My wifi option has been grayed out for several weeks now, Apple has even replaced my phone. I've tried all the tricks from resetting network settings, heating method, and apparently there is a freezing method as well. Apple is wanting to replace it, but it will happen again. I hate how Apple ignores issues like this, since I've seen reports about it as early as April, but I'm sure has happened before then. I'm still under warranty, and lately I've been trying to downgrade to the iOS 6.1.2 since I didn't have the issue at that point, but that's not allowed by Apple and I can't do it through jailbreak since I didn't save SHSH blobs from that previous software. At this point, I'm at a loss, I don't see how they don't realize that it's a big issue for people. What I wish would happen is just for them to re-release 6.1.2 and just label it as 6.1.4 or something as a temporary fix. Hopefully another discussion about this issue will prompt Apple into working faster on a fix, or at least acknowledge it and let people that have been affected know that a fix is coming very soon.

Poor battery life iPhone 5

My iphone 5 has the latest ios 6.1.3 and the battery life is hit and miss. The phone has been factory wiped in itunes and re set up. It sometimes will drop 50 percent on its own in a couple hours. If i do the home button and power reset on the phone the battery will report better. Maybe its a software glitch. I was also disappointed with the fact that i bought a high end home stereo and the iphone doesnt support the new apt-x codec yet their laptops do?  Why is this. Its no wonder apple stocks are falling. I have owned every iphone since the 3gs and really have not seen any real improvements other than processors and screens. Poor customizations, lack of ability to personalize the phone and really nothing to keep me with buying another apple. This is unfortunate as the hardware is great but the feature set just hasn't improved in 5 years. In fact i think it has gotten worse. Being a communications tech i used to use wifi apps for testing signal strength on installed accesspoints and those apps got stripped be ause of apples sdk or whatever it was. The slew of apps on the android market for this is staggering. Now i see that motorola, htc and samsungs are all supporting the apt-x codec but no apple. Gps apps are poor and apple maps for our area are black and whit and half are covered in clouds from the satellite view so you cant see the streets anyways. As a business phone the iphone is looking less imoressive day by day. As a music player its also now being outdone. I hope apple takes some of this to heart and really does something impressive to IOS 7 to restore faith in its fans. And maybe some day we will be able to use one of our songs for a ring tone instead of having to pay. My old cdma phone even had this ability.

3G working intermittently phone overheating and apps crashing iPhone 4S

Went to apple store last week with a cracked screen on my 4S. It was out-of-warranty so they provided me with a refurb unit. Did a restore on the refurbed unit from icloud (running ios 6.1.3) and ever since then I've been having problems. The phone feels like it is overheating, the 3G only works intermittently, apps keep crashing and freezing, and the phone turns itself off at random intervals. I read online about the potential issues with exchange calendars, so I've turned off any calendars on my phone. Other than that, does anyone know how I can fix this issue? Is it hardware related, or is there something else I can do to improve performance? Thanks in advanceDan

Consistent problem with iPhone 4S software

Hello! I have had issues with my iPhone 4S since the day I got it. I have been to the apple store more times than I can count and every time it's some stupid excuse or half assed attempt to fix my phone. Well now I am out of warranty and they told me there is nothing they can do. I have all kinds of problems, from battery issues to apps not working to the screen freezing on me, etc. Every time I go they tell me it's an issue with the software and reset my phone to factory settings. I set up the phone as new and then bring over a small amount of pics, music files and apps. I never restore from back up.  The most current issue is the phone drains to 1% battery and when I plug it in to charge, it acknowledges the charger but won't charge. The phone then dies and I am unable to turn it on for at least 48 hours. This has happened twice now. Apple ran diagnostics and said everything was fine and it was probably a corrupt file. We again reset it to factory settings and I was instructed to not bring over any files. I then used the phone for one day and it happened again. I also have not been able to back up to iCloud since I got the phone. The backup always fails. I am desperate at this point and apple will not replace the phone because it is out of warranty. I never had issues backing up to iCloud or with my files on my iPhone 4. My husband plugs his phone into the same computer and has no issues with a corrupt file. Any thoughts or suggestions on what I should do?

Siri keeps freezing when I try to set reminders. Once it freezes, I have to do a hard restart to clear it out. It freezes the entire phone. I can ask for siri to find a location and it works perfect. Any one else having this issue and how to fix it?

