all my devices connect to my wifi but my iphone doesnt even show network

my iphone will not connect to wifi..it sometime will but 99% of the time it will not..i can be sitting right beside my router..my bf iphone and my mothers and my laptop will all connect..what can i do?

since updating to 6.4.1 my iphone 4s Wifi has been greyed out i have reset back to factory settings backed up lot nothing works help

i have backed up my device several times - restored from backup and restored to factory settings - ive cleared network settings - turned phone on and off - turned airplane mode on and off - checked my router... its not like ive not tried to fix it myself i can seem to get the wifi to work its just completely greyed out so i cant even switch the thing on  anybody help me out ???

Airplay. iPhone 5

I have had my Apple Tv since August of last year. My family and I have been able to connect our iPhones, iPads, etc. to the Apple Tv using "Airplay" (Mirroring). As of recently, it will not connect anymore. The Airplay icon in the most recents bar has dissappeared. I have updated my Apple Tv and still no luck. I have rebooted my router/ modem and still no luck. We use our Apple Tv for movies and shared games, kids are disappointed that it no longer works. Can someone please help me fix it. Thanks.

iPhone 4 can't connect to my NetGear WNDR3700 router.

I have that router and it's working great with my iPhone 4.The security I use on both the 2.4ghz and 5ghz is "WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES]" mainly for compatibility with older devices.You may also want to try and set the 2.4ghz wireless speed to "Up to 130Mbps" instead of "Up to 300Mbps" via the router settings > Wireless Settings on the top left, because I found some devices have connectivity problems or do connect and then run incredibly slowly on the "Up to 300Mbps" for some reason.

iPhone 4 has very short WiFi range

I have an 8Gb iPhone 4 that I bought new in December.  Two days ago, it stopped connecting to my home WiFi network unless it is really close to my router, and it won't connect to my university's WiFi network either.  When I go to Settings -> WiFi, it shows that no networks are in range.  It connects to my home router when I take it within four feet of the router, but when I walk to a different room it disconnects and goes back to 3G; I haven't found a router at school to try this with yet.  My phone has auto-connected to both my home and school networks for months now.  I know the problem is with the phone, because my Macbook Pro connects to both networks without any trouble. I've tried turning my phone's WiFi off and on, turning my phone off and on, and turning the WiFi off, then turning the phone off, then turning both back on to no avail.  Any help is appreciated.

I am not getting LTE signal on my iPhone 5

I have recently purchased a 4G/LTE sim card from my carrier (mobily). The phone doesn't show LTE notification on the screen. It is stuck in 3G. I have checked all settings and even restored my phone but still it is stuck in 3G mode. My friend who sits in the office next to me just got his iPhone yesterday and he is getting LTE signal notification on the screen.

Hi, My wifi is real slow on my iphone 5 it used to be very fast when I got the iphone i.e. 15Mbps, but after this update it dropped to 3.5mbps with exact same configuration and same router. I have other iphone4 which is still on ios5 , that still gives me 12Mbps wifi speed. What is this happening?

I am running iOS 6.1.3.  Recently, and I am not sure if it is related to a recent update or not, but my download speeds have dramatically decreased.  I download audio books on a regular basis and they are typically about 120mb in size.  These files would typically download in a minute or so.  The downloads are now taking 2 -4 hours.  I installed speedtest.net to test my speed.  My download speeds are ranging between .05 Mbps and .19 Mbps.  My upload speeds is consistently over 5 Mbps.  I thought that it might be due to my router but I connected my phone to another router with the same results.  Any help would be appreciated.   Thanks, Spencer

So I updated my iOS to 6.1.3 and now cannot connect to my home wifi network. I see that others have had the same problem, but there doesn't appear to be a fix that solves my problem. (I did roll back the firware on my router, twice) But that didn't correct the problem. My phone can see my SSID network but I get "unable to join" every time I enter my password. I've also changed my SSID name so that there are no spaces in it and even changed my wifi password to alpha only bc some folks said that'd work. No dice. I don't have time to go into the apple store. As title iMessage not sending pictures since update. It will send text format,I have tried all I can via the forums with no success. iPhone won't send pictures over my 3G pr wifi connection so must be a problem with update. From reading the boards and online it seems a problem apple are willing to sweep under the carpet. I have turned off face time iMessage and rebooted. iPhone 4s won't connect to WiFi

For some reason in my bedroom my iPhone won't connect to my home WiFi network. My iPod 2g connects to it fine but not my iPhone 4s. As soon as I go outside of my room, my wifi connects and it works fine. I've tried restoring, forgetting network settings, and basically anything else you can think of. It's not a router problem because my iPod 2g and even my galaxy S3 connect to wifi in here, just not my iPhone 4s.

