iphone 5 not ringing or alerting of texts calls going to voice mail

My iphone 5 recently started having problems with the ringer.  The ringer will be turned all the way up, the mute button is NOT being used and the phone will not ring for calls or alert for texts.  It is not always happening, but more so than not.  I have tried rebooting the phone, the OIS is up to date and I do not have the "Do Not Disturb" set.  I can be in the same spot with LTE and full signal have a call/text that is missed then receive a call/text and it rings.  Does not seem to matter if the call is coming from a land line, same Verizon carrier cell or different carrier cell there is no noticable reason.  Any ideas???

My phone discharges very quickly. I turned off location services (except Find my phone) and notifications (except phone alerts, message alert, reminders & calendars). I even put it on 4G instead of LTE. Does anyone have any suggestions? Help! Leslie

i have selected the sound "update" for my text messages, and it only works intermittently all of a sudden.  i have changed sounds to "minuet" with similar problem.  i have restarted and also reset iphone 5, but still intermittent.

I never like to hear the rings when I call some one . I was happy to see the app Call Vibrate but it is not responding at all . Is there any better Application which will simply alert me after a Call is Connected.

iphone 5 currently on 3g network will it work as well in 4gLTE

As the title suggests, I am in a country where no 4g is available yet, so im using it on a 3g network (Im in Taiwan by the way). I am going on a business trip and hope to use the 4g lte network there (through prepaid sim card). I have searched for the models that support 4g lte (like A1428-29). Mine is MD300TA. I have searched this model num and I couldnt find it except in Taiwan web. Anybody how has the similar model number and have used it in 4g networks? Cannot figure out how to set a sound alert for Find Friends notifications. I only get an alert banner but not sound which seems more useful when waiting for notifications.I have the latest version and cannot find anything close to setting this up, maybe there isn't????

Question on unlock process for iphone 4

Hello, I have completed my 2-year contract agreement with AT&T and received the instructions for unlocking my iphone 4. My question: My iphone is synced. Now I should do a full backup and restore of the iphone via iTunes, but will this (1) keep all my current apps and (2) affect my current settings, specifically will I need to re-adjust all my individual notifications (alert style, badge app icon, sounds, view in lock screen)? This would be a tremendous chore for me as I currently have 176 applications on my mobile. I appreciate your help with the answer to this. Thank you  Regards, Chuck

iphone 5 Charger has stopped working

Hey Fellow Apple Users,As the title of my discussion suggests, yes my iPhone5 charger has stopped functioning properly in fact it's stopped working altogether! I tried different ways to solve the problem ie different sockets to charge the iphone 5, changing the adapter, plugging the cable into my laptop. To all of which were no success. My phone not notifying me of some text messages and phone keeps asking for apple id password when in messages what's wrong with my phone iphone 4S

My phone sometimes does not alert me when I get messages from certain people, and is constantly asking me to put in my password for my apple ID. I have only done it once, but the prompt immediately popped up again, and is really just a major nusaince. I don't know what is going on with my phone because it also keeps freezing and won't even lock. It's just so frustrating at times.

iphone 4s keeps freezing and apps keep crashing

Verizon iphone 4s 32GB alerts not working correctly

Hi, I have a iphone 4s (32GB) that i got at a verizon store this past summer (May-Aug 2012). I'm currently only using 7.3GB of it (so i don't really have a ton of stuff on it), and i always close my apps after i use them.  I am having an issue with the alerts. In my settings i have the notifications for imessages/text messages, and mail to be 'on' with alert as the alert style, badge app icon on, show preview, view in lock screen, etc on. BUT whenever i will get emails it will viberate once, but the email wont pop up as an alert, i will manually have to go to my mail to see what it is. Also, with text messages i can get a text message and my phone wont even viberate or send me an alert for it, i will just randomly have a 1 on the messages icon. Is there a recall or something that would explain why my phone is doing this? I am puzzeled, because i take really good care of my phone and am confused why this would be happeneing- because i do all the right things to keep it working for as long as possible. Thank you!

