Ive had this phone for over a year and its battery life hasnt really been that bad up until a few months ago, when I started noticing that I had to charge it every day for it to last throughout the next day.Over the past week or two, Ive noticed a further decrease of life throughout the day. I originally attributed it to elongated usage, but that isnt the case as of the last month or so. With this decreased life, the phone also takes a very very long time to charge. When it is plugged into the USB port in my trucks stereo, it doesnt charge and actually goes down in percentage if being used (if Im using it as an ipod, even with the screen off). Yes, the battery icon does change to a charging lightning bolt icon whenever it is plugged in.The phone will charge very slowly when plugged into a USB 2.0 outlet, and a very small amount faster when plugged into the wall. What should I do? I have apple care on it for another 6 months or so I think...but does that cover battery replacement? Do they even have 3G phones anymore? Would I have to buy another phone? iPhone 3G iOS 4
My girlfriend and I both have iPhone 3Gs. Last night she attempted to upgrade the software, which apparently prompted her to download the newest version of iTunes. After a couple of attempts, we finally got iTunes downloaded (presumably). The phone was plugged in and updating all night, but as of this morning will not operate because it requires iTunes 9.2 or greater. She has apparently tried to restore it to its previos OS just to get it to work to no avail. Any suggestions? Im no computer guru but my girlfriend can usually work through these issues. She is afraid that all her info is lost, including texts and voice memos of her late aunt. iPhone 3G iPhone OS 3.1.2
OK, here is my question. I just created some playlists in itunes and put them on my iphone 4. When i view the songs in the playlist on my phone it displays as follows (Song title in bold, and underneath the song title it displays the album name then a - and then artist name), just like this:Plug in BabyOrigin of Symmetry - MuseIs there a way to modify this so the artist name appears BEFORE the album name, like this:Plug in BabyMuse - Origin of SymmetryIf you can do this, please tell me how???? Thanks! IPhone 4 iOS 4 none
I never upgraded to 3.1.3, and from everything Im reading, I dont want to upgrade my 3G to iOS4.x. Problem is, a lot of the new apps I try to download warn that I need 3.1.3. I guess Im SOL? 20" iMac G5 (iSight) Mac OS X (10.4.11) - 17" iMac G4 FP - 2 iPods - iPhone 3g 16GB
i went to use my phone and noticed it was powered off. i plugged it in to charge it after a failed attempt to power on. the apple symbol appeared as tho it were powering on then turned itself off, only to go back to the apple screen seconds later. this process repeats never getting past the apple screen. ive tried resetting it,checking for water damage, and several chargers and no change. Anybody experience this besides me? iPhone OS 3.0.1
seriously? i shouldnt have to downgrade the operating system, or wait for weeks or months while you play with iphone 4 and the ipad and try to revamp the ipods of yesteryear. my phone freezes almost every time a call comes in, it wont load contacts and there is no menu while i am dialing a phone number. everything else works great but you see, the only thing is i have an iphone not an ipod touch so making calls is a pretty important thing here. my mom is whining about me not answering her calls because she has a 3gs and so does my step dad and they are begining to believe i am making it up about these issues....and its your stupid fault for not fixing the stupid issues.so please fix your operating system before i do the unthinkable and take my business to another carrier with an unlocked and jailbroken device. jerks! I just recently updated to iTunes 10 on my PC (Windows XP) and for some reason it will sync with my ipod Classic (120 GB) just fine like it always has before BUT when I try to sync my iPhone 3G (8GB) which has the current iOS 4.0.2, for some reason it will charge my iPhone but iTunes WILL NOT recognize it at all. Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes 10, Ive restarted my computer and my iPhone several times and nothing happens, any solutions?? iPhone 3G iOS 4 8GB
I have an iphone 3G running iOS4.01 and the latest version of iTunes.I dont know how it started. I was updating to iTunes 10 and I lost power to my computer (iPhone was not connected at the time). After a reboot, I uninstalled iTunes because it would no longer run (shutdown in middle of installation does that). Then I downloaded and installed iTunes 10.0.0.68. Everything seemed fine. I even bought a song or two. I wanted to sync that song to my iPhone so I connected it to my computer. I have set custom sounds in windows so that it lets me know when a device connects. The connect sound plays but the iPhone does not start to charge, nor does iTunes pop open, nor does windows explorer pop open with device options. Nothing happens. So I open up devices and it shows me the usual stuff but categorized under unknown is Apple Mobile Device USB or something like that with a warning explanation point ! next to it telling me that there is an error with it. So I right click and select troubleshoot. Cant fix problem. So I open up the (almost) never failing google and start searching. I find a mind-boggling amount of cases similar but usually