Iphone 5 won't record sound during video capture

Hi there. My iPhone 5 has been working perfectly for about 5 months then about a month ago I noticed that my camera was just recording a hissing sound (nothing else) during video capture. Voice memos record and play perfectly and everything else works as it should The strange thing is that if I insert my earphones then the camera will record sound even from far away but when I take them out again it just records a hissing sound. I've tried plugging the earphones in and out, hard reset, and restoring but I still have the same issue.surely the voice memo and camera use the same microphone? The only thing that seems to be wrong is that the phone camera records no sound without earphones plugged in Please somebody tell me there's an easy fix as we have no apple stores here so I would need to ship it off to be repaired if the need be.

Noisy vibrator iPhone 5

Desperate- way to extract location history of my iphone where I have been

Please help- its my understanding that iphone stores where you have been (location history). When I was searching the Internet to see if I could access this info, I found Pete wardens iphone tracker download (I think it came out in April 2011), but then I read that apple fixed this problem of storing this info on your computer too, by releasing a software update shortly after. Is that correct? If I backup my iphone to computer will it have a file on there that stores the history of where I and my iphone have been? Or is this no longer the case? I desperately need a log with time stamps, I need to prove where I have been in the last week (marriage problems). To Change Apple ID on iPhone 3S

Using iPhone 3GS to change Apple ID:  go to SETTINGS; then to  Itunes & App stores, tap your old Apple ID and sign out.  When you sign out it will let you enter a new email, (Apple ID) and (I hand already changed my ID on the Apple Store but not my password) .  So I was able to use the same password.  It already had my credit card info but made me verify the security code.  Easy, just needed to know WHERE to go.

iPhone 5 lockscreen green glow

Hey. My iPhone 5 is currently on firmware 6.0.2 and there is an apparent green glow in the lower parts of the lockscreen when I unlock the phone and it gets more prominent if the phone has been unlocked after a longer time. The glow is a lot like the screenshot of other users facing the same problem. Now, I saw that everyone was getting it fixed by asking for a replacement. My problem is, the phone was bought in the UK and I am currently in Bangladesh where there are no official Apple stores. How should I ask for a replacement and what should be the procedure for it?  Really would appreciate some help in this matter

Was able to get an HK iPhone 5 replacement in Canada

My iPhone, purchased in Hong Kong, suffered water damage in Canada and the personnel at the Apple store was unable to provide me with a replacement phone. Their reason is that HK model is different from the North American versions that they carry, hence replacement would need to take place in Hong Kong Apple stores.  I am wondering if it came across anyone's situation where they were able to get a replacement iPhone 5 in Canada, even though it is not the North American version. Alternative solutions are also welcomed. Thanks!

Hi, I have an iPhone 4S with wifi button grayed out similar to the case here http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1559andhttps://discussions.apple.com/thread/4638071?start=0&tstart=0 I already performed a network reset, reset to factory setting and updated eveything via itunes. I know that its most likely a hardward issue as stated in the forum. Now here is the problem.  I bought the iphone from a local (philippines) online reseller http://lazada.com.ph.  Lazada would only give the the apple 1-800-1441-0234 number and will not accept any repairs and service.  I would never purchase anything from lazada specially electronics because of how they handled my case. Absolutely no support and repair /service channels for iphones bought from them.  As per lazadas advice, I called the 1800 number and was again adviced to call the local carriers.  I was adviced by the apple chat support to contact my local carriers. Local carriers like smart and globe would only accept repairs and service for iphones bought from them. I visited several local apple reseller stores and they decline to render service because the unit was not bought from them. I cant seem to get technical support and have the iphone checked by an authorized service center. What and where is the proper channel for me to get support and have the unit repaired or replaced? Thank you in advance.

So my iPhone slipped out of the back of my pocket & into the toilet. Now its been water damaged for about 3-4 hours now & at one time it would allow me to make calls & text messages-the normal- but now that I am home from work, i have a red screen showing on my iPhone. Has had their phone replaced by apple due to bad charging port connection iPhone 5

iPhone 5 won't charge correctly. Only charges when I put pressure to one side on the connector. I know you're thinking "It's the cable or the wall adapter. It's not. I have 5 genuine apple lightning cables, happens with all of them whether plugged in to an ac outlet, USB on a pc, or in my car. This is my 3rd iPhone 5 since my original purchase in October.  The other 2 phones failed with this exact problem. The last time, I took the non charging phone in to a Verizon store (no apple stores near me) and asked them if they had seen it before, they told me that my phone was the only one they ever seen with that issue. So they offered to call apple and ask if this is a known issue with iPhone 5's, they also responded that they haven't seen this issue. Is this true? Am I the only one with this issue, for 3 phones in a row?? Seems unlikely. Anyway, I ask if anyone else has had this happen because if this is in fact something that happens often, I'm going to get a different phone. I love my iPhone 5, but not enough to go through this every month or two.

