Im trying to press home and lock bottom at the same time but it didnt work, Also Im trying to put the cell in DUT and nothing happen. when i conected to the charger it gets to hot and dont charge.

Ringer not working iphone 4S

When a call or text is coming throug there is no sound. The settings seem fine. When I switch the side button to red nothing happens. What used to happen would be the bell sign would come up with a line through it indicating the ringer was switched off but now nothing happens whichever way I switch it. Vibrate is switched on in settings but it isn't vibrating either. Interestingly the alarm is working so the sounds are not completely gone.  I have powered it off an back on etc., but it hasn't made any difference. Any advice. Thanks Paula

There's 5 people and it was iMessage, and then it went to text? And half the people are iMessage and half are text, but now, only 1 is test and the rest are back to iMessage. But everyone's iMessage works in other conversations and group chats. How do I get it to go back?

Canadian iphone 5 in UK

Hello, I bought an iphone 5 from the Canadian Apple store a few months back. I have just got back to the UK and inserted my UK sim card. I'm on Giff Gaff (O2) I can still make and recieve calls and texts. But most of my apps aren't working. Nor are any of my browsers. iMessage still works over 3G so i dont understand why my apps and safari arent sending or redceiveing data. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks in advance, Tom

I went to best buy today to buy a snap on case for my iphone and I went to geek squad for them to put the case in and I saw that they were pretty rough with my iphone, they tried pushing the iphone in as hard as they could and then it snapped on I am too scared to take off the case again cuz it seems like it will be hard to put back on. 299.00 damage fee b.s. iphone 4

I received a refurbished iphone 4 under the 1year apple warranty. My home/power button became stuck, so I went to the vzw store and was told that it was a manufacture defect. I received refurbished phone and sent other phone back. I got my bill and now they charging 299.00 for a damage fee, WHY???My phone has never been out of its case and I know it's not my fault that the button got stuck. I know I'm not paying for no damage fee when the damage had nothing to do with me! Guess ill find new phone carrier cause this is a big boat load of b.s,!!!!!

iphone 5 home button issue.

back in November, I got my iphone 5, and the day got it without even touching the home button, it was slightly pushed in, and by that I mean the home button slightly sinks in & It really bothers me. It was new brand out of the package, do you think if I will to the Apple store they would be able to help me? HiI have an iphone 5 and last night it just turned off while I was asleep so I charged and it turned and it worked but then turns off suddenly so i plugged it again for houers and it just got stuck on the silver apple so I pressed the button on the top right and the home button and it worked againbut while I was in a call it turned off and now it doesnt turn on so I tried to restore it and my itunes says there's a 2001 error and i already checked and my itunes and mac updetes are the latest ones what else can I do? I have just started to update the latest iOS 6.1.3 and my wifi disconnected and all of my contacts have been deleted. My phone has not updated to ios 6.1.3 as wifi stopped working. I have never backed up on iTunes on a computer, I always download everything directly from wifi onto my iphone. Can I get my contacts back? If I can, how? Please help!!

Re iphone 4s wifi

My iphone 4s no longer allows me to connect to any wifi connections. The option is greyed out and wont let me do anything to it. I have tried restarting and resetting the network connections and all  settings but this has not worked. The wifi came back briefly randomly at one or two points but could not find any wifi networks. I have read on the internet it is probably a hardware problem so I will be taking it back to apple next week. Just wondered if anyone had any further ideas about the problems?

My iphone 5 battery drains a lot. after 42 minutes of usage, and 5 hours of standby it drops to 89%. I'm just wondering if thats normal. I was wondering, if theres a way I can completely restore my iphone. Like restore nothing back onto it, only my text messages and imessages cause those are really important.

Folks, I am getting confusing information from various sources.According to the service I am using for factory unlocking my iphone 5, as soon as I unlock my phone I will be able to use it on all GSM networks, except the original ATT. This is contrary to all the previous unlocks I have ever done on any phone. What is the reason why my phone will no longer work on ATT, if true? Can APPLE or ATT help me get it back on ATT network once I no longer need to use it overseas? Thank you for your help.

I dropped my phone on its back and now screen wont turn on. What wrong with phone iphone 4S

I dropped my phone with an otterbox defender case on the phone on its back, directly following the fall (maybe 3ft) the screen remains black, however, the phone is still on because I get text messages and emails. I believe that the digitizer may have been dislodged from the logic board. Should I investigate the phone myself or take it in, mind you the nearest apple store (grrr) is almost 60 miles away.

