Really hot iPhone iPhone 5
I just bought an iPhone 5 this past Friday for my first smartphone with Verizon, and I have been pretty happy with it so far, though I haven't been using it too heavily. Today, I had it with me all day long, and it seemed like the more I used it, it got pretty hot. Even hot to the point where I couldn't hold it in my hand in an air conditioned room. When this started to happen, I noticed a small spot in the upper right hand corner of the screen that turned yellow, almost like a sunspot. Seeing that, I turned it off for a bit, then turned it back on, and it was still there. I then didn't touch it for awhile, let it cool down, and when it did, the spot disappeared. So I brought it back to vErizon where i brought it, and by that time it colled off and the spot gone, so they couldn't help me, but they did say to bring it to the Apple store and they can plug it in to see how hot it has been in the past. Is there any way that I can look at this myself rather than driving the distance to go to one, because there's not one incredibly close to me. Also, has anyone heard about this spot before? I'm worried about the heat output of these thigns because when my Otterbox comes in the mail, i'm worried about that heating up then shutting itself down, because my ipod does that from time to time in it's Defender. Thoughts? Thanks

International texting charges iPhone
My friend is on a class trip to Germany. He has been texting me on his ipod, through wifi, with a texting app called text free. I have an iPhone with unlimited texting. We have not been texting through iMessage, just SMS, but he is sending them from his ipod. Will I be charged gobs of money for "international texting" or is it part of my data plan since he is using wifi? HELP!

At times when I'm sending a text message my touchscreen is unresponsive. My phone is barely 6 months old and it's extremely frustrating. Is anyone else experiencing this problem should I return the phone as its still under warranty? Regards Cindy

iPhone won't turn back on
Hi, so last week my phone suddenly turnt off. An hour later I could turn it back on, but then the next day the exact same problem and I couldn't turn it on. About 20 hours later and 5 programs I had fixed it. Then now, its 'died' on me again. Firstly, I have 100% battery. Connecting to my docking system turns it on but brings up the set up page (connect to iTunes on first use) It isn't recognised when plugged into the wall, I've used threee different wires and different wall adapters. iTunes can't restore it as half way through my phone cuts out and then iTunes can't find it. I don't touch my phone whilst connected so it's an internal issue there. I have tried other progams and they don't recognise my iPhone either. Could it be the battery? Should I replace it? Or could it just be loose? It's 2 years old, so yeah I need a new phone. But I currently can't afford to replace it, so I need as much help into getting this one working for now! Ha Ha Also, it's the iPhone 4 and it isn't water damaged.

iPhone 4S Multitouch doest work properly while in charge
it is just recently when i noticed that my iPhone 4S doest play so nice with muti touch especially to pinch to zoom on either pictures, ibooks, and webpages,,, when I do multitouch,, the screen just go wild and the images shakes, and worst, the screen doest respond totally in multitouch,, i have no problem in one finger navigations like tap to zoom etc,, it is just the multitouch while in charge.... I have no problem when the phone is not charging it runs smoothly... what could be the problem?? also I notices that after i juiced up the battery a while (after 45mins) the problem on the multitouch seems to disappear, but when you reconnect it again it persist... is there anyone experienced the same? and what would be the solution... apple refuses to accept my complaint because when i brought it to apple store it behaves normally even while in charge,, im using the supplied charger...

I started with one iPhone. Then an ipod was added. Then another ipod. And now 2 more iPhones. The phones are all under an A T & T family plan. When setting them up I used the same Apple ID so we would all be able to get the same apps. I'm not sure if this is correct. It is causing problems because any apps that are added to one device it automatically goes to all the other devices. And calendar events are popping up on other devices. Also whenever a device is plugged in to the computer to charge or update, they all say katie's phone which is the original device. How do I get iTunes to recognize each individual device? Any help would be appreciated.

I am planning on buying an unlocked iPhone 5 with T-Mobile Nano S . I have few questions.
I was planning on buying a 32gb unlocked iPhone 5 with the T-Mobile Nano Sim. I was going to activate the Sim with T-Mobile's prepaid $30 unltd text/data with 100 minutes plan. I've read some stories online where people were only able to use the Sim with T-Mobile's post-paid plans. Will the Sim that comes included work with prepaid and post-paid plans? Also, assuming that it does work with prepaid, what steps would I need to go through to activate the iPhone? Assuming that it doesn't, would cutting down a prepaid Micro Sim from T-Mobile to Nano Sim size work normally? Thank you in advance!

