HelloMy computer was stolen some months ago and I have only just replaced it. This means I had been nervous about losing or breaking my iphone because it hadnt been backed up in so long.I tried backing up my iphone tonight on my new computer, and also updating it with the new software, which it did at the same time, but in the process I have lost most of my photos (I had 1100, but only 154 random photos are remaining).Does anyone know how to get these photos back? iphone 4 Bug List-iOS 4.0.2

I just wanted to post this topic as Im curious if the Apple monster will even read this or address them. I hope I get surprised. Apple makes, hands down, the most high quality of devices, but they tend to have it there way more than ours. I guess thats what makes them Apple. Without further ado, here is my list of bugs Ive noticed and I hope youll add to it. I would just love to see Apple address these:1. Performance issues with Podcasts and multiple-tasking. Youll hear stuttering on occasion, sometimes often while playing a podcast or even music. Ive noticed this at random and also at times when the phone locks or when switching out of the iPod.2. I just noticed this one: if you take the time to write on this exact site, you will find yourself getting lost, as sometimes the text goes on, and the screen doesnt follow it. Suprising that even on the iPhones home site, it cant perform the way it ought to. Youll also notice that below here, its asking me what hardware Im using and what OS. It should be clear what hardware Im on and even what OS Im running. Brilliant, considering this is Apple.com, I selected the iphone 4 section, and the browser can report the os version. Oh wow, I just lost my text again and had to press the expanding icon on the bottom right of this pane. Also, sometimes i lose my text permanently where I should be able to scroll down to find it but there arent scroll bars... The attention to detail of the aesthetics of the phone cant be matched on the outside, but again, leave a lot to be desired on the inside.3. Echo for the remote callers own voice when my phone is plugged into a stereo through the headphone jack. Even when my volume is so low, I cant hear it.4. While heavily texting, if I exit out to the home screen after/during the send of the text, my phone will freeze for a good 60-120 seconds. If I press too many buttons, trying to get it to respond, it will reboot itself instead of coming back to life. Again this only happens (very seldom) when Im sending texts to multiple random people and I abruptly go home while a message is being sent (or maybe received?).5. While playing music, the quality will often drop drastically when entering a game or application that has sounds. This has only happened in two places so far. While talking on the phone, if I go to play music on the iPod to hear in my headphones, and when entering Bejeweled 2 Blitz with the in-game music off and the sounds on, while iPod music is being played. I do not believe this is Bejeweled at fault. Try it, make a call and try and play some background music in your headphones. The quality drops to a very unacceptable level.Thats actually all I can think of for now! Please fix these issues Apple and I will gain a good bit of respect, knowing you heard and acknowledged this. Also, please, everyone post your findings as well, in addition to the Bluetooth, and proximity bugs that have seemingly been addressed but not resolved. iphone 4 iOS 4 4.0.2, thanks for the option above, and for not already knowing that.

iphone wont connect sync show up in iTunes-HELP

Hi All,I recently moved my iTunes library from my PC to Network drive.During the move due to my stupidity I lost my playlists.I have 2 x iphone 3Gs and a 160GB iPod classic.The iPod classic can sync with iTunes no problem.When I try to sync either of my iPhones nothing happens.I am using the same cable as my iPod and it starts charging the phone.My PC recognises the phone as it asks me if I want to few photos.However iTunes does not recognise the phone.I am not sure what to do as nothing has changed with the exception of where the music is located.Does anytone have any suggestions?I have been trying to get this sorted for the last 5 days with no luck. gps navigation app for Philippines iphone 3G

I would like to use my old 3g as an ipod touch while traveling in the Philippines so that if it gets lost, no big deal. It appears that the gps apps for the Philippines will work on an ipod touch. Am I correct in this assumption or is there a better app? thanks Macbook Pro Mac OS X (10.6.4)

