have problems restoreing iphone receiving error 21 messages
My iphone 5 has always been horrible in receiving any notification. I get no notification from any application or even the stock application. This is frustrating when I need these notification for my user experience. This mainly has to do with notification coming on my lock-screen. Facebook, instragram, and many other application gives no notification on my lockscreen and no sound to indicate any news. This is a problem that I've experience for a long time and its very bothering to see no notification pop up or sound. I've used to really enjoy apple before this issue. I used to believe it was just software issues but after the many updates, nothing was done to change this problem. At this point I am not satisfied with the product and how it performs.
Please help - My iphone 4 intermittently stops making and receiving calls/texts without warning, the phone will have a full signal and could be anywhere in the country but when you try to make a call it won't do it. If you then ring the phone it is as if it is turned off, if you then turn the phone off then on again it works perfectly well until the next time which might be in days or hours. T -Mobile talked me through a reset but this has not worked and Apple want a fee to help further as the phone is 22 months old, it is however little used and still looks new. Any help appreciated
Everytime I try to use Facebook on my iphone 4, it crashes freezes and closes. It is extremely frustrating. How can I stop this from happening? It occurs when I try to post, scroll through newsfeed, comment, like, etc. HELP. (iOS 6.1.3, iphone 4, AT&T)
Today I was taking pictures of my family, and I was using the flash on my phone because the light in the room was very dull. After taking the pictures and looking at them, I noticed the red eye thing that happens when you use flash. I decided to get rid of them with the red eye correction tool in the stock camera app, and after about 15 taps of pressing the red spots on one of the eyes on my cousin, the tool kept making dark spots in the wrong spot each time, and then the photos app just crashes. Um How can I fix this issue? because its persistent with every picture I Do it too.
I have an iphone 5 64 GB running iOS 6.1.4 on AT&T. Over the past ~ three days, have noted that the iphone randomly "crashes". Could be when I am using an app. Could be when I am making a phone call. Could be when it is simply connected to the power cord and haven't touched it at all. The cycle is as follows: Screen suddenly goes blankThe white Apple logo (which typicaly appears during boot-up) appears for 3 - 5 secondsI hear the "chirp" that normally sounds at the end of boot-upThe iphone lock lock screen then appears Sometimes, when the phone emerges from lock screen, the brightness is about half of what it was prior. I have not been able to isolate this behavior to a specific set of circumstances. When it occurs during a phone call, the call is interrupted / other party is silenced, but if I swipe at lock screen, the call resumes (the other party notes that I went silent during duration). I have re-started / re-booted the iphone 15 times. I have cleared all apps from the cache. I have disabled all notifications and location services. I have done a Reset All Settings on iphone and restored from iCloud. I have done a Restore from iTunes. The problem continues. I would say that this crash cycle occurs about every 30 - 60 minutes. As noted, many times when I'm not even touching / using the iphone. Have also noted that when not connected to power supply, the iphone is quite warm, and battery drain is at an accelerated rate of 3x to 4x of "normal", worse than prior iOS 6 related battery issues. Have also tried all the usual battery saving tricks - wifi is off, GPS is off, EQ is off, etc. Any thoughts before I head to the Genius Bar? Thanks! TCF
Without my knowing it, I recently had my iphone 4 fall out of my jacket. When I came back and found it, it had been out in the rain for 3 hours. Now, the microphone does not work when making or receiving calls. The speakerphone microphone at the top works fine, but not the one at the bottom. I have tried rebooting, too, and nothing seems to work. Do I need to take it to the Apple store to diagnose and fix?
Hi! Just last night and this morning my iphone has been having problems. I asked my sister to call me, (as a test.) but her phone played (no ringing) "the person you have called is not receiving calls right now." I can not send text message either. We both have iphone 4s's. thankyou!
