How to order message contcts iPhone

I ordered my "all contacts" under the phone icon for first name first. However when I send a message, the contact list is ordered last name first. How do I get both contact lists to be ordered the same, first name first?

Salve,ho appena ritirato un iphone 4 ricondizionato da un vs centro autorizzato e dopo appena di giorno ho riscontrato un grave problema durante l'utilizzo: durante quasi tutte le telefonate che faccio il mio interlocutore non riesce a sentire nulla (come se il mio microfono fosse impostato su muto), lo stesso problema è stato riscontrato con le cuffie originali apple e con il mio auricolare bluetooth della plantronics.Ho provato a ripristinare il telefono senza successo, dopo pochi minuti il problema si ripresenta. Ho provato ad usare anche altre applicazioni (es skype e registratore vocale) per verificare che non fosse un problema di hardware, infatti il microfono funziona perfettamente senza problemi.anche il controllo vocale funziona benissimo. riscontro questo problema solo effettuando e ricevendo chiamate.il problema è parecchio fastidioso visto che è quasi impossibile effettuare telefonate senza incorrere in spiacevoli interruzioni.avete altri clienti che hanno riscontrato questo problema?come mi devo comportare?

I requested for my iPhone 4 to be unlocked nearly 3 weeks ago and I still haven't recieved confirmation email to say it has been successful

My boyfriend upgraded to an iPhone 5 recently and decided to give me his old iPhone 4, but i'm on Vodafone and his iPhone is locked to Orange.  So he rang up Orange to request an unlock which cost £20 and the guy said it could take upto 28days (which seems a long time to unlock a phone) The guy at Orange said the reason for this is that the unlock has to be done by Apple (which makes sense) and so my iphone would go on a list and once it reaches the top of that list it will be done - (is this true?)  It's been 3 weeks and my boyfriend still hasn't recieved an email to say the unlock has been successful. I'm starting to get impatient as I didn't think it would actually take the full 4 weeks to process(i know it hasn't been 28 days yet...) - but it's looking like it will take that long at this rate... if it gets unlocked at all! I would also like to know if my iPhone 4 has been jailbroken in the past - will this prevent the phone being unlocked by apple?  Any help or advice would be great

iPhone 5 Battery drain when not using Wifi also gets hot.

Recently I have been experiencing problems with my iPhone 5, if I am away from a wifi connection I experience high battery drain & the phone will sometimes get hot.Generally I am in the office or at home & the phone will be connected to a wifi hotspot, however yesterday I was out of the office in meetings etc, I didn’t have access to any wifi so used 3G data, I was in London in areas with generally good 3G coverage.  The battery went from 100% to 0% in 9 hours with what I would call minimal usage as follows.4 minutes worth of calls.25 received emails5 sent emails9 photos taken1 hour streaming music via Bluetooth20 minutes reading from news stand5 minutes in the facebook app5 minutes using the Maps app2 minutes viewing London Tube Map app  This appears to be a problem with the data receiving part of the phone as when I have access to wifi the battery life is generally fine.  I have had iPhones for about 3 years & never had issues like this. Has anyone else experienced similar problems?

Hello, this is my first time on a forum like this so I don't really know what to expect but basically the reason why I am here today is because of the fact that my iPhone's battery is excuse my french, dog s***. I'm 16 years old almost 17 and I haven't had any problems with my other iPhone's before (iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4, 4S) I charge it at 100% in the morning, so I leave it all night from 1% the previous night and then I get up and without even using it, it's at 95% already. Now the thing you're going to say is have you tried:  Turning off 3G/LTE - YESTurning off Wi-Fi - YESBluetooth - YESLocation Service's - YESPush Email - YESMessing with the brightness - YESRe-setting the phone several times (LOL) - YES  I honestly don't see why it is draining this much, I have like 10 apps and all of them are ones that don't send much data, nor recieve much. You know the usual Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc etc.  If someone could possibly help me I will be the happiest man alive!!! Thanks-Ed

my iphone 5 was today restored due to it getting buggy and as normal it was done with the latest ios 6.1.4. everything is fine except i can no longer use bluetooth. i can turn it on in settings however it never sees or can be seen by other devices/pc/mac/smartphones etc. any help would be greatly appreciated? thanks jason