I connected my iphone to my PC to download some Apps I bought from Itunes. In the process of syncing which included Outlook I lost some email addresses and phone numbers. Is there any way to recover those addresses and email? Are any backups kept before each sync.thanks, iphone G3s iOS 4

iphone 4-Photo Orientation Problem

Ok.Everything else appears to work fine apart from the Photo stock app.When I have used my iphone4 for a while doing numerous tasks, when I go into the photos section I orientate my device landscape & it does not seem to always recognize at all that it is landscape, however right after I can go into say safari and it rotates fine.(If I reboot the phone it seems to fix the issue and it rotates again however its not the first time its occurred.Also sometimes when I take pictures for whatever reason the phone does not recognize where you take them so the geotaging fails to work. (This could be to do with trying it indoors though). iPhone4 iOS 4

iphone 4 water damage

I lost my iphone, and someone found it for me. Apparently, the guy found it on the street. When I got it back, I tried to turn it on, and the Apple logo would come on, say connect to iTunes, then turn back off. And it would do that over and over. I called AppleCare, and found out abt the sensor at the bottom inside the dock connection, and it was red meaning water damage.Im not sure if the bag of rice trick would work, since Ive already turned it on. But thought I would ask if anyone has experienced that yet. Does it matter that Ive been turning the phone on repeatedly? I dont really mind paying the $199 to fix it, and I have an appointment on Friday, but thought I would check anyway. MacBook Pro Mac OS X (10.0.x)

My iphone 3G clashes when upgrading from 4.01 to 4.02

I need some help or advice. My iphone crashed when I upgrade from 4.01 to 4.02. It asked me whether I would like to reset. I said yes thinking it will take me back to 4.01. Actually it takes me back to the day I purchased the phone. That is to say, I lost all my programmes ( I can download them again). The worst part is, I lost my phonebook and emails account. Error safari Could not install profle due to an unknown error iphone 3G

Hello everyone, Wondering if anyone else is having issue installing iphone config profiles. I have an iphone 3G with iOS4. Also downloaded and installed the latest (2.2) iphone config utility and created a new settings profile, and uploaded it to my server.when i hit the link and attempt to download/install the profile, safari errors out with safari Could not install a profle due to an unknown error.(tested with two different 3G phones running iOS 4.0. same issue) That same newly created profile, was installed/tested on a 3.1.3 3G phone and it works fine. Any help would be greatly apperciated, as this is our corporate profile, and we need to get it working before we can allow any upgrades. MBA rev1 Mac OS X (10.6.1)

Home button stop working iphone 3G

Hi, I know what happened to my iphone 3G. Today, it was working perfectly but this night, the home button stop working. So I closed it with the top button, once restarted, the home button wasnt working. But then, it became really slow, everything had a delay of 6 seconds. I try to restart it but it got stuck the shutdown circle animation. And without the home button, I couldnt hard reset it. But suddenly, the screen goes black and now, nothing work. But when I plug it on my mac, iTunes display an error 0xE8000065.Jeez, I totally lost. I was waiting for the iphone 4 but I dont when it gonna release in Canada. iphone 4 STOLEN today trying to backup on 3G but dont what doing

My iphone 4 was stolen today while out at the pool and out of sight for literally 10 minutes. There are no iphones anywhere at any of the att or apple stores here so am forced to order a new one and wait the 5-10 days. Luckily my dad still has his old 3G from when he upgraded to the 4. Question is, how do I get it to work? I restored his old phone and it gave me the option to choose my phone to backup on it, which I did. My photos and contacts are there and everything but it says no service...is there something else I am supposed to be doing?? Just bought the new iPhone4 but now have a huge issue I was not previously aware of. Why is it that even Apple has the notion that no one ever changes their email address? You must enter your email address to be able to log on and find out why the log in is not accepting your password or username. You are then told you will be notified at your registered email address WHICH I NO LONGER HAVE. Receiving emails at a defunct email address does no one any good.So, I signed up as a new account with apple but now my purchased items are locked away from me and do not show up as useable on my new MacBook Pro nor my new iPhone4.How can I resolve this painting myself into a corner issue?TIA,Ken Powerbook G4 Mac OS X (10.5.7) 2G RAM

iphone 3G w iOS4 stuck in Recovery Mode

Hi, I was in the process of updating my iphone software when my PC rebooted. I think it was doing an automatic Microsoft update. Anyway, my iphone is stuck in Recovery Mode. Any time I attach it to the computer it opens iTunes but comes up with the message iTunes has detected an iphone in recovery mode. syncing iphone after computer crash

