menus not working in Safari on iPhone 3.0 software 3G

There is a website that I use for work that has links that once touched used to drop down a sub-menu. This used to work before I upgraded to 3.0 yesterday. Any suggestions? Ive checked to make sure that all options are the same in the Safari menu for JavaScript, Plug-Ins, and Block Pop-ups - they are all set to ON as they were with the older iPhone software. iPhone 3G iPhone OS 3.0

3.0 wifi problems iPhone

I have the original iPhone and after the update my wifi connection is not working. I connect to my network just fine, but when I try to do anything (safari, maps, weather, mail) nothing happens. When I start safari, the screen grays out and it says connecting.. and eventually says cannot open page. is this happening to anyone else? and any ideas how to fix this?
