my iphone mic not working

Well after a fall from around 10cm high my mic stopped working. I could listen to all my ringtones, i can voice record but when comes to phone call i cant hear anything or be heared even if i use the loudspeaker. Also when a call is established the speaker option is enabled automatically. Replacing mic will work ? Anyone had similar problem?

4S-No sound from speaker no mic no vibration doesn't detect headphones iPhone 4

Hello, I just replaced my 4S's display, and after reassembly the iPhone powered on as normal, but - there is no sound, mic or vibration what so ever. It doesn't detect a headphone jack either. The mute button and volume buttons work just fine, volume control shows up but there is no vibrate or sound at all.  So this basically makes it useless as a phone ... Anyone know what could be causing the issue? I tightened the screws, tried reconnecting the cables and the speakers. Hoping this is not an issue with the audio IC. Definately not software related, tried full DFU restore, tried cleaning the dock connector and jack, the iPhone is NOT stuck in dock connector mode. TL;DR: No sound from any speaker, no vibrate what so ever, no mic, doesn't detect headphone jack. Anyone know what's wrong? Could it be a damaged Audio IC (don't really see how this can happen)? Broken flex cable?

about a month ago i took a bath with my iphone 5 and didnt realized it and when i came out of the water the screen was black and didnt work and after that i putted my iphone in rice for 3 days so it dryed out but when i tryed to boot it up nothing happend so now after that month i put my iphone on charging for about 12h and when i came back the iphone was really hot and i could hear the speaker when i plugged my iphone in and out but the screen was blue like the starting screen but without the apple logo and i cant fix it. i tryed to restore it and reboot it ovar and ovar again but nothing worked.      ! english may be bad !

Hey guys, I can play music and hear it just fine, with or without headphones. When I press on the keypad I can hear the noise it makes, I can hear calls with my headphones plugged in, or when the speaker option is on, however, unless this happens, I can't hear the person I am on the phone with. I've tried restarting, resetting, earasing all content, and restoring it with iTunes and that didn't work. I've tried cleaning the ports with a toothbrush, or pressing gently on the microphone and that didn't work.I've tried calling with the headphone on, and taking them off in the middle of the call and that didn't work either. I am currently outside of the US so I can't go to an Apple store, so I am wondering if any of you guys have been succesful at solving this problem. Headphones not registering when I plug them in iPhone 4S

Hi there, I have an iphone 4s and have a problem with my headphones. When I plug them in, the iphone doesnt register that they are there and plays through its own speaker rather than the headphones sometimes. I have tried with several headphones so I know it is the iphone. It works sometimes and doesnt work some other times. And when it does work, it sometimes  cuts off mid song and reverts to the iphone speaker. Has anyone else encountered this? Many thanks

Springboard Problem and Cannot Save SMS messages iPhone 5

My wife took her phone to the Apple store for a bad speaker and short battery life.  They replaced the speaker and ran diagnostics and determined that Springboard was bad.  They can reflash the phone, and she can restore content from the cloud, but will lose all her stored SMS messages.  She can do a full backup to our computer, but Apple said if she restores from that, the problem will return to Springboard. This was incredulous to me that Apple would mix data with programs and have this issue.  Another appointment at the Genius bar and I went with her.  Same story from Apple.  They even gave me an analogy that if you car has a problem caused by bad oil and you drain the oil and fix the problem, and then put the old oil back in, the problem returns.  I thought a more apt analogy is having to remove the radiator to fix your air conditioner, and putting the antifreeze back in the radiator after reaasembly.  It will NOT break the A/C again. I found some third party applications that may do what is needed for $20-$70.  The Apple store had their canned spiel on third party applications. Has anyone else experienced this problem and is there a workaround?  And is it believable that the world's largest technology company still writes their software this way?

IPhone 5 3 problems.

Hey guys Ive had my IPhone 5 since the day it came out, so now it had started to have its problems, and more than one. Ive got three:      - brightness turns down automatically to the point I cant see the screen and when I go back to settings the brightness bar is still up to to bright and I just have to touch it for it to come back to normal.          - When I call someone or when someone call me, the place where I should hear them talk back does not work, I have to hear them on the speaker.      - When I charge my phone the lightning connector doesnt have a good connection and cuts out of charging looks like its lose.  Has anyone had one of these problems, and how was it fixed? or when you gave it to Apple, how long did it take to be fixed? or did you get a new IPhone? Or feel free just to talk about what you think   Thanks guys!

iPhone 5 mic not working

The microphone receiver is not working on my iPhone 5.  I cannot be heard on the other line unless I put the phone on speaker.  I have cleaned the headphone port with compressed air and checked the moisture indicator and all is good.  I have also restored as new phone and still the problem exists.  The speakers still work just fine as well as the ringer.  I can still hear the person on the other line too, they just can't hear me.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

iPhone 5 battery life and speaker issues

Hey guys. Not sure if anyone else is having this issue but firstly. The battery life *****. And really *****. I let phone completely drain at least twice a month. Then fully charge it. Not a huge user but data I know eats it. We are talking literally within two hours of not using it and it will be down to 59%. Didn't expect this off a phone like this. iPhone 4S beats it hands down. Considering going back to it tbh.  speaker issues are terrible. Tried the music on full pause. Then exit. Then test but still nothing. Rang apple they say its not a fault but why would other people be reporting it.  iPad 4 users. Do you have issues with battery life too? And very slow charge and very quick drain. This is a joke. Nearly a Grands worth of kit and you feel like your using a Nokia 3310.  #annoyed!