vodafone issues iPhone 4S

Hi all,  i will list my problems and see what you all think,,,,, i have a iphone 4s on vodafone running 6.1.3 firmware, for the first 11/12mths i would say this phone was faultless ( taking around 200 calls a day), recently the phone refuses to make calls and send txt messages, it wont even connect to the internet using 3g, it has to have wirelesss connectivity for the browsers to work. i took it to the local vodafone shop and they insisted it was the sim card at fault, even though i did try it in my other phone (nokia E50-2), so i took the replacement sim anyway. checks already done:- i have taken my vodafone contract sim from the iphone and placed it in the nokia, it works fine sending and recieving both calls and txti have taken my vodafone PAYG sim out of the nokia and placed it in the iphone, it refused to work but worked fine in the nokiai have reset the network settings, i have deleted all apps from the iphone and done a full restore, but it still refuses to workit shows full signal strength all the time where i live, as does the nokia, if i try to call it from the nokia it tells me the phone is not available even though they are sat side by side with full signal, if i try to call the nokia it comes back called failed.i have tried to send a txt message to my own phone number only for it to come back failed, yet in the nokia it sends no problem.vodafone refuse to admit it is a problem with there network and it is an iphone issue, the phone is now 13mths old and out of warranty (typical), i requested the iphone be unlocked from vodafone to check other networks, this has now been done so i put a spare O2 sim in the iphone and it sends and recieves both calls and text with no issues, yet vodafone still say it is not a network problem!!!!!!! is anyone else having similar problems to mine??? or is it something wrong with the phone???? i personnaly think when the phone was updated to the 6.1.3 firmware it has a problem with vodafone, plese tell me what you think, i am going crazy with this phone, cant believe its not kissed the wall or other hard surface yet.

Full correct steps should be like this : 1) Select a favourite song in iTunes program to be made into Ringtone...-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------2) "Get Info" on that song name and make any 0:30 seconds portion of that song.... (specify "Start" & "Stop" time - under "Options" – to any 30-seconds duration and click OK)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------3) Right-click or Ctrl-Click again on same song name and select "Create AAC Version" to create an .m4a file...(when done iTunes will create a Chime)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------4) to locate the created .m4a file easily, Ctrl-Click again on same song name and select "Show in Finder" from the pop-up list...(iTunes will automatically point the folder location of the original .mp3 & the newly created .m4a files... keep this window open for later...)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------5) change the .m4a file to .m4r as suggested... (rename to whatever you like but you must change the extension to .m4r)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------6) At this point, the m4r(original) file isn't a "Ringtone" file yet... which we'll need to change now...) (check under "Get Info" > "Kind" :  it's still "Apple MPEG-4 Audio")...1st by dragging that newly changed .m4r(ori) file to somewhere out of that same default folder it was created by iTunes... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------{ this is where most confusions occur, take note here, it gets rather complicated }-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------7) Once it's outside of that folder, Double Click the m4r(ori) file and iTunes will play...(u can stop it immediately...) this is just to let iTunes automatically convert that m4r(ori) file into a new duplicate & places it inside the initial default folder where the original .mp3 file is kept... we kept the window open previously, remember? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------8) Locate that duplicate .m4r(new & true) file, in that same .mp3 folder and now DUPLICATE-Drag (press Option while dragging to get the "+" sign) it to the "TONES" folder in your default apple folder structure. (check under "Get Info", this .m4r(new) File's "Kind" should be "Ringtone")//to get to that "TONES" Folder : First Locate your iTunes default Music Folder in your Mac --> usually it's in your Default "MUSIC" folder --> Navigate to "iTunes Media"  --> Navigate to "Tones". !! Keep this window open to make the transfer manually !!-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------9) Once your duplicate is placed inside the "Tones" folder, double-click on that duplicate .m4r(true) file and let iTunes play, it should automatically place that ringtone file into the "Ringtone" sidebar list in the iTunes program... (check program to see) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------Somehow u needed both duplicates : 1 – inside the default initial .mp3 folder & 1 – inside the Tones Folder which we Duplicate+Drag into... and both must be "Ringtone" – Kind... for this to work.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------10) There you go. Now you can Sync / Delete / Add the whole Ringtone contents to your iPhone as you wish. //Don't forget to set SYNC ON under the iphone  "Tones" tab in your iTunes - iPhone screen... and click big SYNC button at the bottom of iTunes program & wait for the magic.( Finally you can check inside your iPhone "Sounds" settings and hopefully if all steps done correctly, the bloodycomplicatedringtone selection will be there. In november my friend purchased me a black iphone 5.  It was awesome with No problems.  Recently however, I have been experiencing a very short battery life.  After a day of light usage sometimes my battery will dip below 5 percent.  Now, I already tried disableing bluetooth, turning off data and wifi when not being used, and even turned down the brightness to half way.  Because the iphone is certainly defected, when I exchange the iphone is there a possibility to swap it out with one of a different color, as the black one devolops scratches along the champhered edge like crazy, also ios 7 looks wayyyyyy better with the white iphone, it just blends into the device itself.  Anyways, thanks for any responses

