Hello everyone! I've got a problem with my iphone 4S and I hope someone here can give me a hint on how to fix this... Last year in March I was on vacation in Las Vegas (I live in Austria/Europe) and bought a new unlocked iphone 4S GSM in the Apple Store in the Forum Shops in Las Vegas including AppleCare+ (I just learned that iPhones can only be serviced in the Country where they are bought - my bad). Lately I was browsing through my Apple support profile and noticed that my iphone was not registered there. So I tried to enter the serial number of the device and got this message:We're sorry, but this is a serial number for a product that has been replaced. Please check your information and re-enter your serial number. If your information is correct, you may need to contact us. I knew this could not be true so I called Apple Care here in Austria and first I was told that - according to its serial number - my iphone has been replaced, and that it never should have been sold. I also was told that I have no chance of getting any service for this device despite the Care Protection Plan because the device is invalid due to its status as "replaced". And last but not least I was told that I could never receive any service for this device because American devices cannot be repaired in Europe (I was not aware of this fact and would have expected the salesperson in the Apple Store to tell me because I definitely told him that I am from Austria). Meanwhile I wrote an email to the store where I bought the iphone from but it's two days now and I have not received an answer (or any indication that my email was received) yet. Is there anything I can do? Yours,Michael

iphone 4s Software Update fail from 5.1.1 to 6.1.3

Hey everyone I have been holding back from updating my iOS on my iphone 4s (I know - not a smart move) I am currently still on 5.1.1 and trying to update to 6.1.3 (finally) from the phone itself (not via iTunes) I am trying to downlaod and install the update using Wi-Fi connectivity, but it just wouldn't let me? Kept saying An Error occured while downloading... It didn't give me any error code or any other explanation. It just simply won't update  I know it was silly of me to begin with for not updating for so long, but I don't understand why my phone is rejecting the update? If this is even what is happening..  Also I sent my iMac for repair recently, came back with a Lion (which was what I had on there previously anyway) but it wasn't updated? So I couldn't just open iTunes and restore all my contacts..  AND I am still currently in the process of downloading the updates - but something always happens as well, an error occured that I have to re-download the update, internet drops on and off, etc.  -- The reason I wanted to update was (this is a whole separate problem) my 4s kept crashing the apps, not doing anything out of ordinary - it just crashes everytime i start or a open an app. So I would hard reset my phone (turning it off and on again) and then I would find all my contacts gone. No other entries are gone, just my contact names! All messages and calendar entries are all still there - just no contact names in my address book. ***? After sleuthing here and there, and found no real solution to this problem. I decided to update my iOS because one of the discussion thread I found told me to try that. Heck, why not.  SO I tried uploading and this is where I end up..    Does ANYONE have any idea what the **** is going on? Does anyone else out tehre have the same problem? Surely this is not just me!!

My Wi-Fi won't turn one. It's grey. Help iphone 4S

I recently updated the software on my iphone 4S and the Wi-Fi button is grey, and I can't select it or turn it on. The phone is showing me my Wi-Fi address, so resetting my network settings don't help anything. I've tried everything. Please help

to cut a long story short. I was interested in an i-phone... got the details..checked them all.. on the phone and with the provider, VODAPHONE... told unlocked, not stolen etc etc. proceeded to buy the phone...new sim topped up £10 only to find it wouldn't work...  Went into vodaphone store..been running around following thier advice..(they said I need a friend who is a customer on vodaphone to get passed the unlocking with a vodaphone code.. and they would do it for free given the circumstances...so i run errands go back and forth doing as they asked...got nowhere) SO IT IS NOW A MONTH LATER..and after complaining and complaining to thier email site and repeatedly asking for help in store..I am stumped as what to do and just have a glorified ipod. I WILL NOT BE FORCED TO REMAIN ON THE VODAPHONE NETWORK given the situation they have put me in and thier unwillingness to help so i refuse to use the phone with vodaphone... BUT WHAT can i do PLEASEEEEEEE? all they keep on suggesting is that I get the original owners details but he is not answering anything...and the phone is not registered as stolen etc so what is the problem!? As you can imagine I am really peeved by the whole thing as I actually carried out all the necessary checks, and whilst the phone was not bought directly from vodaphone, I went to them as the provider, to find otu about unlocking etc as it is always advised to do so..and it was them that gave me the wrong information but they still will not resolve the issue. I have even sent them phone records to confirm when I rung and the name of the invalid who told me the phone was unlocked in the first place. I really would much appreciate any help as they are ignoring  my emails now.

We have an unlocked iphone 5, numbers were brought into the device from windows live. Incoming calls from international numbers will show only the incoming caller id, but not the name, even though they are in he address book. We tried to add the "+" to beginning of the number already.