I have an Iphone 5, I dont use Siri very often but tried to use it the other day and it does not respond, I have read other threads - tried resetting, backing up, tried everything that was suggest and still no luck. I know its not the wifi as my son has ipod and siri works on this without any problems. Iphone 5 wifi drops every time I stream BT Home Hub router
Ok this is the second iPhone 5 I've had and I'm having the same issue as the one I've just replaced, the phone is dropping the wifi connection whenever anything is streaming, i.e. YouTube, NetFllix, Podcsts etc... Apple support said it may be my router but every other device in the house is fine, iPad 2, ipod touch my wifes iPhone 4 and my Macbook. My question is could it be an incopatability issue with my BT Home Hub 2 router and iPhone 5? I've tried all of the troubleshooting suggested by apple support but the issue continues. I've also tried other possibilities from this and other forums and nothing seems to fix the issue. I'm opening a new thread because of the significance of the router which I think my be the problem but have no idea to be honest. I wished I'd kept my old iphone 4 it was solid and the battery life on this new phone is just shocking! Any help or ideas would be appreciated cheers

The sleep/wake button on my 16GB iPhone 5 only functions if pressed on the left side of the button. A replacement will definately be needed but I would like to upgrade to at least the 32gb model. Is Apple only able to replace devices with the exact model or is it possible to upgrade the replacements? Thanks!

My i4S touch screen has spots where it does not work. It makes it difficult to use an app or even type words out. Is this a software problem? Or is it in the mechanics of the phone? Last night I downloaded UVZIQ on my Jailbroken IPHONE 4S from Cydia and it asked me to Reboot the device.So I rebooted it and it turned on and lockscreen appeared but when I touched my passcode it wont touch and the home and power button stopped working.It then suddenly started turning on and off.What should I do now?
No S Card Installed on iphone 5
My iphone5 has been randomly giving me a "No SIM Card Installed" message occasionally over the past 2 days. Usually it goes away if I touch the screen but the last time I noticed there was a "No SIM" message where the Sprint bars should be before I hit the home button. After that it worked fine. This is troubling because my first 5 had the same problem the day after I got it. Apple replaced it after trying other things like changing out the SIM Card. They decided it had a defective card reader. And this phone is only a month or 2 old, the replacement phone messed up its sleep button after about 8 months. Is this a problem that I don't need to worry about or a sign of imminent failure? I can't get to the Apple Store this week and I'm taking a trip on Wednesday and really need my phone. Thanks!
How much will it cost to repair smashed back of my iPhone 4
Okay, so today I leant over to pick up my ruler which I'd dropped and my iPhone slipped out of my pocket. Ironically, I'd put it in the inside pocket so it wouldn't slip out, and I've had it for 6 months and have been very careful with it until today. Needless to say I am absolutely gutted about this, and am hoping to replace the back of it. Looking online, some people claim that if I took it to an Apple store, they would either replace it for free or I would have to pay £29, however I'm not sure whether Apple have changed their policy about free first time repairs since the release of the iPhone 5/4S. I'm willing to pay because it was my own fault, but I wanted to know how much it would be before waltzing into an Apple store. One other thing, would I have to tell my Mum? Because she recently told off my younger sister for smashing the screen of her ipod and used me as an example of being careful, and I know she'd be devastated by this too. (Not to mention how much she'd freak out about it!) I don't want to replace the back myself with cheaper parts from eBay because I know it'll damage my warranty if I do (I'm not sure whether smashing the screen comes under the warranty, I don't think it will.).

The iPhone 4 may not have a fast enough processor for your game, or may have too many apps running. Try double clicking hte home button, touch and hold an app along the bottom edge until they all start to shake and a red circle with a minus sign appers on the corner of each. touch each red circle to dismiss all of those apps. Then do a reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears and it restarts. Ignore the red slider if that appears. Now try starting your game again and see if it works better.
tips on bringing water damaged iPhone 5 screen back to life
Recently spilt a drink on my iPhone 5 and it seems as though the liquid has found it's way into my screen. It has left a dark blotchy deposit of liquid behind my screen the touch screen rarely senses my finger even in the parts without the dark blotches. I have tried leaving it in rice and blow drying it but it has only had a minimal impact. Does anyone have a suggestions of how to fix it?

HI PEOPLE, i have the following problem, i bought the iPhone 5 white 32 gb , 4 monts ago, the problem started this week, my touch screen dont respond somethimes, but everything else works, like the home button, volume keys, etc. the solution is lock and unlock to get it working again, but in question of minutes starts failing, i did a restore 3 times and a DFU restore just in case, im really worried because i live in argentina,i went to North America for the winter,and i cant go back to EE.UU to get a replacement, please help , for what i think its not a hardware problem, because it works really well, when it works,but i dont know.

iPhone turning off rebooting while charging iPhone 4S
Hi everyone. I actually have a few issues with my iPhone and I have tried various things to fix these problems. Yes, I have connected to iTunes through my computer and have download and restored it twice in as many days. Ok, the first one is the touch screen is unresponsive and/or behaves erratically, like it has to think about what it has to do. Secondly, when it is connected to my computer or either one of my chargers, the phone keeps shutting down and rebooting about 15 or so minutes, and the battery percentage level meter doesn't change either. All this started happening at the same time. I was running a battery boost type app which I have since deleted but still no luck, so am I guessing right if its all battery related? Any help, thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated as like many others here, our phones are our life.