My iphone 5 which i got december is freezing, randomly turn off, drop calls, sometimes buttons not responding, and rattel sound when i shake it (have not droped or been banly treated). I have updated the ios many times and resore aswell (im now runing version 6.1.3) and the problem is still there. I would take it to a apple store but I live far off any, I was wondering if i could send it to a store to get checked and fixed?All response will be greatly appreciated

My phone sometimes does not alert me when I get messages from certain people, and is constantly asking me to put in my password for my apple ID. I have only done it once, but the prompt immediately popped up again, and is really just a major nusaince. I don't know what is going on with my phone because it also keeps freezing and won't even lock. It's just so frustrating at times.

Since I upgraded my phone to ios 6.1.2, the phone becomes slow on opening applications. Another issue is whenever the signal is searching, the phone is freezing for a moment until the signal becomes stable. This was not an issue on ios 5.1.1.  This is bad..

Why my iPhone 5 intermittantly unresponsive when locked

Okay guys, Here is my issue with some backstory; Bought a black 64gb iPhone 5 new as soon as they first came out.No issue. I upgrade my iOS as soon as updates come out, and this issue has been present since I upgraded to iOS 6.1.And has not been fixed since then. I sent a feedback form to apple before 6.1.2 was released, now even at 6.1.3 the issue has not been fixed. It's difficult to describe, and very hard to find anyone else with the same issue online, as the keywords used are similar to many other issues. Basically, when my phone is locked and the screen is off, I press a button, no response, this can be any button, even trying to power down the unit, but nothing happens.  I can plug in the charger, no sound, no vibration, but 30-60 seconds later, the screen will come on, the phone will vibrate, and it will make a sound.  Everything is back to normal. I've tried restoring, but it doesn't fix the problem, I would think it's a software issue as it only became an issue after I upgraded to iOS 6.1. This isn't an isolated incident as my girlfriend who I also set up with a black 16gb iPhone 5 is also having the exact same issue. There doesn't appear to be any sort of trigger that causes it, it can happen once a day, or once every few days, or 10 times in 2 hours! It's not a huge issue I know, but it has led to missing calls, and even missing bids on eBay etc. I'm just here to see if anyone else is experiencing this issue, and to see if there's a proper way to describe this... freezing? unresponiveness? And perhaps this might help other people with the same issue if we find a way to resolve it. Thanks for reading!

6.1.3 update killed my iPhone 4

i have no idea why but after i updated to 6.1.3 over wifi last night everything was fine until i let the phone lose its charge and tried to charge it. it started charging fine at first but now it won't come on sometime. at one point it shut down after 30 seconds of working fine and then freezing... the screen turned white and froze one time before blacking out. it's on right now but only after again going black and respond-free for about 2 minutes. i made one phone call and went back to the music app then it went black again. ***

5th iPhone in 5 months iPhone 5

Seriously trying to keep calm over the issues I'm having with the new iphone 5 !! I am currently on my 4th iPhone 5 in less than 5 months and awaiting my 5th which I'm seriously considering putting straight on eBay!! The 1st phone I had the on off button packed in! The second iphone I had the battery life lasted me 4 hrs! The 3rd phone kept freezing and turning off! The 4th has decided to come up with the no service logo and yes I have tried everything under the sun to fix this but was told it was an issue with the phones software!! For the love of god what is going on with these phones?? I've loved apple products and own a few devises but seriously had enough now looks like you'll be losing a customer in the next few days I'm afraid ! :(

iPhone 4s searching for bluetooth even though it's connected.

I bought a motorola H720. I have the iPhone4s. My phone recognizes and pairs with the device, but, when I go to bluetooth and turn it on, the phone acts like it is searching for the device even though it is connected. My question is, if I leave that screen and go back to the home screen does it stop searching?

Update on 4S to IOS 6.1 resulted in loss of wifi and Bluetooth connectivity

Does anyone know how to revert back to IOS update 6.0.1/6.0.2 from 6.1.? My 4s has lost wifi and Bluetooth connectivity, tried all recommended actions and no luck, bar using a hairdryer or freezing as some have tried. Not happy.  Have recommended everyone I know not to do update yet.  Thanks for your input.