with an ipod not an iPhone and those were solvable. I finally get to one that says that I should try resetting my iPhone and making connect in recovery mode. So I hold the power and home buttons down until the iPhone turns off. I open iTunes, hold down the home button and connect the iPhone. The Connect to iTunes screen appears... and nothing happens. Not immediately, not after 30 minutes. Nothing (except for the iPhone timing out and powering off again). So then I take a huge leap of faith and decide to actually use apples support page. After sorting through stuff designed for the mentally challenged who cannot locate the home button, I find http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1538 .This is exactly the problem I am having and yet following the instructions brings up problems That I havent seen before. So I follow the instructions like a good dog and locate the driver under Universal Serial Bus controllers and as per the instructions I uninstalled it. I then Scan for hardware changes. This is where the instructions start to seem non applicable. As it said it would, scanning for hardware changes found and installed drivers from the iPhone. But instead of installing the Apple Mobile Device driver, I now have a device under portable devices called Apple iPhone. This seemed fine but...iTunes still failed to recognize it. Windows seemed to think that the device is some sort of camera (applying a camera icon to it in the simple device manager). Windows explorer popped up this time and I can see all the photos on my iPhone and copy them and all but it still wants to think this is a camera. The iPhone charges now at least. The instructions continue and I try to follow. It says to search for updates to the Apple Mobile Device driver. Because this is not there and there seems to be no way of getting it there, I apply this to the Apple iPhone under Portable Devices. Everything seems to run smoothly until: Click the Browse button, then navigate to the following location: C:Program FilesCommon FilesAppleMobile Device SupportDrivers. it seems to tell me that if I am on a 64-bit edition of windows (as I am) I should search for it under C:Program Files (x86)Common FilesAppleMobile Device SupportDrivers. but in that location the drivers folder in that location doesnt exist (I dont have 32-bit iTunes installed I guess.) So I go to the C:Program FilesCommon FilesAppleMobile Device SupportDrivers directory instead and not only does the folder exist but the file is there too. The file usbaapl64 is there and the instructions seem to imply that I should use it if I am 64-bit windows. So I try to use it.BAM! Another problem: The folder you specified doesnt contain a compatible software driver for your device. If the folder contains a driver (which it does), make sure it is designed to work with Windows for x64-based systems.Seriously. What do I do now? Modified HP Pavillion Elite iOS 4 Windows 7 64 bit.
I got my iphone 4 water damaged. now i turned it off and left it buried in rice for a couple of days. the 2 water indicators are still white. my screen has liquid, specifically, coffee marks inside it. but the speakers are working, camera is working. the only problem im having is my home button is not working so great and my battery is just plain useless now. and whenever i try to sync my ipod(music, videos) it wont work. but i was able to sync my contacts and messages back.my question now is, would apple replace it under the warranty?or am i qualified for the OOW thing? since it is still working. im not sure if you have to have your phone completely dead due to water damage to be eligible. Hey! This is my first post. I have an iPhone 3G and recently it gets hot while charging. Eventually it stops charging and starts to loose the charge.Let me explain. Last night i plugged it in to my pc and left it to charge. I had 86% left. 2 Hours later I came back to check and it had dropped to 50% and it was very hot!Ive noticed that if I put it in airplane, it charges without overheating! So is this a software issue? Should doing a restore help? Please reply! Thanks! HP Pavilion DV6 Windows 7 ipod Classic 30GB, iPhone 3G, iPad, Nokia N900
Good Morning @ll,last weekend i bought the jvc kd-r711 car hifi and it doesn`t works really with my iPhone 3G. When i connect my iPhone with the jvc by usb, to 60 per cent the jvc can´t read from ipod. After a restart from the iPhone -> it works! The other Problem is the Handsfree by using bluetooth. For example, i hear a track from my ipod (after restart ;)) and receive a call. I pass the call over my jvc and i can talking by handsfree. So far so good. But when i hang up, the track from the ipod don´t resume. Same Problem, can´t read again from the ipod. The same scenario by hearing radio and using handsfree, it works fine.Sorry for my english and can anyone help me here? iPhone 3G iOS 4
I need more space for music so am debating whether I should get a 32G or 64G ipod Touch or an iPhone4. (I currently have an 8G ipod nano.) It would be nice to have phone and music on one device (iPhone) but I am guessing theres pros for having separate devices. What are your recommendations? I also hear there will be a new iTouch announced on Sept.1 so definitely will wait til then to decide. (I am also going to post this on the iTouch forum so I get feedback from those folks.) 13" White MacBook (Oct.09) Mac OS X (10.6.1) My first MacBook and I love it!

