Should I get iphone 5 containing 16gb or 32gb Or should I wait for newer version of iphone to come out

I'm planning on buying the iphone 5 because I have an upgrade available. I have never owned an iphone before, but I do have an 2gn ipod which has 8 gbs and has 2 apps and have used 5.5 of my 6.84 gbs available with songs(1175 songs). I have also have 30 photos, and have 1.5 gbs left to fill. If I do get the iphone 5 I will not put music on it, because I have my ipod. I would like to have a lot of apps though, because I like to test them out, and give reviews on them. I have a fair amount of photos in my current phone(around 400), but the camera quality is not that good, and I think because the iphone 5 have a lot more gbs than my current one that I will want to take more than I usually do(although I would probably upload them onto my computer and delete the originals off my phone). I don't have that many contacts and I have a tablet where I play my games and movies on, so that is not an issue. I know this is a bit long but I really want to make the right choice because I plan on having this phone until my next upgrade which is in 2 years. I want to know if 16gbs should be enough or if should I go with the 32gbs? OR if I should just wait for the newer version to come out, and if this is worth to buy. I would also would like to know what the perks and downsides are too. Thank you for your patience and time.

built in speaker on my iphone 5 sounding grainy and scratchy. have fix

So last night I was talking via speaker phone and suddenly noticed that the sound quality was horrible.  It was extremely grainy and scratchy sounding.  At first I thought it was just something with the call quality so I turned off the speaker and talked on the phone normally.  Later I got an e-mail and noticed that the tone that it made also sounded scratchy.  So I tried playing a song through the iphone speaker and sure enough that was awful too.   I know it's the internal speaker because the music played fine through headphones.  Has anyone experienced this before?  If so, how did you go about fixing it? Thank you!

iphone 5 suddenly no sound

I recently had a software update (6.1.4) on my iphone 5.  I ran the update last week and everything seemed fine.  However, as of yesterday my phone no longer made sound, it just stopped making sounds to everything.  It makes no sound when it rings, when I receive a text/email or when I try to listen to music.  The sound is completely dead.  The little switch on the left of the phone is turned on for volume.  I did a reset and nothing seems to help.  Has anyone encountered this problem?  Does anyone have a solution?

My lock button works on the left (screen facing me) but not the right. Phone isn't damaged. If I have no warranty, will apple fix it? I've asked several people that own the iphone 5 and theirs are doing the same.

WHAT OTHER iphone 4S

My iphone has literally no storage left, when I plugged it into Itunes it said 10.9 GB were occupied by "other" what is other? i have 6 apps, no music, and 32 pictures and my storage is almost full. I'm wondering if anyone has come across the same problem as me and I don't know what to do to fix it. I had to delete basically everything off my phone because of the 10.9 GB other is taking up. I didn't know if I should restore my phone and set it up as a new iphone. Please help!

way of sharing my Macbook Pro's Wifi connection to iphone 4 Not Using iphone as hotspot for laptop other way around

So a nasty smash destroyed both Front & Back of my iphone 4, and since having them replaced the Wifi signal has been really weak. I have seen other posts about screen replacement having to be done by going through the antenna, so something could be missing, or done incorrectly during the screen repair. Will definately be taking it back to the shop and finding out if It was put back together properly.  In the meantime I was wondering if it is possible to share my Macbook Pro's Wifi (always full signal in my house) directly to my iphone either using USB cable or through bluetooth. It's not been too much of a problem but it would be nice to use my iphone in bedroom using the Macbooks good signal.  Note: The replacement front screen on iphone has a small gap >1mm between the screen and centre metal casing on the left side just above the Silent/Loud Switch, which can be noticed by light leaking through the gap. The metal casing also still has a small dent between the volume down buttons and silent/loud switch, again nothing drastic 1mm maximum

iphone 5 Warranty Question

Hey guys, my iphone 5 was bought in December at Bestbuy. I just made an appointment at the Genius Bar and I wanted to ask some questions about the one year warranty included with the phone. My phone had been working fine for the past six months and it's never been treated harshly ( I've always kept a good case on it and a screen protector ) however yesterday my lock button stopped working... whenever I click it the phone does not respond to it. The phone is basically new when taken out of the case and the only reasonable explanation for this, in my opinion is a defect of manufacture that recently showed up. I'm wondering what will apple do when I take my phone in? Will they replace it for another? Attempt to fix it? Will any charges be present? And what should I bring just incase they decide to replace it ( ex. headphones, charger?)  Thank you.