Slow Wi-Fi only on iPhone s iPhone 4S

Yesterday, I realized that my iPhone 4s was running slow on our home Wi-Fi (AT&T U-Verse with a motorola Gateway NVG510). I have the 12 Mbps plan and typically get around 11.0-11.5 Mbps on my MacBook, MacBook Air, iPad, iPad 2, etc. But, I used Speedtest yesterday after my phone felt slow and it is getting 1.5-3.0 Mbps at the most. The weird thing is that, up until now, my iPhone has tested at the same 11.0-11.5 that all my other devices get. I also checked my girlfriend's 4s and hers is going slow as well (1.5-3.0 Mbps).  Why are the two iPhones the only things that are going slow on Wi-Fi? I haven't changed any settings on the phone or to our home network (nor do I even know how to!). Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I have restarted the wireless gateway and restarted both phones with no change to Wi-Fi speed.

iPhone 5 LTE 4g will not work on O2 UK when they release 4G

Hey guys just thought I would highlight this as I should think many people have brought a new iPhone 5 in preparation for the release of the 4g network next year.  Sadly I have to report that it is looking highly unlikely that you will be able to use you iPhone 5 on the O2 and Vodaphone network when they eventually buy the licence and launch their network. The reason quite simply the only frequencies which the iPhone 5 supports are not going to be available for the time being here in the Uk.  EE is the only supported network in the UK and they have purchased the licences for the only frequencies in the uk which the iPhone 5 supports. O2 and the apple store both kept this quiet when I upgraded to my iphone 5, even when I made it clear to the apple store assistant I intended to use it on 4g when it's eventually released. "Yes it will work" I was told. The sales guy in the O2 store also told me the same. I've returned my iPhone 5 mainly because of bad battery problems however I also didn't want to be stuck with a 4g phone where I can't use 4g when it's released. I first read about this on the BBC website but this link explains the crocks of the problem... http://thenextweb.com/apple/2012/09/12/apples-iphone-5-will-contain-limited-uk-4 g-lte-support-freezing-vodafone-o2/ Has anyone else been incorrectly advised and mis-sold? I'm now holding out to give EE a try, and, of course when the iPhone battery drain problem has been resolved.

Iphone 5 battery problems in cold weather

I have noticed that when I am out in the cold (below freezing) for long periods of time, my battery drains extremely fast even when I am not using the phone. When the battery pecentage drops below 10, phone shuts down and doesn't turn on until it is warmed up again. And when it is on it is displaying much higher battery percentage again (for example around 30-40%).  I know the batteries don't last as long in the cold weather, but this seems a bit extreme? I had a 3gs for 3 years before this and never had similar problems. Sure the battery would drain slightly quicker when I was in the cold, but nothing like this.  Is this normal with this phone or is there a problem with mine?  PS: I don't think aluminum back helps with the cold weather as it always feels like ice cold after a while even if the phone is in my pocket...

freezing issue with iphone 5 back facing camera

hey, I was wondering if this was a common issue with the iphone 5 back camera. My front camera works but when I try to use the back facing camera, it freezes before I can take a picture and I can't do anything, sometimes a magenta bar covers half the screen. Tried restarting and reseting it, nothing works. Any idea if this can be fixed with the next update, or this is a physical defect of the phone?

iPhone 5 freezing crashing and lines on screen.

Hi everyone, I have had my iPhone 5 pretty much since the day it was launched, with no problems apart from the slow wifi (fixed with the latest OS). However, a few weeks ago I started to experience some small green and pink horizontal lines on the screen. I thought it may be some of the apps I'd downloaded but it continued to happen even whilst using the camera, Safari etc. After showing the little lines it would then freeze, the screen would then just completely turn into vertical bars and then it would re-boot itself.  I tried doing a factory reset, hard resetting, deleting all my apps, charging, updating software... All the typical fixes I could think of and the problem still persisted. So I finally decided to send the phone back to Apple by post (I don't have an Apple shop anywhere near). They kept the phone for maybe a few hours, sent an email saying there were no problems with it and sent it back to me!  I have no idea what else I can do, is anyone else having this problem or a similar one? Thanks in advance!

