Whenever I try to sync my iphone 4S, iOS 6.1.3, to my new Asus computer with windows 8, I get a message saying "iTunes cannot read the contents of this iphone. Go to the Summary tab and restore." So I go to Summary and hit restore, and it doesn't seem do anything, other than want to download new iphone software, which always takes about 4 hours, and I inevitably end up with some sort of error that prevents it from loading.  I've removed and reinstalled iTunes, and restarted my phone, but it doesn't seem to work.  I would like to be able to sync to my computer, but it doesn't seem to work.  Before I was on an Asus computer with windows 7 and it worked fine, and now I can't get it to work at all.  I have the same Internet Security provider as before, so I don't think that's it.   Can anyone figure out what I should do? S Not Valid iphone

I recently wiped my iphone and when I went through the process to set up, right after selecting a Wi-Fi network, I got a SIM Not Valid screen like the below. I am on AT&T and my phone has never been unlocked, hacked or jailbroken. I've replaced 3 phones as everytime I tried to reinstall software this happened. I got a new sim. No change. Tested my sim in another phone - it work. Tested working SIM in my iphone - SIM Not Valid message still. Does anyone have an idea why this happens after a wipe and resetting the phone?

iphone Autoplay doesn t start automatically

When I plug my iphone 4s up to my windows 7 64bit PC It is detected by the PC and iTunes, but it does not start AutoPlay. I have checked all the basics, making sure autoplay is set to "ask me everytime" the device is plugged up. yet it does not do this. I have reset to defaults on the phone as well as on my PC. AutoPlay still does not come up. This is mainlty an inconvience but still, it SHOULD just work and it doesnt. So any suggestions besides what I've already tried would be awesome. I need to print an iMessage conversation going back almost 2mos. HELP iphone 3G

I have an iphone 4S. My software and iTunes versions are up to date. My computer runs windows XP (not so up to date, I know). Here's my dilemma: I'm in the middle of a legal battle (details don't really matter). Point is, I need the ENTIRE conversation to use as evidence in court. Phones are not allowed in the courtroom so I'm left with no other option except to figure out how to print them. I have called my service provider to try and get the transcripts. They told me to call the Apple Help Center. I called Apple, they told me to talk to my service provider. The typical run around. I finally spoke with someone who somewhat sounded like they knew what they were doing, but their only suggestion for me was to download an app that would allow me to export the messages off of my phone onto my computer. Unfortunately, he could not suggest any app inparticular (go figure).  Here's my other problem: because I'm in the middle of a legal battle, I'm a little short on funds. Does anyone know of any programs for download that are similar to BackupTrans that I can use for free? OR, there is an app in the AppStore called "SMS Export" made by Fabrizio Farenga for $5.99... Can anyone tell me if this app is worth the 6 bucks to purchase (does it actually work?)? I desparately need this conversation to use in court. Someone please give me some ideas!

IOS 7 beta iphone 5

Hi, I wanted to try it but I got an error since yesturday:  The iphone cannot be restored at this time because the iphone software update server could not be contacted or is temporary unavailable, I'm on windows. I have extracted the dmg with PowerISO and all went well except the error that I get all the time.I do not have any jailbreak or anything bad on phone. Can anyone please tell me how to fix this? Thank you,Claudiu

Notes crashes iphone 5 ios6

My notes application crashes when I press the icon. I have been able to find notes using the search. I can add notes. Sometimes I can arrow left and right through my notes, but sometimes it will crash. I cannot see the list of notes at all. I might Have a thousand notes (at least many hundreds).   I have closed the phone, reset the phone, openned about twenty apps and x-xd them closed, backed up, updated to the latest version of ios, and nothing helps this situation.  I deleted a bunch of notes to the left and right of the note that crashes.  I have copied notes as new notes then deleted the original note.  This has become a Microsoft windows product for me - lots of work for me and very little productivity from the iphone in the case of this very simple Apple app.   DOES APPLE READ AND RESPOND TO THESE DISCUSSIONS? Thanks to anyone who can help.

