My wife has either lost or had her iphone 3G. She asked the network provider to block its use and thinks that it should now be useless for anyone that found it as it is also locked with a PIN. What can a person who has found (stolen?) the iphone do with it? Okay so I havent lost service, I have 5 bars and 3G in my area...but Im having some serious issues. I was texting several people until midnight, all texts stopped for some reason...at 12:45am I received several texts within 5 minutes, all labeled around 12:05am. I still had a perfect signal (Im sitting at home, never had problems before). Sending messages is difficult too, about 70% of them hung up while trying to send and failed...but then some sent perfectly. 3Gs iphone OS 3.1.2 Fairly new iphone, no problems at all before...not jailbroken.

Basically, I was syncronising and it failed.Then I Re-Tried connecting again but same problem.So closed iTunes and Re-Opened it.It then recocnised the iphone as a new iphone and had to configure the settings.It then asked me to back up the Apps but on doing that, removed them from my iphone and it reset again, now Ive lost all Apps & Settings and is asking me to Re-Install the apps.Help?Its threatining to delete the current apps and replace them with the ones it was able to back up but thatll mean I loose 75% of my Apps HP Pavillion Windows Vista Laptop

Network lost Messages iphone

Am currently in an house where there is no phone coverage but there is a wi-fi connection. My iphone 3gs has an annoying habit of telling me every few minutes that the network connection has been lost and asks me to either to dismiss the message or go to settings and choose another network. If I dismiss the message it repeats after a few minutes. If I go to airplane mode this will presumably stop but then I cant connect to the internet via wi-fi. Is there a way to turn off this constant reminder and still allow internet access via wi fi? G5 dual 2ghz processor Mac OS X (10.4)

I have a weird problem. My phone hasnt been dropped on the ground or in water but all of a sudden, the home button doesnt work anymore. Nothing feels broken on the phone (i.e. the button doesnt feel like it wont press down) but whenever Im in an app and need to exist, pressing the home button does nothing! If Im in my email and want to surf safari, I have to reboot my phone - which is obviously very annoying. I tried restoring my iphone as both a new phone and from my latest backup but it still doesnt work - bummer. Hi all,I lost my iphone 3G about 2 hours ago - I was on my motorbike and it fell off my pocket.What Im stressing about is not the phone itself (as painful as that is), but all the personal data it contained, LOADS of emails with confidential details, iCal entries, etc.Since it fell off my pocket whilst I was moving, I only hope that it got damaged - I tried phoning as soon as I realised, but it seemed to be switched off. iphone freezes and randomly wakes up from sleep 3G

I did a standard PC sync to iTunes Friday 12/11 with no software update. Ever since, my iphone 3G applications (safari/mail/messages) will freeze then close completely. The phone also restarts itself without warning, and when its connected to a charger (either wall or PC) it will wake up from sleep with the clock showing the wrong time, chime like youve just connected the charger then after a few seconds it will chime again and the clock returns to normal and the phone goes back to sleep. Ive tried doing a restore from backup using iTunes. Do I need to do a restore as if its a new iphone? Does anyone have any suggestions? 3G Windows Vista