iPhone 5 WiFi high latency and slow download speeds on iOS 6.0.2

Ever since I upgraded to iOS 6.0.2 I've been experiencing some serious WiFi issues. Although my upload speed has remained basically the same, my latency and download speeds have been terrible.  I believe that it has something to do with either hardware or software on the iPhone 5.  I have tested with other computers in the house, and the WiFi remains the same as it always has, so I'm pretty sure its got something to do with the iPhone. Here's some information:• iPhone 5 32GB black on Verizon running iOS 6.0.2• Cox High Speed Internet Preferred Package• Basic motorola Surfboard Modem• Netgear WNDR3400 gaming router**Ask if you need anymore information** Just to give you an idea as to how bad it is, I usually get a ping of about 60ms, 14 Mbps download, and 4 Mbps upload.  Now, I'm getting about 200ms ping, .50 Mbps download, and about 3 Mbps upload. Things I have done to combat the situation:• Reset Network Settings on iPhone• Power cycle router• Cold reset on iPhone• Tried holding it differently... LOL I'm not brave enough to completely wipe the iPhone and start over.  I don't have the time to set it up all over again! Any suggestions would be helpful! If you have any questions for me, feel free to ask away.

iPhone 4S Phone Constantly freezing After Upgrade

Ever since I have upgraded my iPhone 4S I have had NOTHING but problem after problem after problem.  - My phone turns on and off by itself- The backlight dims and brightens when it feels- My messages say (1) at least 4 seconds before any name ever shows up- The maps barely work (although I know this is a problem Apple has addressed already) The biggest issue I'm having is my phone freezing AT LEAST half the time, if not more, that I try to use the phone. Either the whole entire screen freezes and I can't touch anything, lock or unlock the phone, so basically I just have to sit there and wait for it to fix itself because I cannot even get the phone to power down. If it isn't the whole entire phone freezing it's the keyboard. The left and right side will just randomly stop working mid text and the other thing I can use are keys in the middle and the space bar if I'm lucky - at which point I have to lock and unlock the phone to regain use of the keyboard (that is IF the phone doesn't freeze during that part leaving me unable to lock and unlock the phone). I also have one of those $50 cases that are "indestructible" so I know it's not a user issue with me dropping it etc.  Is anyone else having these problems? I'm VERY disappointed in this new IOS 6 software, I'd love to uninstall it but from reading past questions I don't believe that is an option with Apple products.  I just want to see if there's any way to fix these errors before taking the time to completely erase and reset my iPhone (especially if I do all that and I still have the same problems) THANK YOU for any help

Multiple problems but now iPhone 5 screen constantly freezing and acting possessed

I got my first ever iPhone on 9/21/12.  Immediately, when I opened the package, I noticed a scratch in the aluminum side.  I read a lot of posts on this forum about scratches, but I decided I would let it go since my scratch wasn't that big.  Two days later, I realized that the battery life was terrible and only lasts me about a day and a half before I have to recharge again.  I also noticed that whenever I had to type in my password for the App Store to buy an app, the screen would flicker on the second row of keys on the keyboard when I switched to the numbers (9/23).  That problem seems to have disappeared for now ever since I updated the software.  The voicemail doesn't seem to work unless I turn the cellular data off (I think that's just because I don't know how it works) and I receive voicemails LATE.   Lately, this month, I have noticed that my iPhone 5 screen freezes midway whenever I try to swipe to the next pages.  It also freezes every half second when I am trying to type anything.  The "send" button also doesn't respond to me when I press it.  The home screen button is the only thing that I can press to unfreeze everything, but it's getting really frustrating to do that every other second.  Since two days ago, whenever I am repeatedly trying to press an app or swipe, random apps start to open up even though my finger is no where near it.  Lately, it has also been unresponsive to any touch (like sliding to unlock), but I wonder if it's because my hands are too cold... Just a few minutes ago, my iPhone was acting possessed and started opening up a text conversation and switching to another text BY ITSELF.  I wasn't even touching it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What can I do? Is it too late to bring it to the Apple Store to get a new one? It's been two months since I opened it and I have never dropped it and I kept the original screen protectors on it for a month until my actual screen protectors arrived. 

