I had my old 4S stolen (it was pass-protected, and I wiped it with FindMyiPhone within 12 hours). I got a new one and had the data restored from iCloud. However, it has been a week and it is telling me that it is still being restored, and that it hasn't backed-up yet since the restoration isn't complete. I charge it every night in room with a strong wifi signal. What do i need to do to get this restoration to finish? I can't see anything that still needs to be restored. Is it just caught in a loop somewhere?
When my AT&T iphone 5 goes to a low signal zone, or an EDGE zone, such as a friends basement, my girlfriends house, or an elevator, it switches to EDGE, but when I go to a good signal area, it stays on EDGE for a while (at least an hour), or until I shut off the antennas using airplane mode or restarting the phone. Sometimes it also affects Wi-Fi, and when the phone connects to Wi-Fi it gets no data on some apps, until I reset the connection using airplane mode. I want to know once and for all if this is a known hardware or software issue, if I should try to get the phone replaced (which I've had since October), or I should just deal with it as a new phone will not help. I've tried reinstalling iOS, resetting network connections, and DFU restore.
my iphone 5 starting acting up lately. i am online but there is no wifi icon on top. when i checked the speed of my router, macbkpro will register 3mbps., ipad2 will register 2.3mbps and my iphone 5 will have a measly .35mbps. taking into consideration that my ipad 2 has the wifi issues because of ios6 which was much discussed here in the forum. i have mentioned before that before ios6, my ipad has better signal than my iphone. but after ios 6, iphone5 showed better signal with the same set of circumstances of the router. 3g signal is very good but there is frequent failure or delay in sending text messages and frequent dropped or choppy signal of phone calls.what is wrong with my phone. should i have it exchanged?
recently i had to have my mac hard drive reset the 0 1 code needed to be rewritten. i lost everything that was on my computer. when i want to plug my phone into my mac now it tells me i need to erase everything on the phone. how do i back up my iphone and still be able to use itunes with out losing everything
Someone tried to access my online account the first day I got my phones. The carrier texted me. I rcvd snail mail that they tried to access it again and were given a temp password. I have blocked all access to my online account- I can't even access it. My phone is now burning hot, and under Diagnostics and usage, the dates are out of order and they look suspicious- I see words like apple user ID, daemon, etc. Please help! My ex keeps getting in all my info, accounts, emails.. I got the iphone 5 about 6 months ago and have had wifi reception problems the entire time. I spend most of my time in my entertainment room (studio) which is on the opposite end of the house from the router. I have an imac, an apple tv2, an ipad, and (2) iphone 4 all using the same wifi and housed in this same room. They all have no problem picking up the signal and staying connected. My wife and her son both have iphone 4S and never lose connection when they are in my room. It's very frustrating because I was so excited about being able to mirror my phone through the apple tv and hd tv. I own an AT&T iphone 4 and a Verizon iphone 4 that aren't capable of mirroring. I have the original ipad which isn't capable of mirroring. My wife's 4S and her son's 4S are both capable and do it with ease but it's their phones, not mine. So I stayed patient knowing I would get the next upgrade and it was just a matter of time. Wrong. Between 5 phones, a desktop, a tablet, apple tv, PS3......My iphone 5 was the only one that won't connect. I am not talking about it loses the signal or cuts in and out, I am saying you have to walk halfway down the hall to even get it to detect the signal in the first place. Not a chance in **** of it actually staying connected to it. I talked to Apple Support about the problem and asked if the iphone 5 had a weaker antenna or if there was a setting that needed to be adjusted. They were polite to me but in so many words let me know that my assessment was ridiculous and news to them. Well okay, no big deal, I just chalked it up as that maybe I got a dud this time as far as the antenna goes. Then, about a week ago, I dropped the phone and shattered the front glass and lcd. Luckily I had insurance and was able to get a brand new replacement. The problem is the antenna reception is exactly the same. So this was not an isolated incident and I wasn't crazy for asking about it. I don't see how they haven't received tons of complaints about this issue. I love Apple products and probably just expect perfection because I have never had any major problems with any of my Apple devices. But it is an unpleasant surprise that the newer model takes several steps back on such an important feature. Sorry for the rant and I remain positive that this issue can be addressed, if it hasn't already. P.S.....The iphone 5 that I got two days ago has an awesome new feature. If you are using the phone for an actual phone call, the person you are talking to can't be heard whatsoever. If you can get them to talk really loudly and repeat themselves at least three times, you will have a greater chance of comprehending the purpose of the call.