Why would keyboard clicks be muted iPhone

Recently my phone randomly seems to mute itself.  I am not sure if it is because of a bluetooth connection although I have turned bluetooth off.  Sometimes that seems to fix the problem but not always.

Okkay so ever since a few weeks ago my iPhone 5 stopped connecting to new WIFI networks... I didn't really see it as a big deal until my friends were all connected to the same wifi and my iPhone couldn't (Correct password and EVERYTHING).. and right now i'm at my dad's house and his iphone 5 is connected to the WIFI but mine isn't.. idk *** is going on but i'm starting to become ****** with apple.. I've seen hundreds of post on the internet about this and it seems like nothing is being done about it..?! DATA ISN'T UNLIMMITTED UNDER MY PLAN!!!!! I should NOT be responsible for this bill when I could be fine connected to wifi networks........ And now it's to the points where my device is having me relog into any social netowrks that i try logging into (Twitter.. Vine.. etc.).. WHY?!!? AND NOW I can't even connect to blue tooth devices that all my friends on iPhone 4's are connected too... *** IS THE PROBLE AND WHY IS THERE NO ANSWER TO THIS?!?!?! I've searched countless hours on the internet for a fix to this but can't seem to find an answer... if anyone could help it'd be much appreciated..

Can i transmit audio from my iphone to opther iphones? Is there an App that does this? Or does iPhone ONLY transmit and not capable of receiving bluetooth?  The goal is to have multiple iphones listening to my bluetooth audio output. How can this be done?

my WiFi button is grayed out and the bluetooth icon is in a constant state of looking for a connection. this has been going on about a month and a half. I have done hard and soft resets and even removed and restored the software. No luck. what should I do?

Notes crashes iphone 5 ios6

My notes application crashes when I press the icon. I have been able to find notes using the search. I can add notes. Sometimes I can arrow left and right through my notes, but sometimes it will crash. I cannot see the list of notes at all. I might Have a thousand notes (at least many hundreds).   I have closed the phone, reset the phone, openned about twenty apps and x-xd them closed, backed up, updated to the latest version of ios, and nothing helps this situation.  I deleted a bunch of notes to the left and right of the note that crashes.  I have copied notes as new notes then deleted the original note.  This has become a Microsoft windows product for me - lots of work for me and very little productivity from the iPhone in the case of this very simple Apple app.   DOES APPLE READ AND RESPOND TO THESE DISCUSSIONS? Thanks to anyone who can help.

Unsynch Facebook Contacts from iPhone 5 iOS 6.1.4

So, I have tried the following steps (found here and elsewhere on the web) to get my Facebook contacts out of my phone: Settings > Facebook > Allow these Apps to Use Your Account: Calendar and Contacts to OFF (clicked "Update all Contacts")Result: No change; all Facebook friends in contactsSettings > iCloud > Contacts: set slider to OFFResult: Asked if I wanted to keep the contacts from iCloud on phone. Choosing Yes resulted in no change to contacts. Choosing No deleted all of my contacts from phone (and gave me a heart attack)Facebook App > Log OutResult: No change to contacts.Settings > Facebook > Delete Account (to delete account off iPhone only).Result: Took contacts list down to 50 (some random Facebook contacts a few others) and wiped out nearly all manually entered contacts (gave me heart attack # 2).Settings > Facebook > Add Account. Signed back up; was told that my contacts and calendar would be synched and that I could turn that off (using the same method as #1 above).Result: Back where I began with Facebook friends in my contact list. I am at my wit's end with this issue. I don't know what to do since I've tried everything I've found on the Internet. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Can t find my audibook in itunes. iPhone 3G

