iphone upgrade has crashed my iphone and causes blue screen error on PC 3G

I just tried to upgrade my software and half way through my PC crashed. It said a blue screen error had occurred. Itunes now shows that my phone needs to be restored, but everytime I try to do my PC crashes again. This has now happened three times in 1 hour. I have Itunes v.8.0 on my pc but this hasnt been a problem till now. I am so angry that I have lost everything on my phone due to a problem like this. Hi, I connected iphone for a regular sync and said yes to 3.0 update, it seemed to download update, said it would restart/reboot? iphone, then iphone showed apple symbol and a progress bar that when reached end, phone went dead, and it wont show on itunes now. Tried restarting computer, when connect iphone the apple symbol shows for a few seconds and then disapears and still doesnt show on itunes. I then uninstalled itunes completely and reinstalled, successfully synced my ipods, again connected iphone and same again. Why cache on safari so weak iphone 3G

Is it just me or is the cache iPhones safari not useful. I mean, is there cache at all? Its hard to tell because the only thing you can do with it is clear it. Where are the other settings for it? I dont see why I have to continually reload pages when I hit the back button or return to another tab. I have all this flash memory sitting empty that safari could be using to hold these web pages so I dont have to sit and wait 30 to 60 seconds every time I switch pages.I see the cache switch under Safaris settings, but i dont see a way to set the max size of the cache. Im thinking there must be a way to set a user specific size for the cache. Seems like an integral part of any browser. Is there a way to up the size of cache. Ill gladly sacrifice 500MB to 1GB of memory to cache cause it would greatly improve my web experience? I spend an awful lot of time browsing on my phone. iphone 3G iphone OS 3.0

3.0 wifi issues iphone

Ok this is very frustating. Ever since I installed the 3.0 software on my phone I have been having issues catching my emails, etc. Before my emails would appear as soon as i received them now i have to go in my email and like 10 emails load at once. Also, my WIFI doesnt work it connects perfectly fine but when i try to use (safari,youtube, maps, email, the app store) it just keeps loading until i get a error message. Whenever Im on Edge it works perfect.Anybody have suggestions in how to resolve this Windows XP

To upgrade or not iphone

Hi,I bought the 1st Gen iphone on launch day in the UK and have owned it ever since. I never upgraded to the 3G because of several reasons...1.) There is limited 3G signal in Northern Ireland.2.) I dont need the GPS Map feature, and if I did - id buy a Sat Nav.3.) I didnt fancy taking out another 18 month contract.They were the only main differences between the 1st Gen & 2nd Gen iPhones.Now the 3GS is being launched and people are saying there there isnt many main features that you wont already get with the 3.0 update... but if I upgrade, ill benefit from the 3G & GPS that ive never had, along with the video camera (and is there anything else apart from the compass & voice thingy?)So should I or should I not? Ive realized that PAYG is costing me just as much as my contract and ive lost the visual voicemail service and have the hassle of topping up every couple of weeks. A few of the 3.0 updates will not work with the 1st Gen iphone so is it time to upgrade?I can buy the 16GB 3GS for £86 and take out a 2 year contract which means that ill miss the 4th Gen iphone next year. I can sell my 1st Gen iphone which is in mint condition with loads of accessories for £200 on PAYG which technically means that I can upgrade for free and get the first couple of months of my contract free also.What would you do if you had the 1st Gen iphone? iphone issues with wifi connection 3G

while connected to my home network internet connection does not work properly. Most of the time safari will work fine, although sometimes it can say cant connect... but the most annoying of all is that itunes almost ALWAYS gets the cannot connect to itunes store error. it will often work ok when i first load it, and then if i click say the updates or seach buttons it will try to load and then fail, or if i try to install an app it keeps saying cant connect with the option to retry.. if i retry 10-15 times eventually it might work..my home network is fine. i have a few laptops that connect to it, and other iphones that connect to my network experience the same problems.my router is a billion 7500G iphone OS 3.0

I understand that the phone is supposed to recognize phone numbers in safari/email messages and give you an option to dial them. What if the phone doesnt recognize a string of numbers as a phone number, and doesnt provide the option to dial it? First of all, why? And second, is there any way to use copy/paste to dial the number? The best I could figure out was to copy the number, create a new calendar item, paste the number there, save, close and then open the calendar item, and then dial the number. Is there no way to open the dialer and paste in a string of digits?

