Hi everyone! I have an iphone 5 that was newly "remodeled" for tmobile. I was wondering if there was something wrong with my battery after a recent decline in performance. I am updated to the latest iOS and I recently restored all of my settings on my phone in an attempt to increase battery performance, leaving only wifi on location for weather. With my current usage and standby, do I have something to be concerned about? I know some individuals that have my usage and will have a standby time of over a day. Advice and opinions is very much appreciated.

Having Paid about £20 for an official unlocking, I am being told to insert a Non-Orange 3G Sim card into the phone that is to be unlocked (Orange is the network the iphone iscurrently locked to).  Well I don't have a Non-Orange 3G Sim Card do I !! Unable to update iOS to more than 4.2.1 iphone 3G

I have gone through all of the steps to try to upload my iphone 3 to an iOS5 so that I can load google, facebook etc.  The phone says it is at 4.2.1 and that is the latest software available.  Before I did the original update the phone had all those apps.  HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I go on vacation tomorrow, to Egypt for a week. According to the weather it's currently 40 degree's! I will most likely listen to spoitfy (offline-mode) while lying in the sun, i will cover my iphone to keep it out of direct sunlight, however will it be safe? It's a brand new iphone and i'm worried i will destory the battery life or hardware or anything in general.  Thanks.

google maps App Issue Blue Tooth for GMC Acadia- iphone 5

I'm having an issue with the our blue tooth which is paired with our GMC Acadia.  It's works fine with the exception of each time it gives directions vocally it repeats "Call Ended" through the stereo system.....   It does this every single time the App gives vocal instructions. Apple maps - No problem although I need to be connected via USB which the vehicle has.  Apple maps is fine so I'm not sure why all the Hype about google maps for iOS. I am just courious if anyone has come across this issue with the google maps for iOS in a vehicle.

iphone 4s Mail App using Gmail-Username or password for account incorrect

I recently changed my Gmail password for my Gmail account while on my desktop pc. Then on my iphone 4s, I configured the google app (for the first time) for my Gmail account. This worked fine. I went back to the default iphone Mail app (in Settings) which was already configured with my Gmail account (and was previously working). I figured I would be prompted to change my password - which I was. But it wouldn't accept the change. So I then deleted the account and tried to set it up again. It still won't work. It continues to say the username or password for the account is incorrect.  Can you not have the same Gmail account configured in both places - the Mail app and the google app? Thoughts?Thanks!Lori

iphone 4s 6.1.3 problems with 3g In and Outgoing Calls

Hi Everybody!I got a factory unlocked (originally was Vodafon locked) iphone 4s with firmware 6.1.3.When I insert my sim (Hungarian Telenor) when only EDGE is on it founds the signal and seems like everything is working.After a few hours or sometimes even a day passes by a phone stays on full signal with Carrier logo and Edge on, but my friends reporting that they cant call me(like im offline) and i cant make calls either.The interresting stuff is that the Edge connection is fully working during that im offline for my friends via Calls and i can send and recieve imessages and viber messages.When i switch 3g on it disconnects from service drops the EDGE and never finds the way back and stays 'searching' or 'no service' at all.. I thought that its my Carrier's fault so i went to spoke with them and tried 5different micro Sims( cause i wrote that 4s-s are sensitive to SIM card types).. this thing not worked either, Then i tried the phone with a T-mobile SIM card.. it does the same..connects to the services,but with 3g switched on not finding service..so totally like with my sim. Here Comes the bumm... i Tried the phone with vodafone sim and everything works.. simple connectivity to 3g with full internet usage,can make and recieve calls...I spoked with all of the Carriers and also Apple and no body can give me nothing..the phone is off varranty so changed to a new one isnt an option..Anybody? Something? im beginning to give up .. please help if you can..Thanks!!   ps.:i restored over 20times,reset network settings,switch off and on automatic setting time.. every little possible things that people wrote on forums before..

I have iphone 4S and using chrome app. google recently give me a lot of problem, it redirect to me to some website I never heard before such as http://corp.kaltura.com/. It was different website couple days ago. I tried on Safari, both app will have problem at the same time. If I can use google, Safari and chrome will both work, if google has problem, both will have problem (google only). I tried on search box or type google.com, clear all the histories and cookies. Could not solve problem.  Sometimes turn off the iphone then turn it back on will temperately solve the problem, but it come back again. Yahoo search engine has no problem at all. Anyone know how to fix that PS: sometimes I get google authentication requirement, but this redirect issue is not link to that. They are happen at two different times