I just bought an audibook off of itunes.  It was my first purchase from the itunes store.  I paid for it,  downloaded it, synced it ot my iphone.  The itunes library clearly showed the audiobook listed on my phone when I plug it into my computer.  However, I can't figure out how to actually play the book on the phone.  When I go to "audiobooks" on my itunes app is just brings up the store.  When I got to "more > purchased" I get a list of music, movies, and tv shows which all ready as empty.  When I refind the audibook in the store it lists it as "downloaded" but doesn't have anything on the page about actually accessing it.

I am just heading of to the O2 shop with wife's  phone. Symptoms. wifi on-off is greyed out. bluetooth spinner of doom permanently.  Reset from settings > doesn't work.Restore >likewiseRestore to Factory > doesn't workHard reset doesn't work My iPhone 4 sits happily on 6.0 with no problems. I am not going anywhere near the upgrade that iTunes keeps nagging me about.

bluetooth Quit Working with Volkswagon Jetta iPhone 4S

I have a 2010 VW Jetta and had been using the bluetooth phone with no issues (iPhone is 4S and car bluetooth is built into the rear view mirror assembly and not the steering wheel). I've updated iOS 6.1.3 and now my phone no longer pairs with the car's bluetooth system). I've erased/forgot any bluetooth devices from the car's system but that doesn't seem to help. Any help/suggestions/etc on what I need to do to get a feature that worked just fine working again... ?  Since the only variable to my knowledge that has changed is the iPhone operating system I tend to believe the issue is on Apple's end...

My iphone 5 is losing connection with bluetooth in 2013 ford f-150 SYNC system.  It is then necessary to reset the truck radio and add phone again before bluetooth works.  It usually will work for a couple days before losing connectivity.  Ford dealership says it it is a bug in the phone ??

Is there a way to get better GPS-Signals to the iPhone? bluetooth is an option, but it consumes a lot of power. So I prefer an external GPS-Antenna. But where do I connect the ext. antenna? Dock connector? If you are a developer and you've got an idea ... pls tell me ...

My iPhone 4 bluetooth is not working. I have recently bought two iPhone 4 from a colleague. Both have bluetooth problems as mentioned below.  Here's what I did and found:1. I turned on bluetooth on my iPhone 42. Then I turned on bluetooth on my nexus 73. Nexus 7 found my iphone 4, then I started pairing my nexus 7 with my iPhone 4.4. Pairing successful. iPhone 4 showed Nexus 7 listed.5. But when selected Nexus 7 in the list, within a few seconds, message popped up "Nexus 7 is not supported". The same situation occured when I tried the above steps with my sonyerricson W580 phone. But my Nexus 7 and sonyerricson W580 can easily communicate over bluetooth. Can anyone suggest me what to do in order to make the bluetooth on my iPhone 4 to work?

My Iphone 5 speaker just quit in the middle of a phone call.  checked the mute switch, settings, and did soft reset no luck.  Then did a new phone software load, and put my songs and photos back on, still no sound.  Some folks said it was 6.1.4 software problem, hold out for fix, Verizon is sending new phone....dont want to give up the phone i bought for refurb if its just software.  Some forums say its defective sound module in Iphone 5, can be replaced with new sound module.  how do i know and what should i do?

hi, i have bought a mac.  when i sync my iPhone i have deleted some of the apps from the app list on the sync screen, but they still show on my iPhone? to remove them from my iphone i have to delete them manually on the phone? why is this?