My lock button broken. iPhone 4
My iPhone 4 lock/sleep button has been fine for the past year and was working fine earlier this morning but this afternoon I was having trouble pressing it. The lock button is very hard to press on if I want to lock or turn my phone off now. I have no idea how this happened to my phone or if it can be fixed at an Apple store because I don't think that I have a warranty on my phone. At the moment I am using assistive touch to lock the phone but it is extremely unconvienent for me since I am constantly texting and on social networking sites which result in me constantly locking my phone.

Hey guys Ive had my IPhone 5 since the day it came out, so now it had started to have its problems, and more than one. Ive got three: - brightness turns down automatically to the point I cant see the screen and when I go back to settings the brightness bar is still up to to bright and I just have to touch it for it to come back to normal. - When I call someone or when someone call me, the place where I should hear them talk back does not work, I have to hear them on the speaker. - When I charge my phone the lightning connector doesnt have a good connection and cuts out of charging looks like its lose. Has anyone had one of these problems, and how was it fixed? or when you gave it to Apple, how long did it take to be fixed? or did you get a new IPhone? Or feel free just to talk about what you think Thanks guys!

I received an unlocked iPhone 4s as a christmas gift from the US. (I live in the Philippines.) When I got it it was still in its original plastic and sealed. I have recently had trouble with it (Updated ios, got the battery glitch, did the forum repairs, got the recovery mode errors, did the Apple Support KB tips, got error 40 and 1601, now just want to wipe the phone completely.) and am trying to see if a repair is possible. 1) Philippine service centers won't touch it, because it is not an "in-country" purchased phone, and is out of warranty. That's fine, I get that.2) When going to the self-help site, there is an "IMEI checker" when trying to submit a ticket. I punched in the IMEI found on the outside of the box, and it shows that the phone has been replaced.3) It's never been replaced. Ever. I had never even brought it in for repair in any store, in any country, until yesterday, to an accredited shop. My questions are:1) Is it possible that this is an error?2) What possible recourses are there for me for repair? I'd like to avoid sending the brick back to the States and then pay a kidney for a repair/replace. (Might as well get another phone!)

Tons of problems with iPhone 5
Just bought a brand new iPhone 5 from Rogers (Canada) in December. For the month that I've had it I've had MAJOR problems with this device. I've had no major problems with my iPhone 3G and iPhone 4S, by the way.- Incoming calls get randomly dropped. No "busy signal", the line simply drops dead for whoever tries to call me. It doesn't even alert me that someone tried to call me. I'll only find out later if that person attempts to call again. But what if it's an important call and the person doesn't try calling again? Then I'm screwed. I've tested this by calling my iPhone 5 from another cellphone by holding each phone in one hand. Out of 20 calls, at least 4-5 calls are dropped- touch screen irresponsive- Very weak signal (on my 3G and 4S the signal bar is usually completely full or one bar from full, on my iPhone 5 it's almost always only half full or less), the signal drops randomly outside (especially when I'm driving, the signal will just poof)I've already exchanged the phone TWICE. First time they exchanged it without question. Second time they told me it could be a carrier issue then told me to reset, restore, etc etc, then gave me a new one again. I'm on my third one, none of these problems are fixed.What are the chances I got 3 defective phones in a row? Seriously what is going on here? I've installed pretty much nothing on this phone except Facebook, Twitter, and Skype. Yes I've resetted and restore like N times, and I'm on latest firmware. What should I do? I don't even know if it's a Rogers problem or I've just had the worst luck in the world with 3 defective phones in a row, because none of the customer service people are able to tell me exactly what in the world is going on.

My iPhone will not send messages to my boyfriend and him only although i can receive his texts messages, i am on an irish network called 3 but he is on one called vodafone ( also irish) it is only his phone who cant receive my texts and i have tried everything that i have looked up on the internet icluding putting a number @ the end of his to get his orignal num and send to that i have trie turning my phone on and off i have tried group messages but none of this is working, as you can guess this is extremely frustrating and espicially so seen as i paid alot of money for this phone and expect it to actually work!!!!! im looking for good clear advice that someone who doesnt know all the technical bits of the phone to can understand and implement this to make my phone work please!!

Can explain why my iPhone has gone MAD
For the past two days while my phone is charging I have not been able to explain this and sound sane. If I touch the settings icon the camera will open up, if Safari is touched then settings opens, allowing no function be assigned to their icon and it's is really freagin weird. A few times I have tried to power off the phone but won't allow me to slide the power bar off. Holding down the power/homescreen button will restart the phone but right back to madness. Can anyone at all explain what the **** is going on with my phone?? I did notice it with a particular charger and close to 2 other laptops. Not sure, but with my boyfriend around I thought he was playing a joke on me since he is very computer literate but denies anything to do with this and from what I can tell by what I've read it could be the charger? I need to know cause it's not anything I wish to encounter again, If this had video I'd show you. possessed I swear!