Apps Crashing iphone Backup Fail 3G

So, all my apps were crashing on my iphone except for the ones that were Apples (safari, Mail, Settings, etc etc etc). Fine - problem with the OS. I tried restarting my iphone but the problem persisted. Some files must be corrupted. Ive downloaded and deleted apps and havent done a restore in 3 months. Backup, restore, and things will be okay, right? Not really.Ive done this before, so I wasnt expecting that none of the apps would sync or get backed up. After I restored, only the standard Apple applications appeared on my phone. However, they were arranged on the pages in my most recent organization (mail and app store on the second page, iTunes store stocks and microphone recorder on the third). Obviously when I backed up it took note of this.And for some reason the apps did not sync with iTunes so now I need to rummage through my purchase history and re-download them(however, a recently purchased app is not listed there at all. never got a receipt in my inbox, either).Im a little ****** because Ive lost some information that I would have liked to keep, such as the hundreds of words Ive saved in the Wordbook App, favorites from iWiki, and log data from iFitness. This is information that Ive been accumulating for almost a year. At least losing my saved games makes them replayable.Now, I understand the information is gone and there is nothing to do about it, but Im still not okay with this. Has anyone else experienced this problem?? If so, does anyone know what the cause could be? I didnt install/remove/sync anything. Was this caused by a virus? Hello, I requested that my carrier completely block all data from my phone. Now I sometimes get a message saying could not connect to cellular network etc. opping up in my home screen Is this because my phone is trying to do automatic updates etc. that require data and is showing this error because of the data block. I would also like to mention that I get this same message when I try to connect to safari, Mail etc. with no Wi-Fi (because my data is being blocked) but that message only pops up when I try to access data specific progrmas. Fascinating Icon appeared only twice iphone 3G

Get a load of this: When using my 3g in OS3.1.2 an icon popped up right in the middle of the screen in my running application (I cant remember the app, prob safari). It was an icon of my iphone, and touching it allowed me to SPEEEEED scroll in either direction, up or down. I have not been able to recall this little gem, though I have tried every tap sequence I can think of.Has anyone else seen this, and can you tell me how to make it appear when I want it to? Hey, recently i restored my phone, and updated it too the latest software through itunes, that wasnt a problem. the problem comes now aftwer buying a majorty of my library through the store, i am getting constant crashes in ipod mode which is sending me insane. I can play 1 song then it will crash at the end, can only play 20 seconds of video, then that crashes, if i touch the navigation slider at the top it causes insticrash. i tried looking for a solution on safari then it crashed too. This is on a fresh restore with no other apps on it except for the weather & other junk that it starts with. there is no jailbreaking, it has never been jailbroken. most of my library was purchased through the store on the phone so i do not believe at all it has to do with windows/iphone issues.i have restarted, synced it in dfu mode for giggles and tried to reset any settings i could. so then i restored it again, and it still happens.driving me insane, any other ideas before i fix it with a bigger hammer. desktop/laptop Windows 7 vista/xp

I lost my i phone some time back. It was purchased at an airtel outlet. So Im assuming other service providers SIM wont work here. I registered a complaint with the police immediately and got the SIM replaced. But when I asked them if the phone can be traced by the IMEI number they asked me to check with the police. The police are telling me to check with the service providers as they are the ones with the software. When I went back to Airtel they told me to write to Apple. Im being kicked around like a foot ball. This phone has cost me Rs.31,000/- and Im not letting go of it this easly. Sleepmaker apps have lost 99 of their volume iphone 3G

All other applications have full volume, but the Sleepmaker downloaded apps have lost most of their volume. Have tried reinstalling the applications, resetting phone, but they still have no volume. Help with syncing 2 iPhones 3G