This is a strange issue. I recently upgraded to iTunes 10 and have subsequently synced my iPhone 4. I noticed just today (Saturday, 9/4) that the ipod app that existed on the Multitasking bar (swipe all the way left where the ipod controls and the orientation lock are) is no longer the ipod app but the iTunes app. Ive tried to remove that or replace it or whatever but that doesnt seem possible. I last used the ipod app from that location just last Wednesday (9/1).Did Apple change that or have I inadvertently done something? And how can I change it back??? I want the ipod app back in that place! I appreciate any feedback - thanks! MacPro 2.66 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon Mac OS X (10.6.4) 6 GB RAM, 2 TB HDD (total)
I have built in bluetooth on my new car, but it doesnt work well with my iPhone4. I think its because I have too many contacts on my phone and it gets confused. When I tried using it with a much smaller contact list, it worked perfectly every time (the problem is that I will say call bob jones and it will say calling mary smith). Ive tried different ways to manage my contacts so that the bluetooth will work, but nothing has worked. I need to be able to access the entire list if necessary (and do it fairly quickly), but have a smaller list of more frequently called contacts so the bluetooth can get it right. I did contact my dealer, and he said that Kia doesnt have an upgrade to the software in the works. Any ideas? iPhone4 iOS 4
Dear Community,Ive been going through this forum and found some threads regarding the bluetooth and contact issues after upgrading to iOS 4 and Mercedes Command / media interface systems.I came across another issue, which really bugs me:After the upgrade, my playlists and artists take more than a minute to load, and, even worst, 3/4 of all lines displayed are just empty. This means a playlist is indicated but the description just stays empty. The same applies for artists and albums! This makes music selection almost impossible. Will call my Mercedes dealer on Monday.Does anyone have the same issue? iPhone 3G iOS 4
Let me start by saying that it took me several years to finally buy my first Apple product. I refused to buy the hype and thought that people were insane for standing in lines for hours just to purchase Apple’s latest releases. After knowing people who had iPhones, and loved them for many years, and having spent plenty of time playing with them, I broke down and bought a 3GS. I was immediately hooked and never looked back. The phone was the most awesome piece of technology/gadgetry I had ever owned. I have since converted other nonbelievers to loyal iPhone enthusiasts. After my 3GS experience, and some serious problems with Windows 7 and Internet Explorer, I seriously started considering buying a Mac and utilizing Apple for all of my software and hardware needs. Unfortunately, that was until my 3GS was stolen and I decided to upgrade to the new iPhone4. Now I find myself questioning whether or not I want to still have anything to do with Apple at all.The initial problem I had with the phone was dropped call after dropped call. However, the larger, and much more upsetting issue, I now have is getting someone to acknowledge that the dropped calls are an issue. Besides the fact that I feel Apple has down-played the issue, I have grown even more upset with the attitude of the salespeople at my local Apple Store. After voicing my unhappiness in experiencing more dropped calls than successful ones, I am talked to as if it is all in my head. Instead of someone, anyone, saying that there is a problem with the phone, they say things like, “Try turning off your 3G before making calls, the bumper case should help the issue, maybe we need to replace your SIM card, and the network is experiencing increased call activity.” And the stories and excuses go on and on. I would have never expected Apple, who I truly believed only put the most superior products out on the market, to have released a phone with so many flaws. If it was Microsoft, however, I wouldn’t have been the least bit surprised. What bothers me even more are the people that are so blinded by the hype, that they swear it is not a big deal to turn off their 3G, or put a case on the phone, or to exchange the phone multiple times for other faulty iPhone4’s. Because I believe that everyone deserves second chances, I am not abandoning Apple just yet. I am returning my iPhone4 for another 3GS until Apple gets their act together. Until then, I am doing my absolute best to talk people out of purchasing the new iPhone4. While I have already successfully stopped several people from buying the new phones, the most amazing one was my very own father—a man that works in the Silicon Valley and has waited in Apple lines three times: once for the first generation iPhone, once for the 3GS, and once for two iPads he purchased (one for his wife and one for my sister). He is extremely loyal to Apple, as are most of his engineering, Bay Area buddies. However, he has friends that are just as disappointed with the new iPhone4 as I am, and says that he will not be purchasing one.Apple, please stop telling us that there is not a problem and that there are a series of simple things that can be done to help alleviate the problems we are imagining that we are having. If this issue is not handled properly—meaning a total recall of the faulty devices—I am afraid that you just might find your loyal customer base declining year after year. I had a horrible experience with Bank of America over ten years ago and have never gone back to them since. I am not alone in feeling this way about other things. It only takes one experience for people to swear off a product or company, never to return again. Can anyone else tell me if they feel the same way or if I am all alone? PC iOS 4