I have an iphone 4s ( ios 6.1.3 ). My wifi signal was very weak, but now, it doesn't even turn on. The on-of switcher is freezed and can't be turned on. PLEASE HELP IT'S SO FRUSTRATING!
Hello I have done a little research and this appears to be a network wide issue with Data sims on the B-Mobile network. The iphone does not correctly calculate the strength of the network and thinks it has no signal (even if you really have full signal) and powers the radios up to max impacting the battery life of the iphone greatly. I believe this to be because the SIM cannot work as a phone at all the iphone does not realise this even though the data connection is perfect. If you go into field test mode it seems to read the signal correctly. Here are some photos showing what is happening. No Bars: http://www.mediafire.com/convkey/c9e4/4jct9p7q54izmq1fg.jpg?size_id=8Field test: http://www.mediafire.com/convkey/aa41/6bn6m47vm4prc9yfg.jpg?size_id=8
Hi all, i will list my problems and see what you all think,,,,, i have a iphone 4s on vodafone running 6.1.3 firmware, for the first 11/12mths i would say this phone was faultless ( taking around 200 calls a day), recently the phone refuses to make calls and send txt messages, it wont even connect to the internet using 3g, it has to have wirelesss connectivity for the browsers to work. i took it to the local vodafone shop and they insisted it was the sim card at fault, even though i did try it in my other phone (nokia E50-2), so i took the replacement sim anyway. checks already done:- i have taken my vodafone contract sim from the iphone and placed it in the nokia, it works fine sending and recieving both calls and txti have taken my vodafone PAYG sim out of the nokia and placed it in the iphone, it refused to work but worked fine in the nokiai have reset the network settings, i have deleted all apps from the iphone and done a full restore, but it still refuses to workit shows full signal strength all the time where i live, as does the nokia, if i try to call it from the nokia it tells me the phone is not available even though they are sat side by side with full signal, if i try to call the nokia it comes back called failed.i have tried to send a txt message to my own phone number only for it to come back failed, yet in the nokia it sends no problem.vodafone refuse to admit it is a problem with there network and it is an iphone issue, the phone is now 13mths old and out of warranty (typical), i requested the iphone be unlocked from vodafone to check other networks, this has now been done so i put a spare O2 sim in the iphone and it sends and recieves both calls and text with no issues, yet vodafone still say it is not a network problem!!!!!!! is anyone else having similar problems to mine??? or is it something wrong with the phone???? i personnaly think when the phone was updated to the 6.1.3 firmware it has a problem with vodafone, plese tell me what you think, i am going crazy with this phone, cant believe its not kissed the wall or other hard surface yet.
My Notification Center isn't showing anything. When my phone is locked, it doesn't show when I get a text. Only when I open my phone do I see that I have multiple texts, but it never vibrated for them. I went to my settings, and went under Notification Center, and it just shows the little "loading" symbol, but it won't open up the settings. When I swipe down my Notification Center, it only says "No New Notifications". I can't figure out why it's doing this. Could it be because I don't have good signal or something? I can't turn my phone off and back on because for some reason my button won't work. Someone please help!