My computer crashed a while back and when I was finally able to fix it, I lost everything in my iTunes. Luckily it was still on my iphone. When I plug my iphone in however, it wants to sync my iphone and install everything that is on itunes. Since there is nothing in itunes, what it wants to do is wipe my iphone clean. YouTube-cant log in anymore to see MyVideos or Subscriptions iphone 4

Yesterday : everything was fine with YouTube , I was able to login and see MyVideos and Subscriptions Today : cant login using the YouTube app , a pop up comes saying YouTube Not AvailableThings are normal using safari, I tried changing the old password with all lower case one, unlinking YouTube account with Google account, linking it back, and nothing seems to work, any ideas? Hi, a couple nights ago I updated to ios 4.0.2.I have 2 3g iPhones and after the update one was working. The other lost the wifi completely. Ive noticed some others having similar issues and have some reset recommendations which Ive tried.I seem to have something similar & completely different going on with my phone:1. No access points found in wifi settings2. Under general> network Internet Tethering circle just going round & round.3. 3G battery getting eaten alive iphone 3G

Thats right! My 3G battery is getting eaten alive. I upgraded to OS4 and the problems started. I then downgraded the OS to 3 from the method described on Lifehacker, but the problem is still there. The battery is fine when I use the brick as just a phone, but if I use any apps or safari I get about 30 minutes use. 4.0.2 update cancelling at 12 minutes before complete iphone 4

3G blue tooth use with Ford Sync after OS upgrade to 4.0.2 iphone 3G

I just upgraded to OS4.0.2 and have lost some of the functionality I had with my Ford Sync system with the previous OS. Specifically, now my phone book will not download to Sync so I cant call a contact by voice command through Sync as I did with previous SW.If I call the contact via the iphone, then I can talk using the Sync system and I can answer new calls or end a call, etc. I can call a number as long as I know the number, I just cannot call using the contact name in my phone book. The phone book will just not download and sync tells me my phone doesnt support that function. Is this another Apple improvement to get us to buy the iphone 4? Desktop PC iOS 4

Unexpected shut down via low battery not really low battery iphone 3G

Running version 3.1.3, take a picture with the camera, open safari, open a picture in a email, etc. sometimes the phone just shuts down. Battery will be 90%-100%, however immediately shows a low battery and will turn off. Hook up to either a wall charger or via computer USB and the battery returns to 90%-100%. Hard resets, restore, etc. all have no effect. Sent the phone in for a Battery replacement to apple, they returned the phone with out replacing the battery and indicated that the battery was fine and they could not duplicate the problem. Mobile.me Locate via iphone or iPad

My wife has an iphone and now an iPad. I have an iphone. We have Apple Mac computers and laptop.I can find my iphone, my wifes iphone and her iPad from our computer using mobile.me location.We cannot seem to find a way (when we are away) of finding my wifes iphone from my iphone (and vice versa) or finding the iPad from either iphone? Is this not possible?It could be that we are away from home with just iPad and iPhones and if we lose one it would be handy to use the other to find the lost device without having to wait until we travel home to get to our computer to locate one which might be hundreds of miles away by then? iMAC Mac OS X (10.5.8) MAC Book Pro Laptop

my phone periodically dies when it wants iphone 3G

hi i am having this strange and frustrating problem with my iphone 3G. When it feels like it (since 3 weeks ago), my phone just dies off and wont come back to life. the first time it died i really thought it was dead. It wont respond to pressing the sleep or home button in any way, fashion or form. what i normally do is hold sleep + home for minutes on end in hope it will come back. after a few days it would decide to resurrect itself, and then after a few more days it would decide to die off again. it has happened 6 times already and it has happened now. this was the longest i have had it not die off for a while (6 days). i have tried everything in google and other forums like charging it overnight for it to do a hard reset, trying to put in DFU mode, using wall charger instead, restart PC, this, that and the other. i tried to find the cause, but it dies off randomly. the first time i thought it was because i let the battery drain (because i did). but then it happened whilst browsing safari. the next time whilst charging and one time after i pressed lock. i think it has a brain of its own. anyone help? iphone 3G iOS 4

