iphone 5 speakers and through headphones quiet

Ive just updated to IOS 6.1.4 not sure if this is the cause but today when playing music through speakers and my headphones its really quiet. any way to fix this? and yes ive checked all volume levels. i also have a tone for new mail and nomatter if i put it one silent or no tone or change the tone it still makes this one tone. doing my head in. please help. thanks

my iphone 4s volume isn't working

My iphone 4S volume isn't working. No sound when playing music. No ring or text message sound. If I try to turn volume up for ringer on side, the box appears, but no bar to show volume up or down. If I do a test ring in settings it works though. Silent switch is in the correct position. I tried a hard reboot (ignored the red slider). It worked a minute ago but then stopped again. It seems like it might have the problem when I'm trying to play music. Thanks!

Why does my iphone volume  ringer icon come on by itself, the volume gets turned down on its own then the icon stays on and blocks my view. It also will at any time make any screen switch to large pictures that I can only see a small portion of screen at a time. I have tried too tap screen to make it go back to normal and nothing happens. I then try to turn it off. After several tries I am successful Its hard slide power off button because only a small section is showing. What is happening? How do I fix this?

The minus button will not lower the volume at all! Sometimes it even makes the volume higher.. The plus button works fine. What could it be? I have a white iphone 5 if that matters.

I have been using my iphone 5's app Notes to dictate my inventory and send it to my computer rather than typing in everything... until today. The microphone icon in Notes is gray.  I checked Messages and Mail to find that the microphone is operable within those apps.  Where do I go from here?

4s volume only works for calls can't hear text and can't watch videos since volume gone

I have an iphone 4S and my voulme just randomly stopped working. I checked my settings again and it only makes sounds when someone calls my cell. When I try to see what level the ringer is on it shows no bars or anything. Any ideas, I tried restarting it. Nothing works just happened randomly today. Any advise?

4S-No sound from speaker no mic no vibration doesn't detect headphones iphone 4

Hello, I just replaced my 4S's display, and after reassembly the iphone powered on as normal, but - there is no sound, mic or vibration what so ever. It doesn't detect a headphone jack either. The mute button and volume buttons work just fine, volume control shows up but there is no vibrate or sound at all.  So this basically makes it useless as a phone ... Anyone know what could be causing the issue? I tightened the screws, tried reconnecting the cables and the speakers. Hoping this is not an issue with the audio IC. Definately not software related, tried full DFU restore, tried cleaning the dock connector and jack, the iphone is NOT stuck in dock connector mode. TL;DR: No sound from any speaker, no vibrate what so ever, no mic, doesn't detect headphone jack. Anyone know what's wrong? Could it be a damaged Audio IC (don't really see how this can happen)? Broken flex cable?

Hey guys, I can play music and hear it just fine, with or without headphones. When I press on the keypad I can hear the noise it makes, I can hear calls with my headphones plugged in, or when the speaker option is on, however, unless this happens, I can't hear the person I am on the phone with. I've tried restarting, resetting, earasing all content, and restoring it with iTunes and that didn't work. I've tried cleaning the ports with a toothbrush, or pressing gently on the microphone and that didn't work.I've tried calling with the headphone on, and taking them off in the middle of the call and that didn't work either. I am currently outside of the US so I can't go to an Apple store, so I am wondering if any of you guys have been succesful at solving this problem. I have been having problems charging my iphone. When plugged to the mains or pc, the phone acknowledges its connected to a power source (can see the "plug" sign and the sound made when the phone is connected to a power source), yet the battery life does not increase. I had kept my phone on charge for over 16hrs and no increase in battery life. Can someone please help me try and sort this problem out?

The volume will not work; when I press them the volume icon pops up on the screen, the volume won't change and the volume bar doesn't move on the screen. microphone doesn't work while recording video iphone 5

Hi everyone. I have an iphone 5, and yesterday while trying to make a Vine while using the front-facing/FaceTime camera, I discovered that it didn't pick up any sound. However if I switch to the main camera (the HD one on the back), audio picks up and can be heard. This is a problem when I'm recording regular video too. microphone works with the back camera, doesn't work with the front. Is there any way to fix this?  Thanks!

I'm using the official Podcast app since its been introduced and even with various updates inc the one a few weeks back the volume level at max is often too low. Other audio and music is not a problem, but if I'm listening to a podcast via the app on a train or in a crowd the background noise makes its barely audible. Is there some way to boost the volume via some settings?

HI PEOPLE, i have the following problem, i bought the iphone 5 white 32 gb , 4 monts ago, the problem started this week, my touch screen dont respond somethimes, but everything else works, like the home button, volume keys, etc. the solution is lock and unlock to get it working again, but in question of minutes starts failing, i did a restore 3 times and a DFU restore just in case, im really worried because i live in argentina,i went to North America for the winter,and i cant go back to EE.UU to get a replacement, please help , for what i think its not a hardware problem, because it works really well, when it works,but i dont know.

iphone 5 Battery Standby Time

Hi, I have just got an iphone5.  Whilst i am very happy with it i am some waht a little disapointed in the time between having to recharge.  My old HTC phone would last on standby for at least 3days.  My iphone is lucky to last the day. Ive disabled the location services which has helped but was wondering if other users have experience the same issues and what they have done to increase time between charges (other than turning it off). Regards Micky

I am pretty frustrated i bought a iphone 4 from a friend for $50.00 USD. I'm very unhappy to say i wish i would of spent that $50.00 USD on a Htc or Galaxy i would like to have a disscussion or for apple to see that all apple devices should have speak to text or talk to text ( microphone on imessage or the default green message app ) so that people can be hands free when they are texting . iphone 5 mic not working

The microphone receiver is not working on my iphone 5.  I cannot be heard on the other line unless I put the phone on speaker.  I have cleaned the headphone port with compressed air and checked the moisture indicator and all is good.  I have also restored as new phone and still the problem exists.  The speakers still work just fine as well as the ringer.  I can still hear the person on the other line too, they just can't hear me.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

the volume on my iphone automatically goes to the maximum and the volume icon stay on the screen. The side buttons, earphone buttons and volume slides work to turn volume down but then sponteniouly it goes to max. Would a full re-set fix this?

