My iPhone wouldn't charge and died and it is now fully unresponsive to any charger will apple replace it if I still have a warranty? How will they know it still has a warranty?
I've had my iPhone since release date. Everything has been working great up until about a week ago. The phone has an amazing battery life, I guess an update fixed that for me. But now my iPhone will reset itself out of no where 3-4 times a day at random times. The keyboard will get stuck on the screen after entering something and clicking done. Also the iPhone will freeze (I've tried leaving it for as long as a half an hour) and be totally unresponsive. I usually have to use the sleep/wake button in combination with the home button just to reset the phone so it works. It also randomly drops and won't connect to my home wifi at all, I also have a iMac, MacBook Pro, iPad mini, iPad 3, iPhone 3, 3GS, 4, 4S and all of these work flawless with zero problems on my wifi network. My warranty is out in September, but I'm worried about going to an apple genius and having them ask me to re create the problem. What if it doesn't happen at that time? What can I do?
Hello, i had my iPhone 5 exchanged few weeks ago due to button unresponsive, i recently noticed my iPhone becomes very hot on back panel and left side of the phone is this normal? Should i take it to apple again?
My iPhone5 has become unresponsive to the Home Button. What's up with that?
Hi all, So just got two slightly paranoid questions, but as my iPhone 5 is brand new I just want to be sure. Battery lifeSo I had a 3GS prior to purchasing the 5 and I just feel that the battery life is less than ideal. My battery lasts 1.5 days (with my turning off the phone when I sleep). Is this about right? Low to medium usage, i.e. chatting, surfing a bit, checking emails and social media with WiFi on and GPS off and most notification off and medium brightness and 3G turned on. Is 1.5 days right or should it last longer? I am pretty sure my 3GS lasted longer when I first bought it. unresponsive buttonsI purchased the phone about a week ago. An iPhone 5 16gb. I haven't dropped it and this far the only way I have charged is to let it drain fully and charge it back up to 100%. It has worked fine this far but today something slightly odd happened. The phone had gone to sleep and I needed to check something but the home button was completely unresponsive. I pressed it a number of times but absolutely nothing happened. I also tried the top button, again nothing happened. Then I tried holding the top button because I thought that I might have turned it off accidentally. Again, nothing. The little "you need to charge your phone" screen didn't even come up. I might add that the phone had 23% juice at this time. Then I tried to connect it to the charger and the moment I plugged in the phone it came back to life. It has worked fine since. My question is, can anyone explain this? Is the phone broken somehow? What could have caused it? As I said, I haven't dropped the phone at all, and I've only had it for about a week so this seems very odd indeed.
I changed my front screen and LCD last night and it went well. I turned the phone on afterwards and was using it. It then went dead. So i put on charge and now it wont charge up! it comes up the red bolt and the charger sign. (like a spanner) but doesnt charge. HELP PLZ
So I've had the black iPhone 5 since October and only recently has the power button been a little off. I tried finding solutions for this online and the problem can be displayed in this video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4uSROJwU_w Sometimes it works, but more than half the time clicking the power button on the right side will cause it to either not respond or cause it to blink (if locked) or lock then turn back on instantly (if trying to lock and screen is on). Left side seems to work fine but I'd just like to know what the cause is and if it's due to hardware issues covered by the one year warranty.
Hi, I Bought my iPhone 5, 2 months ago and I accidentally dropped it in a sink full of water. I retrieved it very quickly and it turned out that the screen was still on. So I quickly dried it and just left it for a few minutes (thinking my iPhone is okay). But when I opened my iPhone later on, I realised that the right side of my screen became unresponsive to touch. Sometimes it will recognise it, sometimes it doesn't and sometimes it types out a lot of letters even if I only tap the screen one. Anyone can help me what's wrong with it and how I can fix it? Should I bring it to apple? How much will it cost to fix it? Or should I just leave in in a bag of rice? Thanks
Dear Friends, I hope apple is looking into the posts by customers. I was browsing through the forum and found single threads of issues. I think I am facing all in one and look forward for people who are facing similar issues. I have a iphone 4 on AT&T. everything was working great till 6.0 & problems since I upgraded to 6.1. Since then it has been quite unstable. below are some of the issues I am facing... 1. Phone sometimes goes unresponsive or very slow response for some apps [ action took..cleared all apps restarted/rebooted..no use]2. The signal strength has considerably dropped from before and sometimes says no service. Before I had atleast some good signal strength near my home.3. The battery drain issue..sometimes I feel the battery on usage makes the phone go hot. 4. As soon I unplug from the power, the phone drops couple of %'s over 10 min even without usage or very slight usage.5. The worst of all..sometimes the phone access 3g even when there is WIFI..it takes sometime to realize there is wifi..but all the time I think is using 3G to start off or completely on 3g all the times. I restarted the phone couple of times but no luck. I never had this problem before 6.1. If any one have solutions or geniuses on solving at the least the priority one's let me know. Will be of great help. thanks! -Sri
My iPhone 5 has been working fine until it randomly inverted the colours on the screen and then suddenly turned itself off. When I tried to turn it back on my phone was unresponsive, even while pressing the sleep and home button at the same time. I even did all of this with and without the charger and it still won't turn on. Help?