Transferring iphone Music to New Computer. Can it be done 3G

I recently had to reformat my computer due to complications with its performance. Of course doing this I lost all of my data including my 5gigs of music. However, I have most of these songs stored on my iphone but apparently I am unable to transfer them to my computer since they were not bought from the iTunes Store. If there is a way to do this without Jailbreaking or downloading some third-party software any help would be very much appreciated. I for some reason remember being able to do this with iPod though, so I dont see why I shouldnt be able to do it with my iphone. Perhaps I am overlooking something? Again, thanks for the help!

Purchased music lost during sync iphone 3G

Ok so I went to sync some new music I had bought on my iphone to my iTunes and when it was finished I disconnected the phone to listen to the music and my brand new music that I just bought today was gone.. if you cant tell Im extremely irritated. I lost about 15 songs that i had bought since i backed up and updated the software on my phone. I went to the iTunes store and looked at my Complete Albums or whatever that is because it said i had 15 and a lot of those albums had the songs i had just bought and lost! Rain Damage New Phone Backup iphone 3G

My phone was damaged by rain on Saturday. Orange are replacing it under my insurance agreement. Now about a month before my phone was damaged i upgraded the OS to OS4, which included a full backup to my HD.Ive been told that when my new phone arrives, my existing number will be the same. But will i be able to copy that previous backup to this new phone? Also since that backup, i have purchased 1 other app. Will i have lost that? iOS 4

Restore failed lost data HELP iphone 3G

I recently updated my 3G phone to OS4. Updating went fine but the phone would not restore. I had to abort and update and reset the phone as new. I lost all data since my last sync. I did however copy and have an old backup file from a previous month, before updating. Is there anyway to get data out of this backup file and put it back on my phone? Could I delete the backup in iTunes now and replace it with the file I had saved to an external drive, then backup so I can offload data somehow? Thanks in advance for any help. HP DV 6000 iOS 4

Blank pages show in safari thumbnail tabs iphone

When on safari one can hit the little icon in lower right of screen to see the (up to) 8 tabs (rendered as thumbnails) of all web pages recently visited.At times those thumbs are just blank white pages, although the title of the page is visible above the blank page (which allows for at least a navigation of the pages)I thought I detected a pattern to the problem, specifically if I had previous tabs open in safari (lets say the little number in lower right was 6) and I was now on another app,,, then went to multi-task tray and launched safari from there (as opposed to going back to the home page to launch) the thumbs came up blank.Seemed to be the pattern but then it happened even when going to safari from the home page (not the multi-task tray)Never saw that before update to iOS4.0.1Saw it on my 3GS after the software update and now happening on my iP4.Mentioned this on a previous post and someone thought the blank tabs/thumbs represented pages that had not loaded fully? Not sure that is the answer because they showed when loaded then went blank later. iphone wont turn on 3G

Alright guys,My iphone 3G broke a few months ago, so I ordered a new screen and tried installing it myself. I lost patience and so I bought a crappy phone to use in the meantime.I got really busy so I didnt finish installing the new LCD screen until last night. Im pretty sure everything is good to go with the screen, however, the iphone wont turn on now. I plugged it in to charge and it wont even sync up with iTunes or anything.Im wondering, does not using the iphone for a few months (obviously not charging it or anything) lead to the battery dying completely? I left it charging on the computer overnight and still no luck. I know it isnt just the screen not working because if it turned on, even without a working screen, it should sync up to iTunes.Do I have a dead battery? Are there any ways to jump start the iphone? Need help please iphone 3G