It will send text format,I have tried all I can via the forums with no success. iphone won't send pictures over my 3G pr wifi connection so must be a problem with update. From reading the boards and online it seems a problem apple are willing to sweep under the carpet. I have turned off face time iMessage and rebooted. Checked my mobile number messed with router settings and reset network. Any ideas people ?

iphone 4 sound issue please help iphone 4S

Hi experts, need some help. I've had my iP4 for 2 years now, mostly trouble free.  Recently my sounds have "mostly" stopped working and I just can't figure out why.  I've done a lot of troubleshooting so here is what the symptoms are: - Volume up/down buttons do not work, nothing happens when pressed- Silent switch does not work, nothing happens when switched- Lock sound does not happen- Phone does not ring (only vibrates)- Phone does not alert or chime - Some apps audio does not work, but most apps play audio fine (youtube, music, videos, most games, etc)- When selecting ring-tone or alert sounds I can hear the sound, so the speaker is working fine Here is what I've tried- check all settings and switches, certainly not a setting issue- cleaned the dock connector with a brush, it is very clean- cleaned headphone jack, and insert/remove headphones multiple times- wiped all settings and restored to factory settings- updated to latest ios6 firmware- deleted "com.apple.iapd.plist" file using iexplorer, did nothing Seems like I'm just about out of options now!  Thanks for any help.

My music synced to my iphone but it won't play box on right of song title almost looks like stop symbol. What can I to fix this

This has never happened to me before and I have had my iphone for a couple years now. Just today I bought a couple albums on my mac through iTunes and they downloaded just fine. I have iCloud so they were automatically transferred to my phone. When I go to listen to the songs I found that they won't play. There is a gray box on the far right next to the song title. It won't play and after a little while it just skips to the next song. The weird thing is some songs did download all the way and work just fine. Please help!!!!

As the title says. I have had this problem for a couple of weeks. When I turn the silent button on, my iphone vibrates constantly. It even signals its turning off and on silence mode repeatedly. I dont know how or why it happened, it might have happened when I lost the iphone one time.

How to Delete Messages in Spotlight Search History without Resetting or Syncing iphone 5

I know there are a lot of individuals dealing with this issue and if you are like me you spend hours searching "how to delete messages in spotlight search history" and it seems like every post either says to reset your phone or sync it! I'm sorry but I did not want to go through the hassle of resetting my phone but I did try to sync it which did nothing so I decided to just mess around with my settings and I believe to have found the answer to everyone's question!!  This worked for me so I really hope this works for you! Just follow the steps below:  1. Go to <settings><general><spotlight search><uncheck messages> 2. Then turn your phone off and wait a minute! Turn your phone back on and off again 2 or 3 more times while waiting a minute in between turning it off! 3. After you are done doing that go back to step 1 and <check messages>! 4. Now go to your spotlight search and those messages should be deleted! If they are deleted I would recommend going back to step 1 and <uncheck messages> so you do not have the same problem with messages showing up again in the spotlight search! It works for Mail too! Just follow the same steps listed above but uncheck mail instead of messages or do both at the same time!!*Here is an extra tip which will remove deleted Mail Messages, just follow the steps below:1. Go to <settings><mail, contacts, calendars><your mail account> scroll down and click <advanced> Now click <remove> under the title Deleted Messages and you can choose to have your mail removed After One Day, After One Week, After One Month or Never.  I hope this post was detailed enough and easy to understand!I really hope it works for you like it did for me! Notificationsalert work only over 3G and not over Wifi iOS 6 on 4S--HELP iphone 3G

Ok Guys .. Something wierd happened today to my 4S. All my notifications/alert are coming ONLY through 3G and NOT over wifi. To name few apps (iMessage, Twitter, ESPN ScoreCenter, Whatsapp, etc) Up until yesterday I was able to get notifications over wifi just fine.  But starting today no more notificaitons over wifi.  When I turn on my 3G and all of a sudden I get alert on my phone about iMessages, tweets, scores, etc. To rule few things out: 1) I tried resetting my router and did forget the network thing on my phone but still having the same issue.2) I'm able to surf on safari just fine.3) DND is off! Never turned it on!4) This is not due to phone losing wifi connection when locked, because I tested it.  I waited after unlocked the phone and surfed on safari for few mins to see if i get any type of notification, but nothing until I go and turn on my 3G.5) Tried the phone on different wifi network without any luck.  Anyone else having this issue?  or got fix? Thanks!