My iphone was dropped a few days ago and the screen became unresponsive. All the buttons work fine, but I can't swipe to turn it on or enter my passcode. I took the phone to an Apple store and was told by a not-nice guy that there was nothing they could do and that I could not get any of my photos off of the phone because I had the phone passcode protected. I thought Apple wanted everyone to passcode their phones! I wish I had known that this would prevent me from accessing my photos if anything happened to my phone. I have sadly come to accept that my phone cannot be fixed and that I will need to shell out big bucks for a replacement. However, I cannot accept that there is no way to retrieve the material on my phone. When I plug the phone into the computer, it is recognized fine and stuff will download to the phone. However, iTunes tells me that it cannot synch FROM the phone until I enter the passcode on the phone, which of course, I cannot do . I am really hoping that someone will know some trick to getting stuff off of a phone with an unresponsive screen. Please, please help this very sad iphone user. The photos are all the photos I have of my young daughter. I know, I should have learned to to back my phone up, but when I tried a few months ago, I couldn't figure it out, so I have no backup. I even tried to set up iCloud, but I couldn't figure that out either. I suppose I deserve to lose all the photos from my daughter's babyhood . Thanks for helping if you can! (please!!)
Okay guys, Here is my issue with some backstory; Bought a black 64gb iPhone 5 new as soon as they first came out.No issue. I upgrade my iOS as soon as updates come out, and this issue has been present since I upgraded to iOS 6.1.And has not been fixed since then. I sent a feedback form to apple before 6.1.2 was released, now even at 6.1.3 the issue has not been fixed. It's difficult to describe, and very hard to find anyone else with the same issue online, as the keywords used are similar to many other issues. Basically, when my phone is locked and the screen is off, I press a button, no response, this can be any button, even trying to power down the unit, but nothing happens. I can plug in the charger, no sound, no vibration, but 30-60 seconds later, the screen will come on, the phone will vibrate, and it will make a sound. Everything is back to normal. I've tried restoring, but it doesn't fix the problem, I would think it's a software issue as it only became an issue after I upgraded to iOS 6.1. This isn't an isolated incident as my girlfriend who I also set up with a black 16gb iPhone 5 is also having the exact same issue. There doesn't appear to be any sort of trigger that causes it, it can happen once a day, or once every few days, or 10 times in 2 hours! It's not a huge issue I know, but it has led to missing calls, and even missing bids on eBay etc. I'm just here to see if anyone else is experiencing this issue, and to see if there's a proper way to describe this... freezing? unresponiveness? And perhaps this might help other people with the same issue if we find a way to resolve it. Thanks for reading!
Prior to updating to 6.1.3, my iphone 5 was working normally. Yesterday I updated to 6.1.3 (from 6.1.2) via wifi. The update was smooth but after the phone restarted, the home button is unresponsive. I have tried to recalibrate using the on/off button technique to no avail. Even tried to recalibrate using different stock apps to no avail. Cleaned the button to no avail. The button only responds to depressing it really hard which is not a good idea in case it causes the button to get stuck. Has anyone else noticed this? Any ideas?