I am not the most technically inclined, so please bear with me. About two months ago, lines began showing up in Safari every now and again. They would go away, so I didn't think too much of it. Then one night, while in a game app, the screen began "flashing" like a strobelight. It couldn't exit the app fully, was blinking half the screen in the app, part of the home screen, etc. You cannot see throught the commotion to use the phone, if the programs can even open. This happened all evening, through the night, and the entire following day. Then it stopped. It was fine when I took it to the AT&T store (the closest Apple store is 45 minutes away, so I wanted to be sure AT&T couldn't do anything for me) but by opening and closing programs and apps, I was able to force it to act up. Of course when I left the store, it worked fine again. It was fine for a few days, acting up only a time or two, but I drove 45 minutes to the Apple store. My Genius Bar member told me it was software based and that I should restore the phone, download the software again, and manually add my media back on. After the four+ hours of downloading and 2+ hours of adding media, it was fine again. That was about two weeks ago. Now it's back. I looked into the diagnostics (what I can see through the noise on the screen) and I have many different errors going on. Googling these errors codes is not providing much information, and again, I am not the best with this stuff. SO:-Is a latestcrash.plist or mediaserverd.plist the same as a panic.plist code? In turn, if they are, will Apple replace the phone as they supposedly do in the case of panic.plist crashes? -I've noticed a bunch of the issues seem related to audio and video functions on the phone. I have AudioToolbox, CoreFoundation, and CoreQuartz codes, for example. Are these things that would justify a replacement? I am sitting through another 4 hour software download right now in order to restore the phone again, but am afraid to lose that diagnostics info, but also cannot see the screen to send any diagnostics info to Apple. Is this something that is software based? Does that mean I am going to be doing this every few weeks? The phone is only 6 months old, but I don't want to let it go and loet the one year manufacturer's warranty. I apologize for being so verbose but I really cannot find anything online that sounds similar to what my phone is doing. Any guidance would be much appreciated.
For the past half year, every time I open my Voice Memos app, it shows the app interface and then immediately crashes and exist the app. This happens without me touching the screen after opening it.

hey there, so i bought my iphone on April 5th and it was working fine up until 2 days ago, my phone started glitching and shutting off by itself. Today it shows up with the input cord on the bottom of the screen and an arrow pointing to the itunes symbol at the top of the screen. When i plug my iphone into the computer it says it needs to be restored, i click "restore iphone", it then loads well but when it makes the final load to turn my phone on, it crashes and says "the iphone "iphone" could not be restored. An unknown error occured" what do i need to do to fix my iphone??????
I am tired of my iphone 4S already after suffering through issues upon issues with the device. My screen is having issues now where at a moment's chance it goes dim. I have to reset the device to get the brightness back to normal. I've tried restoring without any luck of this resolving. Another gripe I have is that I'm continuing to have issues with apps like Mail, Safari, and other Apple installed apps just continuously force closing. I've been sending emails back and forth on my iphone only to have Mail force close and I lose everything in my message. The phone acts sluggish and performs worse than previous 4S devices I've owned. I've had issues upon issues across multiple iphone 4S devices. The device I have currently is my 5th iphone 4S and even tho its less than a few months old after it was sent to me after multiple filler iPhones of refurb models from the store, I continue to experience issues that make me use my iphone less and less as it becomes more unreliable with the crashes and multiple restores. My closest store is not within close distance so that's made owning an iphone with issues difficult as not every thread on the communities forum touch on half the problems I continue to have. Thankfully at least Siri knows where I'm located compared to my other devices where she always thought I was in Pittsburgh where I picked the phone up at my nearest store over an hour and a half away. Now everything just seems to be more of a deficiency with iOS and the hardware than anything. Obviously there must be something wrong with the latest stocks of 4S devices if my issues are continuing. When I restore I'm always setting up as a new device. I'm never downloading or redownloading anything from my Mac or PC. Everything is just redownloading apps from iCloud within the App Store and having a ton of missing photos in my photo stream. I just don't understand what is wrong with my iphone. I never experienced these kind of issues with my iphone 3GS so its hard to swallow how terrible the 4S has performed with every single device I keep getting. I'm at a loss on what I can do. Does anyone have any tips I should try that Apple hasn't provided me with to fix or at least band-aid the issue long enough till I can upgrade with my carrier?
