Malfunctioning speaker and manufacturer warranty iPhone 5

Hello there, I live in Israel, the iPhone bought in the United States.Device model: A1428 iPhone 5Two days ago, internal speaker suddenly stopped working. I can not hear music or hear ringing through it.When I turned to my carrier, in order that they will help me replace the malfunctioning speaker (device is still under the one year manufacturer's warranty) they told me that since this model is not sold in Israel, they can not fix it for me, and because we don't have an apple-store in Israel, I can't do nothing  I'd be happy if you could advise me what to do ( I want to use the manufacturer warranty that I deserve)  Thanks for the help Itay.s

Hi, I am new to this forum so i apologise in advance for not following any rules thats set. I have a Iphone 5, 16 GB for 6 months and for the past month or so i've been having issues with the microphone.     1. During a call if i want to use loudspeaker the mic cuts out so the person on the other end can not hear what i am saying, yet while during a call off loudspeaker          they can hear me fine.     2. Siri can not detect anything i say or any noise what so ever when i try to use siri, but can when using a headset.     3. When trying to use voice to text in messages no speech is detected. When using a headset under all three of these, they work fine, calling someone works fine aslong as i don't use loudspeaker.i have tried to restore the phone to see if this corrects the problems but no luck. The firmware version is 6.1.4, on EE 4G. Any help with this is appriciated. Tyler.

What can I with my broken Iphone mic

I purchased my Iphone 4 while living in Hong Kong. I am now back in the UK and the phone has deveoped a problem where the mic cuts out during calls and the person I'm on the phone to can't hear me. I took the phone to the apple shop here and the girl told me that she would have given me a replacement but she can't because the phone is slightly different than the UK (european) model of the Iphone 4. She then told me to call apple care and explain to them over the phone.  I called apple care and an american woman said she can't give me support unless I pay £25 but will email me instructions on reseting the phone, I told her reseting won't make a difference as the mic problem is a common one with Iphone 4's and I've read it's a hardware problem. So anyways I reset my phone and nothing changed. I'm stuck in limbo right now and dunno what to do, does anyone have any suggestions? I think I'll get a galaxy when my contract is up this year.

Crashing and screen flickering problems. iPhone 4

I too have had the "flickering/flashing" screen problem...I received my first iPhone 4 on release day (6/24); had no display issues until 3 days later, on 6/27. First occurred while on call in car; phone continued to work but display was black; had to do the two-button "hard restart" method to reboot phone. I was away on vacation for a week (not near an Apple Store), and phone continued to have this issue at least once/day. It could be on any screen or app...had it occur on calendar, a game, the home screen, etc. It would begin flashing ~8 times, then go to a "lit up black" (not off but slightly and evenly lit up black). Sometimes it would be 75% black, w/ a whiter "band" across the top 25% of the display.I discovered that sometimes if I quickly hit the button on top while it was still flashing, I could "save it."I have videoed this (using my 3GS phone...now my wife's) a few times, and it also did it at the Genius Bar at my local Apple Store last Friday (7/9) when I returned it. They saw it in-person, and watched one of my videos, and promptly gave me a replacement phone.However, the NEXT day, 7/10, my replacement iPhone 4 has started to do a similar thing...no "flashing/flickering", just goes to the "lighter black" screen. First occurred when trying to open the calendar. I contacted Tech support and spoke to someone at Apple for ~1 hour, who said there have been NO reported display issues from others, and thought it perhaps was due to a corrupt "Restore from backup" file. She suggested that I do a regular restore (not from backup), but I have hesitated to do so yet, instead looking/waiting to see if others have had this issue, as I don't want to lose contact, texting & calendar info.She also said it was not good to perform the "hard restart" (two button) function very much... I eventually have tried the "slide to power off" across the top of the black screen, and phone turned off and could restart with just the single (upper) button. So the phone is ON...just display isn't...I am an AVID iPhone user (have had the 2G, 3GS and now 4 model) for 2 1/2 years, and this won't make me "switch"...I just want it FIXED..!