Bought my iphone 5 on dec 20,2012 from www.widgetcity.com.ph. Just this passed 2 weeks the sleep/wake button is unresponsive it's about 3 out of 5 chances. I noticed that the left most side works fine but the rest of the button is dead. I'm from albay, philippines and i don't have any access to near apple service provider. Any suggestions? Thanks!
hi! i bought my iphone 5 (32gb black) 4 months ago and its been in a otterbox case since the first day and now i started to experince an issue with the power button. It has become unresponsive but if a press the left side of the button it works but if i press de right corner doesn't. if i take it to the store will i get a new phone as a replacement?
Hey, I purchased my 16gb iPhone 5 on launch day, however within the last month or two I have had nothing but trouble with the lock/power button. In order to use the button i have to press the lock button roughly ten times in one are before it will actually lock my iPhone. I cannot lock my phone a majority of the time, take screen shots, once my phone crashed and switched itself off i couldnt get the phone back on for a good wee while, resetting the phone without itunes has been a huge issue too. I have factory reset the phone through itunes and continued to search for numerous solutions, nothing seems to work. I stay pretty far out from an Apple store and have tried contacting apple via phone though they just told me to reset ect and when i told them that wasnt working the guy highiligted there was nothing more the company could do for me. I love apple and the quality most of their products have, I do however feel rather let down by my iPhone five as i have had other issues with it too. Can anybody reccomend anything else to try if they have had the same issue?? or if you have gone to an apple store have they been able to replace it?? its a pretty pricey journey to make for no solution to be offered.
MY new iphone5 home button is sometimes unresponsive. I never had this problem with my iphone 3 in three years of using it. Is this a faulty phone or can it be fixed?
Help... My iPhone 4 is completely unresponsive.... Black screen no charge no restore. It's dead....what do I do?
I have had my iPhone 5 for approximately 4 months, about a month ago the lock button became unresponsive not only on the right side but the left as well. Is there anyway to get this fixed without going to an Apple Store?
The sleep/wake button on my iPhone 5 has become unresponsive.. i have booked an appointment with the Genius Bar but what i'm wandering is, will they replace it for me for free?
I have noticed that if I press to the right of the button it always fails but works if i press on the left side. Is anybody else having this issue???
Iphone 5 screen is repeatedly unresponsive at the edges. This has ruined my enjoyment of this device. I cannot play my games properly at all. The first iPhone 5 I obtained through contract I went straight to Apple store complained and had it replaced only to discover exactly the same problem manifest in the device. If you try to slide the screen with icons below the level of the last row of icons it doesnt respond. This has contributed to the Iphone share price demise. Together with MAPS its simply unnaceptable that a company with billions of Dollars in cash could not implement proper maps OR mis the production checking for the less respnsibve screen. People have come to reply on these devices it is poor shoddy work to implement this slackness in a product that led the world so wonderfully in previous versions, now look.. Samsung have caught up and are now the biggest phone maker in the world. That is not something Steve Jobs would have acepted.
Hi, ever since I updated my iPhone 5 to iOS 6.1, my power button doesn't respond 100% of the time.Around 6 to 10 times I'm getting an unresponsive lock button. If you lock the device, unlock it, and try to lock it again, it won't react. However, if you wait a few seconds, it does react. I tested it with 3 other iPhone 5 and it's the same, so I blame it to iOS 6.1. It does happen when I'm using apps, but how I described before is a clear way to reproduce it.Does it happen to you guys too?
Can the apple store replace my iphone 5 if the on off sleep button being unresponsive and only the left side works and if I got my phone from sprint and it's about 3 months old?
I bought iPhone 5 4 months ago at SF Apple Store but now im living at Turkey and we dont have Apple Store here so i can't take my iPhone to the store can i ship my iPhone to US or i just live with it or is there any way to fix it in Turkey? Please help me!
So I am on a snowboarding trip and as in whatever you do nowadays you are not the only one with an iPhone, however on this trip, every time we were out in the cold (20's) my iphone was the only one that would not respond to my touch (no gloves ofcourse) I tried other's phones as some said my hands were too cold and ofcourse they worked. I borrowed other's cases just in case that was the problem, and no luck! Ofocurse reset the phone like 10 times and no difference. The only thing that worked for a while was sticking a toe warmer to the back of the phone!! the real iPad!! ok not funny. I am obviously experiencing a hardware issue here, can anyone share if they have had this issue fixed out of warranty?? PS I have been able to replicate the problem just by putting the phone in front of the AC vent in MAX.. Thanks for your help!!
i have just bought a new iphone 5 a week ago. at first it goes well but now i have problem with the power button. now i must press harder on the right area of the button to make it works. and this really annoyed me. do you have any idea?