Audio IssueFeature in Video Playback iPhone 5

I have just picked up on a 'thing' with the video playback on the iPhone 5. It seems that dynamic range compression and/or EQ is applied to the soundtrack of videos. I first noticed it when I was trying to watch a few concert films and noticed that not only was the sound horrendous but during the high volume scenes, it was distorting. I have tested the same movies on an iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPad which don't seem to have this problem/feature. Has anyone else noticed it? And even better yet, figured out a way to get rid of it?   Additional thoughts: I have also noticed that when you play music through the loudspeaker, some form of dynamic range compression is also applied to the sound. Personally I think it sounds terrible but I can understand why Apple would have done this. However, it doesn't affect the headphone output signal, thank goodness, SO, I speculate that it could be a bug that when a video is played, the OS isn't recognising that the headphones are no longer a loudspeaker and not bypassing the audio signal, therefore applying the compression to the sound.  Playing the video audio through bluetooth headphones removes the compression and distortion of the sound track in videos, and that would have been the solution, but now videos no longer play in sync with audio through bluetooth on the iPhone 5. (Grr.) Last thing, the new EQ 'Late Night' that adds compression and EQs the sound in the Music app and sounds possibly like the effect that is being applied to video audio output.

On febraury I bought an Iphone 4S but now the wifi doesn't work, this is a common problem in the Iphone, but now I am in Argentina and in my country there isn't any place where repair my telephone. I called to Apple to tech support and they told me they could not assist me because they only assist people from Mexico and Canada, and that I had to speak to an authorized service center in Argentina, so I went to the place they told me, in that place I say they can not sorting the problem, that the only solution is to travel to USA to change.Because they tell me that if in legal terms of the warranty states that if Apple so you can make changes determined through some mail? Why not give me that option? I have the right to use my iPhone in its 100%, the truth that without wifi and bluetooth is how to use it by 50%.Any recommendations?

iPhone 5-HELP

iPhone battery is on 41% after 1 hour and 31 minutes usage, and 1 hour and 29 minutes standby. I've followed all of the battery saving tips, my wifi, bluetooth, mail, siri, push notifications are off. My brightness is down, it's not a hardware problem as its been tested.

iphone 4 won't charge

Greetings, My i4 developed yet another problem in the series (previous issues concerned home button, power button and camera module)... Two nights ago, I had the phone plugged in the PC, in order to make backup, syncronize with iTunes, change music etc etc... It took around an hour, maybe hour and a half, and I was surprised to see that the battery (which was not even close to flat) reached only about 70%. Shortly after I unplugged the phone, the battery dropped to 50%. That night I forgot to plug it in again, and I spent the whole day yesterday saving the battery. Later that day, I got home and plugged it in immediately. 2 hours later, the battery was still on 14%. I left it "charging" for the whole night, just to find out that this morning, it was still on 14%. While checking emails and stuff, the indicator "jumped" to 16%, but then dropped to 10%. Now it shows 3% eventhough it's still connected to the computer. There is a battery indicator on the lock screen, which means that it doesn't refuse the charger, but somehow the battery refuses to be charged. The indicator in the upper right corner shows "plug in" symbol, as if it has been charged, not a "thunder" as if it's still charging. I tried cleaning both the dock connector and the cable, I tried different cables, I tried charging from the wall socket and from various PCs, but nothing seems to work. Everything else seems fine though. Battery dead and needs replacing, or is it something more "fruttier"? Thank you!

URGENT HELP iPhone 4S

Last night i went on my phone to make a phone call but all my contacts were somehow deleted i tried turning off my iphone and then turning it on but still had the same problem. I dont know what to do i had icloud but never used the backup for it infact i had not signed in to it till the next day. I somehow managed to get a few of my contacts back through my messages. There were many important numbers in there. To top it off the most important thing to me was all my information on my calender list like my appointments, and many other important events. I do not know hot to retreive it if anyone could please help me it would be greatly appreciated. Thank-you

 Hello! I live in Russia and love Apple very much, have many different products and never had any problems with them. And now I decided to buy a new Iphone 5 and wasn't lucky. I bought it on 3.05.2013 in normal shop, then turned out that wi-fi and bluetooth are not working and the phone eats battery very fast. Shop doesn't want take it back, official services don't want to repair it for free, because it was made for USA. I really don't know what to do:( To buy android? I did got a update, witch were ment to improve the loudspeaker functions.After installing that, there were no more sound in internal speaker!I have to use loadspeaker, headset or bluetooth headset, to hear when talking anybody on phone.There was no problem with this before the update!!How can I get the Iphone to work normal again?