Hello! I´m soo frustrated right now - it seems i can not get my new iphone 5 to work... I broke the screen my iphone 5 aproximatley 4 mounths ago, and bought a new screen on ebay. I bought this for over 300 dollars, and got a friend to fix it. (and paid him as well) He broke one of the thin wires when he was changing the screen, making the front camera and speaker useless. Except that, the phone worked just fine. Then he bought a new wire, installed that, and i got it back. But now, it wont work! When i start it just a picture of an USB cable towards an itunes brand appear... and i have litterally tried everything. No matter what I do, I can not fix it, or restore it - the error code 1611 or 1603 appears om my mac screen when I connect it to itunes, and I get no further than that. And Ive uptaded all the programs, tried holding in home and of/on-button, go into the "hosts" on my mac (if you dont understand what i ment by that, just ask) Can somebody please help me?  Im cryin here, Ive used so much money on this and it does not work. Whats wrong with it? Ive tried every possible solution that appears on google, NOTHING works. I didn't bought the phone from Apple, but maybe I can send it in to them and I can get a new one? I dont expect that, but Ive would be in heaven

Poor battery life iphone 5

My iphone 5 has the latest ios 6.1.3 and the battery life is hit and miss. The phone has been factory wiped in itunes and re set up. It sometimes will drop 50 percent on its own in a couple hours. If i do the home button and power reset on the phone the battery will report better. Maybe its a software glitch. I was also disappointed with the fact that i bought a high end home stereo and the iphone doesnt support the new apt-x codec yet their laptops do?  Why is this. Its no wonder apple stocks are falling. I have owned every iphone since the 3gs and really have not seen any real improvements other than processors and screens. Poor customizations, lack of ability to personalize the phone and really nothing to keep me with buying another apple. This is unfortunate as the hardware is great but the feature set just hasn't improved in 5 years. In fact i think it has gotten worse. Being a communications tech i used to use wifi apps for testing signal strength on installed accesspoints and those apps got stripped be ause of apples sdk or whatever it was. The slew of apps on the android market for this is staggering. Now i see that motorola, htc and samsungs are all supporting the apt-x codec but no apple. Gps apps are poor and apple maps for our area are black and whit and half are covered in clouds from the satellite view so you cant see the streets anyways. As a business phone the iphone is looking less imoressive day by day. As a music player its also now being outdone. I hope apple takes some of this to heart and really does something impressive to IOS 7 to restore faith in its fans. And maybe some day we will be able to use one of our songs for a ring tone instead of having to pay. My old cdma phone even had this ability.

im 2 months into my 24 month contract no insurance as i thought the house insurance covered it but they dont as the phone was stolen from work. So im stuck with a contract for a phone i dont have that some guy now has for free..... I have been using the find my iphone app but it has been offline since? they turned the phone off straight away (as any thief would do)After doing some research i came to know that the find my iphone app doesnt work if the phone has been switched off?  Ive reported the theft to police they have CCTV footage but cant track the theives! Isnt there anything that can be done other fork out for a new phone?! I dont understand why an app would be made that does half the job? obviously the first thing a thief would do is turn the phone off? And ive even found out that if they plug the phone into itunes they can jus wipe the handset not impressed. We pay so much for these handsets yet there not even upto scratch with security features. (overpriced? definatley) You would think that with all these updates they come up with they would have done something for the security and tracking. Im disappointed with the what i have found.

There is not another solution. If the phone shows offline, then the battery has died, someone picked it up and turned it off, or removed the SIM, or has restored the device. Also, if you contact your carrier and have them suspend the service, that will render Find My iphone useless.

Will this change my maps from google to apple maps iphone 3G

My only concern about updating my iOS or Carrier Settings is that I don't want to loose google maps until Apple has worked on their map app and fixed most of the bugs in it.  My daughter upgraded her iOS and we have taken trips together.  google is not as "pretty" but is much, much more accurate and easier to use (IMHO).

Im wondering if anyone can help me, My phone got stolen on sunday evening at around 12ish, after looking for it all night i resorted into comming home and searching for it via i cloud and find my iphone app, i entered my apple ID and my password but it only told me that my iphone is 'offline'. When i suggested this to my network provider when i called them to block my sim card so the phone wasnt being used, he told me this was because they must of took the sim card out?  I was more upset about all of my pictures and videos being deleted because there was lots of my family and my life on my iphone, so i tried to retreive it by setting up my icloud account to see if i could get my pictures back. To my surprise, it said i had a photo stream on my iphone, however when i clicked on my photo stream it had said 'files empty'. I then went back onto my icloud account and clicked 'Manage Storage' all it came up with was a 'Back up' tab and when i clicked on the tab it said "laurens iphone 31/3/2013 3:38AM - 4,GB" That is all my iphone told me, it didnt tell me anything else. Weirdly, it didnt show me any of my pictures but the date its telling me is the date i lost my iphone and 3.38am indicates to me that the person whoever has it must of went home and tried to do something with my phone at 3:38am? Im not sure.. but i want to know if there is any way i can get my photos back or retreive my iphone. I also have my serial number if  this helps? Help would be very appreciated right now.Thanks

