When I sync to the computer I am losing phone numbers of contacts. Now neither my Outlook nor the phone have a number, only the name of the contact is shown. Hi, after searching the internet for a solution, i hope one of you guys can help.Well, when i start Remote on my iphone itunes detects the Device, and im able to enter the code in itunes. But when im trying to connect to my library, my iphone just wont do it. I tried to turn off my Firewall, but still the same problem. Hi, i got a new laptop few weeks ago. Recently i copied all my music and files from my old HDD to my laptop. I have to mention that everything worked perfectly fine on my old Computer.Well, yesterday i restored my iphone so i would be able to sync it with my new computer, and this also worked perfectly fine..But i cant drag & drop my music to my iphone...i have to make an playlist and sync this with my iphone. iphone battery dies when connected to Mac 3G

I have an iphone 3G and it has decreasing battery charge time, but I can live with that.Recently, when I connect the iphone to my Mac to sync the phone the battery drains very quickly. Its very odd.If I charge the iphone on the wall then it charges normally.I tried different cables and different USB ports but the results are the same. hey all,i have a problem with charging iphone battery,i´ve had the phone for 8months now with no problems at all,yesterday i used it as a modem for connecting to the internet and it worked just fine but the battery died so quick and now it wont charge at alli used both charge connector and USB drive in the computer - nothing works, i already tried resseting it several times - didnt work either, i also tried plugging in a different cable - thta didnt help either so its basically turned into a brick, i noticed tho when i try to restart it there´s a couple wierd lines on my display but then it doesnt turn on or anything, it goes back to a black screen with battery picture and one red line indicating i need to charge it...i tried to charge it overnight but the red line on the battery pic doesnt move or anything, there´s no sign of it charging at all and it doesnt even want to sync with the computer, i dont know what else to try please help someonethankyouMessage was edited by: LailaGerard iphone OS 3.1.3

Hi im a first time poster and need help, now im not that good with itunes on the computer but i plugged my phone in the other day for the new download and something went wrong and it needed to restore the phone~~heres where my problems start!!!Firstly my husband and i have different login accounts on itunes but payment always comes from mine however its only his apps that show on the screen, no matter who is logged in???? so on the back up all my apps were lost and his were put back on the phone! (any solutions!)My most major concern though is that i bought some songs in itunes and a ringtone but before they were transfered to the computer it started this backup so i have none of the purchases on my phone or computer BUT when i go to repurchase them (not that i want to pay again) it says you have already purchased this item do you want to buy again?~~~ if it knows i bought it where is it?????I did continue to buy, following some advice on another thread about being told no charge but it went through and as far as im aware it has charged me again!!Please help(also there are in total 2 iphones and 3 ipods linked to my account!) Hello everyone, Im having a problem syncing my iphone 3g with itunes to restore it. I received an iphone 3g 16gb from a friend because he didnt want to try to fix it. He told me it broke after he dropped it. Boots up to the apple logo and just stays there, sometimes spinning, sometimes not.So I started reading around the net trying to find ways to fix it. Ive tried hard resetting (home and wake/sleep same time for 10 secs) and that didnt help. Ive tried hooking it up to an itunes with the most recent update and restoring from there. The problem is, my laptop doesnt detect the iphone at all. I have a VAIO with VISTA Business and it is not detecting the phone at all when I plug it in, doesnt show up in device manager or give any indication that the iphone is plugged in other than when I plug it in, the phone boots up to the apple. Ive tried plugging in the phone and going into recovery mode from there and I can bring up the screen that shows itunes and the usb cable but nothing shows up in itunes. Ive tried getting into DFU mode, but my laptop is still not detecting it.Im running out of ideas so I thought Id post on the web. Has anybody run into this problem before? My computer died just recently. It will not boot up. I just bought a new computer and I authorize my account in itunes. Is there anyway to de-authorize through itunes my dead computer? I know we could authorize up to 5 computers and I still have 3 more to go. I hope it will never come to this but what if I run into some bad luck and my next 4 computers dies with the authorization still intact with them. I was just wondering if there is a way. iphone back up takes too long 3G

When I sync my iphone 3G (8GB) with itunes on my computer, the back-up part takes hours! I have restored the phone to its factory settings and this seems to have fixed the problem, but only temporarily - after 2 or 3 back-ups that took 5-10mins (acceptable!), the back-ups are again taking a few hours to complete. My question is does anyone know any apps that could be causing the back-up to be so slow? or any ideas as to what else may be causing the problems and how to fix? 3G 8GB iphone OS 3.1.3