iPhone 5 Scratches Dents-Verizon Wireless

When the iPhone5 was introducted, I pre-ordered an iPhone5 64GB Black for Verizon Wireless.  I waited almost 3 weeks and spent $850+ since I was not upgrade eligible.  I opened the box only to find several scratches on the black finish, I was quite disappointed.  I called customer service and was advised that I could return the phone to a Verizon Wireless store. They gave me a credit to off set the $35 restocking fee. I waited a few days, and ordered another iPhone5 64GB Black for Verizon Wireless, spent the previous $850+, waited 2 additional weeks only to receive a iPhone5 that was more cosmetically damaged than the first.  I went to the Verizon Wireless store in Brandon, FL to return it.  They allowed me to return it, but would not waive the $35 restocking fee.  I made a point of why would I have to pay a restocking fee when the item is defective.  The option they offered was to send the iPhone back and await a new one, while they hold on to my $850+.  I was not agreeable that the offer, returned the phone and paid the $35. Last Friday 11/16/12, I went into the Verizon Wireless store in Brandon, FL and requested to purchase a iPhone5 64GB White.  They indicated they had 3 in stock.  I indicated I would like to purchase the phone for full retail ($850+), again since I was not upgrade eligible.  After the store manager provided some strong commentary (indicating I had returned 2 iPhone5's previously, and they don't like to sell the iPhone5 for full retail) and about 30 minutes waiting for him to review my account, I walked out with the iPhone5 64GB White.  It has been in the original plastic covers plus a Sena case leather pouch since it came out of the box.  It has a large dent in the aluminum banding.  Again, another defective iPhone5. I earlier today, read online that the Sr. VP of Apple indicated this is "normal".  If this is true, I am very disappointed in Apple.  I own an Mac Pro, Macbook Pro 17, Macbook Air 13", iPod classic and have been satisified with Apple products including build quality, fit and finish.  The iPhone5, however, is very much unsatisfactory in build quality. Verizon Wireless advised me that if you return multiple iPhone5's regardless of defect, they will flag your account and refuse to sell you another iPhone5.  How can a company like Apple tell me what I can buy and not buy, and tell me I have to live with defective, poor quality devices ? The main reason I want an iPhone5 is for the LTE (4g) network access, but I am not going to spend $850+ and live with scratches and dents out of the box.  It is one thing that if I drop it, scratch, or dent it.   I am going to go back to my iPhone 4S 64GB Black which is in excellent condition and other than the LTE (4g) access, is just fine. I am really disappointed in Apple for the poor build quality/fit & finish, especailly when in the introduction video they talked about the high quality and close tolerances within the process.  I am also unhappy about Apple telling me when, where, and how many iPhone5's I can buy. I guess to avoid getting my Verizon account flagged, I will see the iPhone5 online and hopefully someone will be OK with the ding on the band before any additional blemishes appear or happen.  My next LTE (4g) phone may have to be a motorola device. Any assistance anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Im not sure whether this has anything to do with upgrading to IOS6, but my phone has got an ever growing list of problems at the moment that started before the upgrade.....My battery will only last about 5 hours on standby and within those 5 hours i get two texts (this is while im at work, so not using the phone at all)..Just recenty its been refusing to charge, im not sure how long an iphone takes to get to 100% but most of the time it takes nearly 2-3 hours, i have noticed it only goes up a couple of percent in the first half an hour (pretty annoying if you ask me)My touchscreen doesn't really seem to be aligned properly, i could touch one app and the one above it or next to it will open instead.... this doesn't happen all the time but i did end up opening a bunch of apps i didn't want while trying to get the one i wanted, and i have tiny hands so im not touching the others by accident.freezing up all the time, and the other say i went to unlock it and it came up with the apple screen, like i had turned it on, it refused to remove from that screen untill i reset it. i have noticed sometimes the screen will do things on its own, like try to press my password in..... maybe ive got a ghost playing around with me =/. Unfortunatly Vodaphone wont let me upgrade for another year.... and at the end of this month will be a year since i had it, and i cant afford to buy a new phone. Im a little bit stummped as to what to do as my nearest apple store is 20 miles away and as i don't drive not the easiest to get to, anyone have any suggestions? (Sorry for the extreamly long essay, my phones got to the point where i want to chuck it across a field and walk away)

I just got my phone a couple days ago! My screen is freezing & when it unfreezes it will let me slide the bar to the side to open it but that screen freezes also.. help!