Hey everyone I have been holding back from updating my iOS on my iphone 4s (I know - not a smart move) I am currently still on 5.1.1 and trying to update to 6.1.3 (finally) from the phone itself (not via iTunes) I am trying to downlaod and install the update using Wi-Fi connectivity, but it just wouldn't let me? Kept saying An Error occured while downloading... It didn't give me any error code or any other explanation. It just simply won't update I know it was silly of me to begin with for not updating for so long, but I don't understand why my phone is rejecting the update? If this is even what is happening.. Also I sent my iMac for repair recently, came back with a Lion (which was what I had on there previously anyway) but it wasn't updated? So I couldn't just open iTunes and restore all my contacts.. AND I am still currently in the process of downloading the updates - but something always happens as well, an error occured that I have to re-download the update, internet drops on and off, etc. -- The reason I wanted to update was (this is a whole separate problem) my 4s kept crashing the apps, not doing anything out of ordinary - it just crashes everytime i start or a open an app. So I would hard reset my phone (turning it off and on again) and then I would find all my contacts gone. No other entries are gone, just my contact names! All messages and calendar entries are all still there - just no contact names in my address book. ***? After sleuthing here and there, and found no real solution to this problem. I decided to update my iOS because one of the discussion thread I found told me to try that. Heck, why not. SO I tried uploading and this is where I end up.. Does ANYONE have any idea what the **** is going on? Does anyone else out tehre have the same problem? Surely this is not just me!!
My iphone 5 is not making or recieving calls, but everything else works, including texting and receiving voice mails. I turned it on/off several times and checked my settings, but it still doesn't work.
Still having app problems. Done the restarting done the deleting app and reinstalling it. Done the resetting to manufactures setting and still app crashes??? Any ideas
Hi every body! Recently i have noticed that when i want to connect my iphone 5 personal hotspot to my laptop, the moment i plug in the USB cable while the Hotspot is already running on my phone, immidiatly windows crashes. with a bluescreen error. I switched off the hotspot and then connect to my laptop nothing happens and every thing seems normal, but turning on the hotspot is a problem. every time i need to use my personal hotspot i have to reboot my laptop and while its rebooting i connect the USB cable in order to use my personal Hotspot while its ON on the phone. Please Help!
My phone keeps crashing then goes to reboot and restarts, I check crash log and it has crashes called ResetCounter. I restored phone and the crashes happen randomily, nothing else is wrong with phone, have had about a year.
I've had my 4S since January 2012. All was well for about a year, and then the fun began.1) When the weather got colder (Less than five or six degrees), the phone would suddenly claim to have a flat battery, and turned itself off. Plugging in an external battery pack brought it back to life. Taking it back inside a warm building would bring it back to life again. 2) About twice a month, it crashes, and wipes all my contacts/calendar data. I started backing up to iCloud, so then it would restore from there, but muddle my contacts' photos up.3) It refuses to sync with iTunes. It says there's not enough memory. Sometimes on the phone, sometimes on my PC.4) At least once a day, it loses the ability to join any mobile network. Turning it off and on again usually allows it to rejoin my network (T Mobile).5) Instead of T Mobile, it randomly likes to show my operator name as 000-0000.6) It helpfully closes all my Safari tabs if I minimise Safari and use another app.7) The GPS is failing, which is a real nuisance because I use Nike+ for my daily jog. T Mobile's tech help were not very much help as soon as they realised I'd had the phone for over a year, and was therefore no longer covered by their warranty. They reckoned it was a hardware failure. I've purchased Apple Care today, and booked a Genius Bar appointment for Friday. Does anyone have experience of any of these problems?
I've had problems with battery life, phone crashes then entering recovery mode 4x in 1 day very frustrating, unable 2 open apps for any length of time as well

Siri keeps sending iMessages, even if the person receiving has a Nokia or blackberry, and I can't see a way to change this, because it is really getting on my nerves. Can you change this?! It's really annoying.
I have an iphone 4s that stopped receiving signal (from O2) despite numerous reboots. The SIM (and provider) works in another 'phone. Therefore I decided to backup and restore the iphone in case it was a software bug. However upon restore, it gets 3/4 of the way through and then iTunes reports that an unexpected error has occurred (-1) and the iphone reboots back into recovery mode. Trying to restore to the new 6.1.3 and I have attempted to flash with a separate download of the .ipsw and also tried it on a different PC, both running iTunes 126.96.36.199. There is no antivirus or firewall active. I guess there could be an underlying hardware fault and not just software as I suspected? Any ideas what it might be? Nick

I went for a service there 1 and a half month ago and by that time i had my iphone 5 only for four days , and the problem was with the chipset . They didn't give me a new one and i waited for 3 weeks until it finally came back and they told me that they changed the whole chipset !!!! Since upgrading to 6.1.3 I have not been able to connect to the iCloud. Everytime I attempt to click on iCloud in settings it crashes on me. Then the phone reboots itself.