My iphone 4s doesn't show my home wifi in the settings, yet my laptop and an old ipod touch of mine are both connected to the home wifi. This happens in my room, and for my iphone to recognize my home wifi, I have to leave my room and move closer to the router.  I had recently gotten a new, stronger home router and my room is the farthest room away from the router, so at first I thought that was the reason. But it just does not make sense that my laptop is connected with the signal strength listed as "fair" and an older ipod touch(which has IOS 3.1.3) is also connected to my wifi, yet all three devices are right next to each other.  I've tried turning the wifi on and off in the settings, I've turned off my phone so many times, and I've also resetted my phone and using icloud to back it up. Nothing is working, and I've been wanting to reset my phone completely and restarting it as a new phone, but I thought I should ask for an option on what I should do.  please help!

Wifi weak after screen crack iPhone 4

Ive got a Iphone 4 and the screen broke last week. The touch screen at the bottom doesnt work all that well but it still has great cell service. The biggest problem is ever since the screen broke the wifi is really weak. The only time i can pick up the wifi signal is if im in the same room as my wireless router. If i go in the next room over it wont pick up the signal. My question is, could the broken screen be the cause of the weak wifi and could replacing the screen help the issue and bring the wifi strength back to normal. Or could the drop that broke the screen also have damaged whatever the internal wifi antenna is?

When I try to connect to my new router I get the message, "Unable to join the network". I'm not given the opportunity to put in a password. The router is fine because other devices are connected to it and the password is correct.

iPhone 5 Wifi Issues

Hello, I recently upgraded from a iPhone 4 that worked flawlessly. Im currently experieincing dropped wifi connections or extremely low download speeds when on wifi at my house. I performed a speed test on my wifes iPhone 4s and omy iPhone 5 after verifying what was on the network. I have consistently been getting 0.20 Mbps down, and she was getting 20Mbps down. The other issue that i ran into is when i charge my phone, sometimes it does not detect that i have plugged it in. THen i have to unplugg it and reconnect it. It is not a major issue, but this could cause issues down the road if the connector is faulty. In order to troubleshoot this, i have wiped the phone and set it up as a new iphone to clear the possiblity of this being the issue. I have gone into the router and releases the DHCP lease on the iphones and then rejoined the network. I have also tried with a new router that has a longer range, but same thing.   During the tests, i had 3 bars on wifi as well.  Have any of you experienced these issues? Should i go to the apple store to see if they can offer a replacement/help?

Wifi problems with iphone 5

I am in my house and easpesially in my bed room my wifi always drops on my iphone 5 however i am never further than two rooms away from the router and on my old iphone 4 i used to get full wifi signals everywhere but with my 5 its weak signal and drops. Can anyone help me solve the problem?

6.1.2-Switching from LTE to 4G randomly iPhone 5

I have 6.1.2 installed on my Iphone 5.  Basically here's whats going on. -LTE will randomly turn off and 4G will be enabled.  Even when you go to Cellular, LTE is switched on... but it's not on.   -Wifi is a disaster for me.  The signal drops in the same room as the router. I don't know how to explain the problem other than a CRAZY WEAK WIFI signal.  I don't really know what to do about this.  I've literally had 6 iphone replacements with 6 different issues that came with them.  They refuse to exchange anymore.  I don't recall this wifi being an issue on any of them prior to this one.  I'm hoping it's not hardware but, signs are pointing toward it being so.   -Battery seems better than in September when it would just die in standby.   While, I appreciate some things being fixed, I don't appreciate a company who basically gets fed up with helping somebody with their purchase.  Why did I have to get 6 iphone replacements?? Oh, that's right - because they are making these phones like garbage!  Scratches, Buttons improprly built that cause malfunction, wifi problems, camera problems, BAD BATTERIES.  But when it's all said and done, they refused to just keep on exchanging until I got what I paid for.  I think that's crazy.  The fact that I was loyal enough to say, Okay, let's try it again - instead of saying THIS IS PEICE OF GARBAGE PRODUCT (Which, i'm sorry, it is) speaks levels of my loyality.  I was dismissed from their care and I think that's ridiculous!  Sept 21st purchase, it's now Feb 23.  I STILL HAVEN'T GOTTEN WHAT I PAID FOR! Thats the truth.