In oil & gas operations, cell phones and PDAs are typically banned because they’re considered intolerable risk for igniting potentially explosive environments. Consequently, we struggle to adopt innovative Smart Mobile Worker concepts at our plants. Same applies to mines, and strictly speaking, to the use of phones by consumers at gas stations where also you fill up your car. It’s not so much the RF energy, but more about what a hot spot or spark from a fault condition might trigger. We are currently evaluating to what extent real modern nearly all solid state and relatively speaking extreme low power devices such as the iPhone4 (but also ipod, iPad and MacBook Air with SSD) would need to be modified before they can be declared what we call ‘intrinsically safe’ for use in either Zone 1 (tough!) or Zone 2 (might be OK already). Meaning assess what would it take to pass testing as per IEC60079-11, or any other IEC60079 standard. Those that evaluate now ask if they can get circuit diagrams. I’d anticipate that Apple would decline. But one can always ask. Under NDA obviously. Plan B is that we get just an assessment of what the maximum voltages, currents can be inside the device, on PCBs and connectors, plus get an assessment on what the total capacity of all capacitors on board would be if we would place them all in parallel. A BOM would reveal that. Similar question for inductors. Would be really nice if a statement on iPhone4 (informal for now – this is just for initial feasibility assessment – no guarantees asked) can be made that says e.g:The maximum voltage inside, also under any plausible fault condition, is less than 8 Volts,The maximum current on any PCB track or connector is less than 4 A, also under single or dual fault conditions,Excluding the battery pack, the total capacity that theoretically would result from placing all C’s in parallel is below 500 uF, and,The total inductance that theoretically would results from all L’s in series, is less than 500 uH.The IP rating of the enclosure is IP44.Grateful for anyones assistance. It would be really appreciated if we can crack this. Together. We’d happily pay if that is what it takes. Sales volume wise this is likely peanuts to Apple, but marketing wise maybe this could be quite impactful to Apple also: imagine a claim along the lines of iPhones the first consumer cell phone that you do not need to switch off when refueling your car, or when you’re an oil worker at a refinery or oil rig!Anyone any suggestions? Hello,I just picked up and iPhone 4 in the New York City area two weeks ago and in general like the phone very much as a data device, though I am having huge problems with calls. I know that AT&T is not the best provider, however as a business user I would imagine that:1. A call drop rate of 50%-60% is unacceptable and may be due to other issues. When on a call sometimes driving and other times stationary I hear a double beep and see call failed on the phone. This happens a lot, as I mentioned on 50-60% of my calls and when the antenna bar shows 3+ bars.2. Using a Plantronics Voyager headset, one of the best I have ever used, sounds terrible, dropping every other word, when the phone is a few feet away.If there is not a fix for this that this forum can offer, I have to question the viability of this phone for my business needs.I am open to any and all suggestions.BP Iphone 4 iOS 4
Hi, this has probably been asked but I have not found a good answer. I got a new laptop and want to switch all of my iTunes to it and be able to sync my iphone 4, ipad, and ipod touch. How can I change the new computer to be my main computer? I tried with the ipod and lost everything, so I am kind of scared to try it on my phone and ipad. What do I need to do to be able to switch laptops permanently? Any help would be appreciated:) iOS 4

After upgrading to 4.0.2, my iphone will not connect to any device. Everything, including my cars stereo system which includes an ipod connector, says that the device is incompatible. Ive heard that the upgrade due out next week will take care of this - but will it really? Hello,I work on a mac but my sister has a pc. She recently upgraded her iphone from ios3 to ios4.Furthermore, she recently upgraded her system os from xp to win 7. Ever since the iphone update, her phone was significantly slower than before. Therefore, she wanted to downgrade her iphone from ios4 to ios3.I downgraded it but didnt do a backup. Now all her info is GONE! The only backup that was done, was when she upgraded from ios3 to 4, on the previous OS Win XP.I wanted to know if there is anyway of getting her data back?Is there software that can recover from the iphone, even after an upgrade or downgrade? Is there software that can recover from a formatted drive, even with a new copy of windows installed?Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks iPhone OS 3.1.3
HI, new user here. Ive recently been having trouble with my IPhone and was hioping to find some help. For about 2 months now everytime I try to connect any type of headphones to the headphone jack, my phone slows down to a very slow rate. The ipod part pretty much freezes and wont play the music. If I try to play the music 1st then insert the headphones, it starts to kinda skip as if it were a CD player and the play & skip functions are delayed.Any ideas what may be wrong with it? Windows XP