Ive had my iphone 3G for roughly 8 months now. Previously, Ive always used it with a Winodws laptop with no problems.Ive repaired my desktop now, and, wish to use my iPhonw ith thast, as there is more music available, and, more space for movies.I am running Vista again on the Desktop, but, Windows always flashes up the The USB Device is umregognised or has malfunctioned box.I reconnect it to teh laptop, and, no problems.Ive reinstaslled itunes twice after upgrading it to the most recent version. Rebooted the PC twice, and done just abou teverything I can think of. itunes sync results in PC freeze on same song s iphone 3G

Hello,When I sync my music to my iphone via itunes, my computer will freeze when attempting to sync specific songs. This problem is repeatable, the computer always freezes with certain songs. I can tell itunes to only sync checked off songs, and I can uncheck those specific songs, and it will sync fine. Problem is I dont know why certain songs are becoming a problem when they were fine in the past. My songs are stored on a partition on my hard drive other than the main partition. I have heard that a large quantity of songs on a partition can cause problems. Could this be the cause? Is it just corrupt songs? They play fine in itunes on my PC. I used to sync my iphone to my daughters macbook. I just got a new imac and started to sync to it since this is now my main computer. First it says my phone is synced with another photo library or folder and do I want to sync with my library and replace all existing photos and albums on the phone with those from existing library. Right now I hit no. Then it says my phone is synced with another user account and do I want to sync this phone with the info from this user account instead. My phone wasnt answering calls or dialing them, so I tried to turn my phone off and back on again. It turned off just fine, but I tried to turn it back on, and now it is stuck on the black screen with the white apple. Hello,I went to bed last night with my iphone 3g about 75% charged. When i woke up this morning to check the time on my iphone the screen would not turn on. I plugged it in to charge it and got no response. I then plugged it into my computer and i can see my iphone under devices and it will sync however i still can not get the phone to turn on.Once i click on my iphone under devices i can click on a tab (info, ringtones...) but when i go to click on another tab i get the wheel of death. Could this be a virus? I updated my iphone a week ago and have not downloaded any apps or emails recently. I havent dropped my phone or got it wet at all. Any suggestions would be great. Hello Everyone,I recently backed up my iphone with itunes and proceeded to restore the iphone to its factory setting. When I tried to restore from backup, I keep receiving the error message (-27). I cant seem to find an answer in the forum about this but Im trying to restore my iphone 3G to a previous date (March 5, 2010). When I go into itunes to restore it, I find that instead of my March 5th backup, Im only given the option of the March 8th backup.Ive found the March 5th backup in the MobileSync folder. Help me! Somebody please <grin>!I had to get a replacement phone from the Apple Store due to my battery life dwindling. Anyway, the Genius told me to plug the refurb unit into my Macbook and wait for the prompt restore from backup or something along those lines. Well, I plug my phone in, and I never get a prompt saying restore from backup. So, I plod along and after the phone is done synching, I unplug & notice none of my paid apps are on the refurb phone. My itunes account shows all my receipts, but none are transferred to the phone. Same with my photos, they would not transfer to the refurb phone. On the refurb phone I tried a trick: went to the App Store & tried to download an app I already add thinking I would get the message you have alreday downloaded this app, would you like to download it again? This is strange... my iphone has recently started acting up.1. It wont sync. It isnt even recognised by itunes or iPhoto.2. It seems to charge but isnt displaying its charging. That is, the battery doesnt show the lightning bolt or the plug, but if I leave it plugged in over night it seems full in the morning.3. Problems restoring back-up to new iphone 3G

This morning I had my faulty 16G iphone 3G replaced by Apple. I performed a back-up via itunes before the exchange.I restored the back-up to the new phone. All applications appeared but the content within the applications is missing. For example; I have installed an app called My Eyes Only for private data (credit cards, identity cards etc). After restoring the back-up all the card data is missing and the program has been reset. How many duds before I get an iphone works 3G

Im either the unluckiest person on this planet or theres just something so very wrong!Is there such a thing as using the Internet too much on an iphone? Accessing and using apps too much?I have had 2 iPhones, original and replacement. My second one now I havent even had for a month. Ive had 2 SIM cards, original and replacement. My second one now I havent even had for 2 weeks. Im having issues with my Internet service as some of you who may have helped me in my previous posts know. I can have full 3G coverage and full area coverage yet its impossible to get anything that requires the Internet to load or work. Getting constant error loading messages that Im not connected to the Internet, when I definitely am connected to the Internet. Turning the phone off then on doesnt work. Connecting iphone up to charge or sync doesnt work. The Internet is very intermittent and just works whenever it wants to. Have been in contact with my carrier several times, they tell me each time I have very strong and great coverage in my area and shouldnt be having these problems. Ive done nothing differnt with both the replacement iphone or SIM card than I did with my original of both. Im only left to wonder is there any bad apps that can cause issues? I dont even have that many apps on my iphone and have plenty of space free. I dont visit any dodgy websites, or sites that would be likely to have viruses etc. Im at the stage now where I am seriously thinking of handing back the iphone and cancelling my service because Im paying a large amount per month for something Im having continuing issues with and its just not acceptable anymore. iphone 3G iphone OS 3.1.3