Will Apple warranty become void for battery issues if physical damage to phone iphone 5

Hi, I purchased my iphone 5 in April 2013. I have dropped it down twice since and each time there have been slight damages to the phone. There is a visible dent at bottom right corner (happened 1.5 months ago) and the display is slightly chipped on the top left near the volume control buttons (happened 15 days ago).  Im now having issues with my battery and need to take it to an apple store. If incase there is a major problem and there needs to be a repalcement would Apple refuse to do the same because of the physical damages to my phone? My battery was excellent until now. I usually can manage for 24 hrs without recharge under normal usage (wi-fi on. whatsapp frequently. a couple of hrs over the phone). I havent had any major issues with my battery until a couple days ago. When i leave my phone at !00% charge without any apps running in the background, through the night (8 hrs) the battery drops down to 56%. Normally i wake up to a 95% - 92% battery.  As far as i can remember this has been my recent activity.  * I updated my software (6.1.4) a week ago without any issues with the battery. * I downloaded facebook Messenger and updated Genius Scan. Both have been deleted now, since i doubted these to be the possible culprits.* I have even deleted Facebook.* I have tried Force shut down. Switched off my my phone multiple times. have kept it off for about 15 minutes after power off. * Location services have been disabled for all apps except Google maps.* Notifications mostly banners and sounds diabled for almost all functions. I cannot seem to figure out why my phone is suddenly acting funny! speaker on my iphone 5 has stopped working. While using phone it would go on and off continuously. Now it's completely stopped working

I have owned my iphone 5 from new for about 7 months. The speaker has now stopped working completely.  It started yesterday with the speaker sounding slightly distorted when on full volume. It then worked intermittently during a handsfree single call on loudspeaker. If you tapped the back of the phone lightly, it would work again for a few seconds then stop working again. Also if i blew slightly in the speaker holes it would also come on for a few seconds.  Earphones work ok.  It has now stopped working completely. I have reset (power and home button for ten seconds). I have backed up using iTunes and restored the phone and the speaker is still not working.  Booked into Genius Bar.

All of sudden don't have sound on my phone music apps games notifications. Don't even have volume bar on videos to turn it up or down when I press manual volume button on side to turn it up nothing happens. Somebody help me fix this iphone 4S

I have four iPhones starting with the 3GS to the 5 all have poor reception from AT&T. I'm a contractor and love the iphone but I need a better antenna for it. I realize the market for smartphones is not suited for this request but a huge market is out there for it. The bars keep dropping as the data packages increase (3G to 4G to LTE) but if I can't get a better antenna for outside metro areas I'll need to switch phones. I DON'T WANT TO but business dictates. Please help.

Hi Everyone, My iphone 4, bought in France summer 2010 when it first released, isn't working properly. There are a few things that are very disturbing: - The speakers on the bottom (where the home-button is) doesn't work properly. If I play music, I hear sound coming out, but with creaks and all. - When I call someone, the receiver can't hear me, so the inner microphone doesn't work.- When the battery has still 11% left, it sometimes just dies suddenly. Does anyone recognize (one of) these problems?My plan is to go make an appointment with the Aplle Store and hopefully I can get an new iphone for a certain amount of money, because I think it's a mistake in the system. Thank you!

So my iphone 4s is acting funny.Sometimes the wifi is greyed out (and the fix showed by Apple didn't work)Sometimes after a restart the wifi can be turned on but it will not scan for networks(adding them manualy makes no difference)Sometimes it shows wifi networks but after typing in the WPA2 password it cant connectSometimes it connects but when trying to access the internet is dissconnects and the wifi gets greyed outSometimes it does not ask for the SIM PIN code(calling works)Sometimes Itunes can't recognise it.And overall the phone is very slow and often the settings.app dosn't respond to touches.The volume control on my Apple iphone headphones is not working at all.I have 2 months of warranty left(phone bought in Poland from a authorised retailer)I have tryed restoring it with/without backup many times now.If anyone could help i would be very happy

Audio IssueFeature in Video Playback iphone 5

I have just picked up on a 'thing' with the video playback on the iphone 5. It seems that dynamic range compression and/or EQ is applied to the soundtrack of videos. I first noticed it when I was trying to watch a few concert films and noticed that not only was the sound horrendous but during the high volume scenes, it was distorting. I have tested the same movies on an iphone 4, iphone 3GS and iPad which don't seem to have this problem/feature. Has anyone else noticed it? And even better yet, figured out a way to get rid of it?   Additional thoughts: I have also noticed that when you play music through the loudspeaker, some form of dynamic range compression is also applied to the sound. Personally I think it sounds terrible but I can understand why Apple would have done this. However, it doesn't affect the headphone output signal, thank goodness, SO, I speculate that it could be a bug that when a video is played, the OS isn't recognising that the headphones are no longer a loudspeaker and not bypassing the audio signal, therefore applying the compression to the sound.  Playing the video audio through Bluetooth headphones removes the compression and distortion of the sound track in videos, and that would have been the solution, but now videos no longer play in sync with audio through Bluetooth on the iphone 5. (Grr.) Last thing, the new EQ 'Late Night' that adds compression and EQs the sound in the Music app and sounds possibly like the effect that is being applied to video audio output.