Water damaged iphone stuck in recovery mode need to bypass it so I don't lose my pics iphone 5

To begin with my phone was underwater about 65'. Miraculously from what I can tell the only thing broken is the screen, which is entirely black, and the phone seems to be in recovery mode. I've tried every program I can find online to bypass recovery mode for both windows and Mac but no luck. I don't care about the phone I just want my honeymoon pictures off of it. Any suggestions at all would be appreciated .Thanks

I recently purchased and downloaded Yesterday as well as Injustice and have not been able to install either app due to an "unknown error occurred (0xE000004)". I've downloaded both apps, and they're in my library, however, when I try to sinc my ipad 4, running IOS 6.1.3, I get an error message advising "The app was not installed on the ipad because an unknown error occurred (0xE000004).I have since downloaded Topia World Builder and it synced/installed fine. I have trid reseting my ipad, tried to unistall and reinstall the app, have updated to the latest itunes 11.0.3.02, have tried restoring my PC to a month or so ago when I didn't have these issues, but I keep getting this error message? Anyone know how to fix this? I've never had any issues like this before and I've had iphones, ipods and ipads for years?

Facebook keeps asking me to sign on with an old/obsolete user ID (email address)..  My facebook account settings have the correct email address.This has only happened since all the updates.  Should delete the app from my phone and reinstall?

Remote App won t stay connected to Itunes iphone 3G

PC - windows 7Itunes 11.0.2.26IPhone 5 fully updatedIPhone 4 fully updatedIpad 2 fully updated. The Remote App will not stay connected to Itunes.  When I close and reopen itunes, Itunes shows up and works fine with all iphones/ipad.  However, after a period of time the connection is lost and it will not reconnect until I restart Itunes.  I have an apple TV3 that works flawlessly with the Remote App.  The Remote App worked fine with Itunes until I recently installed a new Netgear R6300 router.  I have worked through all of the suggested troubleshooting items here: support.apple.com/kb/TS1741 with no success.  Logically, it would appear that the problem is coming from the router.  I have engaged the netgear customer service who thus far has not come up with a solution.  Does anyone have any suggestions?   I use the remote app to play itunes from PC on my airplay enable home stereo and I am greatly frustrated and saddened that this no longer works properly.  It's probably my favorite function of all my apple profucts. Thank you for reading this!

Hello folks,  I am in a bit of a pickle! Short of you know what (have to keep the censors off me), is there any possibly way to remote view an iDevice screen on a windows based computer? I am a eLearning/instructional designer and I have been tasked with creating eLearning courses on how to use our iDevice apps. But my dilemma is, how the heck do I capture the screens? Yes, I know about power/home but that isn't nearly practical, especially for capturing motion. I thought I could do it with the remarkable Teamviewer app but after speaking with their development team, it turns out that this has been an outstanding request to Apple. For quite some time, they have been requesting their customers ask Apple via feature request. It seems obvious that their must be a way because I have seen Apple iphone instructional videos in the past. iphone 5 charging but not syncing with Itunes

Have searched thru the posts and have done practically everything I could find and suggusted (inlcuding upgrading, a full reinstall of itunes and a simple reset of iphone (vs a restore which I cannot do as phone doesnt show in devices)  . .but still no go . .  This is also happening with my wife's iphone 5 so this is not personal to my phone. Please Help!!

I have lost my built in apps and do not know how to reinstall them on my phone.  The Safari and App Store icons are gone.  I can no longer surf the net on my phone and the little "microphone" key has also disappeared when I send text messages etc.  I now have to actually type the message instead of speaking into my phone.  Siri has also vanished.  Any advice?

I'm restoring my iphone 4S on iTunes 11.0 and it's stuck on restoring firmware

My phone won't send picture messages to any phone other than an iphone and when I googled it, the solution was to restore it.So I did. Downloading the software itself took nearly 3 hours, but whatever. My phone restarted, but now the bar is stuck at ~3/4 done and it's on "restoring firmware". It's been this way for over 20min. I use iTunes 11.0 and windows 7.Can anyone help me out? Would it be bad to reboot my computer at this stage?

iphone 4s stuck in recovery mode. Error code-1 .