Hello, my wife's iphone 4S seems to be losing its mind. It will show 60% battery then less than an hour later its down to 1%. Now, ordinarily I would say this is just a battery incapable of holding a charge, but it seems like this might be something else. When we plug the phone in, it almost instantly will jump to 20-30% charged. We've tried doing a full wipe/restore through iTunes, but that resulted in no changes. I'd take it to the Apple Store and ask for a battery repair (really, just a swap for a different refurb I assume) and pay the $80. However, looking online it sounds like Apple wont do this for any phones showing signs of damage. This makes sense, since they dont want people just swapping out busted phones for pristine refurbs. Well, the wife's phone has a single hairline crack in the front glass. It happened shortly after purchase and has never impacted performance. We didnt have the foresight to purchase accidental damage protection coverage... Its a small crack and my wife didnt want to hassle with trying to send it in for repair. Sure wish we had now... Not sure what to do at this point. Suggestions? Thanks Eric
Kind Attention Mr. Jonathan Ive and Team , I bought my iphone 5 with mobile carrier in singapore last december . Earlier I used iphone 4/4s /Ipad and now I phone 5 . I am big addict of apple products , so i went for iphone 5 iphone 4s design was amazing with a glassy feel and no chances of scratches on to its design . But I dont feel the same in iphone 5 I am a Mechancial Design Engineer - Design is basically to relate with Customer User Interface and easeness . But day -day usage of my iphone 5 is frustrating because the No of white scractches to its side is going on increasing . Am i suppose to use case always ? in that case I would have gone for some low end mobiles where nothing happen even i put it down many times . I keep it so safe and now I am in a big frustration on getting iphone 5 . very bad feel like losing value of money I kindly request Mr.Johnathan Ive and concern Manufacturing dept to revert me on my issue . can i get a free bumper case ? i lose signal alot and i heard they help.
Just bought a brand new iphone 5 from Rogers (Canada) in December. For the month that I've had it I've had MAJOR problems with this device. I've had no major problems with my iphone 3G and iphone 4S, by the way.- Incoming calls get randomly dropped. No "busy signal", the line simply drops dead for whoever tries to call me. It doesn't even alert me that someone tried to call me. I'll only find out later if that person attempts to call again. But what if it's an important call and the person doesn't try calling again? Then I'm screwed. I've tested this by calling my iphone 5 from another cellphone by holding each phone in one hand. Out of 20 calls, at least 4-5 calls are dropped- Touch screen irresponsive- Very weak signal (on my 3G and 4S the signal bar is usually completely full or one bar from full, on my iphone 5 it's almost always only half full or less), the signal drops randomly outside (especially when I'm driving, the signal will just poof)I've already exchanged the phone TWICE. First time they exchanged it without question. Second time they told me it could be a carrier issue then told me to reset, restore, etc etc, then gave me a new one again. I'm on my third one, none of these problems are fixed. What are the chances I got 3 defective phones in a row? Seriously what is going on here? I've installed pretty much nothing on this phone except Facebook, Twitter, and Skype. Yes I've resetted and restore like N times, and I'm on latest firmware. What should I do? I don't even know if it's a Rogers problem or I've just had the worst luck in the world with 3 defective phones in a row, because none of the customer service people are able to tell me exactly what in the world is going on.
My iphone 5 is not reading my sim card.. It keeps saying out of service, I have tried to reset my settings and even bought a new sim card but it is still not working. Yesterday it read it for a few minutes and then starting losing signal and then it just went out and now it stays on No Service.. I dont want to buy a new phone i really like my iphone 5. Can anyone help me out with how i can fix this please?? The problem is i dont have any of my papers for the warranty either and it is supose to be covered until 2014.
Hello.i unlocked my iphone 3G and I'm even getting a full signal bar but I can't even make a emergency call or a normal call.cqn anyone please tell me the solution?
So basically my iphone struggles to connect to any wifi; this started happening 2 weekends ago. I used to be able to find other wifis like mine ,BTfon, virgin, etc and other peoples too, now it struggles to connect to or find my own one at home, so what i did was changed the sky channel to 11 ( if youre sky broadband then 11 its the best channel just saying) my connection is a bit better now to my broadband but when i go upstairs my wifi is really low and sometimes i end up by losing it and i still can find others, do you think it might be cos of the antena ?