Hi guys, I've used apple for 5 years now. Started with an Iphone 3GS and since then I could not use any other brand as a Cel Phone, and I tried, believe me I tried. I used an Iphone 4 for 3 years without having any problem, without having to even call Apple. Then, by the end of the last year I went to London for a trip. I bought an Iphone 5 and came back to my home country, that is Brazil...Used it for 4 months or so and it started having problems with the wake and sleep button, then I thought, "ok, apple is a worldwide company, they are reliable, that's the main reason for me to have bought it for so long and the phone still in warranty, they will trade it for me" so I called apple...For the first time in 5 years...And I did not get answered properly. Apple states that since I bought the Iphone in london, they warranty can only be used for trading the phone in london...I have no intentions of going to london this year, what meand I will lose my warranty and the money I spent with my Iphone.  To clarify, I did go to Washington for a better support, but they stated the same...I called apple and they stated that the Iphone is broken and needs to be traded but it can only be done in london. An analyst called James Downs told me to call apple regent street that's the one where I bought the Iphone and when I called there for getting my money back because they are not providing the proper support for my iphone they state that I need to take the Iphone to the store... End of the story, I have a broken Iphone, I am frustrated with apple, because they are acting as they do not care for the costumer at all. In my point of view, they should escalate the problem, call the brazilian store and trade my phone or ship me a brand new one. I took the iphone to different stores in different countries that I have access and so far nothing. Apple does not care, my iphone is 4 months old and is already broken...If nothing is done I'll be very frustrated, I'll be at least ****** because it seems I'll not have my money back because the store states they will not do that even though an apple consultant says it and I have no way of taking the phone to the store. Please, can anybody from apple help me with that? App Store Apple ID issues iPhone 3G

Hi everyone, Today I tried to use my TuneIn radio app. It wouldn't connect so I thought I'd delete and reinstall as I'd been experiencing buffering issues as well in the last few days. I deleted the app and went into the App Store to redownload it. The App Store won't load. It just has the loading message and the little loading symbol. I went on various forums, I've done a hard reset, turned phone off and on again, closed the app down on the open apps dock on the phone, I've reset my network connections etc. Also, I'm on the latest version of the iOS software 6.1.3. The last thing I tried was to sign my Apple ID out of the iTunes and App stores and attempt to sign in again...  Now I can't sign in using my Apple ID. It says that it can't connect to the iTunes store. FFS!  Has anyone had this problem before? I frequently have issues where the update screen on the App Store either takes forever to load or doesn't but this is the whole app and everything Apple related not working. Thanks for your replies

I don't mean the factory unlocked a1428 version that'll be sold by apple at retail price. I mean the t-mobile version that'll be locked to t-mobile only as an you'll put down the $99 and pay the $20 EIP. Will apple sell the tmo iPhone 5 just like they do for Verizon AT&T and Sprint? iPhone 5 wet works after drying for 10 days-screen still dark not black backlight

Hello...I hope someone out there can help. I am very un-technical, and I'm afraid to ask my husband, who isn't, for help until I have exhausted other possibilities. I was browsing the internet on my new iphone5 when it slipped headfirst into the lukewarm, half-empty cup of black tea on my lap. So it was partially submerged in tea for about 1 second. I yanked it out, dried it off, shook it out, then not knowing what else to do at 4 AM, grabbed the hair dryer and very gently and very briefly blew air towards the top openings (speaker and pone jack).  The phone had worked for a few seconds after I retrieved it, but I didn't know to be sure it was turned off...i just assumed (I know, I know) it was turned off since the screen was totally black. About ten minutes later, when my previously out-of-battery ipad was charged enough for me to look up "wet iPhone" I put the phone into a bag of rice and kept searching for help online. About 30 mins later I had the SIM card removed and put the phone back into the rice. Left it in rice for 1 full day, then when when I could finally get to a store, I put it in between two "damp-rid" type packets inside a lunchbox on top of my water heater where it is warm. I left it alone for four or five days, then tried turning it on. nothing. Then I put the sim card in, and felt the little vibration of a phone powering on!! Screen was almost completely dark, so I returned it to the damp rid coffin it into the damp rid container for Another few days. Ans so, the exciting conclusion: Just now, I connected it to iTunes and could see very faintly enough to use the touchscreen. Reinstalled  everything, and made a call to my husband so he won't wonder why I haven't called him from my iPhone for ten days. Everything else seems to work but I want to know if I can fix the screen in any way. There are no apple stores in Germany yet and I don't want to buy a replacement phone. Techie: Can and/orShould I take it apart and look for corrosion? i have read some DIY tips for older phones on other forums but not for iphone 5. Any help or advice appreciated. Thanks for reading.