Long story short, I have had 2 replacements on my iphone 4 so far. I ordered a free case from my original iphone 4 before the replacement, before I got the replacement phone, I ordered a case INCASE SNAP CASE IPHONE 4 - SMOKE-ZML on my original iphone 4, now to find that I had a gap on the back of the phone, got it replaced, and will call it 1st replacement. Anyways on the 1st replacment I also ordered the same case, so now I ordered 2 of those, and evidently the order went through. Now im on my 2nd replacement and have ordered the GRIFFIN MOTIF IPHONE 4 - DMNDS/SMKE-ZML and yesterday it has shipped. Anyways will I still get the other 2 or will they not send that out?Not that it matters because Im already using the iskin solo for my iphone. But I plan on giving them free if anyone needs it. Hi all !So Ive been wondering how Facetime was working. I heard, since it was going through Wifi, it wouldnt be charged by the carrier, regardless of what kind of contract you have. Ive checked a few tests here and there, and it seems you need to call the person via regular GSM network, and then switch to facetime. Does that mean the GSM connections still running in the background? What if I want to call someone directly via Facetime? If I go in my contacts, select a person, scroll down and clic Facteime, its the list of numbers I have stored for that person that shows up. So is the call initiated via GSM Network? If thats the case, how can then Facetime work on the new ipod Touch?Thanxs for your input ! MacBook Pro 2,5Ghz - 4Gb Ram Mac OS X (10.6.4)
I have a iPhone 4 (32GB) running 4.0.2 and over the past week or two I have noticed that once in a while whatever music I have currently paused on my phone will just start to play. In fact it just happened again now. The iPhone was just sitting on my desk next to me in sleep mode and the music just suddenly started to play on it. It happened a few days ago as well when I was walking around a store with the phone in the side holster I have. I have tried rebooting the phone (even a hard reboot). Is there some app that might be causing this? Many times it has happened the iPhone is in sleep mode (screen locked) so it isnt as if me touching it in some way would do that. It happened again today when I ran the Weather Channel app on the iPhone the ipod started to play. Very strange. Intel Core i7 920 Windows 7 64bit Windows 7

I just wanted to post this topic as Im curious if the Apple monster will even read this or address them. I hope I get surprised. Apple makes, hands down, the most high quality of devices, but they tend to have it there way more than ours. I guess thats what makes them Apple. Without further ado, here is my list of bugs Ive noticed and I hope youll add to it. I would just love to see Apple address these:1. Performance issues with Podcasts and multiple-tasking. Youll hear stuttering on occasion, sometimes often while playing a podcast or even music. Ive noticed this at random and also at times when the phone locks or when switching out of the ipod.2. I just noticed this one: if you take the time to write on this exact site, you will find yourself getting lost, as sometimes the text goes on, and the screen doesnt follow it. Suprising that even on the iPhones home site, it cant perform the way it ought to. Youll also notice that below here, its asking me what hardware Im using and what OS. It should be clear what hardware Im on and even what OS Im running. Brilliant, considering this is Apple.com, I selected the iPhone 4 section, and the browser can report the os version. Oh wow, I just lost my text again and had to press the expanding icon on the bottom right of this pane. Also, sometimes i lose my text permanently where I should be able to scroll down to find it but there arent scroll bars... The attention to detail of the aesthetics of the phone cant be matched on the outside, but again, leave a lot to be desired on the inside.3. Echo for the remote callers own voice when my phone is plugged into a stereo through the headphone jack. Even when my volume is so low, I cant hear it.4. While heavily texting, if I exit out to the home screen after/during the send of the text, my phone will freeze for a good 60-120 seconds. If I press too many buttons, trying to get it to respond, it will reboot itself instead of coming back to life. Again this only happens (very seldom) when Im sending texts to multiple random people and I abruptly go home while a message is being sent (or maybe received?).5. While playing music, the quality will often drop drastically when entering a game or application that has sounds. This has only happened in two places so far. While talking on the phone, if I go to play music on the ipod to hear in my headphones, and when entering Bejeweled 2 Blitz with the in-game music off and the sounds on, while ipod music is being played. I do not believe this is Bejeweled at fault. Try it, make a call and try and play some background music in your headphones. The quality drops to a very unacceptable level.Thats actually all I can think of for now! Please fix these issues Apple and I will gain a good bit of respect, knowing you heard and acknowledged this. Also, please, everyone post your findings as well, in addition to the Bluetooth, and proximity bugs that have seemingly been addressed but not resolved. iPhone 4 iOS 4 4.0.2, thanks for the option above, and for not already knowing that.