Ive had my iphone for 4 months and have had no problems syncing it with my computer. The problem started when I purchased an iphone for my husband. Somehow I got his contacts, he got mine, and we both had some deleted. In addition, I lost ALL my bookmarks on safari, although they still appear on my phone. Im not sure how to keep our data separate! I went through the tabs and selected all of the appropriate options in iTunes (or so I thought), but am now afraid to sync either of our phones for fear of losing more data. How should I proceed? Should I do a backup from each phone? The phones start syncing as soon as iTunes is open, so what should I do before plugging the phones into my computer? I am especially concerned about losing my address book on my computer (if this is even possible), because I use these addresses for work purposes. Any information would be greatly appreciated!! 3+ hours and one very ****** off family and frustrated iphone user later...What I want to do seems so simple I cant believe it is not supported:I have a new Mac (the previous one was lost)I want to setup an iphone to synch to the new MacI have downloaded the latest version of iTunes (9) and accepted the suggestion to upgrade my iphone software to the latest versionI want the apps, videos, photos, music and contacts from the iphone to be transferred to my new Mac.The obvious first step would seem to me that there would be an option to seed my new Mac with all the information currently on the iphone.Instead it warns me all will get erased (catastrophe of course, double so since it is my WIFES iphone and life will not be worth living)Browsing the phone in iTunes shows (for example) the videos I would like to copy up; but these are greyed out and unavailable for even drag-and-drop (the manual synch check box merely offers to erase all my data on the iphone before doing anything. Self-defeating it seems!)Several other forums have directed me to improve my backups (I do but not relevant); sent me to a lengthy and instructive posting which only works for iPods, and recommended 3rd party software.I have looked at various 3rd party apps, and whilst they might help me achieve a solution my bottom line is the I am left with no confidence that a cobbled together set of 3rd party apps which may or may not work on my combination of iphone/iTune/MacOS versions will comprehensively get all the content from the iphone and make available in the normal synch process we are used to.All of which leaves me in total terror of clicking the ERASE button when asked to Synch in iTunes. HELP PLEASE-Notes Files Disappeared iphone 3G

I’m completely stunned. I just tried to look at one of my iphone notes to pull up some important data and noticed that all but one of them are gone. Poof – vanished.I had spent hours entering this information – much of which I don’t have replicated elsewhere – thinking that the **** stuff would stay there on my phone (and backed up on my PC) until I edited or deleted them. Only to discover they can just magically disappear. If this is a synching issue, than that’s a problem. All the notes were painstakingly entered by hand on my phone. I’ve never entered any notes on my PC so there’s absolutely no reason why synching should EVER override or delete any of my Notes. No reason whatsoever!!I can’t begin to describe how livid I am that this could happen. I’m assuming that most people use Notes to store important information they want at their fingertips (confirmation numbers, flight information and frequent flyer numbers, etc.) Heck, I even had a notes page to record cute anecdotes related to my two little toddlers which I tend to quickly forget unless I jot them down right after they happen.Maybe this is something that’s easily restored, and if so, good job Apple, for at least ensuring that important data isn’t randomly lost. If on the other hand those programmers managed to F this one up and created a synching process that will randomly deletes important files for no good reason….. then that’s a fatal flaw in my book and I’ll be **** ****** I ever switched to an iphone.And please don’t tell me that there’s a little pop-up that says some files will be modified or deleted when I synch. I expect files to be modified, deleted or overwritten when I synch, thats the way it should be. It should happen all the time, but ONLY when I actually modify or change or delete them. Not at random by a f’d up synching program.Sorry for my attitude, but as I mentioned earlier, I am stunned. It’s not the time (hours) that I invested putting all this important stuff into various iphone notes files, it’s the fact that unless this information can be recovered somehow, much of that data will be irrecoverable. Since I havent pulled up my Notes files in the last week or two, I have no idea when these files were erased. I woke up and ALL of my music was gone iphone 3G

To start off, its not from sync. I tried another forum and most insisted I did not sync the phone correctly. Truth is, I havent bothered to sync it since probably October and my music was fine until I signed into the iTunes store. It downloaded one song and the rest dissapeared. The song I downloaded from iTunes shows up, but does not play. I know I will never buy anything from iTunes ever again, too much of a pain since I lost a lot of music that was purchased between October and now. Live and Learn. Is anyone else having this problem? Suddenly Getting Dropped Calls iphone 3G

I have had my iphone 3G for a few months now. I bought it used but the person had just received it as a replacement under warranty when is iphone broke. (Basically it was only used about 1 week when I got it.) Within the last week, I have had many dropped calls. For the first couple of months I had my phone, I did not have any dropped calls (unless I lost signal). This is obviously very frustrating and I am unsure why I am suddenly having this problem. I just updated to 3.1.2 or what ever and it said i had an error and need to restore my iphone, i backed up my phone before updating and thought this meant the music too. After i restored the backed up files all my music and apps were gone. Media unaccessable from iPod app iphone 3G