Cracked iPhone 5. HELPP

Ok, so BEFORE I cracked my iPhone 5 screen my phone was acting up. Restarting on its own, backlight dimming without warning, and not sliding to unlock on command. However, I never got a chance to take it to the Apple store because I'm in college and we don't have any nearby stores. iPhone 4S bricked after 6.1 update-iTunes errors 211611

Yesterday my iPhone 4S asked me to install the iOS 6.1 update (via the Settings.app) "over the air". After downloading and preparing the update, the iPhone rebooted itself to start the update process.Unfortunately, this is where it all went wrong. It seems like the iPhone update failed somewhere along this process. It is now stuck in "Recovery Mode", with the picture showing me to connect the phone to iTunes. I have tried countless times restoring the phone via iTunes, on 4 different computers, and on Windows 7 and OS X.Nothing works. The restore process fails during the "Preparing iPhone" phase. Here's what happens every time:I can see the phone being restarted.The Apple logo shows up, and a little wheel in the bottom of the screen starts spinningAs soon as (usually even before) the progress bar shows up on the phone, the device suddenly shuts downThe iPhone reboots right back into recovery mode, asking me to connect to iTunes I'm quite desperate at this point. I have followed all steps imaginable (including turning off Windows firewall and antivirus software), but even then the restore still won't complete. iTunes always gives me the same error: 1611.When putting the phone into DFU manually, it gives me another error: 21.Both seem to point to third-party security software interfering with the restore process.However, having tried this on 4 different computers, I am 99% sure that this is not the issue. So far I've tried:HP Laptop - Windows 7Asus Desktop - Windows 72010 Macbook Pro 15" - OS X Mountain Lion + Windows 8 (Bootcamp)2010 Macbook Pro 13" - OS X Mountain Lion Also, I should mention that in Belgium there aren't any official Apple stores where I can book an appointment at a Genius Bar. iPhone 5 battery problem worse on iOS 6.1

Updated to the new iOS last night and I noticed a significant battery drain on my iPhone 5.. It goes down 6% (or more) on standby (in an estimated hour), and when I play like a minute on games it becomes really hot.Also before I went to bed last night my phone was at a full 100% (WiFi & cellular data off), and I woke up in the morning to find it at 61% which is really alarming since I have never experienced anything like that with any of my previous iPhones or the iPhone 5 when it was in the later iPhone operating system. I've done everything: restores, reset, rebooted, even did a back up, also switched it off and on again, and I'm not seeing any changes. P.S. In my country, Apple stores do NOT replace phones, so I'm at a lost of what to do. Can't even play my favorite games or browse the net coz it batter just drains and it becomes really hot.

iPhone Stolen IMEI checks show iPhone has been replaced iPhone 4S

I had my iPhone stolen a while back, and just today, someone told me to check my IMEI to see if my phone is still under a carrier. I checked with an external website and the Apple website only to find that it has been replaced. My local carrier told me that it is almost impossible that the phone was replaced by them because they would require identification. The other possible case is if the person were to do an exchange with Apple. What should I do? The Apple replacement stores are closed as of now and I plan to go to my local law enforcement. Does Apple keep track of the replacements they dish out?

'iwiggle' problem. iPhone 4S

I recieved my brand spanking new Iphone 4s on the 4th of January. (2 weeks old!) $900NZD it came to. Now with this sort of money being spent on one device you do get a bit OCD over it.Now I read through a few discussions and noticed a similar one, and noticed my home button wiggles. It wiggles up and down, but not so noticeably side to side. (It's a tiny wiggle by the way) I brush it aside thinking it won't matter. But I'm also not shaking the feeling of OCD off. This phone is perfect in every other aspect.Also, this was purchased off the New Zealand apple site, but we do not have any apple stores in New Zealand. Am I just being a bit silly over this? Is this common? Or am I alone.