Hi,I was wondering if any of you knowledgeable people could help me. I have an iphone4, and my daughter has a Mac with a web cam at college. She is able to video chat on her computer, and does so with friends computers, but when I try to Skype her (I downloaded the Skype app on my phone) her mac and my phone dont offer the option to video with each other. Is there a fee that has to be paid for me to be able to do this, or am I doing something wrong? (I can face time with my husband on our iphone4s so I know the video button works) If I cant video with her, Skype is a waste to have, because I can just call her to talk to her on the phone. Any insight would be very appreciated. powermac 11,2 Mac OS X (10.4.11) ipod touch, nano, shuffle iphone 3GS and iphone4 , Windows Vista
MobileMe syncs my calendar entries to my iPad, Mac, and iPhone 3 that I now use as an ipod Touch. However, I am unable to get calendar entries on my iPhone 4. Any suggestions? MacBook Mac OS X (10.6.2) 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB
Ive got proof that the glass shattered and im not a happy camper. I was putting something in the trunk and the phone slipped out of my hand and on to the pavement. It was in a case that cost me $35.00 I was sick, had the phone only 2 weeks and the front glass cracked. I went to AT&T and explained what i had did. They were no help here, not covered even if you buy the warranty. So they told me of a phone repair close by. They told me that they could fix it by replacing the screen and it will cost me $179.00 dollars to get it fixed WHAT. Ouch just bought it two weeks prior for $299.00 . What a the huge expense . After hearing all the pros about how flexible the glass is , dont belief everything you read or hear. I still have the phone, tucked away in my purse cause i dont want anyone to see how ugly it looks with the glass cracked. It still works so unhappily im having to make due with what i have very very frustrated. Ive owned a ipod and a previous version iphone, cheaper products by apple that were more rugged and durable, so i am not new to apple products. Perhaps after my contract is up in two years i will not rough be returning to an apple product. What a money making opportunity for a repairman, mine was a simple thing falling out of my hand but what about others who can be tuff on phones because of job, ie contruction workers, cooks etc or how about a family with young children who play a game and start running with it in there hands because a parent is chasing after them to get it back, excited giggling and putting down the phone thinking of the consequences that lie ahead just saying it could happen. I can see this happening the glass shattering. What about people with medical conditions and the phone accidently dropping beyond there control, will it cost $179.00 everytime you do it to replace the screen because afterall we signed a 2 year contract to get it for $299.00. iphone 4 iOS 4
Hi All,I recently moved my iTunes library from my PC to Network drive.During the move due to my stupidity I lost my playlists.I have 2 x iPhone 3Gs and a 160GB ipod classic. The ipod classic can sync with iTunes no problem. When I try to sync either of my iPhones nothing happens.I am using the same cable as my ipod and it starts charging the phone. My PC recognises the phone as it asks me if I want to few photos. However iTunes does not recognise the phone.I am not sure what to do as nothing has changed with the exception of where the music is located.Does anytone have any suggestions?I have been trying to get this sorted for the last 5 days with no luck. Windows XP

Yesterday, my 3G on OS 4.02 started acting odd when pressing the Home button. It took a couple of trys and then it would start randomly starting and stopping apps. This morning, when I would go to an app such as Settings, Mail, or anything else, you could not get out. Only way back to home screen was a reboot. While in the app you could do all the functions, but could not get out.So, it was time to upgrade anyway, so I bought a new 4 today. Now my question. I would like to take my 3G and give to a friend, but obviously it needs repairing. I have taken VERY good care of the phone and it shows little wear. It is possible that I could downgrade the OS and fix the problem? Is it possible to work on an inactive phone and install and OS?Thanks... Mac Book Mac OS X (10.5.4)

I would like to use my old 3g as an ipod touch while traveling in the Philippines so that if it gets lost, no big deal. It appears that the gps apps for the Philippines will work on an ipod touch. Am I correct in this assumption or is there a better app? thanks Macbook Pro Mac OS X (10.6.4)