My iPhone 5 frequently crackles and pops loudly during calls (while using speaker phone, as well as not using speaker phone.)  After being inspected by techs at the Genius Bar, my phone has been replaced twice; thus, I am currently on my third iPhone 5.  Incredibly, I am, yet again, experiencing the exact same issue. Short of getting my fourth iPhone, is anyone aware of a solution?

I have owned my iphone 5 from new for about 7 months. The speaker has now stopped working completely.  It started yesterday with the speaker sounding slightly distorted when on full volume. It then worked intermittently during a handsfree single call on loudspeaker. If you tapped the back of the phone lightly, it would work again for a few seconds then stop working again. Also if i blew slightly in the speaker holes it would also come on for a few seconds.  Earphones work ok.  It has now stopped working completely. I have reset (power and home button for ten seconds). I have backed up using iTunes and restored the phone and the speaker is still not working.  Booked into Genius Bar.

Used iPhone 4 in rain despite working has few concerning issues.

I was making a phone call yesterday and it had started to rain. I wouldn't call it a torrential downpour but it wasn't a light one. I didn't think much to it thinking the phone should be okay as it wasn't directly subjected to the rain. Towards the end of the phone call, the earpiece did start to crackle so I hung up. I am presuming the rain did the following: 1. The camera had moisture in it. I could see droplets of moisture inside the lens but that soon disappeared. The camera however remains locked in near focus and won't focus anything in the distance.2. The battery life has gone from decent to poor. 100% to 95% used to take a couple of hours on standby. Now it takes about 20 minutes.3. The phone itself emits a small popping/sizzling sound intermittently. It's hard to describe, but it sounds like a candle wick being put out by water. I put the phone itself to my ear and the sound is definitely coming from inside the phone, rather than the speaker and earpiece. The sound rarely happens when the phone is off, but happens often when the phone is on.4. I've had a few small shocks from the phone itself. My nearest Apple store is a while away so I'd appreciate any advice before making an appointment. Unfortunately my phone is older than a year so it's probably not covered by a warranty, however I'm only five months away from a new phone from my contract so I would like to keep the cost of sorting it out down to a minimum.

Hi Everyone, My iPhone 4, bought in France summer 2010 when it first released, isn't working properly. There are a few things that are very disturbing: - The speakers on the bottom (where the home-button is) doesn't work properly. If I play music, I hear sound coming out, but with creaks and all. - When I call someone, the receiver can't hear me, so the inner microphone doesn't work.- When the battery has still 11% left, it sometimes just dies suddenly. Does anyone recognize (one of) these problems?My plan is to go make an appointment with the Aplle Store and hopefully I can get an new iPhone for a certain amount of money, because I think it's a mistake in the system. Thank you!

When I make a call or answer a call and I bring my phone up to my ear, the screen doesn't turn off and during the call my ear will push random buttons on the screen like 'speaker' or it will end the call.

I have tried all different ways here my 2 month old Iphone 5 is not ringing and speaker is not working!

I can not hear music or hear ringing through it.When I turned to my carrier, in order that they will help me replace the malfunctioning speaker (device is still under the one year manufacturer's warranty) they told me that since this model is not sold in Israel, they can not fix it for me, and because we don't have an apple-store in Israel, I can't do nothing  I'd be happy if you could advise me what to do ( I want to use the manufacturer warranty that I deserve)  Thanks for the help Itay.s

So last night I was talking via speaker phone and suddenly noticed that the sound quality was horrible.  It was extremely grainy and scratchy sounding.  At first I thought it was just something with the call quality so I turned off the speaker and talked on the phone normally.  Later I got an e-mail and noticed that the tone that it made also sounded scratchy.  So I tried playing a song through the iPhone speaker and sure enough that was awful too.   I know it's the internal speaker because the music played fine through headphones.  Has anyone experienced this before?  If so, how did you go about fixing it? Thank you!

There seems to be a lot of people out there dropping their Iphone in the bath so I thought I would share my experience of fixing mine.Firstly if its in warranty consult your dealer - if this doesn't help try the following: A lot of people say stick it in bags of rice / silicon, etc but here is a quicker, more reliable way which is far less likely to contaminate one of the connectors. You do not need any special equipment. Make sure phone is off (If you can still see the screen) - hold sleep and Home for 5 seconds and tap the red off button that appearsPop your oven on a low heat ( less than 100C) for 5 minutes.Wrap your phone inside a sock, doubled over a couple of times so the phone is well protected.Turn oven offPop phone into oven for 30 minutes or longer preferably You could use a hairdryer but be very careful to keep it moving to avoid any localised heat spots that could damage components. If the phone got really soaked you might want to jump down to taking the phone apart - if it is still full of water powering up or charging could result in further damage Let the phone cool and try to power up, if nothing happens check for any signs of water vapour still in the phone and repeat if present. Otherwise try charging and powering up Still no success? this step requires a very small crosshead (some need a 5star) screwdriver, don't compromise and try and use a larger one, damaged screws will cause you even more expense. Very cheap on ebay. Unscrew the 2 small screws at the bottom next to the speaker, slide the back up and lift away. Unscrew the very small screw holding the battery connector in place and pry up the connector (lift the side nearest the edge first). Be careful not to lose the screw or the small metal bracket under the connector. Use the plastic tab sticking up half way along the battery to ease the battery out (usual there is a small amount of glue on them). This will reset the phone (you will not lose anything but the phone will hopeful power up when the battery is replaced). This is a good time to try the drying procedure again to ensure there is no more moisture present. Reconnect the battery screw everything back in place and press the wake button. If this has not succeeded you may need specialist help to test more components.Good luck ( and I cannot stress enough - keep the temperature low when drying)