Should I get iphone 5 containing 16gb or 32gb Or should I wait for newer version of iphone to come out

I'm planning on buying the iphone 5 because I have an upgrade available. I have never owned an iphone before, but I do have an 2gn ipod which has 8 gbs and has 2 apps and have used 5.5 of my 6.84 gbs available with songs(1175 songs). I have also have 30 photos, and have 1.5 gbs left to fill. If I do get the iphone 5 I will not put music on it, because I have my ipod. I would like to have a lot of apps though, because I like to test them out, and give reviews on them. I have a fair amount of photos in my current phone(around 400), but the camera quality is not that good, and I think because the iphone 5 have a lot more gbs than my current one that I will want to take more than I usually do(although I would probably upload them onto my computer and delete the originals off my phone). I don't have that many contacts and I have a tablet where I play my games and movies on, so that is not an issue. I know this is a bit long but I really want to make the right choice because I plan on having this phone until my next upgrade which is in 2 years. I want to know if 16gbs should be enough or if should I go with the 32gbs? OR if I should just wait for the newer version to come out, and if this is worth to buy. I would also would like to know what the perks and downsides are too. Thank you for your patience and time.

I bought an iPhone 4 locked to Orange UK why can't it be unlocked

I contacted Orange UK and they said that this iPhone4 is ready to be unlocked, but they can't unlock the phone  because I am not the original contract owner. Why can't Apple unlock this phone, because the original owner doesn't care and has sold it? As far as I understand, I am one of at least 3 owners for this phone. I guess there could be more. I just wanted to have a normal iPhone, why can't Apple help on this issue?  I have previously had many apple products, this is the first one I bought used adn just wanted to restore it to normal. Another thing is that 3rd party services can unlock it for 200$. What is that they do to unlock it? Why can't apple make a small comission for unlcoking iPhones instead. I just picked up a used iPhone 5 and I noticed that it has an odd model number that I cant seem to find anywhere. I know it's a GSM black 32gb A1428, but it tells me it's number is MD640LL/A. It's not really a big deal, but I can't find that number listed anywhere. Anyone know what this particular model is?

iPhone images won t restore after phone reset

Hi, I am hoping someone can help me as my wife's iPhone completely froze up after synching with the latest version of iTunes. In the end, the only thing she could do was re-set the iPhone, thereby of course losing everything. Reconnecting to her laptop restored music and most apps, it seems she has to re-download the other apps again direct to the phone. Now the problem is images. There is an ipod cache directory on the laptop Pictures directory, and in this are folders labelled F00, F01 etc.. and a "Photo Database" file. In each of the Fnn directories is a series of files, called Txxx.ithmb, each of which is about 1,500KB. Doing a backup from the laptop indicates there are about 2900 files overall.Altogether there is about 3GB in this folder, so it looks to be a lot of space.  Pointing iTunes to the directory containing all this and synching, still results in zero images being found. She went to the local Apple store for help, to be told these are not the images, but then elsewhere I have read that these are the full files, and this proprietary format contains three different resolution images. If the images taken on the iPhone are not here, where are they? Finally, how on earth do we convince iTunes to recognize these files and imporrt them again? Sorry to be thick but losing everything thanks to the latest iTunes was rather catastrophic! Any help/ideas/suggestions greatfully received... The photo files were a mix of photos taken on the iPhone and images previously uploaded from the laptop. Cheers Chipontheroad

Viber Editing text hard to impossible-cursor jumps always to end iPhone 3G

Hi all, everytime I want to edit text I'm entering into the message box, I'm not able to do it, since the cursor always jumps to the end of the text.This makes it impossible to mark & copy some or all text, as well as rephrasing or correcting typos. The only 'workaround' I found is to keep the finger on the target position (and having the looking glass active) and then type one character (or delete on). I'm a little bit curious since my friend and me are experiencing that issue for a long time now though I found no reference on the net for it yet (except one to a wordpress app). It happens on a 3GS as well as on a 4, at least all 6.* versions of iOS, with the previous (2.3.1) as well as with the current Viber version (3.0.0).Also experienced on iPad (3rd gen, cellular edition) with 6.1.3 / 3.0.0 Any hints or tipps are very welcome! Thanks in advance &cu,-udo

Before I purchased my iPhone 5 on 12/31 I read a lot of reviews saying how updating the version of iOS from the original one that comes with the iPhone 5 has a bad effect on battery life. Because of the countless reviews featuring this complaint, I have never updatd my software from iOS 6.0.1 since I got my phone over 4 months ago in fear of experiencing future battery life problems. 6.1.4 came out a week or so ago and I'm wondering if the battery life issue has been addressed by now. If I choose to update, will my iPhone eat up battery life faster? I am very meticulous with closing apps and being able to go over 24 hours without having to charge my iPhone. Please advise. Thanks!