I have the iphone 4. iMessage was fine after the iOS 6.1.3 to begin with, but these last 3 days I haven't even been able to send one. My phone doesn't even recognise when someone has iMessage either. Have tried turning iMessage on and off, tried restarting the phone, have even restored it back to before the problems I have been having

iphone 5 not ringing or alerting of texts calls going to voice mail

My iphone 5 recently started having problems with the ringer.  The ringer will be turned all the way up, the mute button is NOT being used and the phone will not ring for calls or alert for texts.  It is not always happening, but more so than not.  I have tried rebooting the phone, the OIS is up to date and I do not have the "Do Not Disturb" set.  I can be in the same spot with LTE and full signal have a call/text that is missed then receive a call/text and it rings.  Does not seem to matter if the call is coming from a land line, same Verizon carrier cell or different carrier cell there is no noticable reason.  Any ideas???

Has had problem with iphone 4s battery not holding charged status

My 4S iphone would not sync although it would charge when i connected it to my computer. I  got help from an apple representative who walked me through syncing with icloud to get back my contacts.  My phone wil not hold a charge since then. Apple diagnostic said the battery was perfect??

iMessage photos say Not Delivered but are received by recipient iphone 5

For about 6 weeks now, a lot of the time when I send a photo via iMessage it always comes back as "not delivered" but the recipient actually gets it. This is extremely annoying and has only been doing it recently. Anybody else experiencing the same thing and/or have a fix for this?

iphone 5 keeps turning itself off

Hi Ive had iphone 5 since it came out, and recently this year, its been turning itself off with plenty of battery life and wont allow me to turn it back on until I have plugged it into wall charger to 'charge' it back up.  When its plugged in, it returns to the battery level it was originaly at....30%, 50% for example. Has anyone else experienced this issue?  Im going to do a iCloud and computer back up and restore firmware see if that helps?Chris

So last night I was talking via speaker phone and suddenly noticed that the sound quality was horrible.  It was extremely grainy and scratchy sounding.  At first I thought it was just something with the call quality so I turned off the speaker and talked on the phone normally.  Later I got an e-mail and noticed that the tone that it made also sounded scratchy.  So I tried playing a song through the iphone speaker and sure enough that was awful too.   I know it's the internal speaker because the music played fine through headphones.  Has anyone experienced this before?  If so, how did you go about fixing it? Thank you!

iphone 5-rattling phone second replacement coming

hi guys. i can see this is a common issue. i have heard a few different reasons about why this is happening. either it's the autofocus mechanism or the vibrate motor.whatever the reason, this should not be happening on a £600 piece of hardware. the quality control at apple is not what it used to be and when they are rushing to manufacture millions of devices to tight deadlines in china then this is a problem that was going to happen sooner or later.i am of the opinion that this is a fault with possibly more than 50% of all iphones manufactured to date and apple needs to do a product recall. it seems that they have told staff to not admit this as a fault to try and avoid just that.i got a replacement and it arrived, the rattle was slightly less noticable but definitely still there. i just ordered another replacement and will continue to keep doing so until i get a device that doesn't rattle.before anyone says that this is normal and it is SUPPOSED to rattle, that is BS. i have been to the apple store in brighton and tried the display models and even tried a few they had in the back after speaking with a staff member. out of the 12 phones i went through, 2 didnt rattle AT ALL. Now you tell me if that is normal and people should just put up with the substandard product that apple has churned out this time. I say NO, and the more people that actually make a stand, the quicker apple will be forced to spend some of their $600B on fixing this issue.

after months and months of not being able to update my iphone 4 to the new technology due to storage usage, i was finally able to. Now after two hours of waiting, my phone says it was verifying the update. My phone turned off and then turned back on and i got the plug into iTunes icon. after i plugged it in it says that the iphone update server cannot be found.

Hi All, I just upgraded my iphone 5 to IOS 6.1.4. Afterwhich i realize the performance motion of sliding from page to page, app opening and minimizing... seems to have dropped. So a nasty smash destroyed both Front & back of my iphone 4, and since having them replaced the Wifi signal has been really weak. I have seen other posts about screen replacement having to be done by going through the antenna, so something could be missing, or done incorrectly during the screen repair. Will definately be taking it back to the shop and finding out if It was put back together properly.  In the meantime I was wondering if it is possible to share my Macbook Pro's Wifi (always full signal in my house) directly to my iphone either using USB cable or through bluetooth. It's not been too much of a problem but it would be nice to use my iphone in bedroom using the Macbooks good signal.  Note: The replacement front screen on iphone has a small gap >1mm between the screen and centre metal casing on the left side just above the Silent/Loud Switch, which can be noticed by light leaking through the gap. The metal casing also still has a small dent between the volume down buttons and silent/loud switch, again nothing drastic 1mm maximum

iphone 4 battery drain when powered off

Lately I've been turning off my phone and when I turn it back on battery is drained. Yesterday I turned it off at 80% and when I turned it back on 3 hours later it was at 62%. Then today I turned it off at 50% and when I turned it back on it was at 32%! Does anyone know why my iphone is losing battery even when it's completely powered off? I feel like it shouldn't be losing any battery at all