I purchased my iphone 2 weeks ago and it has caused me major problems. I have no signal connectivity at home and intermittent signal connectivity everywhere else. I have complained too my carrier and they cannot fix the problem as the problem seems to be apple. I have restored the software on my phone many times, I have reset network settings, I have played around with the aeroplane setting, the only thing that seems to help a bit is if I turn 3G off ??? Nobody can tell me why this helps?I have a Genius Bar appointment with an apple store this Saturday and I hope they sort this problem out as this issue is seriously affecting my business..... Does anyone know why I'm having the above issues ?
About 4 months ago, my Apple store kindly replaced my cracked iphone with a new one. the problem is, this new iphone has some issues. It worked fine until after about a month when the phone ran out of battery and when i charged it i discovered the wifi "on/off" button was "greyed out" as people refer to it as being. I serched for hours and tried many solutions to no luck. I then contacted Apple support and the person still didnt know how to fix it. this is a big issue because there are many things i need wifi for most importantly being the ICloud back up. Anyways, i accedentally let the battery drain and the wifi option was back! i quickly backed up my phone and i thought that was a one time thing. however, the phone wasnt picking up any signal from my home wifi so i turned off the phone and turned it back on (seeing if it would hopefully come back on) only to find the wifi was "greyed out" again. this time i did everything and it didint work until about last week. last week the wifi lasted for one day and now it doesnt pick any wifi signal from anything or anywhere. tried connecting it to itunes to see if anything wuld happen and a pop-up told me that my iphone doesnt work on itunes.. it also told me to restore it but i dont want to restore it in case the wifi greys out again..... ...here is the main problem i guess haha... how can i back up my current phone if i cannot get wifi to pick up.I am going to go to the Apple store sometime soon and i should have my back up ready for when i get the newly working phone. but i cant back up without wifi and im hesitant to turn off the phone because i dont want it to grey out again becuase i wouldnt know how to get it working again. Or should i not worry about backing it up but just focus on getting the new phone and just use the last back up from about a month and a half ago. Thank you for reading. any advice would be appreciated. sorry for this post being so everywhere also lol
My iphone 5 is losing connection with bluetooth in 2013 ford f-150 SYNC system. It is then necessary to reset the truck radio and add phone again before bluetooth works. It usually will work for a couple days before losing connectivity. Ford dealership says it it is a bug in the phone ??
I've just upgraded to iphone 5 in regional Western Australia. My iphone 4 (not 4S) used to get three bars in my cradle at work and four bars in my cradle at home. Now I only ever get one bar and my calls are dropping and full of distortion and my customers are always saying that it's all static. Should my iphone 5 have poorer reception than my old iphone 4 or should I be asking for a replacement phone?
My iphone 5 gives me a 3/5 on the signal scale but my other phone says it is 3/4 on the scale from the same provider. That probably is not so much of a problem but the thing is my iphone tend to lose the signal more often when my other phone doesn't. Does it mean that something is wrong with my iphone or my other phone just have a better antena than what iphone have? Please advise. Thanks,
After having some problems on ios 6.1.3 with lossing signal and now after updating to 6.1.4 the signal alwayes under tow bars ... It is never got full signal .. !!!
I lose all sounds after my phone has been on charge during the night, the alarm will be going off, but no sound. No click sounds from any buttons, the only way to get them back is to reboot, anyone else having this issue?
Okay so I am using the iphone five on AT&T, When I am in a LTE area, sometimes it will drop the LTE and default to 4G, Meanwhile my second phone I carry which is an android phone that is LTE will not drop the signal ever. To get the iphone to switch back to LTE I have to toggle airplane mode on and off then it will work fine. If I do nothing and leave the particular area to go to a much stronger LTE signal area It can take quite a while before it will switch to LTE in the strong signal area. I've done several restores, installed minimal apps, so I don't know if it's a software issue or not. My android phone has no issues with switching from LTE to 4G, it's flawless, so the iphone has me concerned, should I exchange it for a new one or is this normal for the iphone, I really hate to give up my iphone for a refurbished one at the Apple Store.
i keep losing my apps except for the stock apple apps the only way i can get them back is by restoring my phone then doing a icloud restore can somebody tell me whats going on please
It seems Facebook.ipa app is the worst CPU hog! The iphone 5's battery is drained rather quickly and the phone gets warm with just simple browsing. System monitoring apps report only 0-50% idle CPU time when Facebook is active while most other apps use considerable less resources. Using Facebook via Safari seems to behave better. Is this just the way it is? Are there any settings to fix this? thanks,
Had the iphone 5 for a couple of months and today I had problems receiving/sending text messages and calls. email is fine. I have tried the usual i.e. power down, remove/reseat sim, reset network connections, sync itunes, changing networks.I have contacted my carrier and they tried everything I tried but still no joy. The signal is good but the calls fail and when someone phones me goes straight to voicemail..