Hi, Yesterday I lost my iphone 5 which I bought 3 months back... I filled a police complaint, but i am not very hopeful with them. As Indian police will never make a move to find a cell phone. Anyways, Fortunately the "find my iphone" app was there in the phone and the location services were enabled with data. I tried to find it out from icloud.com portal but cell seems to be offline. And on calling the cell it is switched off. The only thing which I did not do in my iphone was to set a passcode. I am not sure how does the app behaves if some one restarts the phone. Is it possible for the thief to erase all data despite the app being active on the phone? Is it possible for the thief to use the phone by reseting it to factory setting without me getting location of the phone? I saw in one of the youtube tutorials that the phone will switch on and it ill try to find the data network, and if it finds data then it will send me intimation and blocks the cell. however, what is the scenario if the thief dont use the data and put on the phone? Or if he uses a SIM that does not have data connection? Can they reuse my phone. Can I do anything to prevent them using my iphone. I am trying to get my phone's IMEI number on tracking but dont know if it works before they reprogram my cell.( if at all they have so much brain). Please share your comments, views and suggestions and let me know the answers to the questions which I have asked. Thanks Abhishek Sinha

GPS position and directions appear but on a blank screen. 3G and LTE aren't teh problem, iut works well with other apps and google maps. Is there anyone having the same issue ?

I just started to get a SIM Failure Pop up on my iphone 5on Thursday while traveling and using maps fornavigation. I cannot seem to remove or repair this error.I have gone to yoru support page and followedinstructions on how to reset network.I first tried to send a text and failure came up. Then resetnetwork and text went through, but pop up still came upwith Sim Failure every time I turn my phone on.I also followed instructions to remove Sim Card whenturned off and Reinserted it and that did not work either.What do I do? google Chrome app disappears iphone 3G

Cannot install Chrome browser on iphone 3GS, iOS version 6.1.2. I installed Adobe Edge Inspect which requires Chrome. App Store shows Chrome 'Free' button but it is greyed out and does not respond. When iphone is connected to iMac to sync apps, iTunes says Chrome is installed but there is no Chrome icon on my iphone. Rebooted iphone, uninstalled Adobe Edge Inspect and google Chrome in iTunes, rebooted again, reinstalled google Chrome - can see installation progress bar on iphone, but as soon as Chrome finishes installing, its icon disappears from iphone. Chrome is still listed in iTunes as installed but not visible on iphone. App Store will not let me re-download Chrome - says it is already downloaded. Going around in circles here! In desperation, also tapped Reset Home Screen in iphone Settings, which did indeed move my icons around but still no Chrome. Any ideas please?

3g data connection on iphone 4s inconsistent

Sometime around the Feb 8, I suddenly lost capability to access the internet thru the Virgin/Sprint 3g network and Safari.  Wifi works fine, as well as phone and text.  Have contacted Virgin multiple times with no result.  Spent 3 hours in Apple store, who gave me a new 4s but it has the same problem.  Have tried every solution seen on the net, including soft & hard reboots, toggling Airplane mode, and network reset.  I have not yet done a factory reset, holding that as a last resort. Odd thing is that some apps do work on 3g: Phone, Messages, google maps, Translator, Game Center, Skype, Clock, Xfinity TV, iCloud, and Opera Mini. What doesn't work are: Safari, Weather Channel, Xfinity Mobile, google, Chrome, Dictionary, Stocks, Apple App & iTunes Store, Movie Night, Gas Buddy, White Pages, Apple maps, google Earth, and many more. The odd thing is that I can access google through Opera Mini, and that works fine. I left the Apple Store convinced that the problem lay with Virgin Wireless, but after a lot of online investigation, I am beginning to think that it may be an iphone problem. Is there anybody out there who can make some sense of what works and what doesn't and diagnose this problem so I can get the phone working back to where it is supposed to?

GPS on iphone 4S

Hello Everyone, I have a question in reference to the iphone 4s GPS.  I'm going to use google maps to find directions between 2 locations (point A to point B) while I'm on Wi-Fi on my iphone 4s. Neither of the locations that I'm finding directions between will be my current location.  When I get to point A I will not have any cellular or data service whatsoever.  My question is if I use google maps (keep it running in the background) when I get to point A will it be able to give me real time movement (the blue dot) when I get to point A so I can use google maps to find my way to point B.  Will the GPS be utilized at the point?  Also if I hit the button on google maps to display my current location will it do that. All help and knowledge will be greatly appreciated.

