I am trying to download apps. It prompts me for my password as usual, then it tells me to verify my billing info first. I verify it then it says contact support. Any ideas?

Headphone output problems iphone 5

My headphone output just went crazy. The phone restarted when I plugged in the headset and when it came back on it started distorting all the music. It also make a noise which stops about 10 seconds after I stop playing the music. I tried restarting the phone and also installed the latest software update. For me it doesnt seem like a hardware-problem. It's more like a bug in the audio-driver.. Anyone know anything about this?

Strange noise by iphone 5 when shaking

Hey! I've just bought an iPhone5 and started to use it today. After activting and having the first look at it, I came to realize that it gives a really strange noise when I gently shake it. It sounds as if something would not be properly fixed inside the phone. The sound comes from the top of the phone (around the camera part). Im wondering whether anyone else had the same issue with their iPhone5, bacause I have not experienced anything like this with my two previos iPhones. What can cause this sound? Should I just take it back and let them replace it?! Thanks in advance!

Hi, I am new to this forum so i apologise in advance for not following any rules thats set. I have a iphone 5, 16 GB for 6 months and for the past month or so i've been having issues with the microphone.     1. During a call if i want to use loudspeaker the mic cuts out so the person on the other end can not hear what i am saying, yet while during a call off loudspeaker          they can hear me fine.     2. Siri can not detect anything i say or any noise what so ever when i try to use siri, but can when using a headset.     3. When trying to use voice to text in messages no speech is detected. When using a headset under all three of these, they work fine, calling someone works fine aslong as i don't use loudspeaker.i have tried to restore the phone to see if this corrects the problems but no luck. The firmware version is 6.1.4, on EE 4G. Any help with this is appriciated. Tyler.

Official unlocking of iphone 4 from orange Apple approved

Having Paid about £20 for an official unlocking, I am being told to insert a Non-Orange 3G Sim card into the phone that is to be unlocked (Orange is the network the iphone iscurrently locked to).  Well I don't have a Non-Orange 3G Sim Card do I !! Call confirmation without jailbreaking prevent accidental call iphone 3G

I found an app that provides a call confirmation without jailbreaking the phone called "Group Contact." in settings, if you turn 'return to the app after phone call" on, you get the message "you will be alerted before making the call, and the app will be re-opened after the call." Before every call, a call confirmation is delivered, which solves my problem perfectly!

iphone 4 on t-mobile full signal but wont makereceive calls

Please help - My iphone 4 intermittently stops making and receiving calls/texts without warning, the phone will have a full signal and could be anywhere in the country but when you try to make a call it won't do it. If you then ring the phone it is as if it is turned off, if you then turn the phone off then on again it works perfectly well until the next time which might be in days or hours. T -Mobile talked me through a reset but this has not worked and Apple want a fee to help further as the phone is 22 months old, it is however little used and still looks new. Any help appreciated

Ios 6.1.3 Red Eye Correction iphone 5

Today I was taking pictures of my family, and I was using the flash on my phone because the light in the room was very dull. After taking the pictures and looking at them, I noticed the red eye thing that happens when you use flash. I decided to get rid of them with the red eye correction tool in the stock camera app, and after about 15 taps of pressing the red spots on one of the eyes on my cousin, the tool kept making dark spots in the wrong spot each time, and then the photos app just crashes. Um How can I fix this issue? because its persistent with every picture I Do it too.

Updating from OS 4 iphone 4

I have OS 4 and am trying to update; the error message I get says "The required disk cannot be found." Do I need to get OS 5 before making the leap to OS 6? How?

iphone 5 Rear Microphone

Hello, There appears to be an issue with my iphone 5's rear camera microphone. When recording video it causes white noise and I can barely hear any audio at all. To diagnose the fault I phoned myself and put music on. I could hear the music fine without loudspeaker, I then switched on loudspeaker while the screen was facing upwards (to test the front facing mic) and it was fine, once I turned the phone upside down, the audio cut out. To ensure that my desk wasn't just blocking my front facing mic, I switched loudspeaker off and then turned it back to face up, then again to face down and then switched loudspeaker back on. Unfortunately it confirmed that was the fault. I have recorded voice memos and front facing videos with no issue, but when using the rear camera I still have the same fault. I have cleaned out the small opening for the mic and haven't caused my phone any damage, so I can't understand why this would happen? Has anyone else had this issue? Will I have to have my entire phone replaced, the whole rear camera or just the microphone? Are there any fixes I can perform myself? Thanks,Ross