I recently purchased an iphone 5 (Monday, May 6th) and am convinced that the battery is defective. I attempted to get the phone replaced by AT&T since it is within their 14-day Return/Exchange policy, but of course they denied me based on it being a "technical" issue and therefore a problem I need to take up with Apple. Whatever that means.Background info: left the house around 10:00 AM, battery fully charged at 100%Finished class at 12:00 PM, battery dropped to 53% (VERY minimal use, I was sitting through a lecture)Arrived at AT&T store at 12:15 PM, battery at 51%AT&T Rep turns off LTE, Wireless, Location Services, Bluetooth and Auto BrightnessThe only apps that were opened/used were Text, Mail (fetch set to Manual) and SafariAT&T Rep says there's nothing he can do, but these changes should "help"left AT&T 12:25 PM, hopped on bus, got home at 12:45 PM, battery drops to 43% (ZERO use)Call nearby Apple store at 12:50 PM to set up an appointment (Call length: 11 minutes), battery drops to 41%Call Customer Support at 1:30 PM to run remote battery diagnostic (Call length: 16 minutes), battery drops to 32%Apple Rep says the diagnostics looks normal...... Battery life: 30%Usage: 2 hours 26 minsStand by: 6 hours and 3 minutes This can't be right. iphone 5 Invalid S Error

I left my iphone 5 on my night stand over night and when I woke up, the phone said SIM FAILURE and instead of the carrier name it said INVALID SIM.I tried re-booting and it didnt work, then I took the sim out and placed it back in again and it still didnt work, so I restored my iphone and it still doesnt work and now I cant even enter the phone since you need a working sim card to activate it HELP ME PLEASE!!

Dipped left speaker on my iphone 4s into some vanilla ice cream. suggestions

My hand slipped while holding the phone and eating ice cream. The left speaker got a dunking. Yeah I know I screwed up but that's life. I licked the ice cream off but now the sound volume on the left speaker is reduced compared to the right speaker which didn't get the ice cream treatment. Any suggestions? (Other than dipping the right speaker in so they both sound the same?) Thanks

My iphone 5 loses battery extremely fast

Ok so my iphone is pretty new I got it like a few weeks ago. It was fine at first but now it loses battery super quick. I charge it over night and in the morning when I unplug it I literally lose a percent immediately and then I check Facebook for a bit and it goes down to 95-93%.Is this happening to anyone else? What do I do about it? I'm running on IOS 6.1.4 and have about 7GB left from my 32GB capacity.

My phone will not restore properly iphone 4S

I just bought a second hand (perfect condition) iphone 4S today, the user sold it because they had upgraded to an iphone 5. The previous user did not restore the phone they just deleted all of their previous data (contacts, pictures, applacations, they left their 1,100 songs though), so I planned on restoring it later tonight to start fresh. I had it activated to my phone number at the Verizon store on my way to a family party and used it throughout today but put barely anything onto it knowing I would be restoring it tonight. I got home and plugged it into my laptop and went to iTunes found "Emily's iphone" and then hit the restore button like normal, it worked perfectly fine and went the whole 14 minutes it said it had to. Then my phone went to the "connect to iTunes" screen when it was already connected. I checked to make sure everything was plugged in correctly, and it all was perfectly fine. I tried the manual reboot (holding the home and lock buttons for a few seconds) and all it does is shut off and bring me to the same "connect to iTunes screen".. someone please tell me how I can restore my phone! Thank you,    Emily