iPhone 4S bluetooth issue

The thing is that i've been trying to use my iPhone 4S as master transmiter of GPS signals and accelerometer data for my ipad mini to use an app called air navigation pro, the deal is that when i try to pair my devices vía bluetooth they just seem not to recognize each other, the only way i can get them to work is by using personal hotspot or share internet option vía bluetooth, but thats the only way.I've heard theres a bug related to that, that our friends in cupertino just ignored when they updated IOS, Anyone can help me?, does Anyone has Any info about this, or maybe a solution.By the way since this may be due to my IOS instaled in my iPhone my devices are:-Ipad mini wifi only IOS 6.1.3-iPhone 4s IOS 6.1.3Thanks in advance for Any info proportioned

way of sharing my Macbook Pro's Wifi connection to iPhone 4 Not Using iPhone as hotspot for laptop other way around

So a nasty smash destroyed both Front & Back of my iPhone 4, and since having them replaced the Wifi signal has been really weak. I have seen other posts about screen replacement having to be done by going through the antenna, so something could be missing, or done incorrectly during the screen repair. Will definately be taking it back to the shop and finding out if It was put back together properly.  In the meantime I was wondering if it is possible to share my Macbook Pro's Wifi (always full signal in my house) directly to my iPhone either using USB cable or through bluetooth. It's not been too much of a problem but it would be nice to use my iPhone in bedroom using the Macbooks good signal.  Note: The replacement front screen on iPhone has a small gap >1mm between the screen and centre metal casing on the left side just above the Silent/Loud Switch, which can be noticed by light leaking through the gap. The metal casing also still has a small dent between the volume down buttons and silent/loud switch, again nothing drastic 1mm maximum

HELP PLEASE! A purchased a iphone 4 GSM model. I have been trying to restore it (being the screen said to connect to itunes) but when I went through the restore process, itunes recongnized it, it went through what appeared as all but the last second of restoring when I got a " The iphone "iphone" could not be restored. An unknown error occured (-1)". I have a copy of the Updater log if there is something particular I need to look for, please throw me some bones. lol. The log does list:0: RamrodErrorDomain/3ec1: BBUpdater/2unable to convert ramrod error 1004 ThanksKIm

Brand New iPhone 5 Terrible Battery Life

I recently purchased an iPhone 5 (Monday, May 6th) and am convinced that the battery is defective. I attempted to get the phone replaced by AT&T since it is within their 14-day Return/Exchange policy, but of course they denied me based on it being a "technical" issue and therefore a problem I need to take up with Apple. Whatever that means.Background info: Left the house around 10:00 AM, battery fully charged at 100%Finished class at 12:00 PM, battery dropped to 53% (VERY minimal use, I was sitting through a lecture)Arrived at AT&T store at 12:15 PM, battery at 51%AT&T Rep turns off LTE, Wireless, Location Services, bluetooth and Auto BrightnessThe only apps that were opened/used were Text, Mail (fetch set to Manual) and SafariAT&T Rep says there's nothing he can do, but these changes should "help"Left AT&T 12:25 PM, hopped on bus, got home at 12:45 PM, battery drops to 43% (ZERO use)Call nearby Apple store at 12:50 PM to set up an appointment (Call length: 11 minutes), battery drops to 41%Call Customer Support at 1:30 PM to run remote battery diagnostic (Call length: 16 minutes), battery drops to 32%Apple Rep says the diagnostics looks normal...... Battery life: 30%Usage: 2 hours 26 minsStand by: 6 hours and 3 minutes This can't be right. Is anyone experiencing similar issues with their battery? Does the usage information above look normal? Any suggestions and/or tips on what I can do? I'm so upset with both Apple & AT&T right now. The AT&T rep even suggested that I "turn off cellular data" to save the battery life. REALLY? I feel like I basically just purchased an iPod touch for $240!

Iphone 5 bluetooth issue

I recently upgraded from 4s to 5. I'm experiencing issues with the bluetooth transmission/receive range. When I'm running with the iphone on my arm my wireless headset quite often drops the connection. Same problem when I'm using bluetooth with My car. I can't have the phone in My pocket while driving, I must put it between My seats, otherwhise the connection drops.  Had no problem like this with My 4 or 4s, so I convinced it's something with iPhone 5. Anyone else? Is it a hardware or software issue?