iOS 6 no longer supports voice reminder alert-help iphone 3G

I rely on reminders - especially VOICE reminders. The app, AidaReminder, used to be able to play my recorded voice reminder even when the phone was locked. I need this capability - because it doesn't work to have to look at my phone. My phone isn't always physically near me or I'm working with something too messy to pick up the phone. Moreover, AidaReminder used to be able to keep alerting me until I turned it off. Now all I get is one alert chime, and I have to physically interact with the phone to know what the reminder is. I checked with other apps and they all have the same problem. On the VoCal app page: "iOS 6 users note: The mode that allows your voice to play as the reminder tone can no longer be supported in iOS 6. VoCal will revert back to alerting you to a reminder to which you then slide to listen to your recording." Why did Apple do this?  Is this something they can fix in an update? Is there a way to let Apple know how HUGE a problem this is?.

I have an iphone 4S which is only about 3 months old. A day or so ago I noticed that the alert didn't go off when I recieved a text message and the ringtone is also silent even though my settings show that everything is at max volume.

Touchscreen freezes on iphone 5 working on OS 6.1

My touchscreen on my iphone 5 freezes. Sometimes doesn't do it for hours, the next time freezes multiple times in a couple of minutes. I read a lot of stuff trying to prevent it (turning off screen auto-brightness, removing custom wallpapers) although it unfreezes when I press the home button 1 or 2 times or lock, unlock the phone, but this is really annoying and I don't have the time to go to an apple store to get it replaced because there is a big probability for the problem to occur on the next phone and the next. I am looking for a solution to get rid of this thing permamently, I thought iOS 6.1 will do it..but NO - it froze right away on the loading screen after the update. Please if someone has a solution to get rid of this bug help!

Vibrate Function Not Working iphone 4S

Hello everybody. I think something is wrong with my iphone 4S. When it is on silent, the vibrate does not seem to be working. However, I can feel the vibrate alert for everything else (text, email, etc.). What could be wrong? How could I check the vibrate setting for the phone ringing? Any help would be appreciated. I keep missing phone calls.

Updates Won t Show on iphone 4 Since iOS 6.1 Update

Since I updated my iphone 4 earlier this week to iOS 6.1, my updates won't show.  I get a badge stating how many updates I have, but when I go to the App Store, then Updates, I get a completely blank screen.  It doesn't say no updates.  It doesn't show what programs have updates.  It just has the title Updates at the top and under it is a big white box. I have tried shutting down and restarting my phone several times, but that has not changed anything.

I plugged in my iphone into iTunes today, for the first time in a month, and I got the alert about if I wanted to update my iphone to iOS5. I said yes, and I let it update by itself, with no issues or problems.But once it restored, I noticed that my background on my phone was different, and then I saw that all my apps I have downloaded this month, all my photos, and every text message from this month had dissapeared, and it had all decided to restore what my phone was like a month ago.I took very important photographs yesterday, and I am desperate to find a way to recover them, please help me. I looked through my backups on iTunes and saw there was one from 8:50pm (around the time i plugged it into the computer) - so I asked it to restore from this backup, but it was still the backup from a month ago. Please, any suggestions or any ways to get my stuff back would be appreciated so much!

I have the iphone 4, the battery runs out real fast if i use it alot. I know all batteries die fast if u use it alot, but in a normal day a work I just take a glanze at the phone a few times, its not like i am constantly using it, and in about 5-7 hours it dies Me dont like that....HELP Please... My iphone 4S sound won't work. I can't watch videos or listen to music directly off my phone. It only plays with plugged into to auxiliary cord. Although ringtone and my alarm works I can't change how loud either .