iphone 5 seizing randomly-unable to be used

I am not the most technically inclined, so please bear with me.  About two months ago, lines began showing up in Safari every now and again. They would go away, so I didn't think too much of it. Then one night, while in a game app, the screen began "flashing" like a strobelight. It couldn't exit the app fully, was blinking half the screen in the app, part of the home screen, etc. You cannot see throught the commotion to use the phone, if the programs can even open. This happened all evening, through the night, and the entire following day. Then it stopped.  It was fine when I took it to the AT&T store (the closest Apple store is 45 minutes away, so I wanted to be sure AT&T couldn't do anything for me) but by opening and closing programs and apps, I was able to force it to act up. Of course when I left the store, it worked fine again.  It was fine for a few days, acting up only a time or two, but I drove 45 minutes to the Apple store. My Genius Bar member told me it was software based and that I should restore the phone, download the software again, and manually add my media back on. After the four+ hours of downloading and 2+ hours of adding media, it was fine again. That was about two weeks ago. Now it's back.  I looked into the diagnostics (what I can see through the noise on the screen) and I have many different errors going on. Googling these errors codes is not providing much information, and again, I am not the best with this stuff.  SO:-Is a latestcrash.plist or mediaserverd.plist the same as a panic.plist code? In turn, if they are, will Apple replace the phone as they supposedly do in the case of panic.plist crashes? -I've noticed a bunch of the issues seem related to audio and video functions on the phone. I have AudioToolbox, CoreFoundation, and CoreQuartz codes, for example. Are these things that would justify a replacement? I am sitting through another 4 hour software download right now in order to restore the phone again, but am afraid to lose that diagnostics info, but also cannot see the screen to send any diagnostics info to Apple. Is this something that is software based? Does that mean I am going to be doing this every few weeks? The phone is only 6 months old, but I don't want to let it go and loet the one year manufacturer's warranty.  I apologize for being so verbose but I really cannot find anything online that sounds similar to what my phone is doing. Any guidance would be much appreciated.

New iOS update froze my phone and I had to restore my phone. iphone 5

I try to avoid updates on my iphone because it's either hit or miss and after the latest update that was released a couple days ago, my worst fear happened.  It updated then I left it alone to update.  After over an hour I come back and the "connect to iTunes" image appeared and nothing worked.  Once iTunes was restarted it said I needed to restore my phone to factory settings. This is ridiculous and very frustrating.  I'm not going to lie, several of my friends have Samsung Galaxy S3's or Notes and they seem way more verstitle and reliable then my iphone.  Any suggestions?

My battery drains VERY quickly I'm having to plug in twice day iphone 5

Hi Its becoming incresingly annoying that I'm having to charge my iphone twice a day. Its always 100% at the start of the day and come around tea time its down to around 30%. I do use it for whatsapp but thats about it during the day and after having an iphone 3 & 4 I've never experienced such issues. I was told the battery life was improved with the iphone 5?  My main point is that its not always been like this and with having over a year left on my contract I need to nip this in the bud before it gets any worse. Things I have tried so far (To no avail) Closing all apps that are open.Lowered my screen brightness (I can only just see it)  Any suggestions as neither of the above two have worked. Cheers Gareth

iphone 4s Headphone Jack Problems

Just yesterday I plugged in my headphones to listen to music, and music was only playing out of one side, and very vaguely out of the other side.  I thought it was my set of headphones so I tried multiple sets of different headphones, with the same problem.  Is there any way I can fix this? Or do I need to go to a best buy and try and get my phone repaired? Thanks

Issues after 6.1.4 update iphone 5

IS anyone else having issues after the 6.1.4 update? Here is what I have experienced in the last two days.  1- Unable to access a locked or secure network.  It asks for password initially.  When entered, it is unable to connect.  I restart and then go to Settings, find the network and click.  I never get a prompt for the password, just "Unable to Connect" 2-Bluetooth.    I can after a few attempts to connect my Bluetooth headphones, only after I get a "Failed attempt" a few times.  Then only music works, unable to make phone calls.  This happens with two different products.  A SENA SMH 10R and LG HBS 700.   3- Music play - I found this issue out when trying to figure out problem with Bluetooth.  I can start to play a song fine, but if I click on the ">>" or "<< "  it freaks the player out and then skips multiple songs or stops play and goes back to the playlist.  At first it was doing this with the Bluetooth headphones when using it to make selections.  So I deleted the devices and the iphone continued to do it when selecting functions on the screen.  Some playlists did it and some don't.  Creating a new playlist did not help.  Additional Info.Apple Store replaced my iphone on Saturday 5.4.13 because if antina issues.  The issues above came after I restored from backup and updated the OS.  I have erased the phone 2 times since getting the new phone and restored from back up and rebuilt from Itunes and neither way makes a difference above. What is going ON?   Message was edited by: Karl Kroeker  Corrected Version update