My iPhone 4 is around 2 years old now, and it has been working pretty well. But from a few weeks, I am facing problems in the touchscreen. First, the bottom left corner went unresponsive (making me tilt the phone everytime I needed to insert a symbol). The a few days back the entire left edge of the screen got dead. And today, even the bottom edge of the screen has become unresponsive to touch. So you see, the defect is spreading. Typing on my dear phone has become a pain. I have taken utmost care of my phone and the screen is *scratchless*. I have never dropped my phone. There has been no physical damage AT ALL.I have seen many discussions where the phone got replaced by a brand new one, but most of then have been in the USA. I am living in New Delhi, India and I would like to know if any such replacement schemes are available here. And if yes, are they applicable in my case? If not replaceable, how much will a new touchscreen cost my pocket here in India?
My phone was responding very slow, I tried restarting it, but the phone froze with the apple logo on startup .. I tried to restore the phone thro itunes, but the restore just keeps failing with error code 21. Can you please let me know what can be done.. my phone is not just dead and not usable.
I think I have a problem that many wish they had prior to google releasing an updated Maps application. I updated to iOS6 and got the new Apple Maps app, but still retained the Google Maps app as well. This is one of the kind of apps that can't be deleted, like SMS, Phone, etc. I can move it around, and generally used to just stuff it away on the last page, but now I want to make an effort to remove it. Looking at the file system, at the .ipa files, the built in .ipa's are not included. Anyone know where those are stored, so perhaps I could remove that, to see if it would remove it from my phone on next sync? I did a backup and restore the other day, still no change. I did a backup, completely erased my phone to factory, then did a restore, which also didn't work. And finally, though I really didn't want to, I went ahead and erased my phone with the intention of rebuilding it from scratch, though the darn Maps app was still there, so just backed up a step and did a restore to my last backup point to save the hassle of setting up my phone from ground zero. I have added two screen shots, one wiht my mouse selecting a normal app so you can see I get the "X" to delete icon on the app, and the other with the maps application selected so that you can see I DO NOT get the "X". I filtered the left list to just the google ones, but have tried various other combinations such as "maps" to locate it, it is not in the list, just as "phone", "sms", and "mail" are not in the list. Any help would be appreciated Message was edited by: this-is-my-alias because I forgot to add the image attachments.
my iphone 4s is in perfect physical condition (no marks or water damage), it is also still under the 1 year warranty. recently the back has started to lift up and come off and the phone is now slowing down and becoming unresponsive, will apple replace it?
Alright, so I know this has been posted on here before - but I've completely exhausted all of my options up to this point, and I need advice. I just bought an iPhone 4 from a friend, and the home button was sort of unsresponsive when I purchased it. Yesterday morning, the home button stopped working completely. I took it to the Apple store to either get it replaced or find out what the problem is. They wouldn't replace it for me, and told me that no water damage or physical destruction had caused the button to malfunction. They(sadly) wouldn't even try cleaning it out for me. So, I took it home and started a Google rampage on how to fix it. Calibration, rubbing alcohol, taking the back off and pressing down on the back, I tried it all. Nothing worked, and it is still unresponsive 100% of the time. Does anyone know of something that can fix this issue? It's looking like I need the button replaced...Any and all advice welcome!Cheers,Alex
When using the lock button on my iphone 5, my phone is either unresponsive or the screen turns off and then straight back on again. What can I do to solve this problem? I have only had it for about a month.