I can use my iphone 4 perfectly at home when connected to wifi but when I am awy from home and new to use 3G it says that I have a signal and I can text and call however I can't go on things such as twitter instagram and safari. Thanks for an help!
This morning I dropped my iphone 4s in water and got it out rather quickly. I put the iphone in rice to dry it out, and it seemed to be working just fine. Later on in the day my signal dropped. Everything else on my iphone is working perfectly except for the signal. It constantly says "searching" but never actually finds anything. So trying to fix it I thought I should restart my phone to factory settings to see if that'll work and while trying to do so I got hit with the "Error (-1)" message and it wont continue the restoration. Is there a way to fix this? **Also, with the signal problem, I tried a new sim card, tried turning it off and on and a hard restart but that didn't help either.**
iphone 5 that I've had for less than a year seems to have horrible battery life. I'm mainly on wifi all day long with very strong signal. Most of my 8-10 hr day is occassionally checking my hotmail or exchange email. My Time since last charge currently at 43%: usage is 3hrs and 34 minutes, and standby time of 9 hours and 35 minutes. The strangest issue I'm having is when I record video. I'll usually record 2-3GB worth of video (over 8-10 videos) in a day depending on what I'm uploading to youtube. I'll record a bunch of video, and look at the battery life. It will drop down to 2-3% after recording, and sometimes even shut the phone all the way off. Press the power button and it blinks at you to plug it in. I'll go plug it in, and when it powers back on, it will be anywhere from 20-50% power (1 minute after plugging it in). Yesterday it was down to 3%, so I powered it off, then back on again, and it jumped back up to 54% I've done a wipe and reset to factory and restore from iCloud and that doesn't seem to have done much. I've drained the battery all the way dead, and let it recharge fully mulitple times, no help their either. I'm using the factory iphone charging cable and wall charger. Has anyone seen this before? Do I have a faulty battery? I've recorded hundreds of videos with my iphone 4 and never had issues with excessive drain while recording, and the same on my wife's 4S..Thanks
Hello. So when I got my iphone 5 I had a 2.4ghz linksys router and I thought the router was messing up dropping the connection a few times a day so I bought a Netgear dual band which in return worked pretty well. Now for some circumstances I had to move for a while to an apartment and the router there is a netgear 2.4ghz and it worked fine since I was very close to the router but then I moved rooms and I would get 2 bars BUT the conection would be super slow, it barely loaded web pages. So I didn't notice this but whenever something heavy was to be loaded, it dropped the wifi connection and used the LTE data. Before you know it, after a day of watching netflix, I had used about 2gb of data. what the frick??? So I decided to test out my iphone 5 vs my iPad 3 and the results were: iphone 5 and iPad 3 did well in 5ghz band, near and far, but iphone 5 was significantly slower iphone 5 did well in 2.4ghz band, near, but still significantly slower than the iPad 3 near the router.iphone 5 was slow in 2 bars and dropped connection to LTE in 2.4ghz band, far from the router. so my conclusion was that maybe my wifi chip is faulty which is why i'm getting very poor signal and connection. the worst part is it drops my wifi connection and connects to LTE and eats up my data. Turning off cellular data seems to get rid of that issue, but nothing fixes the slow internet while having 2 bars on 2.4ghz. will they replace my iphone if I take it to an Apple Store?would it help that the screen seems to be ungluing from the bottom? i press on it and it makes a clicking sound when before it didn't use to.