iphone 5 Frequently Crashes to Apple Logo and Screen Lock

I have an iphone 5 64 GB running iOS 6.1.4 on AT&T. Over the past ~ three days, have noted that the iphone randomly "crashes".  Could be when I am using an app.  Could be when I am making a phone call.  Could be when it is simply connected to the power cord and haven't touched it at all. The cycle is as follows: Screen suddenly goes blankThe white Apple logo (which typicaly appears during boot-up) appears for 3 - 5 secondsI hear the "chirp" that normally sounds at the end of boot-upThe iphone lock lock screen then appears Sometimes, when the phone emerges from lock screen, the brightness is about half of what it was prior. I have not been able to isolate this behavior to a specific set of circumstances.  When it occurs during a phone call, the call is interrupted / other party is silenced, but if I swipe at lock screen, the call resumes (the other party notes that I went silent during duration). I have re-started / re-booted the iphone 15 times.  I have cleared all apps from the cache.  I have disabled all notifications and location services.  I have done a Reset All Settings on iphone and restored from iCloud.  I have done a Restore from iTunes.  The problem continues. I would say that this crash cycle occurs about every 30 - 60 minutes.  As noted, many times when I'm not even touching / using the iphone. Have also noted that when not connected to power supply, the iphone is quite warm, and battery drain is at an accelerated rate of 3x to 4x of "normal", worse than prior iOS 6 related battery issues.  Have also tried all the usual battery saving tricks - wifi is off, GPS is off, EQ is off, etc. Any thoughts before I head to the Genius Bar? Thanks! TCF

Fixing wet iphone 4-flash light and on screen dead iphone 4S

There seems to be a lot of people out there dropping their iphone in the bath so I thought I would share my experience of fixing mine.Firstly if its in warranty consult your dealer - if this doesn't help try the following: A lot of people say stick it in bags of rice / silicon, etc but here is a quicker, more reliable way which is far less likely to contaminate one of the connectors. You do not need any special equipment. Make sure phone is off (If you can still see the screen) - hold sleep and Home for 5 seconds and tap the red off button that appearsPop your oven on a low heat ( less than 100C) for 5 minutes.Wrap your phone inside a sock, doubled over a couple of times so the phone is well protected.Turn oven offPop phone into oven for 30 minutes or longer preferably You could use a hairdryer but be very careful to keep it moving to avoid any localised heat spots that could damage components. If the phone got really soaked you might want to jump down to taking the phone apart - if it is still full of water powering up or charging could result in further damage Let the phone cool and try to power up, if nothing happens check for any signs of water vapour still in the phone and repeat if present. Otherwise try charging and powering up Still no success? this step requires a very small crosshead (some need a 5star) screwdriver, don't compromise and try and use a larger one, damaged screws will cause you even more expense. Very cheap on ebay. Unscrew the 2 small screws at the bottom next to the speaker, slide the back up and lift away. Unscrew the very small screw holding the battery connector in place and pry up the connector (lift the side nearest the edge first). Be careful not to lose the screw or the small metal bracket under the connector. Use the plastic tab sticking up half way along the battery to ease the battery out (usual there is a small amount of glue on them). This will reset the phone (you will not lose anything but the phone will hopeful power up when the battery is replaced). This is a good time to try the drying procedure again to ensure there is no more moisture present. Reconnect the battery screw everything back in place and press the wake button. If this has not succeeded you may need specialist help to test more components.Good luck ( and I cannot stress enough - keep the temperature low when drying)

I am having trouble restoring my iphone. When I try to restore it, it says I need to update my iphone first but I have already done so and my iphone says it is currently up to date. I also just try and dowload the update again to just try it and it comes up with an error and won't finish everytime. Help please!Also- another question, my iphone will never finish syncing but will back up the phone. Just says "Waiting for changes to be applied."

MobileVOIP Skype not work after 6.1.4 iphone 5

Hi, I have an iphone 5. Sometimes I use the MobileVOIP app for Voip calls. after the 6.1.4 update the application does not send the audio to the speaker (both call speaker and external speaker). It seems that the application recognize the earphones also without plugging them or it is not able to reach the internal speaker. The application works good with earphones. Also trying with Skype, they don't work. Since the update focused on audio-problems, are there settings to solve this problem? Do any of you have the same problem? Thank You Roberto

Would Apple still be willing to replace my iphone 5

Hi, I purchased an iphone 5 back in February from an Apple store. Worked absolutely fine until now, where some software issue are appearing; The battery drains ridiculously fast even when features are disabled (i.e. location services, 3G when not needed), and also the home button some time has a lag when exiting apps. This has been bothering me now, but there is a slight blemish on the phone near the earphone jack... would Apple dismiss a replacement and ask for a charge, even though it's 3 months old?

I have tried resetting and erased all data but still no luck detecting network. 3G is found briefly when powering back up. I have tried two different sims from two different providers 3 an Vodafone but whilst carrier is found neither connect. Wifi if working fine as are all other phone functions. Any ideas?