I recently bought my iphone 4s from a guy (who bought it from someone else). He sold it to me pretty cheap because when he bought it, one of his friends tried to restore it for him and it got stuck in recovery mode. I have no idea if the phone has ever been "tampered with" or not. He didn't seem to know much about it (said it was his first smartphone) and I thought I might have a chance of fixing it. I'm starting to lose faith in that...I've tried almost everything I can find. I know there are tricks for this all over the internet and I've tried almost all of them. TinyUmbrella does nothing, Redsn0w won't even install on my computer (frustrating!). Trying to restore from iTunes is useless. It gets to about 90% then comes up with error code (-1) and gives up. I've tried that route probably 20 times with no change. I know I could take it into Apple and they could look at it, but I have no information on the phone itself. I cannot get the serial number. Does anyone have any suggestions at all? I'll try anything that doesn't require me taking it to Apple and getting charged more than I paid for the phone to fix it....I run windows 7. Thanks so much!

My iphone wont turn on after updating

My iphone 4G was updating to the latest i.OS software on itunes (on my windows computer). As usual, my phone had to restart. It turned off, but as it was turning on (when the screen just shows that silver apple logo) an error message came up on itunes saying that it couldnt update the software (I forgot to get the error number). But my phone is stuck with that silver apple logo on it. My computer tells me to restore my phone, which I tried, but everytime I do that, itunes says "extracting software" and then it says "preparing to restore" then it comes up with an error message (number 2009). I have tried restarting my computer. My phone is stuck like this. What should I do? Please help!

I have iphone 5 and try to sync it with my computer (windows 7 Max.). I have already installed ITunes and verified my computer in AppStore. But anyway I have problems with syncing applications. For example, I've downloaded Translator and tried to install it to iphone. I've clicked "Sync" in window "Programs", but it goes only up to the third step from four and fails. In window rights it is shown, that this program is already installed, but when I turn off my iphone from computer, I check and can see, that programs were not installed.My computer is also already verified, so that I can connect it with iphone. In common settings on iphone I have already turned on restrictions so that I can install applications. Could you tell me what should I do? I hope that someone had the same problem.

iphone 5 barely charges doesn't sync

Hey all, I have an iphone 5, obviously less than a year old, and am having a really strange problem. Two days ago, I was able to charge my phone, sync it, everything like it was normal.  Yesterday, it decided it won't charge.  When the phone is dead, and I plug it in it has the normal charging screen and will get to 5% like usual.  But then, there is no charging battery, and my phone charges SUPER slow.  For example, yesterday I plugged in my phone at 3:50pm with 1%, and when I unplugged it (never used it while charging) it was 9:15pm and 34%.  Continuing to charge it from then has resulted it up to 50% now.  When it's plugged into my computer (windows 7 Professional), I get a notification that says the USB device has malfunctioned.  So I know from this and the very slight charging that it shouldn't be the cord, there is still communication between the two.   I haven't updated my phone to the latest settings (it's on 6.0.2) and I'm struggling to try to update it now.  I also don't want to Reset all Settings due to some of my photos and videos that I need to save and I don't want those deleted.   What do I do?  How do I go about fixing this situation?  It really shouldn't be a battery since it's a decently new phone.  It's been handled great and there is no damage to it and no drops.  Help!

iphone apps not opening-have tried all usual fixes

A few days ago I got my iphone unlocked from my provider (Telstra) as I am about to travel and wanted to put a country specific sim in it. Since then no non-Apple apps have worked.I have tried (many times) to :- 1. restore from a previous backup (plus multiple syncs) and using different backups2. delete an app and reinstall it3. download a new free app (and when that didn't work I deleted it and retried installing it)4. sign in and out of the app store on the iphone5. sign in and out of the app store on my iMac6. de-authorise and re-authorise my iMac7. wipe the iphone clean and start with a fresh install8. And reset the device too many times. Nothing I have found on any site has worked. I thought the wipe the phone clean would have done it but it hasn't.I have wasted about 20 hours trying to get this thing working again. If I wasn't going on vacation tomorrow I would be at my provider getting them to fix their mess but I can't. Can anyone help? My i-phone 4s has WIFI greyed out since installing iOS 6 i called APPLE australia and they told me i was 83 days out of warranty and i have to pay 250. this was on 24th of april man on phone then told me i might have to jailbreak