iphone 5 suddenly no sound

I recently had a software update (6.1.4) on my iphone 5.  I ran the update last week and everything seemed fine.  However, as of yesterday my phone no longer made sound, it just stopped making sounds to everything.  It makes no sound when it rings, when I receive a text/email or when I try to listen to music.  The sound is completely dead.  The little switch on the left of the phone is turned on for volume.  I did a reset and nothing seems to help.  Has anyone encountered this problem?  Does anyone have a solution?

iphone 5 Frequently Crashes to Apple Logo and Screen Lock

I have an iphone 5 64 GB running iOS 6.1.4 on AT&T. Over the past ~ three days, have noted that the iphone randomly "crashes".  Could be when I am using an app.  Could be when I am making a phone call.  Could be when it is simply connected to the power cord and haven't touched it at all. The cycle is as follows: Screen suddenly goes blankThe white Apple logo (which typicaly appears during boot-up) appears for 3 - 5 secondsI hear the "chirp" that normally sounds at the end of boot-upThe iphone lock lock screen then appears Sometimes, when the phone emerges from lock screen, the brightness is about half of what it was prior. I have not been able to isolate this behavior to a specific set of circumstances.  When it occurs during a phone call, the call is interrupted / other party is silenced, but if I swipe at lock screen, the call resumes (the other party notes that I went silent during duration). I have re-started / re-booted the iphone 15 times.  I have cleared all apps from the cache.  I have disabled all notifications and location services.  I have done a Reset All Settings on iphone and restored from iCloud.  I have done a Restore from iTunes.  The problem continues. I would say that this crash cycle occurs about every 30 - 60 minutes.  As noted, many times when I'm not even touching / using the iphone. Have also noted that when not connected to power supply, the iphone is quite warm, and battery drain is at an accelerated rate of 3x to 4x of "normal", worse than prior iOS 6 related battery issues.  Have also tried all the usual battery saving tricks - wifi is off, GPS is off, EQ is off, etc. Any thoughts before I head to the Genius Bar? Thanks! TCF

Touch Screen Insensitivity iphone 5

Is anyone having issues with a lack of sensitivity  of iphone 5 screen. I am having to touch items several times to select or scroll the screen, when it does scroll it "jumps" to catch up making it hard to operate smoothly. I Also notice that the screen appears to have shifted up slightly cutting off top of wi-fi and battery symbols. These symptoms don't always happen and I cant be sure I can show them to a Genius. This my 4th iphone, so my expectations are only what I have experienced with the others.

Why did my iphone 5 factory reset

I've had my iphone 5 for a few months, for some reason today, my phone made a beeping noise I've never heard and did a complete factory reset. I thankfully have it set up to back up to icloud. Anyone have any ideas on why or suggestions on what I should do? Thanks!

Battery Life Degraded After Restoring from Jailbreak iphone 4

I recently did a jailbreak on my phone and decided I didn't like it. I restored the phone to Apple factory settings and everything is fine except the battery. It will not hold a charge more than a few hours -- and that's on STANDBY, not actually using the phone or making calls! Is there anything else I need to do to erase all traces of the jailbreak? Or is there anything I can do to improve my battery life? I've already done the following: 1) lowered the screen brightness2) close programs when not in use3) changed auto-lock time to 1 minute (the shortest possible)

iphone 5 camera issues

I'm having issues with the camera on my iphone 5 where it locks up when I try to open the camera app or the screen goes crazy with multi-coloured white noise or a portion of the screen is covered in a purple band usually vertically.Has anyone else had this issue and managed to resolve it.Apple support have said to restore the phone or wait for iOS updates. I've done both and got a new phone and had the same issues. Any help would be great fully received.