I downloaded a song using my phone from iTunes, and when I went to listen to it via the iPod app only that song and two others I had downloaded earlier today remained available from the several gigs I had. Also unavailable were my Podcasts and Videos. Clearly they are still in my phone somewhere (only 7.5GB available from ~15GB) but the iPod app has lost them somewhere. This isnt the first time this has happened. Can I do anything other than doing a complete restore from backup? The iphone wasnt plugged in to anything between the time I downloaded the song and all my songs were missing. Im running 3.1.2 on my phone. Acer Aspire One Windows XP

Both my laptop (OS 10.5) and iphone 3G can access the airport network, but only the laptop can access the internet. On the iphone, Settings>General>About shows the network and a Wi-Fi Address, so resetting doesnt seem to be a solution (although I did reset the network to no avail). On the iphone, both Mail and safari simply spin forever. Occasionally, safari will finally show the dialog Cannot Open Page because the server stopped responding… but the laptop has no problem.I tried restarting the cable modem, but that didnt work.Any ideas? Where are my backups iphone 3G

Hi All,I wonder if someone might be able to provide some insight into what went wrong with my iphone (w/latest update).Yesterday I was driving from Salt Lake City to Denver (USA). Going in and out of rural areas my phone kept losing service.The phone then got stuck in Searching... mode. Even after returning home to Denver the phone never found a cell signal.So I reset it. It took a long time for the phone to reset and pick up a local cell signal, but it seemed to be working fine.However...all was not well. When ever I select an application to view, the screen would darken (as if it were about to open the app) but then returned quickly to the home screen. No apps would open.So I decided to restore my phone. In doing so, I noticed that the latest backup was from June 2009. I religiously back up my phone at least twice per week. My last back up was on Monday night before heading to SLC for Thanksgiving.Im just trying to piece all of this together. What happened to my phone? Why could it not find a cell signal? What happened to my apps? Where are all my back ups?I now have my phone restored to the June 2009 back up but in doing so, Ive lost a lot of information. I lost all videos ans music after 3.1.2 update. Instead, I have over 8 Gig of other junk data that I cant remove. Video is completely replaceable but it was converted to other and I ended up with no free space. Does anyone have a similar problem? Any help will be appreciated. iphone 3g iphone OS 3.1.2

iPhone3G not connecting to 3G network

I have an iphone 3G with OS 3.1.2 , and Carrier AT&T 5.6 (located in the Raleigh Durham area)The problem started this morning after disconnecting from the AT&T 3G Microcell. I hav full bars but, the 3G logo is not showing up next to the carrier name. When I enter safari, it tells me that I dontt have an internet connection. When I turn the 3G radio off, the phone connects to the EDGE network and works without any problems. I have done a network reset without any results. iphone 3G sound BUG

whem i surf with safari and also at the same time run ipod on the iphone,after some time my Ihone stop play sound and display volume (headphones) even no headphones where connected. If i connect Headphones he playes that sound with no Problems over headphones like it is written on the display. It also became little bit hot. I already send my iphone away for repair... it was 6 weaks away and came back with the same bug.Ipod Crash while surf with safari. If i go to Perferences and choose another rington he still play that sound Strange thing.Could it be caused by a defect in the headphone connector ? The technican which repaired my iphone told me it was a software Problem ...otPlease need your help cause iam not far away from trowing it out of the window ... iphone 3G 3.1.2 freeze during bootup

I have been on iphone 3G 3.1.2 for a while and it has been working very well. 2 nights ago I noticed that it couldnt find carrier signal and was displaying Service Not Found message so I decided to reboot the phone. Upon reboot, it displays the apple logo, but just sits there. After a while, I notice the busy sign with the rotating clock/wheel, then after a while, it seems to power off and reboot again. Now the phone just repeats this cycle? I talked to some other users and they claim that the iphone somehow lost the software and that I just need to restore and re-install my apps. But iTune does not recognize the phone so how can I restore? Please help.Derek MacBook Pro Mac OS X (10.6.1)

lost App Store icon along with half of apps after update iphone 3G

Ive read that many of you have lost apps after the latest update. I did too, but I also lost the App Store icon, and the only way I can access the App Store now is through my Mac - not exactly convenient. iphone 3G shuts off randomly but Works PERFECTLY on charger.