I have an iphone 5... I cannot make calls or receive calls. I have an iphone 4 8gb and it seems that everytime I try to download an app/song or try to take a photo/video it is constantly telling me there's no more space left on my iphone. The content of my iphone is: 1.40 GB's of music, 761.1 MB of photos, 779.6 MB of apps, and 3.39 GB's of other. I don't know how to get rid of the "other" part that takes up half my storage. If anyone has some helpful ways to get rid of the other storage without losing all my data (pics, music, apps, messages, etc) let me know!

Recently, my iphone 4s has been producing distortion in the right channel when playing back music and/or making VOIP calls.  It is now starting on the left channel as well.  Making cellular calls is fine (no distortion).  Playing music through the doc connector is fine.  Playing music through bluetooth is fine.  Have I fried my onboard DSP for the onboard audio output devices?  When I record video, audio is unbearably distorted.

right headset doesn't work after upgrading iOS iphone 4

I use iphone 4 32GB. I upgrade the iOS from 5.1.1 to 6.1.3. On the previous iOS, i don't have any problem. But after i upgrade my phone, my right headset doesn't work. I've clean the jack, plug, etc; I've tried to change the sound settings, music setting, etc, but it doesn't change anything. My headset still mute, exactly the right side. The left one is still okay. I've tried to plug another jack and nothing change. Anybody help :'(

few problems with my iphone 4s.

Okay so my sister recently upgraded to an iphone 5 because her iphone 4s got a bit wet and it broke the camera. She gave me the 4s but it turns out it has quite a few irritating problems:The camera flash is always on. I tried a few software fixes that had worked for other people but no joy.The camera itself doesnt work. The shutter in the app doesnt open.The dock connector needs to be put at an angle for it to charge or sync and a slight movement can cause it to disconnect.The glass on the back is a bit cracked.The speakers don't work and it looks as if it is connected to a docking station in the music app when there are no headphones connected.She had this phone for over a year so there is no warranty but I have no problem with fixing/replacing some hardware myself. Would somebody be able to help me or point me in the direction for help with these probelms? any help or tips are greatly appreciated.

Lightning Cable will not charge my iphone 5 at all.

Okay so i got my iphone 5 for my birthday on Febuary 10th 2013.I was really happy with it until yesterday/early this morning, I was charging my phone when it light up and vibrated giving me a charging error. (I will post a screenshot below)My phone charged to 97% and stopped.Now my iphone will not charge at all. i've tried 2 lightning cables. 2 Usb Power Blocks. So really i'm pretty annoyed that I payed over 500 pounds just about 3 months ago to be left in the dark.I still have all my apple care for a year and my 90 days support.But does anyone know if i take my phone to the nearest apple store if they will swap it for a new one? (Around 6 miles away) Also i looked into the power socket of my phone and they look like they're kinda damaged? i might be incorrect but all i have done is use my phone in the normal way.So my main questions are Will Apple Replace it?Will they test another charger there?Will they charge to repair it?Do i need my reciept?Is there any specific i need to take if i do go?

iphone 4 battery life Why it die so fast and what can I

I have had an iphone 4 for a little over two years now and feel like recently, my battery is dying so fast.  When I go out for the day it always dies before I get home, what I think it is, could be that I take a lot of pictures and use many picture apps, but I don' think that it has always been this bad. NO matter what I do, when I go out to shoot at the park, it dies within a few hours. I hardly use it for other things besides that and it still dies. Yesterday when I left the house at 12, and came home at 5, it was dead.  I did all of the things I read about that I need to do, like closing the apps, etc.  I don't get it, is it me, or the battery being old or what? Should I buy a portable charger or do I need a new phone? I have a question about charging the battery as well. A coworker of mine told me that you need to let your battery die out every time, and then charge it, but I never do that. iphone 5 turning off at 40 battery power

Hi guys. Today when I played music through spotify to my car audio system (through minijack), my iphone 5 turned itself off in the same way it does when the battery is empty. At this point, the battery was at 40%. When I tried turning it on immediately after, the 'connect to power outlet' symbol showed up. I also remember I used the snapchat app at that point. Now a couple of hours later, I could turn it on normally and I have 40% power left. At the moment I'm running iOS 6.1.3 and I've never experienced this before.  Has anyone else had this problem? Could it be related to the amount of power drawn through the headphone jack?  Thanks!

iphone 4 can't connect to my NetGear WNDR3700 router.