Microphone not work iphone 4

Without my knowing it, I recently had my iphone 4 fall out of my jacket. When I came back and found it, it had been out in the rain for 3 hours.  Now, the microphone does not work when making or receiving calls.  The speakerphone microphone at the top works fine, but not the one at the bottom.  I have tried rebooting, too, and nothing seems to work.  Do I need to take it to the Apple store to diagnose and fix?

iphone 5 seizing randomly-unable to be used

I am not the most technically inclined, so please bear with me.  About two months ago, lines began showing up in Safari every now and again. They would go away, so I didn't think too much of it. Then one night, while in a game app, the screen began "flashing" like a strobelight. It couldn't exit the app fully, was blinking half the screen in the app, part of the home screen, etc. You cannot see throught the commotion to use the phone, if the programs can even open. This happened all evening, through the night, and the entire following day. Then it stopped.  It was fine when I took it to the AT&T store (the closest Apple store is 45 minutes away, so I wanted to be sure AT&T couldn't do anything for me) but by opening and closing programs and apps, I was able to force it to act up. Of course when I left the store, it worked fine again.  It was fine for a few days, acting up only a time or two, but I drove 45 minutes to the Apple store. My Genius Bar member told me it was software based and that I should restore the phone, download the software again, and manually add my media back on. After the four+ hours of downloading and 2+ hours of adding media, it was fine again. That was about two weeks ago. Now it's back.  I looked into the diagnostics (what I can see through the noise on the screen) and I have many different errors going on. Googling these errors codes is not providing much information, and again, I am not the best with this stuff.  SO:-Is a latestcrash.plist or mediaserverd.plist the same as a panic.plist code? In turn, if they are, will Apple replace the phone as they supposedly do in the case of panic.plist crashes? -I've noticed a bunch of the issues seem related to audio and video functions on the phone. I have AudioToolbox, CoreFoundation, and CoreQuartz codes, for example. Are these things that would justify a replacement? I am sitting through another 4 hour software download right now in order to restore the phone again, but am afraid to lose that diagnostics info, but also cannot see the screen to send any diagnostics info to Apple. Is this something that is software based? Does that mean I am going to be doing this every few weeks? The phone is only 6 months old, but I don't want to let it go and loet the one year manufacturer's warranty.  I apologize for being so verbose but I really cannot find anything online that sounds similar to what my phone is doing. Any guidance would be much appreciated.

Shaking problem on iphone 5

Error 1611 or 1603 on iphone 5

Hello! I´m soo frustrated right now - it seems i can not get my new iphone 5 to work... I broke the screen my iphone 5 aproximatley 4 mounths ago, and bought a new screen on ebay. I bought this for over 300 dollars, and got a friend to fix it. (and paid him as well) He broke one of the thin wires when he was changing the screen, making the front camera and speaker useless. Except that, the phone worked just fine. Then he bought a new wire, installed that, and i got it back. But now, it wont work! When i start it just a picture of an USB cable towards an itunes brand appear... and i have litterally tried everything. No matter what I do, I can not fix it, or restore it - the error code 1611 or 1603 appears om my mac screen when I connect it to itunes, and I get no further than that. And Ive uptaded all the programs, tried holding in home and of/on-button, go into the "hosts" on my mac (if you dont understand what i ment by that, just ask) Can somebody please help me?  Im cryin here, Ive used so much money on this and it does not work. Whats wrong with it? Ive tried every possible solution that appears on google, NOTHING works. I didn't bought the phone from Apple, but maybe I can send it in to them and I can get a new one? I dont expect that, but Ive would be in heaven

Distortion when playing back audio left and right channels. iphone 4S

Recently, my iphone 4s has been producing distortion in the right channel when playing back music and/or making VOIP calls.  It is now starting on the left channel as well.  making cellular calls is fine (no distortion).  Playing music through the doc connector is fine.  Playing music through bluetooth is fine.  Have I fried my onboard DSP for the onboard audio output devices?  When I record video, audio is unbearably distorted.

Why my iphone 5 camera have dark shadow-type spot on one constant part of screen

There is a shadow type spot in one part of the camera app, that stays on a certain part of the screen when the camera is moved (normal HD camera on back). It then appears in photos. What can I do to fix this? Is a Genius Bar trip the only answer? Thanks!