iphone 4s struggles to hold connection, have to manually select service when signal is lost, though it detects this known connection but fails to re-connect automatically. What does "renew lease" do for me and do running apps help secure wifi connection or weaken it? Thanks
Hello, I was updating my iphone 5 and iOS, when my iphone took off and went into "recovery mode" ... I've tried turning it off and put it on, but it is still in the state. Now it seems to be that I need to reset the mobile phone, which means that all of my pictures and videos and messages disappear? Which I absolutely do not want to be the hit ... how should I do? I certainly do not want to get rid of the pictures ... Thanks in advance.
hi i have a unlocked iphone 5 uk i have had a o2 sim and a t mobile sim in the phone previously, recently i restored to ios 6.1.4 and put a three sim in the iphone at the set up progress language>country>etc it shows my phone has signal with the bars shown and the 3G signal comes on as well (surely this shows the sim has been recognized) but at activation it says 'this iphone is not currently setup to work with the carrier youre attempting to use. please insert another sim card from a supported carrier or request that this iphone be unlocked' what the??!!?!? im sure you used to be able to set up through itunes until a sim card arrives when plugged into itunes it says the same message ive tried it through wifi no luck and ive tried it through mobile data (again showing that the sim has been recognized) any help????
My iphone 4 is not recognising any apple chargers/docks and is saying charging is not allowed with this accessory. My phone has since run out of battery and is still not recognising any charging appliances I have. im losing my mind can any one advise? Thanks!
My iphone 5 is starting to heat up while in my pocket and while not being used at all whereas the battery now last for no more than 5 hours. Is this a common problem, can it be fixed or is my iphone 5 faulty? Many thanks in advance for any advice.
I have just picked up on a 'thing' with the video playback on the iphone 5. It seems that dynamic range compression and/or EQ is applied to the soundtrack of videos. I first noticed it when I was trying to watch a few concert films and noticed that not only was the sound horrendous but during the high volume scenes, it was distorting. I have tested the same movies on an iphone 4, iphone 3GS and iPad which don't seem to have this problem/feature. Has anyone else noticed it? And even better yet, figured out a way to get rid of it? Additional thoughts: I have also noticed that when you play music through the loudspeaker, some form of dynamic range compression is also applied to the sound. Personally I think it sounds terrible but I can understand why Apple would have done this. However, it doesn't affect the headphone output signal, thank goodness, SO, I speculate that it could be a bug that when a video is played, the OS isn't recognising that the headphones are no longer a loudspeaker and not bypassing the audio signal, therefore applying the compression to the sound. Playing the video audio through Bluetooth headphones removes the compression and distortion of the sound track in videos, and that would have been the solution, but now videos no longer play in sync with audio through Bluetooth on the iphone 5. (Grr.) Last thing, the new EQ 'Late Night' that adds compression and EQs the sound in the Music app and sounds possibly like the effect that is being applied to video audio output.
Ok so here's the deal. At work I barely get one bar on our wireless network, but at home I of course have full signal. At work I turn off the wifi because at that weak of a signal, it takes forever to send email or a picture on my phone. So I switch to the cellular network, and bam it goes fast. But then when I get home I want it on the WiFi and keep forgetting to turn it on. So my question is (without Jailbreaking) hasn't someone come up with an app that will set timers for wifi to turn on and off? That seems like one that should have been out in the first year of Apps?
I recently replaced my iphone screen and afterwards I discovered that my camera roll had crashed. With it, I lost all of my pictures and videos. Luckily, I recovered them from a program that I had downloaded. However, the storage that used to take up my photos and videos on my phone had transfered to the "other" section on itunes. Is the only way to remove/decrease the storage of the "other" file by restoring your iphone? I don't want to restore my iphone because I am also having issues with backing up my phone. Whenever I try to back it up on itunes, it says "the backup was corrupt or not compatable with the iphone". My phone has never been backed up because of this issue, so if I were to restore my phone then all off my files would be deleted. I have tried reseting my phone, but the "other" section is unchanged. Is there anyway I can delete the corrupt files on my phone? I have tried removing all pictures, videos, apps, and music in an attempt to discover the source of the corrupt files but I haven't found them. Also, if I was to "restore backup" with my iphone from my ipad, would that mean losing my messages?