Hi all, This is two questions rolled into one thread, really, but here goes. My friend Jacob has an iPhone 5 that seems to have been giving him trouble. The wifi is incredibly weak, the front camera doesn't work and the screen is slightly patchy. The phone is still under warranty, but I just wanted to check beforehand whether a visit to the genius bar would fix this? Secondly, he won't be around for the next two weeks to make that visit himself, so he's left the iPhone with me. My question is, would try still replace the phone if he isn't there? They don't require ID or anything, do they? Oh, and he restored the phone before he left, so now it's stuck in the activation screen... Will that be a problem?
Has else had trouble with iphone 5 touch screen
So this happened within the last week. I bought my iPhone 5 brand new, its been perfect up until i clicked on my email icon at the bottom and it opened the calendar that is at the top of the screen. Also, when typing in imessage it clicked edit by itself, as if i wanted to delete text messages. Also, if you press your finger down on one spot on the screen and don't move, the screen shakes until it randomly decides to click something. I just want to know if anyone else has had this problem, if so did you restore it or just take it to apple? Also, If i restart it or do a hard reset it works fine for a bit then randomly decides to go crazy. If someone could help me out,Thanks! Its driving me nuts.

iPhone 5 won't take charge
So a couple of weeks ago my iphone started acting up. *First the screen froze with the iCloud window open and it wouldn't respond. I couldn't text, call, or pretty much do anything. I fixed that by rebooting my phone by holding the home and power button for 12 seconds. Thanks to this community. **Then, the touch screen began to lag. I would try to unlock my phone or text, and the screen would take a couple of seconds before it would respond. Still does that but not as much. ***Next, the battery icon would not respond. I would plug it in to charge and it would show as charging, but the percentage number was not changing. It doesn't show if it would complete the full charge so I had to estimate the avarage time it used to take before it began to mess up. After I would unplug it, it would take a couple of hours to actually show the correct percentage of the battery. ****NOW - it won't charge at all. I am getting very frustrated and don't know how to fix this. I tried the wall charger, the car charger, my macbook, and even my iPad charger plug and none of them worked. It shows that it is plugged in just not charging. I took advantage of that and backed up my phone to my computer but now what do I do. It's not charging at all. My next problem is that I can't take it to an Apple Store cause the closest one is 4 hours away so I have to take it to the AT&T store. Is there anything else I can try before I take it to AT&T. Or what can I expect AT&T to do about it? Luckily, I bought my iphone less than a year ago so that would mean it's under warranty, correct? HELP!

Recently the iPhone 4 I have been using gets into a state that the screen becomes unresponsive to interactions. Restarting the device only allows operation for a few minutes until it becomes unresponsive. A factory reset also only allows operation for a few minutes until it locks up. The device randomly "unlocks" itself for use randomly during the day but shortly becomes inopperable once more. All the hardware buttons operate correctly even when the device is in this no-touch state. I had put off upgrading my iPhone 4 to the iOS6 and only gave in to it about a week ago when I thought that the trouble I was having with a select few apps was because of my outdated operating system. Now, I'm regretting it terribly and would either like to know how to revert back to iOS5 or fix this irritating as all **** and unproductive system. I had backed up my phone right before upgrading thinking that that way, I could just restore to it if I didn't like iOS6, but now I'm seeing that restoring to that point does not in fact restore firmware. Now I have a maps app that won't help me plan through public transit.An email app that will not update my inbox or any box even though it falslely says it checked and there was simply nothing new.Every other app I have crashes constantly.When I turn on the ipod/music function, there's an extended delay before the music will actually start playing.The shuffle function is messed up (if I'm playing a tracklist of 38 songs, it will only shuffle a few of them and just keep looping through those few tracks).etc etc My contract is almost up and I was hoping that all the negative stuff I had heard about iOS6 would have been resolved by now so that I could confidently by the next iPhone, but at this rate, I'll be ditching Apple's phone entirely.
iPhone 5 Geting hot and battery drain
Hi there, Just recently i have noticed that my iphone 5 is getting extremely hot to the touch just doing basic things or if it hasnt been used for a while. Also over these past few days my battery life has dropped dramatically, going from only needed to be charged over night once a day, to multiple times per day. I have owned the iphone since a few days after it came out, it is still in warrenty with repairs and service coverage and has a valid purchase date so will apple replace it for me?? Anyother advice?? This usage isnt right at all, is it?? i had to plug it in last night as it was down to 4% before i took the screen shot.