My iphone 4s not making noise except for when someone calls me an alarm going off or unlocking it.

I have no sound except for my ringtone, alarm, and sometimes the unlocking noise. No text alerts, email alerts, media noise, Pandora noise, iTunes noise, anything. First on my own I restored it to factory settings, cleaned the dock and head jack, did the head phone trick in and out, and I have checked for water damage. I have searched the threads and google for solutions but none have worked. I talked to Apple today and they made me restore it again and it still doesn't work. ^Usually theres a volume bar on videos, none here. ^Theres no thing to slide the sound back and forth here. ^Also no sound bar here.

Mail only working over Cellular no WiFi Networks. iphone 3G

A couple of days ago my Mail service at home stopped working. I only can receive Emails when I switch off WiFi and use my AT&T 4G. At home I am using a whole Apple enviorment and all my devices (iPad mini (6.1.1), iphone 4S (6.1.2), iPad (5.1.1), MacBook Pro (10.8.2)) can not receive Emails. When I am going to iCloud.com I can send and receive mails on my Mac, but over the OS X Mail.app and iOS Mail.app nor receiving nor sending works. I am using several Accounts on all deveices (iCloud, Yahoo!, google and AOL) most of them are not working, only AOL received one mail yesterday. My first thought was of course the WiFi network which might have problems with the Apple Mail program, but I already tried another network with my iphone. In this other network I am getting an error on my iphone which tells me "Cannot get Mail. Connection to server failed." On my Mac at home mail.app tells me that my account are offline and that there might be a problem with iCloud, for more information visit iCloud support etc. Yes I did restart my deveices, yes I tried deleting and adding the mail account, yes I tried restarting the WiFi and yes I did that with iOS and OS X.

I am trying to use a safe web browser on my iphone without having access to unsafe browsers.I have disarmed safari and installed mcgruff (safe browser). The problem I am having is with blocking other apps from being downloaded. I understand the option exists to limit app access to an age level i.e. 4yrs. 7 yrs. 12 yrs. 17 yrs., however, no matter which way i set this I can always install the 'google' app? I would have thought browsers like google would fall into a category of apps people are trying to restrict. Why bother offering the function in the first place??I also realise there is the option to block all apps, however this leaves you with no browser at all... This will be the last resort I guess?

I believe (99%) it is in my house, but I'm not sure. My 'Find My iphone' app says its "offline" because it is dead. It is scyned with my Macbook Air. iOS 6.1 maps doesn t render roads but works in hybrid iphone 3G

After iOS 6.1 updated, it broke maps. Does anyone know how to force reload just maps without wiping the phone and reloading? In standard mode, maps doesn't render any roads at all, but works in hybrid mode. satellite mode works just fine. The bug appears to only affect standard mode on iphone 5 with iOS 6.1.

apple maps and google maps not working on 3GE Cellular Network iphone 3G

I am getting around 8mbps speeds on my (T-Mobile) 3G network on my iphone 5 (A1429)  Browsing internet on safari is very fast as well.  Songs are streaming well on spotify. But the APPLE maps & google maps never load directions (cannot reach server ) they work perfectly fine when on Wi-Fi  I tried all the tweaks in the discussion  "https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1598582?start=30&tstart=0"    NO LUCK Anyone has the same issue or know the fix ?

google chrome missing and I can t reinstall it iphone 3G

I have had google chrome installed on my iphone 4S from the start (also installed on my iPad) but since the upgrade to ios6, my iphone no longer shows the google chrome app although it still appears and can be used on my iPad. When I visit the App Store the google chrome app comes up to view in search but the "free" button is greyed out and I can't click on it. I have settings in my iphone for chrome (like in the notifications) but its like it is no longer on my phone and I can't re-download it. Am I doing something wrong, or does anyone have any suggestions?

iOS 6.1.1 will not let me play music or use maps through car USB port iphone 4S

Since I've updated my iphone 4S to iOS 6.1.1, I can't use my phone to play music or follow directions through my car audio system via USB. The phone recognizes that it is plugged in and charges, but will not play music through the speakers and directions from maps are not read through the speakers like in previous iOS versions.  The way I know it is the iOS instead of the connector is because I tried my sister's 4S on iOS 6.1 and it worked. Her iPod on iOS 6.1 also worked. Please send a fix for this.