Hi guysI recently just bought a new iphone 5 and it is already having some problems like not receiving messages when it has told me I've received one, the side button is getting really stiff and hard to change to silent and it always goes into SOS only mode...I want to go to the apple store and get a replacement but it is under my dads name.. A couple of days ago my Mail service at home stopped working. I only can receive Emails when I switch off WiFi and use my AT&T 4G. At home I am using a whole Apple enviorment and all my devices (iPad mini (6.1.1), iphone 4S (6.1.2), iPad (5.1.1), MacBook Pro (10.8.2)) can not receive Emails. When I am going to iCloud.com I can send and receive mails on my Mac, but over the OS X Mail.app and iOS Mail.app nor receiving nor sending works. I am using several Accounts on all deveices (iCloud, Yahoo!, Google and AOL) most of them are not working, only AOL received one mail yesterday. My first thought was of course the WiFi network which might have problems with the Apple Mail program, but I already tried another network with my iphone. In this other network I am getting an error on my iphone which tells me "Cannot get Mail. Connection to server failed." On my Mac at home mail.app tells me that my account are offline and that there might be a problem with iCloud, for more information visit iCloud support etc. Yes I did restart my deveices, yes I tried deleting and adding the mail account, yes I tried restarting the WiFi and yes I did that with iOS and OS X.
I have continuously over the last 6 months struggled with syncing my iphone and ipod with itunes The app continually crashes during the picture import. AND by the way it takes 10-15 minutes before it even attempts to import photos. The screen says importing photoes but doesnt try to optimize or anything for 10 minutes. I have a 3gs with 16Gb so its not a cheap phone. I have 10Gb free. I have 6600 photoes. This is very frustrating and undermines my confidence in your products. My ipod is an ipod 4 with 16Gb also. It does the exact same thing to it. The last time, I had to import photoes a few at the time and with it taking 10-15 minutes each time for 6600 photos it is a long frustrating process. But it will import every photo a few at a time. The error message is just that itunes has stopped working. no hint as to why. AND of course, my phone is out of use for the entire time. You guys must not want to believe ur phones are a necessary tool...or maybe you dont want the consumer to believe it is. I have tried to find solutions on your website as well as through other 3rd party communities. Ultimately they were of no use. I stumbled onto my solution by accident since Im a bit of a computer geek...a semi-geek.
When using any app on my iphone 4s it crashes momentarily after opening it. i have a lot of memory and not many apps at all in fact i only have one page of apps.out of 16gb of memory i have used 6gb. please help
Very recently, I started to see some of my notes on my Notes App on my iphone 4GS being duplicated, and when I deleted the duplicate, both disappeared, and an odd empty gap was left between the previous and subsequent notes. The problem then seemed to go away, so I put it down to some glitch that I didn't need to worry about. However, it has just happened again, and only this time, having closed down and restarted my iphone to see if that might clear the problem, I can't scroll down my Notes atall - I can open and read any of the Notes appearing on the first screen, but if I try and scroll down to subsequent notes the the Notes App just crashes. What might be happening here, and how can I fix this?
So Apple update tells me to update the phone to resolve Exchange issue (?) which will result in better battery life and less data usage. I've been running the latest IOs on the phone and itunes. So I do. Now the iphone is completely dead. It wont boot. Indicating that it wants to be connected to Itunes. Itunes says it must be restored? It was working 100% until I said ok to the update. I don't want to restore as it likely will destroy data on the iphone. Help me find a better solution! (and yeah right now Apple I am MAD)

Hi all, I have an iphone 5 and I am having problems receiving calls. When someone tries calling me, it goes straignt to voice mail 90% of the times, even if I have full service and 3G works. I can receive texts and iMessages perfectly fine. If I make a call, restart the phone or reset the network settings, the problem seems to get fixed for a short period of time, but it starts happening again within 1 hour. Can anyone help me with this? I forgot to say it's not a problem with the carrier, I've checked this and my friends using iphone 5 with the same carrier in my area have no problems at all! My iphone 4s running IOS 6.1.1 facebook app always crashes when trying to open events. How can I resolve this problem? Moreover there is no sound in the facebook notifications. Anyone else has this problem please ??