Hello. on December i purchased my iphone 5 on eBay for about 530. Its under warranty until december 20 2013, not today while charging my iphone at night i noticed my iphone kept charging and uncharging itself, (the beep noise) it keept doing it for quite awhile and i checked up on it.  It has some problems charging, i've never had any problems with it before. Now, i tried hard resetting and rebooting it a bunch of times but when i hard reset (dfu mode) my computer would not recognize it to even restore it. my computer won't even recognizes if the phone is connected.  It's not the cables as i have an iPad 4 and i have 3 cables in total, all original apple products. All cables work perfectly fine with the iPad but not with the iphone, so i'm geussing something is wrong with my iphone.  How can i get my iphone replaced or fixed?  I've only been in the apple store to check out products but never spoken to any of the customer support.   what questions will i get asked?  Do i gotta make an appointment or can i just walk into a local apple store and bring in my device and box.  what will i need?      It's my first time trying to replace or fix my iphone so i need help. Help a fellow apple user.

iphone 4 stuck in Apple logo screen

I have an iphone 4, that I had to replace the LCD, power switch - proximity sensor cable, and home button on. After I had made the repairs (after making sure everything was reassembled correctly) I then proceeded to turn the device on.Now it will only display the Apple logo at startup.When I turn the phone off (via the Home + Sleep/wake method) it will sometimes revert back to the Apple logo screen. I have reset the phone (gone through recovery mode) at least 5 times to correct the issue, yet it still is not working correctly.The only software change that had been made to it, was that I had updated it to the most recent version of iOS. And that was approx. 2 weeks before the issues with the phone.Is there another solution to fixing this phone, or is it basically done? (If I can, I really need to get this phone fixed (if at all possible).Thank-you.

cant see my LCD but can use my phone iphone 4S

so this weekend i was on the my iphone 4s making a call then i pu tmy phone down i picked it up a few minutes later to check the time and i cant see my screen anymore its either just black or it flashes white and has lines through it i didnt drop my phone so theres no outer damage at all i can still use the digitizer and everything works fine it just seems the lcd has stopped working ive tried hard restart restoring my phone to factory settings and everythign else i could think of but nothing works i have a repair request set up waiting for apple to send me the packaging to mail them my phone just wondering if the apple one year warranty covers lcd failure as it was not my fault and i just bought the phone brand new 2 months ago

Loose and cracked home button on iphone 5

So I've had my iphone 5 for a few months now and today I noticed that there is a small crack on the home button within the little white square. Also perhaps as a result of this the button feels somewhat loose and makes a clicking noise when I touch the button without actually pressing it. I have previously dropped my phone but that was a while back and it was fine then. It still functions properly but after comparing it with my brothers iphone 5 there's is definitely a noticeable difference with the home button as mine has sunk in a bit and doesn't sit flush with the housing. It's obviously still within warranty and I don't want to pay for a replacement so will Apple repair the home button if I take it to them?

My charger hasn't suddenly stopped working. I've tried charging via my laptop as well and no luck. The ac adaptor is also making a strange buzzing noise when I remove it from the socket. Has anyone else experienced similar problems? Or know of any quick fix?

Focal distance camera iphone 4

Hi everyone, I am making a science project about the iphone and I was wondering what the focal length is for it's camera.

Intermittently when making calls with my iphone 5 person answering would complain they can barely hear me. It not help to manually try and adjust volume. Doesn't happen when connected to my btooth car kit. Sometimes no problem at all