I have that router and it's working great with my iphone 4.The security I use on both the 2.4ghz and 5ghz is "WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES]" mainly for compatibility with older devices.You may also want to try and set the 2.4ghz wireless speed to "Up to 130Mbps" instead of "Up to 300Mbps" via the router settings > Wireless Settings on the top left, because I found some devices have connectivity problems or do connect and then run incredibly slowly on the "Up to 300Mbps" for some reason.

I recently quit my job. When i worked there I was using an iphone 5 but had to give it up when I left. I have an iphone 4s and wanted to backup my first phone on to this one. 1) I backed up my iphone 5 to itunes.2) I plugged in my iphone 4s and couldnt do a restore because the firmware was out of date. It instructed me to do it as a new phone and then do a buckup. So I set it up as a new phone.3) Updated firmware on 4s4) Restored phone to my iphone 5 backup. Now everything went well except Im missing some apps. So I have 2 questions: Q1) What apps come with the iphone 4s, what I cant get out of the app store? Q2) How do I get them back? I am missing iTunes and Music already that I know of and I want to use the phone for music of course. Thanks, the help would be great

aux connection to car no longer working wiPhone

I've been using my iphone 4 connected to my 2010 Honda CRV via aux cable for a full year no pbs.  Yesterday, in the middle of a song, it just suddenly stopped.  The on/off click comes through, but no other audio (no iTunes, audio books, etc).  I thought it might have just been a bum cable, so I tried a new cable.  Nope.  So then thought it was my phone - but audio works fine w/headphones (and its own speakers).  Then I tried connecting the phone to my husband's 1997 Toyota FJ - and had the exact same problem.  So - two different cars (on which the aux connection has always worked with my iphone 4), three different aux cables.  The weird thing is that the on/off click comes through on both car speakers when it's connected, just no other audio.  Oh, and I connected the phone to my CRV USB (which for some reason I'd never done before...) and it works just fine.  Even better sound quality than before.  But since my Husband and I often switch cars, and his doesn't have a USB port...would love to figure out what's going on so I can listen to my iphone in his car.  Any suggestions on trouble shooting?

I have already an iphone 5. I use it with more than 900+ contacts, 5 email accounts from different providers actively, many apps, and with all a real life companion sure however, I need a second to use with a different telephone operator. I would like to have all my apps, contacts, emails, and everything there, too, like a mirrored one. One is in my left pocket one is in my right pocket.. Is that possible? If possible, how can I do it? Should I use it as another iphone with another Apple ID or how it goes?? Any negative / positive points? Thank you, RomerQ

hi guys... i have an iphone 4 running ios 5.01 i believe..  about 3 weeks ago, suddenly it just died for no reason. i didn't drop it or anything.. i pressed and hold the home and spring board buttons, but nothing happened.  the phone would only turn on if it is being charged. even then, it is not functioning at all.. it says no service on the top left, the wifi is greyed out..  most of the apps wont work. when i selected any of the apps, they flashed briefly then go back to main menu.  and the phone dies again as soon as i unplugged the it from the charger. the battery says a 100% while being plugged.  there is an alarm icon on top of the main menu..  last night, all of a sudden, the phone just started to function again while being docked to the charger... after being unplugged for about a week or so.  and everything just works... but this morning after i have been using it for a few hours since last night, it died again...  so it looks like there is a loose connection inside the phone or there is a chipset or something thats beginning to fail inside phone..  just wondering if anyone has experience this kind of issue with their iphone 4..  its very irritating.. i never drop the phone, never got in the water.