(I'm too wordy, I know. Sorry. Please forgive my throwing a bit of catharsis in with my query.) Am I missing something? I hear different things from different people & I'm hoping for a final word from an authority. When I got my iPhone 4 at the Santa Barbara CA store 2yrs ago I was told that unless I paid the $100 for an extended warranty then I would only be covered for the 30 or 90 days required by law and I'd be on my own after that. (I don't recall the exact number, just that it was a shockingly short period of time.) I found that surprising because I'd heard such great things about Apple customer service, but I thought that maybe that greatness came at a cost of $100 and no one ever mentioned that part. So when our phones started having trouble within 6 months of buying them I did the repairs myself. I had to replace an unresponsive home button on my phone and had to replace the cell antenna on my wife's phone to fix her reception problems. (Yes, it was in a case. Replacing the antenna fixed it.) Now it's time to re-up my contracts so I'm looking at new hardware and I see one year factory warranty on the iPhone. Those iPhones 4 were my first Apple purchase and since then they've been my only one as I've been thinking this whole time that the only way to get the good service everybody talks about was to pay extra for it. Yes, I understand $100 isn't much if I have to replace the phone out-of-pocket, but an extra $200 over the cost of the phones 'at the register' was too much for me to handle. (I have to admit to harboring some resentment over the whole thing, as if I'd gone to this hot new club everyone was talking about only to find I couldn't afford the cover and had to watch from the outside as everyone else enjoyed themselves.) Is this year warranty a new thing or does this vary by state so that a CA store would say something different? Did I just not understand? Is/was it true that the warranty is the minimum required by law unless you purchase additional coverage? I feel like I'm missing something. Shame on me for taking some random salesdude's word for it and not digging deeper sooner, but that's what I'm doing now. So...?
Anyone having issues with unresponsive home button on iPhone 5?
I got my first ever iPhone on 9/21/12. Immediately, when I opened the package, I noticed a scratch in the aluminum side. I read a lot of posts on this forum about scratches, but I decided I would let it go since my scratch wasn't that big. Two days later, I realized that the battery life was terrible and only lasts me about a day and a half before I have to recharge again. I also noticed that whenever I had to type in my password for the App Store to buy an app, the screen would flicker on the second row of keys on the keyboard when I switched to the numbers (9/23). That problem seems to have disappeared for now ever since I updated the software. The voicemail doesn't seem to work unless I turn the cellular data off (I think that's just because I don't know how it works) and I receive voicemails LATE. Lately, this month, I have noticed that my iPhone 5 screen freezes midway whenever I try to swipe to the next pages. It also freezes every half second when I am trying to type anything. The "send" button also doesn't respond to me when I press it. The home screen button is the only thing that I can press to unfreeze everything, but it's getting really frustrating to do that every other second. Since two days ago, whenever I am repeatedly trying to press an app or swipe, random apps start to open up even though my finger is no where near it. Lately, it has also been unresponsive to any touch (like sliding to unlock), but I wonder if it's because my hands are too cold... Just a few minutes ago, my iPhone was acting possessed and started opening up a text conversation and switching to another text BY ITSELF. I wasn't even touching it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What can I do? Is it too late to bring it to the Apple Store to get a new one? It's been two months since I opened it and I have never dropped it and I kept the original screen protectors on it for a month until my actual screen protectors arrived.
So i have a 30 month old 4S. Works great except home button sticks in unresponsive mode. I have to press it anywhere from 3- 50 times to get it to engage and return me to the home screens.it always eventually engages but I think sooner or later it will not and then I will be sunk. Anyone know how to unstick a home button?
I've had my iPhone 5 since launch day and have had no problems up until about a week ago. It's one of my most prized possessions (along with all my other Apple products) so I've been super careful with it, and have never dropped the phone. However, the sleep/wake button is very unresponsive. It's fine when pushing on the left most side of the button, but the rest to the right is completely unresposive. Any ideas as to how I go about fixing this? Thanks.
I’ve had the iPhone 5 now for a little over a week and found the screen to act unresponsive at times. For example, I have noticed that it commonly occurs when I enter my passcode. One of the numbers usually won’t register and I have to go back and retap the digit. It also occurs when I hit “Install App” or “Send” on a SMS. I hit it once and nothing happens, sometimes twices before it registers. Has anyone else had a similar problem? What would be the correct course of action to bring this to Apples attention? Thank you.