I received my iphone from my friend for free. He switched over to Verizon and he said he was experiencing problems with the iphone. So I brought it home plugged it in and let it charge and it was working fine WHILE BEING CHARGED. Took it off the charger, it froze and turned off. As I kept turning it on it would stay at the apple screen then shut off. Decided to do a restore and update the software to see if it would fix the problem. Restored and updated it. Again works just PERFECT while plugged into a power source but once I take it off itll work sometime up to half an hour then shut off...the but the battery still says it has charge. I turn on the phone again and the low battery screen comes up. But if I give it some time and turn it back on it will work for a bit. The iphone while OFF the charger will stay on if idle, but once I begin texting or using safari or music it shuts off. Apple said that the strip was pink and therefore was water damage...to my knowledge it has never been wet and shows no signs of water damage. My question is will a battery replacement fix this? If not what will? Like I said it work perfectly on the charger....but when you take it off it shuts off later. PLEASE HELP! PC iphone OS 3.1.2

Dear Sir/Madam,Is there known problems with offically unlocked iphones? and why am i not getting any help?I have had the most horrible experience using the iphone and received little to no support from apple. Please refer to my case as it was logged for repair Basically I have purchased an iphone after a quick stay in Milan, Italy one year ago. I live and work in the UK. About seven weeks back my iphone become unstable and I have received a number of errors. It would start to freeze, applications could not be opened as they would close as soon as opened, the switch button would not work from time to time, and the battery would take long time to charge up as well as the safari browser application also freezing. Also the sound will not work sometimes even as people phoned me, I will not be able to hear it. This is even though I have it setup load and clear with mute button on the side switched for on.To overcome these problems I realized I could carry out regular software update and become familiar with updating the iphone software regularly. Unfortunately this did not help. The problems continued and then the iphone just switched off on the 18th October. I attempted to recharge but it will not charge up and the screen will not come up. I called the number I have for support in Italy. The speaker could not help as I spoke no Italian and the conversation become difficult. I subsequently and in the same week arranged an appointment with the apple store in White City. The staff at the Genius Bar had been very helpful and confirmed to me that the iphone had a hardware fault. They asked me to send it back to Italy by speaking to Italian colleagues. I explained that I had no way to talk to them in Italian or as suggested go to Italy to get it fixed. I called the Apple Care team and it was apparent that Apple Italy and Apple UK are not linked when it comes to supporting customers. It was explained to me that I could only be helped had I purchased the phone in the UK but as it was purchased in Italy the team here in UK had no system to enable them to help me. I have been using the iphone for one year and had purchased SIM specific for iphone from 02 on contract basis. I have been paying on average 53 pounds Sterling each month to support this plan. Please feel free to confirm with O2 with my phone SIM number xxxxxxxx.When I phoned the care Team they advised I write a letter. Im not prepared to purchase another iphone as I had paid quite a lot for the one that requires fixing. Replacing iphone 3G

Recently, my Iphones camera has stopped working. When you start the camera up it has the 6 slices and then it opens up to the screen where you see the stuff you want to take a picture of. Mine stays on the 6 slices. I called Apple and did the reset that is supposed to fix 99% of all problems but it didnt work. The guy on the phone told me to take it into the store. I have put off this trip because I have not needed my camera. Now, I have recently dropped and cracked the screen after only having it for a little over a year :. What i was wondering, is if there was any hope of getting my iphone replaced because of the camera being broken, is it all lost because of the crack? Will apple try to blame the drop that caused the crack also on why the camera doesnt work? Pc Windows XP