Hi Everyone,Im a bit frustrated right now. A couple days back I decided to downgrade from 4.0 to 3.13. No problems, things went smooth as silk, but being an idiot about this stuff, didnt know I was supposed to back up all my data, texts, pictures, and most importantly plants vs zombies saved games. Yep, I lost it all. Being the swift thinker that I am, I thought no big deal, I can just upgrade back to 4 and restore from all my saved data. Heres the challenge: Itunes on my win 7 rig no longer recognizes my 3g iphone. Made an appt to go to the local genius bar and of course the phone worked fine on their macs. The genius was nice enough to put 4 on my phone and send me out the door. As Im walking out the door, I go to the app store on my phone to see if I can just download all the apps Ive purchased directly on the phone. That didnt work, I was only able to get the Google mobile app. I get home and itunes still does not recognize my iphone. I do some digging and it appears there are some issues with my motherboard (P55, in a Dell XPS8000) and itunes. After dinking with things a few too many hours I finally decide to just use my old laptop to load up my now empty iphone. Itunes on the laptop recognizes the iphone and I authorize my computer for the store and think Ill have a couple hours to kill to download my apps. . . Ugh! Only one ap has downloaded, google mobile. My guess is I somehow wiped out the record of my other purchases even though they show in my purchase history in the app store. My pleas for help are: 1. Is there any possible way to get my pictures back that I had back in 3.1.3?2. Any way to get back my apps Ive already purchased. 3. Any success stories with P55 motherboards, Ive tried running itunes in compatible mode, making changes to regedit, opening in iphone explorer, pretty much all the steps that come up in a google search. Hurry with a new update, the last update has killed my phone, this update is complete garbage, PLEASE DONT ANYONE UPDATE YOUR PHONE, YOU WILL HAVE SO MANY PROBLEMS, I AM GOINGTO SWITCH PHONES AND PHONE CARRIES, I DONT EVEN HAVE ENOUGH TIME ON MY HANDS TO LIST ALL OF THE PROBLEMS WITH MY PHONE, YOU WILL BE SO SORRY IF YOU DOWNLOAD THIS UPDATE. HERE ARE SOME OF THE MANY PROBLEMS, PROBLEMS THAT I NEVER HAD BEFORE THE UPDATE: DROPED CALLS, HALF THE TIME NO SERVICE, INTERNETS JUST SHUTS OFF, CRASHES ALL THE TIME, INTERNET SLOWER THAN EVER ALONG WITH APPS, THE GIVES YOU A FEW NEW OPTIONS BUT A TON OF PROBLEMS, lost SIGNAL STRENGTH AND WIFI, HAVE PROBLEMS TURNING ON PHONE, EMAIL DOESNT WORK RIGHT, GPS IS NOW SUPER SLOW, PAYING $70/MONTH FOR JUST A TON OF PROBLEMS, THEIR TECH SUPPORT WHEN YOU CALL THEM DOESNT HAVE ANY ANSWERS TO GIVE YOU, CALLED SEVERAL OF TIMES CANT HELP, APPLE SHOULD BE PAYING ME $ 70 A MONTH, I AM NOW JUST WASTING MONEY, YOU WILL BE SO SORY IF YOU DOWNLOAD THIS, THE NEW FEATURES ARE NOT WORTH THE NIGHTMARE, MY PHONE HAS NEVER BEEN DROPED, I could easily list more problems but whats the use of wasting my time with this iphone 3g iOS 4

Visual voicemail indicator not indicating new messages iphone

Sometime around 7/22/10, I stopped getting notifications of new voicemail messages. I did not discover this until today, 8/9/10. AT&T wasnt much help, but a message from another forum said to try reset all settings. I did this and it got the indicator working again. Try settings>general>reset>reset all settings. I lost my wallpaper and I had to reset the voicemail password (which I didnt know, but learned it was my phone number without the area code). Send yourself a voicemail ahead of time so you know if this works. It should show up. Hope this helps! MacBook Core Duo Mac OS X (10.4.9)

ok this is somewhat annoying. I noticed a few days after i installed a few apps and was playing around with my 3G, whenever i enter a text field that needs password input (lock screen, installing apps,etc) the password character that used to be a little circle is this ugly annoying square shape!!!