I have an iphone 4S. My ringtone and alarm will work, on occasion my texting alert will too. Although, I can't control how loud I want any of these things anymore. Other than that, my slide to unlock sound does not work, neither does the click sounds when texting. I have checked to make sure these are all on and enabled in settings. My phone will not play music and I cannot hear any videos either unless it is plugged into an auxiliary cord and played through a stereo. I dropped it in the snow once, could this be why? Is this a malfunction? Can I fix it or do I get a new phone because of a defect? Thank you!!

alert pop up when trying to install itunes OS X iphone 5

when i plug my iphone 5 into itunes it comes up with, "The iphone “Tina's iphone” cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 10.7 or later. Go to www.itunes.com to download the latest version of iTunes." then when i download the new version (OS X) and try to run the programme an alert pops up simply saying, "alert: iTunes cannot be used on this computer". Leaving me with no other options that 'OK'. What actions can i take?

unpurchased app installed and charged iphone 3G

Hello,  I woke up today around 9:30 am UK Time, checked my emails on my phone and then started playing "Talking Ginger" kids game because of one of the offers, around 10:00 I noticed an email alert on top of my iphone screen about itunes receipt. When I opened this, it was about "Kids Song Collection" purchase reciept for £1:49. I was shocked because first of all my 3 years old daughter is sleeping, secondly I have security settings configured in iphone with a complex password to purchase and she does not know that password and thirdly I am using the phone and I know I didn't even open App Store or that app so how come this has happened.  I did a search on google about how to report and tried to follow the process through itunes but every time I click on "report a problem in itunes" this opens a new apple page in firefox "http://www.apple.com/uk/support/itunes/" Whilst further browsing Purchase History in itunes I also noticed another purchase from yesterday about "FireWorks Arcade" and this was unbelieveable because I didn't even receive any receipt yesterday about that purchase and again I am the only one who can make purchases due to the complex password known only to myself. I am not sure what is going on here, but clearly as per today's incident it seems that apple is loosing their control. Please advise what can be done here.  Hope to hear from you soon,  Kind Regards;

iphone 4s sound issues

I'm having a few problems with the sound of my iphone 4s. I sometimes receive a tone when a text message, email/alert comes through but not all the time. My ringtone also doesnt work all the time. I rang my mobile off work phone and it one rings then automatically goes to voicemail. My phone shows a missed call but it never actually made a noise. Have read quite a few posts on similar issues but mine seems to play my music through my phone fine (at the moment anyway). I'm concerned incase it affects my alarm as it's my clock for work.  Through my headphones I can hear when a message comes through and also it rings. Any ideas on what it could be/how to fix it? Thanks x

2 Alerts for every TXT iphone 5

I am getting one alert followed by a second alert about 5 seconds later for every txt message I receive.  The actual message only shows up on the second alert.  I have an iphone 5 with iOS 6.0.1 on Verizon Wireless.  I called Verizon and they did not have anything in their knowledge base about this issue. I went to settings and set Repeat alert to "never" but that did not work. Anyone else having the issue? Any resolution?  This was not happening with my 4S.  Thanks, Jim

Hi Like the title says, I can't buy or update anything because my account has been disabled. it's been disabled and for a while now and it's never told me that it was for security reasons. I have changed my password multiple times and I've signed out and signed back in multiple times and it's still disabled. I also have $50 worth of a giftcard in that account but since i cant buy anything i can't use it and that kinda ***** : Any help with this would be awesome

I have an iphone 4 32GB dubai purchase part says: MC605ZP/AWell, this is a factory unlocked device and i stay in India with access to USA, UK and DubaiThe network is always in searching mode no matter sim is present or no. It never shows no sim it keeps on discovering no matter what.On top of it i cant see my IMEI number on the device. I tried all software stuff possible UPGRADE, RESTORE several times.. but no help..The device is as good as dead. The apple people here in India say the device can only get replaced in Hong Kong.Well, but my device is a Dubai purchase...I just wanna know is it possible to get a replace from US or UK as India is again a no no from Apple? Someone please help