Constant iMessage Problems iPhone

I just purchased my second iPhone 5, the first one had freezing problems, and also the messaging problem this one has.  This current iPhone 5 has iMessaged checked and has my phone number +1 (954) *** - **** next to it. Looks like it should all work right? Wrong. Basically, I can message everyone else but one contact with the iMessages. For now we can call them "p1".  I recently upgraded from and android Epic 4g, to this iPhone 5. Everyone else I message who has an iphone, will work properly and instantly. However, with p1, my messages will send as an iMessage and show as blue, but won't be "Delivered" and on the computer iMessages it says it was delievered. Well, this person can send me an iMessage back and I won't recieve it on the phone or the computer. Something is definately acting up here, and I am not quite sure.

Fix for iPhone 5 Bluetooth audio loss disconnect

I recently upgraded from an iPhone 4s to an iPhone 5.  I have a motorola HX550 Bluetooth Headset which worked flawlessly with the iPhone 4s.  However, since upgrading to the iPhone 5, I frequently lose audio when in the middle of a call.  I am not certain whether it is a full disconnect or just an audio loss.  The person on the other end reports still being able to hear me, however, I suppose they could hear me speaking over another source even if bluetooth disconnected. The loss of audio is always preceded by a quick shrill noise, so I can easily tell when it happens.  All I have to do to fix the problem is to select Audio Source on the call screen, temporarily switch audio back to the iPhone, and then switch back to the headset, and then it starts working again. Is is important to note that I am not the only one experiencing this issue: This is a link to someone using the motorola H19txt headset experiencing the same issuehttps://forums.motorola.com/posts/94ac15ad7c If you go to the Plantronics website and look at the "Ratings and Reviews" on the Voyager Legend you will see the same issue reported: http://www.plantronics.com/us/product/voyager-legend (next paragraph is taken from the review since there is no direct link to the review. Really nice Headset unless you own an Iphone 5. I own several Plantronics headsets and have always loved the quality/ performance. This headset seems not to be compatible with the new Iphone 5. In the middle of a conversation it will lose all incoming audio. This leaves you trying to switch audio sources really fast in order not to lose your phone call. Ive tried 3 legend headsets and they all do the same thing. Hopefully this gets fixed soon because the headset is really nice Since this issue appears to affect multiple headsets from multiple vendors, I think it is fair to conclude that it is an issue with the iPhone5 bluetooth itself. I am posting this as a new discussion as I don't see any other posts specific to this iPhone 5 Bluetooth issue.  I would have reported this as a problem to Apple, but don't seem to be able to find a way to do this on the web.  Hopefully they are already aware, but if not, maybe they will see i here. If anyone else has experienced this issue, or has recommendations on how to prevent this from happening, I would appreciate your feedback / additions to this post.

iPhone 5 Back-facing Camera freezing

I just bought my iPhone 5 about a week ago and my back facing camera freezes occasionally covering the screen with this magenta bar

i got my iphone the day it came out and it has been lagging and even freezing on me. when i scroll through my pages and sometimes exit an app it slows down and even stops working sometimes. i also have a problem with my group messages. i get my notifications 30 seconds after the message comes in. its very annoying because ill be in my imessage app and the notification pops up after i have already responded to the message. any help or tips please? i dont have too many apps and i have around 6 GB of space left so i dont have too much stuff. and i dont have apps running in the backgroup when this stuff happens. im on AT&T if that helps. anything i can do please help.

I have my new IPhone. Since day one I have the problem with freezing screen. I have to switch the screen off and on again and then it works again. Pretty annoying, especially when you are in the middle of writing something. Not sure how to present this problem e.g. at a shop, as it of course woks fine when you want it to freeze. I hope this is just a bug that will get fixed with the next update, or am  I the only one with this problem? In that case I would have to contact apple to get a new phone. Thanks

After latest update iOS 6.0 iPhone 4S

I'm using an iPhone 4S with the latest iOS 6.0 Now my phone is always freezing and lagging. Besides that, everything starts to crash such the main camera when I want to take a photo, the Whatsapp's 'Take a picture' function and few more.  Can someone help me with a solution? Thank you.