SInce I upgraded to 6.1.2 (I had no issues previously, all was perfect in my iphone 5 world since I got it!!) my battery is draining like a sieve, it's down 2% in seconds and no apps opened, as well 2 of my friends, one with an iphone 5 on SPrint like me and one with an iphone 4s on AT&T cannot send me pictures. I get the texts but not the pics. My friend with a Galaxy SII on Sprint can send me pictures fine. What is going on? Anyone else seeing these issues? My iphone 4S friend can send pictures to my iphone 5 SPrint friend just fine too. I can send pics to them and they receive them fine. I tried turning off/on and no change. Checked settings and everything is as it was before? I have LTE off since we do not have it in the Phoenix metro areas. (This was causing messaging delivery issues initially until I learned it should be off where you do not have it). Can I downgrade back to where I was in my old perfect world?

Whenever I try to buy stuff from apps or games, the application just completely crashes. I can't seem to find a reason why this is actually happening. I have been restarting it and still looking for an answer. My next thought is if I should restore the phone? I'm trying to lean away from this idea as I've heard there has been unfortunate consequences to it. If anyone can help, that would be great. Thanks.

I know the apps store will not give me an old version,that is why i do not use my Mac or iMac to replace the application however this has also been updated on my Macs. I reiterated in my message yesterday that,it is not that what you asked me to do is not working or i did not follow your instructions into details. I did follow every steps you stated. The end result is that, WHEN IT REACHES DATA MIGRATION,THE SCREEN WILL BE BLACK OR LIGHT BLUE BLACK,WITH A WHITE SCROLLING LINE THREAD ON THE DEVICE SCREEN,MEANING MIGRATION IS ABOUT TO TAKE PLACE. THIS WILL MOVE FOR ABOUT 2 or 3SECONDS,AND IT WILL CRASH. I have tried this several time,i do not mind starting all over again,i just want it to work with iCloud. We just sent you an email an hour before you sent this one!! It had instructions on how to overcome this particular problem "Cannot sync since another device is syncing at the same time". It doesn't look like you followed those instructions at all. This is our detailed feedback, so please read and follow them closely::- you can only get this message when you are trying to sync to iCloud with CJournal. It means that something else got stuck while syncing with iCloud before, and it needs you to clean up the iCloud database for CJournal (as previously instructed, and repeated below)- there is no hope for us to recover your previous data. The best we can do is to get the app working again with iCloud, by cleaning up your iCloud data for CJournal- your old data was previously wiped out when you cleaned up the iCloud database without backing it up. There isn't any chance that we can recover that. Maybe the Apple iCloud engineers can restore that for you (though I doubt it). If they do, then let us know and we can figure something out. Meanwhile, follow these instructions for resetting your iCloud data:- make sure all devices are updated to iOS6.1, and running the latest version of the app (3.3) [you can check if you have the latest version of the app by going to the App Store on your device, then checking the Updates section to see if you see any update for CJournal]- make sure to turn off iCloud sync option in CJournal, on all devices- To clean out your iCloud database, you have to go to the Settings app -> iCloud -> Storage and Backup -> Manage Storage -> Documents and Data -> Show All -> look for Contacts Journal. (if you don’t see it, then look for “icloud” with a blank white icon). Here, press the Edit button, then the Delete All button. This will clean out your iCloud database. Note that it will take a few minutes for your data to be deleted from your other devices, and you shouldn’t try syncing any of your devices to iCloud in the meantime. - Now restart all your devices by powering them down, then power them back up again.- Now, wait 5-10 minutes for the delete to go through- On one of your devices, with the latest data, turn on iCloud. If it gives an initial message saying "iCloud data already exists", then press Cancel. It means it hasn't updated from iCloud that you deleted the data. You'll have to open the Settings app and go to the same Show All page again, just so the device tries to connect to iCloud again. Wait a few minutes before trying to enable iCloud again.- After it's done transferring the information to iCloud, wait a few minutes, then connect your 2nd device to iCloud and let it connect with the existing iCloud data. If it gives a message saying "First Time iCloud Sync", then press Cancel. It means it hasn't detected the data you just uploaded from iCloud yet. Try again in a minute.