Disappointing New 3.0 Upgrade iphone

For several months now I have been excited and waiting for the new updates presented via a video presentation.I have just recently updated to the new 3.0 OS on my iphone 3G.There were several misrepresentations that truly disappointed when looking for new futures and here are they as following:1- the iphone 3.0 upgrade video announcement available on Apple.com indicated that all the new futures would be available to the current iphone 3g... well it wasnt really mentioned that we were to expect a new hardware so one would only expect that it would be available on every iphone by simply upgrading it.2- Apple failed big to indicate that At&t wouldnt not be supporting MMS until later after the release of the 3.0 which I find a really difficult to believe... That for me is a big misrepresentation and Apple should announce an apology to all of us.3- They have mentioned that flash player would be available to the safari and that live streaming would also be available but it is not.4- My 3G seems to be even slower than it was before... The App store, the stocks app, and even safari has taken a 1 or so loading every time. Perhaps its a bug not yet fixable.5- Instant messaging like MSN still not available.6- True GPS directional app not available...It all seems very clear to me that what they want is to make you purchase the 3GS that includes the capability of video recording and editing that should have been there in the first place on the original iphones... I have the original iphone and after the update my wifi connection is not working. I connect to my network just fine, but when I try to do anything (safari, maps, weather, mail) nothing happens. I did a software update this morning. The three updates were: iDVD Update, Digital Camera Raw Compatibility Update, and safari. After that my two iPhones (one is my wifes) can not connect to iTunes, nor iPhoto. I switched cables and the connection port with no success. Like a lot of people Im hoping to switch from a 3g to a 3g s next friday. One thing Im slightly confused about, due to a previous bad experience, is the whole backup and restore thing. A few months ago my iphone was replaced by apple as it was faulty. I did a restore from backup with the new iphone and somehow it got screwed up. None of my apps got transfered to the new phone, I had to install them manually and lost all my game saves. My hard disk crashed the other day so I thought it wise to backup my iphone. As all the information on my disk was lost I selected sync all applications and manually sync music and videos in the iTunes/iPohone presets. When I clicked on apply I saw that the iphone started to erase my installed apps. So I interrupted the process. iTunes then proceeded to backup. Trying to find a way to establish the information that was on my iphone on my Mac I thought I had to restore the iphone and then resync. So I restored the iphone and found that it only reinstalled the official apps in spite of having chosen the backup that I had previous to the restore. So now I have lost all my personal apps and all the music. (all the MobileMe info was re-established without any problem). How can restoring a backup be so confusing and unreliable ? so this is just the first in a string of minor issues that is happening and i was wondering if anyone knew what might be wrong with it. the acceleronmeter is not engaging and wont turn to landscape mode. ive tried every possible remedy and cant seem to get it to work. i guess its time for a trip to the genius bar. anyone else have this issue? some of the apps which use this feature such as level apps work fine but still i cant get any landscape mode in safari etc. my pictures wont rotate and niether will my calcualtor. dell dimension 5100 Windows XP

Im a new iphone user and whenever I sync my iphone to iTunes, I always get a popup saying that the SyndicationAgent.app has been updated and needs access to my keychain again. I click on Change All and after a minute or so the pop up eventually clears but always returns again when I re-sync my iphone.Ive tried uninstalling/re-installing iTunes (8.2) and safari (4 beta) but the problem still occurs. I don;t even know what Syndication Agent.app is supposed to be doing - I gather it has something to do with RSS feeds from safari? Does anyone know how I can get rid of this popup whenever I sync? I think the iphone sync process is way too restrictive. If I download apps or enter telephone numbers, etc. directly into my phone, and then try to add something from my computer, like an app downloaeded from the iTunes store, I get the warning, all your apps, music, data, etc. will be erased from your iphone. So I am sure someone asked this before but there are just so many messages...My iphone got lost/stolen (not 100% sure) last night... I am wondering if my phonebook and my camera photos (taken by the iphone camera) are backed up somewhere? I always charged my phone via the computer and I often did syncs via iTunes...