Please help - My iphone 4 intermittently stops making and receiving calls/texts without warning, the phone will have a full signal and could be anywhere in the country but when you try to make a call it won't do it. If you then ring the phone it is as if it is turned off, if you then turn the phone off then on again it works perfectly well until the next time which might be in days or hours. T -Mobile talked me through a reset but this has not worked and Apple want a fee to help further as the phone is 22 months old, it is however little used and still looks new. Any help appreciated
I have an iphone 5 and I love it. It can do so many great things, all except for one. The battery will lose about 20-30% charge when left idle for a while. For example: when I go to sleep at night, my charge is 50%. When I wake up, it is down to 31%. Is there a way to correct this issue besides closing all active apps?
My iphone 5 recently started having problems with the ringer. The ringer will be turned all the way up, the mute button is NOT being used and the phone will not ring for calls or alert for texts. It is not always happening, but more so than not. I have tried rebooting the phone, the OIS is up to date and I do not have the "Do Not Disturb" set. I can be in the same spot with LTE and full signal have a call/text that is missed then receive a call/text and it rings. Does not seem to matter if the call is coming from a land line, same Verizon carrier cell or different carrier cell there is no noticable reason. Any ideas???
Hi All, I just upgraded my iphone 5 to IOS 6.1.4. Afterwhich i realize the performance motion of sliding from page to page, app opening and minimizing... seems to have dropped. Did anyone experience the same effect? I wish to revert back to 6.1.3, any guide on how to achieve this without losing any data or app installed? Appreciate any help. Thanks.
Hi, I am hoping someone can help me as my wife's iphone completely froze up after synching with the latest version of iTunes. In the end, the only thing she could do was re-set the iphone, thereby of course losing everything. Reconnecting to her laptop restored music and most apps, it seems she has to re-download the other apps again direct to the phone. Now the problem is images. There is an ipod cache directory on the laptop Pictures directory, and in this are folders labelled F00, F01 etc.. and a "Photo Database" file. In each of the Fnn directories is a series of files, called Txxx.ithmb, each of which is about 1,500KB. Doing a backup from the laptop indicates there are about 2900 files overall.Altogether there is about 3GB in this folder, so it looks to be a lot of space. Pointing iTunes to the directory containing all this and synching, still results in zero images being found. She went to the local Apple store for help, to be told these are not the images, but then elsewhere I have read that these are the full files, and this proprietary format contains three different resolution images. If the images taken on the iphone are not here, where are they? Finally, how on earth do we convince iTunes to recognize these files and imporrt them again? Sorry to be thick but losing everything thanks to the latest iTunes was rather catastrophic! Any help/ideas/suggestions greatfully received... The photo files were a mix of photos taken on the iphone and images previously uploaded from the laptop. Cheers Chipontheroad
So a nasty smash destroyed both Front & Back of my iphone 4, and since having them replaced the Wifi signal has been really weak. I have seen other posts about screen replacement having to be done by going through the antenna, so something could be missing, or done incorrectly during the screen repair. Will definately be taking it back to the shop and finding out if It was put back together properly. In the meantime I was wondering if it is possible to share my Macbook Pro's Wifi (always full signal in my house) directly to my iphone either using USB cable or through bluetooth. It's not been too much of a problem but it would be nice to use my iphone in bedroom using the Macbooks good signal. Note: The replacement front screen on iphone has a small gap >1mm between the screen and centre metal casing on the left side just above the Silent/Loud Switch, which can be noticed by light leaking through the gap. The metal casing also still has a small dent between the volume down buttons and silent/loud switch, again nothing drastic 1mm maximum
Lately I've been turning off my phone and when I turn it back on battery is drained. Yesterday I turned it off at 80% and when I turned it back on 3 hours later it was at 62%. Then today I turned it off at 50% and when I turned it back on it was at 32%! Does anyone know why my iphone is losing battery even when it's completely powered off? I feel like it shouldn't be losing any battery at all