My wife left her iphone on the side whilst bathing our son, turned her back to get a towel, and he had her phone in the bath... it was only submerged for a few seconds but is now totally unresponsive... Ive tried drying it out in rice... still no joy.... can someone lend any advice? thanks
After changing to different country's sim the right part of the touch screen stopped responding and when it did response it opened other apps than those I touched.I tried software update (IOS6), reset all settings, reboot
Okay so my iphone 4 ios 6.0 is completely unresponsive , wont respond when plugged into wall (with several different chargers - for hours at a time) wont enter dfu (home & power button does nothing.) itunes or computer wont recognize it. no apple logo & or "connect to itunes" no battery symbol nothing. help ? ive tried everything -
Dear Apple, After upgrading my well functioning iPhone 4 from version 6 to 6.01 the following occurs.. - When turning the phone on you no longer need to enter the pincode to unlock the simcard (Nice benefit but unwanted).- The phone is unresponsive in many Apps (That is being generous and kind with my words).- The phone just locks up and you are forced to reset it (I like seeing the Apple Logo over and over).- Answering incoming calls is not possible (I didn't want to talk to my boss anyway). So in essence Apple, thank you for turning my iPhone into a "brick". 1. Yes, I have restored it to the factory settings.2. Yes, I have tried and restore it to a previous backup.3. Yes, I have installed no 3rd party Apps and still see the same problems.4. No, the phone is not jailbroken. What is even better is that no matter how many iPhones (Version 4) I try this on (Because we have multiple). I get the same pleseant surprise... So my phone and all of the others will be resting in a drawer until you decide to post another update. Thank you so much for your spectacular integration testing across hardware versioning platforms. Being in the Semiconductor industry myself this is one of those things that makes "us" hardware people dislike you "software" people. Sincerily yours, Ugh
I am having intermittent problems with two new iPhone 5 screens. The screen is sometimes very non-responsive. This is particularly an issue when turning things like Airplane Mode on and off. The other day I was trying to turn it off, and I had to swipe the button 5-6 times before I could get the screen to respond. This was never an issue on my old iPhone 4. It is very annoying. This happens when the phone is not plugged in, and I only use Apple chargers and cables. This is happening for myself on my iPhone 5, and also for my daughter on her iPhone 5. My daughter wants her old phone back. Again, this was NEVER an issue on our old phones.
I noticed my screen became unresponsive and behaving erratically while it was charging. The charger is an Apple OEM charger. If I unplug it from the phone the screen begins to work normally again.
my siri is unresponsive on my iPhone 5, tried resetting it and sync but no luck, any ideas?
My iPhone 4 was able to get to this screen yesterday while connected to the wall. I was advised by the iPhone to "Connect to iTunes" so i did. I was told it would erase all data and then install the iOS 6, fine. I got home, as i was my friends and they did not have wifi (I thought it would be quicker and cheaper on me to be within wifi so i waited until i got home) and it is now completely unresponsive. I wish to know how much it would cost me to fix it? As it is exactly 4 days outside warranty. Which as you would expect is just really great for a University student. Home button has also been broken for the last 4 months, and i have not been able to get that fixed as well. I have been instead using the assistive touch function. The iPhone has not received abuse of any kind, i have not dropped it and it has not come into contact with water. Please help me, this is maybe my most valuable possession and i am close to dependent on it. Cheers, Cam
It has done this once before, and started working again, but now it is completely unresponsive when connected to AC power, USB plug-in, the lot. iPhone now at 0% battery, and I have no way of charging it. Is anyone having simliar issues? And is there a fix, as I won't be able to get to an apple store for a wee while, and the lightning cable is not really mass market yet!
The right side of my screen started getting a little bit weird just a few weeks ago. At first I ignored it because it just starts working again randomly, but now it just happening more often, and now I think this time it won't go away, the problem is that the right side of my screen doesn't respond to touches, sometimes it responds but I have to touch harder and multiple times, and most of the time when I'm typing something it presses search when I try to backspace or reach a word near search. Also I noticed that the right side responds to touches without me touching it, I just put my finger over the music app for example, and sometimes it opens, from just putting my finger near the app, I don't touch the screen, it's like it has a super sensor or something, and sometimes it responds to touches on the top right corner by touching the area next to speaker, not the actual screen, and again, it does that whenever it feels like doing that, but the right side has been unresponsive almost all day today, the only way to open apps is by tapping harder, most of the time it doesn't respond, and it detects touches in some places from 2 or 3 cm away, this is all just with the right side of my screen and I have tried putting phone in DFU mode, and respringing, but non of that works and I don't wanna restore as I will lose fw 5.1.1 ( I don't like iOS 6), so my question is, would this be a software problem, or should I take phone to a nearby apple store for them to check it, it's still under warranty, the phone is in perfect condition, no scratches or anything, I've always had a case with it, the problem is not the case since it does the same without the case, if there is something wrong with it, I'd like a repair, but I can also have a new phone as long as it's free and I can get all my apps back.