iPhone 4S Wi-Fi Connectivity Issue

Hi guys, Hopefully you'll be able to help troubleshoot my issue for me as I've come up with nothing. Of my knowledge I believe it's a software issue as I believe it's only started to occur since iOS6.1 & iOS6.1.1 have been released. Now even 6.1.2! My iPhone 4S cannot discover any Wi-Fi networks (even if I put it next to the router!). The greyed out Wi-Fi button has occured and this community had a way to fix that issue, however it doesn't cover this issue. If I go into the Wi-Fi menu, this is all that happens now.  It normally picks shows all the different Wi-Fi hotspots in my area.Have you guys got any ideas & solutions?  Thanks for your time,Aaron

Ok Guys .. Something wierd happened today to my 4S. All my notifications/alert are coming ONLY through 3G and NOT over wifi. To name few apps (iMessage, Twitter, ESPN ScoreCenter, Whatsapp, etc) Up until yesterday I was able to get notifications over wifi just fine.  But starting today no more notificaitons over wifi.  When I turn on my 3G and all of a sudden I get alert on my phone about iMessages, tweets, scores, etc. To rule few things out: 1) I tried resetting my router and did forget the network thing on my phone but still having the same issue.2) I'm able to surf on safari just fine.3) DND is off! Never turned it on!4) This is not due to phone losing wifi connection when locked, because I tested it.  I waited after unlocked the phone and surfed on safari for few mins to see if i get any type of notification, but nothing until I go and turn on my 3G.5) Tried the phone on different wifi network without any luck.  Anyone else having this issue?  or got fix? Thanks!

Just wondering how wide spread the wifi issues are, because ever since my upgrade to 6.1 (which somehow corrupted my backup), I have had nothing but terrible wifi performance on my iPhone 5: terrible signal, drop outs after standby, keeps asking for security key, etc... this is really nonsense, it was perfectly fine before, and it needs to be fixed (and I've reset network, reset the router, in fact the phone is a totally fresh install due to the 6.1 mess).Anyway, if anyone has any info I'd love to hear it.Thanks

Slow wifi streaming iphone 5

Help please. I have an iPhone 5 that experiences slow streaming over Wi-Fi. I would say it’s started from day one and never got better. I currently own an iPhone 3GS, 4S and iPad2 that don’t experience this problem. When I connect to any Wi-Fi network including Apple’s store network, after 5 mins videos played in YouTube no longer buffer or buffer very slow with jerky playback. When I switch to 3G it loads with no problems and I am not with the fastest telco. My current download speed at home is 20Mbs and I am not loading HD content. I have don’t heaps of research and tried the following:Re-set my router 2.4g and 5gTired a new router 2.4g and 5gVarious security settings on the routerRe-set my phone and restored (took 4 days)Re-set my phone and tested while in out of box stateRe-set network settings on my phoneTest it at the apple store Finally Apple replaced my phone and that too is doing the same thing, plus I think the battery has capacity issues now. Just taken another step back. As anybody got any ideas as to why I am having this issue with streaming? Since I updated my iphone to iOS 6.1 my wifi became a problem. At home my wifi connection works, although poorly. When I go to my parents house I cant even find the router/wifi. My parents both have older iphones and ipads and they work absolutely fine. What might be the problem? I tried to reset the network but it dosent help.

Why is the wifi reception on my iPhone 5 so poor. I'm not talking about in my own home with my own router. I'm talking about AT&T hotspots, public hotspots, etc. I can hold my 3GS and my 5 side by side, the 3GS picks up more signals with more strength. The 5 seems to have a weaker wireless network than its predecessors. It's very frustrating because I can be 20 feet from a wireless router, and still only show 2 bars, if I don't end up losing the connection. What gives??

My iPhone 5 doesn't let me connect to my wifi. I have other 7 devices that are connected and functional. Unless I am directly in front of my router, then I can't use my wifi. I have gone to other places and I've successfully connected.. Help please? Even buying Internet plan from my ISP lets me surf the web and use the Internet with my apps please help me!

My iphone 5 will not connect to certain wifi networks, while connecting to other ones just fine.  When trying to connect to some password encrypted networks, I don't even get a chance to type in a password, just the message, "Unable to join the network _________"  I've tried restarting the router, doing a hard shutdown on the iphone, nothing works.  I don't think it's the routers, i think the iphone is having trouble switching back and forth between WEP and WAP2 or WAP routers.  How do you fix this?