Why are notes made on my iphone automatically e-mailed to me? I got 40+ e-mails, stunning. How can I sync / copy-paste my notes from my iphone to my Mac in .pages format?Or is it better to sync from notes (iphone) to notes (MacBookPro) first, and copy paste to Pages? Then, how to sync from notes to notes? Also, I have heard I should be saving the notes on my icloud account. I have created one, but how could you save your notes on the iCloud? I can t connect to my wifi iphone 3G

I'm on my iphone 4S and I can't connect to ANY app that uses wifi, including the iTunes store. I keep getting notifications that I need to check my Internet connection (I have it on my phone) and that my phone wasn't sure if itunes.apple.com was really iTunes' web address (oh come on!) It's storming here where I am in Tennessee now, and I figured that might be part of the problem. But is it?  I've reset the network settings, and it still says it. What could the problem be? I've even tried turning off the wifi and using 4G and nothing happened.

The apple ID associated with my iphone is showing up as my son's ID for his iPod Touch 5th gen.  When I look into the settings everything is set to my email address, but when I attempt to update it shows his email address and says I have the wrong password.  I did not have this issue until I updated the iOS system.  Can anyone help?

Cannot Restore Corrupt Backup after upgrading to 6.1.3 iphone 4S

My wife needed to make space on her iphone because of the many videos she had on it. When she plugged the phone into our iMac, running 10.8.3, and connected to iPhoto to transfer the videos over the upload started as it normally does. However, during the middle of the transfer iTunes interupted and INFORMED my wife that the phone was now upgrading to the newest software version (6.1.3)being as we usually keep our phones up to date with upgrades anyways we didnt think much of it. Unfortunately during this process the software update failed and the phone crashed. We were left with two options "restore from backup" or "restore iphone." We tried several times to restore from the backup and we received the same error message every time "iTunes could not restore the iphone because the backup was corrupt or incompatable with the iphone that is being restored." I went into my library and checked out my backups folder and I saw that there were two new backups there for my Wife's phone. One time stamped at the exact time the phone crashed and one from the last time I tried to restore(after the phone crashed). We finally decided that there must have been a glich with the softwarre download, since it didn't complete, so we decided to "Restore iphone" hoping that a corrected software would then allow us to restore from the backup properly. So the phone was wiped and reset with the new software, and we still cannot access the backup that we need. Though it is extremely frustrating that the videos of our toddler are gone, it is very important that we somehow find a way to access the information in the non corrupt backup files, her address and phone books as well as past text messages and calendars. I went to a site called iphonerecoveryonline and followed their protocol and I was able to see that all of the aboved mentioned information is still in those backups, but I have no way, with out paying these people $20 per file, to return that info to her phone. I would rather not have to pay to recover this info, but I guess that may be my only option? Any advice, experience or reccomendations would be greatly appreciated.

Faced issues with iphone 5

Hi,  I bought my iphone 5 from Germany just after the launch.However I live in Turkey and I didn't have chance to try my iphone before I got back to Turkey.After I turned back to my country I have noticed that there are several dust on camera sensor as you can see below pictures. In additon after a while the lock/power button stop working as well. Apple claims that Apple products have 1 year international warranty but this doesn't work in Turkey. Nobady gets responsibility of any Apple product if the customer buys it from any foreign country.  I don't wanna go to Germany just to visit an Apple store to solve my problem and I couldn't find any email address to contact with email.I am a loyal customer and I almost have all Apple products.  Could please check and advice a solution to solve my problem ?  Best Regards, Tayfun Tarı.

Hi, three weeks ago my bank card was compromised by online transactions made by someone else to a car dealership. I have no association with a car so these transactions wasn't used by myself. I reported it as fraud. The money was refunded back into my account but in the meantime I was issued with a new card and a new pin. Last week, the same transactions happened with my new card. Again, I reported fraud. An adviser told me that it looks like my iphone was hacked into by possibly using an unsafe and open WiFi area. Is it possible that an iphone can get hacked into and for them to retrieve sensitive information such as bank details, address etc? And if so, what free app can I get to protect all my details, including my bank details. I do a lot of purchasing online via eBay and iTunes. I never, never give my bank details to anyone, nor have I purchased anything online using an insecure website, as I know not to do this. But, my main question is, can my iphone 5 get hacked into or get a virus and if so, what protection can I install for this to never happen again. Bear in mind I do not have a laptop or a pc. So my iphone 5 ios had a new update today and i did the update with a wifi connection and now it says invalid sim.  Its with Verizon Wireless by the way, the service. I did a hard reset, I did a reset network settings and nada.  I'm now doing a reset all settings and restoring phone to by last backup from iTunes.  Has anyone else run into this problem??

just upgraded to 6.1 now safari kicks me off to home screen iphone 4

I just updated to 6.1 two days ago, and today I can't get my email or get on Safari.  My emails do continue to get pushed to my phone but when I tap on one to read it, the screen locks up for a second and then kicks me off to my home screen.  The same thing goes for Safari, when I go to type in a web address, it locks up for a second and goes back to my home screen.  I reset my phone four different times, and then finally reset it to the factory settings, and still it's doing the same thing.  Anyone having this same issue?