Will Apple be able to tell I've replaced my back glass iPhone 4

I've had my iPhone 4 for around 3 weeks now and I absolutely adore it. It's my first ever iPhone and I'm so glad I decided to get one. About 4 days ago, I dropped my iPhone (caseless and screen protector-less) on my laminate flooring in the kitchen and it landed on its back. The sound of it hitting the floor made me cringe, and I was devastated to pick it up to find the back glass had cracked in a few places. It's not major, and the cracks are not deep so they're no danger of harming me during use of the phone. I need to get the back replaced - I can't stand it! But my closest Apple store is around 6 hours in car to travel to (the UK are very tight with Apple stores). I want to replace the back glass, I've seen how easy it is and after being experienced of dismantling my iPod touch a couple of years ago due to a constant loose wire on the battery I think that the removal and replacement is easy enough to do in spare time. But, will Apple be able to tell that I've replaced the glass? If I get a fault with my iPhone in the future thats covered by warranty, what are the chances of them checking the phone thorougly if I require a repair or replacement? I read in the Terms of Service that they don't recommend their customers opening up the back because YOU MAY CAUSE DAMAGE THAT IS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. It doesn't actually state that the removal of the back glass is uncovered by warranty.  Please help, I really need it. Please explain what you think I should do. Apologies for my 'essay'.

iPhone s proximity sensor stopped working.

Hi,  I've now read quite a lot of the other discussions on this so I've literally tried everything. Mine stopped working about two days ago (It had been working fine the past 2 and a bit years) - it's just pretty annoying really (the face dialing etc).  What I've tried Reset settingsReset to factory settingssoft reboot removed case removed screen protector  Phone hasn't been dropped , immersed in water , lcd replaced etc etc Anyone have any ideas?  P.S I can't take it in to an Apple retail store as at the moment I'm currently in New Zealand where they have no stores. Thanks!.

I really need help with my decision in purchasing an iPhone 4

I will just go to my main concern.  I lost the phone of my aunt which is an iPhone 4. It was stolen from my bag. Out of common sense, I have to find a replacement because I know the my aunt invested money on it. However, brand new iPhone 4 here on our country are still pretty expensive for my budget. It is also hard to find becuase mostly stores no longer carry it becuase there is now iPhone 5. So, i have no choice, but to purchase a second-hand iPhone 4. So far, the second-hand iPhone 4 that I saw are from Singapore and Japan.  Now, my question. How can I be sure that the iPhone 4 that I purchase will work in the United States when my aunt will go back to the US. She works and live in the United States. I want to make sure that she can use the phone when she goes back to the United States.  Please please please I need help.  I am already stressed finding money to buy a replacement.

grey spots in photoswhen taking pictures iPhone 5

i recived the iphone 5 as a birthday present in october, to be precise october 3rd, and now im on a family vacation to nantucket and despite the rather crazy weathher going from gloomy to beatiful i like to take lots of picture with the amazing camera. but for some reason there are grey/ dark circles when i take pictures. they started when i got on to the ferry over to the island which is verry annoying. i dont think that they are caused by water, or dropping, or dust. the circles are perfectely circular and there are a bunch of them but one standout from the rest. does any one know why this has happened? i will probably take it to the genius bar to have it fixed, but because there are no apple stores on the island i will have to wait until i get back to the mainland. grrrrr. apple, i hope you fix this problem and do something about foxcom screwing up so many iphones. grrrrrrrr.

iPhone 5 Advices for better battery.

Before I had an iPhone, I was terrified about its battery because of discussions.However bought one at 18.12.2012 used to %0 and then fully charged to %100. I've researched and tried a lot. How can I restore retrieve deleted text imessage conversation stream on iphone 4s? And Ive never synced it with itunes or backed up in any way, but I heard it still stores on phones hard drive and can be retrieved. Is there safe software or a way to get deleted data off the phones hard drive after accidentally deleting? Its an important and long conversation between me and another iphone user that also includes pics and videos, so it includes both imessages and texts. Thank you so much for any help you can offer!

Hi I bought this phone on ebay from a seller who states the phone is unlocked. However, the sim is not recognized by the phone.The seller sent the follwoing instructions but it doesn't seem to work either. Do I have to buy an unlock code from a third party? Please advise... Do not waste your money because the unlock Code is already paid for through Apple  itunes. To unlock it,  Insert a TMobile or Non-ATT Sim Card. Open itunes on your Computer. Plug the Iphone into your Computer and wait until itunes recognizes it. Unplug the Iphone from the Computer. Wait 20 seconds and plug it in again. It should now be unlocked. The unlock Code has already been paid for through Apple itunes. Is there an App that works well in telling if any other Apps are draining the battery and/or the battery needs to be replaced? Does Apple replace batteries in their stores (I have the extended warranty)?  If a battery is replaced is any data, pictures, E Mails, etc..., lost? I still think that the iOS update in October is draining the battery and they are not admitting it, but perhaps I have an App doing something or the battery, which is 14 months old, needs to be replaced.