Hi, I recently bought a iPhone 4. The WIFI sensitivity of my iPhone seems to be very low. In my office, my phone is not able to catch the wifi signal. But at the very same place, another iPhone 4 and iPAD catach the wifi signals.  I mean not that my phone does not catch any wifi. When you are near to hotspot or router, its fine. I wonder what could be the issue for the same. Can this be an hardware issue? well anywhere i go , i mean anywhere i go my iphone doesnt find any wifi networks at all , even in my own house. its not my router because everything else is connected to it and works fine but ! one day i went next to my router and my phone actually found my house network ! but i moved to the next room or even 5 feet away and its gone. how do i fix this ? i reset network settings, i did everything possible . i recently got the color of my iphone changed, but i dont think it can be anything inside, well can it? i really dont know where to go from here , if anyone can help PLEASE write back ! or skype me - JMS , thanks

My iphone 4 isnt connecting to my home wifi. I type the correct password, reseted my network settings, restored my iphone, and shutted off my router for 30 seconds and still nothing. My mothers and sisters iphone, and our mac, playstation and tablet are very well connected to my wifi. I dont know if its my iphone that has a problem cause my ipod touch and my friends iphone couldnt connect to my wifi either. so if anything please help me as soon as possible, i already got a message from at&t that my data is close to 100% of use.

Unable to connect to wireless Network Iphone 5

I just bought the Iphone 5 two days ago. I am having a lot of issues connecting to every other network but my own network at home At home I am using a N900 Cisco router. The security settings on it are WPA2, My verizon carrier update is version 13.3 and I have updated to IO6.0.2. I have reset the phone to factory defualts, I have reset the network, I have powered off the phone and done everything I could to get them to work on this network.   Personal. Now I have been to my girlfriends parents and many other places that are public and even after double checking the password. the Iphone 5  From Trouble shooting: I have noticed that the Iphone 5 doesn't seem to like many security options on the routers. Even on my new router I tried several different security options and it seemed to like WPA2 the best. Othrwise I was getting major issues. The iphone would connect sometimes only to be slow and not connect. The wifi signal would keep being scanned and would go out and come back in. The signal strength also qould keep fluctuation even when near the router. My brothers same andriod device was doing the same thing. My brothers Iphone 5 was doing the same thing when using the different networks.  Apple there is a major problem here that needs to be addressed when refering to wifi. Considering most carriers now charge for data it is important that if I have access to all the wifi networks I can connect too. This is a major issue that needs to be resolved and looking at the forums it is not an isolated incident.  Recomendations: People who call in with this issue, need to have phones replaced if not able to patch, Since no patch exists at the moment, it would be prudent to offer people who are having trouble a credit towards their wireless bill by working with cell providers and to have apple issue a version of an RMA number. Until the issue is resolved. I have 17 days to return my phone to verizon and I am going to wait to hear back. My girlfriend is in the market for a new phone and we can't have issues with a wifi connection especially when charges are going to ensue if we go over our data. Plus the unavailability of a network in areas my cell provider is not able to help with is important. We as apple users need immediate attention to this matter and it is not a matter of how the phone scans for networks. It is an issue with connectivity and how it is communicating with certain encryptions with the routers. Fix need asap.  This issue is also not localized to the Iphone 5 as it is happening on the Ipad 4

Extremely weak wifi on my iPhone 5

I bought my iphone 5 online through Singapore apple store.As soon as i openned the sealed package, 2 faults were found.1. There is an obvious dent on the right hand top corner of the phone.2. The wifi did not work. I tried to bring my iphone to different places and searched for available wifi and it just could notfind anything, tried to search with my blackberry, ipad and other devices and it was found. I reset the phone to its factory setting through itunes, but did not solve the problem.I updated to ios 6.02 which says will fix the wifi issue, still did not solve the problem. I discovered that if i bring the device very close to its source (a router) it will find a signal butonly receives an extremely low signal & even if it's connected, it will last only about 30 seconds andit died again. Do you think i can replace it with a brand new one? The thing is i live in other countryand the warranty is not international. Thanks

iPhone 5 iOS 6.02 Wifi problem

I've had my iPhone 5 for over 3 weeks now and I've never encountered this problem before, if I'm in the same room as my router I get 3 bars of signal and in any other room I get 2-3 bars (usually 3), therefore the speeds are very similar and it all works very well, however now when I'm 15 feet away from my router I still get 3 bars but get the "Unable to connect" always pops up, my other devices can connect just fine but my iPhone 5 is having major problems doing so.