Her husband upgraded to iphone 5 so sold his old one to my sister. My sister currently has a blackberry on contract to virgin media here in England. She took her BB along with her new iphhone to a local phone shop They cut her simcard down to size and put it into the iphone. When we turned it on we got this message 'only compatible sim cards from a support carrier....... '  I called our current contract to exdplain what we were intending to do and swap settings from a blackberry to her new iphone... they said we needed to contact the original service provider... here lies our issue.  My sister works as a nurse.. she called her collgue to explain all this and ask what network he was on. She doesnot kno and her husband isnt home for another cpl weeks he is military. My sister doesnt want to wait a few weeks to use her new phone. Is there anyway to unlock and activate this phone giving all the detials of the phone and confirmation from his wife regarding the new user ?  Ive read on the internet about jailbraking and all that nonsense.. but i dont want to damage the phone.. It isnt stolen isnt lost sureley i dont have to 'hack' into a perfectly legitimate phone to use do i?   My sister simply wants it to work with her contracted sim .. with the benifits and features iphone offers. Was able to get an HK iPhone 5 replacement in Canada

My iPhone, purchased in Hong Kong, suffered water damage in Canada and the personnel at the Apple store was unable to provide me with a replacement phone. Their reason is that HK model is different from the North American versions that they carry, hence replacement would need to take place in Hong Kong Apple stores.  I am wondering if it came across anyone's situation where they were able to get a replacement iPhone 5 in Canada, even though it is not the North American version. Alternative solutions are also welcomed. Thanks!

Following the most recent ios version update, my iPhone 5 completely crapped out and had that little usb symbol on the screen.  I called Apple...they walked me through transferring all my almost 3000 photos/videos to my computer (obviously not able to do through iTunes/iCloud when my phone wasn't functioning).  I asked if everything else (about 250 apps...no music) would be in the most recent cloud backup which was only a couple hours before the phone crapped out.  They said yes.  I did the restore and only about 30 of my 250ish apps restored!  I never saw all my apps in my iTunes for some reason and all the apps that I can see in my iTunes have been restored.  I wasn't at capacity for iCloud storage either because it happened a couple months ago and I bought more storage space.  I've only been an iPhone user since Dec 2012 so PLEASE HELP if you can and let me know if there is anymore inof you need from me to help me troubleshoot. PS=I use a good 30-40 of those apps while I'm running experiential marketing campaigns in the field...one of which is a HUGE campaign I'm managing starting tomorrow.  I'm toally FREAKING out right now with my apps not all restored even though the restore is complete. PLEASE HELP -super grateful in advance Julia

Twice frontal glass broken on Iphone 5

Hello, I'm an "old" user of Iphone ... 3S, 4, 5 .... on this last one for two times I've broken the frontal glass... never happened with older models Honestly in the first time I have nothing to say because unfortunately my phone fell down bumping the frontal glass on a small stone (from an height of about 1 meter from my pants pocket) and the glass has broken  .... but in the second case it fallen down on the back face on a plate surface always from an height of 1 meter and in this second situation my phone was also protected a little bit in a gum cover  I choose again APPLE product and especially this model without considering equivalent models of other competitors also for roughness (saw a lot of demo video on the web) but I'm very disappointed from the reality .... I payed twice (220 Euro each time) the replacement with 2 new phone becuse glass broken ae not under guarantee but for this second situation I don't agree with the policy of APPLE and I espect from them at least a commercial action to me because this second payed replacement is absolutely unaccetable .... Roberto (Italy)

Remove compass iPhone 4S

As golfer I would like to use my Iphone for distance measuring on the golf course instead of a dedicated Golf GPS device. There are a number of such applications avaliable. The issue is that USGA and R&A (the owner of the golf rules) will render the device (my Iphone 4s) non-conforming when its a compass istalled on the device! If it would be possible to reemove the compass I can use my Iphone but I'm not aware of any possibillity to do that. Is ther any?! Ideal would be if the (visuable) compass application have to be installed from Apple Store as optional in next OS version!