Transfer photos back and forth to OS X WITHOUT iPhoto or iTunes iphone 3G

I googled to no end, searched Apple support forums endlessly and you know what? Not a single simple answer can seem to be given without being redirected to something that simply does not answer THIS very specific question. Is it, or is it not possible to quickly transfer photos DIRECTLY *FROM* and *INTO* the Camera Roll WITHOUT iTunes or iPhoto? Simple question yes? lol. NOPE. Reason why I ask can be simply described in short: iTunes 11.0.2, running iphone iOS 6.1; Clicking "Photos" from my iphone via iTunes, gives me ONE single option; "Sync photos from". Tried keeping it real simple. Make a folder on the desktop called iphone Photos just for quickly transfering photos back and forth and chose to synch from that. 18 photos to test. Just crap from the internet. Nothing major. Know what it does? For one, it takes 3 minutes or so to sync 18 whole photos, which is stupid but whatever. But here's the BEST part, none get sent to my Camera Roll, oh no, it makes TWO entirely new folders under it in my iphone. One being the one I made on my desktop, and the other is called Photo Library, and get this, BOTH of these have the same 18 pictures lmao. Yup. Why? Oh who cares at this point. I really just do not care. Apple. All that needs to be said. And as for iPhoto. It's just an unnecessary useless program I have no intentions of ever needing. Why? I keep a crap load of various types of photos in organized folders in my Finder, and iPhoto likes making sure it takes 3x longer to do that. It really just does.  Now back on point. What happened to the good old friggin days when all you had to do was DRAG AND DROP?!?!?! I legitimately am getting cancer from pondering this question.  Is there not a way to simply drag from Camera Roll somehow to the iMac, like say a specified folder. And Vice Versa from the iMac straight to Camera Roll? A nice workaround to get FROM Camera Roll TO iMac specified folder is "Image Capture" which does exactly just THAT. Quickly and painlessly transfer STRAIGHT FROM AND TO wherever. This is ridiculous. At this point, I'd pay 50 bucks for a simple app to quickly drag and drop from and to Camera Roll and bam. Done.  Sorry for the book, but this is getting ******** trying to get an answer to this and thought I would deem it necessary to be as descriptive as humanly possible.  Looking for simple answers if possible, but at least descriptive. Thanks.

looking for help with handsfrree link and iphone 5 running OS6

I have a new I phone 5 running latest version of OS6. Since I purchased the phone. I have not been able to recieve calls through my bluetooth on my Handsfree link in my 2012 Acura TSX. I was having intermittent problems with the iphone 4. I can link the phone ok, but when I get a call, I can hear the caller fine, but apparently all they hear is noise like a vacuum cleaner. I thought it was my system, but Acura says it is the Phone and that Apple is aware of the problem. Does anyone know if Apple is going to fix this? Basically you can't use the phone in the car!

Hello, my iphone started acting weird two days ago. Whenever I plug it in to a wall charger and my computer, it makes the little noise that alets me it's plugged in, but it won't charge. It is detected on iTunes on my Macbook but again. it won't charge. It also says something about it can't be charged with this accessory. Any Ideas? Yes I've tried different cables.

iphone 5 eBay and certain websites won't work unless on WiFi.

As the subject says, my iphone 5 software 6.1.3 has been acting weird, beyond a constant battery drain, recently I have noticed that my eBay app will not work/connect unless I am on WiFi.  It's also the same for some websites on Safari, one being www.tfw2005.com (a transformers fan site I always go to).  I just noticed this the other day.  I've tried resetting my networking settings, hard-reset, deleting the app and reinstalling and nothing.  I'm not sure why it would single out that one website either.  I get the N1 error can't connect after trying to use the eBay app and TFW site.  Any suggestions?

I am having issues sending pictures from my camera roll to an email.I have rebooted the phone. I can send pics thru the camera roll to facebook, or a message , but when i try to send it to an email, i do everything i am suppose to , i dont hear the swish noise, but i see the page change so i assume it sent, but when i go to look, there is no sign of an email...Please HELP..

iphone 5 Siri quit detecting soundsvoices 6.1.3

I'm not sure what's going on but after I updated my OS to 6.1.3 Siri hasn't been able to detect a voice signal (the pic of the mic doesnt even fluctuate like it hears noise). Voice to text also doesn't work. I have restarted it and when that didnt work I restored to factory settings. Is there a known issue with this? I have tried everything even made test calls while speaking very quietly and have had zero issues with being heard. I'm leaning tword a software issue because the mic works fine for calls and my phone is perfect... Anyone else having an issue or know of a fix?

Volume bar disappeared iphone 4S

My volume bar disappears when I remove the headphone jack from it, making it unable for me to play music/videos without my headphones. I have cleaned out the proper places and I have even reset my phone (I did not hard reset it, I only reset all of its settings). I don't know how else I am supposed to fix this problem unless I have to go to an Apple store... which I hope isn't the case as I live about three hours away from the closet one.

I'm getting a black iphone 5 tomorrow and I know about scuffgate. Tomorrow when I get the iphone I want to protect it immediately. I'm thinking about getting the spigen Screen & Body Protector Incredible Shield for the phone. It also has a film set for the sides of the phone but doesn't protect the chamfered edges. Would it still be a problem because i don't want the coating to start coming off. I'm making this thread because I don't want a case for the iphone I want it naked like a lot of people do.