New 3GS iphone-unable to send SMSTXT messages

I recently purchased a 16GB 3GS iphone and am somewhat disappointed with the product. I am now stuck with it, so must persist !My main issue, is the sudden and inexplicable loss of ability to send text messages ! The send icon no longer illuminates (as it is supposed to) and I cannot respond to, or send new text messages. This function worked as advertised for about five days prior to becoming unserviceable.I have updated the firmware/software via itunes and have constantly rebooted the phone to no effect. Ive also withdrawn and re-inserted the SIM card.Nothing works !!My other major issue with this phone, is the degraded battery life !! I have turned off Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G and dimmed the display. I barely use the phone for voice conversations and usually only send 10-15 SMS/TXT per day. Ive just recently had a problem with my iphone which has really angered me and i do not know what i have done wrong, so if someone could help me that would be great.About 15 mins ago i went to sync my iphone with itunes on my computer, after trying to sync my apps i realised all of them had dissapered but about 3, and i cannot find them anywhere. This is a real problem because i know ii can re-download them again if i have too. This just began happening yesterday. Turned on my iphone and click on any icon such as Weather, and click the Home button it doesnt go back to main page. Holding it for awhile, does nothingeither. If I wanted to make a call, I had to completely reboot. It is stuck there now.To troubleshoot, I have rebooted several times. itunes recognizes my iphoneand installed the lastest updates. yesterday I was using my iphone 3g 16gb and dropped it from a height of about 30 inches. There is no external damage but the iphone just has a plain white screen. I tried to make a call to it efter i dropped it and the phone recieved it but in a very fuzzy tone but i could not answer it due to the screen. I now cannot even make a call to it, connect it to itunes or even get it to respond in any way. I am covered under a limited warranty until July. What should i do? Hey Forum!The other day I dropped my iphone 3G from say just above a meter into the floor. The iphone went completely black and I couldnt start it anymore. When all my hope was lost I tried to plug it into the charger, and the little white apple on the black screen appeared. I thought that the problem was solved and everything, but there was one catch... the phone never went to the actual phone-up-and-running step. So, Ive tried a couple of things, restoring it and putting it in DFU mode, but with no further success. One thing on the other hand is that I manage to get the connect to itunes sign on the phone, but Im not sure that helps. Restoring Images from Backup iphone 3G

I went to the Apple Store today because my iphone has been having problems, the battery has been draining way too quick. The guy in the store did diagnosis on it and said it was a problem with my software and said he had to reinstall it like it was a new iphone. When he was done and I got home I realized I did not have my photos from the phone backed up anywhere, other then in the iphone backup that itunes runs. Can anyone tell me how I can restore these photos PLEASE? I bought a used iphone that already has music on it. I would like to add my music from my desktop PC to the phone, but when I try to sync music with itunes, it tells me that all existing songs and playlists on the iphone will be replaced with songs and playlists from your itunes library. I would rather not loose the existing songs. If I try File/Transfer purchases from iphone, it tells me the songs can not be transfered to your itunes library, and to authorize this computer for items purchased. I have already authorized the computer, and it when I try again, it tells me This computer is already authorized How can I add my songs to the existing songs? iphone OS 3.1.2

My old hard drive crashed.I now have a brand new system.I want to re-sync my iphone so I can continue to add music.When I re-sync, it warns that it will overwrite existing files. Does that mean it will erase the playlists/music/pictures, etc. on my phone? Apple ID not really working. iphone 3G

Heya, I have a problem with my Apple ID. When Im going to download free games from Appstore, they ask me to fill in all the information on Billing information, in which they send me to that page, and I fill in all thats needed. When I finally click on Submit, a red text appears telling me to type my Apple ID and password, go to Billing information, and fill in. Theyre basically telling me to do exactly what Im doing. So Im not getting any further. Does someone else have this problem aswell, or am I the first one? And can someone please tell me how to make it right? Windows XP Windows XP

two days ago , i make a stupid thing my iphone 3g becomes slower so i go to itunes and restored my iphone and the backup notification didnot appear so i restored without making any backup and when restoring has finished i realized the problem that everything is deleted and i have no backupand my library is on my computer in canada and now i am in egypt and i am back to canada afer 4 months please anyone help me how cvan i make restore to an older date through windows or anything iphone 3g 8g iphone OS 3.0.1