Camera app in my phone 5 not work. iPhone 3G

I tried restarting, soft restore, a factory restore, updated to 6.1.4 but it still doesnt work. When I click camera icon, the shutter screen appears and then gets stuck. Sometimes, I get a black screen and I can switch to the front camera. The front camera works perfectly. But everytime i switch to the rear camera, the app freezes. IS anyone else having issues after the 6.1.4 update? Here is what I have experienced in the last two days.  1- Unable to access a locked or secure network.  It asks for password initially.  When entered, it is unable to connect.  I restart and then go to Settings, find the network and click.  I never get a prompt for the password, just "Unable to Connect" 2-Bluetooth.    I can after a few attempts to connect my Bluetooth headphones, only after I get a "Failed attempt" a few times.  Then only music works, unable to make phone calls.  This happens with two different products.  A SENA SMH 10R and LG HBS 700.   3- Music play - I found this issue out when trying to figure out problem with Bluetooth.  I can start to play a song fine, but if I click on the ">>" or "<< "  it freaks the player out and then skips multiple songs or stops play and goes back to the playlist.  At first it was doing this with the Bluetooth headphones when using it to make selections.  So I deleted the devices and the iPhone continued to do it when selecting functions on the screen.  Some playlists did it and some don't.  Creating a new playlist did not help.  Additional Info.Apple Store replaced my iphone on Saturday 5.4.13 because if antina issues.  The issues above came after I restored from backup and updated the OS.  I have erased the phone 2 times since getting the new phone and restored from back up and rebuilt from Itunes and neither way makes a difference above. What is going ON?   Message was edited by: Karl Kroeker  Corrected version update

Iphone 4s Battery issue

Hi guys , i have an Iphone 4s its about 3 months old and im having battery issues :fp: iv tried nearly every possible thing out there to solve this but it doesnt seem to work , i have tried full charge and full drain. A Restore from previous backupsI restored yesterday as new phone and still problem persist, i have no emails apart from icloud and just a few apps nothing else running on latest version ios the problem i get will be either 100% doesnt last very long as it used to , or my phone will die at 3% and i dont even see 2/1% anymore now. please can anyone help me as its begining to worry me. Thanks guys (Y)

phone in recovery mode but cannot restore with error code 21 26 iPhone 4S

After my latest update on my iPhone 4 my phone started just shutting down and restarting by itself. I have tried to restore the phone with the latest version of iTunes but now get the error message that iTunes has detected a phone in recovery mode. Well that's fine, I selected recovery and when it appears that the recovery mode is going to go through the recovery mode returns an error code. The first code I received is the error 1656, then a 26, then the final attempt I got an error code 21. This phone has never been dropped, mishandled, or taken any physical damage. It was working great before I attempted to update. Please if anyone else has experienced this let me know how you resolved these errors. I have attempted every trouble-shooting step indicated on the Apple support site. HELP!

My third attempt to fix my iPhone 4s. I've gone through two phones calls, three associates, and one Tech. support supervisor. The only thing said to me was "I cant do anything". iphone plugged in to ac adapter and still no life in iPhone . iPhone 5

I went to bed with iphone charge at 40%. I woke up during night to see what time it was and picked iphone up and it was dead.No life...dead as dead is going to get.  I plugged it in with charger still not responding..Tried another cable and charger module....Still dead after being plugged in for 15 minutes. This phone is only 2 months old. I am an IT manager and i have deployed these to fellow workers and my entire family.This is my 3rd iphone 5.. All of mine were returned because of defects and failures., Others in my family and workforce have had problems also.I have had every iphone model ever issued and never with any of them had problems.Iphone 5 is just not good. I always drain it to below 15-20% and let charge to 100%.  This time could it be a defective battery?

I accidentally deleted my iTunes library. How I transfer contents of iPhone to new iTunes library

Okay. So this was what happened: I was updating my iTunes library to the latest version. All of a sudden, my netbook crashed and eventually was hanging. So I removed the battery and restarted my netbook. I later found out, my iTunes got deleted. I didnt panic at first since I deliberately deleted my iTunes before and reinstalled it again finding all my files back in the iTunes. But this time, when I reinstalled it, all my files were gone! With this situation, can I transfer all my current files from my iPhone to my new iTunes library? I don't mind losing my music but I just want to safely sync my iPhone to this new iTunes library without erasing my current apps and photos. Hope you guys can help me!

aws unlocked iphone 5

I bought a full price Unlocked iPhone 5 from Apple back in January to use on Straight Talk. I had some issues with data on Straight Talk not being reliable and I had to keep turning data off and on again to get a connection. Now that TMobile is supporting the iPhone at the same price as Straight Talk I figured i'd give them a try - after all that's what having an unlocked phone with no contrat is all about right? I'm a free agent. So i signed up however i don't get 3G anyhere, and my 4G coverage is spotty (talking HSPA+ 4G not LTE). This is because my $599 unlocked phone doesn't have AWS support.  My question is why won't Apple release an update that will allow my identical hardware to work the way the one would if i bought it from TMobile? It's the same A1428 model, the ony difference is the software.  I really don't have to have to sell my older A1428 to buy a new A1428 from TMobile just to get it to work when it should have anyway.  Can someone respond as to what Apple plans to do about this? Thanks,Andrew