How Do I Help Apple US & Apple Europe Stop Warring With Each Other And Fix The Problem They Created?  PROBLEMApple will not replace, as promised, the iPhone 5 (A1429 GSM model) that they gave me in London, UK, with an iPhone 5 (A1429 CDMA model). BACKGROUNDMy iPhone 5 (A1429 CDMA model) was purchased this year in September on an existing Verizon Wireless (VZW) line using an upgrade. The purchase took place in California and the product was picked up using Apple Personal Pickup through the Cerritos Apple Retail Store. I will refer to this phone at my "original" phone.The original phone was taken into the Apple Store Regent Street in London, England, UK on November 15, 2012. The reason for this visit was that my original phone's camera would not focus.The Apple Store Regent Street verified there was a hardware problem but was unable to replace the part.The Apple Store Regent Street had me call the US AppleCare. At first they denied support, but then a supervisor, name can be provided upon request, approved the replacement of my original phone with an iPhone 5 (A1429 GSM model) as a temporary solution until I got back in the US. And approved that the GSM model would be replaced with a CDMA model when I came back to the US. I will refer to the GSM model as the "replacement". They gave me the case number --------.The Apple Store Regent Street gave me the replacement and took the original. The first replacement did not work for reasons I do not understand. They switched out the replacement several times until they got one that worked on the T-Mobile nano SIM card that I had purchased in England, UK. Please refer to the repair IDs below to track the progression of phones given to me at the Apple Store Regent Street:Repair ID ----------- (Nov 15)Repair ID ----------- (Nov 16)Repair ID ----------- (Nov 16)The following case number was either created in the UK or France between November 15 to November 24. The Genius told me that my CDMA phone should not have been replaced with a GSM model in the UK and that this was clearly Apple's fault. They had me call the AppleCare UK.My issue was escalated to a tier 2 UK AppleCare agent. His contact information can be provided upon request. He gave me the case number -----------.The UK tier 2 agent became upset when he heard that I was calling from France and that the France Apple Store or France AppleCare were not helping me. He told me that my CDMA phone should not have been replaced with a GSM model in the UK and that this was clearly Apple's fault.The UK tier 2 agent said he was working with engineers to resolve my problem and would call me back the next day on November 25, 2012.While at the Apple Store Les Quatre Temps, a Genius switched the phone given to from repair ID ----------- with a new one that worked with the French nano SIM card.Also, while at the Apple Store Les Quatre Temps, I initiated a call with AppleCare US to get assistance because it seems that AppleCare UK was more upset that France was not addressing the issue rather than helping me. I have email correspondance with the AppleCare US representative.A Genius at the Apple Store Les Quatre Temps switched the replacement with a new GSM model that worked on the French SIM card but would not work if restored, received a software update, or had the SIM card changed. This is the same temporary solution I received from the Apple Store Regent Street in the UK.By this point, I had spent between 12-14 hours in Apple Store or on the phone with an AppleCare representative.Upon arriving in the US, I went to my local Apple Store Brea Mall to have the replacement switched with a CDMA model. They could not support me. He told me that my CDMA phone should not have been replaced with a GSM model in the UK and that this was clearly Apple's fault. My instructions were to call AppleCare US again.My call with AppleCare US was escalated to a Senior Advisor, name can be provided upon request, and they gave me the case number -----------. After being on the phone with him for over an hour, his instructions were to call the Apple Store Regent Street and tell them to review my latest notes. They were to process a refund for a full retail priced iPhone 5 64BG black onto my credit card so that I could use that money to buy a new iPhone 5 64GB black at the Apple Store Brea Mall to reoslve the problem.The Apple Store Regent Street did not process my refund. He, name can be provided upon request, told me that the AppleCare US did not do a good job reviewing my case, that they were incapable of getting to the bottom of it like they were, and instructed me to call AppleCare US and tell them to review this case number and this repair id. I asked if he read the notes from the AppleCare US Senior Advisor and he would not confirm nor deny. When I offered to give him the case number he accepted but it seemed like would do no good. Our call was disconnected.