the man on the phone told me to jailbreak my iphone so i could get iOS 5 back.. but by jailbreaking a phone you lose the warranty anyway... considering this is apple's fault (iOS 6 has ruined my 4s capability to connect to wifi) ( and my girlfriend has as 4s on iOS 5 and that still connects fine ) i think they should be doing more i am a long time apple customer but i think this has made me want to swap back to being a windows user and maybe getting the samsung or HTC

windows 7 crash Bluescreen when connecting iphone 5 personal Hotspot

Hi every body!  Recently i have noticed that when i want to connect my iphone 5 personal hotspot to my laptop, the moment i plug in the USB cable while the Hotspot is already running on my phone, immidiatly windows crashes. with a bluescreen error. I switched off the hotspot and then connect to my laptop nothing happens and every thing seems normal, but turning on the hotspot is a problem. every time i need to use my personal hotspot i have to reboot my laptop and while its rebooting i connect the USB cable in order to use my personal Hotspot while its ON on the phone. Please Help!

We have an unlocked iphone 5, numbers were brought into the device from windows live. Incoming calls from international numbers will show only the incoming caller id, but not the name, even though they are in he address book. We tried to add the "+" to beginning of the number already.

iphone won't charge-new battery

Recently my iphone 4 stopped accepting charge.  I tried two wall chargers as well as my docking station, and none of them cause the battery to gain any charge.  Thinking it was the battery (which was 2+ years old), I ordered a replacement however after installing the new battery the symptom remains, I still can't get the phone to gain any charge.   Has anyone had experience with this issue, and are there other things I can try to fix this?  My next attempt will likely be a fresh reinstall of the OS. -Josh

windows 7 Laptop and iphone 4S

I have a laptop with windows 7 with current version of ITunes 11.0.2.26 and have the iphone 4S with the current iOS 6.1.3  Itunes is seeing my iphone, but the laptop is not seeing it properly.  Once the iphone is connected it will charge and connect to ITunes, but windows doesn't show the device as having the proper driver.  In "Hardware" setting of the laptop, the iphone doesn't show up so I can not make the iphone to show up in My Computer as a hard drive device.  My reason to get this to work is to remove the videos from my phone.  I have tried to use ICloud to transfer to other devices and download, but it won't accept videos just my computers.  I need assistance to get the iphone to show up as a hard drive, but as previously mentioned the problem lays with the laptop not having the proper driver.  I have done the following corrective measures: Uninstall and reinstalled ITunesI have held the powere and home button on the iphone while being connected to the laptop.I have looked into registry correction, but the incorrect text is not in the registry.   Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to lose these videos because non compatibility issues. If this is going to be on going occurrence I will have to give up using Apple products. Thank you.

App Store Apple ID issues iphone 3G

Hi everyone, Today I tried to use my TuneIn radio app. It wouldn't connect so I thought I'd delete and reinstall as I'd been experiencing buffering issues as well in the last few days. I deleted the app and went into the App Store to redownload it. The App Store won't load. It just has the loading message and the little loading symbol. I went on various forums, I've done a hard reset, turned phone off and on again, closed the app down on the open apps dock on the phone, I've reset my network connections etc. Also, I'm on the latest version of the iOS software 6.1.3. The last thing I tried was to sign my Apple ID out of the iTunes and App Stores and attempt to sign in again...  Now I can't sign in using my Apple ID. It says that it can't connect to the iTunes store. FFS!  Has anyone had this problem before? I frequently have issues where the update screen on the App Store either takes forever to load or doesn't but this is the whole app and everything Apple related not working. Thanks for your replies
